META - Bakugo's feelings towards 1-A! Who does he actually view as a friend? Who does he actually hate? I want all those complex feelings about his classmates / 'friends'. ( also what does he think of those who have self-declared themselves his friend? )

Okay this is gonna get fucking long and that’s why I’ve been putting this off for so long but dammit I’m gonna give this a proper answer lol. I’m basically just going to list out everyone in class A and give Bakugou’s opinion on each one of them for the most streamlined way to answer this. Going to get put under a read more solely because of how long this is gonna get.

Aoyama: Bakugou thinks all the sparkling and speaking French Aoyama does is weird. Or how Aoyama seems to be pretty picky with what he eats and needs a neck napkin and placemat just to keep clean. But Aoyama generally stays away from Bakugou so he hasn’t interacted much to be further annoyed by Aoyama at all or have much to say to him. He wouldn’t willingly seek out Aoyama to partner up with during an in class exercise.

Mina: Doesn’t mind her too much. Mina’s firmly in the Bakusquad but she doesn’t really say or do much to bug Bakugou like Denki and Sero sometimes do to tease Bakugou, or push his buttons to get him to do something. She got on his radar enough to get the ‘Pinky’ and ‘Raccoon Eyes’ nickname from him, and he did notice that she’s good at dancing. 

Tsuyu: Bakugou doesn’t have much of an opinion on Tsuyu mostly due to their overall lack of personal interaction. He hasn’t vocalized it to her, but in his head he calls her ‘Frogger’ (yes based off the video game). So he doesn’t have a good or bad opinion of her as a person, or as a hero in training.

Iida: Thinks Iida has an annoying stick up his ass for sure about being such a stickler for following rules (as if Bakugou doesn’t do so himself, but on the other hand he doesn’t make a point to make sure everyone else does). Definitely gets enjoyment out of doing stuff just to get a rise out of Iida (case in point: feet up on his own desk). Doesn’t mind teaming up with Iida for mock battles in class, but Iida isn’t his first choice anyway. Bakugou is aware that Iida is one of the few classmates that snuck out to help rescue him from Kamino and he respects that shockingly delinquent course of action from Iida, but it earned some of Bakugou’s respect because of some of the risks that choice entailed, both as a UA student and as a bystander that got in close proximity of both the League and All For One.

Uraraka: (is a bit verse dependent if Bakugou’s with her or not) Thoroughly respects her after their sports festival match and wants to have another face off with her someday to see what strategy she’d come up with next and if he can best her a second time. Also pleasantly surprised at how physically strong she became after interning with Gunhead, and is interested to see how her Quirk training progresses and what extra skills she may develop for it over time.

Ojiro: Thinks he’s boring like a lot of people do, but like others in the class Bakugou has little opinion of Ojiro due to their overall lack of personal interaction so it doesn’t contribute to Bakugou thinking he’s an overall boring person. Bakugou knows he’s got a tail that’s apparently strong enough to knock people over, but that’s about it; doesn’t pay attention to Ojiro’s martial art fighting style at all.

Denki: Bakugou tolerates him. Denki’s firmly a member of the Bakusquad but Bakugou can get more easily annoyed by Denki than other members of the ‘squad’ sometimes. Mostly due to Denki’s high levels of energy and penchant for saying or doing stuff to playfully tease Bakugou like Sero often does. Doesn’t regret coming up with the ‘Dunce Face’ nickname he gave Denki, and switched over to ‘Pikachu’ more since Denki hasn’t short-circuited in awhile so the old moniker isn’t as applicable anymore.

Kirishima: (is a bit verse dependent if Bakugou’s with him or not) Kirishima’s become Bakugou’s ride or die since the cavalry battle. In that match he showed Bakugou that he’s reliable, and tough, and has room to improve that he plans on doing so to the fullest. Kirishima’s energy is good for Bakugou to be around (even if he won’t necessarily admit it) and he’s been a good influence on Bakugou as well. He appreciates Kirishima risking the trouble to save him at Kamino and knows the risks that came with from him doing so. At this point, Bakugou knows Kirishima is someone he wants to have as a friend for a very long time, and could even see himself partnering up with once they become full fledged pro heroes.

Koda: Bakugou thinks he’s a wimp honestly. Between Koda being a very soft spoken person anyway, apparently being afraid of bugs, and just not being in the forefront of things whenever they happen, Bakugou doesn’t really know why Koda’s there in the hero course.

Sato: Doesn’t have much of an opinion on Sato either for the usual reason of not much personal interaction with him. The class B joint training is the only time Bakugou’s worked with Sato in a mock fight and they meshed well in the group, but it wasn’t really enough to keep Sato in his sights. Bakugou doesn’t even have a nickname for Sato either, that’s how much he’s not on Bakugou’s radar personally or as a fellow hero in training.

Shoji: Has little to no opinion of Shoji for the usual reason. Thinks all the octopus arms and stuff looks weird, but Bakugou interacts with Shoji so little it’s not even worth it for him to bring up. Shoji’s not his first choice by any means to partner up with for an in-class exercise, he knows the sentiment would be reciprocated and Bakugou doesn’t really care either way.

Jirou: She’s one in the Bakusquad that Bakugou thinks he vibes well with more than others. Jirou being one of the most mellow members of the squad (but not in a bad way) makes Bakugou a bit more comfortable seeking out her company over say Sero or Denki who are much more talkative and energetic and likely to get on Bakugou’s nerves. He and Jirou can just hang out and not need to fill the time with talking or sound every single second. Working together with her in the class B joint training showed him how their fighting styles can work together without them being in the way of the other, and Bakugou would willingly partner up with her again for future class exercises.

Sero: Another member of the Bakusquad that Bakugou sort of tolerates more than anything. He’s not a fan of how Sero knows how to say so little and easily manipulate Bakugou into doing something (case in point: convincing Bakugou to play the drums for the school festival performance). But having Sero in his group for the class B joint training helped Bakugou appreciate Sero a bit more in them being able to work together but not getting in each others way to the point of hindering the other.

Tokoyami: Doesn’t have much of an opinion on Tokoyami as a person, but the fact that Bakugou’s Quirk is such a foil to Dark Shadow and how easily he’s been able to take down Dark Shadow on multiple occasions (though one of said occasions was out of safety for himself and others, but still) has Tokoyami on Bakugou’s radar more than other classmates. He doesn’t have a particular nickname for Tokoyami (yet), but Bakugou’s secretly intrigued to see if Dark Shadow is ever able to present Bakugou with a harder fight where Bakugou doesn’t win as easily and they could have a more challenging match.

Shoto: (is a bit verse dependent on if Bakugou’s with him or not) Mister Threw-the-match will never entirely get away from that occasional moniker. Shoto is the first person in the class that Bakugou viewed as a true rival in terms of power and capability. Shoto being a recommended student didn’t matter to him or not, but Shoto was Bakugou’s wake up call that he’s still not the best of the best and that there can and are other people who can challenge Bakugou in a fight and can just as easily keep him from the top spot in class. Served Bakugou a much needed slice of humble pie whether Bakugou wanted it or not. He respects Shoto’s power, but he would never pick Shoto first to help him in the kitchen unless the boy went through some serious cooking lessons. 

Hagakure: Bakugou has no idea why she’s in the hero course. Her Quirk is good for stealth but he has zero idea how she passed the entrance exam (especially considering she’s far from a top student academically) with her limited physical strength and not really able to do anything offensively at all (he thinks her being able to reflect light is boring honestly) and was able to secure a spot in the hero course. Unless he got partnered up with her by a teacher, Bakugou wouldn’t willingly partner up with her. Also because he would have little to no idea where she is and if she was in range of one of his explosions, so she would be a huge liability while working with him because he can’t do anything to protect her from his Quirk or know if he needed to be careful to not hurt her, so that liability is a big dealbreaker for him.

Deku: Bakugou’s opinion of Deku has improved vastly over the course of the last year alone, and he now views Deku as a friendly rival or more of an equal than he ever has. Watching Deku progress and become stronger and be able to hold his own has shown Bakugou that Deku is no longer the crybaby wimp he used to only see Deku as, and he’s someone worthy of taking on All Might’s mantle and just maybe, they can start being proper friends. Bakugou still has his own inner demons to fully own up to, but they’ve started working towards a better partnership between the two of them.

Mineta: Bakugou’s far from a fan of Mineta. He’s had more than one occasion that he wanted to kick Mineta over the perimeter wall of UA for some of the comments he’s made about their female classmates since Bakugou does drink his respect women juice, but he doesn’t feel like getting stuck under house arrest again for it. He did get a lot of enjoyment out of Jirou poking Mineta in the eye with her earphone jack though. As a fellow hero in training, Bakugou hasn’t paid Mineta any mind and has zero desire to. Mineta’s basically at the bottom of who he’d willingly partner up with for an in class exercise.

Momo: Like Iida, Bakugou’s not a fan of how much a stickler Momo can be for enforcing the rules both for herself and for others. Bakugou is aware that Momo is one of the few that snuck off to help rescue him from Kamino and he respects that she made that risky and dangerous choice to do so. He might not necessarily seek Momo out to partner up for an in class exercise since she is still very untrained with both her confidence and making stuff (and utilizing what she made) quickly, so Momo being a sort of slower fighter wouldn’t make her as good a fit to work specifically alongside Bakugou, but if she gets better and shows him what she’s got, he’d be more inclined to try and work with her more.

As for those in the class who have self-proclaimed themselves Bakugou’s friend, he’s kind of had no choice but to accept it because he isn’t going to be able to change their mind or drive them away. If the Bakusquad was going to decide they didn’t want to be his friends after all, it would’ve happened by now and Bakugou knows it. He’s taken the having a ‘squad’ in stride, even if he gets annoyed by some of them at times.

It brought a smile to his lips as he turned his head towards where the scent was emulating from and he bowed his head slightly. “Todoroki-kun, hi!” he chirped, the wide grin over his features at the appearance of his classmate and friend.       “I’m not in your way, am I?”

concern is something that izuku reaches for easily. it’s right there, for each and every one of his friends and some people who didn’t yet know they’d been adopted into that every growing circle of people who mattered to him. it’s a pretty pleasant day despite the relative tenseness in the air as people prepped, speculated, and planned for every potential move of the league of villains.

bakugou is over talking with a side kick and midoriya is pulling free his bento, two more packaged neatly in green cloth. he makes his way towards where todoroki sits, a smile on his lips as he pulls another free.      “hey ... i don’t know if fuyumi packed anything for you today, but if not ... do you wanna eat with me?” he asks.

his smile is soft and reaches his eyes. sometimes, being in endeavor’s agency still feels like an invasion of todoroki’s personal space.

The entire gym Gamma had been stripped of its training terrain to instead be a flat slab of ground, tables and chairs set up by the teachers and several of the other sections had decorated the interior for the Valentine’s Day dance. Uncertain if she would go at all, it had been through the encouragement of Mina and Momo that Ochaco had shown her face, adorning the dress she had taken to I Island.

She couldn’t afford anything new, but it was enough to go to the dance.

Minutes within arriving, the gaggle of girls that had entered the gym together had parted away, divvying up and taking up dance partners to relish the festivities. Standing near the wall, Ochaco peered on, watching the dance floor fill with couples, the music shifting from lively dances to that of a slow ballad, encouraging the closeness of others.

Brown eyes dipped away to the ground—there was only one person she yearned to dance with, and he had been nowhere to be found. Perhaps he had decided to skip out on the event to avoid being surrounded by those who clamored for his status and looks. Ochaco wouldn’t blame him, but her normally cheery expression was falling, not even realizing when someone was approaching, her mind swirling with those thoughts she had promised to push down.

At least, until the familiar tenor resonated from the frame in front of her, causing her chin to snap up, soaking up his appearance.

“…Todo…roki?” She managed out through quivering lips, her chocolate eyes locked upon his multihued gaze. There he was, stoic, but the slight edge of a smile, the joy easily rising up across the brunette’s features as she nodded eagerly, lifting away from the wall and sliding her hand into his. “Yes, of course I will!” Perhaps too excited, too enthusiastic, but Ochaco didn’t care.

He was here after all. That happiness couldn’t be hindered now, especially as she walked with him towards the dancefloor, her heels clicking as she rounded upon him. Facing the boy, her fingers slipped away from his own, coming to rest on his shoulders, encouraging him to take her waist, the pinkened cheeks seemingly growing brighter in cheer.

“I thought you weren’t going to come.” She offered out, slowly following his lead. She did not lean upon him as some others were, instead coming to favor peering up at him instead. To look upon him fully and not lose herself in the warmth of his frame. “No one had seen you…and I…” Her blush only seemed to increase as she glanced away, despite the smile that seemed cemented on her lips.

“I have something for you, but I left it in my room.” Homemade chocolates to offer him, wrapped up neatly and to be given with her feelings. “So, maybe after the dance…you can stop by? Or…” Not to sound too eager, she didn’t need to offer it to him on the day itself. “Tomorrow too, that would be okay.”

Finding Shoto wasn’t a complicated task; no from what the others had told her he was outside practicing. Had she been wiser in the moment she would’ve greeted him before approaching. Before the grass she was walking on turned to a sudden solid sheet of ice beneath her feet, sadly she hadn’t.

Footing was lost & she couldn’t find anything to grab a hold of to prevent the fall. It all had happened so fast she couldn’t even brace for what was to come.

❝ I - Ice -- ❞ A panicked response before a loud crack seemed to resonate from the impact; Jirou’s skull meeting the ice. The last visual offered was Todoroki nearby before the veil of darkness claimed her vision completely.

The longer the two of them sat side-by-side, simply studying in the quiet of his room, the heavier Izuku’s eyelids felt. Drowsiness had been edging in and out of his mind, and he’d all but stopped actually moving his pencil or scanning through the words in the book a few minutes ago now. Normally he’d be frustrated by it and try to urge himself to continue working despite the somnolence, but he felt oddly comforted beside his friend. 

It hadn’t taken long for him to end up leaning against the other’s shoulders as his eyelids finally drooped closed. He was out - for good now - and while he’d likely be flustered over it once he woke up, right now all he felt was fulfilled.

                       Zen tilts his head slightly,  taking  a sip from his tea that                  he had ordered. It was a nice off day for him, so he decided                 to spend some time at a tea cafe. He hadn’t been expecting                 to see a familiar face during his down time though. But then                 again,  maybe  he  was  being  too  full of himself to assume                  that  the  other  would  recognize   him.   If  he  remembered                  correctly, he spoke with  Jumin  more  often  then the rest of                  the RFA members.

It had been snowing most of the day today and a few centimeters had accumulated on the ground. At least they didn’t have any training outside today, but they probably would tomorrow now that she thinks about it. 

Oh well... at least she can enjoy watching the snow slowly falling down onto the ground for the time being next to the large window, it was kind of relaxing.

“The snow is really pretty.... don’t you think, Todoroki?” Leia smiled, glancing back at Todoroki who was sitting nearby on one of the couches in the common room.
