Amethyst. - PART 13
Tumblr media
The sterile smell of antiseptic was the first thing I noticed as my senses slowly came back. My body felt like it was encased in ice—heavy and aching. I blinked, my vision adjusting to the bright lights of the UA nursing room. The last thing I remembered was Bakugo running toward me. Then… nothing.
“You’re awake,” a familiar voice said from the side of the room.
I turned my head, and there was Recovery Girl, her small frame looking even tinier in the large chair beside me. Her expression was serious, her eyes sharp with concern.
“How are you feeling, dear?” she asked, her tone kind, but something in her voice told me she wasn’t asking just to make conversation.
I tried to move, but a sharp pain shot through my hands. I winced and looked down. My hands were wrapped in thick bandages, and a faint purple hue pulsed underneath. The memory of the Ice Dragon flickered in my mind, along with the fire. I couldn’t suppress a shiver.
“My hands… they’re frozen again, aren’t they?”
Recovery Girl shook her head slowly. “It’s not just your hands. Your body temperature… it’s far hotter than anything I’ve ever seen, even hotter than Endeavor’s when he uses his flames. If you don’t learn how to control it, Y/N, it could be very dangerous for you.” Her words were gentle, but the warning was clear.
Dangerous. The word hung in the air. I had known that the Ice Dragon was powerful, but I didn’t think it would push my body to the brink like this.
I nodded weakly, feeling the weight of her concern settle on my chest. I was always teetering on the edge of control, and this was just another reminder of how close I had come to losing everything.
Recovery Girl stood up, moving closer to check my bandages. “You’ve got the potential for something great, but this—” She gestured to my hands. “This kind of power will consume you if you don’t take control. Understand?”
I swallowed, the words sticking in my throat, but I nodded again. I understood.
As Recovery Girl left the room, her warning still echoed in my head. I lay back down, staring at the ceiling. Outside, I could hear the crowd roaring, the matches continuing without me. The sports festival was still going, and I wasn’t out there.
Tenya’s match with Ibara Shiozaki must be happening now. I wanted to be out there supporting him, but my thoughts kept drifting back to our last conversation. That’s why you’re not a Pro-Hero anymore. His words had stung more than I let on.
I clenched my teeth, feeling the sting of bitterness creep in. I understood where he was coming from, I really did, but it still hurt. He hadn’t seen what it takes, what we sometimes must become to survive out there – in a real fight. I had seen it—lived it.
Even so, I couldn’t help but want to see his match. I wanted to know if he had started to grasp what it really meant to be a hero after watching me battle Bakugo. Heroes don’t just lecture others; they fight with everything they have, even when it means pushing themselves beyond their limits. Maybe now, after seeing that, Tenya would finally understand.
Then there was Kirishima’s match against Tokoyami. I liked both, and they were strong in their own right, but a part of me hoped Kirishima would pull through. He had a certain toughness that was hard to beat, even against Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow.
My thoughts were cut off by a loud thud at the door. When I looked up, Bakugo had already let himself in, looking like he owned the place, as usual.
“What the hell, Bakugo?” I frowned, trying to sit up through the soreness.
“Tch, don’t ‘what the hell’ me. Like I’m gonna sit around while you’re lying here looking like shit.” His arms were crossed, his expression sharp, like he was annoyed just being here.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at my lips. “I figured you’d be too busy winning to care.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, Frostburn.” Bakugo shoved his hands into his pockets, leaning against the wall. “Denki and Mina are keeping your old man distracted. I figured you didn’t wanna see him barging in here.”
I raised an eyebrow. “You did that? Since when do you care?”
He rolled his eyes, irritated. “I don’t. Just didn’t want him yelling in my face while I’m trying to think.”
His words were sharp, but something in his stance seemed a little off, like he was trying too hard to look disinterested. Before I could say anything else, he jumped right to the point.
“Heard what went down after you passed out. Your old man and Todoroki were going at it. So, what the hell’s your problem?” His eyes narrowed, glaring at me. “You got fire, you got that damn dragon—so why’d you hold back with Shinso? You didn’t hold back when we fought but then suddenly you fucking did? You going soft on me or something?”
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came out. How could I explain something I hadn’t even fully accepted myself? That I hadn’t just fought him to win, but to protect my loved ones from a threat I couldn’t even name yet? I had no choice but to show everyone what I was capable of—to prove that I wasn’t weak. But how could I tell Bakugo that without putting him in danger too?
I tried to push the words out, to tell him about the warning Hawks had given me, but instead, I hesitated. I trusted Bakugo, more than I trusted anyone from the UA, even though I couldn’t explain why. It felt like too much. So instead, I chose the part of the story I thought was safer to tell.
“You could’ve beaten me,” Bakugo’s voice cut through my thoughts like a blade. “But you weren’t all there. So, what the hell happened? Why didn’t you finish it?”
He wasn’t wrong. I hadn’t been fully present. I was fighting something deeper, something more than just him.
“I wasn’t holding back out of pity, if that’s what you’re thinking,” I muttered, keeping my eyes away from his. It was the truth, but it felt hollow saying it out loud.
“Then what?” he snapped, his voice sharp and insistent, like he wasn’t about to let me off easy. “Spit it out.”
The truth about Toya seemed like the only thing I could explain. I’d mentioned him to Bakugo before, briefly, but not the full story. Not what really happened.
I hesitated, feeling the weight of it all press down on me. I hadn’t really told anyone about Toya, not the full story. Not even Shoto. But standing here with Bakugo, with his intense, unrelenting gaze on me, I felt like I had to say something. Maybe it was because I knew he wouldn’t sugar-coat his response, or maybe I was just tired of carrying it.
“I had a brother,” I began, my voice quieter than I intended. “Toya. I told you about him before, but… I didn’t tell you everything.”
Bakugo didn’t say anything, but his glare stayed fixed on me, waiting. He wasn’t letting this go. There was no running from this conversation.
“We were really close and used to train together,” I continued, the memories of those days flooding back. “Until one day… something went wrong. Toya lost control of his flames and when I tried to safe him with my Dragon I lost control too, and he—he didn’t survive.”
There was a flicker of something in Bakugo’s eyes, but he stayed quiet, listening. I didn’t expect him to offer any comforting words. That wasn’t his style, and I didn’t need it.
“I’ve been afraid of that power ever since,” I said, my voice thickening with the weight of it all. “Afraid of what it could do. But when I fought you… I couldn’t hold it back. The dragon… it just came out.”
Bakugo scoffed, crossing his arms. “That’s your problem, Frostburn. You think holding back’s gonna save you—or anyone else. But it’s not.”
I tensed at his words. He wasn’t wrong, but he wasn’t exactly right either. I wasn’t just holding back for myself. There was more to it—more than he knew.
“I wanted to make Toya proud,” I whispered, barely able to say the words. “I thought if I could control it, if I could use it… maybe I’d be strong enough to prove something to him. To everyone.”
There was a long silence after that. I didn’t look up at Bakugo, afraid of what I might see in his expression. Maybe he thought I was weak for thinking that way. Maybe he—
“Stop thinking like an idiot,” Bakugo snapped, his voice low but cutting. “You’re not here to make some dead guy proud. You’re here to win. To be the best. You think your brother wanted you to fall apart like this?”
His words stung, but not in the way I expected. It wasn’t cruelty—it was Bakugo’s brutal honesty. And somehow, it felt more real than anything else.
“Look, I get it,” Bakugo continued, his eyes hard but unwavering. “You’ve got shit to prove, just like everyone else. But next time you’re in a fight with me or anyone else, holding back’s just gonna get you killed.” He stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. “If you’ve got power like that, you use it. You don’t let it use you.”
He paused, as if weighing whether to say more, then added, “And you don’t need to make Toya proud. He’s dead. Focus on you.”
I swallowed, feeling the tightness in my chest ease just a little. He didn’t pity me. He didn’t look down on me for what I had told him. And for the first time in a long time, I felt like someone understood—even if he’d never admit it out loud.
“And if he’d still be alive, I think he’d want you to control that thing. So learn how to fucking control your powers.” He muttered.
Before I could respond, the door slammed open, and Shoto stormed in, his eyes locking onto Bakugo immediately.
“What are you doing here?” Shoto demanded, his voice cold and clipped. “Only family is allowed in this room.”
Bakugo’s eyes flicked toward me, then back to Shoto. “Listen half and half bastard,” A dark chuckle escaped him, low and mocking. “I’ve known Frostburn for a few weeks, and I’m probably more family to her than you ever will be.”
I felt my heart skip a beat at his words, my mind reeling from the shock. I could see Shoto’s fists clenching at his sides, but before he could respond, Fuyumi and Natsuo walked in behind him, their presence diffusing some of the tension.
Bakugo didn’t stick around. He nodded to me, a silent acknowledgment, before turning to leave the room without another word. But as he passed by Shoto, the air between them crackled with unspoken hostility. Shoto’s icy glare followed him, but he stayed quiet, too angry and confused to say anything in front of our siblings.
I watched Bakugo leave, the tension still lingering in the room, but something caught my eye as he reached the door. A small, red feather was tucked against the back of his uniform. It waved at me, just for a second, and I immediately recognized it—Hawks.
My breath hitched in my throat as I realized what Hawks was trying to tell me. He was showing me, in his subtle way, that I could trust Bakugo.
The feather fluttered once more before disappearing as Bakugo stepped out of the room. I wasn’t sure if Katsuki even knew it was there, but the message was clear. Hawks had been watching, guiding me, and he trusted Bakugo. Maybe I should too.
__________
Once Bakugo was out of the room, the air felt heavier, like everyone was trying to process what had just happened. Fuyumi, always the peacemaker, smiled at me softly as she walked over to the side of my bed.
“You’re awake!” she said, her voice filled with relief. “We were so worried.”
I smiled back, though I could still feel the weight of everything lingering in the room. “I’m okay. Just a little… tired.”
Natsuo gave me a firm pat on the back—well, as close as he could, given the blankets and bandages. “You sure know how to make an entrance, don’t you? That Ice Dragon of yours was amazing.”
I forced a small laugh, trying to ease the tension. “Yeah, well, it nearly took me out too.”
Shoto stood in the corner of the room, arms crossed, his face set in that familiar unreadable mask. He hadn’t said anything since Bakugo left, and I could feel his gaze lingering on me, but I didn’t have the energy to deal with his judgment right now.
“Shoto, doesn’t you fight start soon or do you wanna stay?” Fuyumi asked, her voice light as she tried to keep things normal.
Shoto looked up at her, then back at me. His expression tightened for a moment before he shook his head. “No. I’ll be leaving soon,” he said curtly. His words weren’t meant to sound harsh, but I could hear the underlying tension. There was still so much left unsaid between us.
I glanced at him briefly before turning my attention to Fuyumi. “Hey, can you tell me what really happened during the fight?” I asked, changing the subject. “I remember Bakugo running toward me, but… I don’t remember how it ended.”
Fuyumi exchanged a glance with Natsuo, then sighed. “You really don’t remember?”
I shook my head, a sinking feeling settling in my stomach. “No.”
Fuyumi sat down beside me, her voice gentle as she explained. “You were about to collapse, Y/N. The Ice Dragon was falling apart, and it looked like Katsuki was going to land the final hit, but… he didn’t. Instead, he caught you before you fell. He saved you from the dragon’s collapse.”
My eyes widened in surprise. Bakugo… saved me?
Fuyumi nodded, seeing the confusion on my face. “He used his explosions to keep the ice from crushing down on you, then made sure you were safe before calling it a draw. After that, your classmates stepped in to make sure Father couldn’t reach you.”
I was stunned. Bakugo wasn’t the type to hold back, let alone help someone during a fight. The thought that he had protected me—that he had made sure Endeavor couldn’t get to me—didn’t make sense. But then again, nothing about Bakugo was ever simple.
“He saved me…” I murmured, more to myself than anyone else.
Fuyumi smiled softly, but there was a hint of curiosity in her eyes. “I don’t know him well, but from what I saw during the festival, Bakugo isn’t the type to hold back. The fact that he did… it says something. He might not be easy to understand, but maybe there’s more to him than you think.”
“Or he just as a crush on our little sister.” Natsuo grinned and saw me blushing immediately from his comment. “Seems like someone’s got a soft spot.”
I shot him a look, and he raised his hands in mock surrender. “Hey, I’m just saying. The guy’s got a reputation since the festival, and saving people isn’t usually his style.”
I shook my head, still processing everything. Bakugo had pushed me to my limits, and yet he hadn’t finished the fight. He had protected me from my own power. Why?
Before I could dwell on it further, Present Mic’s voice echoed through the speakers, announcing the next match.
“The next battle is about to begin: Katsuki Bakugo versus Shoto Todoroki!”
Shoto straightened, his expression hardening. “I’ll see you after the match,” he said, his voice clipped. He turned on his heel and left the room without another word, Natsuo following him.
_________
As soon as they were gone, I turned to Fuyumi, who was watching me with a knowing smile.
“I have to see the fight,” I said, already struggling to sit up. The pain in my hands was sharp, and my body still ached from the fight, but I couldn’t just lie here while Bakugo and Shoto faced off. “Help me get up.”
Fuyumi looked at me, her expression a mixture of concern and amusement. “Are you sure you should be moving around right now?”
I nodded, determination hardening my voice. “I’m sure. I need to see this.”
I couldn’t let this fight happen without seeing it for myself. I needed to know what Bakugo would do after everything that had happened between our fight. And Shoto… he was still so angry. Also they hate each other.
As Fuyumi helped me to my feet, supporting me as I steadied myself, she smiled softly. “You and Shoto are really full of surprises today.”
I frowned, a little confused. “What do you mean?”
“Both of you, using your fire,” she said, her voice filled with a kind of astonished pride. “It’s not something I ever thought I’d see.”
My eyes widened in shock. “Wait—Shoto? He used his fire?” My mind raced. “How did that happen? He never uses it.”
Fuyumi nodded, her expression softening. “Against Midoriya. I think something changed for him after your fight… or maybe after seeing what you did.” She paused, her gaze thoughtful. “He didn’t hold back, Y/N. Not like he used to. It was like he finally accepted that part of himself.”
I was stunned. Shoto, using his fire?  The very thing he swore he’d never do because of our father. Something big must have shifted for him. And knowing that it happened today, of all days—after everything I went through—felt like a strange mirror of my own struggle.
With Fuyumi supporting me, we made our way slowly toward the viewing area. Every step sent a wave of exhaustion through my body, but I pushed it aside. I had to be there.
The crowd was already buzzing with anticipation as we approached the arena, the tension thick in the air. Bakugo was already in the center, his usual confident smirk in place, explosions sparking at his palms. Across from him, Shoto stood tall, his eyes cold and focused, the air around him already dropping in temperature.
They were ready to fight.

✧ Get to know Tamao ! A somewhat introductory post.
∘₊✧───────────────────────✧₊∘
Hi!! So many people commented under my post where I asked if I should write something more in depth about her. I'm kind of surprised!! So. I will do my best to deliver. Thank you to anyone who's willing to read this, :D If your OC/s/i would like to be friends with her in lore do let me know ^_^
The line between an S/I and an OC is very blurry here. I sometimes refer to her as a separate entity, and other times as if I am her. Please bear with me!
Since this will be the pinned post for the time being, you can find the previously pinned ask game here
∘₊✧───────────────────────✧₊∘
Basic Info Name: Tamao Shirokane Mont d'or - a comically long name, just call her Tamao! She ever introduces herself by her full name. Age: 20 years old! Her birthday is October 25th, which is also my birthday! Nationality & Ethnicity: Tamao is wasian! Half Japanese, half French. She's lived in France for most of her life, but recently moved to Japan. * TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT -- She was influenced by Shu, whom she encountered in France. She already knew her younger brother wanted to become an idol, and talking about it with Shu just solidified her decision to go and help her brother out. Known languages: French, Japanese, English
Hobbies: Fashion! While the way she dresses isn't anything special, she enjoys researching fashion trends, as well as playing around with different styles while designing Rubia's costumes.
NOTE: Tamao is autistic. And because she's a woman, it manifests in certain ways, as she internalized the view her parents have on women's behavior. Her stimming in times of stress is usually very quiet and hard to notice, as she doesn't want to disturb anyone. This includes fidgeting with her own fingers, fabrics, or any hand accessories that she has (rings, bracelets), as well as pacing around the room.
Being yelled at and dismissed will cause her to completely shut down, and isolate herself, until she eventually becomes a crying wreck. She desperately wants to be able to communicate with people during that time, but sometimes it feels as if she can't speak for hours.
Her likes and dislikes are strongly connected to her condition, ie. she dislikes X because the texture makes her skin crawl.
Likes: blankets, chocolate, quietly sharing space with someone she's close to, dim lights, having lots of layers of clothing on, socks, soft fur, the color orange, magical girls, VOCALOID music, gentle kisses from her lover Dislikes: loud scraping noises, sand, powder, and other grainy textures, memory foam, snails, yelling, being touched by surprise, hot fluids, the smell and taste of coffee Favorite food: Carbonara. She went to Italy once (1) and fell in love with this particular dish.
Circles: Ibara Lecture, ASOBI Club. She's not an official member, but she likes to hang out there occasionally.
Height: 161 cm / 5'3 Blood type: O Handedness: Tamao is right-handed!
Family: Charles Mont d'or - Father Hitomi Shirokane - Mother Tetsuo Shirokane Mont d'or - Younger brother

.・。.・゜✭・. A group of fallen angels - protectors of love.
Rubia is a three member unit affiliated with NEW DIMENSION. It consists of three members - Cezary "Zari" Ito, Tetsuo Shirokane Mont d'or, and Akinori Kagura, with Cezary being the leader.
Tamao is their one and only producer - taking care of composing songs and writing the lyrics, choreography, as well as costume designing... and much more! She's. Very skilled for sure, but also incredibly overworked. Someone save her.
To Rubia's fans, she's known as Ruby-Sama. She's represented by two mascots that appear in Rubia's music videos all the time. Think PinocchioP's Aimaina!
Tumblr media
Rubia's relationship chart! I will focus on Tamao's relationship with the group in this post. If you'd like to see a post dedicated to the actual idols, do let me know! :D
IMPRESSIONS
"I really admire Tamao-Sama. To be so selfless, hard-working and kind is rare in today's society. I'm honored to work with someone like her. Considering how skilled she is, you'd assume she'd be very strict, but that's not the case at all. She puts more pressure on herself that she does on us. I think she should rest more." "Zari is my bestest of friends! Not only is he a great singer and dancer, he's also a very good person. I'll admit that he looks cocky and unapproachable, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He's kind, funny, and at this point, I consider him my second brother. He also really likes aliens. I think that's awesome. Glorp."
"I'm grateful that it was Big Sis who stepped up to be Rubia's producer. We were never close to each other, but I could tell she cared even if she seemed distant. Ever since she came to Japan, we've gotten a lot closer. I think being away from dad was what let her truly shine. I'm happy." "I always felt really guilty for having to give him the cold shoulder so often, but I didn’t want my negativity to damage him at the time. I’m glad he’s found something to pursue, and I’m glad I can be of help now. Hopefully it can compensate for the times I wasn’t there for him."
"I'm not saying I don't like her, I just don't get her, y'know? She's a madwoman! I know saying 'If Rubia's debut fails, I will kill all of you and then myself!' was a joke, but I'm still not sure if I could trust her. She seems too kind to not be a fake. Nevertheless, Ruby's work has always made us successful so far, so I will continue working with her. Maybe I'm overthinking this?" "Nori, ah, Nori! When we first met, he explicitly told me he's in it for the money. I was kind of stressed at the time. "What if all the effort I put into Rubia turns out to be a total flop?" - I thought - "I might as well disappear!" Well. Thankfully it wasn't! Even though he doesn't seem to vibe with me, I'm glad he's a part of the group. He's very skilled, and it really wouldn't be the same without him."

Miss Tamao is a skilled businesswoman, considering how successful her unit became due to her efforts. Having someone like her attend my lecture is truly a pleasure, even if she doesn't attend too often due to her busy schedule. - Ibara "Personally, I find him a bit scary! Well, intimidating might be a better word. But I can't deny that he's a genius, and there's a lot I could learn from him. The other members seem to gain a lot from the lecture, maybe I will too!"
Tamao also hangs out with Sora whenever ASOBI meets up ♪ She's both fun, and very smart, he he~ Sora finds her colors really pretty. - Sora "Sora is so much fun! Despite working under the same agenCY, it's always hard to meet with Tamao face to faCE. Only during Ibara Lecture can I fully grasp her esSENCE. She's smarT, smarter than she lookS. I'm looking forward to seeing her in action in the futuRE. - Natsume "Umm! I'm not sure what to think of him yet. I can't figure him out at all! He definitely has some charisma to him, though."
She definitely has a sisterly vibe to her! Just like HiMERU, she's able to figure out all the difficult questions that I couldn't. We don't see each other a lot, but she's incredibly helpful! - Tetora "Whenever I spend time with Nagumo, I feel like someone put Tetsuo, Zari and Nori in a blender, and he's the result. What I'm trying to say is, being with him reminds me of my unitmates, haha! I admire how passionate he is.
HiMERU doesn't know what to think of Miss Tamao. There are a lot of things to admire about her, but HiMERU thinks there is more to her than meets the eye, and he's not sure if it's a good thing yet. He shall stay alert for now. - HiMERU "I've been a fan of Crazy:B for a while now, so meeting him actually feels surreal. We are colleagues now, but I still feel like a bit whenever we're in the same room. I think I might be overthinking this, um! He's smart, and a bit mysterious. I like that a lot."
Tamao is very dear to HiMERU. He would have never thought she'd become someone he would cherish so much. She still attends The Lecture for HiMERU's sake due to his schedule, and for that he is grateful. - HiMERU "I never thought that Meru and I would end up where we are currently, but nevertheless, it makes me really happy! ♡ We're both busy people, so funnily enough, this lecture gives us an opportunity to spend more time with each other. He's no longer a mystery to me, but I still find him as charming as the day we first met."
ASOBI Club
Tamacchi is a bit crazy in the head, but that's not a bad thing at all! In fact, that's what makes her fun to be around. I didn't think she'd be brave enough to punch me when I got on her nerves. Kyahaha! - Rinne "He's. Loud. A bit eccentric. Hearing him speak is overstimulating sometimes. But you know what? He's not half bad once you get to know him!"
"At first I thought she didn't like me, but it turns out she was just scared. Haha, I'm glad to see her warming up to me now.' - Jun "Just like Ibara, jun looks super scary and intimidating. The more I play with him, though, the less scary he seems. He's super chill, actually!!! But I'm still a bit intimidated..."
"Despite having a twin brother like me, the two couldn't be more different. I can tell that her bond with Tetsuo is just like mine and Big Bro's, though ♪" - Yuta "At first I'd have trouble telling the twins apart, and would end up accidentally telling Hinata about things I did with Yuta during our activities. It was so embarrassing, I wanted to fall apart! Playing with Yuta is always a blast, I hope I can get to know him better."
Things are always fun whenever Tamao-dono shows up! She always plays into whatever role she's assigned in our games, and her acting always gets a chuckle out of everyone! The kids at the kindergarden love her as well, I hope she can find the time to come next time we go ♪ - Shinobu "He's a kind and welcoming kid! I was freaking out thinking I wouldn't be wanted here, but he made sure I felt at home, and now everyone can have plenty of fun together!:
∘₊✧───────────────────────✧₊∘ I'm gonna be a bit vulnerable here and say I was scared of posting this because I don't want people to think Tamao is a mary-sue type of character or something :( So hopefully none of u think so and dislike her ToT Cause yes, she's supposed to be a genius in the art department, but she has plenty of flaws as well. She's liked by a lot of people yes, but she's terrible at reading social clues, and miscommunicates a lot. She also tends to shut down, be a bit of a hypocrite, ghost people, and hold grudges. I just didn't go in depth about those things because I wanted it to be a more positive post & she doesn't show those things to everyone, y'know. Sorry for overexplaining I am also #autistic and feel like I need to overexplain myself for my own peace of mind.
also sorry if some impressions are ooc while I tried to be in character I am still a fairly new enstarrie </3 I think that's all for now! I didn't write a full on personality description due to how complex she is, and because I am really, really bad at those, but I hope you can kinda understand her more and get the general idea of how she is :D I didn't really get into the backstory much either sorgy... Tysm for reading!! If you have any thoughts do share them in the comments plsplspls I wanna know if someone actually took the time to read this ToT (If you did ILY) ∘₊✧───────────────────────✧₊∘

Keito: Saegusa? Quite a coincidence for us to meet on the same floor.
Ibara: Indeed. Are you about to attend a meeting, Mr. Hasumi?
Ibara: You seem to be in good spirits, could it be you’ve been assigned some sort of major RhythLink project?
Keito: ‘In good spirits’ you say? You shouldn’t spout nonsense.
Ibara: Oh, was I mistaken? I deeply apologize for my error.
Keito: (.... Come to think of it, Ibara also leads a circle, ‘Ibara Lecture’.)
Keito: (I’ve vaguely heard of their activities, however…)
Ibara: … What’s the matter, Mr. Hasumi? I can sense that you’re staring me down for some reason.
Keito: Mm, sorry. I was just thinking about the circle that you’re in.
Ibara: ‘Niki’s Kitchen’ is what comes to mind when I think of the circles I belong to, however… No, you may be referring to ‘Ibara Lecture’.
Keito: Yes. Actually recently, ‘Keito Lecture’ went on a camping trip as a practical lesson, and it turned out to be quite the fruitful learning experience for us.
Ibara: Camping, you say? Well, it certainly is true that skills like setting up a tent, or starting a fire, would be better learnt through experience rather than through a class lecture.
Ibara: It’s quite important to be trained in such things so that you may act quickly when the need arises. How impressive, as expected of Mr. Hasumi!
Keito: Cut it with the sycophancy.
Keito: Instead, how about you tell me about what your main activities in ‘Ibara Lecture’ consist of?
Keito: We both happen to be a part of groups with similar names and activities. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to exchange information, don’t you think?
Ibara: That would be just fine. I have some time before my next meeting as well.
Ibara: Let’s see… I started ‘Ibara Lecture’ in order to share useful business knowledge.
Ibara: Hence why many of the lectures cover related content. Recently I held a course on team and asset management.
Keito: Hm. As per my expectations, it’s something typical of you, Saegusa. This sort of content isn’t covered in ‘Keito Lecture’.
Keito: My circle mainly covers general knowledge and exam prep. The closest thing to business would be the etiquette course.
Ibara: Isn’t that quite good? Business etiquette is a basic skill that every working adult needs, which is why it is important to learn and unwise to ignore.
Ibara: By the way, we do academics in my circle too.
Keito: Oh? That’s unexpected. Do you do exam preparations in ‘Ibara Lecture’ as well?
Ibara: It wouldn’t be good if we only focused on idol related studies and neglected our student life, would it?
Ibara: Naturally, the curriculum would change in response to the students being taught. That can be said for both ‘Ibara Lecture’ and ‘Keito Lecture’.
Ibara: After all, was it not Mr. Amagi that was responsible for the inclusion of a general knowledge course in ‘Keito Lecture’?
Keito: Yes. He lacks common sense at times. Studying is important, of course, but I figured I would have him learn the rules of everyday life.
Keito: Luckily, he’s enthusiastic about learning and able to quickly absorb what I teach, so it’s been rewarding to have him as a student.
Keito: However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to cover something like ‘team and asset management’ to prepare for the future.
Keito: Unfortunately, I am not too familiar with the subject myself. What to do…
Ibara: …If that’s the case, why not invite a guest lecturer to teach the subject?
Keito: A guest lecturer?
Ibara: Yes. At ‘Ibara Lecture’, we invite guest lecturers over to speak at times.
Ibara: It’s best to ask an expert in the field to guide you on the subject after all. Changing instructors also prevents classes from getting stale.
Ibara: So in your case, Mr. Hasumi, said expert would be me, Ibara Saegusa. I would be thrilled to conduct a business centric class if you’d let me. ♪
Ibara: (It wouldn’t hurt to curry favor with Mr. Hasumi, the right hand man of the former student council president, and current representative of Rhythm Link’s idols.)
Ibara: What do you say? I don’t think it’d be a bad idea for the members of ‘Keito Lecture’.
Keito: True. They do say that you ought to ‘go to the mochi shop for mochi’, after all.
Ibara: I do suppose there is! Well then, let’s schedule a date for the lecture right away!
Yuzuru: What are you scheming this time?
Tumblr media
Ibara: ……!
Keito: Fushimi? Do you have a meeting to attend as well?
Yuzuru: Thank you very much for all of your hard work, Keito-sama. The meeting I was attending just concluded, as a matter of fact.
Yuzuru: As I was about to make my way back to the office, I happened to hear a familiar voice and attempted to locate its source to ascertain what may have been occurring…
Yuzuru: Keito-sama. Even if his logic is true, and it would be prudent to invite a guest lecturer, I advise you to reconsider whether or not you should invite Ibara.
Ibara: There’s really no need to be so wary. It’s not like giving a single guest lecture is doing much of a favor, is it?
Yuzuru: I truly wonder if that is the case. After that, were you by any chance planning to continue further discussions with Keito-sama in order to gain his favor?
Tumblr media
Keito: Fushimi, calm down a little.
Ibara: (Hmph, Yuzuru sniffing me out was a miscalculation on my end.)
Ibara: (Further propositions would likely not bear any fruit. I’ll continue this another day.)
Ibara: Whoops, looks like I’ve been running my mouth. I have another meeting to go to, so I’ll be taking my leave now.
Ibara: Mr. Hasumi, if you happen to change your mind on the guest lecturer matter, do feel free to contact me whenever.  ♪
Yuzuru: Goodness, you must never let your guard down around him.
Yuzuru: Keito-sama, please do be cautious as to not allow that man to slither into your bosom.
Keito: Thank you for your advice. However, I’m not an idiot.
Keito: I am well aware that Saegusa is an adversary I must be careful of. We also meet at the Summit after all.
Keito: Also, I never intended to invite him as a guest lecturer at all. Since this matter concerns ‘Keito Lecture’, I must be meticulous in my judgment.
Keito: It’s never too late to ask Amagi and the others what they would like to learn before inviting a guest lecturer.
Yuzuru: I see now. I fear I may have overstepped my bounds slightly.
Keito: Don’t worry about it. Your words and actions from earlier were surely a result of your own deduction of the situation.
Keito: Whatever that might be, my conversation with Saegusa was ultimately productive. I’ll take these ideas back home with me and formulate a course of action from here.
Yuzuru: Fufufu…… ♪
Keito: ……? Did I say something odd?
Yuzuru: No, I merely feel fortunate to be under the tutelage of someone like you, Keito-sama.
Keito: Hmph. Since I was the one that started this circle, I can’t be half-hearted about it. I’m simply acting naturally.
Keito: Besides, there are benefits to being in the position of a teacher. You could say that we all learn from each other
Keito: Fushimi, you too. If there’s anything you would like to learn about, do not hesitate to tell me.
Tumblr media
Keito: I can’t say for sure that I’ll have anything to teach you, but it is my duty as an instructor to listen to the needs of my students and respond to the very best of my ability.

Relationship Descriptions:
Ibara: Old coworkers (sort of) reconnecting. Ibara is down bad nasty insane about her but is also EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AS FUCK. Tsunemi tries to help him open up and turn his face toward the sun, the light he abandoned, while he sways between wanting to manipulate and conquer her and falling more into a genuine, softer love. The Toxic Straights of all time. Fated lovers but evil. Yuzuru: Gentle and genuine x completely shy and in love. Watched him perform in a fine live one time and completely fell for him. Wants to close the distance between them but is intimidated by him and his seemingly perfect persona. Cares for her v much and wants to always support her. Prince x commoner (imagined) vibes lowkey. Please serve her you perfect man I love you Yuzuru. Tsumugi: Guardian angel x bringer of smiles. Works under the same agency, and Tsunemi helps out Tsumugi whenever she can since she knows he's busy. He's super shy and wants to confess but doesn't think the feelings are reciprocated (they are) and thinks that Tsunemi will definitely find someone better (she has room for you!) Fated lovers sort of, but sad. Chin up bird boy you've got it!! Chiaki: Helped her come out of her shell in her past, and she's his #1 fan!! They're like. besties in love, almost? They're super close and super friendly and they want to help each other shine and spread hope and justice!! Really wants to repay him for how much bravery and strength he gave her in the darkest time of her life... RYUSEI Red, my hero!! Keito: Fear crush. Fear crush. Has a quest to collaborate with every idol in ES, and is... rightfully terrified of AKATSUKI, more specifically, their leader. With a bit of pushing from Camellia (the AKATSUKI representer) she learns at least to get a bit more comfortable around him! But that fear turns into a weird... longing, as she realizes that huh, maybe he's a little attractive and is maybe my type and thinks a little too hard about it... Does not tell anyone about it ever (but is so obvious about it that practically everyone knows) and buries it as the universe keeps trying to get her to say something to him. Chaos and ridiculous shenanigans ensue. Fated lovers but not evil. But evil for Tsunemi. She's dying. Help her. Hiyori: Started out as rivals at some point (there can only be one sun here!) but slowly evolved into a weird disjointed sort of friendship! They bond and grow, and Hiyori begins to find Tsunemi so cute, like, she's the most adoooorable little thing. Begins to pamper her and take her out more, in hopes of winning her affections and getting closer to her! He has so much love to share, and she's the perfect vessel!! Nagisa: Circle buddies! Autism and ADHD/AuDHD creatures, respectively. Both very curious about everything, and became friends because. well, she's friends w practically everyone in Eden. She finds him really pretty and interesting, and he finds her very... cute, like a cat. They hang out when they can :D Madara: First person she meets in ES! Family trauma (poor relationship w mom) builds into the sweetest little found family duo you've ever seen. Helps her find her strengths as an idol and put her feet on the ground. Souma: Kitchen circle buddies! Friendliest with him out of all of AKATSUKI. Wataru: Just a couple of sillies. Idk I just like the thought of them interacting a lot. Other friends: All of Ryuseitai, Hiiro, Tatsumi, Niki, Tsukasa, Arashi, Nazuna, Mitsuru, Natsume
Tumblr media
Psst, hey, do you want to imagine what sort of songs Tsunemi would sing as an idol/want a better read into her joyous energy? *throws this at you!* (and an alt ver with no ES!! music for those who do not want to engage w their content at this time!) Thanks for reading! If you made it down here, you get a high five! 🤚

Stargazing
jun sazanami x reader
no pronouns used, just referred to as “partner”
It was a rare occurrence for the two of you to be awake at the ungodly hour of 3:30 in the morning, both of your schedules depended on getting as much sleep as necessary. Every time Jun had thought about stopping up to play video games or because he was restless, he was always reminded that Ibara and Hiyori would lecture him about ‘how tired he looks’, or that his dark circles under his eyes would ‘be a problem’, or even that his ‘performance was off’ would make him roll his eyes. Sometimes he’d picture Nagisa joining in and that would always make him groan in embarrassment.
However, luck was on both of your sides as the two of you had the weekend to yourselves. Jun was lay in your shared bed, in his pyjamas with a manga in his hand. His eyes were staring outside the window, noticing how bright the moon was glistening in the pitch black sky. His eyes moved from the moon to the small starts shining brightly, the brightest he had seen in a while. He doesn’t even notice the bedroom door opening and closing nor does he notice the bedsheets rustling as you get inside your shared bed.
After a few seconds, he feels your head resting on his shoulder, his head turns to face you and your eyes meet for a few seconds. He breaks the silence almost immediately.
“The stars and the moon are shining brightly, brightest I’ve ever seen.” he whispers to you softly, leaning backwards to allow you to get a better view of the window. He closes his unread manga and places it on the bedside table. He makes a mental note of the panel he was reading (even though he read nothing) and turns his head back to the window. The room falls silent as you both stare at the stars, amazed by how beautiful the night sky was. The silence dissolves as you speak up.
“How about we go outside and look at them? The window gives us limited space to look at, and it’s not that cold outside.” He turns to you and gives you a small smile as he nods his head. Stargazing is something he’d done many times, on late night walks with Mary, when he was trying to ignore Hiyori talking his ear off after a live with Eden or just as Eve. However, he’d never done it with another person before, let alone his partner so he was excited at your suggestion.
Jun grabbed an old blanket and placed it on the grass, the two of you were wearing coats, even though there was no wind. He had also brought a few snacks and two bottles of water and placed them in front of you two. Your head found itself on Jun’s shoulder as your eyes were fixated on the stars. Jun’s eyes followed yours for a few seconds until his wondered to the moon. He started at it for a couple of minutes as he began getting lost in his own thoughts. His eyes slowly moved away from the moon, instead he was looking at the stars and trying to notice any patterns. His arm gently wraps around your side in a gentle grip.
30 minutes passed, and the two of you were chatting about your lives, grabbing a few handful of snacks and drinking the water he had provided. You were doing most of the talking, Jun could listen to you talk for hours as he preferred listening to your voice and hearing about your stories, or how your day was going. Jun mainly focused on eating the strawberries and taking a few sips of water. He slowly leans forwards to plant a gentle kiss to your forehead.
He stands up to stretch his body and you do the same. He picks the blanket up and tosses it to the side, ‘dealing with a dirty blanket it would be a job for tomorrow’ he thought to himself while putting the snacks and water bottles into the bin or back into the cabinets. He took both of your coats and hung them up for whenever you two would need them next. He yawned softly every few seconds before walking up the stairs.
Both of you made your ways back into your bedroom and you immediately crawled into bed. Jun lies down next to you and your head immediately rests on his chest. His fingers gently play with your hair while exhaustion takes over the two of you.
“That was nice, we should do that again one day. Maybe in the summer?” you whisper out loud to him. The room went silent for a second before he hummed tiredly in agreement. The tired hum made your lips curve into a small smile before you allow your eyes to close. The two of you tiredly said goodnight to each other and you were both sleeping soundly in each others embrace.

I love all your yuzuru analysis!!! Sm!!! What stories do you recommend that best delve into his character? - starving YuzuruP
Aaa, thank you!! I find myself thinking about him a lot these days, ESY2 has been here only for ~4 months but it's been very good for Yuzuru.
For story recs, let's see... I'm doing this "backwards" and putting !! stories first but pick whatever you feel like reading. Except I'd hope that anyone who's interested in any fine member or the unit as a whole, started with Tempest. It shows how they view their unit now and it's just *chef's kiss*. Ok, let's go:
!!
Tempest (as said, a must read)
Fist of Idol: Togenkyo (very underrated! I love it!)
Primavera (this is for the "Yuzuru and Eichi working together" thread that I keep a track of)
Frontline Watchdogs (for Yuzuru & Ibara interaction and backstory)
Keito Lecture
Ghostic
Atlantis (this is also for "Yuzuru and Eichi working together" AND another thing I like, Yuzuru being a bit snarky. Fist of Idol has it too. It's obviously much more focused on Tori & Wataru but it's also important fine story)
Graduation
Intelligence (I've professed my love for this many times, excellent story for both Yuzuru and Kaoru and funny too)
I would recommend Yuzuru + Ibara chapters from SS Finals too. Oh and the Main Story Summit chapters (starting with episode 90), at least for Yuzuru "I could poison everyone in the room" Fushimi part.
And then, if you are interested in Yuzuru & Midori stuff: Whispering Marina and Let's Try DIY (Midori Idol Story)
And picks from Yuzuru's Idol Stories: Being a Butler (his FS1 story), The Flavor I Remember Is... is funny for Yuzuru & Ibara (+Niki's Idol Story Seasoning As You Like for the same reason). To the Hard-Working You is a really sweet fine one.
:::::
!
Let me preface this: I don't know how familiar you are with stories and developments but some characters, like Tori, have changed quite a lot from ! days. And also I find that ! writing is sometimes more... I don't know if "over the top" is exactly right term but I find many characters' traits *really* played into. Yuzuru is sometimes victim of this. And 9+ years is a long time, the older stories can have a little bit different flavour.
Flower Festival (important! This is when Tori and Yuzuru had just joined fine)
Gang (a must read!!)
Dance Floor (this is the "fine as family" story before Tempest)
Summer Vacation (Eichi gives Yuzuru a job to arrange fine & Undead live)
Science (before Yuzuru was a good cook...)
Noble Game
School Trip
Military (I'm putting this on the list although translation is not available anymore but just in case someone does a new tl)
For fine as a unit and their interactions, I highly recommend Jingle Bells and Magnolia. Plus Bells has the cutest Yuzuru & Midori scene.
And if you're interested how Midori became enamored with Yuzuru's drawings, read Christmas Live.
