Stiles is five years old when she meets Cora Hale, a spitfire six-year-old in the grade above her who immediately decides to adopt her as an underling. Which is fine because Stiles adopts her right back. She tries to get Cora to adopt her best friend, Scott, also, but Cora insists she can’t have boy underlings, so eventually Stiles gives up. It makes recess a little awkward for a while, but things work themselves out eventually.
