#how to dream: sleep and halucinate

I noticed that your aliens looks like Na'vi from Avatar, and I'm wondered, what was your inspiration when you were creating your aliens?

I also interested in about to know more about them

Well, I watch sci-fi movies since I was a kid and this basically shaped my imagination. And Avatar had a really HUGE impact on me. The na'vi, the creatures, the amount of details... Everything was very magical and incredible, no wonder why you think there are a few similarities with them. Since I always loved this kind of "straight" nose feature that the na'vi have, I applied this design on Reeda and many of other ocs. But It wasn't a direct reference, I would say that at first it was more a "subconscious" thing rather than intentional.

Later, it kinda became intentional because I want to make it look right, so I have been studying the structure of their skull to make it right. I also got a bit of inspirations from Venom for her metamorphosis and head shape:

I think that most of my creations might carry some inspiration from Avatar because the visuals are simply stunning and it's a way for me to simply pay homage to one of the films that shaped my imagination. Here are other examples too:

About the inspiration, what inspires me is the sence of wonder that the characters can have and what I want them to be. If I feel they need to be scary, I get inspired by the horror and the unknown. If I feel they are misterious and "beautiful", I get inspiration from birds, animals and the essence that I want them to portray.

But my biggest inspiration is this little sentence: What if...?

What if I create a person mixed with a manta-ray?

What if... I make a monster that isn't what it seems?

What if I mix birds and magic to create something new?

Explore the limits and possibilities of stories is what inspires me✨️ This little sense of wonder is what keeps me moving forward.

And there's one more crucial thing: I also dream a lot.

Like... lucid dreaming. Dreams with stories with part one, two and three, new characters and designs coming here and there, epic stories and tales that I feel the urge to write. I just naturally have this mini oniric universe inside my head and I have too much information, so I never run out of ideas! NEVER! (It makes me crazy sometimes, too much information)

I have wrote about eight dream journals untill now. This is what boosted my creativety, inspiration and even improved my memory. I can remember with details several scenes after waking up. And in many of them, I dreamed with my aliens. I dreamed Reeda I also dreamed the blue merman above. I dream them and I just know what to draw.

Well... I think I got a bit carried away and I wrote a gigantic thing, lol

My tip to be a better creatir is: be a dreammer and see the little wonders of the world, it can help a lot with your creativety ✨️

Man I just got over two days of a halucination level fever (dont worry not covid im prone to these with my issues) I dont know if I should watch this movie cause it's mere existance also seems like a fever dream. I did fall asleep to a play list of @foundfootagefestival a vcr party live and then hummed the theme song all day in my sleep so I guess my mind is already broken. Aaanyways I totally forgot I had this tape, I think I got it at a tape swap at @farsidetoronto (i so miss events and life). Aaanyways history seems to forget that this movie existed. It feels like a large comedy whith a big set piece during a plane crash that couldn't have been cheap. Staring two actors that were actively at the time very sucessful tv stars. The jokes are pretty weird but not unlike many movies that would come out only a few years later. Pinchott is supposed to be endearing but is honestly kind of annoying but again I think if it was a few years later people would have enjoyed him. Larroquette however is fantastic as always. In general it's not great , ok its pretty dumb, but there was so much mega bullcrap from that time that its still weird how lost and forgotten this silly pyschic dective agency movie is. Maybe its not real, maybe I'm halucinating still.

“Have you guys ever think what it would be like to marry Izumi?” Tsuzuru asked from his perch on the sofa. 

“Izumi? Our director?” Sakuya replied. His hands stopped their typing movement on his laptop, halting the making of his assignment. 

“Yeah, who else named Izumi and known by all of us?” Itaru replied sarcastically. He was on his gamer mode with his casual yellow jacket and fringe up in a small ponytail. They still couldn’t believe he was the same as the all smile Itaru in the morning. 

“Hmm...I think she would be a gate wife!” Citron shout happily.

Tsuzuru sighed “You mean ‘great’ not gate. What do you think she is?”

Itaru snorted and the small movement made his character gotten killed. His grin turned into a scowl.

Sakuya thought again. 

“I think so too. She is smart, cute, charming-”

“-and could make you have a curry overdose” Again the gamer said. His thumbs busy pushing buttons so his character wouldn’t die for the second time. 

“Personally” Tsuzuru started “She would be a good wife as long as she doesn’t cook curry every day. I would definitely cook once in a while to balance her”

“Izumi will be perfect as she was mature in age and she will cook everyday and we will have kids, twins i hope, a boy and a girl. We will name them the same name as the stars we saw in the night and-”

“Okay okay stop!” 

“Leave him be. He can’t be stopped” Yuki told Tenma, another piece of Omi’s cookies popped into his mouth. 

“What do you think, Yuki?”

Yuki almost choked when Muku suddenly turned to him. 

“What? About marrying Izumi? No way I’m marrying her”

“Ehhhhh why?”

“Have you seen her choice of clothes? They’re hideous”

“Really, Yukkin? I think her clothes’ designs are great!” Kazunari suddenly stepped into the conversation after making another onigiri for Misumi. The blue haired boy was happily received and munching the onigiri while saying muffled triangles.

Tenma actually laughed out loud.

Sakyo asked, newspaper crumpled in the corner when Autumn’s youngest member came to him with a question in mind. 

“Yeah-ssu! You are the only one here whose age is near director! I’m so jealous of you” Taichi said. The high schooler was in his uniform, have eaten his breakfast, and ready to go. If he wasn’t waiting for Juza. The purple head was slow to wake up and have to be awaken by one of the eldest of the troupe member’s.

“The only good think about that girl is her passion in acting. Nothing more nothing less”

“Aren’t the two of you have known each other the longest though?” Omi came in from the kitchen with more toast in tow. Right at that moment, Banri and Juza just came out of their room. Both in uniforms but sleepy eyes. At this point, they just knew Itaru’s game schedule through Banri and Juza has been having a night ride since he gained his license. ‘To give Muku a safe ride’ he said. 

“What are you talking about in the early mornin” Banri asked in a yawn. 

“About marrying Izumi” Taichi chirped. 

“WHO!?”

“Taichi is asking what we think about marrying Izumi. Considering Sakyo’s history with the director, he obviously has the biggest chance of marrying her off” Omi explained while handing Banri and Juza their piece of toast. 

“Marrying Izumi? Nah, I’m not into older woman. Juza here maybe..” Banri snickered.

“Why me?”

“So you can smooch off her, idiot”

They just knew it was a recipe to a great disaster

“HUH? WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?”

“What are you doing, Azuma-san?” Tsumugi asked as soon as his eyes noticed his troupe member. Azuma was sitting in the sofa with pictured littered on the table surface, all of them were of their director, Izumi. 

“Where did you get so many of them?” he asked again, following up his previous question. 

“From Omi. He is a member of a photograph club at his university. I asked him for photos of Winter troupe play. Did you just come back from running with Tasuku?”

“Yeah. He is still warming up” Tsumugi sheepishly replied “Why is all of them pictures of Izumi?”

“I was sorting every pictures he gave to me. These are the last ones. I think I will give these to her. What do you think, Tsumugi-kun?” Azuma flashed one of his natural smile to Winter troupe’s leader. 

“I think they came out great”

“No, I mean have you ever think about marrying our Izumi?”

Tsumugi’s skin immediately colored in red from face to his neck. 

“Uh I..never think about it” he said after calming down. He then took one picture in his hand, the one where Izumi looked extremely pleased and beaming at the stage “But I think she will look great in wedding dress”

“Isn’t she?” Azuma chuckled. 

Tsumugi cleared his throat. 

“Anyway, what about you, Azuma-san?”

While Tasuku gave another tilt of his head, Azuma just smiled there and Tsumugi chuckled nervously. They really didn’t know what to answer Homare.

Lately, Hisoka has changed. He could be coaxed to speak without marshmallow nearby. But don’t expect your question to be answered fully. You will need that smoooshy white goodness for that.

“Izumi...make marshmallow?”

“I don’t think so. Unless you want curry taste marshmallow”

The shot was right into her soul. “Ika, no!” The guy shouted. He called her by her name. Ika With the last power she had she turned to the guy. “D-Don’t stand like this!….Huh….Run!” And he ran. Shouting for help.

But nobody came.

The guy with gun was mad. But at the same time…impressed. Ika was about to loose consciousness. But the guy with gun told her the last words she managed to hear. “It was a brave way of you to do it. What is your name, kid?”

“Noooo!” She woke up. The alarm clock was too loud that saved Ika from this nightmare. Ika looked around. To be sure if she is in a real world. Meanwhile, the alarm clock was loud and showed 06:00. She turned it off. Why did she put an alarm clock at this time, she didn’t know. But Ika was sure in one thing. That dream was again. She signed. Ika: This dream again…Damn. She stood up and went to the bathroom. Ika got used to have the same dream over and over. Ika looked at the mirror. Ika: Every day, the same dream comes to me. Why? What does it want to say? Why doesn’t it go away? She signed. Ika: I think i’m slowly becoming crazy. It was a month since she had such dream. And whatever she did, nothing helped to get it away, or to have another dream. Ika washed her face and brushed her teeth. Putting on her clothes, she went down to the living room. Ika wore her light blue t-shirt, black and red skirt with brown belt, violet jacket with hood and black boots. She also has her favourite red poncho, but she doesn’t feel like wearing it now. Ika turned on the light and came to the kitchen. She checked her fridge, but it was empty, as usual. She smiled ironicaly. Ika: Hehe, empty as usual. Well, i guess it’s Grillby’s day again. She went out of the kitchen and turned off the light. Ika was always lazy to go and by some products. Nobody knows why it’s so difficult for her. She doesn’t have a job, but somehow she has some money to survive. It was an enigma for her and everyone. Ika went to the table in the living room where a bag of money were, and took it. She checked it. Ika: Alright, how much do i have? Hmm…Not so many, but enough to buy some food at Grillby. She put a bag into her pocket, took keys and went out. Ika: I hope Carmen will not be mad at me because of food. Like last time. When Ika went out, she looked around. Ika: Huh? No one is outside. Maybe it’s too early for walk. Ika: Well, i’m going to Grillby’s. Again. She smiled silly. Shiro smiled and crossed her arms. Shiro: Empty fridge again? Why don’t you buy food at the shop for home? Carmen: Well, i will go back to work. Have a nice breakfast, girls. Ika and Shiro: Thank you. Have a nice day. And they began to eat. After breakfast (if it’s actually can be called breakfast), girls went for a walk in Snowdin. Ika: Fresh air. I didn’t feel it for a long time. Shiro: It’s because you didn’t come out of your house for a long time. Ika smiled silly Ika: Yeah, maybe you’re right. Snowdin was lovely and snowy as usual. Snowdrake tells jokes, a small mouse stood with a scarf. Everyone did their things as usual. But this moment changed when Ika heard something. “No, please, help!” Ika: Huh? Did you hear that, Shiro? Shiro: Yeah. Someone must be in trouble. Let’s go and checke it out. Voice sounded more scared. “Don’t do this to me!” Shiro: Let’s go, Ika! She was about to run, but stopped. She looked at Ika. Ika, wait! And Shiro ran after Ika. But Ika was faster. Who knew that she can run so fast. Ika ran and ran deep into the snow forest. Ika: Don’t die! Please don’t die! Everything around Ika was darkness. Darkness like in her dream. Was it that dream again? Or is it reality? Ika didn’t have time to think. The only thing she needs to do is save. Save “him”. Finally she comes closer and closer to “him”. One second and the shot will happen. Ika: Don’t hurt him! And she felt on the snow. Shiro finally got to Ika. Shiro: Ika! She came to her. Shiro: Ika, are you okay? While she talked to Ika, two monsters looked at them very strangely. A cat monster: Excuse me, but about whom did you talk about? Ika tries to get herself on. Ika: Uhhh, what happened? Shiro: Thanks god you’re alright. What the hell was that, Ika?! Ika didn’t understand what Shiro talks about, but after looking at two monsters, she understood. It was not her dream again. It was her halucination. A dog monster: We were just playing snowballs, but because i don’t like this game, i asked Sam to stop throwing snowballs into me. Sam: Tim begged me to stop, then this girl ran and shield Tim. Then she fell down. How embarrassed Ika looked right now. If monsters could see her aura, it would be very red. Shiro: Ika, what the hell is wrong with you? I told you let’s go and check, but you just ran like a light. Ika: I-I….I-I don’t know…w-what happened to me….I’M SORRY! She stood up and ran into the woods. Shiro: Ika, wait! But it was too late. Ika lost into the woods. Shiro: Damn! Now i lost her. Great. Sam: If you want, we can help you. Tim: Yeah, i can try to find her with smell. Shiro: Thank you so much. I would be really apreciate it. Sam, Tim and Shiro went for Ika’s search. But they didn’t know that she ran to Waterfall. Ika hided in the cave under the waterfall. Ika: I knew it. I’m becoming crazy. This fucking dream. It’s because of it i’m crazy. Ika began to cry. She have never fell so ashamed because of her halucination. Well, she felt it sometimes when she is cooking with Undyne, but this day….It was a nightmare for her.

My Lilith

Lilith in Pisces represents the dreams, fantasies, uthopia, focused on some endless horizons and the infinity of everything, which is why she sometimes feels driven out of her far house to Earth and among people that mainly do not understand her. Because of the need not to experience the end, because of the fear of losing or crumbling of ideals, these people can for years endure a strange state of life that is not of the heaven or from the Earth, believing in something that is long gone since. She is a good friend (although she will sometimes exhibit false compassion and interest in other people’s problems) but when it concerns them – there the blockade happens, losing the grip. This is where great self deceptions come from and every attempt of the environment to pull this person “into rationality” results in her even greater isolation. The Avatar movie also gave me some creative opportunities. For a very long time, I was also inspired by another cartoon, "Treasure Planet," and looking at these two amazing fandoms, I finally slowly began to form one fan project in the form of a comic, that I start to draw from 2020 year(?) I think.

And so, in the end I come up to unusual crossover with concept of

"What if Pandora from Avatar was in Treasure planet?"

And then I finally start to create a scenarios-moments, and I'm still doing it time to time, because the story isn't finished yet.

The most thing that at one moment come to me, is that I create a new subspecies between Na'vi and Ursid aliens

I called it "Na'virsid"

I noticed that your aliens looks like Na'vi from Avatar, and I'm wondered, what was your inspiration when you were creating your aliens?

Well, I watch sci-fi movies since I was a kid and this basically shaped my imagination. And Avatar had a really HUGE impact on me. The na'vi, the creatures, the amount of details... Everything was very magical and incredible, no wonder why you think there are a few similarities with them. Since I always loved this kind of "straight" nose feature that the na'vi have, I applied this design on Reeda and many of other ocs. But It wasn't a direct reference, I would say that at first it was more a "subconscious" thing rather than intentional.

Later, it kinda became intentional because I want to make it look right, so I have been studying the structure of their skull to make it right. I also got a bit of inspirations from Venom for her metamorphosis and head shape:

I think that most of my creations might carry some inspiration from Avatar because the visuals are simply stunning and it's a way for me to simply pay homage to one of the films that shaped my imagination. Here are other examples too:

About the inspiration, what inspires me is the sence of wonder that the characters can have and what I want them to be. If I feel they need to be scary, I get inspired by the horror and the unknown. If I feel they are misterious and "beautiful", I get inspiration from birds, animals and the essence that I want them to portray.

But my biggest inspiration is this little sentence: What if...?

What if I create a person mixed with a manta-ray?

What if... I make a monster that isn't what it seems?

What if I mix birds and magic to create something new?

Explore the limits and possibilities of stories is what inspires me✨️ This little sense of wonder is what keeps me moving forward.

And there's one more crucial thing: I also dream a lot.

Like... lucid dreaming. Dreams with stories with part one, two and three, new characters and designs coming here and there, epic stories and tales that I feel the urge to write. I just naturally have this mini oniric universe inside my head and I have too much information, so I never run out of ideas! NEVER! (It makes me crazy sometimes, too much information)

I have wrote about eight dream journals untill now. This is what boosted my creativety, inspiration and even improved my memory. I can remember with details several scenes after waking up. And in many of them, I dreamed with my aliens. I dreamed Reeda I also dreamed the blue merman above. I dream them and I just know what to draw.

My tip to be a better creatir is: be a dreammer and see the little wonders of the world, it can help a lot with your creativety ✨️
