So i recently played my first ever dating sim and I actually liked it,and now I starting to rly like char from it

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I might look into some tutorials to see if I can make an android version. I'm still completely new to coding to the point where I thought # WAS A FULL COMAND FOR RENPY. Someone in a tutorial mentioned commands while adding the # TO EXPLAIN the code...took me months to realize I did not need to use it to help renpy read the python ver (yes it haunts me, humiliation ritual 3 2 1). caveats:

Forces is technically a Hedgehog Engine 2 game, however it works drastically different from Frontiers/Shadow Generations, and the way it processes normal maps are different as well. Otherwise, pretty easy

the Storybook games use the exact same stuff between them and you only need one tool (and the SEGA NinjaNext blender plugin) to get everything from them and I think thats beautiful

Most of the reverse engineering done for Hedgehog Engine games was done for Generations and works perfectly for other games as well, however despite this Ive never seen a proper tutorial (written or otherwise) for how to do it even though its the most common and super easy??

Heroes and Shadow05 are the only two games in the entire franchise that use RenderWare which is fascinating to me as it was a super common and in fact the most commonly used game engine and 3d API in that era. Most of the tools used for it are meant for the ps2 GTA trilogy games and modding scene which is funny to me

for original Riders Im gonna be honest this is difficult to do but I Want people to know how to do it especially since I had next to zero guidance on how to do it myself and want to help people avoid the same grief. You will need to know how to use python and command line for this but I promise once thats out of the way its smooth sailing. Dont jump in blind. the same general process works for both the Gamecube and the PC version. also the Riders rips on the-models-resource are in desperate need of replacement theyre soooo baaadddddd

all the main sonic mobile games use Unity. its super easy. the models are in fbx format in the game files. wonderful

note this isnt necessarily what I'll do first, just to see what people want the most.

no need to be sorry!! i've been hyperfixed on this kinda stuff recently so i'll love to share lul ( ◕‿‿◕ )

i've been coding the AI application for it to store memory and customize the prompt more, but the basic program to run the AI itself is ollama! you can just run that program on its own in ur computer terminal and download any model u want ^w^ i personally use huggingface to find new models to run, especially if ur looking for uncensored ones they got those!

your PC specs determine what models can run the best locally tho, since its not like c.ai or chatgpt there's no servers but ur own device running and generating replies, the more RAM u got and the better ur CPU and GPU is means u can run bigger models and run especially the smaller ones faster

if ur wanting to make something that runs in its own application like i've been setting up here you'll have to code it on ur own ;w; i personally have just started learning python so my process has been a mix of trial and error, following tutorials and using the copilot AI feature in VSCode to help explain things and troubleshoot errors and stuff i dont understand

if u wanna start coding i highly recommend using VSCode since u can code in many other languages and its got useful features for debugging and stuff ^3^

the video tutorials i watched were these two, both use ollama and show u how to set it up but the 2nd one shows u how to set up the basic code for the chatbot that i used to build off of to make what i got rn

i dont really talk about my python (or programming in general) endeavors on here but i gotta show appreciation for this somehow, if any of you use python regularly and either aren't using any form of logging or would like to use proper logging more often but are annoyed by the standard logging library provided i found this library the other day thats a fucking wonder: https://github.com/Delgan/loguru

i almost never use the logging library outside of larger scale projects because i find it incredibly unintuitive and annoying to set up quickly without lots of alt-tabbing to the docs, but loguru lets me get going straight away so much easier, very likely going to be a permanent part of nearly any project i do now

Okay so im really really reaaaally hyperfixated on ball pythons right now specifically because i really want one. i know like a lot about caring for them now and I’ve done so much research like i wanna get a young one that has been eating frozen thawed rats because live rats can be dangerous and their diets are hard to switch. also ive noticed some people dont give them something to climb in their enclosure which i would like to do because why not ive heard they like climbing sometimes but yeah i would love to design an enclosure that would appeal to the individual snake. i would also love to use it as artistic inspiration and maybe let it chill on my shoulders sometimes. but not too much because i wouldnt wanna stress it out. there seems to be a debate about reptile’s capacity to feel affection and i would really like to test that msyelf. just generally im really curious about reptile intelligence because idk i feel like they are smarter than people realize. i would probably name the snake crowley or sir pentious lol-

I wanna make a player-insert murder mystery themed tf2 visual novel (using ren'py (python))

Plot

The game takes place in a new burger(?) Joint that opened up near Teufort, and the player is a minimum wage worker. The mercs show up for a midnight fast food run, when they find the dead body of one of the mercs in the joint. Soldier calls spy and the place goes on lockdown while everyone tries to figure out who the spy is. The player gets to interact w the mercs and befriend them and gain their trust, all while trying not to draw suspicion to themself since they're just an innocent(?) worker. There are different endings depending on how many clues the player found / how strong the player's friendship is w certain mercs.

(This is just my & my friend's idea, subject to change if it gets past the idea phase)

Roles

Story / dialogue: come up w clues for the murder mystery and how the characters act / interact w the player

Code writing: coding for the friendship points in ren'py (which works using python. I choose ren'py bcs its free and good for visual novels)

Sprite drawing: Waist-up sprites of the mercs showing a range of emotions according to their dialogue

Background drawing: back- background.. background. Mostly just interior drawings

Sound designer: choosing background music & sound effects, mostly just from the tf2 ost unless the sound designers deem otherwise

hehe thank u thank u ... i hope so too !!! im working on moving away from the template i started with, it's a lot of work figuring it all out but im having a blast, coding is a pain in the ass but once u get the hang of it its so cool seeing what uve been working on coming together all nicely :D html is generally an easier language to learn than something like javascript or python, since it's much more immediately readable. it has a lot less potential than those two, but it doesnt necessarily need to be the most complex thing in the world! u can still get a lot out of it, and most things tht i dont understand immediately i can usually infer what theyre Supposed 2 do and tht makes it a lot easier. much less math too LMAOAOAOA

a lot of coding is very similar so use python to understand like. code structure and break down first. its really just about figuring out how to make all the pieces stick but the barrier to entry is low and there r a lot of resources so i believe u can do it.
