Whispers of the Forgotten World
Disclaimer: I disregard the events in the far cry 5 ending.
In the hush of dawn, where the remnants of the old world whispered secrets to the new, Jacob Seed and the silent Judge, known as Deputy beneath her wooden mask, wandered through the remnants of Hope County. The land was a patchwork of what was and what might be, a testament to nature's indifferent claim over the follies of mankind.
The morning mist clung to the ground as they traversed the fields, the dew mirroring the world in each droplet. Jacob's boots crushed the grass beneath, a steady rhythm in the quiet. Beside him, the Judge moved with a ghost's grace, her presence an echo of the past they both shared but never spoke of.
They reached the remains of an old church, its steeple a skeleton against the sky. Here, they paused, the air heavy with unvoiced memories. The judge's hand brushed against the weathered wood, her touch a benediction for the lost.
***********************************************
At noon, they found shelter beneath the skeletal remains of an old oak, its branches a testament to resilience. Jacob unpacked a meager meal while the judge surveyed the perimeter, her bow at the ready. They ate in silence, an understanding passed between them in glances and the soft clink of their scavenged cans.
When a rustle in the underbrush caught their attention, the judge's mask turned to Jacob. Her eyes, the only part of her face he'd ever seen, were calm. It was a deer, moving on as they would.
***********************************************
As the sun dipped low, casting long shadows over the land, the judge's fingers danced in the fading light. Jacob watched, a student of her silent language. She pointed to the sky, where the first stars dared to shine, and then to the ground, where the shadow of the world lay.
"We're like that, aren't we?" Jacob mused. "Part of the dark, part of the light. Walking in between."
Judge's gloved hand reached out, touching his arm, her gesture a wordless agreement.
***********************************************
By the campfire's glow, Jacob spoke of his fears and hopes, a confession to the silent sentinel beside him. The judge's mask watched, impassive, but her hand found a stick, and she drew in the earth—a circle, a cross, a question.
Jacob nodded, understanding her inquiry. "Yes," he said, "I think tomorrow is worth the fight."
***********************************************
In the gray light of predawn, they stood side by side, the Judge and the Seed, guardians of a new day. The judge's mask faced the east, awaiting the sun. Jacob's eyes were on the path ahead, clear for the first time in years.
They stepped forward together, leaving footprints in the dewy earth—a silent pact to carry the memories of the fallen world into the promise of the new. In the chorus of the waking birds, in the rustle of the leaves, their story continued—a tale of redemption found not in words, but in the shared silence of two souls bound by the hope of what comes after the end.

Joseph's smug contemplating begins to become unfocused, and Danny's aware there's a distant fear of letting his eyelids fall shut just so he never opened them again— no, it's more than that, he knows what fear of death looks like on himself because of Jacob.
Jacob. Jacob Seed.
He tries to use his voice, but his throat feels raw and instead of words there's only miserable groans of pain; regardless, there's a quick scratching sound before the familiar sensation of a palm pressed against his neck invades his senses and Danny winces back against his will, not sure how The Father would react.
"Shhhh, shhh child. Be not afraid, I mean you no more harm." And maybe to Joseph that was true, Hell for all Danny knew he never meant harm it just happened.
Inhaling slowly, he blinks the Wrath away and tries again: "Did you... beg them... t-to listen too?"
It's the way Joseph's hand, which was tenderly massaging the muscle between his shoulder and neck, freezes that gives away how right he truly was. "Do not walk this path now, it is done."
He wants to say that he'll walk whatever fucking path because it doesn't matter, because— he realizes, Joseph has nothing to be pissed for.
A laugh tries its best to leave his lips, but the noise that comes out doesn't sound joyous. It's something much closer to hysterical, with notes of horrible, terrible dry coughing; and when his teary eyes try again to look at the man in front of him, he sees Joseph's face riddled with what Danny thinks might be foreign to him: confusion.
"Y-you... saved me..." there's awe to his wording, he couldn't believe that they had started and ended on a crash, separating in the first but reuniting at last. Joseph's lips part again, to no doubt reassure him with sweet prose, but he cuts him, desperate to let it spill before he blacks out again— he wants to prove Joseph wrong.
"Father, they're... they are a-alive..! Didn't— family."
Danny passes out with the satisfaction of hearing Joseph Seed's knees hit hard concrete.

I’m starting to build up more my au where both Jacob and Eric survive so instead of going insane and becoming the Stag, Eric and Jacob just become 2 old mountain men but the thought that to go to that path, to end up like that, Eric had to be so selfish to drag Jacob with him is sickening. Like i understand him, he was so overwhelmed by everything and he truly thought that he became so dependent on Jacob that if he died he would be lost that the moment he saw Jacob was still breathing, instead of letting him die right there like he always wanted, like he was waiting for, like a soldier, he dragged him to the nearest bunker, bringing him in his how despair and doing everything he could to keep the man alive despite everything going around. Despite his anger towards Joseph and despite the god damn collapse ! He acted so selfishly that he brought Jacob to a place he couldn’t live in, confined underground.
So yeah it technically ended up well but these 6 years where a complete disaster for both in so many ways.
#yes thinking about this makes me sick sometimes#like come on it was so selfish from him#the man you always loved. was dying and you knew it was the thing he had been waiting#but you were so scared. you thought you were so weak that you instead decided on a random thought to make everything so much worse#oc: eric nightsun#far cry 5#jacob seed

I could give a normal introduction of my OCs, but that's boring and not quite on brand for me. Instead, here's this:
My OCs as some of the Lines that are forever stuck in my head:
Vanessa - "Am I so wrong to wish that they would see things like I do? And am I so wrong to think that they might love me, too?" (The Moon Rises, ponyphonic)
Lilanna - "But such is the way of the limelight, it sweetly takes hold of the mind of its host." (Lullaby for a Princess, ponyphonic)
Ruby - "I'm not gonna love you just 'cause I know that you want me to. If you want love, then the love has got to come from you." (From God's Perspective, Bo Burnham)
Tazmay - "Now life has killed the dream I dreamed." (I dreamed a dream, Les Miserables)
Dimitri - "But this is it. The deed is done. Silence drowns the sound. Before I leaped, I should've seen the view from halfway down." (The View From Halfway Down, BoJack Horseman)
Fawna - "All I need is one last chance to prove I'm good enough for someone." (Good Kid, The Lightning Thief: The Musical)
Joseph - "There's no shame in loving my small town. The only good things that happened to me, happened in Uranium. It took a horrible accident for me to realize how god damn wonderful everything is." (Jawbreaker, Ride The Cyclone)
Vera - "I don't have to live life based on negative parts. No matter how bad they are, they're just thoughts!" (Life Is Fun, TheOdd1sOut)
Sisy - "I'm not crying. I'm laughing. It's all a big joke. It's very funny, Charles. I keep waiting for you to say 'April Fools!' Then I'll rush into your arms and... But, you're not going to, are you? No. Of course not. It's not April." (I Ate The Divorce Papers, Goodbye Charles)
Genji - "I've been thinkin' of our future 'cause I'll never see those days." (Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head), Powfu)
Luciel - "I'm gonna be what they want, I'm gonna be what they say. Hey, World, I'll do it your way! You're looking for a monster, it's lucky day. I'll be what you want..." (Build A Wall, Shrek the Musical)
Horus - "I thought these two might be different. Well now I know, they're just like all the rest!" (Build A Wall, Shrek the Musical)
Lucy - "Good, good, we can't be too safe. Promise me you won't go back there, hm? Just...stay here. Are you...you are going to stay here, aren't you?" (The Narrator, The Stanley Parable)
Jacob - "Stanley felt a cool breeze upon his skin, the feeling of liberation, the immense possibility of the new path before him. This is exactly the way, right now, that things were meant to happen. And Stanley was happy." (The Narrator, The The Stanley Parable)
Alessia - "What exactly did The Narrator think he was going to accomplish? When every path you can walk has been created in advance, death becomes meaningless, making life the same. Do you see now? Do you see that Stanley was dead from the moment he hit start?" (Second Narrator, The Stanley Parable)
Justin - "If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have." (Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic '06)
Apollo - "There, see? This is what you want. This is where we can both be happy, we really can. If we stop moving...we just have to stop moving." (The Narrator, The Stanley Parable)
Phoenix - "God forbid I'm seen just as a average human being!" (Main Character, Will Wood)
Wade - "Well I don't wanna eat the rich, I'd have to eat my heroes first. And my tuition's paid by blood, I might deserve your fate or worse." (Rät, Penelope Scott)
Sora - "You say that I'm better, why don't I feel better?" (Karma, AJR)
Raven - "Save yourself, I'm far beyond repair. They will bury me alive, but I'm not inclined to care." (For The Departed, Shayfer James)

Master post To ChizuPS Far Cry content (to be expanded and updated)
It has my AU's, OC's and links to my writing as well as links to tags in my blog.
Far Cry 5 AU's
Seeds & Witches - (SFW in general with some NSFW additions, developing) an alternative universe inspired by Majo Shuukai de Aimashou, a non-existent role playing video game, which would introduce a conflict between Witches, Religious cult and non-believers.
Family Tree - (frozen) an alternative to FC5 and ND story, where all Seed brothers survive The Collapse though separately and branch out their family, creating a new generation
Twisted Untitled - (NSFW and developing) an explorative story about complicated relationship within the family, where Salome is unfaithful wife of Joseph, and Restless Mina is a Lost Lamb, mirror image of John.
Far Cry 5 OCs of mine
Salome Ann "Sunny" Clock - The Deputy, woman of color, raised in a cult until her teen years, perceptive, open hearted, but prone to feeling of guilt.
🙏In Seeds & Witches she is fulfilling a basic protagonist role - a playable character of my imaginary game. 🙏In Family Tree she is surviving The Collapse with John Seed instead of Joseph, they keep each other alive trough suffering, grow closer and become married for a while, until Salome's rebirth into The Judge. 🙏In Twisted Untitled she is lured into the cult by John, but eventually becomes a wife to Joseph. Both spouses however are unfaithful...
Dina "carrot" Sommer - young woman, a brainwashed cultist, a loyal and kindhearted "carrot" to Soldier's "sticks". Paired with Jacob Seed, is his biggest fan and his caretaker.
🥕In Seeds & Witches she is a fox witch, forever young she was a close friend and nanny of magical nature to Jacob, Joseph and later to John as well, though he doesn't remember her, because at the time he was just a baby. 🥕In Family Tree Dina is a devoted follower of Jacob specifically, survives the Collapse together with him, becomes his wife and by the end of The Winter they have a child - first of the four they are raising in New Eden. 🥕In Twisted Untitled she fulfills her basic role of Jacob's follower and caretaker.
Blissed Wisp - a long time friend of Joseph Seed, his angel and in some cases lover. A result of a prolonged scientific experiment with Technocyte virus (protoframe, heavily inspired by Warframe and Dark sector games) she is presented to people of Hope County as an actual angelic entity, who participates in quite a few cult activities.
✨In Seeds & Witches Wisp is John's long time friend, a forever young and seemingly immortal witch, who was pretending to be a ghost in the woods before John asked her to live with him and play the role of his aunt. ✨In Family Tree she only arrives at Hope County when it's time for Joseph to leave the bunker, and after she signals him to finally come outside to see the new world, Wisp becomes Eden's mystic protector.
Restless MindMina - young woman with a memory loss, messy military paper on her name full of blank spots, and deep yet unrealized feelings of fear and envy.
⌚️In Seeds & Witches she is a witch with time related abilities, a character who would basically act as a Save file manager in my imaginary game. ⌚️In Twisted Untitled she is a lost lamb that was easily lured into the cult by Joseph himself and trusted to John for he was supposed to teach her their faith. They become lovers first and then connect emotionally on their similarities. Though it is hardly possible to see them treating each other in a friendly manner, since both Mina and John are utter brats.

For the AU asks, how about a role reversal AU for Jacob and Syb? One where Syb is the herald and Jacob is the deputy?
[SEND ME A PAIRNG + AN AU SETTING]
ahhhhh thank you kate!!!! fdsa;lf ok so. this got long, but considering anything under 5k is a "short" fic for me, it's fine. also writing evil syb is a lot of fun, so i just let it flow.
for context: in the role reversal au, i imagine that daddy la roux played a more significant role in syb and augustine's upbringing and as a result, syb ends up going to prison instead of going into the army. so when she becomes a herald (nicknamed the Warden) of augustine's cult, she takes over the Henbane with her base of operations being the Hope County Jail (which she calls "the kennels") where she trains loyal and obedient "dogs" to defend the cult.
word count: ~1.5k warnings: imprisonment and brief torture using an electric collar
Jacob was aware of the so-called Warden of the Henbane.
He’d read her file front-to-back until he had it memorized when Whitehorse made the call to bring in Burke to arrest her brother. Born in New Orleans and raised in a dysfunctional home with an alcoholic father and sick mother, “troubled” is perhaps the kindest word to describe her childhood and adolescence. Her rap sheet was already a mile long by the time she dropped out of high school at age sixteen — after her mother died — and no one was surprised when she started busting kneecaps professionally.
They were even less surprised when she killed her Daddy. If anything, those who knew her were more amazed that she hadn’t unloaded the entire clip into his torso. Just a single bullet, straight through the brain. His execution might have been merciful had she not shoved the barrel into his mouth first, breaking his teeth before pulling the trigger. “Daddy taught me there’s only one way to take care of a bad dog,” she’d stated on the record. “So, I put’im down.”
She hadn’t fought her case. Pled guilty, spent the next fifteen years at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, and was eventually released on good behavior. By all accounts, she was a model inmate and repaid her debt to society.
Or, at least she had, until she broke parole and fled to Montana with her cult leader brother.
Everyone who’s come into contact with her makes her out to be some sort of monster. A boogeyman with sharp teeth and soulless eyes, stalking around on long, spindly legs with a cattle prod hanging off her belt. Unlike the other cult Heralds, people rarely speak of her outside of hushed whispers, as if fearful she may overhear. “She turns men into animals,” they say. “And then she trains them up like dogs.”
But Jacob assumes that, like most authoritarians, she’s less impressive in person.
Every bone and muscle in his body aches as he slowly comes to consciousness. The attempt to arrest her brother had gone poorly, to say the least. Joseph would probably consider him surviving the impact of the helicopter crash a miracle. Jacob isn’t so sure he’d agree.
Even behind closed eyelids, the soft blanket of darkness gives way to blinding white light, and he lets out a low groan. The high pitched buzz of fluorescent lights sound overhead and he curls in on himself, instinctively protecting the soft, vulnerable flesh of his abdomen. His breath comes out rough and ragged. The taste of copper rests heavy on the back of his tongue.
Back in Iraq, Miller had told him about how he’d spent three months as a POW before being rescued. The worst part wasn’t the torture, Miller had said. It was the isolation. With no way to measure time passing, all he had to hold on to the fraying threads of his sanity was focusing on his own breathing. “If I could breathe, then I was still alive. And if I was still alive, then I could hold on a little bit longer.”
So, Jacob takes a breath.
And then he takes another.
And another and another and another, focusing on the air — cold, dry, stagnant — filling his lungs until the pain melts away and the panicked thumping of his heart slows to match the steady rhythm of inhales and exhales.
In, two, three, four — the soft clicks of a lighter’s flint struggling to spark sounds over the buzzing lights.
Out, two, three, four — and the smell of cigarette smoke burns at his nose.
Jacob stirs, cracking his eyes open and wincing at the bright white light bouncing off gray concrete walls. He blearily searches for the source of the smoke, his vision still soft and fuzzy. A figure, tall and thin, stands on the other side of his cell, and as the world slowly comes into focus, he’s met with a face he’d only ever seen in a mugshot.
Sybille La Roux — The Warden herself — leans casually against the bars with a cigarette held loosely between two fingers.
She’s older than she appears in her photo, and significantly more covered in ink. Various tattoos crawl up the pale skin of her toned arms and shoulders, and one of a fraying noose circles her neck, serving as a grim memento mori. Long gone is the mullet she once had — her dark hair cropped short instead, but the look in her eyes remains just as cold and remorseless.
It’s a look he’s familiar with. One he’s seen in his fellow soldiers and one he sees every time he looks in the mirror. Like him, this woman is a killer, and she has no reservations about killing again.
“Rise ‘n shine, princess,” she drawls. Tendrils of smoke coil out of her mouth, demon-like, as she speaks. Her lips curl into a cruel smile. “Sleep well?”
Jacob shifts, pushing himself up into a seated position. A chain jangles behind him as he moves, but he pays it no mind, sliding backwards until his back is pressed against the wall. He levels her with a stone-faced glare, jaw clenching, and even as the seconds drag on, he doesn’t dare break eye contact.
Here, under her scrutinizing gaze, weakness is the one thing he can’t afford.
She tuts with a click of her tongue and bends down to squat in front of the bars. “Aw, c’mon now, ain’t no need to be like that,” she says, taking another puff of her cigarette. When she exhales, she blows the smoke through the bars, into his cell. That taunting grin of hers never leaves, and she crooks the two fingers holding her cigarette beckoningly. “Here, boy.”
But Jacob makes no move to obey. He remains where he sits and narrows his eyes.
She sighs, shoulders heaving in an exaggerated display of disappointment, as if she were a child upset that her favorite animal at the zoo wasn’t being interesting enough. Lifting the cigarette to her lips, she lets it dangle there for a moment while she shifts her weight to pull something from her pockets. Whatever it is, it’s small enough to fit in her palm without Jacob seeing it.
And then pain — sharp, jolting, and electric — shoots through his veins.
His jaw locks in place and he grinds his teeth together so hard he tastes blood. The skin around his neck burns. His muscles spasm, and he falls over onto the ground. His heart races, thumping against his ribcage with enough force that he thinks it might actually explode in his chest. A clipped scream slips out between his teeth and he writhes on the ground, limbs twitching in agony.
And just as suddenly as it started, it stops.
He’s left panting on the ground, red-faced and drooling. Thick strings of spittle dampen his beard, dripping onto the floor below. Yet, despite the trembling of his limbs subsiding as the current leaves his body, the tightness in his chest remains. It isn’t until he can’t take it anymore that a hoarse, rasping cough forces its way from him, leaving him dry-heaving where he lay. His sweaty temple is pressed against the cool concrete, and slowly, his heartbeat slows and he regains his breath.
When he opens his eyes with another groan, he finds La Roux regarding him dispassionately. “I said: c’mere,” she repeats, and this time, her tone leaves no room for disobedience.
Jacob grunts when he lifts himself onto trembling hands and knees. Reluctantly, he obeys, crawling towards her on aching knees until the chain behind him pulls taught and the electric collar she’d just used to shock him digs into his windpipe. He stops just short of the bars, unable to reach through and grab her.
Her lips curl into a cruel smile. “Good boy,” she says and takes another drag. “S’pose I don’t gotta explain the humor of your situation, do I, Deputy Seed?” she asks, reaching through the bars so she can tap the ashes of her cigarette onto the ground in front of him.
The irony of an officer of the law being unlawfully held in his own jail by a convicted felon isn’t lost on him, but once again, he doesn’t answer.
Unconcerned by his refusal to respond, La Roux keeps talking. “Tell me — you ever think about what happens to the people you lock up?” She cocks her head menacingly to the side and her voice lowers. “Do y’know what happens when a person spends too long inside a cage?”
“Why do I get the feeling you’ll show me,” he grits through clenched teeth.
He nearly flinches when she throws her head back to bark a laugh. When her gaze returns to him, her eyes are glimmering with malice. “You gonna give me reason to?” she asks. Once again, Jacob remains quiet, and she takes the moment to let her eyes rake over his body, sending a shiver crawling down his spine. She locks onto his old army dog tags, which dangle freely from his neck. Her smile widens. “Nah, y’already half broken in, ain’t’cha?”
She rises to stand and looks down at him groveling before her like a dog. Taking a final drag, she lets the butt of her cigarette slip from her fingers and fall to the ground. Her heavy boot comes down and she grinds its glowing ember out with her heel. “Don’t worry. We’ll get’cha the rest of the way there. I’ll train ya up real good.”

I wonder, how does everyone feel about Dep. Hadassah joining Eden’s Gate to save the last of their team? Anyone feel betrayed or anything?
{ Hudson } "Thought they were fucking crazy. Joining THEM?! After everything they've fucking done? Of course I feel betrayed. But we're gonna come back later with fucking. Armed forces or something because that shit was crazy."
{ Whitehorse } "I know they were doing it for the best outcome possible. But I can't help but feel betrayed as well. They're the enemy to join them it's like bein' a turncoat. Just hope they're treatin' her right."

"... Worried. The cult is fucking manipulative. Even without the Bliss I... I-I can still feel that influence, that maybe they were right and it would've been better to go with them. I... I'm conflicted for sure. I hope they're safe that's all. I hope Joseph hasn't wormed himself into their fucking mind like he has mine."
"Worried. That's my fuckin' cousin after all, anythin' happen to them I'm blamin' myself. And... Iunno, maybe Jacob too. Told Jacob t'take care'a my cousin and he does this instead. Fuck..."
"Dep did what? With those FUCKIN' PEGGIES?! Oh nah that's a rescue operation! Come on Carmina lets fly!"
"Well, I just gotta burn shit that ain't the Deputy now. Clearly they forced them to join their shit and they had no say! That ain't cool man!"
"I... I-I hope they're alright. Jacob's done so much to them already I can only imagine how Joseph works. The thoughts of whether they've been hurt already by that madman are terrifying to me. I can't... I don't want that to happen. I can't bear the thought."
"It was a good choice to keep their people alive. But there are those that will not see such an action as righteous. Instead, they'll see it as betrayal and the such. I worry for the Deputy however. That cult's done a lot worse. I've heard they haven't been injured since they joined the cult but it won't be easy to not be worried twenty-four-seven for them. Their survival will be in my prayers."

Chapter 15
The Devil Must Have His Paw Over It
Far Cry 5 Montana's Feral Alchemist
Rook is becoming a destructive force, both worrying and angering John. Jacob grows more intrigued...
...When at last he subjugated her, he would not fail to to impart to her his displeasure at the flagrant display of her many offences. The Deputy would have to endure, to suffer significantly. John swallowed, feeling his mouth fill with saliva and his heart with abject anticipation...
Grace had heard chatter about the Deputy. She wasn’t certain all the tales being shared were true, but she didn’t care. The resistance benefited from the telling of her successful exploits which highlighted cunning, brutality and at times, even whimsy. It gave hope and provided inspiration. Having assisted with driving the Peggies out of The Lamb Of God Church was no small feat. And as far as Grace was concerned, the Deputy had lived up to the burgeoning folklore admirably.
“Fuck…!” Rook exclaimed, then clenched her teeth once more, determined to stay still.
Grace was probing for the bullet in her right shoulder. “Almost got it,” she reassured. And then with a smile she removed the forceps and bullet with a smooth, precise and swift motion. She thoroughly irrigated the wound prior to suturing it with dental floss and a sewing needle.
“I’m lucky that I got shot in your company.” Rook exclaimed as she admired the pristine sutures prior to Grace applying a bandage.
“Yeah, you are.” Grace agreed without any arrogance. She cocked her head to one side, drink?”
She didn’t have to ask twice. ______________________________________________________________
John had sent his people to destroy the veteran’s graves at The Lamb Of God Church. He wanted to wipe away the old world and in particular, the heroes of the old world. Destroying the manifestations of their corrupt society, he would leave the ruins to rot and sever the sinners from any remaining hope of retreating to their old ways.
When the faithful reported that Grace Armstrong was alive and well and defending the Church and the veteran’s graves within the yard he became livid.
“Double the faithful,” he demanded. Monitoring the battle chatter from the ranch he attempted to quiet his frustration. Afterall, in the end, they would prevail. His focus had begun to stray to planning his next session of confessions when the sound of a succession of massive explosions could be heard followed by increased agitation and panic.
“The Deputy’s got a rocket launcher! We’ve lost two trucks and scores of men!” ______________________________________________________________
Rook had been embracing her archetype of Hell with a rabid enthusiasm. Reports of her activities had been spreading like a rash all over Holland Valley with no clear preference of distribution. She was adept at sheltering in the woods and used them as her base from which she traversed the Valley. The Deputy would then erupt erratically into a fresh clustering of hives defying an effective defence.
At the Seed Ranch Jacob had expressed his open admiration for her guerrilla tactics. “She’s becoming more bold. You see that, don’t you?” His fingers drummed over the surface of the table, alternatively smoothing the maps and documents John shared with him. “She’s developing a real taste for it…” Jacob’s voice had drifted off as his eyes moved from the evidence detailing her successful attacks across the room to the fireplace. He remembered the invitation he had extended to her. It was doubtful she had understood how serious he was.
I didn’t know how serious I was, Jacob thought.
An ache had penetrated the eldest Seed’s reflections. He determined he would radio her again. He hadn’t told John or Joseph about the initial contact. For the moment he savoured the intimacy. A secret he didn’t want to share. ______________________________________________________________
John felt a sudden stab of panic. Instead of worrying for the potential loss of the objective he found himself sick with worry for Rook. As she had destroyed Eden’s Gate property and murdered countless faithful across the Valley, John had grown weary of his inability to focus past the inconvenient reality of the Deputy.
He had spoken to Joseph, telling him everything. He felt sick while unburdening his soul. Instead of a rebuke, Joseph seemed curiously pleased. Still he dismissed John’s fears. “The Deputy will not die like that,” he soothed, placing a hand on John’s shoulder. “She will transcend. She will be in New Eden.”
“Whoo! The Deputy has been shot!” The random exclamation rang out over the radio and John was sickened. He stood leaning over his desk, his hands wide supporting himself and closed his eyes. He breathed, squeezing his eyes shut.
He picked up the radio, “this is The Baptist. Is she dead? Over.”
Static exuded meaninglessly for several moments before there was a fresh crackle and a voice, “Unknown, sir. It’s chaotic here. Over.”
John’s voice was suddenly soft, his words delivered slowly with a pristine enunciation: “I want to fucking know. I want her alive. That’s your priority now. Acknowledge. Over.”
“Yes, sir. Roger. Out.”
The Baptist’s worry was at odds with his burgeoning caustic anger for the Deputy. He had known she was a sinner from the moment he met her, of course. But now she was in the throes of her sin, shamelessly encouraging it to flourish. The kindness he had shown her in the past now sickened him. When at last he subjugated her, he would not fail to to impart to her his displeasure at the flagrant display of her many offences. The Deputy would have to endure, to suffer significantly. John swallowed, feeling his mouth fill with saliva and his heart with abject anticipation. ______________________________________________________________
Jacob had listened to the transmissions as the standoff at the church proceeded. There had been no subsequent denial or confirmation of the Deputy’s death. Ultimately, the faithful had been repelled from the church. Apparently the church grounds had been left littered with countless bodies. He distracted himself walking amongst the cages of those being slowly cleaved into the dichotomy of his preference: The weak and strong. Judges walked alongside him, jockeying for position. To be closest to him was a place of high honour.
At 0300 Jacob was awake in his bed. He stared at the ceiling and resolved he was through with his attempt at falling asleep. The clinking of his dog tags and rabbit’s foot accompanied him as he sat at the edge of the bed for a moment. Jacob stood then and went to his desk, clearing away the paperwork and pulling the radio forward. The shot of whiskey he poured himself was as close as he would come to a prayer. Holding the shot glass he appreciated the amber colour, before tossing it back. As he swallowed he envisioned the Deputy’s haunted eyes. The Herald relished the smooth burn, and acknowledged it was a toast: One warrior to another.
He flipped on the radio and dialled the channel. “Whiskey, Whiskey, this is…Not Raptor. Come in. Over.” Static. He poured a second shot and closing his eyes the sound of the static seemed to dance distractedly within his room.
“Whiskey, Whiskey. Are you out there? Come in. Over.” More static. More time. He breathed.
A crackle, a surge of electricity, and: “I’m still considering your offer, you sick fuck!!” Then static and silence.
Jacob drank his second shot, and content, the Herald smiled.

A link to my personal reading of the Scriptures
for the 9th of january 2025 with a paired chapter from each Testament (the First & the New Covenant) of the Bible
[The Book of Acts, Chapter 20 • The Book of 1st Kings, Chapter 22]
along with Today’s reading from the ancient books of Proverbs and Psalms with Proverbs 9 and Psalm 9 coinciding with the day of the month and year (with the consummate book of 150 Psalms in its 1st revolution this year), accompanied by Psalm 20 for the 20th day of Astronomical Winter
A post by John Parsons:
"Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light." - Helen Keller
Among other things, the story of Joseph reveals how God's hidden hand moves for good in our lives. At the end of this week's portion (i.e., parashat Vayigash), we read that Jacob had finally arrived in Egypt and met with Pharaoh, whom he blessed. When the king asked Jacob how old he was (i.e., kamah yemei sh'nei chayekha - כַּמָּה יְמֵי שְׁנֵי חַיֶּיךָ), Jacob said he was 130 years old, though he added that his days had been "few and evil" (מְעַט וְרָעִים) when compared to the lives of his fathers (Gen. 49:7-10).
Surely Jacob had reason for regarding his life as full of troubles. Estranged from his family at a young age, he became a fugitive to escape the wrath of his wicked twin brother Esau. He fled the land of his fathers only to become an exile who was ruthlessly exploited by his uncle who tricked him into marrying his older daughter Leah instead of the younger daughter Rachel whom Jacob had requested to be his bride. Though later he was permitted to marry Rachel in exchange for additional years of servitude, he lived in the midst of a sibling rivalry and acrimonious strife between the sisters and their concubines. When he finally fled from his uncle's ranch some 20 years later to return home, Jacob learned that his mother Rebekah had died, and some time later, as he finally set foot in the promised land, his beloved Rachel died while giving birth to their son Benjamin. Tragically Rachel never got to meet Jacob's mother or father before she died.
Later, Jacob gave Joseph - who was his firstborn son from Rachel - a special tunic in recognition of his privileged status, but Joseph was cruelly betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. The brothers then told their father Jacob that Joseph had been killed by wild animals and showed him his blood-splattered tunic. Jacob's hope that his beloved son would become a great leader and heir of the family was shattered, and he lived under that cloud for another 22 years before learning that Joseph was indeed alive, after all...
The sages say that Jacob appeared older than his years because of his suffering, and that is why he regarded his days as "few and evil." However in this connection they note the linguistic similarity between the Hebrew word "evil" (רָעָה) and the word "shepherd" (רֹעֵה) which they thought suggested that what we perceive as evil or misfortune is nevertheless conducted by our Shepherd who guides our way (Psalm 23:1). Often we do not understand why things happen the way they do, but a person of faith refuses to indulge in self pity or to be embittered over what God has decreed for their life.
So while Jacob said that the days of his life had been "few and evil," he nevertheless reconciled himself to God’s will and regarded the LORD as his Shepherd. Indeed before he died Jacob asked Joseph to bring his sons Manasseh and Ephraim to his bedside so that he could bless them as his own children. When Joseph brought them to Jacob he said: "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my Shepherd (האֱלֹהִים הָרֹעֶה אֹתִי) all my life long to this day, the Angel who has redeemed me from all evil bless the lads; let my name be named upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth" (Gen. 48:15-16).
At this point in his journey we see that Jacob's heart was resolved as he affirmed that the LORD was the Shepherd who had guided all his days. And just before died, he insisted on being buried in the Promised Land, in the Cave of Machpelah where Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, and Leah his wife were buried, being fully assured that his salvation and the redemption of Israel would be forthcoming as well.

IMAGINE!
IMAGINE
1 Corinthians 8:2
Imagination is something everyone has but don't use, either because they don't know how, or they use it wrongly. Imagination is the first step to becoming whatever! Your mind sees, hears, feels and achieve before you ever do physically or naturally.
Imagination is the formation of ideas or pictures in the mind of a vision, it is to form a mental image of someone or thing, or to conceive in the mind.
Imagination is also to scheme or to devise plans and purposes says Psalm 62:3.
Cultivating a godly imagination involves aligning our thoughts and creativity with God’s will and purposes. We can nurture our imagination by incorporating prayer, meditation, practising gratitude and surrounding ourselves with godly influence into our daily lives, we can nurture a godly imagination that reflects our faith and brings glory to God.
Imagination is a powerful tool that can create what we wish to see. The bible is literal writing, but the power of our imagination mixed with faith brings it alive through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Word Himself is alive and made flesh to dwell in us but He must become flesh in both our hearts and mind to give expression to our imagination declares John 1:14.
Imagine! If Noah had refused to build the Ark Genesis 6:14-17.
Imagine! If God had left the tower of Babel to be finished. Genesis 11.
Imagine! If Abram had not migrated as God instructed. Genesis 12:1-4.
Imagine! instead of selling Joseph, his brothers had killed him. Genesis 37:12-31.
Imagine! If Jacob didn’t believe that Joseph was alive and went to join him in Egypt. Genesis 46.
Imagine! If Moses had the ceremony to dedicate him as pharaoh- the most powerful man in his world. Hebrews 11:24.
Imagine! If Saul had carried on being king of Israel instead of David. 1 Samuel 16.
Imagine! If Ruth had gone back to Moab as Orpah did. Ruth 1:14.
Imagine! If Jonah was left to reach Tarshish and not turned to warn the Nineveh people. Jonah 1.
Imagine! If Mary thought Angel Gabriel’s visit was a hoax and had ignored him or chose not to be the chosen. Luke 1:26-38.
Imagine! If Joseph had jilted Mary. Matthew 1:18-24.
Imagine! If Jesus had fallen into temptation at the hands of Satan. Matthew 4:1-11.
Imagine! If John the Baptist’s birth foretold in Isaiah 40:3 didn’t happen.
Imagine! Zechariah was allowed to speak after the Angel’s visit in Luke 1:5-24.
Imagine! The disciples refused the call to follow Jesus in Matthew 10:1-4.
Imagine if Judas Iscariot had been a good friend and not betrayed his “friend”. Luke 22:47-48.
Imagine! If Jesus was not betrayed, tried, beaten, denied and finally crucified and buried in Matthew 27.
Imagine! If Jesus did not resurrect in Matthew 28:1-8.
Imagine! If Jesus had not ascended to heaven in Luke 24:50-52.
Imagine! If we didn’t need to be born again to go to heaven in John 3:4-5.
Imagine! If we didn’t have the power and the name of Jesus for our use. John 14:13-15.
Imagine! If the Holy Spirit hadn’t come as promised. Acts 2:1-13.
Imagine! If Paul did not encounter the Lord and got converted. Acts 19:5-6.
Imagine! If there was no need for salvation. Romans 10:5-21.
Imagine! If we didn’t have the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16.
Imagine! If faith was irrelevant. Hebrew 11:6.
Imagine! If there wasn’t death and judgment. Hebrews 9:11.
Imagine that Hell is real that even fallen angels cannot escape it. 2 Peter 2:4.
Imagine that heaven is real as described in the scriptures and only for believers, Revelation 21:4. Can you afford to miss it? Imagine that all you think you know is not the truth there is, that even if you choose not to believe, accept and follow Jesus, can you imagine eternity without Him?
Imagine!
PRAYER: Father, grant me the grace and wisdom to imagine godly and goodly thing in Christ Jesus, amen.
Shalom

The name "Israel" has its roots in the distant past, when Jacob the Liar (he obtained his brother's birthright by deceit) was given the name "Israel" instead.
The etymology of the name "Israel" reveals that it means "people of the God Ra" -- the Egyptian Sun God, popularized by Egypt's monotheistic Pharaoh Akhenaten.
Ten (10) of Jacob's sons were "lost" to the worship of the God of the Hebrews and chose to worship Ra and their children followed the religion they'd picked up in Egypt, along with some other practices like worshiping the Golden Calf that came from Egypt's earlier pantheon of gods and goddesses--- instead.
These are the Ten Lost Tribes, but they were not actually physically lost, just spiritually lost in the opinion of the two tribes that continued to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
So the well-spring of all this was Jacob, the Patriarch --- who was later called "Israel" in token of his own conversion to Egyptian monotheism, whether his conversion was sincere or not.
One can never tell with Jacob, a guy who rolled fast and loose and told Big Fat Ones by act and by omission all his life -- like selling the favors of his wife to protect his own interests and omitting the fact that she was his wife.
According to the Biblical Record, Jacob was a charming sleazebag, having little conscience at all. He was mean to his devoted but ugly wife, Leah, who bore him ten sons. He showed so much favoritism to his two sons by her younger sister, that his older sons sold Joseph into slavery.
So that's the background surrounding the use of the name "Israel" to describe the nation formed by Jacob and his ten older sons who all followed after Egyptian monotheism.
According to extensive genetic research investigated by Michael McKibben, the Hebrew lineage that Yehoshua (Jesus) came from was dying out at the time of his birth and no members of the Hebrews -- the Two Tribes left after the Ten Tribes went back to Ra worship -- are alive today.
Those people who practice Judaism today are descendants of the Ten Tribes, that is, Israel, who survived the Diaspora, such as the Sephardic Jews, and a large number of converts to Judaism from Eastern Europe known as the Ashkenazi.
So when the modern nation of Israel calls itself "Israel" they know what they are talking about, but we don't.
By naming their nation "Israel" they are saying, hey, we're what's left of the Ten Lost Tribes -- plus converts. Some of us, a few, are related all the way back to Jacob, that is, to "Israel" and his older sons by Leah --- the converts not so much.... but, not to worry, we accept converts.
This is why not all Jews are exactly equal. You can't expect the lineage of David to rub knickers with wildmen from the Caucasus.
And this is why all the current and immediately past leaders of Israel have changed their names from Polish and Lithuanian and Russian and Hungarian and Baltic States surnames to more "Jewish" and Semitic surnames.
Yitzak Rabin was not a Rabin and Benjamin Netanyahu is not a Netanyahu. Henry Kissinger probably wasn't a Kissinger, either.
This whole business of changing names and identities for political and social advantages or simply to evade detection of who you are and what your motives might be, or even to mark your religious preferences, goes all the way back to Jacob, or Israel, as the context might dictate.
Does this give us cause to pause? It should.
Israel is not what it seems and the men running it are not what they seem to be, either. The Jewish nation is named after a bunch of Egyptian monotheists. Where's that in the Bible?
It's in there, like Ragu Spaghetti sauce, "It's in there!" but you have to look. Joseph's wife, the mother of Ephraim and Manasseh, was the daughter of Potiphar, the Egyptian High Priest.
Do you think she married outside of her religion, or did Joseph follow in his Father's footsteps and go with the flow?
Here is Lord Jacob Rothschild, admitting that his family founded Israel:
https://youtu.be/lUpZT5hEh8Q?si=FxeNQNsYqhBq-8W-
Jacob Rothschild is telling the literal truth. He worked it out with the British Government which held a British Military Protectorate over the land involved via the infamous Balfour Declaration which just expired this year.
The Rothschild family bought and paid for the whole country that we call "Israel" today, created it out of money and thin air, while the British, far from protecting the people who were peacefully living in the region prior to their "Protectorate", pandered to the Rothschilds and sliced and diced things up into the miserable mess it is today.
Donald Trump is following along like an orange duckling following a trail of British pawprints and providing "Israel" protection as a new purportedly American State --- the State of Israel, which has a mailing address at Kensington Palace.
They are foisting off "the State of Israel, Incorporated" -- another British Territorial state-of-state, and not an actual State of the Union associated with our country, as an American State, and they are doing this for a reason.
They want an excuse to continue meddling, and now that the Brits can't do that directly, they are bringing in the British Territorial interests to play their game for them.
Let the rest of the world be aware that this has nothing to do with America and everything to do with USA, Inc., a British Crown Corporation.
We are not directing, promoting, agreeing to, or supporting what is going on in Gaza with Netanyahu's proxy government. We are not confused and we don't consider Israel a State of the Union owed our protection, money or blood.
Let them bring in their newly-hired Chinese Mercenaries instead and show the world what they are really made of, who they are, and what their motive is. They can't hide behind us anymore.

Born and raised in the depths of Manchester, England, Simon Riley had a traumatic childhood. His father was an abusive alcoholic, often bringing home dangerous animals to taunt Simon with, and exposed him to a slew of inappropriate environments.
Simon’s younger brother, Tommy, almost alway wore a skill mask at night, hoping it would scare off their father enough in his drunken state to escape the abuse. The mask however terrified Simon. Mr. Riley would often disappear for days on end, engaging in drug and alcohol induced benders, staying in brothels (where he also abused the prostitutes), going to concerts and returning only when he was out of money or when he was escorted home by police. The verbal and physical abuse resumed immediately upon his return. Mrs. Riley was defenseless against her husband, and too afraid to leave him. On a few occasions, Simon’s father would drag him or Tommy along on his benders, exposing the boys to drugs, alcohol, and the underground sex trade at a young age. On one such occasion, Simon witnessed a young prostitute overdose on drugs, and was forced to laugh as she died before everyone in the brothel.
Simon tried to keep himself busy and out of the house as much as he could. He found a job as an apprentice butcher at a grocery store where he began to feel that he was stuck, and this was going to be the height of his life. After the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001, Simon decided to join the military without a second thought, much to the displeasure of his father. He was a gangly 17 year old when he joined, but Simon pushed his mind and body to succeed, desperate to not have to return home. He was eventually accepted into the British Army’s Special Air Service. It was here he learned the ins and outs of covert missions, direct action, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and everything that went along with it. This hit home for Simon, and he struggled for a while, but his personal experience allowed him to excel, and he was recognized for his dedication to the cause on multiple accounts.
While on leave, Simon returned home, no longer a gangly kid, but a strong man who was now bigger than his father in every way for the first time in his life. What he hadn’t expected was the state he found his younger brother in; a younger version of his father. Tommy was deep in a drug and alcohol induced lifestyle, stealing from his mother to support his habit. Riley chose not to return to the military, and instead stayed home to try to fix his family. While his sized deterred his father from beating on him, the verbal abuse and physical assaults on his mother and brother continued. Nearly a year after returning home, Simon finally snapped and beat his father half to death before kicking him out of the house once and for all. Two years later, Tommy was married and had welcomed his first child, Simon’s nephew Joseph/Jacob.
Riley was called back into action not long after, attached to an American team shipping out for an operation in Iran. The team was tasked with taking down the Zaragoza Drug Cartel, headed by Manuel Roba. The team made their move on the Day of the Dead, but the commanding officer, Major Vernon quickly betrayed the entire team to the enemy. Riley and his teammates were brought to a brainwashing facility and tortured for months. Despite his best efforts, Vernon was unable to break Riley, and was for his failure. Fearing that Riley would talk, he was buried alive in Vernon’s casket. Riley managed to escape, using the jawbone of Vernon’s rotted corps to break out of the casket and, with much difficulty, made it back across the border to Texas.
It took months for Riley to physically heal, but the mental damage was done. Despite surviving longer than expected (no doubt a result of the abuse he endured in his childhood) he suffered from temperamental management issues, which prohibited him from returning to active duty. A member of the American team, Kevin Sparks, had reached out to Riley, looking to reconnect. Not knowing how many of them survived, Riley was eager to reconnect, but shortly after arriving at the rendezvous point, he realized that Roba had gotten to Sparks, and he had been brainwashed. Not knowing what threat he now posed, Simon saw no other option than to kill Sparks. He was almost successful before another brainwashed member, Marcus Washington, showed up unexpectedly.
With nowhere else to go, Simon returned home only to discover there was nothing left. Washington had killed his mother, his brother, sister and law and nephew. Sorting through the rubble and remains, Simon found the mask his brother wore to bed when they were kids, and something inside him snapped. Simon returned, killing Sparks and Washington before returning to Mexico. Riley ambushed Roba’s right hand man, Gilberto, who believed Riley to be dead, and tortured him for Roba’s location before killing him. Using everything he had learned from his childhood and since joining the service, Riley quickly and single handedly took out Roba’s guard patrol before descending on the mansion itself. Here, after a prolonged gunfight where Riley was wounded again, he managed to kill Roba. Now armed with the Mexican Drug Cartel’s contacts and business dealings, he prepared to leave, believing he could take out the entire cartel on his own, or die trying. As he was preparing to leave, he was approached by General Shepherd who, with some convincing, recruited him into Task Force 141.
Though Simon swore he would never allow himself to get close to anyone again, the fear of abandonment and betrayal weighing heaving in his mind, he did grow comfortable enough around the other 84 members of TF141, all of whom had heard his story. He was given the nickname Ghost, which seemed quite fitting since he was believed to be dead twice now. His brother’s mask had become part of his identity, and he was rarely seen without it. Riley understood that there had to be some level of trust, especially with a team such as this one. Still, he remained rather quiet.
At one point, the team was sent to Ukraine where a terrorist group had taken a grade school hostage. Memories of the young woman who died at the brothel when he was younger plagued his mind, but very well might have saved the mission. Riley allowed himself to be captured by the terrorists, where he told them and the children a story about a man named Ghost. The rest of his team arrived and took down the terrorist cell, freeing all of the children.
There were a few other missions like this one, some smaller missions which were only aimed at gathering intel, and small undercover missions to eavesdrop on the associates of targets. Though this proved to be mentally and physically demanding, Simon thrived on the sense of purpose, but continuously turned down promotions, not wanting to draw attention to himself.
On October 8, 2013, Task Force 141 and Delta Force launched Operation Kingfish, the mission to take down Vladimir Makarov, a russian leader of a ultranationalist terrorist cell. The team assaulted the main compound where the target was believed to be, and while they gathered some intel, they were ambushed by a bomb and were forced to evacuate. During the evacuation, Captain John “Soap” MacTavish was wounded and partially knocked out. Simon took it upon himself to get him to the extraction point, which left him defenseless and unable to assist. An AC-130 aircraft tried to defend the team, but was shot down, leaving the entire team completely vulnerable. Captain John Price selflessly stayed behind to facilitate the team’s escape. He was wounded and captured just before the team could reach him.

Au where Joseph comes up with a plan where Dep has to marry one of the Seeds to try and form at least some type of peace between the Resistance and the Peggies (because creepy all seeing prophet) . The catch is that Dep gets to pick which Seed they will marry.
How do you think each Seed would react to being chosen?
That would indeed be creepy! So, to make things a bit less uncomfortable, let’s assume that everyone involved is perfectly okay with the plan. Also, in your scenario, I imagine that the marriage would be more diplomatic than romantic and that the relationship could remain platonic.
I think the happiest would be John. Not necessarily because of the Deputy, but because of Joseph (and also his ego). He was chosen! Things will now get better thanks to him! It’s his chance to make the Father proud! Even though it’s a “marriage of state”, I still can see him investing himself in the relationship and being a dedicated, courteous, and obliging “husband”. Again, not really because he truly loves the Deputy (not at the beginning, at least), but because he would want to make sure their union stays strong for the Project and that they don’t leave. He would also be glad to now have ample time to tell them everything about his beliefs and hopefully make them see Eden’s Gate’s truth. Not to mention that the Deputy would finally give him what he wanted: a “yes”!
Faith would be happy too and, I suppose, pleasantly surprised she didn’t even need to use Bliss or any other trick to “seduce” the Deputy, as she would normally do. So they really agreed to do this? And they chose her instead of her brothers? That’s pretty nice! Since the Deputy would now be part of the Project, they wouldn’t be a threat anymore and she would have no reason not to be friendly. Like John (who would probably be jealous, by the way), I think she would be proud to have been chosen to secure the Project’s future. Together, they can do it!
My guess is that Jacob would have preferred the Deputy to marry one of his siblings instead of him but that he would still be flattered. He knows the marriage is first and foremost strategic anyway and that it’s certainly better to have the Deputy as an ally rather than as an enemy. In deleted lines, he said they were “worth paying attention to”, that he had hope for them, and was confident they would “make the right choice in the end”, so I think this could work well in your AU. He knows they are a valuable asset to the cult and have the potential to be a great soldier so, with them at his side, the cult could accomplish a lot and be ready for the Collapse.
And of course, let’s not forget Joseph. If he were chosen, maybe he would be a little surprised at first because he expected the Deputy to pick one of his Heralds, but he would gladly accept. It was his idea, after all, so it would make sense for him to assume full responsibility! Like his siblings, he would take this opportunity to tell the Deputy everything about the Project, his views, and the central role he believes they can play in his prophecy. Also, I’m sure he would be happy to have a new family member to march to Eden’s Gate with, especially considering that everyone else he loves would still be alive too.
#in the game the deputy would absolutely not be okay with this#joseph probably wouldn’t suggest this anyway#far cry 5#the deputy#joseph seed#john seed#faith seed#jacob seed

Maybe it’s because I feel a strange kindship to John when it comes to the age gap between his siblings, but if you’d allow me to project for a second DKJGHDKJ also sorry if this has been said before.
(just to explain the kinship and projecting I am 8 and 14 years behind my older sisters)
-
I feel like John doesn’t really have a full connection with his siblings like he may assume he does.
The age gap between the siblings could explain Joseph’s obvious favoritism and praise to Jacob and his fucked up experiments while constantly reprimanding John because he “doesn’t love them enough” and even going as far as using scare tactics if he doesn’t comply (threatening to close to gates to John). Because what? He dunked someone a little too rough? Jacob’s literally letting people’s parents get roasted alive in front of their own children but Joseph’s like “no, John’s the bad Seed :(”
Sure it could just be because Jacob is the oldest but it’s obvious that Joseph is the one holding the reins in this whole operation.
John is literally working his ass off in order to help Joseph, and is literally the only sibling besides Joseph that still believes in Eden’s Gate. He clearly loves Joseph and will do anything for him, but I can already tell Joseph would never do the same for him, because it’s already clear in the game that John holds no value to Joseph other than baptizing people and bringing them into the cult.
And god don’t even get me started on Joseph exploiting John’s trauma instead of I don’t know suggesting he get help? But no Joseph’s like “no you should literally do what your abusers did to you :)”
Now what makes me think all this?:
Both Jacob and Joseph are both a decade older than John (Joseph 10 years older and Jacob 12). Like sure they’re siblings and they can be considered “close” but it’s much clearer that Joseph has a preference to Jacob than John, my theory is because of the age gap between the two older brothers and John.
Also not sure if this is canon or not but it makes me wonder if John was possibly (most likely) an accident. Nobody just has a child a decade apart from their other children unless it wasn’t on purpose.
Siblings are more likely to be closer if they are closer in age (unless it’s like an actual healthy household then I guess this doesn’t stand for everyone, but in the Seed’s case... oop)
#in conclusion#FUCK joseph seed#this is a joseph seed hate piece#no hate to people who like him though#fuck jacob too this is also a jacob hate piece#FKGJHDKJG ALSO I HOPE LITERALLY ANY OF THIS MAKES SENSE#I just really love john and will defend him against joseph any day#john seed#joseph seed#jacob seed#far cry 5#fc5#games#violet speaks#violets theories#new tag baby

New Idea for a Far Cry 5 AU, y’all!
Unrelated note, I may well call these selections of posts the ‘Far Cry What If’ series.
Anyway, so far, I’ve came up with an Amoral!Deputy AU, Judge in Far Cry 5 AU, Joseph’s siblings hearing the Voice AU (and anyone can use these AUs either as a premise for a fic or for one of those ‘how the characters would react’ headcanons/scenarios) and now I have, drum roll please...
(Thanks kitty cat)
JOSEPH’S SEED’S DAUGHTER IS ROOK AU!
(NOTE: I’ve done the math, and with the information from early script and Greg Bryk himself, let’s go with this: Joseph Seed was 23 when he got his wife pregnant, and I personally believe he is at least 42 in Far Cry 5, and so Baby Girl Seed would have been born in 1998/1999).
So, essentially, from what I’ve thought about this AU so far, is that Joseph Seed either didn’t kill his infant daughter and left the hospital under the impression that he thought he had done the deed (he imagined he had done it because that was the only way his mind could rationalise/comprehend the situation and maybe subconsciously not kill his daughter. The Voice would be really pissed, but about that later) or he did pinch the life support shut but let go too early and Baby Seed looked that lifeless to Joseph that he went, “She’s among the angels now, time to do the Lord’s deeds” and the Voice is like “...I can work with this.”
Regardless, Baby Seed is left alone at the hospital with no one but the doctors, so what’s their next course of action? Realistically, calling any and all relatives. But oh no, Joseph nor his wife have any known relatives alive or even capable of taking care of an infant? Shame...
So instead, one of Joseph’s worst fears (in my opinion, at least) comes to pass.
The Foster Care system.
Baby Girl Seed is sent to foster homes.
And just like what happened to Joseph (Jacob and John too), she’s bounced from foster home to foster home. Some good. Other’s not so good.
It really seems like history would repeat, right? Until, at age 9, she finds a home in the Rook household, is adopted by them, and is finally given a name...but for now we’ll refer to her as just ‘Rook Seed’ for now (list of potential names and their meanings can be found at the bottom of this post).
Eventually Rook Seed joins the police academy and becomes a junior deputy in Hope County, and not even a week in gets to come along on some big arrest regarding this Joseph Seed character she’s been hearing about. (Meanwhile, her sibling, the Rook from the game, goes to become a deputy in the peaceful United States “nothing crazy ever happens here” Florida).
Anyway, I think you can see where this is going.
Now I don’t believe Joseph would immediately know that Rook is his daughter. In fact, if anything, in this scenario the Voice will only present obscured glimpses of Rook, and only allude to Rook’s importance to Joseph, but it’s often pretty vague.
(I’d like to think the relationship between Joseph and the Voice is different, only subtly though, and mostly on the Voice’s part. Joseph still follows whatever it demands, but the Voice has a more biting tone to it, though as said earlier, it’s subtle. Examples below: “Gather your brothers, Joseph. Only your brothers.” “Go to Hope County, Joseph. Nowhere else.” “Ensure you gather your flock and ensure they are prepared for the Collapse.” “This Faith is plagued with doubt, Joseph. Guide her back, but be vigilant of her, and this time, do not hesitate to cull her if she reveals herself to be a Judas. Understood?”
Now not exactly those lines, but you get the idea).
Now when Joseph finally meets Rook (Seed), face-to-face, I think she’d look a lot closer to his late-wife/her biological mother, with his piercing blue eyes and whatever else of him is there. Due to the fact he has the face of his wife tattooed on his right (?) arm, he’d likely see that resemblance more than his own.
FIY: In this AU, Rook has no idea who her biological parents are (she never saw her mother’s face and her eyes must have been closed when Joseph first saw her), so she’d most likely not see the resemblance unless she had very a concrete block of evidence thrown at her face. She knows she’s adopted, but that hardly phases her since she’s pretty happy with the Rook family.
And when Joseph escapes the chopper crash (Rook also escapes and gets saved by Dutch as per game events), and is back at his Compound, the Voice gives him one last mission. But this time, it slips up.
“Cull that Little Lamb, Joseph. And ensure she is properly dealt with, this time.”
Maybe not exactly that line, but something that’d be enough to get Joseph to be suspicious or the very least want to understand who she is and actively investigate her relevance to him.
This pretty much changes the whole game though, doesn’t it? Rook is fighting her biological family (without realising this is even her biological family), and Joseph is trying to find out how this young woman relates to him, why the Voice wants her dead, and why does she look so much like his wife but younger and with shorter hair?
But it leaves it open to more possibilities now!
Like, how does Joseph deal with the revelation that this young deputy who is destroying his life’s work is the very same perfect, angelic infant daughter that he thought he had sacrificed at the hospitable almost 2 decades ago? And that the Voice, instead of wanting them to reunite as a family, as Father and Child, wants Joseph to finish the sacrifice that was already heart breaking enough for him to commit or even think to commit all those years ago (if we’re going down the pathway that Joseph just imagined himself doing the deed because he couldn’t actually comprehend doing that to his own daughter, and just locked it up tightly in some vault within his mind, fabricating the events, tricking himself into believing he had sacrificed his daughter for the Voice)
I’m cherry picking that vision of Joseph breaking down as he carries his infant daughter from the Collapse DLC as canon.
Anyhow, what does Joseph even do about it when he eventually figures it out? Better yet, how does John, Jacob and Faith react to the news that this deputy is their niece? Did they have a minor suspicion back at the church or even during one of Rook’s captures (where inspection is quite more probable than staring at Rook a foot or two behind Joseph) and have that little voice in their head going, “Those eyes are a lot like Joseph’s. Peculiar, she kind of looks like Joseph’s dead wife that he has a tattoo of on his arm. Quite uncanny the similarity is.” How do they try to help Joseph come to terms with this news that must be rather difficult to process? Does Joseph even tell the rest of his flock? (Probably not, but the possibility is still there).
Does Joseph and his siblings adhere to the demands of the Voice, or do they attempt to convert Rook anyway, seeing as she is family? (And additionally, the only living link Joseph has to his wife). Man, that’s got to suck for Eden’s Gate, or at least just the Seed Family, especially Joseph.
Even more, how would the GFH react to this news (if Rook also figures it out)? Like, this person, their comrade that’s been fighting with them for probably months now, is related to the enemy? Do they comfort her? (Because to know that you’re the daughter of the man responsible for causing the entire county grief must be rather rattling to even process).
Even more, does this change anything between them? Probably, though I doubt it would lead to them abandoning Rook seeing as she literally hadn’t known for all her life, only understanding that she was adopted and that’s it. Additionally, had any of them suspected her to be related to Joseph, or at least the Seeds?
(Given that, in this scenario, I definitely believe she would have inherited the same blue eyes that Joseph shares with his brothers, and additionally, there are some of his genetics on her, but overall, her mother’s genes dominate everything else).
I’m sorry for the long post and all these questions, but it’s just so intriguing to think about. I STILL HAVE MORE QUESTIONS. Like, does this change the way Rook and the Seeds interact with each other? Like, to what extent does this change their dynamics and relationships? Limited extent? Significant extent? Not to the point both Eden’s Gate and the Resistance stop fighting. Of course not, but there would probably be a moment where things are just...stuck. (Most probably for Rook and the Seeds, though. Like they just need a little bit of time to process this, especially for poor Rook and Joseph).
Damn, this situation would really just be an experience to even be in, wouldn’t it?
The Seeds would be even more of a messy family. And this would make a rather complicated story and yet intriguing story.
(To be honest, I think she’d make a great older sibling for Ethan to look up to if they ever met and she wasn’t traumatised by much of what happens)
I might make a variation of this scenario in regard to my Powerbroker storyline involving an alternate version of my OC Silva Omar. But that will come later.
Anyway, welcome to my Ted Talk, where we ask questions that would likely never be answered by the original creators of content that we talk about here.
Anyhow, Here’s the list of names (and meanings of said names) that I have picked for Baby Girl Rook (Seed): - Ariel (Biblical Hebrew name meaning “Lion of God”) - Aria (Greek name meaning “Lioness”) - Bernice (Greek name meaning “she who brings victory”) - Carmi (Hebrew name meaning “vineyard”, “garden” or “orchard”) - Dinah (Hebrew name meaning “God will judge”) - Evelyn (Hebrew name meaning “living one”) - Elisha (Hebrew name meaning “God is salvation”) - Gaddi (Hebrew name meaning “my happiness”) - Hannah (Hebrew name meaning “grace” or “favour”) - Joanna (Latin name meaning “God is gracious”) - Lilith (of Babylonian origin meaning “belonging to the night”) - Mary (English name meaning “rebellion”, “bitter” or “wished-for child”) - Morana (of Slavic origin meaning “Death”, “Illness” and in Slavic mythology, Morana is the name of the Goddess of Winter and Death) - Naarah (Hebrew name meaning “maiden” or “girl”) - Priscilla (Latin name meaning “venerable” or “ancient”) - Ruth (Hebrew name meaning “friend” or “companion”) - Shiloh (Hebrew name meaning “gift of God”) - Taytum (of English origin meaning “cheerful, full of spirit”) - Terah (either of Latin or Hebrew origin meaning “hillside”, “earth” or “flourishing”. - Vashti (Persian name meaning “lovely”) - Zeruiah (Biblical name meaning “tribulation of the Lord”)

1, 4, 14, 20, 23, 36 and 43 for johnjess since that's the only ship you have haha :)
FOR THE RECORD MARI HALF THE TIME I START THEN NEVER FINISH THE JOHNJESS ONES TOO. you got lucky i did these 🙄
1. Why do they care about each other?
answered here!
4. How do their families feel?
touchy subject. i don’t want to spoil too much of future wildfire dynamics, but john’s siblings largely disapprove, all for their own reasons. joseph because john developing a romantic attachment is him once again caring about the deputy for the wrong reasons, and she in many ways brings out the worst in him on top of it. and while joseph is less willing to admit this because he is a loving and patient father to all his children including his randomly designated child of the prophecy he’s being so loving and patient and welcoming rn, he also finds her to be, well. an extremely unpleasant individual with a repulsive personality. jacob also disapproves, he’s none too happy about how much his brother is risking his safety for a woman who (once he has the displeasure of actually interacting with her) he considers so incredibly annoying and not worth it (seriously, he’s obsessed with her?). faith comes closest to actually liking and enjoying jessie as a person (the slices she gets of her when she’s not just off her gourd freaking out) but still is not thrilled by their relationship, primarily out of competitiveness. her strategy relies heavily on charming people, so she finds it more than a little frustrating that the one person she actually needs to charm and convert for joseph’s approval is somehow more captivated by, well... it’s not a charisma battle she ever expected to lose.
as for jessie’s family, it’s something of a non issue, her immediate family is all dead as of main canon day one, and all her extended family are quite distant, figuratively and literally. if hypothetically her mother was still alive (she would never voluntarily interact with her father) or he did manage to meet her extended family, i cannot stress enough that they would be so so impressed she found a wealthy big city lawyer who gave it all up to live a life of faith, and their approval would drive jessie absolutely apeshit bonkers. they might approve less upon seeing more of the project past the PR. or how john and jessie actually interact with each other. (fighting and making a scene in public? unacceptable.)
also honorable mention to jessie surrogate father figure jerome jeffries who has been giving a very resounding :| to the situation.
14. Who gets their way most often?
tough call, i would say in terms of frequency jessie gets her way more often, she’s more likely to put her combat booted foot down about what she is and isn’t doing and john is more likely to cave to appease her (while continuing to talk her to death about whatever it is he wanted her to do/not do instead).
but john tends to get his way in a more subtle fashion, and on issues that matter more. established pattern of john attempting to manipulate her to a certain result, jestiny very clearly recognizing and calling out the exact tactics he’s using, then acting out in some dramatic fashion with the intent to show him she cannot be manipulated, usually in a way that in fact gives john something very close to his desired result. she will recognize this pattern. she will not alter her behavior in any way the next time around.
20. Who is the most clingy?
john, by far. jessie is subtly clingy in her own way and certainly develops a deep codependence, but she’s much more repressed about it and likely to actually need space from time to time early on, whereas john is much more open about needing to be around her and getting a reaction from her at all times.
23. Why did they choose each other?
simply put, because they feel more understood by each other than anyone else and persist with each other where others wouldn’t. they develop their own means of communicating and building intimacy fairly quickly, as distinctly venomous as it might be. and through all the theater of it all, it is the most honest and open bond either of them have ever had with another person. rip.
36. Why should your readers root for them?
they shouldn’t, they really shouldn’t. they’re horrible. but they aren’t boring. it’s entertaining to witness the train wreck. rip to the nice folks bothered along the way.
43. What small quirks do they like about each other?
jessie claims to be irritated by but loves the way john tends to talk with his hands and make dramatic gestures, the way his laugh gets higher and breathier when its sincere (also yes, sure, sounds more deranged), and she thinks it’s cute that he snores <3 john is enamored by the way jessie’s accent fluctuates in thickness depending on the situation, when her grin is lopsided so that only one dimple shows, and the way her noses twitches when she’s surprised or scared.
