In retrospect i find it extremely telling that the work of writing i put the most time and effort into was about someone becoming non-human but still retaining their human mind, and how their friends came to accept what was happening and support said someone. You'd imagine that I'd write a story about a guy becoming a girl as the base premise but the character in question was already a trans girl, that's not what my teen self wanted to write about. Nya wanted to write about a self-insert becoming a Sylveon and still have friends who cared about her and accepted her choice to do so.
The prevailing power fantasy for fiction made by trans women is that the trans woman is happy and accepted? That makes complete sense. So when my prevailing power fantasy across not just this one fic but several other stories i have written is that the human turned non-human is happy and still treated as a peer and with humanity, and is also accepted... It seems so obvious in retrospect that i wasn't just transgender but some other thing
