32. my muse finds yours unconcious
‘please...move...do something.’
The robotic voice emanating from her phone would have been funny if she actually knew whether or not the boy was okay, but for now it couldn’t translate the panic she felt.
He had been leaned against the side of the building, lids still and face paler than usual. She had tried to feel for anything that could be wrong but there was nothing.
Now she sat with his head in her lap and Vanimelda pressed against his side in hopes of warming him up as she gently ran her fingers over his hair. Green eyes stayed on the boys face watching for any movement.
‘If there is a light, please run from it, not to it.’

As soon as he heard what was going on ands he saw the small fairy flutter by he floated up and plucked the child from the air. Soothing the small one as he wiggled his hands and came back down to the ground. A small toy car appeared out of nowhere.
“Vroomvroom” Arthur said as he let the car fly around the fairy’s head and then handed the child the toy before handing child and toy over to the stranger who seemed to be in charge of said little one. “Hello! I believe this one belongs to you?”
Yongguk’s eyes widen as he watched the stranger float up into the sky like it was the most normal thing to do. “Well I guess that’s one way to get him down” His gaze followed him as he came back down to the ground, the sudden appearing of the toy car surprised Yongguk. He’s seen all kinds of mythical creatures but this was new for him he was very curious.
Yongguk’s smile grew turning into a true gummy smile as he took the child in his arms settling him on to his hip. “He doesn’t belong to me I just take care of him but seriously thank you! I’ve had to chase this little guy for blocks before.” With a playful glare he looked down at the kid and boooped his nose with his finger and it caused Jongwoo to giggle and hide his face in his neck. “But seriously thank you, I could use your help at the orphanage” His deep tone laugh rang into the air. He held out his hand out to the stranger. “I’m Bang Yongguk, it’s very nice to meet you.”

Send me “DOWNPOUR” for my muse to show up on your muse’s doorstep during a rainstorm, drenched and shaking from the cold.
Scotch in her glass, piano music drifting through the room, candles lit, all the while the storm slammed against the windows. Curled up on the Jieun stared up at the ceiling drifting enjoying a rare moment of being utterly still. The apartment felt lonely without Changmin who had returned to his village for the week but he kept in constant contact missing her almost as much as she missed him.
As the music paused between songs she sat up, ears piqued as she slid off the couch heading for the door. Pulling a sharp dagger from behind the painting by the door the angel unlocked the door cracking it to peer out into the rain.
"Oh! Oh Arthur!" The blade was discarded as she opened the door to pull the boy in. "Whatever is the matter? Hold on don't move," It didn't take long for her to run to the bathroom grabbing the biggest towels she could find. Wrapping him up she rubbed his shoulders as she pulled him towards the living room.
"Is everything okay? Why are you out so late and in this weather?Did something happen?"

"Hey there! welcome to the bubble tea store, what can I get you?""
“Ah, hey!”, the merman greeted the stranger, his attention still a little sparse as he glanced around curiously at the store. Still with a not so small backpack hanging on his back, Seira decided to stop by the place to quench his thirst before continuing his walk— and also to sit down and rest his legs.
“Mn, so… Maybe something sweet and refreshing? More sweet than refreshing, actually. Lots of sugar sounds great to me.”, he smiled, pointing to a chair. “I really need to sit down now...”

"You’re still awake?"
To say she jumped at the sound of another voice would be an understatement, and after a small laugh the angel glanced over her shoulder at the owner with a forced smile.
"Mmm yeah, I was...I was reading." There wasnt a book in sight and sighing softly she swung her legs back over the ledge of the building to face her friend. "Why are you up here? Shouldn't you be back in your room by now? Won't Mujin worry?" She was teasing, a little, but also not. It was awfully late and usually, no one was around at this hour.
"Want to come sit? You can see for miles over this ledge." Some would say perching on the edge like this was dangerous, but that didnt matter to Jieun.

He had given her the 7 digit code to his room - she was a kind soul and he figured she sometimes needed some time away from whatever it was that was troubling the young woman. So it wasn’t a surprise when Arthur came home from work and saw the blob of dark hair in his bed. Gently he put his bags down and walked over to check if she was okay- she seemed to be sleeping and he imagined up a large plush of a giraffe and gently pushed it into the woman’s arms.
He would he sitting next to her on the bed, reading and listening to music through his earbuds, when she would wake up. Not wanting to wake her or be alone.

She dreamed she was dancing, in a field of flowers surrounded by small flittering fairies. Her hands were soon grasped by something quite warm and my the neck of this fellow was very long...too long. She couldnt see his face no matter how far back she strained her neck.
Bleary eyes cracked open she was realized her cheek was in fact resting against a rather long neck which she soon saw belonged to a soft giraffe.
"Oh, oh im sorry, " she half whispered, half yawned as she realized her friend was sitting beside her. "How long was I out for? I meant to come by and see how you were and invite you over to make cookies but you were away. I sat to wait and I must have fallen asleep."

“ another nightmare? ”
She flinched despite the others voice not being overly loud in the night air. She had been sitting on a bench under one of the bright streetlamps pretending to read when in reality she was staring at absolutely nothing.
After a noncommittal shrug she glanced up staring just past the boys shoulder in what she hoped would pass for eye contact.
“Just a bit of light reading.”
Jieun had been up for hours now after a rather dark night terror. She had flown for a while, visited the targets and all but destroyed one with the intensity of her shooting and knife throwing. Then she had taken a long walk hoping it would be the final straw in tiring her out before winding up on the bench sitting in about as much light as she could find but unwilling to return to her room despite the now freezing temperatures.
“Do you usually go for walks so late?”

✩ · Arthur might have ‘childish’ solutions even if he was one of the more mature ones of his little Quatro relationship he was in (well, he was dating the others. Not quite there yet). He did like the pink plaster on her outfit and sat down at the table watching her as she spoke. “turned their back to Heaven, you’re a fallen?” Arthur asked and Mujin looked over to Arthur and then to Jieun- was she?
“You should tell the vice-principal I hear he is rather ruthless, mean to some but I think he can be fair.” Arthur hummed at Mujin’s suggestion and sipped from the hot chocolate he just imagined up for himself. “They’re mean anyway, not how angels should be- are they? I thought all angels had to be nice. Like how imaginary friends are kind, or well, that’s what I am assuming I never met another one.”
She blinked once, twice, realizing they hadn’t known but why would they? Races had never really come up in conversation - though she knew Arthur was an imaginary just from context and well it wasn’t unknown.
“I...was a fallen, now I’m...” She was trying to think of a nice way to put things unwilling to scare away her new friends. “I have wings but they’re not Angelic and they tend too make things complicated.” No need for them to know of the chaos she spread through the heavens to retrieve them.
The comment about Key brought a genuine grin to her lips and she found herself laughing softly. “Key, I mean the Vice principal is indeed a very fair man, just avoid the broad end of that staff. ” She was fond of him and she hoped he was fond of her as well, he had yet to rebuke her for the fights so had caused with angels and she knew she had been reported before.
“Angels are always written as being so kind and lovely and some of my kin were. Gracious and compassionate. But some of them, many of them have a twisted sense of morality and they think what they’re doing is right...I used to as well.”
Reaching out she patted Arthurs cheek. “You’re my favorite imaginary friend and the only one I know and if the others are as kind as you, the world will be a better place.
“ wait here, i’ll be right back. “
The two had been walking together enjoying the slightly warmer temps when it had happened. The pause in steps, the slow realization of who they were faced with, the dawning of superiority. It was nothing new for Jieun, she was used to encountering their kind. But perhaps one could never fully accept the sting of insults and belittling when minding your own busines.
To the average person the encounter wouldn't have seemed like much, but to anyone that knew her, knew the way her posture seized, the way her eyes dropped as the two brushed past mumbling in a language most didn't understand, and then the tears welling in her eyes for a split second of weakness before she could blink them away. It was clear something ugly had happened.
There was a steeliness in his voice that Jieun had never heard before. It took her a moment to realize her friends shoulders were squared, lips set into a thin grim line and he was making a bee line towards the retreating offenders, a pair of Angels she had once upon a millenia been very close to. It was nothing for her to start a fight with angels, hell on a good day it brought her joy, but this was not something she wanted Mujin to experience. Earth bound angels were the worst kind of unhinged.
"Hey hey, hey, noo. Mu," running after him she grabbed his arm before sliding her fingers through his. "It's okay, ignore them theyre not worth it. Its fine, I'm fine see? It's okay." Squeezing his hand she offered a smile that was a little too forced cheer. "Please."
