Hearing the Penguins movie voices never fails to give me whiplash
The casino scene from Madagascar 3 but with cartoon cartoons stars, just because!
I feel like my animatic skills are getting better, though I admit this was kind of a rush job since college is starting up again. I hope to continue this crazy story someday, though.
Edit: I had a longer version I forgot to upload.

I'm not Catholic but I have a list of questions I need answered immediately, in no particular order:
Will this be the first pope to know what a hoagie is? (He went to Villanova, which means he spent a lot of time in Delco, so he must know, right?)
How would he personally describe the taste of Malört? (He's from Chicago, so there's a good chance he's tried it, right?)
Does he know of Gritty? (Corollary: Which of the deadly sins does Gritty most embody? I think it's between pride and wrath, but I would love a papal ruling on the matter.)
Which flavor of unhinged local pride does he prefer: Philly's "the greased light poles are a challenge and hitchhiking robots must be destroyed" energy or Chicago's "we reversed the flow of an entire river in a historic feat of civic engineering and the whole state of Missouri can die mad about it" can-do attitude?

I refuse to believe that Abby doesn't let herself "be stupid". Are you telling me she isn't a little curious when Hoagie proposes this wild and wacky idea that'll get them in trouble? Liar.
I've stated this in my last post but I'll say it again, "acting stupid" is not a measure of intelligence. Abby is very emotionally intelligent, however I feel sometimes she needs to be a little impulsive and goofy, too. Maybe that's by sneakily pelting Nigel with candy, or annoying Hoagie by untucking his button-up from his pants.
I already lean off on the idea of her being a therapist or mom friend, and if I do lean into it, I make sure the viewer knows that there's major consequences to her mental health. I feel she was written to be a bit robotic in some seasons, where she didn't quite have normal human reactions at points that she should've. I feel that, at heart, her true personality is the ones we've seen in things like DOGHOUSE, or how she acts towards Nigel with an occasional back and forth mockery of each other. She can be quiet and reserved, but I don't think she's quiet and reserved because that's who she is. She's quiet and reserved because it keeps her safe and stress free. If she trusts someone, she becomes the type of person to always jab at you playfully and lovingly, or the person who has reactions so vivid that her reaction itself is almost just as funny as a joke.
She strikes me as one of those, "gifted child" autistics. So does Hoagie. The two of them are children who were expected from a young age to meet impossible standards, and were repeatedly shunned for not being able to. The two of them were treated as adults before they even had a chance to experience childhood. They're expected to be the level headed person in situations and come up with a solution, even though they're still a child with intense emotions and big confusions about the world. If either of them try to act like an actual child, they get snapped at and told to stop being a brat. This is probably why Hoagie is so socially anxious (in scenes where he isn't the butt of the joke) and why Abby is so quiet and reserved. If they trust someone, they'll show the part of themselves they hide for the convenience of others. This could work as a great way to show their relationship together and develop it.

A Flicker Of Hope
Fandom: Codename: Kids Next Door
Rating: T
Summary: After a devastating revelation about his ex-girlfriend’s betrayal, Wally is left reeling with hurt and confusion. Hoagie, his best friend, steps up to offer comfort, offering him a safe space to recover from the emotional storm. As they unwind with a movie and settle for the night, Wally’s emotional wall begins to crack, and through a heartfelt message from Kuki, he finds a flicker of hope and love amidst the darkness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hoagie sprawled across his bed, one arm lazily propped behind his head, the other holding his phone just the right way to avoid the glare from his laptop. The blue glow of the screen bathed the room in a soft, shifting light, casting shadows across a desk cluttered with gears, wires, and open toolkits—a chaotic reminder of his latest invention spree. On the laptop, blueprints for his newest flying contraption were displayed, filled with messy scribbles and half-erased calculations. A soda can teetered on the edge of the desk, dangerously close to spilling onto a pile of half-eaten snacks below.
“I’m telling you, Abs,” Hoagie said, grinning as he shifted the phone to dodge the laptop’s glare. “This design is gonna blow Wiztech Robotics Club’s project outta the water. Literally. They’ll need scuba gear to fish out the pieces when I’m done with it.” Abby’s voice crackled faintly through the speaker, laced with wry amusement. “Uh-huh. Just make sure you don’t blow yourself up in the process, Hoagie. You remember the popcorn machine incident?” “Hey, that was one time!” Hoagie shot back, laughing. He absentmindedly traced the edge of his blanket with his fingers. “This is different. Precision engineering, Abs. Well, mostly. There was that one test flight where—”
A sudden, frantic pounding on the front door shattered the calm, the sharp noise echoing through the quiet house like a firecracker. Hoagie shot upright, nearly dropping his phone. “Hold up,” he muttered, sliding off the bed. He grabbed the hoodie draped over the back of his chair and pulled it on as he hurried toward the noise. “Someone better not be starting drama at this hour,” Abby quipped, but there was a trace of curiosity in her voice. “Unless it’s Nigel showing up to admit he actually misses us,” Hoagie replied with a smirk, tugging the hoodie over his head. The pounding grew louder, sharp and relentless, rattling the door in its frame. Hoagie’s frown deepened as he descended the stairs, the cold hardwood sending a chill through his bare feet with each step.
Outside, the faint yellow glow of the streetlamp spilled through the windows, casting long, eerie shadows that danced across the walls. "Alright, alright, keep your pants on!" Hoagie muttered, his voice barely audible over the pounding at the door. He shuffled down the dimly lit hallway, the faint glow from his laptop upstairs casting long shadows along the walls, making the house feel eerily still at this late hour. As he reached the door, Hoagie hesitated, his hand hovering over the lock. The steady thump of his pulse drowned out everything else, and a creeping unease settled over him. Who the heck would be pounding on his door at almost midnight? He took a deep breath, pushed the tension down, and turned the lock. The door creaked open.
"Wally?" The name slipped out, thick with confusion and surprise, tightening his throat as his eyes landed on the disheveled figure standing in the weak glow of the porch light. Wally looked like he’d been through hell. His usually messy blonde hair was a wild, tangled mess, and his jacket hung unevenly off one shoulder. Streaks of dirt and grime clung to him as if he’d walked through a storm. His hands were buried deep in his jacket pockets, and his foot tapped a restless rhythm against the porch, matching the tension in his posture. “What the crud happened to you?” Hoagie asked, his voice low and cautious, eyes scanning his friend for any signs of injury. “What are you doing here?” he added, glancing at the clock on the wall. “It’s almost midnight.” Wally’s eyes flicked toward him, then quickly darted away. His jaw tightened, and for a moment, he was silent, the heavy quiet making Hoagie shift uncomfortably.
Finally, in a clipped, impatient tone, Wally muttered, “Can Oi cum in or whot?” Hoagie blinked, momentarily thrown off by Wally’s curt response. “Uh, yeah. Sure.” He stepped aside, holding the door open wider. Wally brushed past him without another word, the cool night air slipping in behind him. His movements were stiff, hurried, weighed down by something Hoagie couldn’t see but could feel in the heavy atmosphere. As Hoagie shut the door, the metallic snap of the lock echoed louder than it should have, amplifying the uneasy silence. His phone buzzed in his pocket, a reminder that Abby was still on the call. “Hoagie, what’s going on? Who’s at the door?” Abby’s voice crackled through, distant and faint. “It’s Wally,” Hoagie murmured, his eyes following his friend as he disappeared into the kitchen.
The muffled clatter of cupboard doors opening and slamming shut filled the air, jagged and restless, matching the uneasy energy Wally carried with him. “What? At this time of night?” Abby’s voice sharpened through the phone, the static doing little to mask the concern in her tone. “What’s he even doing there?” “I don’t know yet,” Hoagie admitted, the knot in his stomach tightening. He ran a hand through his messy hair, the tension in his voice palpable. "But he looks like he’s been through hell. Really bad.” “Alright, but keep an eye on him, okay?” Abby’s voice softened, a quiet urgency threading through her words. “If it’s Wally, it’s gotta be something serious.” “Yeah,” Hoagie muttered, his gaze locked on the soft light spilling from the kitchen. “I’ll call you later.” After ending the call, he slipped the phone into his hoodie pocket and approached the source of the noise. Hoagie stopped short at the kitchen doorway, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene.
Wally was standing by the fridge, bathed in the pale light spilling from it, a carton of juice in his hand. The cap dangled loosely between his fingers, and the bottle half-raised to his mouth. But before Wally could take a sip, he froze. His shoulders stiffened as if he sensed Hoagie’s presence. Then, almost reluctantly, he shoved the carton back into the fridge and slammed the door shut with a loud, deliberate thud. Hoagie stepped forward, crossing his arms. “Okay, first off, gross. At least use a glass. And second, what the heck is going on? You show up here at midnight, looking like you’ve been hit by a bus, and now you’re raiding my fridge?” Wally didn’t answer. His jaw clenched as he turned away, his movements sharp and agitated. Hoagie’s stomach twisted when he saw Wally’s gaze flicker toward the upper cabinets—the ones Hoagie’s mom used to stash the liquor. It hit him instantly. “Oh, no. Nope. No way.”
Hoagie moved quickly, stepping between Wally and the cabinet, blocking his path with an outstretched arm. “You’re not seriously looking for booze, are you?” Wally’s glare could have cut glass. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, and his voice came out low and strained. “Move.” “Move?” Hoagie repeated, his eyebrows shooting up in disbelief. “Are you hearing yourself right now? Dude, what’s going on with you? You show up out of nowhere, looking like you crawled out of a dumpster fire, and now you want to drink? This isn’t normal, even for you.” “Oi… Oi jist need sumethin’,” Wally growled, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and desperation. His fists tightened, his whole body wound up like a spring. The raw desperation in his tone sent a chill through Hoagie. “Something?” Hoagie pressed, his voice softening as he dropped his arm slightly but still held his ground. “Like what, Wally? What’s so bad that you came here—of all places—looking like this?”
Wally’s hand hovered near the cabinet handle, his fingers twitching. For a moment, he didn’t move, his breaths ragged and uneven. His eyes flicked up to meet Hoagie’s, dark with exhaustion and an unspoken pain, before darting back down to the floor. Hoagie let out a heavy sigh, the tension thick in the air. “Look,” he said, his tone gentler now, “I don’t know what’s eating at you, but this?” He gestured toward the cabinet. “This isn’t it, man. Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out. Together. But you’re not getting trashed in my kitchen.” Wally’s shoulders sagged, the fight draining out of him. He stepped back from the cabinet, and the door swung shut with a soft click. His hands dropped limply to his sides. “Fine,” he muttered, his voice barely audible. Hoagie relaxed a fraction but kept his guard up. “Come on,” he said, nodding toward the living room. “Let’s sit down and talk. You don’t have to tell me everything right now, but at least let me help.” Wally hesitated, shifting his weight from one foot to the other as if debating whether to stay or bolt. Finally, he nodded—a small, reluctant gesture.
Without a word, he followed Hoagie out of the kitchen, his steps heavy and dragging. Hoagie watched Wally slump onto the couch, his frame sagging as if the weight of the world had settled on his shoulders. It wasn’t just exhaustion—it was something deeper, something jagged and raw, clinging to him like a shadow. Hoagie’s stomach churned as he stood frozen in the doorway, unsure how to enter the moment without disrupting it completely. Wally didn’t look up. His eyes were fixed on the floor, his hands hanging limply between his knees. The silence in the room was suffocating, broken only by the faint hum of the fridge in the kitchen. Hoagie swallowed hard, his throat dry, his usual arsenal of jokes and easy banter nowhere to be found.
He wasn’t good at this—at stepping into someone else’s pain—but the hollow look in Wally’s eyes wasn’t something he could ignore. It was the kind of look that gnawed at your chest, a silent scream for help that couldn’t be brushed aside. Hoagie hesitated, a knot of unease twisting tighter in his chest. Every instinct screamed at him to crack a joke, to ease the tension with humor, to pretend this wasn’t happening. But he forced those instincts down. Wally needed him, and running away—metaphorically or otherwise—wasn’t an option. Taking a deep breath, Hoagie walked over and sat on the coffee table across from Wally. He leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, and forced himself to meet his friend’s gaze—though Wally wouldn’t look up. “Alright,” Hoagie said, his voice steady but softer than usual. “What’s going on? And don’t give me the ‘nothing’ routine.
You know I’m not buying that.” Wally didn’t respond. His fists clenched against his thighs, the knuckles bone-white, and his jaw tightened like a steel trap. His chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths, and for a moment, Hoagie thought he might either explode or shut down completely. "Wally,” Hoagie said again, his tone quieter but no less firm. “Come on. You can talk to me. I’m not going anywhere.” For a long moment, it was as if Wally didn’t hear him, the tension in the room stretching taut like a string about to snap. Then, all at once, Wally exhaled sharply, slumping back into the couch. His hands dropped limply to his sides, and his head tilted back against the cushion. When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse, each word dragged out like it had been scraped raw.
“She dump’d meh.” Hoagie blinked, completely caught off guard. Of all the scenarios running through his mind, this wasn’t one of them. “Veronica?” he asked cautiously, leaning in slightly. “Yea’,” Wally muttered, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. It wasn’t so much a laugh as a hollow sound, sharp and empty, making Hoagie’s chest tighten. “But t’at’s not even the worst part.” Hoagie’s brow furrowed, his unease deepening into something heavier. “What do you mean?” Wally’s jaw worked as if he were chewing on the words, trying to decide whether to spit them out or swallow them whole. When he finally spoke, his voice cracked—low and heavy, dragging through the room like a weight. “She was cheatin’ on meh. The whole tiome. Wif one of mahy so-call’d friends.” The words hit Hoagie like a punch to the gut, stealing the air from his lungs. For a moment, he didn’t know what to say, his mind spinning with a hundred half-formed thoughts and no clear way forward.
“Wally…” he began, his voice soft and unsure of how to even begin. Wally let out another humorless laugh, his gaze fixed on some invisible point across the room. “Guess Oi should’ve seen it cumin’,” he said bitterly. “She’s always been good at pretendin’.” “No,” Hoagie interrupted, his voice firm and cutting through Wally’s self-deprecation. He reached out, resting a hand on Wally’s arm—a small gesture, but one that felt monumental in the heavy silence. “This isn’t on you. None of it.” Wally’s shoulders shook slightly, and for the first time, Hoagie realized just how close his friend was to breaking. The realization sent a fresh wave of determination through him. Whatever Wally was feeling right now—betrayal, anger, grief—he wasn’t going to face it alone. Hoagie leaned in, his tone gentle but unwavering.
“We’ll figure this out, okay? I don’t know how yet, but we will. You’re not doing this by yourself.” Wally didn’t respond, but the slight sag in his shoulders, the way his clenched fists relaxed even a fraction—it was enough. In that moment, it was enough. Wally let out a sharp, bitter laugh, the sound jagged and raw. “And yah now whot’s funny?” His voice trembled as he finally met Hoagie’s gaze. His eyes were red-rimmed and glassy, burning with an intensity that was equal parts anger and pain. A joyless smirk twisted his lips, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“oi'm not even mad at her. Ioim mad at mayhself. Of course she’d cheat on meh. Why wouldn’t she? Oi’m jist sum dumb, loudmouth idiot who’s not gud enough for anyone.” “Hey, whoa, whoa,” Hoagie interjected quickly, alarm flashing across his face as he scooted closer. His hands hovered in the air, as if he wanted to physically shake the self-loathing out of Wally. “That’s not true, and you know it.” “It is true!” Wally snapped, his voice cracking like a whip. He shot forward, gripping his knees so tightly his knuckles turned white, veins standing out in stark relief. His whole body shook, trembling with emotions he couldn’t contain. “Oi mess up everythin', Hoagie! Everythin'! Oi can’t be seen with any of mayh friends because oi’m the enemy! Mayh whole life’s jist mistake aftah mistake!”
His words came out in a rush, each one sharper and more cutting than the last, as if he were driving nails into his own chest. Hoagie froze for a second, the weight of Wally’s words slamming into him. This wasn’t the Wally he knew—the one who charged into every fight with fists swinging, who always managed to bounce back no matter how hard life hit him. This was a Wally stripped bare, raw, and vulnerable in a way Hoagie had never seen. And it broke him. “Wally,” Hoagie said quietly, his voice low and steady, cutting through the tension like a lifeline. He leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees, and planted himself directly in Wally’s line of sight. “You are not worthless. Not even close.” Wally scoffed and turned his head away, jaw tight. But Hoagie wasn’t letting him off the hook. He pressed on, his tone firm but unwavering. “Yeah, you screw up sometimes,”
Hoagie admitted. “Who doesn’t? But you? You’re one of the most loyal, brave, and stubborn people I’ve ever met. You care so much about the people in your life that you’d go through hell for them—even if you don’t always say it out loud. That’s why we’re all still here, Wally. Because we see you. We know you. And you’re worth it.” Wally’s shoulders shook, his face dropping into his hands as his breathing hitched. “Doesn’t feel lioke it riogh' now,” he muttered, his voice muffled and thick with emotion. “Of course it doesn’t,” Hoagie said softly, his tone gentler now as he leaned even closer, his voice steady but filled with warmth. “Because what Veronica and that jerk did to you? That’s not on you. That’s on them. You gave her everything, Wally, and she didn’t appreciate it. That doesn’t mean you’re not enough—it means she was blind. You deserve someone who sees you for who you are. Someone who values you. And you’ll find that person. I know you will.”
Wally pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes, trying to hide the tears that spilled over despite his best efforts. Hoagie hesitated for a moment, then reached out and gripped Wally’s shoulder firmly. “Listen to me,” Hoagie said, his voice serious, more so than Wally had ever heard it. “You’re my best friend. You’ve had my back through everything, even when I didn’t deserve it. And now it’s my turn. You don’t get to talk about yourself like that, okay? Because it’s not true. You’re worth it—to me, to Abby, to Kuki, to everyone who’s lucky enough to know you. We’ve got you, man. Always.” Wally’s breath hitched again, and this time, he didn’t try to stop the tears. Hoagie’s grip on his shoulder tightened, a silent reminder that he wasn’t alone. And for the first time that night, the weight pressing down on Wally’s chest felt just a little lighter.
After a long silence, Wally sat hunched over on the couch, his arms tightly crossed, frustration still etched on his face. His stubborn silence filled the room, but Hoagie wasn’t about to let him stew in it. He leaned forward, his expression softening slightly. “Okay, where’s that kid I met when we were ten?” Hoagie began, his grin playful but knowing. “You know, the one who wouldn’t shut up about beating up every adult in sight? The one who thought eating six donuts in under a minute was peak athletic achievement?” Wally didn’t move, his scowl deepening as he muttered, “T'at kid was an idiot.” "An idiot I liked, though,” Hoagie pressed, undeterred. “He was fearless. Loud. Kinda reckless—but in a fun way. He made everyone laugh, even when he didn’t mean to. And more importantly, he didn’t let anything keep him down for long.”
Wally scoffed, but finally lifted his head, glaring at Hoagie through narrowed, watery eyes. “Well, maybe that kid didn’t have everyone bailin’ on ‘im ‘cause he’s not gud enough.” Hoagie’s grin faltered slightly, replaced by a look of quiet determination. “Wally, c’mon. That’s not you talking—that’s the hurt talking.” He paused, watching his friend carefully, then leaned in closer. “Look, I get it—you’re mad. You’re hurt. You’ve got every right to be. But you’re not that kid anymore, because now you know your worth. Or at least, you should.” Wally shook his head, avoiding Hoagie’s gaze. Hoagie gave him a moment before continuing. “Listen to me—you’re still that same guy. Just older, a little wiser, and maybe a little less of a donut-devouring maniac. And you know what? I still love that guy. Platonically,”
he added with a teasing smirk to lighten the mood..Wally snorted despite himself, but his eyes remained clouded. “Yah’re such a sap.” “And you love me for it.” Hoagie shot back, grinning as he clapped Wally on the shoulder. “But seriously, man. Don’t let what she did make you forget who you are. You’re Wally Freakin’ Beetles. You’re brave. Loyal. And yeah, okay, maybe a bit of an idiot—but you’re our idiot. Abby knows it. Kuki knows it. I know it. You’ve got people in your corner, Wally. People who care about you more than you realize.” Wally’s shoulders sagged, the tension easing slightly. “Yah really don’t know when ta quit, do yah?”
“Nope,” Hoagie replied brightly, standing and offering his hand. “Now, get up. We’re raiding the snack cabinet and watching a movie. Your pick.” Wally eyed him for a long moment before finally sighing and accepting Hoagie’s hand. “Fine.” Wally rolled his eyes, but a faint smile tugged at his lips. For now, it was enough. The movie played on the TV, and the living room lights' soft glow created a calm atmosphere. Wally, still tense from everything that had happened, sat stiffly next to Hoagie on the couch. The space between them felt just a little too wide, despite Hoagie throwing an arm around his shoulders in an attempt to offer comfort. Wally leaned in slightly, enough to feel the physical proximity, though his body remained rigid, refusing to fully relax. His gaze flickered between the movie and his own thoughts, trying to distract himself. Hoagie kept things light, making jokes and playful comments about the ridiculousness of the movie’s plot, but his eyes kept darting back to Wally. It wasn’t like him to be this quiet, this withdrawn.
Hoagie could sense that there was something deeper at play than just the bad breakup. Wally’s shoulders were tense, his gaze distant, as if there were a weight on his chest he couldn’t shake. Halfway through the movie, Hoagie’s phone buzzed on the coffee table. He glanced down at the notification from the group chat—a series of messages sent in quick succession. He sighed inwardly, knowing this was exactly what Wally didn’t want: their friends checking in on him. Still, he reached over and unlocked his phone.
To: Mission Control
Saturday, November 2nd, 10:23 PM
SkyGenius changed the group name ‘ Sector V Squad' to 'Mission Control'
RainbowMonkeyQueen: Wait a sec, did the group chat name just change?!
Chill5Real: Mission Control? Really, Hoagie?
SkyGenius: Yeah, I changed it. Thought it was more fitting. We’re always on a mission, and someone’s gotta keep things organized.
UnoForce: It’s efficient. I approve.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: Okay, fine, but I still liked Sector V Squad better. 😒
Chill5Real: Don’t start, Kuki. Anyway, what’s up, Hoagie? You’ve been quiet.
Sunday,November 23rd,12: 39 AM
Chill5Real: Yo, what happened? Is Wally okay?
RainbowMonkeyQueen: What happened?! Is Wally okay?!? Is he safe? Has he eaten? PLEASE tell me what’s going on!!! 😡💔
UnoForce: Status update, Hoagie. Last we heard, he wasn’t doing great.
SkyGenius: He’s okay-ish. He’s a bit better than when he came here, for now… but mentally, he’s not okay. Found out Veronica was cheating on him the ENTIRE time—with one of his “friends.” Then she dumped him. He was already upset when he got to me, but after that… yeah, not great.
Chill5Real: YOU’RE KIDDING. She did THAT to Wally?!?
RainbowMonkeyQueen: WHAT?! 😡😡😡 HOW DARE SHE!!! UGH!!! Poor Wally!!!
UnoForce: Unbelievable. That’s not just cruel; that’s vile.
SkyGenius: Yeah.
Chill5Real: Nah uh. She’s on my permanent no-fly list. If I ever see her, it’s on sight.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: SAME. She better not show her face around us EVER again. She’s dead to me for what she did to him. 😡
UnoForce: The group stands united on this. Veronica’s actions were unforgivable. We officially hate her.
SkyGenius: He’s handling it better now, though. Just needs space to breathe. He’s being stubborn, so don’t expect him to talk much yet.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: I just wanna hug him so bad right now!!! 🥺
Chill5Real: Give him time, Kooks. He’ll let us in when he’s ready.
UnoForce: Agreed. Keep us posted, Hoagie.
SkyGenius: Will do. Don’t worry—I got his back
Hoagie glanced at his phone, seeing the group chat lighting up with messages from Abby and Nigel. He sighed and tossed it onto the coffee table before turning off the TV, the screen fading to black. The quiet that followed felt heavier, pressing down on him as he turned to look at Wally. Wally was curled up on the couch, a thick blanket wrapped around him. The usual energy that defined him was missing, replaced by a strange stillness. His gaze was fixed on the quilt draped over his lap, his fingers absently tracing its seams. Hoagie hesitated for a moment before sitting down next to him, the couch dipping slightly under his weight. "Alright, no more distractions," he said lightly, trying to keep things easy.
"Let’s just sit here for a bit, yeah?" Wally gave a small, almost imperceptible shrug, barely acknowledging him, but Hoagie didn’t mind. He leaned back, letting the silence settle around them. After a while, Wally’s posture softened just a little. The tension in his shoulders eased slightly, and Hoagie noticed his breathing slow, grounding itself in the quiet. When the silence felt a little less heavy, Hoagie glanced at the clock and stretched dramatically, letting out an exaggerated yawn. "Alright, buddy," he said, his voice returning to its usual easygoing tone. "You wanna crash here tonight?" Wally hesitated, his fingers still tracing the quilt as if seeking some comfort. "…If t'at’s okayh," he murmured softly, his voice unsteady. Hoagie grinned warmly and ruffled Wally’s hair. "Of course, it’s okay, man. You’re always welcome here."
He stood up, sneakers squeaking against the floor, and headed toward the hallway. "Sit tight—I’ll grab some blankets." A few moments later, Hoagie returned with a pillow and a thick comforter, carefully arranging them on the couch like he was setting up a little safe space for Wally. "Alright, there you go. Five-star accommodations." He plopped down beside him and gave Wally’s shoulder a firm, reassuring pat. "You good?" Wally shrugged, pulling the quilt tighter around himself, his face still unreadable. "Oi guess." Hoagie sat quietly for a moment, the weight of the unspoken words hanging between them.
Finally, he rested a hand on Wally’s shoulder. "Look, man. I know today’s been… well, complete garbage." His voice softened, the playful edge gone. "But you’ve got people who care about you—me, Kuki, Abby, Nigel. We’re all here for you. We love you, Wally. Don’t forget that." Wally didn’t respond immediately, his eyes fixed on the comforter in his lap. But when Hoagie pulled him into a quick hug, Wally leaned into it, offering a small, almost imperceptible nod. "Thanks," he muttered, his voice soft but sincere, a rare vulnerability slipping through his tough exterior. Hoagie pulled back, ruffling Wally’s hair with a light laugh. "Alright, try to get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning."
"Yea'. Nioght, Hoags." "Night, Wally." Hoagie disappeared down the hall, leaving Wally alone in the quiet living room. Wally flopped back onto the couch, pulling the comforter up over his head. He stared at the ceiling, his mind a chaotic swirl of thoughts that refused to calm. Sleep didn’t come easily—not with the weight of the day’s betrayal pressing down on his chest. Just as his eyelids began to droop, his phone buzzed on the coffee table. Frowning, Wally reached for it, the screen lighting up with a message from Kuki. He hesitated, holding his breath for a moment before opening the message.
From: Kooks
November 23rd, 2:10 AM
Hey💕
I know today’s been so hard, but I just wanted to say I’m proud of you. You’re stronger than this, and you’ll get through it—I know you will. You’re amazing, Wally, and you’ve always got me in your corner. Always. I love you, Wallibear. 💚
Wally froze, the words sinking in slowly. His heart ached as the warmth of her message spread through him like a slow-burning fire. The tightness in his chest began to loosen, the weight of the day lifting, even if just a little. His grip on the phone tightened, and for the first time that day, he felt the faintest flicker of hope. A small smile tugged at his lips, and though a tear threatened to fall, he quickly blinked it away. He began typing a response.
To: Kooks
November 23rd, 2:15 AM
Thanks, KookieMonster. love you too
He hit send, his fingers lingering on the screen for a moment before he set the phone down beside him. Pulling the comforter snugly around himself, he closed his eyes. Her words echoed in his mind, wrapping around him like a blanket of warmth. For the first time in days, sleep finally came a little easier.

For sector v, what was your favorite mission to do?
(Sorry for the wait, I was extremely busy this week)
Nigel: Easy. Any mission where we had to take down a major adult operation. The bigger the threat, the better. If we had to infiltrate a top-secret adult headquarters, dismantle some nefarious anti-kid device, or—
Wally —or spend hours sneakin’ around instead of actually fightin’? Boooooring.
Nigel: It’s called strategy, Numbuh 4. You should try it sometime.
Hoagie: Hey, I’m with Numbuh 1! The best missions were the ones with high-stakes action! Especially if there were crazy gadgets involved. Like that time I had to pilot a giant robot to—
Kuki: Ooooh! Or that time we saved all those adorable hamsters from being turned into evil robot minions! That was the BEST.
Wally: That was NOT the best! I had hamster fur up my nose for a week!
Abby: Psh, you’re just mad ‘cause they liked Numbuh 3 more than you.
Kuki: Heehee, they were so cuuuuute! I love any mission where we get to save something adorable. Or snack-related missions. Those are super important.
Wally: See, now Kuki’s got the right idea! The best missions are the ones where we actually get to fight! If I ain't throwin’ punches or takin’ down bad guys, what’s the point?!
Nigel: The point is to complete the mission without causing unnecessary destruction!
Hoagie: Yeah, but sometimes destruction is necessary. Like, let’s say you’re being chased by an evil dentist and your only escape is blasting through a wall—
Nigel: That was NOT the only escape, Numbuh 2. You just WANTED to blast through the wall.
Abby: Y’all are missin’ the real fun—undercover missions. You know, sneakin’ into enemy territory, outsmartin’ the bad guys, maybe doin’ a little candy heist while we’re at it… Those were the best.
Kuki: Ooooh, like when we had to wear those fancy disguises and pretend to be fancy adults?
Waly: Ugh, that was the WORST. I had to wear a TIE. I looked like a nerd!
Hoagie: That’s funny, ‘cause you look like a nerd every day.
Wally: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!
Nigel: Alright, alright, focus, team! We can all agree that the best missions were the ones where we worked together, used our skills, and saved the day.
Abby: Mmm-hmm. And maybe stole a little candy along the way.
Kuki: And rescued something adorable!
Wally: And punched bad guys!
Hoagie: And piloted something awesome!
Nigel: …Why do I feel like I’m the only one who actually cares about the mission itself?
Abby: ‘Cause you are, Numbuh 1. You are.

Hello! 👋🏻 My first question of the year 💟 What are the social networks of Sector V like? 📳 Like Instagram 📸🤳, maybe...
What kind of photos do they upload? Or stories... In the case of ♥️Kuki&Wally♥️ and 💙Abby&Hoagie💙, do they upload many photos as a couple? 🤭
I wish you have a nice new year! 🎊 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Hey! Sorry for the huge delay, I’ve been on hiatus. Anyway, thanks for asking this question!
Before I delve into each character, just a quick little disclaimer that I’m personally not super active on social media myself, so expect a bit of me projecting my personality onto Sector V in this post. Also, for the sake of convenience, let’s limit this topic to Instagram-type activity.
Okay, some general notes:
SELFIES. As far as selfies go, my Sector V kids aren’t really into it unless they’re taking a selfie with something or someone. That’s just to say that if you’re to go into their account, you won’t see a random selfie just for the sake of taking a selfie. If anything, you’ll see them taking a selfie with someone they love or with something they like.
ACTIVITY. While they’re relatively active on social media, it doesn’t rule their life. You’ll maybe see them post a story a few times a week, and an actual post once every few weeks. Maybe more so if they have a content creation account, but that's about it.
COUPLE PICTURES. As far as couple pictures go, I tend to think that those posts don’t come up until they’re more into adulthood. I say that because Abby and Hoagie don’t officially start dating until they’re in their early twenties, so by the time they do post a couple picture, it’s usually something more candid, like if someone snapped a photo of a loving moment between them. As for Wally and Kuki, you’ll definitely see couple posts of them when they're in their adulthood. There's definitely a photo of their wedding in there, or maybe a trip they took. During high school, however, they were more likely to show up in each other’s stories but not so much in an actual post. I’m not sure why, but I think it’s because they keep their relationship relatively private, so they’re just not into flaunting their affection.
Alright, without further ado, let’s talk about Sector V and social media! Allow me to organize this from the most active to least active member, and keep in mind that this takes place during their HS years:
HOAGIE. Hoagie has like a MILLION accounts. Okay, okay, maybe not a million. More like four, but that’s still a lot! The account he’s most active on is his Robotics account, which he’s mainly active on because of his involvement with his school’s Robotics club. (He’s president of the club, I think, but I haven’t decided that yet.) In this account, he mainly posts about club activities, so think stories about club updates and meeting times, photos of their latest developments, and reels of their competitions. It’s actually pretty neat! His second account is a public account where he creates content about all the nerdy things he loves! In this account you’ll mainly see reels where goes into a deep dive about his favorite books and comics, sci-fi or fantasy shows and movies, anime, video games, tabletop RPG’s, you name it! He’s actually quite prolific with this account and has developed a bit of a following. Just like his Robotics account, it's pretty neat! His third account is his personal one, which is a pretty average account. His posts are a combination of pictures with friends or pictures with family (we all know this dude is extroverted AF), pictures of him at events (likely comic conventions!), or just a picture of whatever fun, nerdy fixation he has at the moment (comic books, movie posters, games, etc.) As far as stories go, part of the time he’ll post about some foodie adventure he’s going on (#chilidogs). MOST of the time, however, he’s posting about whatever shenanigan he’s up to. And yes, Wally can be seen in the background of these post. His fourth and final account is basically a fan page dedicated to Abby (lol). Before you freak out, let me assure you that he has her consent! They both have access to the account, he never posts a picture of her without her approval, and she could veto any of the posts any time she wants. The account started during a phase where Hoagie was obsessed with photography (cameras…tech…gadgets…are we really surprised he became interested?), and between Abby being not one to post pictures of herself (more on that below) and her basically being his muse, the account came to life. As you would expect, the account is filled with pretty pictures of her, and they range from artistic portraits (sometimes in black and white), to casual photos of her hanging out. His favorite post, which is pinned on the account, is one where she’s laughing shyly. He snapped the photo during a time when he made her laugh even though she was trying to be serious.
KUKI. Kuki is a pretty average social media user, and as one would expect, her social media is filled with smiles! As far as posts go, she’ll post about things she likes - pretty flowers, yummy cupcakes, cozy cups of matcha latte, all sorts of Asian desserts, and of course, Rainbow Monkeys! As far as stories go, she loves to post happy little selfies with her family and friends, so expect to see a lot of that - maybe a selfie with her sister as they grab some bubble tea, a selfie with Abby while on a spa date, a selfie with Hoagie during a Rainbow Monkey shojo-reading session, a random selfie with a very busy Nigel. And of course, most often, she’ll post a happy little selfie with her very silly and very grumpy boyfriend!
ABBY. The best way I could describe Abby’s account is that it's like a carefully and artfully curated collection. Like if you were to go to any fashion magazine or music magazine account on social media, Abby’s content tends to look like that. She’ll post pictures of art prints that she likes, cool graffiti she stumbled upon, delicious food she’s about to try, or even better, delicious food she whipped up. She also likes to post stories about whatever music she’s listening to at the moment - simple ones, maybe just an image of the album cover while a snippet of the song plays. Interestingly, Abby doesn’t really post any pictures of herself. The most she’ll post is maybe an interesting outfit she put together, but she likes to take those in a way that’s artfully mysterious, so you pretty much never see her face.
WALLY. Hmmm how should I say this…? You remember Wally's room in the show? Both the one at his house and the one at the Tree House, both of which were very much a DUDE’s room, in the sense that it was basic and utilitarian? Weights and boxing gloves scattered everywhere, cracks on the wall, torn up posters… That kind of thing? Imagine that, but with social media. Not only are his posts sparse, they’re also comically random. Like the kind of thing that makes you wonder what in the world goes through a dude's head. If you were to go into his profile right now, you’ll only find five posts at most, and most of them are something random like a soccer ball or a boulder (don’t ask me why, the dude is a mystery). The only thing noteworthy about his profile is a pretty picture of Kuki smiling, which didn’t even show up until after they started going out. And no, he never posts stories, mainly because he keeps losing his phone. If a story ever pops up, it’s usually because Kuki stole his phone to take it, and the story is usually a selfie of her smiling, with him in the background, sticking his tongue out.
Nigel. I mean… Come on. Let’s be real. If not for the Student Council account, which he manages just for updates, this boy wouldn’t even have any social media. He only has one because Hoagie and Kuki convinced him to make one. His account has zero posts and literally doesn’t have a profile picture. Kuki was supposed to manage his account for him but he immediately put her on time-out when she tried to post a story of him with one of those cat-ear filters.
There you go! Sector V and social media! Haha, this was fun. Thanks for asking!

have you ever had the childish urge to make a "trailer" for your fanfic? I have. below is a spoiler tease for Cold Reception's next chapter, because I like to have fun too.
You asked.
So I said it.
There’s no hope in the world where we’re headed…
-
“Hey,” David’s soft voice sliced through the fog of her anxiety. From behind his brunette fringe, his eyes met with hers. His smile was small, soft, but trembled with the slightest bit of apprehension. Despite his own misgivings eating at him, he wanted to least offer, “We…we don’t gotta do this.”
His hesitance was watering for her own fears, letting them bloom again tenfold. Alessandra patted his hand reassuringly before gently breaking contact. Her gaze returned to the windshield. “We’re not doing anything yet.”
Nestled behind the radar station, Constance grumbled, “Sure doesn’t feel like it.”
“Numbuh 0.5,” was the warning growl, signaling she had been caught. The pigtailed girl flinched. Alessandra noticed and closed her eyes to sigh. “We’re just hearing him out. That’s it.”
-
Pissed off.
Offended.
-
“Then enlighten us, poindexter,” Bruce spat. He positioned himself protectively in front of his team, hands splintering the desk as he slammed them down. He snarled up at the adult menacingly. “Who would take in unruly, uneducated, dirty little street brats like us?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe…” Benedict sunk back into his chair, lips curling into a delightfully devious smile. “…me?”
-
There’s nothing we can do…
SO JUST FUCKING FORGET IT!
-
Abby landed sloppily, feet stumbling over vines and foliage. The balloon cobra was vicious, not letting up in the slightest. One stray trip and the girl found herself encircled in its tail. The rubber squeezed the air out of her lungs in a gasp.
Seeing this, Hoagie flew low in a desperate gambit to free her.
The Delightful Children merrily skipped forth, ignorant to their chaos, eyes closed and feeling the rain sprinkle their faces. They sighed ecstatically. “We can’t think of a morning—”
Abby freed an arm from the cobra’s grasp, waving and reaching towards Hoagie. His fingers brushed against hers, only to scream as a horde of robotic pinatas collided into his exposed flank.
“—where we haven’t woken up—”
With a scratchy hiss, the cobra jerked up its tail, jostling Abby around before slamming her to the ground. Her face was dragged through the mud, only to be brought up and forced to face the cobra’s masters.
Her eyes widened as crazed, vengeful blue ones bored into her soul.
“—to the thought of ANNIHILATING YOU!”
-
Take away the choice,
What
Have
You
Got?
-
“But…we’ll always be together,” Lenny whispered, tears blinding him as he buried himself into the team hug. “R-Right?”
Alessandra’s lips trembled, David and Bruce’s hands drawing her closer. She buried her chin in Constance’s hat, the smaller girl bawling into Alessandra's scruffy jacket. She mulled Lenny’s words, the unspoken ones loud and clear.
Everything they would give up.
Everything they would turn their backs on.
Every freedom they would forfeit.
“Of course we will,” Alessandra answered, steeling her voice. She went in, pulling her team—her family—close and never, ever intending to let go. “Forever and always.”
Benedict gave an agitated flick of his watch, foot tapping against the carpet. “Wrap it uuuuuup.”
-
It’s better to be loved,
For
What
You’re
Not.
-
The unfortunate truth, they learned, is you couldn’t have your cake and eat it too. They were the undesirables of society, the ones that fell through the cracks unnoticed. Their bond was one of trauma, shared grief, found family, and a whole mixture of things normal kids—lucky kids with loving parents, aunts, and uncles who wanted them would never understand.
So, if conforming to a man’s delightful ideal meant they would not be split and shattered, that would be how the cookie crumbled. To a child with nothing left, dealing with the devil was better than risking yet another unknown.
The Supreme Leader begged for them to trust her, but the truth is, they couldn’t.
Sector Z had no trust to give out like candy. For better or worse, they hoarded it exclusively among themselves.
For now and for always.
-
I better shut my mouth,
I’ve said too much…
-
“Why weren’t we worth it?” they shouted over the thunder. The machine’s fist brought him close and they grinned. Their expressions were mad, hair slightly askew, looking absolutely barbaric but the Delightful Children didn’t care. No, any and all imperfections would be nothing compared to the sweet, delicious satisfaction of them getting him to admit it! “Why didn’t you save US, Nigel!?”
And finally, after everything, Nigel let it all out as he couldn’t bother to pretend anymore.
“BECAUSE YOU RUINED MY LIFE!”
-
Just obey!
-
Hoagie grunted, kicking off the debris as he rose. Horror struck his core as the shadow of the Incredibly Destructive Machine eclipsed his entire body.
-
Pay the price!
-
“Tell the Kids Next Door we’ll miss them.”
-
Sell the dream!
-
The Delightful Children sneered. With a final roll of their eyes, they scoffed and mockingly asked, “Any last words…Soopreme Leaduh, sir?”
Fists trembling, body aching, but eyes burning bright, the youngest, the silliest - the last kid of sector V stood. Kuki watched as the Incredibly Destructive Machine was illuminated by lightning, poised for one final blow.
“…code: X-Seven-Nine.”
-
Don’t let the party die!
“Don’t Let The Party Die” – Sleeping With Sirens
While you wait, have some TEA. NURSE's orders.

𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄
You flinched at the sound of Lance slamming his tray down on the table, him angrily sitting himself down.
"Someone's madder than usual," you teased, taking a bite of your hoagie.
Ilana looked down at his plate, disgusted by the green mush he was shoveling into his mouth.
"How can you eat this stuff?" She asked, concerned.
Newton did a scan of the food.
"Nitrates, magnesium, mono-sodium glutamate. Actual meat content: one percent," he reported.
"Did not need to know that," you sighed.
'Thank God I get my food from a place.'
"One percent. That's horrible. People shouldn't be eating this," she suddenly stood up, "I have to do something."
"OhmygoshIlanapleasenothere-." "Excuse me, everyone! Hello! Everybody stop!" She interrupted you, standing up on the table.
"Oh my God, she's doing it," you groaned, covering your face.
"This food is unsafe, unhealthy! I think change is needed. I think it's time to demand healthier food. I wanna help. And we can start by creating a new school menu. Something nutritious. A healthy body means a healthy mind. We can band together and make this happen! Who's with me!?"
"I am!" Newton announced, standing up on his seat.
Lance facepalmed, and you dropped your head onto the table.
'I'll have to talk to her about social cues later.'
𝙨 𝙮 𝙢 𝙗 𝙞 𝙤 𝙣 𝙞 𝙘
"Smells like food in here. Whatchu guys makin'?" You smiled, walking into the kitchen.
"We thought we'd create some new menu items to petition to the school," Ilana answered, Newton pulling out a pan of something from the oven.
"Here we are. Fresh garin koto. I've substituted the Galalunian ingredients with Earth items, but it should be just as good," Newton stated.
"Galaluna? Now I'm interested," you awed, leaning over to smell the food.
Just then, Lance came thumping down the steps, walking into the kitchen as well.
"Octus, did anything come through the rift gate yet?" He asked.
"Not since you asked me ten minutes ago," the robot answered.
'Someone's getting antsy.'
"Hey! This gives you some time to try some of our new menu ideas," Ilana smiled, grabbing his arm.
"No, I'm not," he dismissed.
"C'mon, grumpy! You're gonna love it," she insisted.
"I made red beans with yam foo foo," Newton smiled.
You perked, "Really?"
"I said no!" Lance exclaimed, ripping his arm from Ilana and storming off, the pot on the stove ironically exploding as well.
"Lance, wait-." "Give him some time. I think Earth life is a little slower than Galulunian life. He just needs some time to adjust," you warmly smiled, placing an assuring hand on her shoulder.
𝙨 𝙮 𝙢 𝙗 𝙞 𝙤 𝙣 𝙞 𝙘
"Come to the food party. You don't have to eat slop anymore," you smiled, handing someone a flier.
"Delicious food, all for you to eat. Stop by at the food party."
Ilana sent you ahead to school early so the team could get a head start on passing out the fliers for the tasting party she was throwing, and you were happy to help.
Just then, you saw Lance not too far away, handing out fliers as well.
With a smile.
'No way.'
"Hey, Lance," you greeted, walking over to him. "I'm surprised you let Ilana talk you into passing out fliers."
"Hey, (y/n/n)," he waved. "I just figured I do her a favor. She is trying to help the school."
Your eyes went wide and your jaw practically hit the floor.
'(y/n/n)? He never calls me that. And he's expressing emotions that aren't anger and misery? Something's up.'
Just then, he was swarmed by a crowd of people, all of which forcing you to the back with Ilana and Newton.
"I don't get it," she sighed.
"Dark hair, bedroom eyes, moody demeanor. I totally get it," Newton smiled.
"And so does everyone else," you muttered, crossing your arms and turning away from the scene in front of you.
You couldn't deny, something was stirring in you at the sight of all those girls fawning over him, and it didn't feel good.
"At least we'll have a good turn out," Ilana smiled. "Anyway, did you guys hear about that Phantom Ninja on the news this morning?"
You perked, "Phantom Ninja? Who's that?"
"Some man went out last night and saved a hostage from a robbery, and beat up the culprits," she explained.
"Huh, odd," you nodded, glancing at Lance out the corner of your eye.
𝙨 𝙮 𝙢 𝙗 𝙞 𝙤 𝙣 𝙞 𝙘
After weeks of this ninja nonsense, and Lance being out of it constantly, you connected the dots and figured out that he was the Phantom Ninja.
While helping Ilana and Octus pack the car for the party later that night, Lance came walking out the house.
"I'll be right back, guys," you smiled at the two, walking over to Lance and grabbing him by his arm, pulling him to the side of the house.
"Hey, what're you-?" "Lance, I know you're the Phantom Ninja," you sighed.
His breath hitched, but he kept his composure, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You smile whenever a report about you comes up on the news," you cocked a brow, crossing your arms.
"You're out of it during the day, you're doing your Batman thing by night. This type of schedule isn't sustainable. Your body is going to shut down. What happens if your body gives out during a monster attack?"
"My body is fine," he retorted, crossing his arms.
"It's not just your body, but the fact that you're not supposed to be doing what you're doing anyway. Vigilante justice is illegal here. While I appreciate the passion in keeping the city safe, it's not your responsibility. But defending from otherworldly invaders is your responsibility. You gotta save yourself for when the real threats happen."
He sighed, trying to keep a hard face but clearly showing that he knew you were right.
"Look, I'm not gonna boss you around. You do whatever helps you cope with living on Earth. But I just want you to know there are other options, too. Like I said a couple weeks ago, we can spar if you want. I promise I'm a challenge," you smiled.
He cracked a small smile, "I'll think about it."
"Think about it?" You scoffed. "Sounds like someone's scared to me."
His facial expression quickly changed, "I am not scared," he firmly denied.
"Sure sounds like it," you taunted.
"I-." "C'mon, guys! We don't want to be late~" Ilana smiled, running out the house and into the car.
"Coming!" You called before turning back to Lance.
"Your hero stuff better be put on hold for tonight, though. Ilana worked really hard on this party and as far as I can tell from school, most of the attendants are only coming 'cause of you," you poked his chest.
"I'll be there," he assured.
"You better be," you sighed, turning around and walking towards the car.
"I'm gonna take a quick shower but I'll catch up with you guys," Lance stated.
"See you there. I put your outfit on your bed," you waved, hopping in the backseat and giving Octus the okay to drive off.
𝙨 𝙮 𝙢 𝙗 𝙞 𝙤 𝙣 𝙞 𝙘
"I'll kill him," you growled, doing another scan of the party to see that Lance was nowhere to be found.
He was late by an hour and a half and the party guests were starting to get antsy.
'I got all dressed up for this, too.'
You wore a black, long-sleeved, turtle-neck dress that came up to your mid-thigh, with some simple black heels to match.
"Where is he?" Ilana asked, concerned.
"I'll call him again," Newton stated.
"I thought Lance was gonna be here," Brittney Stone asked with a scowl, her and her best friend, Stacy McGinnis, walking up to you.
"He is...or...he's supposed to be," Ilana answered.
"So he's not coming?" Stacy cocked a brow.
Newton and Ilana shared a sad look, and Brittney scoffed.
"I can't believe we wasted our Friday night on this," she glared at Ilana.
"And I'll waste you if you don't start showing some respect. You were invited to the party, not to see Lance," you spat, furrowing your eyebrows.
"Pfft. What-ever," Stacy scoffed, rolling her eyes and walking away.
You turned to Ilana with begging eyes but she glared at you, "No violence."
Sucking your teeth, you watched as all of the party guests began to file out one by one, until no one was left in the gym except for you three.
"How could Lance do this?" Ilana asked sadly, watching as one of her banners fell.
"At least we have a lot of foo foo to eat....right?" Newton tried to cheer her up.
"Too soon, Newton, too soon," you sighed.
Just then, the doors to the gym swung open to reveal an alien, and you and Newton quickly jumped in front of Ilana.
The thing screeched, using one of it's tentacles to throw Newton into a wall.
"Bazooka!" You quickly remembered, dashing over to the corner of the room where you hid it, Ilana holding off the creature in her mech suit.
You grabbed it and set it up, aiming just in time for Ilana to get slammed into a wall.
"Get away from her!" You shouted, shooting the gun and hitting a bullseye on the alien.
It let out a deafening screech and quickly let go of Ilana, roughly pinning you to the wall instead.
Your head throbbed painfully, and you could feel the blood oozing down your forehead.
'Oh, shit.'
"Any last words?" The alien smirked, revealing a razor-sharp tentacle.
"(y/n/n)!" Ilana exclaimed.
Just as the creature was about to stab you, Lance's mech burst in and punched it away, you roughly hitting the floor.
"(y/n), I-." "Shut up and go get the alien," you strained, weakly sitting yourself up against the wall.
He zipped off to go catch up with the others and you sighed, touching your forehead and seeing the nasty, red liquid.
'This...was a huge wake up call. Maybe I'm not cut out for this stuff. These guys are trained soldiers and indestructible robots and warrior princesses and I'm just...me. Maybe I'm more of a hindrance than help.'
Once the battle was won, the three came rushing back to you, your sorry state making Ilana gasp as she took off her mech.
"Octus, what's her vitals?" Lance asked, kneeling next to you and carefully grabbing your chin, turning your head to check for any other injuries.
"Heart rate is accelerated. Only some minor contusions and a small laceration on the forehead. Other than that all other vitals are normal," Octus reported.
"It is not safe for her to walk in this condition. I will carry her."
"I got it, Octus," Lance sighed, scooping you up bridal style and starting the walk home.
"(y/n/n), I am forever grateful to you. You saved my life today," Ilana sorrily smiled, a good hint of guilt on her face.
"No sweat, Lana. What're friends for," you assured with a weak smile.
Lance slowed his walk, allowing Octus and Lana to get out of earshot before he began.
"(y/n), I-." "I asked for one thing, Lance. Show up to Ilana's party. And you don't," you interrupted curtly.
"You went crime fighting, didn't you? And I'm guessing you got captured by the creature?"
He hung his head and you sighed again, your eyes traveling down to his wrist, which had a bone sticking out under the skin.
"Oh my God, Lance! Your wrist! The monster did that?!" You exclaimed, all ideas of scolding going out the window.
"I did that. It was the only way I could escape," he stated plainly.
'Holy shit.'
"You shouldn't be carrying me like this. I can walk-." "Stop," he dismissed, tightening his grip to keep you still.
You looked up at him, eyes wide.
"You did what I couldn't today. You saved Ilana. If you didn't do what you did, my sole objective for this mission would've been destroyed," he started, keeping eye contact.
It made you red in the face, figuratively and literally.
"This is the least I can do to thank you."
You smiled, resting your cheek on his chest, "You're letting me patch you up when we get home."
He cracked a smile, ".....You too."
He paused, averting his eyes from you for a moment before clearing his throat.
"Nice dress."
"Thanks, blue boy."
𝙨 𝙮 𝙢 𝙗 𝙞 𝙤 𝙣 𝙞 𝙘
"All that work," Ilana sighed, you, her, and Newton coming across a stray banner that was still on the floor.
Returning to school on Monday, the cafeteria and gym were partially destroyed, leaving large, gaping holes in the roof.
Octus gave you a special patch for your head to stop the bleeding, and you used some of your training to give Lance a cast.
"If only Lance had just come."
"I know that foo foo looks bland and boring, and you're probably wondering, why eat it?" Lance explained from behind the counter, serving lunch.
His eyes suddenly looked up to see you, and he smiled a full smile, making your stomach do back-flips.
"But then you take a bite, and realize, that the blandness is a vital part of the meal, and is necessary to keeping everybody healthy."
He plopped some foo foo on Stacy's plate and she batted her eyelashes at him before walking away, the three of you walking up to him.
"You guys did some real good today," you smiled, Lance plopping some food on your tray.
Glancing up at Lance, you gave him a warm smile.
"I'm proud."
He smiled once again, and for a second you could've sworn you saw something pink on his cheeks, but decided to pay it no mind.

"I'm not a robot the size of a grown ass man. I am a grown ass man."
Tumblr media
Well, sort of. Nick gave a sigh of breath he didn't need as he shimmied his shoulders a bit to try and get some out of his chassis. "I'm not a robot-- robots are Mister Handy's or Securitrons. I'm a synth."
It was hard to sound dignified when he lifted a leg to shake a bunch of sand out of his trousers, all the while muttering-- "christ on a hoagie."
“Didn’t you hear? The jackass in his castle kept all the dignity for himself. None left for us rejects.” It was easy to act better than everyone from behind a big wall and a computer screen. When you were wandering the desert sunburnt, sweaty, and sandy, you just looked like everyone else.
Well, mostly.
Tumblr media
“All of my getting sand out of things expertise is for, like, shoes, not robots the size of grown ass men.”

[[Admittedly biased to your smaller fandom work but it’s either the KND scene where Abby does the “from here down, it’s all fake” reveal or the Detentionaire scene while the outcasts were being kidnapped!]]
She turned to give him a deadpan look. "Honestly, if it were up to Numbuh 5, I'd have ya sent home, but all I can do is try and convince you."
He stood, cradling himself on the rungs of the stool to hover at her height. Wally doesn't quite realize that tears are bubbling up. "And do what? Hold Joey and 'ave him freak out when he notices I ain't got the right parts? He'd feel it; what baby wouldn't? Listen ta' mom and dad laugh and joke while I gotta cruddy robot arm meltin' inta my shoulder?"
"It ain't easy." Numbuh 5 agrees. "But is it any easier here?"
He froze, then slowly slid back into his seat. He moved like an old man. "Least ya' get me. Least I don't have ta' lie."
"You took an oath, Numbuh 4." Abby's voice is gentle and sympathetic, but also firm. "It's what you swore you'd do. Our childhood ain't our's. It never was. We gave it up to fight evil, and they took it without even a second glance. It's like sellin' your soul- once it's gone you don't get it back."
"Abby?"
"Huh?"
"You've lost somethin', haven't you?"
"Baby, I've lost a little of everything. Just lookit my track record."
"I meant- ah, you know what I mean!"
Numbuh 5 is quiet. He can't see her eyes from under her hat, but he doesn't doubt she's staring at him with years of painful experiences. Finally, she pulls his hand up by the wrist, pressing the fingers into her side, right about the waist.
"From here down." She whispers, swallowing. Wally's fingers flinch. "It's all fake."
(Crud, 2016)
Tumblr media
Oh, man, this baby is still one of my favorites! I know the writing hasn't aged the best, but the concept behind it, the delivery... probably one of my best KND bits tbh. I had a long list of angsty headcanons that I drew forth for the fic itself, including what each scar was- Kuki broke her spine ejecting from bunny the first time, Hoagie lost his ear from a shootout while he was overdosed on chocolate (hence why he quit), Nigel's time with the Delightfuls. Abby's in particular was from a school about to be blown up from some sort of bomb, and she was pushing some kids out the doors and got caught up halfway. The whole thing was done on-scene and was very traumatic.
As for the Detentionaire 'fic- I kind of resent it? Because I had, like, this whole giant story planned of the outcasts trying to seize popularity via school elections post the finale, with a story about Cam getting kicked out for being bi and rooming with The Serpent and a race against the clock to stop Lee's weird bro from doing smth stupid. I was gonna add some steampunk body parts too. So while I like the oneshot, it feels like a taster for a dish I kinda threw out. I still have the notes I'd written out for it somewhere, too. And while I could rewatch and make it happen, lbr, it's just one show on a LONG list of stuff I need to rewatch, so it's gonna take a long ass time.

Teenage! Hoagie P. Gilligan
Appearance: Hoagie is 5'6 " with a pear-shaped build that reflects a sturdy and solid presence. His soft yet confident appearance comes from his rounder, relaxed physique, with a youthful, approachable vibe. His messy, short hair is often tucked under his brown baseball cap, and his iconic goggles are either perched on top of his head or over his eyes. Hoagie’s style leans toward geek chic, combining casual comfort with a touch of flair: he wears a black undershirt tucked into a white button-up shirt, with the top two buttons undone for a laid-back feel. His blue jeans are cuffed at the ends, paired with black and white sneakers that add to his effortlessly cool style. Accessories are kept minimal but functional, with a black leather bracelet, a watch on his right arm, and his iconic goggles and baseball cap always within reach. Though not the most athletic, Hoagie carries himself with confidence, balancing his tech genius persona with a relaxed, easygoing attitude.
Personality: As a teenager, Hoagie has grown into a more thoughtful and confident individual while still maintaining his classic quirky and inventive nature. His intelligence and technical skills have only sharpened, and he’s now known for his ability to come up with solutions on the fly, whether it’s for a mission or a personal problem. Despite his love for gadgets, he’s also become more grounded, learning to balance his nerdy side with a greater awareness of his surroundings. His loyalty remains unwavering, and he’s always ready to lend a hand—whether it’s fixing a broken gadget or offering support to those in need. While he still has a bit of a tendency to shy away from confrontation, Hoagie has become more assertive when standing up for his friends or beliefs. He’s no longer the bumbling, shy kid from his younger years, but a reliable and calm presence in the midst of chaos, showing that he’s matured into someone everyone can count on.

His quick wit shines when breaking silences or easing stressful moments among friends. While still playful, he’s learned to use jokes tactfully, ensuring they build camaraderie. Hoagie’s ability to lift spirits keeps his group united, showing that laughter can be just as powerful as determination in overcoming challenges.
Mildly Competitive: Though Hoagie enjoys gaming, his competitiveness remains playful and fun. Flight simulators are his favorite, where his piloting skills shine during casual matches or game nights. His relaxed attitude makes him a favorite teammate, balancing humor with occasional moments of brilliance. Hoagie loves surprising friends with unexpected victories, turning friendly competitions into memorable events. For him, it’s always about the fun, not just the win.
Quick-Witted in a Crisis: Hoagie’s quick thinking shines in stressful moments. Hoagie’s efficiency amidst apparent disarray highlights his ability to balance creativity and structure, surprising those who see only the surface.
Wants to Make a Difference: Hoagie dreams of making a meaningful impact through his technical skills. Though he’s no longer part of the TND, he channels his abilities into projects that could help others, such as prosthetics or renewable energy solutions. This drive stems from a desire to improve the world, using his creativity to solve real problems and make life better for those in need.
Takes Pride in His Work:Hoagie approaches every project, big or small, with enthusiasm and dedication. Whether designing robotics club entries or fixing gadgets for friends, he takes pride in the results. Sharing his creations with others brings him joy, and their validation means the world to him. For Hoagie, the approval of his closest friends matters as much as the success of the project itself.
Can’t Help but Fix Things: Hoagie’s passion for fixing things extends beyond his own gadgets. Whether repairing a broken toy or tinkering with household items, he’s always eager to help. His curiosity sometimes gets him into trouble, but his desire to improve what’s around him reflects his thoughtful nature. For Hoagie, every problem is an opportunity to create something better and lend a helping hand.
Struggles with Body Image: At times, Hoagie feels insecure about his weight and appearance, especially when comparing himself to friends. These doubts occasionally overshadow his accomplishments. With Abby’s encouragement, he’s learning to embrace himself as he is. Her support reminds him that his kindness, intelligence, and humor define him more than looks ever could. Hoagie’s journey to self-acceptance reflects his growing confidence in who he truly is.
Worries About Masculinity: Hoagie sometimes feels he doesn’t fit traditional ideas of masculinity. Sensitive and empathetic, he views himself as “soft” compared to stereotypes of strength. With her support, Hoagie is learning to embrace his authentic self, finding confidence in his unique qualities and redefining what it means to be strong.
Overthinks Things: Hoagie often overthinks, especially about relationships or future plans. He spends time second-guessing decisions like what’s next with Abby or career choices, leading to stress at times. Hey, Mysticons, what do you think of these episodes and how would you rate them?
Whistler Mishap - When Kuki gets a whistle and Roger comes to Sector V's treehouse to get recharged, offering 100 dollars if they successfully don't disturb him, Wally, Hoagie, Abigail and Nigel must keep Kuki from blowing her whistle in order to receive their 100 dollar reward.
King Roger - Roger swaps places with King for a day and things get demonic.
ARKAYNA: I think "Whistler Mishap" may be funny, but why would Roger choose to recharge in a place full of kids? I'd give it a six out of ten. "King Roger" seems pretty interesting though, so I'd give it an eight out of ten.
ZARYA: Eh, "Whistler Mishap" seems kinda boring, since there's no action. I'd give it a four out of ten. "Kind Roger" seems pretty cool though, so I'd give it a seven out of ten.
EM: "Whistler Mishap" does sound funny, but it would be good to explain why sound inturrupts a robot's recharge. I'd give it a six out of ten. "King Roger" seems like a good episode, so I'd give it a seven out of ten.
PIPER: Both episodes sound awesome. "Whister Mishap" seems funny, and "King Roger" sounds so cool! I'd give them both a nine out of ten.
