I’ve gotten into EPIC: The Musical lately and an idea came to me that really wanted to draw. Problem is I haven’t drawn anything in years so I decided to do a sketch dump to gauge my skills/do character studies. i think its interesting that throughout all of ep 6 we can see stede and ed like sharing a connection but they are taking it slow. they are just having small moments together where they are together and enjoying each others company.

then of course Ned Low shows up and ruins everything by capturing and torturing the crew and he says many things to rile up both stede and ed who still havent like fully reformed their relationship and trust for eachother and it probably alights all their insecurities about their relationship plus they had to watch each other get tortured and almost die and after he chooses to kill ned stede is obviously shaken up both from killing a man and all of the shit he just went through and hes vulnerable and scared and lightly traumatized probably and ed goes to check on him and stede is just is a horrible headspace and he falls back on his old ways and acts on a whim by grabbing ed and pushing him up against the wall

and ed didnt have any better of a night than stede did, getting tortured and watching your lover get tortured fucking sucks and hes just as in a horrible headspace as stede and so he also acts on a whim and lets stede escalate and they kiss and then they have sex

and everything seems great between them the next morning but suddenly ed is throwing away his leathers—okay pretty sudden but maybe he was already planning to—and then ed is sharing how stede was kinda the one who saved his life when he almost died—okay kinda intense conversation over breakfast but maybe he was already planning on telling him and decided it was a good opportunity—and then later stede shares how he wrote ed letters expressing his love and threw them into the sea—and okay maybe they just felt like really sharing this morning—and then later at jackies ed is telling jackie about how it might not be a phase that he just wants to be a regular guy—and wow okay thats cool maybe hes just been thinking about it for a while—and then stede lights a man on fire who wants to kill him—and woah stede um kinda harsh you didnt even hear the man out—and then stede and ed meet up and stede got his ear pierced—thats cool unplanned but cool—and then ed tells stede that he took a job as a fisherman and is leaving—

and then suddenly you realize theyve fallen back into their old patterns of acting on whims again

suddenly they aren't taking things slow, suddenly they are sharing intimate things with each other with 0 apprehension

they are right back where they were in season 1 right down to ed wanting to get away from pirating like his life depends on it and stede wanting nothing more but to be a pirate and live out his fantasy

and this time they fight and ed outright says that things are going too fast and part of it is that he just wants to leave and he is scared but he feels like this because yeah

they are taking it too fast

they suddenly—on a whim—decided to deepen their relationship way faster than they should have entirely on accident just by—on a whim—deciding to have sex when they were both in a vulnerable state and needed comfort

i really dont think it was an accident that episode 4 decided to spell out for us that Ed and Stede are whim prone people. it wasnt just an explanation for why last season ended the way it did with them splitting up. it was an omen for what was eventually going to happen with them in these episodes. the inevitability that they were eventually going to succumb to their true natures if not given the proper space and time to work out the shit between them, if insecurities and expectations got piled onto them again.

popping back in on tumblr to say that you guys should so watch this short film ... :3 its mostly in tagalog but if anyones interested in watching it i can make a (loosely made) english translation of most of the lines in this

just a bit of a warning though it gets a bit sad towards the end but overall the film is really good!! its a romantic comedy drama (emphasis on the romantic and drama /j) which focuses on friendships and self discovery,, i definitely recommend watching this if you enjoy stories with lgbt themes ^_< (wink wink higuys :333c) (but seriously if anyone who doesnt understand tagalog wants to watch this i will INSTANTLY make a rough english translation of this... please... i need more people to know about this film....)

GIGIS WORLD AU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AUGH

AAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH its not even fully done yet i still have like 4 other characters to make but honestly i might scrap or put this project on hiatus i have no motivation to work on it anymore sobs

i will give you guys the ideas i had for the characters i didnt end up making though, and the idea i had for the toon handlers.

Flutter - Gardener, works in the garden and grows/collects seasonings for the kitchen and decoration for the casino customers/staff

R&D - Casino Hosts, working directly with customers to make sure they want to return to the casino and ensuring they have a good experience.

Looey - A comedian/magician on the stage in the disco, a solo preformer. Magician by day and comedian during after hours

Pebble - A security dog working within every part of the casino, with his loud bark he can alert other security of unwanted guests, and using his sharp teeth he can hold them down long enough to deal with them.

Cosmo - A chef in the kitchen, working along with shrimpo. He specializes in pastries, but can also cook other, more healthy foods if needed.

ok thats about it for the toons i didnt end up getting to design. ill ramble more about the actual lore here if anyone cares about that LOL. keep in mind i got like almost nowhere with this so its very VERY vauge and unfinished also im not a good writer whoops

' the basic idea is that the casino had been running fine up untill they had faced a lawsuit, causing them to shut down everything and abandon the casino. Since the toons had been made specifically for the casino they had just been left in there to handle themselves. Eventually, one of the toons had grown curious and decided to tear down one of the machines. After ripping open the back of the machine, black ooze leaked out and covered the bottom of their feet. Not thinking much of it and assuming it was just oil of some kind, they continued, getting the liquid all over their hands and face, along with their legs. After tearing open the machine, they had found little to nothing of interest and left to get themselves cleaned up. However, when they tried to wipe the goo off, it wouldnt budge and instead had covered more of their body. After a short while, they began to feel hollow on the inside and an ache in their bones, what happened afterwards had become contagious and slowly began to infect the whole casino. '

TOON HANDLERS!! they have a whole new purpose here. They work mostly as managers for the toons, each handler has their own line of work and toons to keep track of and train, only 4 have designs tho lol. IGNORE the reindeer names i couldnt think of anything else ok

Harvey - the bartender, he works with Rodger, Dandy and Sprout. often exhausted, but not rude by any means. mostly quiet and closed off

Prancer - the director, works with Glisten, Poppy, Boxten, Shelly and Looey. a jumpy cheery fella, mostly looking to have fun and trying to be as positive as she can be. bigender monarch

Doner - the (old) director/beauty worker, used to work with Glisten, Poppy, Boxten, Shelly and Teagan, but had been fired after a long time working there due to extreme mistreatment of his toons. although he was closed off, he never seemed to be too angry or aggressive towards other handlers, but when a toon would mess up or act out he would become ruthless without the other handlers knowledge.

Rudolf - the chef, works with Shrimpo, Cosmo and Flutter. a happy and cocky chef who tries his best to make his job entertaining and teaches his toons in more extreme fun ways.

there SHOULDVE been way more but as i said before i dont have motivation to work on this anymore lmao. also glisten canonically has BPD in this my #bpdwarrior

Wynncraft is probably one of my favorite servers to play on!

I did have the interesting experience of logging back on a couple days ago for the first time in a while (it was definitely over a year, potentially close to 2? when I had logged on last) and not having access to any of my spells (my main character is a mage) while I was in the middle of some area with a bunch of enemies XD

I didn’t have access to my spells because the last time I had logged on was before the ability tree update XD (I still have no idea what I was doing in that hole/cave place with all of those enemies. It might have been quest related? Who knows XD)

I have just realized that I’m going to have to go through the ability tree for all of my other characters in the Wynncraft server…. Atleast none of them are as leveled as my mage is XD (I’m pretty sure that I have one of every free class made)

I just got jumpscared by a mob called Corrupted Grian on the Wynncraft minecraft server. I wasn't able to get a screenshot b/c I didn't register the name until after I had killed the mob. I've been standing in the area hoping to get another one to spawn, but no luck. So I went to the wiki XD (there was another one called "Corrupted Jumla" but I didn't recognize their name)

It would also explain why I sorta recognized the name Grian, b/c I've been off and on playing Wynncraft for about 3 years now

I didn't know you played Wynncraft! That's so cool!! And Grian's old Link skin is actually wild to see

I think I first heard of Wynncraft from one of his Hermitcraft Season 6 or Season 7 episodes funny enough

A/N: EEEEK for some reason I’m beyond nervous to post this. I know I did NOT need another wip but I had such a huge itch to finally get started on this idk what possessed me! ▌ Esteri is most likely my worst oc I have ever given life to. I do not say that in a "Haha yeah she is baaad and evil, but she really is not that evil" because she is. She is a narcissistic, egoistical, rude figure who has no redeeming qualities. Esteri is an embracing Durge, one of the few things she respects and looks up to is her father. Bhaal. As the daughter of the god of murder, she thinks very highly of herself. Basically everyone is beneath her. Overall, she perfected the art of the resting-bitch-face, acting indifferent to everything she encounters. YUCK! Showing emotions is not something you come across often with her. Sure, she can get prickly and spicy but will never freely display joy, sadness, and the likes. Esteri is rather good at keeping the urges to herself (you write that down now, for later). To her, those are gifts from her father. She is meant to do great things, and the lady is a perfectionist through and through.

Appearance

▌ That girl stands at a whooping 5'11" (ca. 180 cm for my non-American fellas) without heels. But she does wear heels because what's more intimidating than a tall lady with eyes like daggers? An even taller one. She really does wear them to everything, her back must hurt badly. Esteri has albinism. She does not enjoy the sun ; which is why she prefers to cover herself up at day. After the whole nautiloid abduction, she also has a massive autopsy scar on her front side.

Before the Tadpole

▌ Rich lady at day, assassin at night. Her adoptive father's influences (mostly his name only) have secured her a spot in the higher leagues. She is a sculptress, can paint pretty well and is able to play the violin and piano. Her main income is from blood. Esteri is a gifted cold-sorceress and can handle a dagger like a paintbrush. It's easy money, a no-brainer ; plus it eases her thirst for blood. She hates a crowd, though. Her killings are rarely on the streets. Either she takes a person home after playing the lady part, chopping them up in her little Bhaal dungeon and calling it art, or she kidnaps someone straight away. That's her entertainment. Emotions of others, screams, cries, pleas - it's what she really wants to see. Esteri will go her way and torture her victims for days if they sound pleasant enough for her, before she will shape their bones and flesh into something unrecognizable.

" And what about Gortash? " I hear you ask, " Where is his part? "

▌ The lordling and Esteri get a separate post. They deserve it, trust me. I have the thumbs up from my beautiful friend, who is basically responsible for their ship. All the hcs about him are from her. She has such a wonderful understanding for his character, it would not do it justice to just call the Gortash for Esteri's story 'just Gortash in general'. I will tag her in the meta post about the Absolute part of my ramblings here.

Hi yago! I read your tags! And I just wanted to take a moment to say: it is good that you're drawing things you both like and don't like! I know it's a bit discouraging, especially when you want to make weirder or more cartoony things, but part of building your art style is finding out what you dislike, just as much as finding out what you do like.

I love seeing your experiments. I love seeing how other artists think, and grapple with shapes and expressions and points of view. I realized recently I don't sketch very often? I don't draw a lot just for the sake of playing around. I normally draw as a means to a larger piece, and watching your sketches always makes me want to try to sketch more often myself.

Goodness, this turned into a ramble. Whoops.

In short: I'm sorry you're struggling with your art style! But I love seeing your thoughts, and I think your thoughts are stepping stones to something greater. I hope you continue having fun experimenting, and playing around with your art.

and i very much agree with everything you said. it's not a bad thing if you like some drawings less than the other, every one of them still helps to move you forward in way. even though it sucks when a drawing is not as cool as you hoped it would be x) we learn from our mistakes and stuff! not that a bad drawing is a mistake, but you know what i mean. every experience is a learning opportunity! sometimes it just takes a bit of time to realize that you're moving in a different direction. and it takes time to change course as well.

i dont think it's bad that im drawing things more "realistically" or at least with more uhm, normal proportions idk. generally it's a norm for artists to have many different styles they can switch between, and both realistic and cartoony styles are part of me and my skill pool. i just sometimes forget that i can do more than one thing and get hang up on stuff, and it feels like im trapped in one style even though I really am not.

about the sketches actually! yknow i noticed some time ago that i developed a habit of coloring every sketch i do? and it's not a bad thing, but it's certainly odd, and it used to upset me if i couldn't color something, it felt unfinished and not good enough. and I've been slowly trying to break out of this habit and sketch more and try to... loosen up? i guess? maybe to lower my standards or expectations for myself, something like that. it's very hard still but i can say im definitely enjoying drawing a lot more right now!

and im really happy that my sketches make you want to sketch too, i definitely know the feeling of seeing a drawing and just wanting to draw something yourself, so its very flattering :3

we should hang out in magma or something like that some time, just to sketch together! ive seen a lot of artists organizing those but they're always in the middle of the night for me hdhjdhs

I wish someone more articulate than me would write something digging into the meat of what a team up of these crews would actually look like because

a) the teams approach their goals very differently (carefully crafted and timed plans with improv where needed for Leverage, outsmart it when we get there, research as we go, and hope for the best/use the magical door at worst for the Librarians)

and b) there’s no world in which Baird is anything but loudly protesting the whole time because she wouldn’t have reason to recognize Parker, Hardison, or the general reputation they have as individuals and as a crew. So if the only person she knows is Eliot than she’s not gonna want them anywhere near her people for any reason no matter what Ezekiel says about how cool/good they are at what they do.

But I also kinda think this is what would start them off to a path of mutual understanding if nothing else. Because Eliot would understand and respect where she’s coming from because he gets it. “Hitter” may imply a more aggressive/confrontational approach than “Guardian” but at the end of the day that’s what Eliot is. Their jobs are to protect their teams at all cost and they would recognize the importance of that in each other I think. I hadn’t ever considered their shared military backgrounds and how that might affect their interactions but I certainly will be now!!

After thoroughly sifting through both the Leverage and Librarians tags I’m excited to see someone acknowledge that —potential twin/family shenanigans aside— the most interesting point in a crossover of the two would be between Baird and Eliot!! Like she worked NATO counter-terrorism and he’s…..Eliot Spencer. There’s no way she wouldn’t know him and be immediately and understandably suspicious if they ever crossed paths!!

(I personally think the second most interesting crossover point would be seeing how Ezekiel reacts to meeting Parker)

Right? And it's clearly established that Eliot'd be able to know that Eve is a NATO officer pretty much on-sight, which'd make any confrontation between the two teams exceptionally interesting and there's no way miscommunication wouldn't ensue.

As for Eve's perspective on Eliot... yeah, he's Eliot Spencer. In terms of her government contacts around the army stuff he's covered in probably too much black tape for even her to go digging, but as you say, the interesting thing is not that they both worked counterterrorism at one point (just in different ways) the interesting thing is that... she worked counterterrorism, he's Eliot Spencer. You work in the field of violence, not knowing Eliot Spencer is like not knowing Rembrandt, as Bligh said - and if even a hint of Eliot's rep seeped through, it would be a hell of a lot more than suspicion she's greeting him with.

Even putting all that aside, though, I'd love to see how the two of them would both interact with their millitary pasts. They come at it from startlingly different angles - and it's never really dug into for Eve, but there are some fascinating thematic threads there re: protection being both their main roles on the team.

Everyone ignores the Eve and Eliot parallels because Eve isn't played by Christian Kane, but... c'mon, there's stuff here! I know some crossover fics already exist but I want more.

As for Ezekiel and Parker.... Parker is the best theif in the world and Ezekiel is a man who thinks he's the best theif in the world. Endless comedic potential at the very least and I'd LOVE to see the two of them team up for a heist. No way Ezekiel doesn't know who she is. She's the Parker.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your work! Didn’t expect to love a x reader where the tagged pairing isn’t endgame…but their unique star crossed messy was just mesmerizing. Do you already have ideas for future stuff? If you’re open to adopt plot bunnies, would love to see a spin off your Snow-forced relationship but with a “reader fell first; but Finnick fell harder” twist. Maybe she was originally from another district; admiring him from afar when they’d briefly cross paths mentoring. Post Everlark stunt, Snow’s compelled to take their shine away, but there aren’t suitable victors to match Finnick with in 4…and the other age appropriate ones wouldn’t deliver the perfect illusion he needs. So he moves Reader to 4 under some other pretense and forces them to weave a romance to bury Everlark.

Maybe they’re able to build at least a sense of friendship; but Finnick doesn’t start to really notice her (and/or his feelings) until she volunteers for Annie and Mags so he wouldn’t lose another person he truly cared for to the games. (Or maybe she’s reaped and no one from 4 volunteers…maybe her OG district protests seeing her selected for another district.)

Maybe this is when he really starts to see her sharp steel hidden in a sweet bouquet of quiet kindness. Like she’s reserved from losing so much (maybe only a grandparent, mom and/or a cat remains or something) but the darkness hasn’t dimmed her selfless shine—only made her cunning more lethal…like a fox flying under the radar until it’s too late for the chickens.

Maybe we could follow feelings unfolding through the Quarter Quell and beyond. Do the careers try to ally with her? Does she lose all self-preservation thoughts when Snow says he killed her only remaining loved ones because her “relationship”didn’t overcome Everlark enough before the Quell (lie or truth?)? Does she find Joanna and co before Finnick and 12? Does Finnick not tell her about any feelings before she’s left behind in the arena? Does he realize he only loved the idea of Annie? That Reader is his safe, calm harbor?

Idk. Just a bunch of rambles. Can’t wait to see what you write next!

honestly, LOVE that plot idea! especially love the thought of reader falling first, but finnick falling harder. i feel like that’s canon for him. underneath, he’s guarded, afraid of real intimacy because it’s been used against him. so it catches him off guard when he realizes one night, maybe during the games where the reader had a near death experience, that he’s actually smitten. and it scares him.

i think it’d be very interesting! especially the part where you mention snow taking away her remaining loved ones, making her lose all hope and self preservation. we all know that’s very on brand for him, but it’d be nice to see how finnick coaxes her through it, steadying her and giving without asking for anything in return. because once he does fall, he’s all in.

now i’m rambling whoops🗿 but thank you again! i do really love the idea, i’ll add it to my list☺️
