They hadn’t been home in over thirty five hours, hadn’t slept in over thirty five goddamn hours. Even that short a time, the apartment felt alien, disconnected and cold, the overly bright hallway was too long, too wrong, too everything. Fuck. Recounting all he’d eaten since they left, all Kaz could come up with was coffee. He hated coffee. Jo’s warmth left his side, her shoes kicked off against the wall as she padded barefoot into the kitchen. She was talking. What was she saying? Casimir couldn’t follow, only seeing how bright her smile was, hearing that brilliant laugh, and then she was gone.

Alone in that hallway. Alone just standing there in that cramped and over quaffed uniform. Alone with only that overhead light’s ringing hellsound and his own breathing getting heavier and heavier, hands clenching, loosening, trying to figure out what was going on.

He snapped the stupid lapel chain off his shirt.

Then pulled the sleeve garters off and flung them against the wall. Sleeve garters. What pompous shithole club made their bartenders wear sleeve garters? Ragged breathing louder as he tugged at his shirt buttons, pulling the hem up from where it was tightly tucked into well pressed pants.

“Hey, hey, slow down,” Her voice made him jump, the gentle touch on his arm like ice until he looked up, world blurry, her face focused in slowly, then it melted and he felt that warmth again. “Can’t have you getting fired tomorrow for a uniform violation. Let’s do this right.” Holding out a hand, she waited until he nodded, then wordlessly, they stripped him down, standing in that hallway with that awful humming light that never shut up and the sound of the microwave beeping in the kitchen.

“One more day and we’re out.” Jo promised quietly, stroking a hand through Casimir’s hair as he slumped forward against her, “I can’t do this without my backup, so one more day, sweetie.” One more day and they’d celebrate, toast to a job well done, and then during the night she’d vanish again. Showing up a few months later with an excuse and needing his help on something. But at least they’d get to celebrate first.

Melodic Black/Death Metal band originally formed in Serbia, currently based out of Montreal, Canada.

The debut album by the black metal band Bane, is a testament to the genre’s atmospheric essence. Originally released in 2010, this album has garnered a dedicated following over the years.  Musically, “Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness” is a masterclass in blending aggression with melody. The band expertly weaves intricate guitar work, pummeling drums, and evocative vocals to create an atmosphere that is both oppressive and enthralling. Each track contributes to an overarching narrative of despair and nihilism, themes that are quintessential to black metal. Bane’s debut offers a familiar yet fresh exploration of the dark and mystical. The band’s ability to channel the icy, melodic essence of their influences while infusing their own stylistic nuances has cemented “Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness” as a significant release in the black metal canon.

Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness' was originally released in 2010 as a standard jewel case CD via Grom Records (sold out), then as a limited edition Tape edition via SDP (sold out), and finally re-released in 2011 on Digi-CD via Abyss Records, containing a bonus track. The album artwork was done by Marcelo Vasco (Slayer, Machine Head, Kreator, Soulfly, Hatebreed, Dark Funeral, Testament, Dimmu Borgir, Obituary, Borknagar, Mayhem, Vader, Belphegor, Enslaved, Ragnarok, Absu, Satyricon, etc).

I have the same notification alert! Had it for about 1,5 years now. Gets interesting looks from people in the classroom/wherever when I forget to switch on silent mode. Also gives me heart attacks in the middle of the night. I love it.
