so i've got stuck on something simple and it's driving me insane
i'm creating a calendar to slot to the sides of the fridge in my kitchen set. and i really wanted it to be useful, not just random clutter, so i decided i was going to make it functional and have it bring up the real in-game calendar. cute lil idea, should be easy, yeah?
my god it is not easy
i can bring up the notebook and phone ui... every icon but the one i want. i have no idea what the command to bring up the calendar could be, and i've tried SO many
i was so determined to get it working i even ventured into python for the first time to look through the game files. for hours on end i've searched 'calendar' and 'event' and 'ui' and 'holiday' and 'dialog' and everything else i could think of, but none of the commands i try do anything
like who was i even kidding installing PyCharm 😭 over here breaking out in a sweat watching 'absolute beginner!! a baby could code this!!!' tutorials
anyway, i never get any responses posting in the Sims 4 Studio forum, but if any modders see this post 1) i apologize for being a novice on main and 2) i would be eternally grateful for your help, or even just a nudge in the right direction. the file is here and right now the interaction opens the phone
it grinds my gears to give up on an idea, but i've wasted an embarrassing amount of time messing with this. so for now, defeated, i'm going back to my microwave 😔
#ts4 wip#i can't help but think i'm missing something OBVIOUS#or maybe the sims 4 calendar ui is just the peak of human technological advancement and cannot be modified. idk#i know i will never take a “simple” cheat/mod for granted again

Easter Sunday is kind of the unofficial kickoff to spring beauty looks, in my opinion. I know spring was official on March 20th, but Easter time is my benchmark because my own mother always told me to WAIT to plant any new flowers until Easter Sunday arrived. This was because she said the potential for frost would be over here in Georgia. Which signals to me that spring is TRULY here on Easter! So today I am sharing wearble and easy makeup trends for Easter Sunday Makeup. This means that pastels, bright florals, and sunshine are the best reasons to dress up a little more than usual. Whether you’re heading to brunch, church, or just a reason for a special family gathering, it’s the perfect holiday to lean into a spirited makeup look that complements the season. Easter Sunday Makeup Trends For 2025, the beauty trends are all about glow, softness, and wearable color. And don’t worry, we’re leaving the glittery TikTok looks to Gen Z. This year’s trends are surprisingly age-inclusive with a few fun curveballs that us over-40+ gals can confidently rock. For my Easter look, I took a nod from the 1960’s mod makeup looks of Diahann Carroll and am showing you how to make it your own. Think the retro powder blue eye with stark graphic liner a la Twiggy, BUT, now with a softer approach like these inspo pics of Diahann. I think she looks so chic. Easter Sunday Makeup Trend: Bold Color I also took inspiration from the print in my floral print Amazon dress, $40, as I like to do when choosing my makeup looks and trying to tie in the makeup with the wardrobe! (wearing a size small btw.) Before we get into this look tutorial, there’s still time for everyone to take advantage of the Sephora Sales Event that ends on 4/14. So be sure to check out all of my recommendations on last week’s post, of what you should take advantage of during this sale that happens only twice a year! Turn on your JavaScript to view content 1. Skin Is In: Glazed But Grown-Up The Easter Sunday Makeup Trend: “Glazed skin” continues to dominate 2025—but it’s less about looking dewy and more about looking healthy. Think softly luminous, plumped-up skin that reflects light without looking greasy. How to Wear It: Start with hydrating skincare helpers. I chose to start with the iconic product from Peach & Lily, their Glass Skin Veil mist, $31, that I sprayed a generous amount over my moisturizer before I applied foundation. It acts like a pre-setting spray/primer plus glow getter! Highly recommend this K beauty product. Add in a light-reflecting skin tint or light foundation with a satin finish. I chose my Make Up For Ever HD Skin Hydra Glow foundation, in shade 2N22, $47. This 86% skincare based foundation is inspired by skincare sheet masks and delivers 24-hour hydration. It is ideal for dry, mature, and sensitive skin (not really for the oily skinned gals, sorry!). The featherlight texture melts into skin and looks beautiful. 2. Color on the Eyes—But Softer The Easter Sunday Makeup Trend: Watercolor lids are huge this spring, with soft washes of lavender, baby blue, mint green, or peach making a comeback. This is the fun part! How to Wear It: Skip shimmer-heavy shadows and opt for sheer satin formulas or matte shadows that blend easily. Try this powder blue eyeshadow look paired with navy eyeliner for a modern, spring-ready look that brightens the eyes. I’m using a pale blue-green-gray shade from an old palette, but a similar shade can be found here from Colourpop and I am using the Pixi Beauty silky eye pencil in “blue black,” $12. The key was to use just a dusting of the powder blue in the center of the eye, then add any neutral taupe brown/grey shade of shadow along your crease to ground it. I then tightlined just underneath the upper lash line, then added a small outer flick on upper lash line with the navy and smudged. Lots of lashes + bright waterline to finish it off. With any colorful eyeshadow such as this, I’d make sure to add this moonstone nude eyeliner, $9, into the lower waterline to make sure the eyes stay super bright! Leave the lower lash line bare of color of eyeshadow but be sure to coat your lashes in mascara with the Maybelline Sky HIgh mascara, $9 which is becoming a favorite of mine. Turn on your JavaScript to view content 3. Blush Draping for a Youthful Glow The Easter Sunday Makeup Trend: “Blush draping” is the technique of sweeping blush up toward the temples to lift and sculpt the face. 2025 is all about monochromatic blush looks—think blush that matches your lip color for a pulled-together vibe. How to Wear It: Choose a true pink – like the iconic Dior Rosy Glow blush, in 001 Pink, $40, that I’m using here. It’s the happiest shade of pink that has a subtle hint of luminosity. Take this blush up high to the sky for a facelift. Bonus tip: A touch of blush on the bridge of the nose gives that sun-kissed, happy look, like you’ve just come back from a springtime stroll. 4. Lips: Soft Statement The Easter Sunday Makeup Trend: A glossy lip balm is the perfect match to the mod eye look. No fuss of heavy lipstick or lip liner needed. This keeps everything balanced and not overdone. How to Wear It: Choose a hydrating lip gloss that gives a sheer tint of color while nourishing lips. If you haven’t picked up a L’Oreal Glow Paradise Gloss in Balm yet, $11, go get one! I chose shade “sublime magenta” to pair with my Dior pink cheeks. Easy breezy coordinating cheeks and lips! Turn on your JavaScript to view content 5. Radiant Skin: Glow and Blur Have you tried the miracle body coverage perfector by Westmore Beauty, $49?? I’m OBSESSED. I struggle with varicose veins on my legs and a little bit of age spots on my chest, and this stuff is truly like rubbing a blurring filter onto your skin. And it does not rub off on clothes! I added a little to my exposed chest here, and you won’t believe your eyes when you try this product – I’m wearing shade “natural radiance.” I applied mine with my Anisa Beauty body brush, $50. The Rest of My Easter Sunday Outfit Details Similar Kendra Scott drop earrings here, $80 in the dichroic glass shade that goes with everything! // My Amazon tie shoulder maxi dress, $40, in the green shade is just the cutest – very silky and comfy to the max. // Wearing those clear Target sandals again, $25, because they just go with everything and are mad comfortable because of the memory foam! The Unexpected: Makeup-as-Accessories Want to stand out a little this Easter? Then try this soft mod eye look. You don’t have to overhaul your entire beauty routine to feel fresh and festive this Easter. A touch of pastel, a healthy glow, and the confidence of knowing you’ve found your own way to wear makeup trends? That’s timeless beauty. Here are 3 other eyeliner + lip combos to try this Easter – get to practicing! About The Author Jennifer Duvall Jennifer is our beauty & makeup contributor. Smart Guide to Refurbishing Mobile Phones

I learned this the hard way after my “brand-new” Galaxy S23 started glitching six months in, while my friend’s refurbished iPhone 12 from Back Market is still kicking three years later. Here’s how to play the refurbished game like a pro.
Why Refurbished is the New Black
1. Your Wallet Gets a Spa Day Think of refurbished phones as the outlet mall of tech. For example:
New iPhone 15: $799
Refurb iPhone 14: 499(withwarranty)→That’s499(withwarranty)→That’s300 for a weekend in Vegas. Pro tip: Gazelle’s holiday sales drop prices another 20%—set price alerts!
2. Earth Gets a High-Five Every minute, 1.5 million pounds of e-waste hits landfills. Buying refurbished? You’re basically Batman for the planet. My eco-nerd friend tracks her “saved e-waste” like Fitbit steps—last year: 18 phones kept from the trash.
3. Secret Menu for Tech Snobs Want a foldable Z Flip but hate the 999price?Refurbishedmodelsgofor999price?Refurbishedmodelsgofor650. Crave that Pixel camera magic? Google’s refurb store sells them with factory seals. It’s like finding a Rolex at a yard sale.
Where the Pros Shop (and Avoid Scams)
1. Back Market: The Refurbished OG
Why pros love it: Their “Grade A” phones come with microscopic inspection reports (seriously—they check charging ports with magnifiers).
Watch out: “Grade B” might have hairline scratches—ask for close-up videos.
Hack: Use code “PHONENINJA10” for 10% off first orders (works as of July 2024).
2. Swappa: The Reddit of Phone Deals
Goldmine: Tech geeks selling barely-used devices. Snagged a Pixel 7 Pro here for 400(retail:400(retail:899) with original box.
Red flag: Sellers with no profile pic? Hard pass.
Pro move: Filter search to “Mint Condition” + “Seller Rating 4.9+”.
3. Amazon Renewed: For the Paranoid Buyer
Perk: 90-day returns—way better than Gazelle’s 30 days.
Gotcha: “Renewed Premium” means new battery; standard “Renewed” might not.
Secret: Check “Warehouse Deals” for open-box steals—found an S23 Ultra $200 cheaper than refurbished section.
4. Local Repair Shops: The Underdog Play
Shenzhen Special: Huaqiangbei shops sell “Apple Certified” refurbs with swapped batteries for 40% off. Bring a UV light to spot fake screens.
NYC Gem: TechCube in Queens offers free diagnostic tests while you wait.
7-Step Checklist to Avoid Getting Burned
Battery Gatekeeping
iPhones: Settings → Battery → Health. Below 85%? Demand a discount.
Androids: Install AccuBattery. If health <80%, walk away unless they replace it.
IMEI Sherlock Holmes Act
Free sites like IMEI24.com reveal if the phone’s stolen or still on someone’s AT&T plan.
The Bend Test (For Foldables)
Flip the Razr 40 Ultra 50 times. Hear a creak? Hinge grease is drying up—$150 repair waiting to happen.
Port Party
Bring a charger and test ALL ports. Samsung’s USB-C ports love collecting lint—clean with a toothpick if it’s loose.
Camera CSI
Film Screen Sleuthing
AMOLED test: Display pure red/green/blue images. Burn-in looks like ghostly app icons.
a 4K video for 5 mins. Overheating? Likely a repaired logic board.
Warranty Wars
Best Buy’s refurbished? 90 days. Back Market? 1 year. Always pick the longer warranty—I once returned a Pixel 6a 11 months in for a full refund.
The Dark Side of Refurbished (And How to Fight Back)
Scam Alert: The “Frankenphone”
Bought a “mint” iPhone 13 that died in a week? It was probably built from 3 dead phones. Red flags:
Mismatched serial numbers on SIM tray vs. settings
iOS version older than the phone’s release date (means logic board swap)
Fix: Open the phone (YouTube tutorials help). Genuine iPhones have Apple logos on internal parts.
The “Unlocked” Lie Seller claims it’s unlocked but it’s carrier-locked? Pop in your SIM card during testing. No signal? Demand a refund ASAP.
2024 Refurb Trends You Can’t Ignore
Self-Repair Kits: Motorola now sells Razr DIY hinge kits—99vs.99vs.249 shop fee.
AI Grading: Sites like Decluttr use AI to price phones—tilt your camera at specific angles for higher quotes.
NFT Proof: Some sellers now offer blockchain-based repair history. Nerdy? Yes. Helpful? Absolutely.
Final Word: Be a Refurbished Jedi
Last month, I watched a TikToker haggle a “broken” iPhone 14 Pro down to 300—thenreviveitwitha300—thenreviveitwitha20 battery swap. That’s the refurbished mindset: part bargain hunter, part tech MacGyver.
Ready to dive in? Start with Back Market’s “Grade A” section, avoid anything below 4.8 stars, and remember: in the refurbished world, patience = profit.
Happy hunting! 🚀www.oemphone.net

Creating a New Human Avatar - Best Time Christmas & The Holidays to Recreate Your Avatar

For those who don't know I recently got my old account back from when Second Life was separated into a Teen sector called the Teen Grid. There was a time when there was a teen section of Second Life and an adults-only section. When most of the Teen grid accounts were frozen due to not being of age for our accounts to be migrated to the adults-only side of Second Life I created a new account to continue playing. Recently I got an email about my older avatar and somehow obtained it back after paying $10 guess, there was a payment on it that I owed, but for $10 why not. Now the reason I was providing you with this back story. I needed to create a new human avatar. I started with a furry because it was easy to put together and didn't take too much money out of pocket to create. Plus it was cute and made my avatar look like I was there forever so it worked. But I always wanted to create a human avatar for this alternate account. What better time than the holidays to do this. Why? because everything is either on sale or there are shop events where things are given for free. The best time of the year to create a full avatar is during the holiday season for this reason. Read more below to find out how I made my avatar and my suggestions for creating a gorgeous avatar on a budget this holiday season.
As mentioned above, the best time of year to create an avatar is now due to sales, deals, and freebies from well-known and popular shops through creators who made items specifically for events for free.
The main event I suggest participating in is called "The 12 Days of Christmas" It is an event where stores collaborate together to provide free items just by joining their groups. I know for free members you only get a specific amount of group slots, so it's okay to join the groups and then delete once you get the items, I know a lot of people who have done that recently. What you do is you get the list of stores by going here - then once you have the list of stores, you click every landmark (I suggest going in order because there are a lot) and then find the group joiners in every location, join the group, and click the gift. A lot of shops have little icons leading to the gift but most of the gifts will be at the front of the store and are easily accessible and easy to find. There were only a few stores where I had a little bit of trouble. Sadly I don't remember them to place here but just know they are all on the first floor, check the bottom floor in the front of each store, if it isn't there then go searching. Most likely you will find a lot of people in the area where the gift is so just go where the group of people are as well and that's a tall tale sign that it is there. Tips of the trade from someone who just went through visiting all the landmarks.

Lelutka is currently giving away two free heads this holiday season. One for males and one for females, and let me say, this time around the free head is amazing! I could actually do something with it. In the past the head that was provided for free was called the Raven, I struggled to create an avatar with it. No matter what I did there was just something off about it. This time around there is a head called "The Camila Head" (females) and "The Camden Head" (males) The cool part this time around is Lelutka must have partnered with the store "~Cherry~" to have her make shapes around both heads there are two shapes available one for males and one for females at the "~Cherry~" store for these heads and I highly recommend picking them up. Currently, my new avatar is created with ALL the free items and skins from the event. You can create an entire avatar for almost nothing. The reason I say almost nothing is because if you don't have a mesh body yet you would need to invest in one so everything works seamlessly together. I have some tutorials in my past posts in my archives that you can look back at to learn more about mesh bodies and baked-on-mesh (BOM). Please look at the photo above if you want to see the shape, MILA Porcealon skin & lipstick, and the ~Cherry~ Shape for Camila. None of it has been edited I liked how it looked without further shape editing believe it or not. It's so easy to put an avatar together right now and get a lot of high-quality items for free or less than $10 Lindens at this time.
Lelutka 12 Days of Christmas:

For the Lelutka Heads you can see below for reference - apologies ahead of time, I couldn't get people out of the way, as you know all my photos are Raw and un-edited for a reason, I want people to see Second Life the way it is supposed to be seen, without edits in the photos. I find that important and it's what sets my blog apart from others. Anyway, I will also provide the link for this location here as well. This is a sandbox specific for the free heads for the Christmas holiday event.

What about the hair and clothes you ask? Well on the marketplace it is super easy to find clothes that are promo, free, or 1 Linden for the Maitreya shape more often than the others but there are a lot of free clothes and low-cost clothes on the Second Life Marketplace for the Ebody - Reborn shape which I did look into. However, where I feel you can get the most bang for your buck for clothes is by spending $250 Linden and being part of the Scandalize Group, which has well-made color HUD clothes that will always look different due to the color HUD so if you're just starting out in Second Life, you don't need to have an extensive inventory yet. Just enough outfits that look good and up to par with today's community standards. I did this and there were 115 outfits as "gifts" through the group I could obtain, now I have 115 outfits and 4 pairs of shoes just by joining that group. I'm telling you it's worth it for newer players and I 100% recommend it if you're just starting out. For hair, my recommendation is to join the TRUTH Group. They are a popular Second Life hair creator here in Second Life the group costs $350 Lindens to join, but is worth joining. There are about 25 "group hair gifts" that you can get right off the bat. Then as you continue to stay a member of the group there are more group gift hairs every month. Each group gift hair comes with a style HUD and ALL the color HUDS it is definitely worth the cost of the Lindens if you are new to Second Life. It's important to note I'm also not being promoted to provide you with this, this is strictly my opinion and recommendation from my experience recreating a new human avatar.
Scandalize Store - $250 Lindens to Join The Group - "Group Gifts"

Above are photos of the Scandalize store for reference you can visit the store by going to this link
Scandalize Store -http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Scandalize/115/198/19
as you can see if you join the group by clicking on the "Group Gifts Teleporter" it will bring you to a skybox with all the "Group Gifts" from the very beginning. This is also the "Area 99 - Promo" Section where everything is 99 Lindens which is a steal nowadays for well-made textured and mesh clothes for all body types.
~Cherry~ Shapes:

Better late than never but I just learned after 13 years in Second Life, I can de-render avatars in the area so they don't show, and was able to get a photo of the shapes at the Cherry Store for reference. Above are the shapes you can get, they were made to go specifically with the Lelutka holiday heads there is a shape for the Camila head and a shape for the Camden head.

You Will Need To Buy Your Own Body:
None are free during the holidays - they used to in the past.
You can't go wrong at this time of year, the only thing you would need if you don't have it yet is a body and there are a ton of different ones you can go with. It's all based on opinion and what you're looking for. If you want more of a curvy body and shape Ebody - Reborn is the way to go. If you want form-fitted and somewhat skinny the go-to and the body with the most appliers and outfits is the Maitreya body because it has been around for so long. With the Maitreya body, there are two to choose from the Maitreya Petite or the Maitreya LaraX. I have both but personally, I prefer the Maitreya LaraX. However, there are the Belleza bodies and you get three for the price of one which gives you more bang for your buck and comes with a skinny shape, curvier shape, and an average body shape. The only downfall is fewer clothes and appliers for that body compared to the Maitreya bodies. Again this is all based on preference and these bodies will run you about $2,750 Lindens (in-game currency) to obtain this is around the equivalent of $15-$20 USD. A lot better than $50+ for a well-made avatar up to the standards of everyone else in Second Life.
12 Days of Christmas Landmarks - Where can you get them?
You can get the landmarks by clicking the sign next to any of the shops you go to. For example, the one for ~Cherry~ Shapes has one of those signs next to the shapes click it and it will provide you with a folder with all the landmarks for the events.
Conclusion:
So there you have it! If you are new or trying to create a new avatar on a budget now is the time to do it. The holiday season always comes with its perks and "The 12 Days of Christmas" shopping event has pleasantly surprised me this year I'm glad I was able to partake In it and I hope you will too. I hope this post was helpful in your search for creating your best virtual self.
Until Next Time, Signing Off.
