Being a biochemist wasn’t easy, but you also felt that it was not as intense as everyone had warned going into it. Most had attempted to scare you off from such a path, something you were glad you hadn’t given into now that you had found your calling and established yourself in a career. There was someone who has never done such a thing though, your boyfriend, Hoetaek. He was more than supportive, he was awe-struck. Whenever you would discuss things he looked at you as if you had hung the stars themselves. Well, until he snapped and made out with you passionately until he got you into his bed for a long night.

Despite your love for your job, today had not been a good day. Things had not gone according to plan, and now you felt as though you were bringing work home because you couldn’t get your mind off what happened. Hoetaek noticed as he came over and massaged your shoulders, kissing your cheek as he looked over one of them.

“Long day at work, baby? " he asks, despite knowing you well enough to know the answer already.

“Yeah, the compound that we added didn’t encourage the cells to break down any contaminants. In fact, the water was worse when we tested it after and I have absolutely no idea why. Those cells are already predisposed to clear things out, so why it got worse instead of better makes no sense.” You whine before huffing as you look at the papers in front of you, having done so for so long that it was all starting to blur together at this point.

“You’re so sexy when you talk about that stuff.” Hoetaek’s voice has dropped a couple of octaves now, but you’re shaking your head.

“None of that, I need to figure this out.” You counter trying to shake him off but to no avail.

“Baby that sexy brain of yours is running so fast it's frying. You need to step away long enough to let it cool off.” Hoetaek immediately says back, but you’re not giving in yet, despite leaning into his touch a little now.

“You’re just saying that cause you want me.” Your argument makes him chuckle. 

“Not entirely, when have I ever steered you wrong baby? You know I’ve got my own smarts about some things and you’re one of them.” Hoetaek insists and it is enough as you hum and let him help you to stand, “Now come on let's help you relax.”

Hoetaek draws a bath and helps you undress before you’re both getting in. He massages your back some under the hot water before settling you against his chest. His hands carefully work on every muscle before drifting elsewhere. Two of his fingers slipped between your legs to rub soft circles into your clit. Hoetaek hums when he feels you melt.

Then he’s lifting you onto his cock for the start of a very long night. After which you never doubted him again considering the solution was clear as day the next time you picked up those papers.

"Since I was told to close my eyes." They mocked laughed at your response, unbeknownst to you with a small roll of their eyes.

"Alright, open them" they said, watching you closely. Wanting to see every minute change caused by your reaction. Upon uncovering, the sky with a enchanting orange hue was revealed to you. While it wasn't your first time experiencing the seemingly painted horizon; you were never this high up and around nature like this.

"Wow~ it's so breathtaking," you spoke, your words coming out like it was true. Your other half voiced their agreement, sounding similarly in awe to you. You were none the wiser that they had been looking at you at that moment.

Please - A 'When the Phone Rings' fic

Baek Sa Eon basically begging Hong Hui Joo to pay him some attention.

See my previous post about how I sorta want Baek Sa Eon to think Hui Joo is actually on the phone to her lover (maybe seonbae) so we can see him go crazy that someone else got to hear her voice before he did.

I can't help it, here's a drabble more than a fic, more wishful thinking than possibility. I'll chuck it on AO3 and link it on my masterlist as well though it's nothing to what other people have been producing so far.

Sa Eon's fingers twitched around his phone. His grip on Hong Hui Joo's shawl tightened as he took in the scene in front of him. Her, precarious and swaying on a bench near the balcony, far from safe. The voice, so recently in his ear, now silent after his rebuke. Her, always her, eyes red and tears fresh, lower lip trembling.

Worst of all, her delicate hand holding a phone, one he didn't recognise (a secret phone?) to her ear. Her mouth. Her voice.

A voice he had never heard until earlier that day, that she had never used with him, that was forced out of her by fear, surely. Here she was, on the phone, speaking. Speaking to someone she didn't want him to know about. A secret phone, a secret call, fresh tears.

His thumb pressed the end call button at the same moment as he took another step towards her. Hong Hui Joo stayed frozen on the bench, watching him approach with a mix of desperation and terror in her eyes. His stride lengthened.

Fear was interesting. She probably didn't realise that in this moment, he was surely the more terrified one. Fear had been crawling over his skin since the moment he saw that picture of her thigh. Had seeped into his bones when he was sent a picture of her precious college seonbae. Fear had its gentle fingers cradling his heart since he met the man, witnessed her smile at him.

It was a different fear than the rage the kidnapper induced in him. That bastard was a psycho, some loser that would be found, dealt with, and out of their lives. He felt sick with fear to think of Hong Hui Joo crying, hurt, or scared for her life. But it wasn't this shameful, jealous fear that burned through him as he walked towards his wife.

His wife. If she had some bastard on that phone that was trying to convince her a divorce was possible, trying to take her away from him, take his wife-

He swallowed and snatched the phone from her hand, snapped it closed, shoved it in his pocket. Her shawl went on the bench, his now empty hands around her waist, clenching hard as he lifted her up and back down, savouring the slide of her body against his and he placed her on her feet.

"You can speak." His voice caught on the first word, cracking like some child. His brow furrowed. His hands, still on her waist, squeezed.

The fear was still there, plain as day in her eyes, taunting him with their sorrow and pain. She stayed silent. Of course she did, it was him that she hid from, he was learning more and more. All these years, he thought he understood her, had learnt her, had felt, selfishly, that he held a corner of her soul within his chest.

Instead, he was realising that what he had thought was an understanding between them was, in fact, a glass wall. All the appearances of normality, but in the end, he couldn't touch her, reach her. Hear her.

Sa Eon's brows twitched again at the thought. No, he was touching her now, she wasn't separated from him by anything, and anything (anyone) that tried to do so? Well, he'd focus on those bastards later, for now-

"Who was on the phone? Your seonbae? He's made you cry after all you said about how good of a person he is?" He winced. "No, wait, just tell me... I saw the video of you in the car. You were on the phone just then; I know you can speak."

Her tears continued down her cheeks, her eyes were wide. Hong Hui Joo had never struggled to let him know exactly what she was thinking. Every raise of her brow, crinkle around her mouth usually told him how frustrating she found him, that she was annoyed, exasperated, or expectant. Now she stared at him in shock, the fear present but dissipating, her lips pouting in confusion, her brows raising, eyes narrowing.

"Please... please let me hear you." His eyes closed and he indulged himself, leaning down, resting his forehead against hers. "Anything. Anything at all. Just let me hear you as well before I find whoever you were just talking to."

His wife jerked in his hands, chin lifting as she leant back, hands coming to his shoulders, probably to push him away. He held on tighter, squeezed his eyes further shut and begged.

"Please. I beg you." She stilled once more in his hold, hands softening and sliding slowly down to his chest. Her breath hitched, her ribs raising beneath his hands, the fabric of her dress catching on his ring.

He had always known that she was his weakness, had admitted as such in front of her only recently. He had thought that she could be used against him easily, but he hadn't realised that the one with the most power over him was actually her. Sa Eon was weak to her. Her whims, her demands, her opinion. Her presence. Begging didn't seem so pathetic when it was Hong Hui Joo.

Hong Hui Joo drew in a shuddering breath, hiccupping over the remnants of tears and upset. Another breath, two more. He dipped his chin, face inches from hers, opened his eyes, begged with them.

"Baek Se Eon."

His whole body shuddered as he felt his name, carried on her breath, against his lips. Her voice was deeper than he had imagined, than it was in the throes of panic. It was stronger, more mature.

He wanted to hear it more.

"Again. Please, again." He trailed his face alongside hers, pulled her closer, rested the bridge of his nose against the crook of her neck. "My name, say my name again, please."

Moments passed, he breathed her in, her hands had been forced back to his shoulders, his neck. His hands slid down her hips, took fistfuls of the looser fabric of her skirt. He took a step forward, backed her into the bench, slid to his knees in front of her.

"Please." It came out broken, shallow, distracted as he drew the sides of her dress up before pulling her down to sit on the edge of the bench. She went easily, eyes now dry and wide and dark. Her hands, which had previously trembled upon his chest, were sure of themselves, resting comfortably on his shoulders, awaiting his next move.

Hong Hui Joo watched him as he kneeled between her thighs, slowly drawing her skirts up and up, repeating the actions that had burned between them so recently. Her dress reached her mid-thigh when her eyes widened, and she realised what he was doing. By then it was too late, and Sa Eon lowered his head to her leg and, spotting the mole that had been tormenting him every minute since he learnt of its existence, he looked up briefly at Hui Joo, breathed a single word, and then kissed the skin next to it with a force designed to bruise.

"Please."

He moved onto the next patch of pale skin, kissed it gently, bit down, sucked a mark into it. A sound escaped Hong Hui Joo above him. He glanced up at her moan, saw her dark eyes and red cheeks.

He saw her lick her lips, and he bit down harder.

"Ah! Baek Sa Eon!"

It's the Jupiter-sized one of them when it comes to kudoses.) Summary: What if Rameses' son had not walked in and interrupted right when Moses and Rameses were talking during the ninth plague in "Prince of Egypt"?

Hoetaek was always incredibly soft towards his affection with you, he loved to bring you into his embrace in order to bring a smile to your face or just to comfort you whenever you’d had a bit of a bad day without him.

You were invited to work on a demo track for Pentagon, and so as one of the composers of the group, Hoetaek just had to be involved too, which was how the two of you met. The detail you went to when working on the track took him by great surprise, leaving him incredibly intrigued to find out a little more about you too.

Once the song ended up getting released, the group of course wrote their special mentions to go into the album packaging. When you read through it with your own copy, you were surprised to see a mention of your name in Hoetaek’s acknowledgements, with several hints dropped about how he felt about you. When you next saw him, you knew you had to confront him about it, surprised by what he said to you next.

D ⇴ DATES

With work so busy, the two of you will often have dates at the studio so that Hoetaek can get through his work, and also spend time with you too. He’ll always order in plenty of food, from the best restaurants to treat you with, sometimes even ordering a car to pick you up so you don’t have to walk down to the studio in the cold. Although they’re not always the most conventional dates, Hoetaek will always make sure that he spoils you and makes you feel special even on the most random of dates you share.

E ⇴ EXPERIENCE

He’d seen one of his relationships before go public only to not work out, and the last thing he wanted was to see that happen again. He always worked hard on keeping things relaxed, both for you and the fans too. He’d definitely learnt a few lessons from the last time to know what to do this time, but not dating another idol also seemed to work a lot better for him too, less pressure, and less expectation. It was still a lot for Hoetaek to worry about, but he knew that he had previous experience to learn from this time around.

F ⇴ FIGHTING

Hoetaek is well known to work incredibly hard, and so if you try and interrupt him, only with concern about his welfare, there are times when he can get a little bit snappy about things. Whilst he never means to, he just can’t help but sometimes say the wrong thing or take his frustrations out on you. Similarly, if he’s with the boys and their teasing him a lot, when they push too far, you tend to be the one to have to deal with his temper once the evening is over. He likes when you stand up to the boys’ teasing, and so when you don’t, he can’t help but feel a little frustrated that you didn’t have his back to tease them too.

G ⇴ GETTING TO KNOW HIS FAMILY

There was no better plan as far as Hoetaek was concerned for you to meet his family, then to take everyone on holiday. Sun, relaxation, and plenty of things to do and bond over, with all expenses covered by him, of course everyone quickly agreed, getting to know each other in such a beautiful place too.

With having his own room, Hoetaek will like to keep you incredibly private from the rest of the boys and spend most of his time in his room. He doesn’t like to share you, even if you do get on with the boys very well, he trusts them, but he’s wary, and there’s no way he’s going to let any of them get too close to you.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

Hoetaek was the first of the two of you to say, ‘I love you,’ when the two of you went out on a date one evening. He’d gone particularly overboard, which instantly had you intrigued as to what was going on, only to have your questions answered at the end of the night, just as dessert arrived, typically romantic of him.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

If he can find himself getting a bit jealous, then Hoetaek will tend to crave a little more of your attention, and make his presence known a bit more in the group. It’s not just so that you remember that he’s there, but it’s also a subtle nod to whoever is capturing your attention that he’s there, and that he’s your boyfriend too. He’ll find himself telling more jokes and trying to turn the attention of the group back onto him, with funny jokes, or at least attempts at funny jokes that will have him at the centre of everyone’s attention.

Although a family was never something that Hoetaek really thought of, overtime he began to pick up on how the lyrics often changed in his music to suit the changes that were going on in his life. Love began to crop up a lot more, and then plenty of mentions of the future, which naturally saw children appear in his lyrics too. It was a change he was fond of, and one he was excited to explore more until the day actually came.

L ⇴ LAUGHTER

If there’s one thing to expect with Hoetaek, then it’s always his poor attempts with dad jokes, which the other members very quickly warned you about when you first started dating. At the best of times, Hoetaek could tickle you by how funny he was, but it was the dad jokes that he always knew were your weakness, and so on those days when you’d been feeling particularly low or moody, he knew the answer to cheering you up again. They never got better, in fact they probably only got worse, but somehow you just found yourself laughing even more at them, even if it was at Hoetaek’s expense.

M ⇴ MISSING

He’d often try and laugh it off whenever he was missing you, if another member ever asked him how he was feeling, he’d joke around and brush it off as if it was nothing. It was usually only when he was in his hotel room alone, did Hoetaek really begin to think about you and realise how much he missed you. Whilst he could joke around with the boys, when it came to seeing you on screen or receiving a text from you, that’s when it often hit him that you were miles away. Around you, he’d crumble a little more, opening up about how as the leader he’d try and keep it together around everyone else as he knew they were struggling too.

You loved to tease him with all the terrible nicknames you’d heard the other members call him by, winding him up endlessly. He’d always be able to come back at you though with childhood nicknames he’d learnt from your parents.

Breakups are hard, but they are even harder when you find out you were being cheated on. Huitaek left a lot of his stuff in your apartment only adding to your struggle with reality. Three years is a long time to throw away and move on from, right now everything still seems to remind you of him. It has crossed your mind many times to burn everything he left behind in your apartment, in a drunken haze you almost went through with it. Luckily for the sane part of your mind, your friend would not let you start a bonfire with your ex’s clothes.

You ended things with him, but it still feels like you were the one that got dumped. The mutual friends the two of you have are hard to be around, even if he was the one that did something wrong. Some of them still side with him, because they have known him longer. Everything you do reminds you of him: the blankets on your bed are the ones he picked out with you, the tv series you are watching you started with him, the cafe you go to is where you and he went on dates. Everything around you reminds you of him.

Ending things with him was probably easier than the constant reminders you are faced with at the moment. You wish you could see the good times with him as pleasant memories and look past what happened towards the end of your relationship. But, when you think about catching him with her, the anger bubbles up inside of you and you cannot think rationally. Burning his clothes that he left seems rational when you are upset, even if you are aware that you are being dramatic. Hui had been locked away in his studio for almost a week now, and nobody was even sure if he was writing music. But they did know that part of the reason was because of the breakup. He was angry with the company for making him choose between them and you, but he couldn’t really take it out on them. So he had taken it out on you, and was now taking it out on his work and bottles of alcohol.

“Dude, you really should eat something,” Jinho sighed as he entered the studio without knocking. But as soon as his eyes landed on the many empty bottles in cans, his concern grew. This was a bigger issue than he thought. “Hui, what are you doing?”

“Go away,” Hui slurred.

“Hui, I get you’re upset,” the eldest said as he just stepped further into the room and closed the door, “but you can’t drown your feelings by drinking. You loved her, you should let yourself feel sad.”

“Well now I love alcohol,” he replied simply before taking another drink. “I'm fine, okay? I don’t need _____ anyway. I’m better off without her.”

Even though Jinho felt bad for him, he was getting fed up with his attitude. He knew Hui didn’t want to lose you, but he was stupid and fought with you when he broke up with you because he was angry at the company. He basically burned the bridge he had with you, so you weren’t around at all.

“You are?” Jinho asked skeptically. “So, are you happy?”

“I... Yes,” he lied, turning to look at Jinho instead of his computer screen.

Jinho rolled his eyes, shaking his head, “Whatever, Hui. You can say you were angry at _____ all you want, but we both know you were frustrated that there wasn’t anything you could do. But that’s no excuse to have treated her the way you did. You fucked up, not just the company.”

Jinho left his leader to be drunk and grumpy alone, but as soon as the older boy was gone, Hui broke down into sobs because he knew Jinho was right. There was no way you’d ever be in his life again, and it wasn’t even the company’s fault. The only person he could blame was himself.

(Here’s my problem. I live for apocalypse aus, specifically zombie apocalypse aus even though I’m terrified if zombie apocalypses. But idk something about like everything in ruins and people trying to survive together fuckin gets me so I love this too much and will 100% get carried away (like i almost made it just a full oneshot bc i love this idea too much but unfortunately ya girl has zero time lately) so lets go !!!!!!)

At the beginning of the apocalypse, everybody would be surprised somebody like Hui even made it because he’s easily terrified, he just kinda runs away and yells and cries, so like how did he even manage to escape getting eaten? That’s when you found him, and you had been running around with your friend that had escaped with you when the apocalypse started. He’s like, crying in the corner of an abandoned grocery store because there was a zombie in the back room and he knows he’s gonna die, but you come in and smash its skull in and save his life, so you and your friend decided to adopt him into your group. And let me tell you, months of narrowly escaping death and being surrounded by the undead will start to harden you up, and Hui definitely isn’t the terrified person you’ve come to know (especially not after he had to watch your friend get eaten alive and then comfort you afterwards). So you and Hui have been partners in crime for what feels like forever, and you know each other super fucking well. Like, y’all don’t even have to call out things when you’re fighting zombies, you both just seem to know what the other is going to do and then how to help. But being stuck together and only being around each other has made you both gain some feelings. Hui isn’t the tiny scaredy-cat you used to see him as, and you aren’t the crazy, stone-cold person he used to see you as. You’ve grown a lot closer -- so close, in fact, that you and Hui often joke that you may as well be married (plus, being in a zombie apocalypse isn’t really the best time to get laid so neither of you have really had any in a long time and loneliness builds up). But neither of you ever made a move because you’re just trying to live through each day and night, so you don’t really have the time, but you also don’t really know if the other feels the same tension. It’s not until you both end up getting trapped in the basement of an abandoned house that suddenly becomes surrounded by zombies that anything changes. Hui saved you from getting shot by raiders who were hiding out in the house, and you saved him from getting killed by the zombies that said raiders attracted to the house since you pissed them off. And when the two of you get back to your little hideout, you really realized that you may not get a tomorrow. Either of you could die at any moment, so why not act on your feelings? Needless to say, you didn’t really sleep a ton that night, and watching the sunrise with your head on Hui’s bare chest and listening to his heartbeat is pretty nice.
