Despite knowing she's not getting it back any time soon she still lends money to him. And consistently, even though Mammon isn't really super into her interests, he's still attentive and keeps an eye out for stuff he knows she'd like. Levi's initial OG SSR story is sooooo good to me for this reason... in it Mams sells off like a good chunk of her games (major L) but it's specifically to get the money to buy a game she wanted but wouldn't admit to wanting (aww?). Like I mean, he tries. He gets her, and she recognizes that he can be genuinely kind sometimes also. They're a lot like this to me actually
