There was this post I saw a while back about Stanley Pines and drawing - and how it would be really cool if he was good at technical art, and the art we see him make is a heavily stylized cartoonish style based on his own childhood work, that its an artistic choice. and it was a really, really good idea! I love Stanley getting to keep this hobby for himself throughout his life of hiding and changing who he is, letting that little kid develop and grow in while the world moves on without him.

But while I was reading it, i couldn't help but think about how cool it would be if... after Weirdmaggedon and after Stan Pines becomes Stanley Pines again, for the first time since he was seventeen years old or even younger, Stanley Pines picks up a pencil again. He hadn't done this for the sake of doing it in many, many years. Not the way he did as a kid. The kid that drew, that smiled without pain, that daydreamed for the sake of it. That kid had been buried under forty years of hardship, buried and left behind.

But when he pried up the pain, dug through the memories and found that kid again, that kid who got to be with his brother every day without any notion of a life otherwise, he was still alive.

Barely.

But still there.

He picked up the pencil, and drew.

And it wasn't anything special. It could hardly be constituted as good, even. But it was his in a way nothing had been in a long, long time.

Even his life's work was under the wrong name. He hadn't signed off his own art under his own name in over forty years.

And it was a rough, rough start. He wasn't proud of any of it, at first, except his brother never scoffed or told him digging up childhood mementos and dreams was foolish. His brother knew better. His brother told him he should do what he wants to do.

And so he does.

And yes, he gets better. He's old, maybe older than most people would think to start trying to draw again, but he's already done the improbable and the impossible a million times over. Hell, he lived to be old, to be with his brother again. He was never one to listen to what he should and shouldn't do

So Stanley Pines drew. And that little kid grew as his art grew, shaped by the pain it had to dig through to make it to the present, changed but alive.

And isn't that beautiful?

I've seen a lot of different takes on Fear Toxin/other fear causing stuff (Yellow Lanterns Ring or something)(later just called Fear Toxin cause I'm lazy) but here is another one.

Danny seems like he isn't affected by Fear Toxin because his biggest fear is that his accident changed him so much he is no longer human, he can no longer truly experience human things.

So when he gets lungful of fear Toxin, he feels normal. He was antsy before, because c'mon, it's a rogue attack but it's not worse. Or so he thought. Because the anxiety lingers. Not enough to register as abnormal just this slight hypervigilance that makes you see things about yourself and your surroundings that you'd never realize otherwise. He'd realize he doesn't blink as often. He'd realize that if he doesn't consciously focus, he sometimes seems to not touch the ground. Forgets to breathe. He can't feel his own pulse at time. He'd realize people will miss him when he's walking down the street as if he was invisible (people just don't care about everyone they pass by). When he'd look straight into his reflection, he'd look slightly to the left. Not enough to actually name anything that was wrong but just stretched enough to fall on the wrong side of the uncanny valley. If he just caught his reflection in the peripheral vision, it'd be vaguely shadowy creature with glowing green eyes and white smoke instead of hair. Overall he'd be just wrong enough to be distinctly not human.

For everyone else, he'd be just a dude. Literally couldn't find more normal dude than this dude. Will pass as absolutely normal human unless someone is specifically looking for ecto-ghost stuff. Even most magic users wouldn't clock him at the glance

Tldr: Fear Toxin makes Danny perceive himself as some sort of eldritch horror but not enough to make him believe he'd actually be affected, while from outside perspective he's Just A Dude™

Bird lovers 💜🐦

Despite Dellie's whole "Friendly" persona being all an act.. Surprisingly one of the few (if not, ONLY) things that make him genuinely soften up are birds! Since Coral Sea does not have creatures like them, Dellie quickly developed a soft spot for them since the day he stepped onto land and saw a pigeon for the first time.

After joining NRC, it didn't take long for people to find out about Dellie's love for birds. As he was seen befriending the wild birds from the courtyard, and even bringing a few to his dorm without anyone noticing. It was soon revealed Dellie was taking in injured birds back to his room in order to treat their wounds and help them recover, apparently he has a large bird cage, toys, and treats for his feathery friends. Even the books on his shelves are all about birds, (in a sense, Dellie with birds is like Jade with mushrooms.... except Dellie hasn't started his own bird fan club, yet)

Silver ended up befriending Dellie after he came up to him with a wounded bird he found in the greenhouse while knowing about the fact Dellie treats injured birds. Soon after, they started meeting up more often, Dellie updating him about the birds and Silver either bringing in other birds or bringing in treats for them (Tbh I don't think either of them have out loud referred to each others as friends, they're too focused on the birds)

Jamil only ended up with them because Kalim heard about Dellie and Silver bonding over birds, and so in his classic Kalim way he just shoved Jamil towards them like "Jamil also loves birds!! Parrots specifically". And so Dellie without any hesitation grabbed Jamil by the arm, dragged him to his room to show off the ones he's currently taken care, and of course talk about them with him and Silver. On a little sweeter note, after Dellie heard that Jamil loves parrots and would love to have one as a pet (specifically a red macaw), Dellie promised Jamil if he ever ends up taking care of a red macaw, he'd immediately call him over and let him help take care of it.

In conclusion if you ever want to experience what's the closest thing to an actual friendship would be like with Dellie, get a bird involved, and that's where you'll forget you're talking to a wolf in sheep's clothing with how soft he'll suddenly get when a feathery little thing is in his vicinity

cause if i understand correctly, the loop in each au is the same loop as in canon, theyre just shunted off into the next au until everyone has a turn.

hello! Your question is valid and your confusion is also valid! And you understand correctly, it IS canon Loop that helps all the roleswap Travelers one by one after helping Siffrin escape their timeloop I haven't officially figured out the order Loop helps the Travelers, but my current theory is: Loop helps Siffrin first (as you obviously point out :3) T!Odile is second T!Isabeau is third T!Mira is fourth T!Bonnie is last and final and then Loop has a "return to sender" moment when they crash into Siffrin's universe again and they exchange coins and also catch up! By that time Loop would've gotten SO MUCH character development it'd be fun to see what Siffrin thinks of them. But honestly??? Nothing is set in stone! I could change my mind, decide I want T!Bonnie to be the first one for Loop to help, or shove everything in a different order! And you guys are totally allowed to cook up your own Order of Events and Timeloops too! I'm not fussed at all on this matter :3 There are too many ideas and theories to not play with, y'know? It'd be a shame to shut those doors of possibility because of something little ol' me said!

Not sure if anyone has asked, but we've seen the secret Weird/Snowgrave route for Noelle in Chapter 2. So how do you imagine a potential Weird route for Toriel would go in Chapter 3?

I'm honestly of the mind right now that the weird route is exclusive to Noelle, so we won't be getting one with Toriel. I know people like to compare the weird route to the no mercy one in UT, but I think the two routes are filling pretty different niches. DR's weird route is more in line with an oldschool game creepypasta...something you're not supposed to be capable of doing, but if you do this series of weird tricks then you get a SUPER DUPER SECRET ultra dark ending!! And it's been established that that is absolutely up Noelle's alley...she's the one that secret-hunting and weird creepy game glitches seem to center around. She finds them even when she isn't intending to! Having the weird route be focused on what the player does with Noelle would make thematic sense, and probably help curb alternate routes from getting wildly out of control in a game that's much, MUCH bigger than UT.

Finished up a second ASOIAF book! I say "a second" because it's not "the second". I guess I shelved the series wrong the last time I read it and so I just blindly grabbed book 3 instead of 2

For this one, I decided to use green leather, because the original cover I had was green. I initially wanted to stick to the color scheme of the originals, but book 1 (for me) was gray, which I knew wouldn't look good with the silver, so I did black. Books 2 & 5 will pose similar issues, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it

anyway, once again, I am so pleased with how this turned out!

Random thoughts but

imagine Boothill going to the Luofu and meeting Jing Yuan and by extension Yanqing and it's like "Wow! You guys are motherfudging cool!"

But it occurs to him how young Yanqing is and he can't help but think that maybe his daughter could have grown and made friends with him. It's somewhat concerning that this little guy is in the constant face of danger. Boothill gets it, the kid's strong, but the dad in him worries just a bit.

Then maybe Boothill and Jing Yuan talk while eating (well, Boothill chewing on a bullet probably), and he brings it up casually, smoothly but the General knows what he's trying to get at.

Jing Yuan talks about how he's also feels worry, that he had thought about what it meant to raise Yanqing as a son, retainer, and a soldier. It takes some moments but Boothill finally openly talks about his daughter and how he wishes that he got to see beyond her first steps. That she could have had the chance to play guitar or ride horses or even learn to drive a spaceship. He feels afraid for Yanqing because isn't that boy still so small?

And Jing Yuan agrees with a thin, close-eyed smile that Boothill recognizes but can't put a name to. They reach a mutual understanding yet unanswered questions hang in the air.
