I’m here to bring awareness to heavy/engie/medic/spy polycule bc this polycule has the combined intelligence of at least two brain cells, and also 13 doctorates between them (maybe more if you count the ones spy has probably forged before)

Heavy and Medic were always besties, and they hold hands and kiss sometimes, but I like to think that Heavy and Engie got romantically involved first, bc they both see a kindred soul in each other like very romantic. Engie has a complex relationship with his family, so he finds it sweet that Heavy has such a good one with his. And I think Heavy at least has working knowledge of technology and engineering since he made his mini guns himself, so they definitely have things in common.

And then bc engie and spy had an on and off sort of friends with benefits thing, spy was brought in next, and he brought medic with him bc they had a mutual pining thing going on for ages and this finally spurred them to tell each other about their feelings before getting absorbed into the (hive mind) polycule. And they all read books together or share journals and other things they find interesting.

Personally I like to think their individual relationships within the polycule are varied, like some see each other as more like friends and others have more romantic feelings involved. And some relationships are a little more tumultuous, but because they have supportive partners around them it makes problems easier to smooth out.

Also spy steals everybody’s clothes to wear and the rest of the polycule finds it hilarious/cute bc the clothes are always way too big for his skinny ass. This is canon and I REFUSE any and all criticism
