sidenote its probably unacademic of me but i hate having to resort to secondary evidence in my analysis. i'm fine when i'm referencing like history or sociology to build my point but if you make me take my literary analysis secondhand i'm pepper spraying you. source trust me bro + i love doing my own analysis

#ill cede to analysis of stuff relating to the author or context which i dont know and how that relates to the text #but if you just want me to go 'yeah this essay says this is what this means so thats what im saying' then fuck you!!!!#i have my own thoughts that i like!!!#why would i bother writing an analysis that someone else has already written!!!! waste of fucking time!!!!#like ive shot myself in the foot bcos these essays would b way easier if i was just willing to lay out mainstream interpretations #but instead im like no i have to put a twist on it i have to say something i have to be interested in this i cant just say the basic shit #so im out here like Ummm well when tambudzai fights with her brother and blood runs down her legs it's an allusion to menstruation #which in turn is a metaphor for coming of age and this is the cornerstone on which i will base my entire analysis
