I can very easily see Toshinori absolutely enamored with blues and soul music in the time he spends in the US, they’re so… quintessentially American. And while this isn’t a song about him, I can so perfectly imagine him jamming out to Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye and Al Green driving down the highway in an old Chevrolet.(I guess the above is technically a headcanon, but I’m gonna throw in another, anyway.)

For some reason nobody expects it, but Toshi does in fact know how to dance. He’s partial to waltzes, given the number of fancy galas he’s been invited to, but he’s also got a pretty good handle on the tango, a bit of swing, and he even learned a thing or two from Siberian Slammer when he was last touring through Russia.

     even with having trained to adjust to the new speed he had gained, tenya was prone to slip up in this process. it was a lot faster than he had anticipated, and sometimes, the bursts would knock him off balance. not the best when training in roof top rescue scenarios. 

     the dash to the edge was planned, he would use just enough to surge himself from this roof to the next, and land safely, continuing to run once he’d landed. it wasn’t planned that he’d accidentally use too much too soon, ending up practically throwing himself off the edge of the building. it was terrifying, the feeling of weightlessness and the jolt in his gut as he plummeted, wrenching his eyes shut and throwing his arms over his face, as if that would stop the inevitable from happening--

    appeared it did, though.

        the impact was still rough, but a lot more... comforting than he expected. out of instinct, even without opening his eyes, he clung to whoever had caught him, shaking like a leaf as the fear and adrenaline pumped through him. he was aware that one of the teachers would save him, at least, he was aware in this moment. during the fall, he was rather convinced that a stupid slip-up would be the death of him...

        his fingers curl into the back of his teacher’s shirt, his body still tingling from the fall and his heart racing, his head feeling dizzy as he held on like a child, his position akin to a koala with his legs wrapped around them as well.

All Might wanted to see him after class? That was- really worrying. Just- the most worrying thing in the entire world. Had he done something wrong? Had he disappointed the Symbol of Peace?! Had he forgotten to turn something in?! He hated that he didn’t know what he did- and hated how anxious it was making him. 

So he refused to make eye-contact as he waited for everyone else to file out.

The fire was being put out, all the people were safe, so Tensei finally let himself have a moment to process the fact that All Might had joined the rescue. 

Tensei quickly snaps his mouth shut and straightens, pulling his shoulders back to his full height, even though the blond hero still towered over him. “Thanks for all the help, All Might,” he says with an easy grin, lifting one hand in greeting. “It’s unusual for you to be called out around here, but, man, I’m glad you were here.”
