tbh i think if youre weird and annoying about accordion you owe every accordion player on earth 5000$

you dont have to like the sound persay. not every person likes the sound of every instrument. i know ive got instruments i dont typically like the sound of- and accordions can be loud irl and i sympathize with how that can be hard. but the type of person whos so outwardly dismissive of accordion and treats it like a joke is probably the most obnoxious type of person out there and im so serious about this

accordions are really heavy (they weigh around 20lbs average, some heavier, some lighter) and it takes a lot of very specific upper body strength to push/pull, not to mention how you need to do this while holding them very specifically in order to actually play. now depending on the type of accordion you either need to 1) have preexisting knowledge of piano 2) learn a piano keyboard to play or 3) learn 2 different sets of buttons that look pretty much exactly the same but Sure Dont Sound It!

its also really varied. most people think either stereotypical french/russian music or polka when they think of accordion, and i know why, but its a really varied instrument with a wide range of tone and can be used to effectively convey a lot of emotions musically

treating people like they are inherently jokes because they play an instrument you either dont like or just find funny makes you an asshole hope that helps!

Book dates! He is a certified bookworm and would love to either read to you or do some parallel play where both of you are reading different things in the same room, and there aren't even words exchanged except maybe he is lying on your lap or viceversa, and it's super cozy. If you're not much of a reader but show enough interest, he would still try to recommend you something he thinks you'd like.

Following this line of thought, I believe he can read you so well! He is very perceptive of your moods, and is always two steps forward. However, he won't say anything, and just hand you the thing you need and just smile sweetly as you stand there like "...how" Those blue eyes can bore into your soul.

Can I also say tea parties? I feel like he would love tea (what happens when you have Bilbo as an uncle), and every time he knows you're coming over, he will literally plead for Bilbo to let him use his best tea set, and who is Bilbo to be in the way of young love?

He would also invite you every time he goes to the Green Dragon, and is delighted that you get along with Sam, Merry, and Pippin so well. Frodo just loves the people he considers his family and his heart has space for one more.

Yeah, this hobbit cannot believe how lucky he is when he asked you out and you immediately said yes. He still cannot believe it as the years pass. It's a feeling he thinks will never go away, which is a good thing because it makes your relationship something that will never lose its shine.

Honestly, I didn't see him as a poet guy, but I'm warming myself to that idea. However, I feel like he wouldn't be writing long sonnets about your beauty, but instead little poems of a few verses, comparing you with a flower of your garden. You can tell when he's writing one of these because he will blush red like a tomato, but you've decided not to tell him for his poor heart's sake. Besides, you love his face when he sees you reading and reacting to one of his poems!

His go-to gift in anniversaries or special days, or sometimes when he feels like it, is bouquets of flowers he picks from his garden. Merry and Pippin tease him for being so down bad for you that he's willing to do that (honestly, you're the only person, not even Mister Frodo gets the privilege), but he chooses to ignore them. He also loves to cook for you on these days and loves to see your face as you try his food.

His family is constantly asking him to bring you over and his poor nerves can only handle so many questions about you two, but he is secretly glad they love you almost as much as he does.

Certified little shit #1 whom I love very much.

He knows he's pretty and he's not humble at all (secondary effect of rich kid syndrome) but when he started dating you, he was like "wait, I think I actually want to be better for them."

Dates would either consist of full on philosophical conversations fueled by so much pipeweed that would give the two of you the biggest munchies known to man hobbit, or drinking contests in the Green Dragon topped by dancing on top of a table in true hobbit fashion.

Now, on a more serious note, he is SO good at remembering every single little detail about you. You are pretty sure he has a little notebook where he keeps everything you tell him, but alas you haven't seen it, and his lips are sealed. He also keeps strict schedules for dates on more important days, and gets a bit nervous when something happens outside of what he's planned for, but a kiss will surely steer him back on track sooner than you can say 'shire'.

Adores how well Pippin took to you (see what I did there lmao) and is happy to see you both get along even if it sometimes comes back to bite him in the ass when you two team up to either tease or prank him.

Certified little shit #2 whom I love very much.

Once again, he knows he's cute and yet he, like Sam, still can't believe you choose to stay with him, but Yavanna forbid if he won't make use of this opportunity he has been given.

He makes so much effort in the relationship. He has to be the best boyfriend ever, and will break his back to make sure you're happy. This would lead to a conversation about your expectations in the relationship and how Pippin does not have to prove his worth constantly. You are not going to get mad at him if he makes a mistake, and he appreciates that.

Sweetheart that loves to talk about you to whoever is present and willing to listen. Frodo, Merry, and Sam still try to listen to him, but if Pippin is drinking, he will just go on and on, and they will probably just tune him out after a bit.

He asks Merry for advice when planning dates for you, and Merry is more than glad to exercise his role of older cousin. The success of said plans between these two is better left to your imagination.

Bonus: Bilbo

He is an indoors hobbit so dates are mainly spent in Bag End with you reading and him writing (parallel play well done is so relaxing and I will die on this hill), or both of you drinking hot cocoa in front of the fireplace as he tells you some stories from his little adventure to the other side of the world.

Dating him would be so entertaining in the sense that you'll always receive visits from so many different relatives. The first time, Bilbo was very apologetic but after seeing you dispatch Lobelia swiftly and politely, he found his heart beating very fast and knows you don't need his protection as much as he wants to keep you safe.

For me, no one died in the Battle of Five Armies, so he would invite you to his yearly trips to Erebor. The dwarves do come by Bag End every once in a while, but he likes to go to the Mountain to see Thorin and Fíli, who can't really go anywhere because of their duties as King and Prince Under the Mountain.

When Frodo's parents die, Bilbo is conflicted between adopting him or not. He doesn't want to impose a whole ass child on you so he sits you down and hears what you have to say about this entire thing. Feels very relieved when you tell him you see no problem in adopting the little hobbit.

Very happy with his family, both hobbits and dwarves.

My first request done! I have no idea why it took so long, I had so much fun writing for this, even though I know these are very general daring headcanons, but you can only get better by writing. Anyways, I hope you like it, and that I did them justice!

Oh goodness you are so kind! And of course I would! In fact I remember an old ask of mine on the subject here:

So for sure it depends massively on the source since depending on it, Helen gets either abducted or following (and then we have Euripides who basically said neither happened and that Helen's true form is in Egypt haha)

However if I may, I would love to say my thoughts on the Homeric version which I find the most complicated!

Helen in Homer is tormented by guilt. In both the Iliad and the Odyssey not only does she speak of self-pity but also berates herself. Yes in the Iliad we see her also being resentful of Paris and wishing to return home but ironically we also see her speaking of shame and disgrace.

In the Iliad we see her speak that she doesn't see her brothers fighting among the heroes so instead of thinking literally any other scenario or the worst case that her brothers were actually dead at that point, she thought that her brothers were ashamed of her hence not appearing to the war to reclaim her. She also fears the hate of people like Priam given that Priam reassures her that he doesn't blame her.

In the Odyssey she berates herself again for the war but she gives us also a small piece of information. She speaks on the influence of Aphrodite, claiming that it was her the one that made her fall in love for Paris and that is to blame for her whole adventure

However one needs to note that Aphrodite is also the goddess of love or the representation of love itself. The "spell of Aphrodite" is also used as a euphemism for someone falling in love (similarly to Eros's arrows for instance) so which is it I wonder? We know that Homer writes the gods both literally and metaphorically in his poems. So this whole Aphrodite business could mean

Aphrodite literally hypnotized Helen to fall in love with Paris

The phrase is used as a euphemism for Helen actually falling for Paris's charms unintentionally

Somehow a combination of both factors

I find both of these equally interesting to be honest and I have also the tendency of thinking that both of them work at the same time somehow. I mean Paris was described as a very beautiful man. It is not impossible that Helen has been through some crisis in her marriage with Menelaus for some reason or that Paris is simply too charming or too interesting that made her wish to satisfy her curiosity and maybe his exotic to Sparta herritage played its part On the other hand of course Aphrodite literally putting Helen under a spell is also used as a symbol in literature in the first place so I can definitely see that happening literally as Helen described it in the Odyssey. We also see something else that I find equally interesting;

Falling in love (spell or not), is one thing. But choosing to risk everything; your family's name, your position as a queen or your reputation for the sake of someone you fell in love with seem rather distant things and somehow gives me a delicious tingling in regards to Helen's agency We might think that Aphrodite aspired passion in her heart (as it happened in other myths) that was inconsolable. However Helen going to Troy with Paris could easily be her decision. She didn't choose to do something drastic like Clytemnestra who killed her husband eventually but rather she chose to abandon everything behind including her own daughter to go with Paris That in my opinion gives some agency to Helen in the situation that we can talk about

Helen seems to follow in some shape willingly but I also love to combine the sources. What if somewhere mid-way or somewhere in the middle of her marriage to Paris she regretted it? What if Paris told her she cannot leave now or found a way to manipulate her stay in Troy similarly to how Odysseus reports Circe detained him in her isle? If that makes sense

So to make a small summery I would say for starters it depends on the source and a vast majority speak of abduction or at least taking of hers at some point but number two I find it not impossible that multiple explanations happen at the same time Hope my thoughts make any sense and I am so sorry I was so late to reply!

Answering 100 ship questions about Ambrollow

Tags: Fluff, relationship stuff, mentions of intimacy (nothing graphic), all characters are above 18+. This is literally me just answering the questions from this post because I like all of them and I also like Ambrollow so I'm going to torture everybody by blabbing about them. And buckle up because this sucker is LONG.

-Who fell first? Who fell harder? Imma have to say Sebastian for both. He fell harder because it took Matty a while to realize that she was in love with him. Her anxiety told her that maybe she'd mess up the friendship if he didn't feel the same way. However, once they're dating she's entirely infatuated with him.

-Who is the one who fusses the most? Does their S/O mind very much? It really depends on what it is. They both kinda fuss about stupid stuff sometimes LOL.

-What's their love language? Matty: Quality time. Sebastian: Physical touch.

-Has either ever gotten a hickey off of each other? What was their reaction? I'm sure it'll happen eventually, however certainly not in school LOL. But there was this one time in seventh year where Sebastian bit her neck because he's a little crap and wanted to be annoying. But he didn't know how much she hated mouths around her neck so she accidentally slapped him so hard it left a handprint. So his cheek was red and she had a bitemark on her neck 😂

-What's something they like to do together? Anything really. Sebastian doesn't care as long as he's with her. Usually Matty want's it to be something enjoyable, but again, she doesn't really care as long as she's with him.

-Who would ask the "would you love me if I were a worm?" question? How would their S/O answer? Sebastian 100% asks it. And Matty tells him yes.

-Who likes forehead kisses? Who likes hand kisses? Who likes neck kisses? Well we already know Matty hates neck kisses. She will flail around if he even tries. 💀 But she LOVESSS forehead and hand kisses. Sebastian likes all three. He doesn't care as long as she's kissing him LOL.

-Who is the big spoon? Who is the little spoon? On average, Matty is usually the little spoon and Sebastian is usually the big spoon. But if he has a hard day at work or something, he's usually the little spoon because Matty want's to cuddle him and make him feel better LOL. -If there wasn't enough seats, how would they sit? One on the other's lap? One on the armrest? One on the floor in front of them? At that point Matty is just flopping on Sebastian no matter what, just to annoy him LOL. Eventually she'd end up situated on his lap but that's AFTER he's like "pls help I cannot breathe."

-Who plays with whose hair? Usually Matty plays with Sebastian's hair. Sebastian LOVES it but he also LOVES to play with hers. However, Matty is partial to that. It feels great, HOWEVER, she has curly hair and it takes forever to style so if he messes up her curls she gets mad.😂

-Who is clingy? Both of them HAHA. However Matty is more "emotionally" clingy and Sebastian is more physically clingy. Sebastian needs physical reassurance while Matty needs more of an emotional reassurance.

-What is something that their S/O does that makes them flustered? For the entire time Sebastian has known Matty, the simplest gesture of her biting her lip when she's concentrated has always gotten him flustered for some reason. In class, he'd look over at her to see her looking at her paper with her bottom lip in between her teeth trying to figure something out and his cheeks would go red. He has know idea why, it just happens.

Matty gets flustered when Sebastian just exists. IM KIDDING, kinda. She's 5'8" by they time she's 18 and so she gets used to being pretty tall. However, Sebastian hits a growth spurt too and he's 6'2", so the mere fact that he's that much taller than her gets her a little flustered whenever he's standing over her.

-What is something they find hot about their S/O? Matty loves Sebastian's hands and forearms. She doesn't know what it is, she just loves his hands. And she thinks his dimples are cute.

Sebastian loves Matty's eyes. He finds them very attractive. Or just her face in general because he just thinks she's hot. Enough said LOL.

-What is something they argue about constantly? Is it a deep-seated issue or small? When they first moved in together, they had a plant named Barnaby in their house. They took turns taking care of it but it eventually died and they argued about whose fault it was. It was on both of them but they still argue about it even when they're old. 😂

-How do they comfort one another when the other is upset? It entirely depends on the situation tbh. But usually Matty is more consistent in the way she comforts Sebastian, usually because Sebastian only gets upset over serious matters, or things that really mean something to him. So usually there's a lot of solid communication, her reassuring him, etc...

There are two main ways Sebastian comforts her. If it's about something serious, he's usually trying to reassure her about things, gentle touches, calming words yk? However if she's upset about something less serious or silly, he's usually trying to crack jokes to make her feel better. Or just doing silly things to distract her from the fact that she's upset lol.

-Who is the better caretaker? Does their S/O like being taken care of? They are both equally good caretakers. Matty stems from the fact that she has lots of cousins or just younger children around her in general, so she grew up taking care of them. She also grew up taking care of the sick in her area. Sebastian is a good caretaker because of how much he had to take care of Anne when she was cursed. Or just in general throughout their childhood. So Seb and Matty take care of each other a lot and they both love it.

-Who steals whose clothes? Does their S/O mind. Because of the obvious size difference, Matty steals Sebastian's clothes more often. He LOVES it though so he doesn't mind.

-They've had a major blowout. How do they handle it? (Assuming that this means an event with massive impact, whatever it may be). Matty and Sebastian have both already dealt with things like this over the time that they've known each other. So they're pretty good at handling it already.

-How good are they at communication? Pretty decent, to be honest. Sometimes it takes a while for them to open up about things but because they were good friends before their relationship, it was much easier to open up. And Matty also becomes and Auror so she understand that doing something without proper communication is basically useless. So she's keen on communicating with her husband.

-Who handles spiders? Who scream's directions in the background? Neither of them are afraid of spiders, so it's actually turned into a competition of who can kill the spider first. 😂

-Who typically tends to initiate intimacy first (this can be a conversation, action, or anything)? They're both really good at it, to be honest. They both start conversations, acts, etc... They love each other and so they have no problem initiating anything most of the time.

-What is something- either character - does not like about the other? Sebastian forgets details about things he's not 100% focused on ALL the time. Matty doesn't hate that about him, however it does get her frustrated since she retains a LOT of the information she's told. So she usually has to remind him about things a lot.

Sebastian does not like the fact that she reminds him so often LOL. He swears he doesn't forget nearly as much as she says he does, but in reality he does. 😂

-Who said I love you first? Platonically? Matty. Romantically? Sebastian.

-Who kissed who first? Technically it was both of their first kiss and it was a mutual thing, however Sebastian technically initiated it because he asked her if he could kiss her.

-Do they have any pet names for each other? Outside of the usual ones? No, not really. Unless you count Matty's name as a nickname in general LOL. There are sometimes where Sebastian will call her by her real name and it feels like a nickname lol

-Who gets jealous more often? How does their S/O deal with that? Sebastian is naturally the more jealous person. He hasn't had much in his life, so when he has something he never wants to let go of--like his literal wife--he gets possessive over that. But it's not in an unhealthy way. He's not weird about it or anything. However he is decently protective over her.

-Who tends to drive on long journeys? Who navigates? Sebastian drives, Matty gives directions. Sebastian can stay awake for longer, hence why he's the designated driver for long drives. And Matty's sense of direction is much better than his LOL.

-Do they trust one another? Are they comfortable discussing their fears with one another? They trusted each other a lot WELL before their relationship ever started. So yes.

-What's an insecurity they hold about their relationship? Sebastian: That he's not a good husband/father to their kids. He hardly remembers his father. And although his father was a good husband to his wife and a good father to seb and anne, Sebastian hardly remembers it. Merlin knows Solomon was a terrible guardian, so he's always afraid that he's not being a good enough husband or a good enough father to his kids. Clearly, that's not the case, but it's a fear he has.

Matty: That she's not doing everything she can in her relationship. Matty is a perfectionist and the type of person to take on others challenges so that they won't. She's stuck in constant loop of thinking she's not doing everything she possibly can for her loved ones or that she's not helping enough. Clearly, that's not the case, but it's a fear she has.

-Describe how the one would cheer up the other after a hard day? If Matty was having a hard day, Sebastian would be really tentative to her, constantly reassuring her since she has a habit of blaming herself when things don't go right. When Sebastian is having a bad day, Matty usually has to ground him through things like physical touch since he's prone to letting everything get to his head. And eventually when he calms down, they have a chat about it. Cuddles are definitely a must for both.

-How would they describe each other? Seb abt Matty: Energetic, outgoing, pretty, loud, kind, empathetic, and a leader. Matty abt Seb: Outgoing, attractive, intelligent, a lil annoying sometimes, empathetic, understanding, and a lil bit of a nerd (but she finds that hot).

-Can they communicate private thoughts whilst in company? If so, how? They've mastered it by the time they are actually married. Quick lean ins to whisper stuff, hand signals. They're like masters of it LOL.

-Which one of them gives "that look" when the other is acting like a fool? Matty 100% gives Sebastian that look HAHA.

-How do they address problems in their relationship? Maturely and forwardly. They don't wait around to talk about it, or beat around the bush. If one of them has an issue with something, they're gonna say it. Being secretive never helped anybody.

-How does each S/O view any exes from former relationships? They both never dated before each other, so there was never any exes. However Seb used to have a small crush on Violet McDowell and Matty likes her. So there's never any hard feelings.

-What is something that would break their hearts? If Matty knew about how insecure Sebastian felt as a husband and father sometimes, her heart would definitely break. She always talks about how lucky she is to have him in her life so if she ever heard that, her heart would shatter.

If Sebastian knew how much Matty belittled herself, even for the smallest of things, his heart would break. He knows she does it a lot, but he doesn't know just how much she does it. In his mind, she's the closest thing to perfect (even though she's not), so if he knew, he'd be sad that she doesn't see herself the way he sees her.

-Who is more likely to avenge their S/O if they were hurt or killed? Both of them, but in different ways.

If it happened while Matty was working as an Auror, she'd definitely use the fact that she has the law on her side. The person would probably get thrown in Azkaban for life. Sebastian-- Well we've seen how he reacts. That person would definitely no longer be alive. 💀

-What would be their ideal evening in? Cuddling and reading to each other. It's soft, intimate, and just the two of them.

-Do they dance? If so, who's better? Matty is 100% the better dancer since she's been dancing ever since she was young. Sebastian SUCKED at dancing when he first tried it, however he's gotten better through the years and you can often find them just waltzing around the kitchen together like a bunch of saps.

-What is a song that reminds you of the OC's relationship? "Like real people do" or "Work song" By Hozier both remind me of them!

-Who sings to the other? Are they any good? Matty grew up in a musical family, so yes she sings quite a bit. To Sebastian and just whenever really.

-Who teases who? What about? They both tease each other but I'd definitely say Sebastian would tease her more often about anything, really.

-Who gets up early? Who stays in bed late? Matty gets up at the freakin' crack of dawn while Sebastian usually sleeps in if he can. This is because he's a night owl and so he's late out of bed. Matty conks out at like nine pm if she can and wakes up at like four HAHA.

-Who's more likely to bring the other coffee or breakfast in bed? Matty, purely because she's just awake first. However if Sebastian wants to do it for her, he's going to make it a priority. He IS going to get up before her and he IS going to make sure she stays asleep till its ready. 😂

-What's the worst thing the other can say to one? Matty: Probably any jokes regarding his parents death. Obviously she would never, but it'd probably be the worst thing she could say. Sebastian: Jokes regarding anything she had to go through while at school. Sometimes they joke about it together, because laughing helps them get through hard times. But if he seriously made any jokes about serious things that happened to her, she'd be really hurt.

-If they were ever in a life or death situation, who risks their life? Both, however Matty is more prone to risking her life all the time simply because of who she is. However Sebastian would gladly die to protect her any day.

-If it ever came down to it, who's turning to the dark side to save the other? Y'all, we already know the answer. It's Sebastian lol.

-If they ever had less than five mins to tell their S/O something before never seeing them again, what would it be? For the both of them, they would tell each other how much they loved each other and how much they are going to miss them. To be strong, and to hold out hope that they will one day reunite.

-Is there a word or gesture that makes either of them melt? Matty: When Sebastian takes the time for her. She's an only child, so she grew up with her parents always taking the time for her, that's how she knew they loved her. And she still keeps that and every time Sebastian goes out of his way to make time for her, that's how she knows he really loves her. Sebastian: When Matty listens. Throughout his childhood after his parents death, Solomon would never listen and he was often ignored. So when Matty listens to him about whatever it may be--his interests, his plans, his feelings, etc... He absolutely melts. It always reminds him of just why he loves her so much.

-Who's the romantic? Both of them, but I'd arguably say Sebastian is a little more romantic than her. She grew up reading romance so although she's a very romantic person, because she grew up reading romance and Sebastian knows that, he goes out of his way to be the romantic one and to make younger matty's dreams come true of being loved so dearly.

-Are there any characters who ship them? Just about their entire friend group 💀

-Who cooks? Who does the dishes? They both help out. They cook together and clean up together. But they usually split it as Matty cooks and Sebastian will clean up after. It's just a system that works for them. Obviously that can change at any time.

-Who eats healthier? Who has the sweet tooth? Matty is not a huge fan of sugar, actually. And because of her job she needs to be in peak physical condition all the time. So she definitely eats healthier. Sebastian is the one with the sweet tooth. He stays healthy since his job requires physical labor too, but he does enjoy sweets more than her.

-What's something that they don't really care for but tolerate because their S/O has interest? Matty: She could hardly care less about the books about the Muggle world that Sebastian reads, only because she grew up thinking she was a muggle for fifteen years. She knows a lot of it. However the muggle world fascinates Sebastian so she tolerates his obsession with it LOL. Sebastian: He does not care for all the boring details that go into Matty's job at all. He thinks the amount of paperwork you have to do as an Auror is atrocious. But since Matty is an auror, he'll tolerate hearing about all of it.

-Who tends to be the level-headed one? Who's feral? It depends. Out in public Matty tends to be the more level-headed one. At home? She can be herself, even if its a feral little gremlin LOL.

-Who reminds the other to wear a coat when it's cold out? Matty definitely reminds Sebastian, especially since she HATES the cold.

-Do they hold hands? Yes, all the time, anywhere and everywhere.

-Is there a spot they tend to kiss or caress habitual? they kith on the lips 🤠

-Are they willing to show PDA? If not, is there a reason? They have no issue showing PDA to each other. But they also only do it in times or places when that's okay.

-How would they describe their S/O in one word? I can't even describe either if them in one word so I have no idea lol.

-How would outside characters describe their relationship? Healthy and long-lasting.

-How would they describe each other in bed? In the simplest way I can put it, they love each other very much and are passionate. That's all you guys get to know HAHA.

-Would they ever answer the above question if it was asked to their face? How would they react? No. They keep their private life private. Now, they might joke about it with close friends but they wouldn't just give graphic details about it.

-Who tends to take the lead in intimate encounters? It depends.

-Have they ever been caught in the act? What would be their reaction if they were? Nope. Because Matty isn't stupid enough to do it places where they might lol, she's made that VERY clear to Sebastian. Its in a room alone or nothing.

-Have they ever done it anywhere questionable? As said above, nope.

-Who is more vocal? Who is more experienced? Neither of them have any experience before each other. Do what you will with that information.

-If they were to go shopping, who holds the bags? Who decides where they go? Matty's not really a shop-y person, and I doubt Sebastian is too. So they'd really only go if they needed to and Sebastian would probably hold the bags and let Matty do everything else since he has no idea what he's doing.

-If they were to go out to dinner, who is paying? Would there even be any discussion? They both have their own source of income and they do their finances together. However Sebastian is always insisting on paying for things. Early on, Matty would fight him on it but at one point she just let it happen.

-If someone were to insult their S/O, how would the other handle it? Matty would be upset, to be honest. She'd tell the person that they have no idea what they're talking about and that they should just shut up and keep their harsh words to themselves. Sebastian would instantly get angry, someone would definitely have to stop him before he did something stupid.

-If someone flirted/showed interest in their S/O, how would the other react? Matty: "That's my husband.... 👁️👁️" She'll leave it at that. The person will get the message. Sebastian: "My wife this," "My wife that," and by the time he's done talking, the person gets the gist that Matty is his wife and they'll leave it alone LOL.

-Who knows the other better? Why is that? I'd say Sebastian knows Matty better purely because she talks more about herself than he talks about himself. She retains more details about him, but she just simply talks more about herself than he talks about himself.

-Who is more likely to bail the other out of jail? Would they give the other sh*t for it? Matty is 100% bailing Sebastian out and yes. He would not hear the end of it.

-Which -if any- other famous ship's vibes do they emulate? I have no idea actually. But for the sake of it Imma say Rapunzel and Flynn lol.

-Are they soulmates? Do they believe in that? Yes.

-What is something that they would never forgive the other for doing/saying. Cheating. It would never happen, but if it did, there would be no forgiveness. They both know their worth and a cheating partner does not deserve them.

-Who has memorized the others medical history? Matty.

-Are they each others first contact in an accident? Yes.

-What tropes could be applied to this relationships? Friends to lovers, idiots in love, *exists* x is obsessed (if u really wanna go that way lol)

-Did they have a meet cute? Or was it a train wreak? They met dueling. Take that as you will LOL.

-Make their relationship a list of AO3 tags. Friends to lovers, idiots in love, chaos, everybody knows they like each other, idiots, mutual pining, happy wife happy life, etc...

-Who gets frustrated more easily? How does the other calm them down? Sebastian definitely gets frustrated more easily. Matty usually waits till he's calmed down a little himself so he's more sensible to go in and calm him down all the way.

-Have they almost lost one another? If so, how does it effect their relationship? They've almost lost each other many times, due to everything that happened in school. And even in their adult life. It makes them grow closer, to be honest. To cherish every moment they have with each other because the other might not always be there.

-Their S/O is tipsy. How do they handle it? Sebastian would have to be really patient with Matty since she can hardly piece anything together when she's drunk (I have a one-shot abt this coming out soon, hopefully). Matty would probably have to pry Sebastian off her if he was drunk. He's very clingy.

-Who gives the best gifts? Who gives the more thoughtful? Who goes for expensive? It depends. Neither of them are material people, so both of them lean more into thoughtful gifts.

-If they ever lost one another in a public place, how do they find each other? Matty would just wait in the same place. She knows Sebastian well enough that if they ever got separated, he is DETERMINED to find her no matter what. 😂

-What's the darkest secret they have ever told one another? They experienced what would be their "darkest secrets" together, so. Nothing to say there, really.

-Would they ever consider marriage? They are married LOL. Engaged at 19 but waited till they were 22/23 to get married so that Matty could have her last name on her Auror certificate. (That was Sebs idea btw, love him <33)

-Would they ever consider starting a family? Yes. They have five kids.

-Who likes kids more? Who can't stand them? Matty likes kids more, naturally because she grew up around them or took care of them when she was growing up. Sebastian likes kids as well, however he has less patience for them than Matty does.

-There's a puddle in one's way. What does their S/O do? Sebastian just picks Matty up bridal-style and carries her over. But there has been occasional silly pushing each other into the puddle occasionally hehe.

-One has hurt their leg on a hike. How does their S/O carry them? Sebastian: Carries Matty bridal style. Matty: also carries Sebastian bridal style (until he gets embarrassed and then he just rides on her back lol). She's stronger than she looks.😉

-Their pet has caused destruction. Who puts the pet in jail? Who defends the pet? Sebastian is unfortunately the bad cop. He knew if it was up to Matty the pet would never be told no LOL. So while he's putting them in "pet jail", Matty is telling him that "they're just a baby" and that they can't do no wrong. LOL.

-Who gives flowers to their S/O. What sort of flowers do they like? They both give flowers to each other! Matty doesn't like the idea of the first time a man gets flowers is at his funeral, so she gets Sebastian flowers quite a bit. She gets him Common Yarrow, as he's always said it reminded him of his home back in Scotland when his mum used to plant them out front. Sebastian knows Matty loves Azaleas, so he gets them for her quite often. And once they move into their home in Godric's Hollow, he plants Azalea bushes for her in the front.

-Who reads the newspaper? Who wants to see the cartoons? Matty: Cartoons Sebastian: Newspaper

-How do they wake their S/O up? Is it difficult to rouse them? Matty isn't a heavy sleeper, and auror camp did NOT help with that. It's really easy to wake her up. Sebastian usually wakes her up with kisses on her cheek or forehead. A gentle way to rouse her and start the day.

Sebastian on the other hand sleeps like a ROCK. It's so hard to wake him up sometimes. Matty will try to wake him up in a sweet way and give him kisses, hugging him, etc... But that only works every so often. So if she really needs him up, she's jumping on the bed till he's awake HAHA.

-Who would burn the world down for who? They'd both do it if they'd have to. But Sebastian would definitely do it first.

-Who gives off "they said no pickles" energy. Matty, honestly. They both kinda do but Sebastian would just get over it. Matty however is gonna make sure he gets what he asked for LOL.

Finally getting around to answering these!! Thank you so much for the ask!! Sorry this is so late!!

Not every role has been 100% assigned yet, most of them have. But not set in stone enough where I feel confident posting about them yet. I do however have Zelda, Impa, and Fi cast. So I’ma talk about them rq.

(I’ll add a link to the og post here for context since it’s been so long haha)

Petronille is Zelda in this universe. This isn’t because their personalities match- because as far as we know about Petronille they really don’t match like at all. But rather because Bonnie was a scared child trying to cope with the situation. And the idea that Mirabelle would triumph against all the evil in the end and save their sister is comforting.

Impa is cast as our beloved Odile. Because Bonnie likely saw the older wise woman and said “Heh! Just like Dile!!” And their personalities do match much better than Nille’s and Zelda’s does. And that assignment is all fun and games until you realize that Bonnie unintentionally doomed Odile to 100 years of waiting in solitude for Mirabelle to appear. Something that will have 0 repercussions on her after the fact surely.

(But hey! That gives Nille and Odile plenty of bonding time!! Maybe they’ll gain respect for eachother while being doomed together by the narrative ^-^)

Loop specifically is Fi- a more recent casting, ofc. Because while Fi is a lot more serious and collected then we know Loop to be. Why wouldn’t a preteen assign the weird star guide person to the weird sword guide?

And y’know the added angst of Loop having to help Mirabelle on their quest directly after the whole twohats (yes this is post twohats) fiasco. (They’re definitely two inconveniences away from a crash out but dw about it.)

So what’s the point of talking about all three of these goobers in one post?

Well I kind of have a theme in mind for this AU. Changing fate. Challenging the destiny assigned to you in order to create the future you want.

You see- this AU’s characters are split into 3 groups:

1. Those that can defy their roles/fates and do- Changing the narrative for better or for worse in an attempt to escape back to their reality or save their friends.

2. Those that can defy their roles/fate but choose not too- This is either because they believe fulfilling their role is more beneficial to their family over all- or have been manipulated to think they have no choice. (Our Ghiraham cast will have this issue, but we’ll talk about them later :3)

3. Those that cannot defy their fates without dooming everyone- these characters are so important to the story that if they were to not act out their parts there would be no chance against Demise.

Loop, Nille, and Odile are part of the third catagory. (Thats why I wanted to talk about them in the same post.)

If Nille doesn’t follow Zelda’s storyline theres no hope to defeat Demise and the story would never even get started in the first place.

If Odile doesn’t dedicate herself to protecting Nille and the temple of time as Impa does then they will be doomed.

Loop is literally bound to the sword, they have very little choice but to accompany Mira and help her with the prophecy.

These three have little choice- and yeah they’re all definitely pissed about it. Nille probably wants nothing more than to break free from this stupid narrative so she can find her sibling, Odile wants to find ALL of her family members and figure out what’s going on here, and Loop just wants rest.

But they have no choice. Theres too much at stake if they don’t preform.

The only reason Mirabelle isn’t in this category is because as Link she both has the most and least amount of agency. Because her actions are so detrimental to the story, even little acts of rebellion can cause completely different branching paths.

This AU is def still in its early stages despite how long it took me to answer this ask (sorry again!!) But the ask is 10000% appreciated. Thank you so much <33

Dancing with the pirate boys~🕺💃

I simply think we should dance! Dancing is fun!💕

This pirate au is by @mega-punani and these are just my non-canon headcanons <3 check out their page for more! (she's currently not updating this au but her page is a lovely visit!)

Sans Sooo you know those dances where one person does very little dancing and the other person is pretty much dancing around them, pulling them in? He'd offer one of those dances as a 'haha gotcha now I don't have to do much' kinda thing, but little did he know how you'd turn the tables on him! Oh the shameless flirting as you danced your little heart out! Your fleeting touches as you flutter around him, the looks you give him, the proximity as you pull him close, face to face, only to then pull away for another wide twirl~ He's at the centre of the stage and he cant leave, since he promised you he would do this for you. But oh this man is flustered. He is bright blue. And he simply cannot move his eyes off you. Even years later you can still easily tease him by seductively asking him to dance. He'll get bright blue and flustered again immediately even after your little wink ;) Ah man, you got him good. (The crew definitely teases him about it alllll the time. He just hehehs some more.)

Papyrus Yes yes yes he would love to dance!! Papyrus loves folk dances, ballroom dances, silly dances, tangos, just- anything!! Please ask him to dance! And don't be surprised if he asks you to dance either! He loves the joy of dancing in a group and seeing how invested and/or exited everyone is. Depending on how he's feeling, he can be either 1: a little stiff due to being nervous (maybe dancing in the crow's nest with waves like these wasn't your best idea...), 2: lose and carefree and a bit over enthusiastic (an absolutely joyous occasion or some alcohol may do this) or 3: comfortable, confident and super romantic (and pretty dang good!). He truly sweeps you off your feet in an awesome way! Definitely the type to be chatty during a dance too so he'll absolutely flirt with you while holding you in a dip.

Blue Folk dances hell yeah!!!! He knows a ton of them, is really good at them and is very enthusiastic! You'll have a lovely time with him and the gang, and he somehow knows how to make you feel special dancing with him even though you are also dancing with a ton of others. Maybe it's the way he looks at you? The time after the dance is well spent too: you are warm and tired and he is telling you stories about the dances' origins and the places he's learned them. If you dance for long enough you might actually get a very rare chance to nap with him: two tired and content smiling nerds snoozing on the couch. Slick and strict dances aren't his thing though. He loves the way they look and how romantic they are, but doesn't have the patience to learn and perform them well. He'll sweep you off your feet in a different way!

Stretch Listen honey. He doesn't dance. He plays the music. Important distinction. You can, however, convince him to try when you two are separated from the rest of the crew. You’ll be in a bustling town and evening is falling, and a band softly plays music for a buzzing cafe with terrace. And you may convince him to let you put your hand on his shoulder, to put his hand on your side, to put his left foot here, and his right foot there, then take a step there… and he'll be sweating the entire time, holding his breath until you tell him to breathe, darling. And he'll be stunned at how close you are. And he won't notice that you're dancing so sweetly until the song is over and you ask if you could do that again sometime. And he responds with a soft and flustered "yes" and watches you meld into the crowd to collect some drinks for you both. And he reasons that Yes, he truly might do that again…

Red "Heheh you can give me a lapda-" "No. >:/"

I think it would be difficult to actually get him to properly dance with you. He might entertain you for half a song but then he'll start trying to convince you to leave the dance floor with him. Its just not really his thing, and on top of that he's actually kind of embarrassed about looking like a fool unless inebriated. If you are out dancing he'll definitely brag to everyone and their parents that you're his pretty partner though! In fact, he might start taking you out to dance when the ship is docked just to show you off (and to make sure you have a good time of course). He'll request whatever music you need from the sidelines and watch you go at it. Man he has it good~

Edge You can convince him to take classes with you and hell take them super seriously, but he may have been too self-conscious/busy to start on his own. Learning to dance wasn't really a priority back on his home island and he might care if the others make fun of him for it, especially given his perfectionism. If he can use your request as an excuse to do it though... that'll probably do the trick! He actually really enjoys it: it's structured and beautiful and he can choose to either be in the spotlight with you or in a group where he doesn't stand out. He gets good really really fast too, so unless you are already quite good at it he'll be teaching you soon enough. It's truly a lot of fun and you actually see him smile a lot doing this. Truly a massive win.

Black An absolute show off. He knows how to ballroom dance but would never tell anyone even if asked. Except for you it seems! He puts you two in matching outfits, asks for a dance, and then shows off the fact that he has mad skills for dances like this. If he really wants to show off he might even create a spotlight out of sun or moonlight on the both of you. And to top it all off, he makes you feel absolutely special throughout the whole thing! …You can absolutely use this closeness to fluster him though. He can't escape your flirts while holding you this close >:3c He won't really join in on sillier dances or folk-dances unless challenged to, but his footwork and discipline are amazing so he likely will excel at any structured dance if he's been able to observe it well enough (to everyone's excitement and surprise). Any freestyling he will fail at though.

Cash On the surface he's making it seem far too easy to get him to dance with you. He makes it seem like he's out to get close and steal your stuff while he's there (as if he needs the proximity), but it's mostly a facade to hide how nervous this makes him. Like, genuinely dancing together? That's… vulnerable. Like Stretch, the crew can't be near at all, and honestly even strangers like a band are too much. You can gently persuade him to dance to the tune of a music box or radio you brought. You know you've made a genuine connection when he DOESN'T show you he stole something afterwards, even though he did it right at the start to have an easy way out of the situation. No one wants to dance with a thief, right? He puts it back in your pocket the next morning, and seems much more mellow the following days.

Bear He has a strict 'no partying in the kitchen' rule for obvious reasons, but if you are often hiding in the kitchen for some quiet time and tend to play soft music he might sway subconsciously to it, and if he has some downtime during the cooking process you might be able to persuade him to gently sway with you for a little bit, creating a lovely big blush on his face. Do a little pirouette in his arms and his day is all better. Other than this he doesn't really dance when the occasion arises, but you will find that he is completely focused on you as you dance either a silly little swing or some beautiful dance. He has no jealousy at all seeing you dance with others, mainly because his focus is entirely on you <3

Cinnamon Although complicated choreographed dances are difficult due to his eyesight and general clumsiness, simple slow couples dance can be done just fine! Simply swaying with him will have him comfortable and a little flustered. He would love to enthusiastically dance too but he's worried about hurting you and possibly falling on his face and embarrassing himself. When you do end up slow dancing he often needs to hold himself back from squealing at how cute you are this close, and he needs to resist the urge to suddenly spin you in circles and hug you so close because aaaa cuteness aggression! If you give him express permission to show it you'll end up having a very good time giggling with him, it's super sweet :) Also I am convinced this man can tap dance (or at least is trying to learn to) so if you can convince him to show you his skills you can have a lot of fun together!

I did have a question though: so there was a Queen Consort and a Concubine in the former royal family, and we held great respect for the Queen Consort even though the Concubine was our mistress. That fact stood out to me, since queens and concubines generally don't like each other very much. So how are those positions assigned in your world, and was there any rivalry between the two? The answer became quite long, so we’ll go under the cut!

Queen consorts (or king consorts) and concubines generally don't like each other very much is indeed true lol. Luxendis (and many other kingdoms) have had a lot of such rivalries in the past. This is also a very expected outcome in the Imperial House. Imperial nobles would often bet on who will outlast whom, making it one of their favourite forms of entertainment and a means of gaining more wealth and power muahaha!

Regarding the former Queen Consort and the Concubine, their relationship was actually pretty chill—quite close, even! The Old King and Queen Consort’s marriage was a political one, meant to strengthen both of their houses and prosperity of Luxendis. However, they had been good childhood friends beforehand, so their marriage was very cordial and peaceful. There were times when love blossomed in their hearts—childhood crushes and first loves—but the Old King grew out of these feelings. The Queen Consort did not.

Despite her enduring feelings, the Queen Consort was not a greedy woman. Being his close friend and standing peacefully by his side while sharing royal responsibilities was enough for her. She understood the burden of the crown and wanted the Old King to be not just a happy king but a happy man as well. And the Concubine could make him happy. After her personal spies reported that nothing was amiss and there were no foul schemes surrounding the woman who captivated her husband (there were far too many snakes who tried to manipulate him for power), the Queen Consort officially granted her blessing for their union as she presented the royal decree of appointment to the Old King. Yes, in Luxendis, only a consort can grant the position of a concubine; the ruler cannot do this (but they can pressure their consort tho).

The Queen Consort then gave the newly appointed Concubine one of her most dependable noble servant in her royal retinue—MC. Giving one of the consort's noble servants is a Luxendis royal household tradition that symbolizing goodwill between the spouses (and a potential means of spying or foul schemings, though the Queen Consort did not use MC for this purpose; it was truly a symbol of goodwill). Thus, MC received a big promotion and became a high servant 😆

Through MC, both the Queen Consort and the Concubine tried to build a closer bridge between each other. And it worked! They soon became close, initially managing their overlapping responsibilities—such as planning parties and charities—with good cooperation. Over time, their relationship deepened, evolving from mere roles of Queen Consort and Concubine into a genuine connection within the treacherous world of court gilded politics.

As you might have guessed, this is an ask blog where you can ask the Mayor (Blue) and Macaque (Violet) from LMK questions! However, before anything else, there are a few things that you need to know.

General House Keeping:

First things first, if you are not aware already, this blog is directly based and linked to the Blue and Violet Fanfiction series on AO3. Written by yours truly, me (admin/DF), haha! Link to the fic series is in the bio/under the header. If you want to ask questions, please make sure you are up to date with all the chapters in ALL the fics in the series.

What this means is that the only things Macaque and Mayor have experienced is within the context of this fanfiction series (which contains lots of establishment of how they know each other and their perspectives during seasons 1-4). Therefore, you definitely cannot ask these two about season five related things, because it hasn't happened to them yet!

Due to this, this blog will follow the timeline and events of what happens in the newest instalment of the series, 'Winter Mornings, Summer Nights' (previously, it was 'Colours'). Regarding Asks:

I think I will be able to answer every question that you all submit. However, if I find a question too offensive, too uncomfortable, too strange (meaning I just don't understand it :'D) or something that will potentially spoil the future events of the fic series, then I will have to unfortunately ignore the ask. Either that, or I simply answer the ask with a silly picture of some sorts. On that note, please don't ask any character or me what will happen next! They probably don't know either! You'll all just have to wait and see ;D.

You can ask both Macaque and Mayor any questions you desire (within reason of course)! Any side character featured in Blue and Violet is also open to any questions :DDD!

Not only can you ask the characters questions, but you can also just ask me questions about the series in general? Or just... Say something I guess? I've had people do that on my main blog, and it always makes me happy to see that people like what I am writing!

I would also like to make a minor PSA regarding certain types of asks: Yes, you can give gifts to the characters! However it is very unlikely they will become a recurring object. Also, I have noticed that there have been cases where people have submitted asks either roleplaying characters (both canon and OC) and/or requesting interactions with canon/OC characters. Please know that while I haven't had a problem with doing these yet, don't expect me to come up with the perfect response for it XDDD, nor expect any sort of continuation of role play. After all, this ask blog, while being a separate entity in its own right, still follows the narrative of the fanfiction series.

IMPORTANT: After experimenting with the ask box, I have decided that the box will be open for 24 hours whenever it opens! This allows people from different time zones to have an equal chance to get something in if they want, haha. No cap limit on the box for now, just go wild (before I regret this)!

that aside, I do find it disappointing that people get a glance at the morally bankrupt shit and decide to disregard him entirely without bothering to digest the rest of his character. if we looked the other way every time an idv character did some morally heinous shit we'd have zero fandom content, then again the idv fandom seems to have a poor rep with being able to acknowledge a character's shitty actions in general. half of the posting I see skims over the level murder afoot in the characters, or straight up just goes full ooc

any tips on writting fanfiction?

Hi anon!

I'm not sure if you're new to writing fic or not, but either ways, it doesn't matter because writing advice helps everyone, I feel. There's no hard and fast rules to writing, and definitely no one guidebook that has it all; I'm definitely not an expert on this, but I'll try to help you as much as I can.

Firstly, I'll focus on something specific I feel affects all creators regularly.

Please remember that fandom taken as a whole is meant to be fun. Fandom isn't competition, shouldn't be pressuring, and certainly shouldn't make you depressed. We can tend to fall prey to thinking of the stuff we and others create as "content". Fandom isn't content, and fandom is also not numbers. That said, this is all easier said than done. I was writing for quite some time before taking a break, and when I returned to it last year, I was depressed even before I posted my first fic haha and you can guess why xD

And honestly, we live in a world controlled by numbers, so it isn't surprising.

But fandom exists, because we make connections from a shared love for the same blorbos, the tropes, the delicious things, the serious things, meta, rabbit-hole research and so on. It's supposed to be fun, uplifting, engaging, like an after-school club that you enjoy.

So I've had a couple anons in the past ask me for writing tips too, and while I offered some stuff more on the technical side of it, this time I want to tell *you* - Please. Have fun.

The story you're writing is yours. You're writing it because you love it. Live in that world, breathe in that world, watch it play out like a movie in your head. Daydream, find inspiration, make posters, promote it, share playlists, drop spoilers, drop teasers, make headcanons - You're showing up to the clubroom with your very own science project model and the rest of us in the room are excited to see and talk about it!

You could be a native english speaker or not. It doesn't matter which. Write your fic the way you know how to. I've been wanting to make a different post about this specifically, but while English can be beautiful, but it doesn't have to be. It's a tool that you use to communicate an idea, a story, a thought, an emotion - and however you do it, in whatever form or shape or manner - the reader will understand.

It will be loved.

Be excited to share your fic. It's something born from your heart, and honestly, few things in the world are better than what you create from thoughts and emotions that cannot even be touched.

But you're making that happen. You're writing them, giving them shapes and alphabets and structure and sentences - and you're making it happen.

Ask game: #1

what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

Oh, that's a tricky one, but the first thing I would say is getting diagnosed with rheumatism (JIA) when I was 4-5 years old. I've sometimes gotten the question of how that diagnosis changed me, but the thing is that I don't remember anything else, as I was so little when the symptoms of this started. Living with rheumatism is my normal. However, already as a kid, I noticed a difference between me & my friends, plus there is a joke amongst my friends that "Saga became an adult already as a 6-year-old". So, I would definitely say that my rheumatism is a big part of having shaped & continues to shape who I am & to my fellow disabled people, try your best to ignore the disability inspo porn; the media narrative is always "I won't let this define me!"/"she didn't let her disability stop her!" but it's okay - & I would even argue that it's healthy - to admit that your disability/disabilities are a big part of you, that actually they do definie a big part of who you are.

For a more light-hearted one, I will say Ariana Grande & Little Mix. Yes, that counts as one thing! Unfortunately, I've never been able to see either live, but fingers crossed, maybe one day it'll happen. I jokingly say that my longest-lasting relationship has been with Ari as I became a fan of hers before her debut album was even released (I think before Victorious even ended... I don't 100% remember the timeline). As for the Little Mix girls, gosh I'm tearing up just trying to write this. But I became a fan of theirs around the time Move was released - that song was on repeat in my childhood bedroom & still to this day I know the choreo haha. Every single year since 2014, they have been my most-played artist. When me & my friends compare our Spotify Wrapped, it's not a question of who my most played artist is, it's who comes second to Little Mix (if Stray Kids or Ateez de-throne them for 2025, which I do think they might... it will be a very big deal for me). I cannot overstate how much these girls mean to me & have meant for me over the years.

Third & final, another pop culture thing, but it won't come as a surprise to anyone who knows me - SKAM. The impact that show had... honestly, you had to be there because it's difficult to describe it in words. I'm just so sad that the fans got so out of control that they decided to end the show early, because had they continued for one or two more seasons, it would have been my entire gymnasium time encapsulated in a TV show. I started gymnasium when Eva's season premiered & had we gotten let's say Vilde & girl Chris's season, I would have graduated gymnasium - together with the characters - as the final season aired. The societal impact the show had aside, what also made it so special was how they incorporated social media. Like the characters truly felt like friends, because they were in my phone, their Instagram posts were on my feed & I could see Facebook updates about them. Every day when you came to school, one of the main talking points was what had happened to the people in SKAM the previous day & if a season wasn't airing, we were speculating about who we would get to follow next. It truly was a generational-defining TV show & I'm honestly scared of watching it again because it's so intertwined with my gymnasium time... Oh, also, that show introduced me to @death-of-astar & sorry not sorry, but you're not getting rid of me at this point!

Someone that prefers quiet moments, doesn’t mind my occasional rants. We have a silent connection, and can usually tell what the other wants/needs. Someone who’s willing to talk and be honest with me about how they feel, and I can wait if they’re not ready. Looks wise, I prefer less muscular, taller than me (not a tall ask haha), and cute/pretty guys (I don’t mind hot/handsome though.)

Personality:

I can be slightly withdrawn and anxious at first meeting, opting to be accommodating and generally nice. But once I open up, I can be energetic and talkative. I’m very open-minded to everything and everyone (logically, there’s no reason for me to hate!), but I have trouble opening up and talking about my emotions, and can only do that comfortably under some form of anonymity (online friends for example) or if someone has prior experience with me venting. I will jump to defend people close to me if they’re being disrespected, and I can get pretty heated in the process. My friends tell me I can be brutally honest, borderline mean sometimes, but I really don’t mean to be (I have a different perception of what is rude.) Slightly touch-averse, but I won’t mind if you ask. I don’t like myself, but I don’t actively put myself down either. Would you say that Silver is low wisdom but high intellect? (Sorry to get all D&D on you again)

No worries, I have played D&D for a bit before so I enjoy it🍀 The internet defines intelligence as how "smart" a character is in the way of possessing knowledge and problem-solving skills, whereas wisdom would be one's intuition, ability to pick up on subtle clues, and their perception on their surroundings. With those definitions, I'd actually argue Silver has higher wisdom than intelligence!

For example, in Rivals 1, Silver clues together that "Eggman" is actually Eggman Nega due to "Eggman's" mannerisms and speech that he's been exposed to over the course of the game. In the scene before, he concludes that Eggman Nega would never let his camera out of his view, making it rather strange that "Eggman" has it all of a sudden; here Silver has also previously discussed the fact that the camera's technology doesn't exist yet in Sonic's present. He furthermore notices that "Eggman" mentions the present and future as places where he will be opposed no more. These are all quite small details to notice, which I argue tie into Silver's ability to perceive them well. And perception is part of wisdom, not intelligence. Heh, Eggman Nega even outright calls him perceptive in Rivals 2. Perhaps a case can be made that Silver going to Eggman in TSR after noticing him and Dodon Pa talking is a sign of perception as well, since Silver is the one originally taking note that the two of them appear to be working together. And in Colours DS, he is the one stating it feels like he and Blaze have teamed up before.

However, I reason Silver's intelligence isn't poor either. Though I can't speak for much of '06 since I never played it (see below as well), I do know he's got the occasional puzzle to deal with (such as the beloved ball puzzle in the desert, haha; he also has to do stuff with scales and his powers in Radical Train, I happen to know): that could be taken as a sign of him using his smarts to continue on his mission. He also is the one doing the Test of Memory to get access to Kingdom Valley, wherein the player must choose the correct option when provided with a bunch of prompts about Silver's adventure. In TSR again, he concludes that Eggman is yearning for the Ultimate Energy Engine and hired Zavok to steal it, where Eggman laments he was being too obvious about it. I argue that there Silver combines the clues he picked up with information he knows about Eggman in general to draw a (correct) conclusion, which I figure is also intelligence.

On the other hand, '06 with Silver trusting Mephiles very much exists, which doesn't speak wonders for Silver's intelligence (or wisdom, for that matter). But a critique of the game I've often seen is that everyone, heroes and villains alike, are juggling the idiot ball like mad and that a lot of plot points legitimately just inherently do not make sense. Thus, I cannot say how much of the game can be used to show Silver is a dumbass and how much of it is simply everything going wrong because the plot goes in a way that makes everyone look bad. So for '06!Silver I find it hard to say what his intelligence and wisdom are, but I argue that his characterisations from Rivals 1 and onwards are geared towards him having both decent enough intelligence and wisdom alike. He's repented himself by not immediately trusting Sonic in White Space and fighting him first before handing over the Emerald /j XD So generally, my own gut feeling is that Silver's perception and intuition are higher than his smarts: he's perceptive and can use information gained there to draw correct conclusions, but he's also very honest and straightforward, where a smarter character would perhaps know to watch their mouth and not say something that actively hinders their mission (e.g. with Knuckles in Rivals 2 or the Soleannan officials in the 2021 Sonic Channel story). Thus my overall conclusion would be that Silver's wisdom is higher than his intelligence; but with low intelligence I mean he's straightforward and doesn't mince his words which can get him in trouble, not that he's outright dumb.
