#idek what this is. i just really like the idea of retaining access to outdated tech

i am slowly amassing a collection of adapters and data readers for outdated tech. this seems like it would be unnecessary and generally kind of silly, but i am determined to be able to read/play any card, disc, disk, or tape i might ever conceivably come across.

currently, i have a vhs/dvd player in my closet that is easily-accessible and in perfect working order, a walkman from the 80s that is also still in perfect working order, an usb cd-drive, and an “all-in-one” usb card reader/writer. granted, the last item doesn’t have a slot for those old-style memory cards for digital cameras they used between floppy discs and sd cards, but i think i can live without it, since the only thing you’d use it for is getting photos off of an old digital camera.

in my amazon cart right now, i have a micro-sd card with sd adapter, a micro-sd-to-pro-duo adapter, and a usb floppy disk drive.

i will probably bite the bullet and purchase them in the next week or two, despite not having any pressing need for them.

i will not regret this.

i must retain the ability to read/play as many different types of media as possible. O.o
