Yoongi often took to the coffee shop near his home. It was the building adjacent to the one he lived in and a small privately own shop set up much like a home itself. His bag and his mail in hand he would make his way to the shop finding a table near the wall but still within good view of the windows: a place where you could see out but not as well see in unless at an angle. The usual stack of fan mail, he would sprawl across the small table: Letters and packages alike. The packages were the ones that were left with the lobby of his building usually too big to fit the box or be left outside his door. The girl who came to his table more so to greet him than to actually take and order. He was here too often and knew the family all too well which was why he frequented the location. He never really chose anything he allowed them to based on their owner’s selective choice of the day, she simply told him what it was before he would nod and they would go about the routine. 

He was about to open a letter before one of the packages caught his eye. It was one of the reoccurring ones. They wouldn’t come too often but when they did they would always be unaddressed the last time it had been bigger: a mini canvas perfectly crafted work with the matching words of his latest book  written within both the art and on the back painting itself. The time before it had been prints of logo. He could never find out who the owner was though he enjoyed the works it inspired him. He took up the package carefully tearing the mailing material and opening the newest gift: a print. A once again originally crafted work and something he had never seen before he was sure by the vivid coloring and careful strokes he could tell this was the original as well. He carefully placed it back in the envelope seeing the letter that came with it. The words speaking to the art but as he read he was always trying to figure out who these unaddressed letter were from. Always offering little hint as the last line read: see you at your signing later this week. His signing was the upcoming weekend at the bookstore; the first he had done in while. his curiosity piqued as he set down the letter as his coffee came piping hot in the hand crafted mugs the shop housed. He couldn’t help but take glancing at the letter as he took the first sip: he was especially interested in meeting this fan.

I heard somewhere that you were filming a historical drama and had to look it up myself. I found it to be very interesting, Taehyung. You truly give off a Joseon era vibe while dressed like this, which is excellent when getting into character. I hope that your drama does well. Fighting!

Taehyung, allow me enlighten you on the superstition I like to call the red pen. You see, it is a common Korean superstition that if someone’s name is written in red, then death or bad luck will come to that person very soon. Why red of all colors? Well, the color red is typically associated with death. Blood is red in color, so red ink from a pen resembles blood and generally the appearance of blood is a sign of pain and death. When someone dies, his or her name is recorded in the family register and on funeral banners in red ink. It is believed that this practice wards off evil spirits. When the name of a living person is written in red, however, the reverse effect occurs, so only the name of the deceased are written in red. Does that make sense?
