can you give me any spoiler free propaganda for playing isat
Queer people ‼️ Lots of them, including the protagonist. Discussions about queerness too that are nice to see
Really really sad and occasionally utterly devastating. This is a plus if you like angst
Enjoyable characters who are all unique and loveable with fun dynamics to think about
Character dialogue is filled with personality
TIME LOOP ‼️
Loop
Loop
There's Loop
They're a star-headed freak what's more to love
The fandom is really nice and welcoming. It's that comfortable size on the smaller side of not being so big that it gets awkward but just sizeable enough that there's a lot of encouragement going around
Look at Loop actually

They're annoying and call you stardust, it's great
12. The art in this game is so charming, look at how cute this Siffrin is

Incredible. Breathtaking. Show-stopping. Cutest fella you've ever seen
13. Fun to find secrets since the game kinda messes with your perception of progress
Do keep in mind that the game has trigger warnings, and that anyone is always allowed to ask me about them if they have concerns
youtube
(^ I usually pull up the Switch trailer since it's easiest to find but it's available on Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC)

Stay the night | Wanda Maximoff
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Prompt: "The weather is getting worse. Why don't you stay the night?"
Masterlist | Marvel masterlist | Words: 1.7k
When Wanda moved into the neighborhood with her two sons a couple years ago, you had quickly befriended your new neighbor. Since then Wanda had become a good friend of yours and you’ve watched the boys a lot over the years, you often worked from home, so you offered to watch them whenever you could. Recently you and Wanda had started dating, everything was still rather new, and you hadn’t told Billy and Tommy yet, though Wanda was convinced they wouldn’t mind it since she knew that they already loved you.
It was Christmas Eve, you had just come back from the store, deciding that you could spoil yourself for Christmas. You bought yourself a PS5 after enjoying your PS4 for a long time. While you were installing the new Playstation, an idea popped into your head, so you reached for your phone to send Wanda a message. Y/n: Hi Wands, I just installed the new playstation, and I was wondering if maybe I could gift my PS4 to the boys. I know they always love playing on it when they are here. I wanted to run it by you first though, what do you think?
Wanda: You got it! I know you’ve been wanting it for a while, so I’m so happy for you :) I think the boys would absolutely love that but after all these Christmas expenses, I don’t think I have the money to buy it from you..
Y/n: Oh no, don’t be silly, a gift is free of charge x
You smile at your phone, Wanda was such a good person, and such a good mom.
Wanda: Are you sure? Y/n: Yeah, of course, 100%. I can bring it by tonight after the boys go to bed, that way you can put it under the tree. Does that work for you?”
Wanda: Thank you so much, you are the best. The boys are going to love it. I’ll text you when you can come over. See you tonight x
You pocket your phone and continue installing your new Playstation. The rest of the day goes by quickly, and you light up when you receive Wanda’s text. It had started raining a bit, so you grab your coat and an umbrella, before you make your way over to the Maximoff’s. You text Wanda to let her know that you’re at her door, not wanting to wake the kids. You smile when you hear Wanda’s footsteps reach the door, but your smile falters when you notice how stressed she looks. “Hey, sorry, I still have a lot of wrapping and preparing to do. Vision just dropped off some stuff for the boys, and left them all unwrapped, so I have to do double the wrapping tonight.” You reach out for her and bring her into a hug. “It’s going to be alright, I can help you wrap the gifts.”
Together you work on wrapping the gifts, making fast progress as a pile of red and green presents filled the bottom of the Christmas tree. Wanda was getting visibly less stressed now that you were there helping her out. Outside it started to rain harder, and the wind was picking up, neither one of you was paying much attention to it though, as your focus was on the presents and each other.
When you were done wrapping all the presents you took a little break before you would have to clean up the mess you had created in the living room. Wanda makes her way over to the couch, you follow her and pull her down with you. “You are an amazing mom, you know that right?” She leans her head on your shoulder. “Thank you, darling. You know that you are an amazing girlfriend, right?” You smile and kiss her head. “Yeah, we’re both pretty great.”
After sitting down for a moment, Wanda notices the weather outside, and turns to you. "The weather is getting worse. Why don't you stay the night?" Your brows furrow slightly. “Are you sure?” You had stayed the night before, but never when the boys were also home. “Yes, I know your house is closeby, but I’d rather not have you walk outside in this. Plus, I would love it if you spend Christmas with us, and I think the boys would too.” After placing another kiss onto her head, you tell her that you would love to spend Christmas with them as well.
Together you clean up the makeshift wrapping station that was the floor, as well as some final touches on the present placement, before heading to the kitchen where the boys left out some cookies and a glass of milk for Santa. The two of you share a look before both grabbing a cookie, and eating it, making sure to leave a lot of crumbs on the plate. Wanda takes a final look around the living room, “Ready?” You hold your hand out for her to take. She nods, “Yes, it looks beautiful. Thank you for all of your help.” She takes your hand, and you head to her room. “Any time.” You say with a soft squeeze to her hand.
Christmas morning started by the boys knocking loudly on Wanda’s door, “Mom, wake up! We want to see if Santa came.” Even though it was a rough wake up call, you smile at the eagerness of the twins. “Why don’t you go to the kitchen and check if he found the cookies and milk, and I will be right down to check out the tree with you boys.” After you hear them walk downstairs Wanda turns to you. “How do you want to do this?” She asks you. You place your hand on hers, “However you want to, I’ll follow your lead.” You share a quick kiss, before you both make your way downstairs in your Christmas pajamas.
“Mom, he ate the cookies!” Billy said as soon as Wanda reached the kitchen. The boys both run to hug her, not having noticed you yet. “That’s so exciting! I bet that means he left some presents for you as well.” The boys jump up and down excitedly. “Boys, before we head to the living room, I wanted to check with you both if it’s okay if y/n joins us for Christmas this year.” Both of their eyes widened, “Yes, please mommy, that would be so much fun.” Tommy shares. Their excitement warms your heart. “Merry Christmas!” You say walking down the rest of the stairs, they both come running into your arms. “You’re already here!”
You eat a quick bite before you check out the living room, a tradition Wanda created because she knew how much the boys would be into their toys later. As you are cleaning up the plates, Billy turns to Wanda. “Mom, we know that you and y/n are together, you don’t have to hide it from us. We just want to see you happy, and y/n makes you happy.” Wanda looks between her kids, they know? “You two sure are smart and observant, boys. So, you’re both okay with that?” They both nod, “Can we go check if there’s presents now?” Wanda smiles, “Yes, we can.”
Wanda shares a happy look with you before following the boys into the living room. The boys were ecstatic, looking at all the presents under the tree, pointing out the ones that had their names on them. You loved seeing the family so happy, and took a lot of pictures of the boys unwrapping the gifts, knowing that Wanda was too busy with living in the moment with her kids to do so.
“Mom, Santa left a present for you too!” Billy exclaimed, as he handed his mom a small box. Wanda was confused since she didn’t buy herself anything, wanting the focus to be on the boys. She unwraps the box and finds a jewelry case, filled with a beautiful necklace. She shows her kids and then also shows you, even though she knew that this was your doing, as it was the necklace that you saw her looking at last week when you were walking around the mall. “Thank you Santa!” She says, just like the boys do after opening their presents. “Help me put it on?” She asks you. You take the necklace from her hands and gently hang it around her neck. The boys had gone to find their next presents, so Wanda quickly thanked you for the gift. “It’s beautiful, thank you so much. I feel bad that I didn’t get you anything yet, I swear it was on my list, but I must’ve forgotten about it.” You shake your head and place a soft kiss on her shoulder, “You gave me the best gift, spending Christmas with you and the boys.”
After the boys are done unwrapping all of their presents, and have played with a few of them, you quietly ask Wanda if it’s okay to give your present to them now. She nods and you get their attention. “Hey boys, I know Santa has given you a lot of amazing presents, do you think you have room for one more present?” They both nod their heads like their life depends on it. You grab the present from the cupboard, “This is a gift from me.” You say as you place the present down on the coffee table. Both kids stand up to hug you and thank you, before even knowing what the gift was. They work quickly on opening the gift, eyes widening upon realization. “You’re giving us your PS4?” Tommy exclaims. “I am indeed. I think you will have a lot more fun with it here.”
You promise the boys to set up the Playstation tomorrow, wanting the boys to spend the day playing with the toys that their parents got them. While they are busy playing with their new toys, Wanda takes you to the kitchen. “Merry Christmas, darling. Thank you so much, I’m so happy you joined us for Christmas.” You step into her open arms and wrap your arms around her waist. “Merry Christmas.” You say back and kiss her lips softly.

I hate how most people who play RDR online and mostly grown adults. I don't have a problem with them having fun but it feels a tad bit weird
To be honest, I've never played rdr2 online (as much as I'd want to!) As I don't have ps4 plus nor the time to make spending 120+ a year on it worth it 🙏😭. So im so sorry I dont know much about it but I get you I get uuu being outside the average age demographic of something online is never nice 🙁
When I was playing games when I were younger with a much older/younger average players I used to just join discord servers from that game and make like friendgroup specifically my age of it, so I didnt have to force myself to try play online with someone older then me becaus that felt a lil weird. Would that work for you too if you struggle the same as I did? 🤷♀🌟☝️
But ,what do you enjoy doing on the game ?? Is it a bit like a free roam thing where you can just interact with other players for like a roleplay and fight or is there like a storyline you have to follow? I would send u an ask but ur anon which is fine tho 🙏❤❤‼. Omg I looked up the online game before answering and saw some clips of Miss MacFarlane now I'm REAL jelly😭🙏🙏 . BAE DONT LET THE GROWN ADULTS RUIN YOUR TIME BAE THIS SHI LOOK FUN AS HELL I WISH YOU GOOD TIMINGS ☝️☝️
Edit cuz I realise I sound like an ass pls pls pls no hate to adults who play obvi this game for generally 18+ targeted I'm just speaking about how it's like when u different from the normal age target, which is totally outta ur control so just hav ur own annoyances I love yall so much
Thanks for talking to me 💕💕💕and happy new year!!! 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣🔥🔥

my thoughts on khux and kh mobile games
Now that the dust has settled, missing link has been cancelled and I think this marks an end to kingdom hearts mobile games as whole (or at least for now). Unchained X released in 2016 and Dark Road released in 2020 and ended in 2022. For about 6-7 years we received kh mobile games and it's difficult to describe their impact and influence on the series.
Pros
A brand new story told in a new way.
When khux released on ios and android it introduced an brand new, live update form of storytelling on probably the most accessible kh platform to date. It's practically impossible to do anything without a cellphone and khux covered that market. Like fans waiting for a weekly manga or tv show, khux regularly released new story cultivating a fanbase and tension that other kh titles can't do.
Plus khux added a lot of new characters and a lot of lore and story that can't be done in the traditional titles. Being a cute 2D mobile game allowed devs to shove hours and hours of content and characterization which wouldn't be possible outside of novels or books or multiple games.
We met so many new characters and grew alongside them. Union Cross and Dark Road despite their cute aesthetics managed to craft unique and at times gruesome storylines that many argue are some of the best in the series.
A sense of community
I am still in the discord with my khux guild and I still remember those raid bosses. Not only could you create your own avatar and "keykid" but you got to talk with other guild members and other content creators about the story. Fan theories about whose the traitor, or the future of ventus and laurium, about the master, about ava. Sure we still theorize about what's to come in every kh game but not in the same manner.
I still remember the day lauriam was revealed as a dandelion because strelitzia died mere moments prior and everyone was convinced he was the traitor. The whole fandom was shaking and yelling and there was so much excitement and energy. Being able to experience those moments with everybody at the same time was wonderful.
Accessibility
I touched on this briefly earlier but by being a mobile game, khux was potentially many people first interaction with the series.
In 2016 there were no All-in-one collections, we had just started received the 1.5 and 2.5 editions but those were only for playstation so most of the series was out of reach for a lot of people. A large portions of the franchise was still spread across a lot of platforms (DS 3DS PS3 PS4) and khux was on a platform that many people had access to. It brought new fans and new people to the franchise.
Especially in regions like Japan, mobile games are incredibly popular. A lot of people don't have time to go home and turn on their huge PS5 or want to lug their Switch around to school, having mobile games is a great way to play games virtually anywhere you can get a signal.
And besides most importantly these are free to play games. You don't have to spend $60 to $70 on a game and another $500 on a console to play these games.
Cons
predatory gacha game
Khux was a gacha game period. Yes it had colorful gameplay, fun characters, and interesting story but you really couldn't access any of that if you weren't strong enough to beat story missions and for that you needed medals and hours poured into the game to level up your keyblades.
These games are fundamentally exploitive and exist to drain consumers of money. As someone who has played many gacha games (sw, gi, wuwa, love nikki, crk, crob) and continues to play them the biggest stain on their existence--no matter how fun the combat, or interesting the characters, or how beautiful the world and music is--will always be that they are money hungry projects designed to strip you of your money.
Sure kh3 alone for the ps4 is like $60 + $400 for a ps4 but regular gacha spending rates can easily climb to the thousands with $30 packs, $100 packs, battlepass, other subscriptions. $5 montly battlepasses will cost $60 within a year. If you spend any regular amount of money on these games over time the prices skyrocket far beyond any console platform game.
Daily login rewards that force you to login everyday for in-game currencies or limited time events that are designed to keep your screentime and money focused on the game. All of these are just ways to keep you spending and nothing to do with crafting or enhancing the kh universe.
that's not to say that can't be fun or that you are obligated to spend money but they are gambling covered in cute aesthetics. khux's value in my regard will always be less than the others titles just for being fundamentally what it is. A game whose purpose and story will always be overshadowed by the amount of jewels and money you pour into it.
Accessibility...
the problem with live service games is that they will one day come to an end. Outside of the ginormous ones who have been running for decades, many of these mobile games will eventually die. khux was no different and doubt missing link would have stood the test of time either. These games were fated to die and all of the hours and money you have spent in them were doomed to die along with it.
you can still play 358/2 days, you can still play re:coded, you can still play the original chain of memories for the gameboy advance. Those games will exist forever! They are physical games with physical hardware (though you can pirate them too) their stories will always be told and their gameplay will always be accessible.
the only way to experience khux is to watch 10 hour videos on youtube.
this accessibility issue is only amplified by the value it has on the series. Everything in khux from the dandelions to the foretellers will impact the rest of the kh franchise. Such crucial and vital storytelling is effectively lost forever.
Will kh remedy this? Yes probably. The plotpoints in khux will likely be rehashed and retold in future kh titles. But will every detail and characterization from khux make it into kh4 or 5 or whatever? No that just not feasible nor really necessary as the story focuses on Sora. Sure they can integrate some lore through books or collectibles but this experience can't be replicated outside of brand new game.
Especially for dark road. You have backstory about the main antagonist for the first 15 years of kingdom hearts be locked away in gacha hell and eventually completely gone. You can't even download khdr they took them off the app store!
khux was the most accessible and inaccessible kh property to date. And given square enix's current executive moves and strategy I don't see them reinstating khdr any time soon or dedicating any time to it outside of integrating story elements into the next major installments.
Gameplay and Investment
When khml was announced I think many of us were excited until we saw Mobile GPS game. With combat and gameplay locked behind gacha and being so different from the traditional action rpg mechanics of the main titles many old kh fans were fundamentally disinterested in anything mobile. Personally, myself included. With kh4 sitting right next to missing link I found it hard to care about anything about it when it wouldn't exist in 5 years.
When khux came out it filled a void in the kh series. Post DDD was chronologically the penultimate title to KH3 and there was nothing coming out between that time (other than 2.8). khux gave players something to do while we wait. While I think missing link intended to serve the same purpose I think it fundamentally failed to capture the interest of many.
Whether it be the GPS mechanics, its short lifespan, or that KH4 loomed right next to it, many people didn't want to invest time and effort into something that would reach end of service the second KH4 released.
No matter how fun khux was the game was not meant to live long after kh3 and I think many people have learned from that.
Conclusion.
Do I think the khux and the mobile games are wholly bad? No.
The light of the past from KH3 and watching all those names appear on the side of the screen was one of the most magical feelings I have ever felt in this series (and one of my favorite moments ever I remember filling out that form before kh3's launch). Knowing that even though khux is gone, the fans and people who played it are forever engraved into the series makes me happy.
Arguing with people over whether ventus was the fake or who killed strelitzia or the future of the dandelions was great. Decorating my keykid with cute outfits or messing with medals was fun. I remember waking up in the morning to do Raids and running around disney worlds with our friends.
But I also remember spending $80 to get Illustrated Kairi EX in her debut then NOT getting her and becoming disillusioned with gacha games forever and never spending a dime on a another one (maybe thats also a good thing).
All things come to an end, and I have long gotten over the money I spent on the game because at the time in made me happy. khux granted players a more personal way to interact with kingdom hearts. We were keyblade wielders! And the fact even now all of characters live within the series as dreameaters is a praise for how kh integrated all of us into its wild story.
However, community is one thing and games are another.
You can't play khux anymore and that is the most important thing. It's frustrating to have hours and hours of lore and story hidden within a game that won't exist in a decade that often has derivative gameplay in a franchise that is known for having exciting and well thought out combat and mechanics.
When the KH4 trailer came out many people didn't have clue who Strelitzia was because they didn't play the mobile games. While I think is a minor issue as the game will definitely reintroduce her (guys Sora doesn't know who she is either) many people are frustrated to be locked out of story and lore for the future because they didn't play khux. This issue is only amplified in today's time because the game is gone! And not many people want to just sit on youtube watching cutscenes.
In an era that has become saturated with gacha games to point of oversaturation I think it's fair that people don't want to waste time and money on a temporary game. And I also understand why people are upset that we lost a kh game. Brain's story, the lost era? Even if I wasn't heavily invested in the game itself I definitely wanted to know the story and the fact it is gone is disheartening.
Also I don't think cancelling khml suddenly means kh4 production is going to skyrocket. They were probably different teams from the get go.
Plus for square to cancel a game that had multiple betas, music and voice acting ready, means years and years of money and time has been wasted. We don't know what will happen with IV but considering khml was stated multiple times to have very important lore for IV, I won't be surprised if the game suffers a couple delays as the devs and writers are forced to incorporate or even remove khml lore from the story. A game being cancelled so late in development is not a good thing guys.
And again, it might not impact KH4 that much or it might impact it greatly we don't know and Square Enix's total lack of communication on Kingdom Hearts in another rant entirely.
I love Kingdom Hearts and I will probably enjoy any game I play but I feel I am in the crowd that would have loved a console game. KH is no longer spread across 10 different platforms any kh game that comes out today will be on ps, xbox, switch, steam and epic almost immediately. There is no need to limit ourselves to ios and android games and there are countless co-op mmos on console as well. There are so many ways to have vast online communities without locking fans in phone gacha hell.
As fun and as interesting as these stories are the issue will always be their fundamentals. It's a shame missing link is gone truly, but I do hope kh steps away from these kind of properties.
Did they do more harm than good? I'm not sure yet. But having so much story and content be stripped away from fans feels awful no matter what.
TLDR: khux are fun games but their short lifespan and predatory gameplay are so frustrating I think it's fair the series move away from them.
#kh#kingdom hearts#kingdom hearts missing link#khml#khux#unless square wants to make a genshin impact or wuwa equivalent and craft huge open worlds I don't see kh mobiles lasting long#but at the same time id rather you not waste time on open world gachas and just make another numbered game#would mmorpg kh in the same vein as ff14 be welcome? yes#but those aren't open world gachas#I think its fair for kh to try out new storytelling elements but I feel missing link was wrong place wrong time#this was so long my bad guys#would I love to make my own keykid again? yeah probably I hope to try this again#do I think they should waste time with missing link? ehhh#when it came down to it? khux was fun I had fun#would I do it again? ehhhhhh#the irony of me writing this then logging onto wuwa to try and get carlotta...i did not get her not enough wishes#see thats the thing i play gachas if missing link came out i would play it but ya know would i enjoy it? maybe but also who knows#id rather missing link be here than not be here but i also wish it never existed in the first place

For like, the past decade and a half I have found that any time I got a new games console I would try to work up the same kind of excitement I had when getting new consoles as a kid like the gamecube, ds and psp, and consistently what happened ever time was that I'd buy it, try to work up enthusiasm for it and actually keep up with new releases and get involved in modern gaming communities, but then inevitably every time I'd barely play any of the games I get for it since they just didn't grab me, and then inevitably I'd just sell the console to buy more retro games. this happened with 3ds, new 3ds, ps4, wii u and switch.
It took me ENTIRELY too long to realise that pc gaming was what I needed to get back into playing more modern games. I just assumed I wouldn't like pc gaming without trying it fully because I was specifically trying to recapture, again, excitement I got from consoles, and also pc gamers being pc gamers (the unironic "master race" fuckers) turning me off with their usual selling points of just "4k 180fps and no visible polygon edges", which makes it come off like you need overkill $2000+ gaming rigs capable of that kind of thing to actually experience the advantages of pc gaming
That isn't the case at all! you can build a computer for cheaper than next-gen consoles that is able to run lots of modern games at 60fps and 1080p. If you can settle for 30fps you can go even cheaper. You don't even need to buy a windows license anymore since Linux is free and its compatibility with windows software has gotten so good. If building a PC yourself is intimidating you could do what I did; buy a cheap OEM (pre-made) second hand desktop computer for cheap, like sub-$100 cheap, and use that to experiment with learning how to upgrade CPUs, gpus and ram. Using an old win7 HP desktop computer I bought for under $50, I managed to get it running doom 2016 at 30fps just by adding a new graphics card and CPU. doing it this way let me learn more about PC components so that when it was time for me to take the plunge and build my own PC from scratch I knew what I was doing. start cheap, and then if you discover that you need more powerful parts to run stuff you actually want to play, then you can start upgrading. There's no need to buy the highest end graphics card if a low-mid tier graphics card is already running everything smoothly after all. Just recently I built my girlfriend her own PC and managed to keep the price to around $500 (new zealand currency to be clear, which is like $300 USD). It was enough to run saga emerald beyond at 60fps which I was really happy with, but it did end up at around 30fps in other games like god eater 3, so we got a new graphics card once we could afford it.
And even with a cheap computer you can still experience a lot of what makes PC gaming so much fun. Indie games generally aren't demanding on hardware and there's far more of them on PC than there are on consoles. Indie games are genuinely some of the best modern games out there, frequently outdoing the AAA developers in lasting replay value and fun. plus, even the ones on consoles are better on PC thanks to extra features and content like mods, level editors and so on. there's also mouse and keyboard often being a more natural fit for game genres such as strategy and simulation games (I feel the same way about first person shooters as well but your mileage may vary there. Oh yeah also definitely play doom mods, they're awesome). Even if you're not into mouse and keyboard controls (I do really recommend practicing with it though! the speed and precision a mouse gives you is amazing), you'll still have a ton more controller options available on PC since basically anything that can be connected through USB or Bluetooth can be used. You also get access to fan made ports and remakes of classic games, all with their own mods and user made content, plus a ton of amazingly high quality standalone fan games (dr robotnik's ring racers is a recent fave of mine). You also have MUCH better access to older games on PC. You can be assured that stuff from the PS3 era will work superbly on modern PCs, and even a lot of 90s games work well out of the box on linux without needing to jump through hoops, in contrast to not even being able to play PS3 games on PS4. There's SO many cool aspects of modern gaming you can only experience on PC and it's not just playing microtransaction laden AAA games with marginally better graphics than on consoles.
This was meant to be about my disinterest in the switch 2 (not to say I think it'll be awful, I haven't looked enough into it, but I've already got my modern gaming covered by my computer unless some especially good exclusives win me over) but I got sidetracked and I just ended up gushing about how much i love computers oops

Why do y'all have a distaste for soulsborne games? Somehow in the last 2 years (or more, depending on how you want to count), it's just never come up!
You'll get the long version of the story on our next date. For now know that we got Bloodbourne free on the PS4 as part of PS Plus subscription. We found it punishing and unrewarding and did not endure playing it very long.
We also abhor freedom in games. The tighter the experience the more we tend to enjoy.
One could say it is a skills issue.

AND NOW, Time for Another Pikes Check-In Update Thingamajig!!!
Basically this is just where I post current interests/events in life to see if other people are currently sharing the same interest, or if people just wanna catch up on things.
WITHOUT FURTHER ADO:
What I'm Watching
Seasonal anime: Summer season's just starting so of the ones that caught my interest at the moment are the following
Might see if Helck is good when it airs
I'm getting tempted to reactivate my Netflix account for My Happy Marriage but ehhh maybe when Beastars airs again. I do like stories where characters go through absolute shit but get better lives and heal from their experiences
Undead Murder Farce: I really like the character designs, and I love the snark of the protagonists. Hopefully it's like Appare Ranman but with Victorian England instead of 1910s-1930s America
Jujustu Kaisen season 2: Sucks that the airing schedule seems to be whack (first 5 episodes will be normal, but then it's gonna be on hiatus until like. October) but I love the OP, ED, character interactions, and the Digimon joke.
Bleach TYBW: Bleach was my choice of shounen as a youth and it's got me in an iron grip of nostalgia. Is the writing terrible at times? Yes! Do I still love it? Yes...for certain characters nowadays
Apparently Nier Automata's making a comeback? Hope so. It was hinting at big stuff when it last got hiatus'ed
MAL says Dungeon Meshi is gonna air this season but I doubt that
I'm also gonna watch the new Superman cartoon since a friend's letting me borrow another friend's Max account (I COULD technically reactive my account, but I hate how WB cut most of their projects & library for tax write-offs). And I'm 2 episodes away from finishing Iruma season 3, so once I'm done with that, it's onto Saiki K to watch during my lunch breaks when there isn't a seasonal anime to watch. ...Though I'm kinda wondering if I should swap it for Nanbaka now... Eh I already had the poll, so might as well stick to the poll until I finish Big O
What I'm Playing:
Just finished the 2nd labyrinth of Persona Q. I'm not really looking forward to replaying the 3rd labyrinth since it's horror themed. (Plus this was around the time I actually had to start playing with a guide because of a few FOE puzzles. Gonna be distracting to do so as I play). That being said I love that this combines EO dungeon exploration with Persona combat. Makes me wonder if I should try to get back to EO4 or see if I should get EO3 on modern consoles
Other potential interests: Ghost Trick (got the special edition right when I was in the middle of my Persona Q replay), 999 on Vita (solves the issue of not being able to play the updated version at work), possibly get back to Personas 2-5 (after I read the manga for the first game; keep forgetting to do that), maybe explore my Steam library since I have a few games there now thanks to the summer sale, maybe get back to playing Fantasy Life until I get to Al Majiik (though I forgot how tedious it is to grind for jobs). Just man. While I'm sad there's no FEMC for the P3 remake, I'm still super excited for it
Though with that being said it feels weird to buy games I already own just on different consoles. It'd be one thing if there were remakes/reboots, but nah. I just have Nier on both PS4 and Steam now. Game collecting's a weird hobby, but one I enjoy nonetheless
Other Stuff:
Anxiety spiked a bit today after seeing discourse start to pop up here again & cringing at past mistakes I've made, hence the checkup post you see now
While I'm cool with my job, I don't like how it consumes so much of my free time/energy. If I can get paid enough to work 4 days without me having to do 10 hour work days, that'd be pretty neat
Barbie movie's in a few weeks oh boy
Another con's happening at the end of the month, but it will be like 3 hours away. Gonna go with a friend then but hopefully my car sickness doesn't kill me.
Then the next con I definitely want to go to is in September
And after that I'm gonna see Hadestown with another friend
Not sure what to do for a Halloween shindig with friends. And it might be the brainrot talking but I kinda wanna go as Shinjiro from Persona 3? Though I also want my coworkers to recognize my costume, so I might need to start looking for Vampire Hunter D attire now.
THUS ENDS THE CHECKUP!

Top Games Played in 2023 - Number 7: Control
7. Control (PS4)

Much like River City Girls, this is a game genre I don't play often; third-person shooter. But I was curious about the idea, and got it free from PS Plus.
What I Like
Control is a game set in what is basically the SCP universe; you are in the headquarters of a group that investigates and captures supernatural activities that are typically tied to otherwise mundane objects like a fridge or ashtray. Even the HQ itself is supernaturally difficult to notice, but your main character Jesse ends up inside and investigating the disappearance of her brother.
The premise and execution of the story is top-notch. Whether it's learning about Objects of Power, or about how the bureau operates, the writing is by far the best part of this game. I appreciate that the main character is also a weirdo in her own way so that she's not simply "the straight man", but still an outsider to this particular weirdness. There's also extra weird stuff like the "Threshold Kids", which are videos you can find that have small live-action puppet skits.

Exploring areas is fun, and often fast when backtracking thanks to new abilities or fast travel points.
There's a lot of fun stuff you can do in combat like telekinetically throwing objects, possessing enemies, and straight up flying around like a DBZ character.
The current version of the game also has a great selection of difficulty options including auto-aim and invincibility. These were very important for me as someone who doesn't play shooters.
What I Didn't Like
Unfortunately this is a shooter at the end of the day, and I just don't enjoy shooters. The easy difficulty options made it more bearable, but by the last few sections I was really just forcing myself through combat to get to the otherwise excellent remainder of the game.

This also means everything geared around shooting like upgrading and equipment was an annoyance to me.
If this game had been pretty much any other genre, it would be way higher on this list.
Final Thoughts
Control is a game I love that's limited by being in a genre I hate.

Annon-Guy: How do you feel about enhanced versions of games being exclusive to certain consoles?
You see, Gungrave G.O.R.E. got an Ultimate Enhanced Edition on the Switch with 100 Gameplay Balances and changes, new playable characters and lowered the gory content to get it's classic Teen rating back... AND IT'S SWITCH EXCLUSIVE! Which bites sense I Plantinumed the original game on PS4.
Depends on the circumstances.
Back in the Day Soul Calibur II was especially popular as a Nintendo Gamecube title because of Link being a playable character, but because it was Nintendo exclusive, Bamco couldn't use Link for anything outside of Nintendo platforms.
And Nintendo is also pretty stubborn about not porting things to PC, Steam, Epic Games, Arcades, and so on...
Even to this very day you'll find fans who make Link as a Custom character in Soul Calibur 6 (to say nothing of the DLC "mods" that let you turn items in to a Hylian Shield and the Master Sword).
Other games have had "exclusive" DLC practices on various consoles and that doesn't always translate well to later ports of games years upon years after they were released for now-outdated hardware.
Funny thing, however... especially with PC versions of games, modders and fan communities will often muster up content to "enhance" a game long after the Developers are *officially* finished with it.
So, for example, if you didn't buy the "exclusive deluxe edition" of Code Vein for example... some modders put together a mod that still lets you enjoy the DLC content that was featured in the Deluxe edition.
This also happened with the PSP version of Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy... a lot of exclusive "limited time offer" DLC skins were downloadable at various "rare events" but almost nobody had access to that content because of how rare it was... goes to show that such practices would eventually lose favor with consumers. It was much later that some kind souls in the FF community donated the skins for FREE as a save file add-on you could play via PSP emulation or via a modded PlayStation Portable.
And, given that years upon years after a game is released... if it's not ported to a modern platform, it is instead thrown by the wayside... or ends up a mod project or emulation project by community fans.
Even some official "ports" of older games don't always make the translation well, which leaves it up to FANS to fix the mistakes from time to time.
And of course, this includes things like adding Rollback Netcode to fighting games, or even porting sound files from the original Arcade version of a game in to the PC version to "enhance it" (which is basically what happened to Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, and even BlazBlue Central Fiction).
In other words, if you want the "best" of something, usually the PC version is the smartest choice, due to fan-made options like I listed, or simply the prospect that a game can later be emulated on PC through various means.
Of course, not everyone likes using PC as a platform, because of technical things, getting outdated hardware, or they just don't want to mess around with the difficulty of learning how to run a PC as a game platform (even though much of what was hard about it has been mostly streamlined thanks to platforms like Steam).
Sometimes it's just an issue of compatibility, where you want your joystick or controller to work on a game console that suits you for playing.
In terms of DLC practice, unless it's something you absolutely can't live without or drastically alters the state of the game in ways that make the standalone game inferior... honestly such exclusivity is bad practice in general and best ignored until something better comes along, or a bundle edition exists.
Either that, or simply determine for yourself if such content is worth buying a whole console over.
Truth be told, I had "extreme reasons" for buying many of my games over the years.
Reason for buying a Sega Genesis: Sonic Spinball / Sonic 3 and Knuckles Reason for buying a PlayStation: (None, was secretly gifted, but I never regretted owning one after I bought the first Guilty Gear)
Reason for buying a Gameboy: Tetris. No doubt in my mind.
Reason for buying a Gamecube: Legend of Zelda Collection with Zelda 64 Master Quest. I also ended up getting Soul Calibur II as said earlier.
Reason for buying a PS2: Guilty Gear X Plus (I had to mod my PS2 in order to play the import of this by the way.)
Reason for buying a PS3: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger. I'm proud to say that after all these years.
Reason for buying a PS4: Gundam Breaker 3... the trailer alone convinced me. Owning Soul Calibur 6 on this platform is also nice.
Reasons for buying a PC: Technical reasons, and the fact I want to become a game developer myself one day... also the modding communities are more than convincing! I've done my OWN modding projects myself (which you can find on my blog).

Lords of the Fallen Sequel: From Slow and Tactical to Fast and Furious, and the Parallel Worlds Mechanic
Lords of the Fallen, the OG one, was all about that slow and tactical Dark Souls vibe, but the upcoming sequel with the same name is flipping the script. They're going for that fast and furious feel, think Deck13's The Surge and Bloodborne. And don't even worry, even though your character can't do the whole free-jumping thing, the exploration game in Lords of the Fallen is still lit.

Lords of the Fallen is doing its own thing by bringing in this killer mechanic – it's all about the parallel worlds, Axiom and Umbral. Axiom is where most of the action goes down in its fantasy setting, but sometimes you gotta dip into Umbral, either by choice or when the game forces you. Umbral's a dark and twisted place, with freaky monsters and bones decorating what used to be trees and rocks. Luckily, the player gets this slick lantern that lets them check out Umbral without making a one-way trip there. Whenever there's an unbreakable wall or a huge gap in your way, Umbral might just have the answers to help you keep it moving.

Lords of the Fallen is all about that Umbral realm, and once you step into it, there's no turning back until you hit the next checkpoint or catch that death penalty. They're taking a page from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with this two-life thing and trust me, Umbral ain't a walk in the park – it's often tougher than Axiom, so that second chance might end up being a total fail. The game also brings in some cool seamless online co-op action, where you and your squad can roll through most of the adventure together. According to the project leads, the world follows the host's lead to keep things synced up in Axiom/Umbral. And while you're enjoying this cooperative gameplay, don't forget to check out where to buy PS4 games to expand your gaming library for even more multiplayer fun.

Lantern's Versatile Mechanics and Character Classes Overview
One key part of the whole Axiom/Umbral thing is this lantern that lets players peek into the other realm. But it's not just for show – you can use it to Flay and Siphon Souls from enemies, which helps you rack up wither/stagger damage. Plus, you can extract Umbral parasites from tough enemies, but here's the catch – both these moves need you to wield the lantern in your offhand. So, if you're rocking a casting conduit or a shield, you'll have to switch things up. I'll be real, I didn't fully get the hang of this mechanic during the preview, except for sucking away those Umbral parasites. I'll have to dive deeper into the final build to vibe with the mechanics and appreciate what's going on. Lords of the Fallen's character creation gave us nine classes to kick things off. Eight archetypes were pretty much a match for Dark Souls' starting classes, and then there was the Condemned class, a blank slate with nines across the board in each stat. That class was all about flexibility and letting you build your character the way you wanted. And speaking of customization and choice, have you considered where to buy PS4 games to tailor your gaming experience to your preferences?

Lords of the Fallen, like, totally rocked my gaming experience, dude. So, for my playthrough, I rolled with the Inferno class. It started things off with a fireball, kinda like Pyromancy vibes, and a polearm. Now, that polearm, like, wasn't the quickest thing out there compared to what some other classes had, and my MP couldn't keep up with the whole fireball-spam thing in every fight. But when I could combine both of 'em, especially during boss battles, it was a legit build, no doubt. The RPG Site homie next to me went with an Archer-like class and wrecked the main boss in our demo with poison arrows, which was pretty lit.
Lords of the Fallen, like, totally had some limitations in the early game vibes before you hit the main hub. It was kinda, you know, not super clear how all the progression stuff meshed together, but don't worry, fam, those surprises won't keep you hanging for long when the game drops.

Gear Customization and Parry Mechanics
Collecting cool gear and customizing your look? Yeah, that wasn't a thing at the start. There were no weapons to find when you went off the usual path, and you couldn't pimp your gear 'cause the blacksmith homie wasn't chillin' in the hub. Bummer, right? But wait, there's more! One of the devs gave us a sneak peek of this sick scimitar and a light shield setup. It looked perfect for pulling off that classic parry and riposte move I'm all about, and I can't wait to flex those skills when the full game drops later this year. Oh, and speaking of parrying, it's not just about looking cool. It also builds up this gauge thing that knocks your enemies on their butts. For the basic foes, it's a quick takedown, and for the big shots like boss dudes, you can dish out some serious pain.

My Game of the Week #1 - HUMANITY
My first Game of the Week will be HUMANITY! It's a challenging puzzler where you play as a dog, guiding humans to the light. In this thread, I'll explain some more, and give my thoughts. 1/15

You may have seen this game before in a PlaySation State of Play. The game is availible on PS4/5, PSVR, amd Steam! Well deserved advertisement for an amazing game. So what's this game all about? 2/15
So what is this game? Well, you have to create a path for the humans using your commands and the environment. I've heard comparisons to Lemmings, though I'm unfamiliar witht hat series. To me it's more like Mario vs Donkey Kong series with the mini robots. 3/15

At the start, you have the "Turn" command, which as simple as telling which way the humans should go. Things get more complicated from there, and the game gives even more commands for you. It should be noted, what commands you have access to depends on what the map allows you to have. 4/15
It's a straightforward puzzle game, but then they throw Goldies into the mix. Think of these as collectibles for 100% completion. On the path you create for the humans, they need to run into the Goldy to "collect" them, and they need to be escorted to the goal. 5/15
Goldies can unlock bonus things like cosmetics and other features. Some levels may even requiere you to collect a Goldy to unlock the goal. It's a very nice bonus for those wanting do more than what's requiered. 6/15

This game has an awesome feature that I haven't seen another puzzle game implement yet - Solutuion Videos! Feel like looking up a guide? You can view this video in the pause menu that'll help you complete the level - no guides needed! 7/15
My favorite part of these videos is that they never reveal how to collect the Goldies (unless requiered). Even if you follow the video 1-to-1, there's still room for you to use your brain! Every puzzle has more than one path to the solution. 8/15
There's also no punishment for watching the videos, meaning this game is one of the most accessible puzzle games out there. There's a stat counter that shows how may times you watched solution videos, but that's it. 9/15
Spoliers - Towards the end of the game, they throw combat into the mix! While it's satisfying to watch thousands of guys shoot each other, I feel the puzzle implementation is a bit lacking in the final quarter of the game. 10/15

Spoliers - You gain a command where the humans will directly follow you. Combined with combat, the puzzles place more emphasis on timing and precision rather than planning. Perhaps a welcome change of pace for some, but it was lacking for me. 11/15

It's not all bad though! Even if you struggled with the last quarter like me, the solution videos got your back. I was able to complete all puzzles and (almost) collect all Goldies with no YouTube. 12/15

Don't think a few hard puzzles at the end make the game bad - this is a very satisfying puzzle game that I recommend to all puzzle fans, and especially newcomers to the genre. 13/15
Almost forgot, the custom stage builder! There's plenty of great puzzles made by the community and staff members, and you can build your own puzzles. I expect to find some hard ones out there! 14/15
The game is on sale for $23 on Steam, and is free on PSN Plus Extra! Perfect time to jump in and check it out. Fantastic puzzle game for everyone to enjoy. 15/15 (End of thread!)

When Your Console Breaks, Don’t Panic — Get It Repaired in Birmingham
If you’ve ever had your PS5 suddenly power off mid-game or your Xbox refuse to load the latest title, you know how frustrating console failures can be. In today’s digital world, our gaming consoles are more than just gadgets — they’re entertainment hubs, nostalgia machines, and for many, even stress relief tools.
When they stop working, it feels personal.
That’s why console repair services like Any Gadget Repair in Birmingham are quietly becoming heroes of the gaming world. Instead of shelling out hundreds for a replacement or spending weeks dealing with manufacturer delays, more people are turning to local specialists for fast, affordable, and reliable repairs.
🎯 Why Console Repairs Make More Sense Than You Think
The idea of “repair vs replace” is making a comeback — not just because it saves money, but because it’s more sustainable and practical in a world where tech is only getting more expensive.
Let’s be real: replacing a PS5 or Xbox Series X is no small decision. But what if the issue is just a faulty HDMI port, overheating due to dust buildup, or a damaged power supply?
That’s where repair services shine.
Any Gadget Repair offers deep diagnostics, skilled hardware and software fixes, and even controller repairs — whether it’s Joy-Con drift or PS5 DualSense buttons gone rogue.
🔧 What Kind of Problems Can Be Repaired?
From minor nuisances to major system failures, most console issues are fixable. Some common examples include:
No Power or Random Shutdowns: Often due to PSU failures, motherboard issues, or bad solder joints.
Overheating: Caused by dust, blocked vents, or failing fans.
HDMI Port Damage: Especially common in PS4 and PS5. These ports are fragile and frequent plugging/unplugging can break them.
Disc Drive Malfunctions: Unreadable discs or stuck trays.
Software Issues: Boot loops, freezing, system update errors.
Controller Problems: Stick drift, broken triggers, non-responsive buttons.
What’s refreshing is that Any Gadget Repair also covers retro systems — think PS2, Xbox 360, Sega Dreamcast — which many repair shops don’t even touch anymore.
🛠 The Repair Process: What to Expect
Repairing your console with Any Gadget Repair is as straightforward as it is efficient:
Reach Out — Call or message with your issue. You’ll get an idea of possible causes and a free quote.
Diagnostics — Bring the device in or ship it. Diagnostics are free up to 30 minutes.
Approval & Repair — Once the issue is confirmed, you’ll receive a cost estimate. If approved, repairs begin.
Collection or Delivery — You’ll get your console back, fully tested and ready to play.
What makes them stand out? Transparency. They won’t do any repairs without your consent and are known for competitive, honest pricing.
📍 Birmingham-Based, UK-Wide Service
Located in the Great Western Industrial Estate, Any Gadget Repair serves not only Birmingham locals but also console owners across the UK. They offer mail-in options and promise a quick turnaround — no more waiting for weeks like with OEM repairs.
Their workshop handles everything in-house, ensuring quality control and consistency. And if your console isn’t worth fixing? They’ll tell you that too — no hidden agendas.
♻️ Repair Is the Future
In an era where tech is often treated as disposable, there’s something refreshing about fixing what’s broken. Not only does it save money, but it’s also a small act of environmental responsibility.
Gaming consoles are complex machines, and repairs require skill, patience, and specialized tools. Any Gadget Repair brings all three to the table — plus a customer-first approach.
So, next time your console acts up — before you panic or go shopping for a new one — consider reaching out to a repair service that actually cares.
💬 Final Thought
Gaming is joy. It’s connection. It’s escape. When your console breaks, it shouldn’t mean the end of any of that.
Any Gadget Repair isn’t just fixing devices — they’re keeping the game going.
