the tgirl st. sebastian
early in 2024, my protégé and lover @wholesalemagnesiumoxide was at my place when it thought of the phrase 'the tgirl st. sebastian'. i got up from bed (magnie was indisposed) and wrote it down on a page of its notebook -- today the heroine who walked, wounded and bleeding, out of that sentence fragment has completed her journey: told in twelve poems, available for free on my itch.io
i hope the character sketched in these poems can mean something to you the way she does to us

your poetry is great and conjures incredibly vivid imagery. i like the line "mycelial network server nodes" because it calls two things to mind:
1: the species of real life mushrooms evolving to consume plastic (bc of the lines about rot and crawling things and decay defying bones) the reference to plastic eating mushrooms conjures imagery of climate change and the way climate change is being worked on in our current capitalist system, which makes the poem seem more grounded in the contemporary world.
2: a combination of technology and nature. Mycelial network: the fungi that have existed on out planet for millennium vrs Server Nodes, an invention which is incredibly new considering how long our planet has existed. this combination of technology and nature or technology imitating nature is a theme the whole poem has, so this line encapsulates the whole poem, in a way.
overall it's an incredibly good poem and i kind of want to illustrate the "girl of the future" you described in it
thank you!! yeah i always have a lot of ideas swirling around about Going On The Computer and i think that bleeds into everything i write some way or another. it's something very visceral and organic to me in terms of how i conceptualize it. v. glad that works for you and i'm glad you liked it :)
#ask#nicey ask :)#ofc if you do illustrate any of my poetry let me see it i would be HONOURED#hierogyphic every particle#.
