I think one damning thing about the stupidity of Elon musk changing twitters name is that if you examine Google trends for the terms "Elon musk twitter" and "Elon musk X" you can see that there twitter is still consistently searched twice as much as X, even when people are searching specifically for the man who made the bame change. (I can't even just compare "twitter" and "x" because the SEO of X is dogshit).
There's only one time period where that trend is broken, September 21st to September 24th, and even then X is at most equal with twitter
And while making this post I was a little derailed because I've also noticed something interesting about the maps Google Trends generates. There is variation depending on what time range you use, but there is a clear bias towards X in certain regions of the United states
I mean, there's too much variation in this dataset to make any kind of statistically significant statement here, but
It compels me
#i wish i had the tools and the statistical knowledge to prove this correlation exists#i highly doubt its the only influential factor but if it was that would SO INTERESTING to me
