āHear me out, okay?ā Sebastian started, holding up a piece of paper in his hand.Ā āIt isnāt just me, is it? This is English, but itās just... impossible to read.ā He glanced at the paper once again just for himself.Ā āI had family in Mexico send it to me because Iām trying to bake my dad a birthday cake and this is his favorite... but how am I supposed to actually do anything when I canāt read the recipe?ā

āItās pathetic, right?ā Addy sighed, running a hand through her hair.Ā āI mean, you think you know someone really well and then they spring this shit on you. They lead you on for months and you think that theyāre such a good friend and then one day, out of the blue, they have the audacity to say Back to the Future isnāt a good movie! I canāt believe it.ā

āTOMāS DINER WAS packed. Not surprising, given the hour.Ā It seemed half the town crammed in there for breakfast. Jack had never learned to cook ā at least, not without open fire ā so Tomās had been a regular spot for him. And he had little choice but to climb into the last unoccupied booth. The deputy was half way through his second coffee of the day when he notice someone enter, doing the customary scan of tables and seeing none were free. Jack raised his hand without hesitation.Ā āThereās a seat here, if you want it!ā He called.Ā āSo long as you donāt cause troubleĀ of course,ā He added with a wily grin.

Letting out a breath, Mack glanced slightly sideways at the person sitting beside her. She could tell that theyād been looking at her and trying to be subtle about it, but they werenāt doing a great job. Pulling out one of her earphones, she raised an eyebrow.Ā āIs there a problem? Or are you just looking at me for no reason?ā

āGABRIEL WAS DOINGĀ his usual Sunday evening routine, milling about the church as he sorted out his excess duties. He always stayed late on Sundays, if only to avoid going home a littleĀ longer. He certainly loved his family, and heād never admit it, but sometimes he just needed time away. Gabriel hadnāt been expecting anyone to come in. Hardly anyone besides the regular church crowd even approached the building, even less so as the day went on. So, when Gabriel heard the tell-tale creak of the wooden doors, he got up from his office and ventured into the nave.Ā āhello?ā He called, poking an inquisitive head into the room. There, he lay eyes on a person. Not just the wind, again.Ā āOh, hi there! Do you need anything?ā
#they could be there for anything! like directions or to ask about a fundraiser or whatever!!#ćāćĀ» hope seems like a summer bird || threads.#holidcystart

her face was flushed red from the exertion. her lean, muscular arms flexed against the wood sprinkling sawdust with every movement. damn horse had kicked a hole through the stable wall. she looked back at the beast, neighing with sure smugness and scoffed. hauling a few planks into her grasp she peered over at the figure standing in the doorway, face obscured by sunlight.Ā āwhatever it is, annaās out right now. youāll have to wait a couple hours before she gets back.ā

TO SAY MARSHALLĀ was paranoidĀ was the understatement of the decade. After everything that had happened to him, heād developed an almost compulsive habit of checking and rechecking the personal items in his wallet. Ironically, this constant shuffling put his belongings more at risk than if heād just left them alone. Taking his wallet out for what must have been the third time that morning, Marshall realized his driverās licenseĀ was missing. Heād been forced to retrace his steps, all the while muttering swears to himself. He probably looked far from approachable, but that didnāt stop him from calling out when he caught someoneās eye. āhey, hey!ā Marshall shouted, jogging up to them.Ā āLook, I lost my driverās license. Have you seen it anywhere by chance? I was here last time I took it out,ā Well, he hadnāt written off the human species as a whole. That was something.

It had never even occurred to Gabrielle that sheād arrived in Holiday right in the middle of the Fourth of July celebration. Her family had never celebrated it to the extent this place did, and with everything happening lately, itād just been a blip in the back of her mind. She wandered towards the barbeque a little slowly, not sure if she was even really welcome there since she was just here on a whim. But it got her out of her hotel room, and it got her thinking of something other than the place that didnāt feel like home anymore, so she was going to at least try. Smiling, she headed over to an empty seat beside another someone. āAre you waiting for anybody? If youāre not, would you mind if I took this seat?ā

āOkay but here is the thing, Iām working on new music right? And I was having a moment of inspiration the other night but I needed fuel...and for that I needed burgers.ā She knew that she was rambling at this point, but she needed context.Ā āNeedless to say, Iām half way through a song about cheese burgers, that will totally sell right?āĀ

āYou seen the beer tent?ā Finley asked, he didnāt think a small town event was going to be so big and confusing, but it turned out he was wrong. He didnāt know where the hell Addy had gone, but he was going to take the chance of being girlfriendless for five minutes to go and hunt a beer down before she could grass on him for his fake ID.Ā āI swear Iāve walked around this place like five times, and I have no idea, where the hell anything is.āĀ

THE MUSEUMĀ was always kept at a stable temperature, so as not to damage their small array of local artifacts. That made it a sort safe haven for townsfolk during the hot summer months. Gavin didnāt mind. The patronsĀ were usually quite polite, quietly browsing to escape the heat, and even occasionally asking him to delve into his well of knowledge. On that particular afternoon, he had been on the phone with a local, hoping to secure a family heirloom. The call had gotten quite heated, so heād allowed himself a browse to calm himself down. It wasnāt long before he heard footsteps behind him, and turned with a smile.Ā āgood afternoon, itās hot, I get it. No excuses needed. But let me know if you have any questions,ā
