IKR LIKE WTF i actually tried making a stan acc in twt just to see the fun of it but spoiler alert, it was all sht lmao. idk if i joined at the wrong time or what but my home page was full of hate from other fandoms directed to skz and hate from stays to other grps im also a fan of 👁💧👄💧👁 i didnt take the fcking toxicity lightly so just straight up deactivated not more than 5 hrs later. bruh had to make a new acc just to follow the GROUPS solely bc i still need to get updated on their content 😌👌 in short most (not generalizing) twt users make a big deal out of everything lmao its actly a bit funny kinda stupid ngl.
LMAOOOO i totally get what u mean. my current account was meant to just be following musicians and maybe a couple stans and now ……… 🤢
check under the cut for a rant nobody asked for that prob doesn’t make sense bc it’s 12 in the morning:
obviously no hate or shame to any twitter users/stay twt users. it’s really nobody’s fault. we can never be too sure how it started or who it started with but the fandom communities on twitter simply have a completely different mindset than other platforms. and i think a big part of it is bc everyone wants to fit in in a way? having ‘hit tweets’ and lots of mutuals and a super aesthetic layout while also working your ass off to help artists succeed, etc. it’s a lot of work just to kind of feel like a genuine part of the fandom. and of course some of the most successful tweets are the ones that are sarcastic, cynical, taking digs at other artists, or even at fans. so people just .. conform to that mindset.
another obvious point to make: every social media site is like that to some capacity. there are certain things about bigger/more ‘professional’ tumblr blogs that users often feel like they need to emulate in order to be taken seriously as a blog & have lots of friends. we all know it. but there’s an obvious difference between celebrating the artists (tumblr) vs. supporting & defending the artists (twt) and it’s sometimes hard to tell which one (if any) is better for the artist and for the fan.
WHY DID I WRITE SO MUCH I COMPLETELY FORGOT THIS WAS A REPLY TO A LIGHT & FUNNY ASK IM SO SORRY- here have a meme (from twitter, actually)
