"the thing I love most about genre and why I really only want to be in this space, is because you can say subversive things about the world that you just can't get away with in a straight drama. It would either be too earnest, it would either be too boring, too wonky . . . But there's something about the fantasy and the action and the fight scenes – there are lots of spoonfuls of sugar all around it that we get to have as an advantage when we're telling the story. You can watch a takedown of late-stage capitalism and the risk of democracies falling into fascism and be entertained and laughing as you're doing it. It's difficult to do that in a straight drama. Now, in terms of the false sense of security, I can't control how people view that stuff. When I watch it, I see the subtext of it, and I see [that] someone is making a point and warning us that something like that is possible. I think there's something actually healthy about a little bit of distance between the viewer and the subject, where they can look a bit of a different world that maybe they'll see things that they're not noticing if they're just watching the news. They'll just have a perspective that gets them a little more clarity. But anyone who is reading or watching any good science fiction and saying, “Oh, this is just fantasy." They're not looking at it closely. Anything good – and I mean any, name it: “Star Trek,” “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer,” “The X Files,” anything — it's all talking about the world that we're currently living in, and at least for me, that is what is so appealing."
From another answer:
"But on the other hand, anyone who can push this kind of story through and make a lot of people feel a little less alone, it’s worth doing. Again, not to belabor a point, but you can sneak a lot of stuff into genre. [...] What's great about what we do is there are subversive ways that you can get your message across even in times that aren't necessarily friendly to that message."
Emphasis mine, of course.
One very interesting Q+A about SPN under the Read More, bc this is getting long:
I think there’s a connection between “The Boys” and “Supernatural,” which you had created. I like to consider what different shows say about the American story, and I actually spoke to [“Supernatural” co-star Misha Collins] a little bit about this at a Comic-Con a long time ago. He pointed out that the show’s overall theme isn't necessarily the vision of good and evil that the post-World War II version of the American story is deeply hooked into, that it’s mainly about American masculinity. I would love your perspective on whether there's any kind of continuum there, in terms of what keeps drawing you to these stories and what they might say overall about how America sees itself.
I mean, look, we're all products of our experiences and our upbringing and the media we consumed. I'm a sucker for [Steven] Spielberg, [George] Lucas, you know — “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Star Wars,” the million subpar copies that are so deeply in my brain. Those were always the stories I gravitated towards.
But as I got older and a little more experienced as a writer, I learned quickly that character psychology is really everything, at least for me. It's how I make sense of the stories. And when you start breaking down the psychology of the traditional masculine hero, like for real — when you are like, “OK, what makes that person like that?” – you quickly reach the conclusion that they are so f**ked-up, so wounded and so broken. It's just natural. You just wouldn't run into that burning building and be making those quips and . . . diving off a skyscraper like John McClane. You’re just not doing that if you're not, like, a deeply f**ked-up person. And that became really interesting to me.
During “Supernatural” — probably a little more Dean than Sam, because Sam was always meant to be like a regular guy. But Dean, the notion was like, “OK, but if you were Han Solo for real, like, how f***ed up are you to end up in that position, making those choices?” Then we started playing that, and Jensen [Ackles] was really good at it. And that became really interesting to me.
Then when we got into “The Boys” . . . one, it's baked into the source material. But two, “The Boys,” at least our version of it, is not just subversive about politics or superheroes. I think it's intentionally critical and a little subversive of the structure of the genre itself, in that violence is a . . . psychotic way to go about solving a problem.
A movie we reference as much as we reference any other movie in the writers' room is “Unforgiven." We talk a lot about how Eastwood so brilliantly took the conventions of a Western to point out how damaged the cowboys and gunfighters in that Western would be — how corrosive revenge and vengeance and all the things that are the bread and butter of superhero movies and westerns and action movies, how corrosive and toxic all that stuff really is. So anyway, you're right. It's been an ongoing interest of mine.

Animation Night 176: The Hedge-Pigge Whin'd
Thrice the brinded Cat hath mewed, Thrice and once the hedge-pig whin'd, Harpier cries, 'tis time! 'tis time! - Macbeth
For the fourth time, Animation Night encounters Halloween. What horrors yet await us? Oh, there are....... many...
I'm going to keep this writeup pretty short bc (as is probably evident from the Posting lately) I'm not in the best of sorts.
The traditional Animation Night halloween goes something like this: a vampire-related anime, some Yamishibai, and something weird and different. Sometimes that leads to discovering some truly great and unexpected films, like Birdboy: The Forgotten Children (Psiconautas) by Alberto Vasquez. I had been thinking of doing Vasquez's Unicorn Wars tonight, but I decided to hold off to rewatch Birdboy alongside it in a week or two.
Other gems we've encountered have been the Chilean stop-motion film obliquely about a Nazi cult The Wolf House, the 'gekimation' works of Ujicha, the gorgeous one-man adaptation of Suehiro Maruo's ero-guro manga Shoujo Tsubaki, and of course Phil Tippett's 30-year magnum opus Mad God. There's a reason I look forward to Halloween each year.
Animation is a tricky fit for horror stories, particularly traditional animation. The stylised and clearly artificial presentation intrinsic to animation can be distancing and make it hard to make things genuinely scary - so if anything, a lot of horror creators benefit from a deliberately low-fi style, which avoids being too obvious with displays of technique. But animation of all kinds loves horror images and themes, from gory OVAs of the 80s full of rapacious demons, to what you could call 'spoopy' works like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hotel Transylvania and Paranorman which play around with all the Halloween/Hammer Horror imagery - the Draculas and Frankensteins and so on.
So what's the recipe tonight?
Well, for our vampire anime, we have now worked through the obvious ones, so it's on to... the Darkstalkers OVA from 1997-8, adapting Capcom's series of fighting games. Though in Japan it's called ヴァンパイアハンター THE ANIMATED SERIES (Vampire Hunter: The Animated Series).
Fittingly for a late-90s OVA, this is full of crazy sick animation, notably including a number of cuts by Yoshinori Kanada. The story is basically: two vampire clans are having a war, but then aliens show up. Somehow that leads to battling atop exploding zeppelins. I'm curious.
For our Western Animation slot we have something by Genndy Tartakovsky (Animation Night 35). While Tartakovsky is best known for his 2D animation and hyper-simplified graphical style, he's also directed Hotel Transylvania in 3D. I was rather dismissive of this one at a glance apparently, but I've been told it's good and I mean, it's Tartakovsky right? I'm definitely curious to see how his style crosses dimensions.
Hotel Translyvania was created at Sony Pictures Animation, the studio that would later blow everyones' minds with Spiderverse. Their history is this: Sony, the international media and tech giant, had a visual effects studio called Sony Pictures Imageworks. They were considering selling it, but then came the wave of CG films beginning with Shrek, and suddenly the smell of money was in the air. So Imageworks was retooled into a studio for making feature-length CG movies. Their early films were pretty formulaic, but they gradually began to get more ambitious.
Hotel Transylvania, which depicts a hotel for monsters run by Dracula, has had a rough history, with Tartakovsky actually the sixth director to take on the project. His goal was to try and take the vibe of 2D animation, with its squash and stretch and variable timing, and bring it to 3D - a concept that was perhaps ahead of its time! How did he manage? Let's find out.
For our Yamishibai slot we have Yamishibai.
...ok, for those just joining us this I should probably explain. It's kind of like creepypastas for weebs. Yamishibai is a series of limited-animation shorts in the style of kamishibai paper theatre, telling short horror stories. In the first half of the 20th century, kamishibai performers would go around telling stories with illustrated panels, and the form was influential on the early days of manga. They're usually a blast so we'll definitely see a few of these.
...and, given the late start that will probably be all we have time for, but if we're in the mood, I can pull out a couple shorter animated horror works. Next week, we'll follow it up with Alberto Vasquez, revisiting Birdboy and also checking out Unicorn Wars.
Sound fun? See you at twitch.tv/canmom; we will start the spooky playlist soooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnn...

Hi- sorry, was forced to use my main bc for some reason Tumblr doesn't let me ask with my side account for rwd-
Who's who in your Utena au?
*fLAILING!!!* (also yea I think that's like. An intentional thing Tumblr does, not entirely sure why.)
Okay so we of course know Dani = Utena, VR-LA = Anthy. Starting with my strongest choices then going on in no particular order:
Roy is our Wakaba. He has to be. Roy fucking tackling Dani nearly sending both of them tumbling into the courtyard?? Dani initially joining in on the duels over his honor not knowing what the fuck she's truly getting herself into??? Roy being jealous over how much time she spends with VR-LA now???? The Black Rose Arc??????? It's so good It's So Good!!!
For my next strongest choice: MR-SN as Dios. Obviously. If I'm fucking with the theming to be less about gender roles and more about class/caste roles (as is the case when I've changed the 'because you're a girl' line into 'because you are nothing') then of course MR-SN needs to be the image of The Perfect Self-Made Captain In Charge.
However: the situation with Dios vs Akio is weird. Because everyone from Akio and Dios themselves to the visual language the show uses present the two of them as two completely separate people, and Anthy and her brother are clearly not mortal humans. Anthy has been suffering constantly for long enough that the event that started this and the folk tale version of the event passed down culturally bear next to no resemblance to one another. So we could frame it as Dios and Akio being different aspects of the same conceptual being. Dios died in the same way Pan greek god of the wild died. He's dead because people say he is, but he can never be gone forever. In Dios's case, he has been replaced by a version of himself that 'grew up' and 'lost his nobility'. He's still Anthy's older brother, but he is not Dios.
We're gonna make the call that they're to be represented by different characters and have DX-TR be Akio, mainly for his connection to VR-LA and the fact that he canonically killed Dani once.
Emi is Chu-Chu. Enough said. No notes.
I'm choosing a Nanami next because she's my favorite. Davion is our Nanami. Because think about it: Nanami is introduced lashing out at Anthy because Anthy is valued and coveted by the world and has the attention and (as far as Nanami can tell) affection of her older brother who Nanami sees as her whole world. It's infuriatingly unfair to her that Anthy would be (from Nanami's point of view) constantly rewarded with adoration and protection for what Nanami intuitively clocks as an act. Even if it's a 'there's no way, she's too good to be true' kind of impulse, she is right! Anthy performs this perfect feminine damsel image that everyone defines her by, and Nanami cannot fucking stand that seemingly everyone values Anthy over Nanami for ~performing well~. Anthy gets everything just for being fake and that's just not fair! What kind of vampiric freak does that on purpose??
If we are changing the themes to be about class roles and meritocracy instead of gender roles, of course Davion would make an excellent Nanami, because VR-LA himself says 'Competence is not a good look on you, Davion' in canon and he just fuckin' takes it. But what if he had reason to Fucking Hate VR-LA For It? Think of the drama: Davion calling VR-LA captain as a dig because they both know that's not his real station and VR-LA smiling back at him in that unsettling way Anthy smiles at Nanami. Davion realizing Dani is special for some ephemeral reason he doesn't understand despite knowing for a fact she's lower on the totem pole that him and VR-LA, and he shouldn't be bothered by the things she says and does But He Is! Davion being constantly suspicious of both of them yet constantly hovering around them trying to understand.
Another fun casting: Cassimere as Sayoji. Top notch I'd say. Do I even need to explain this one? The exchange diary scenes alone would be fucking hysterical, and the scene of Anthy fully dropping the way she used to speak to Sayonji but with VR-LA and Cassimere? Perfection.
If Cassimere is Sayonji, I would then posit K-LB as Touga and I know that's horribly cursed and their personalities aren't even a little similar, but like think about it: K-LB and Dani interacting with the leadership and ownership they're aiming for in wildly different ways the same way Touga and Utena interact with the idea of masculinity and princeliness in ways that cause them to clash yet that they both almost understand one another over. K-LB being close to DX-TR because DX-TR has promised him the way to view 'something eternal'. K-LB winning VR-LA and chatting with him all chipper-like asking him some of the same questions he's seen Dani ask him and getting different answers. K-LB trying one last time to make some kind of executive decision over Dani and VR-LA at the end, begging them not to listen to End of the World and Dani Just Not Trusting Him. I love it. Tastey drama.
I'm making Elyse, Love and Finbar my Shiori, Ruka, and Juri respectively. This feels really mean to Specifically Elyse but also the three of them would be So Fucking Good for this??? I promise, I promise it's a good idea. I'm so sorry Elyse.
Kyana and Ione as Miki and Kozue? The fuckin' Tastey Drama??? Codependency my (fictional) beloved!! The duels with Miki and Utena, but with Kyana and Dani CAN YOU IMAGINE?
Oh god. I Completely On Accident made it so the badminton scene would be happening between the 3 non-VR-LA members of the og crew absjdhskzbazoxbxg
#rolling with difficulty#asks#dani rwd#kyana rwd#finbar rwd#vr-la rwd#revolutionary with difficulty#rwd au#i love this I love this I love this#words from the jam jar

Random thought:
I always find the characters that I relate to the most , I absolutely hate in the beginning. what character would you say out of ANY media do you resort to the most, and also what character do u relate to with the Iliad/tsoa characters?
It's so interesting that you hate the characters you relate to at first! I don't think I've ever had that happen to me... mainly because I'm not sure I approach media or characters this way? Like I'll often watch something and feel drawn to a character, because they seem cool or cute or I find them sympathetic in some way. But I'm not sure how it has to do with me, like idk that I relate to them because they're "like me" if that makes sense? More often than not, when I watch or play or read something it's for escapist reasons and I don't want to think about me or my life at all lmao. I've heard other people say for instance "oh I love/hate this character because they look like me/they're just like me for real" but I don't think this has ever crossed my mind, even once. I think part of that might be some kind of generalised gender/identity dysphoria, like I can't "see" or project myself onto a male or female or nb character because they feel so foreign and irrelevant to me in almost every way. So most of the time I'm happy to watch/read/play along without considering myself as part of the equation at all lol.
But even though I'm kind of resistant to the idea of relating to fictional characters or situations, I think I'd be lying if I said I don't find certain character traits or archetypes personally relatable. I'm usually drawn to characters that are loners in some way for example, like I've always had a soft spot for the black sheep who never seem to fit in and are sort of misunderstood, so that must be quite personal bc I've often felt like that in many situations in my life lol. One of my favourite characters, Hei from Darker Than Black for instance, is constantly presented throughout the series as being cold, unfeeling, uncaring, not wanting to relate to other people and being very closed off and ruthless, but as the story progresses we find out that he does in fact feel things very deeply and cares about others and has his reasons for being distant, and through the course of the story slowly learns to let others in (even if he trips and falls and regresses a lot of the time). This is definitely a stereotype I'm almost always drawn to lolol, something that I think is also prominent with another favourite character of mine, Alucard(Castlevania), this whole "cold exterior with a heart of gold", and also being different from the people around him and not really fitting in with either humans or vampires, save for the people who actually get to know him and manage to crack that shell. Ash Lynx(Banana Fish) is also another favourite that fits this stereotype I think, and I'm also consistently drawn to characters that have been changed in big and small ways by some kind of traumatic experience, their entire demeanour and attitude and approach to life. It's just something that's fascinating to me, both for personal reasons but also just generally, I find it interesting.
As for iliad/tsoa characters, I relate to iliad achilles for a lot of the aforementioned reasons: he's dark and broody for a lot of the iliad, very distant and closed off, but then as we follow him through his anger and his grief and sadness we just see this incredible depth of feeling and moments of tenderness and vulnerability that I think are very compelling. The fact that he is often dismissed as just a hothead and a war criminal or whatever without taking into account any of his other traits I think plays well into that theme of me relating to characters that are misunderstood 😅
I also really love TSOA Patroclus, I just have such a soft spot for him. I adore how sad and contemplative he is, and the fact that he's such an unreliable narrator is so endearing to me. I love his characterisation as this sort of quiet and gentle yet troubled individual who tends to put others first, that is still genuinely kind despite the bad stuff that's happened to him and wants to do good. Also his blind and total adoration of Achilles is just *chef's kiss*. I'm not totally sure how I relate to Patroclus tbh, it's something I've wondered about bc I'm not like that as a person at all, yet he's still one of my fave characters ever and my favorite hands down to write. So make of that what you will haha.
Thank you so much for this ask!!
#hi welcome to me trying to psychoanalyse myself through fictional characters#jk i hate doing that lol#it's a slippery slope#like don't look too much into it#oh shit am i actually bbb patroclus 😭😭 no serious self-reflection ever only depression and dilly dallying#correction: welcome to me having unsettling realisations about myself through an anon ask

What would be your favorite queer horror media?
Oh Boy So i think this question is just asking what type of media i enjoy and to answer that I will say Movies, though i'll admit it is hard for me to sit down and consume any kind of media, i have to be in a right mindset for it.
HOWEVER since we are here, I also think its asking what my FAVORITE thing is, and honestly I want to answer this one with a huge wonderful list of amazing things for you to consume, i feel like there could be and should be so much more, which..i guess with Mil-Liminal is kinda what im trying to do, but lets get into some things that might fall under the genre that i enjoy.
Of course the Welcome to Nightvale podcast, was probably my first big experience with queer media in the spooky or weird genre, and also one of the first i experienced with wholesome queer rep instead of just bury your gays tropes all over the place.
Wildelife, Lies Within and Black Water (right here on tumblr) all have queer rep and are comics i personally enjoy!
Heres some movies i think could fit the question, I'm picking my personal faves, and trying to pick some that might not be AS well known as any old rotten tomatoes list ya know?
first off, She Creature, which is pretty old, but who doesn't like scary mermaids and wlw relationships? its a strange movie and i haven't watched it in ages but worth a visit for a fun spooky perspective.
There might be some who will fight me on this, but Let The Right One In. I understand as a nonbinary person that there are themes that are problematic in the film, but i also understand this was one of the first time i saw someone just a little bit like me on screen in a horror film. so im counting it. (also i should clarify that i mean the 2008 version, not the American remake.)
The Hunger. Listen, its got Bowie in it as a vampire. 'nuff said.
All Cheerleaders must Die. Its just fun ok? I love camp and i love gay camp.
Im going to add ParaNorman because it is SUCH a good movie, and its almost the only time ive seen a cartoon go there without making it a bad joke.
the Fear Street trilogy is fun. fight me.
Bride of Frankenstein(1939)! The Haunting(1963)! Fright Night(1985)!
And finally, ok so I personally am not a big reader, but i consulted one of my best pals who is a librarian (as well as the editor for Seemingly Dark and Mil-Liminal!) @lesbrarians, and here is what they had to say!
'The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling (sci-fi horror)
The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay (afaik Tremblay isn't queer himself, but I still love his stuff and this one was great) White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi (gothic horror, v much in the vein of Shirley Jackson)
Sodom Road Exit by Amber Dawn (supernatural thriller plus family drama)
The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass (obvs every one of these has some kind of tw attached to it bc cmon, it's horror, but massive tw here for school shootings, it's heavy af and you gotta be in the right frame of mind for it obvs, but it's fantastic)
Alice Isn't Dead by Joseph Fink (set in the world of WtNV!)
Wilder Girls by Rory Powers (body horror galore)
The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez (bisexual vampires)
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (mermaids but make it horror)
Honorary mentions to Jawbone by Monica Ojeda and Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo (only because I haven't read them yet haha, they sound dope) Oh, and Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand, haven't read it yet myself either but I've heard nothing but good things! CARMEN MARIA MACHADO Her Body and Other Parties! The Lamb Will Slaughter the Lion and The Barrow Will Send What May by Margaret Killjoy -- trans punk anarchists facing down demons!' -quoted from discord lmao
ANNNND there you have it. You probably werent expecting all that but horror IS my thing after all, and i thought it would be fun to give a in depth fully fledged reply. Now tell me Readers, Listeners and Watchers, do you have any recs for me?
-Caro

What is your favorite book and why?
So it's impossible to chose just one so the best I can offer is a list.
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath - I need to reread this one soon but it's just one of those books that made me feel seen at an early age.
In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado - same with this one the experiences CMM describes are familiar but also just I feel like I would like CMM personally, like we could be friends. She can make you laugh and cry and experience every emotion.
The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende - this one is a family saga but the end of the book is this super shitty conservative grandfather becoming a better person bc of his daughter and granddaughter and just 😢 I also just adore magical realism I saw a lot of ppl recommending this book after Encanto came out and I'm not sure that movie actually counts as magical realism and yes this book for adults is gonna have a lot darker content than a children's book but if you are interested in the genre I highly recommend this one.
The Color Purple by Alice Walker - another book about finding happiness in the face of adversity (oh boy I'm noticing a theme). It was one of the first books with sapphic content that I read (in 7th or 8th grade if I remember I thought it was a lot more explicit than it was upon rereading as an adult) and it gave me ~feelings~ which I proceeded to spend a very long time pushing down
Wuthering Height by Emily Brontë - I love gothic atmosphere and fiction and I think this was one of the first ones I REALLY liked. I read Jane Eyre in middle school but I didn't appreciate it then, my take away had been that Jane was a Mary Sue (😂😭, I loved it when I reread it this year). It's got some of the most amazing romantic lines but from the world's worst ppl. Like this family just destroys each other bc they have nothing better to do I guess. But for real I love stories about the perpetuation of cycles of abuse and taking the stand to finally end it
And of course:
Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice - I feel like just making this list alone has made me realize my favorite books say more about me than any therapy intake every could 😂😭 but yeah IWTV has a lot of the same themes of the above books: depression, free will, and choosing whether or not to break a cycle.
#another thing that is like therapist's office realization is I distinctly remembed everytime I ran into gays in books as a kid#i had a gay couple as neighbors who were really nice to me and I actually remember asking my mom if they were married when I was like 5#and her waffling before saying yes#but I remember reading the myth lf apollo and hyacinth on the floor of my bedroom and thinking 'just like my neighbors'#i remember when nico came out in the pjo books#and the color purple oc#vc#asks

You know, I know you are a great writer. I mean you wrote TML which I adore so much. And then Umbra please it’s so amazing💕 (I will scream in a separate ask about it in the future) but yesterday I read saudade after I saw that you are currently writing it and I couldn’t stop. I had to finish it late at night. And let me tell those are the best fics. I was so into this world. It’s so intriguing, so special, so well written. I am so in love💖
These two captured my heart. I mean it aches just to think about their tragic lovestory. I don’t know if it can get more sad then this. I am a sucker for it but please how much sadness can they bear. After every lightly fluffy moment, a wave of sadness washes over me. And I felt, I felt it in my bones. It tells a lot about your writing. I love your world building. The fusion between fantasy and non fantasy was excellent. A lot of times I was overwhelmed by the turns this story took. I love how I didn’t know what to expect when I started. And I love how you pulled the strings.
And of course I love the characters. They are the cherry on top. I can’t emphasize enough how glorious they are. They are so special. Not comparable to other ones I read about. A more special pair then them, hard to find if you ask me. They just match. In their sadness, in their stubbornness, in their willingness to help others even if they are hurting so deeply. The way they don’t give up even if the world is against them. They haven’t lost the last spark of hope yet. And while being similar in many ways, they are still their own person. They have flaws, I love how you pictured characters who are real. Humans or vampires👀 but they remain flawed no matter what. Chaeyoung wasn’t afraid to call her a selfish bitch and it felt so good to see real interactions. And their backstories, I love that we got to see why they are who they are. It’s great that we got the whole picture (I am so curious if we get two perspectives on the last chapter). And of course Chaeyoung, please she is such a cutie. She and Lisa are such an adorable pair.
It’s so worth it. I have no idea how it continues but I know that you will do an amazing job, no matter what. I just hope they have their happy ending. I don’t know how much I can bear. And take all the time you need to finish this masterpiece. It will be hard to say goodbye but I need to know what is still in store for them. Imam so excited. As previously mentioned I loved it so much. Thank you so much for spending so much time on it. The effort you put into it is seen, even if I can only imagine how much work it actually is. So if nobody told you this today. You are doing amazing. I hope you have a great week. Lots of love from me❤️🔥 Take care
🎀 (I don’t know if you remember me, it’s been an eternity tbh but I am still here and I still love giving long reviews about your amazing stories)
THIS TYPE OF REVIEW GETS ME SO HAPPY THAT I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO REPLY 😭😭😭😭😭😭
yes i remember you!!!!!!! glad to see you here again!!! so happy that you liked saudade too 😭😭 yes i'm working HARDDD to make a good ending for this series and i'm already excited to know your reactions about it!!!
yeah you made a good question - how much sadness can they bear? this is basically the main theme for the last part. can they bear more pain? can they stay away from each other? HOW can they be together considering everything seems to be against them? bro i want to answer these questions so bad 😭 i already spent too much damn time in character developing now it's time for RESOLUTIONS
i'm so happy that you mentioned chaeyoung bc she's like my fav character in this fic 🥺 she's the friend anyone would want to have! she'll be by your side when you need her, but she'll also call you out on your bullshit when you deserve it 😌 i really wanted the characters to feel flawed and real and i appreciate that you noticed it! adding flaws to characters is one of the most fun parts about writing (up there with world building imo) - flaws that make sense for them. i'll dive deeper into this aspect next chapter, but tae DEFINITELY has a controlling/possessive problem, because during his human life, everything was out of his control. he'll have to learn that he CAN'T control everything and that he MUST trust others sometimes. also oc still is a bit spoiled and selfish, and she'll also have to overcome these issues 😗
i don't want to spoil much more but uhhh i'm so excited to finish the last part already 😭😭 thank you so much for your review, it definitely motivated me to keep writing!!! tysm for reading & i hope you have a great week too 💗💗💗
