₊ ⊹
Lando never knew he wanted to be a dad until 3:05 pm on a random Tuesday in June.
He was sitting on the couch, eating whatever you had started for lunch that day, before you started feeling ill and he had to take over. What you planned to be a delicious pasta dish for that day had turned into a burnt… something… on Lando’s plate. The guilt of ruining your food made Lando promise to buy you some takeout once you felt better.
You had gotten increasingly nauseous and felt weak nearly every day for the past two weeks, but Lando figured it was just the flu so he brought you tea and some chicken noodle soup (ordered in) every once in a while.
“Lando!”
Your voice echoed down the halls from you two’s bedroom and he paused his show before jogging over, ready to get you the world. What he saw when he opened the door made his heart swell— you looked like a shell of yourself, all pale and weak underneath the sheets.
“What do you need, angel?” He sat down next to you, gently placing the back of his hand on your forehead to check if you had a fever.
You sat up, taking his hands in yours before taking a deep breath. “I need you to buy me something.”
“Anything.” He nodded, paying attention. What he didn’t expect to hear was pregnancy test as soon as he answered you. “A what?”
“Pregnancy test,” you repeated. “Just in case. I don’t want to scare you into anything, but we also can’t be unprepared if that’s the case.”
“You mean if you’re pregnant,” he hums, completely lost in thought. “I, uhm, I gotta get a shirt on and I’ll go get you the, uh. The pregnancy test.”
Lando flailed around your bedroom like a headless chicken, looking for a shirt to pull over his naked chest, his hips already covered by black shorts. He tugged on a Quadrant hoodie and looked over to you, about to say something. You raised your eyebrows to encourage him, but he just turned around and ran out of your bedroom, closing the door behind himself.
He’s not even sure how he got to the pharmacy. All he remembers is calling Max frantically from the car on his way home.
“Dude, are you okay? You look insane.” Lando’s best friend laughed through the screen. When he noticed his curly haired friend simply glancing over at his phone with worry, Max furrowed his brows. “Seriously, what’s going on?”
“Isn’t it crazy how, like, someone peeing on a stick could potentially change your whole life? Like I know more goes into that and, like, stuff happens before the pee stick, but isn’t it insane to you?” Lando rambled.
“Mate, pee stick?” Max looked confused. It’s only when Lando held up the little pink box that he finally understood. “Oh, you think she’s pregnant?”
“No, she thinks she’s pregnant. I was watching Dexter and she just called for me, and then I’m-“
“Lando, breathe.” Max cuts him off. “It’s okay, you two are at a great place in your relationship right now to start planning for these things, if this turns out to be just a pregnancy scare.”
“Are we? I mean, am I even ready to be a dad?” Lando continued freaking out, the car already parked at the garage. “I’ve never even thought about kids, and this is just-“
“How about you go inside, go be there for her, and if it turns out that you will be a dad, then you call me and freak out, okay?”
Lando was about to bite off his whole finger with how aggressively he was nibbling at the skin around his nails. “Okay, I’ll talk to you later.”
It took him another ten minutes before he got himself out of the car. He was dreading it. He wasn’t sure what you were thinking about it, either, so he didn’t know whether or not his lack of excitement was because he was scared for himself or for you.
You knew he would never force you into anything you didn’t want to do, but motherhood? That’s not something Lando could imagine was easy to be in or get out of. Hell, he couldn’t imagine what the next nine months would be like for you. Especially with how he’s away for most of the time.
Maybe that’s what he’s most scared of.
He knows you’d be a great mum and he could be a good dad if he tried, but his career could interfere with this.
Lando liked how you would sometimes pick to come and visit him during race weekends, especially at Silverstone or Monaco, but what if that’ll have to stop and he’ll only get to see you a few days every month?
The fear of being a present but physically absent father shook him to his core.
He was still scared and trying to stop biting his fingers as he watched you open the bathroom door. “So?”
“We have to wait five minutes,” you told him before sitting next to him on the edge of the bed. He noticed your shoulders shake before you let out a quiet sob. “Sorry, I’m just-“
“Shh, it’s okay,” his arms instinctively wrapped around your body as he pulled you in, all the fear from his just gone the second you needed him. “I know you’re probably terrified.”
“Yeah,” you sobbed into his shoulder. “I know I should be happy, but I’m so scared.”
“You shouldn’t be anything other than you are, babe.” His hand came up to caress your head, like he knew you liked him to do. “I’m fucking scared to death right now, and I honestly feel better knowing you didn’t expect me to be happy.”
“No, I know. This could fuck up your whole career,” you pulled away, wiping your eyes. “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, no, what?” Lando’s face changed from worried to confused. “Don’t even think like that and don’t apologise. It’s kind of both of our fault if we’re having a baby.”
That’s when he saw you dart up from your seat and practically throw yourself towards the bathroom. He followed you closely, leaning on the doorframe to your en-suite bathroom, his bottom lip between his teeth as he anxiously nibbled at it.
Lando couldn’t exactly read your expression. He couldn’t tell if you were looking at a positive or a negative, your face was just frozen in the expression you had when you looked at it. “So?”
Your bottom lip quivered as you turned the little plastic stick towards him.
“We’re having a baby?” He took it into his own hands, hastily, eyes darting between the two lines on the test and the nervous look on your face.
“We’re having a baby.” You nodded, a sad smile decorating your face as you welled up in tears again.
Lando’s not sure what changed, but in that split second, he felt an overwhelming amount of joy pump through his system. His face erupted into a wide grin as he picked you up and spun you around.
“We’re having a baby!”
— november
The bedroom door opened to reveal your boyfriend with a small smirk on his face.
“What have you bought this time?”
He raised his arms in offense. “What do you mean? Why does me entering the bedroom have to mean that I bought something again?”
“Because you have that look on your face. The one that tells me you bought something, and I won’t know if it's a new car or a tub of ice cream until you tell me.” You rubbed your little bump as a thought came to your head. “Oh, ice cream. Could you get some? Caramel, please.”
“Yeah, sure, later. And you’re right,” Lando finally revealed what he was hiding behind his back. It was a small, turquoise, paper bag with a pacifier logo on it. “I did buy something.”
You watched closely as he dumped the content of the bag onto your bed. He lifted up each article of clothing one by one, showing you what he picked out with a proud smile on his face.
“Aren’t these cute?” He asked, glancing over at the laid out onesies, shirts and socks on the bed. “I got them for like four to six months, cause I heard they grow out of newborn clothes, like, immediately.”
“That’s sweet, angel,” you smiled at him. “But we don’t even know the gender yet and you’ve already bought the baby their whole wardrobe.”
“No, I know.” Lando nodded. “That’s why they’re all either green, yellow or papaya,” he said the last colour with a wiggle of his eyebrows, which made you roll your eyes and laugh.
“You’re lame.”
He leaned in to place a kiss on your forehead. “And you’re beautiful. What does baby want for dinner?”
Lando developed a habit of speaking to you through the baby now. It was honestly adorable— he’ll wake up in the morning, a hand softly caressing your belly as he asks how did the baby sleep, which in truth is asking how you slept. It was lame, but cute.
“Ice cream. Caramel.” You remind him. “And maybe some chicken with rice.”
“Ew, are you trying to be healthy?” Lando grimaced. “That’s like what I eat for race weekends to be all fit and stuff. You need to eat nutritious and filling meals.”
“Is chicken not nutritious or filling?” You crossed your arms, challenging him.
He shrugged. “I don’t think that’s what the baby wants.”
He knew your little tricks and habits. You would spend a little too much time on pregnancy blogs online, reading into their nonsense about how much or little you should eat, and what you should or shouldn’t eat.
You had already had some doctor visits and Lando had made sure to ask if you needed any dietary changes, to which your doctor said no. So, Lando knew that you being a health-freak again meant you were in your head, and he wasn’t wrong.
When you finally dropped your shoulders in defeat, he smiled softly. “Yeah. Baby wants fries and nuggets.”
“Coming right up,” he waltzed out of the bedroom, leaving you to fold all the new baby clothes and put them in the dresser Lando had built for them. It stood right next to the crib, of course.
Lando was a little over prepared at a really early time, but it made you that much more excited to see him become a father.
You know he’ll do great, even if he spends about half his money on baby stuff.
— august
It’s a few months after your daughter was born and you have yet to fully get the hang of parenthood.
She’s amazing— little Maryn Grace Norris, a head full of hair and the chubbiest little cheeks known to man. Lando fell in love with her the second he saw her, his eyes welling up in tears when they laid her on his bare chest for the first time.
And you fell in love with him all over again seeing how he carried Maryn in one arm and prepared a bottle with his other. He was tired, hair messy and a yawn left his system as often as a breath at this point, but still— fatherhood looked gorgeous on him.
Lando thought the same about you. His heart grew twice the size when little Maryn was born, and he admired how you immediately knew what to do to make Maryn feel content.
Since it’s already been a few months since her birth, you two decided to let friends and family come visit. The first two people who wanted to see little Maryn were Max and Pietra.
The pair came bearing many gifts, of course, and you had to put them all in the spare guest room since your bedroom had an abundance of baby products in it already.
You and Pietra sit on the couch, watching how Maryn slept soundlessly in your arms. There’s distant chatter from the kitchen where Lando and Max are discussing racing stuff and preparing dinner, so you three decided to head to the living room and watch a show.
“She’s so tiny,” Pietra softly tucked her finger into Maryn’s tiny palm. “Is she always this calm?”
“Most of the time, yeah. She gets fussy at night, but Lando’s always up with her.” You look towards the kitchen, a small smile on your face as you watch your fiance stir the pan. He’s always shirtless, because Maryn immediately calms down when she feels the warmth of his skin— something she probably would’ve gotten from you if it was genetic— and his back muscles were on full display.
“What?” Pietra notices your gaze lingering for a while and once she sees who you’re looking at, she snorts. “Are you thinking about another one?”
“Another what?” You snap out of your tiny daydream and turn to her. “Baby? No, definitely not.”
“Mhm,” she gives you a knowing look and takes a sip of her wine. “I’ll give it a year or two before we have another copy of Lando running around.”
“We’ll see,” you look down at the sleeping girl in your arms. She began to fuss a little, rubbing her nose with her fist and threatening to cry.
In a few more minutes, Lando waltzes into the living room with a new glass of wine for Pietra and one for you. “Non-alcoholic,” he says, placing the glass down in front of you. “Now gimme my girl.”
You gently lift her up and hand her off to Lando, and of course, the second her cheek lays against his bare chest, she’s calm again. Pietra’s eyes widened. “You weren’t lying.”
“I know!” You pick up your glass and take a sip. “He’s like magic or something.”
As Lando walks away back towards the kitchen, he briefly turns his head towards the two of you with a proud smile. “She’s just a daddy’s girl.”
Both you and Pietra roll your eyes before continuing your conversation.
— march
It’s the middle of the day and Lando was helping you get Maryn ready to go visit your parents.
The little one was now ten months old, babbling about things only she could understand, but Lando found it entertaining to have full-on conversations with her, as if she could respond in any intelligible way.
He was getting her dressed when Maryn started babbling again.
“Yeah? You like this dress, huh?” He smiles down at her. “I bet your grandma will love it, too.”
You were in the bathroom, curling your lashes when Lando suddenly called out for you. When you walked out into your bedroom, he was holding your daughter with a little glimmer in his eye. “She just said dada.”
“No way,” you gasp. When you’re close enough, Maryn reaches her arms towards you and you pick her up into your embrace. “Did you? Is my big girl about to start talking?”
She starts babbling again, poking at your face and playing with her fingers. In the midst of her babble, she says dada again, and your eyes immediately shoot to Lando. “I told you! I knew she’d be a dada’s girl.”
“That’s just unfair, I spend so much time with her!” You sigh in defeat before turning to your daughter. “C’mon, you got this. Say mama.”
Maryn just looks down at her fingers and how she’s grasping her own hands in an odd way. She babbles again, blowing raspberries as you lay her down on the changing table.
Lando walks up behind you and places a kiss on your shoulder, before harmoniously announcing, “dada’s girl,” as he walks away.
“I don’t know how you do it, Mar,” you look at your daughter again, a wide grin on her face as she continues talking to you in a language only her little mind can understand.
— june
Dulcet sounds of your favourite songs play through the kitchen as you prepare lunch for you and Maryn. Lando’s out to golf with Max, so you two decided to have a little girls day.
She’s playing in the living room when you turn around to the pans for just a minute. You can hear the pitter patter on the floor and assume it’s her tiny palms as she crawled over.
Maryn was a traveller, she enjoyed playing in the dirt and sand, and crawling through your backyard to find rocks and flowers. And she was a huge daddy’s girl. To the point where she would start crying if she hadn’t seen Lando in more than an hour.
Today, however, she didn’t seem to be too bothered by his absence.
When you turn around, you see her sitting on the floor in the spot between your kitchen and living room. “Are you coming to mama?” You kneel down and watch as Maryn begins crawling to you.
What you don’t expect to see is her stand up on two feet and steady herself, eyes focusing on you as she held herself up with a hand on the wall. She was determined to make her way toward your outstretched arms, and so she did.
Maryn took one step, and then another, and then three, four, five, until she slumped into your arms with a giggle.
“Oh my god,” you kiss her head as you pick her up. “Your dada will be so happy.”
As if on cue, the front door opens and Maryn’s head whips to the source of Lando’s cheery voice. He steps into the kitchen with a grin on his face, “my two favourite girls,” he kisses your temple and takes Maryn into his arms.
You decided to not tell him that she already took her first steps and instead let Lando experience them himself without expecting it. You’re not sure how long it’ll be till she decides to walk again, but you’re sure it’ll spark that same excitement in Lando’s chest as it did in yours.
It took her a few more days, and a week before her first birthday, to take her second-first-steps.
Lando was sitting on the couch watching an old race of his, you were in the kitchen preparing a snack for your little girl while she sat and played on the playmat in the hall between you two. Lando would glance over at her every once in a while to keep an eye on what she was doing, but Maryn has always been a calm girl so there was no worry there.
“What’s on the menu today?” Lando asks when you set down the plate on your coffee table. He has a habit of stealing a few bites of Maryn’s snack once in a while, which eventually made her understand that he was also hungry when she was, so she’d immediately share her food when he’s in sight.
You smack his hand away when he reaches over to take a cucumber off her platter. “Leave her food alone, she hasn’t even had a bite yet.” Lando sighs in defeat and looks at Maryn when you call her name. “Maryn, come have your snack.”
Lando’s heart skips a beat when the girl pushes herself up to stand on her legs. He softly touches your shoulder, “babe, look.”
Maryn lets go of the wall, her balance still off for the most part, but she reaches her arms towards you two and waddles a few steps over to the coffee table. Lando’s beaming and jumps out of his seat to pick Maryn up and spin her in the air. “My big girl can walk!”
You watch as Maryn erupts in giggles and Lando kisses her face, a warmth in your chest so big it could replace the sun.
— a year later
The paddock was buzzing with people and Maryn grew more and more anxious in Lando’s arms.
You walked beside them when Maryn tucked her head into the crook of Lando’s neck. “You okay?”
“Loud,” she mumbles, snuggling closer to hide her face from the sun. Maryn was now two and a half years old, and made her first paddock appearance today.
She had already met a few of the drivers and found them all incredibly funny, and all of them adored her. Maryn had grown into her personality— she’s curious, funny, caring and silly. She pulls funny faces when she notices someone’s sad, gives pieces of her food to you and Lando when she’s eating, makes jokes without even realising it and asks questions about everything.
The three of you make your way to the McLaren garage and all the engineers beam at the sight of Maryn.
“Alright, you two can stay right here while I go get ready,” Lando pressed a quick kiss to your lips and softly pinched Maryn’s cheek before making his way to where he needed to be.
Maryn watched as her dad walked away and gently placed her head on your shoulder. “Where is dada?”
“He has to change into his special clothes for the car, remember?” You look down at the curly-haired blonde girl and she nods an answer to your question. “He’ll be back in a bit, don’t worry.”
The little girl just huffs a sigh and takes a look around the garage from where she’s sat on your lap. She can see all the aunts and uncles who work with her dad, noticing how all of them are dressed in the same colour as her— a small LN4 shirt sitting baggy on her torso. Maryn smiles to herself, believing that they are all matching her.
“Mum?” Maryn glances up at you. You smooth a hand over her curls, knowing that whenever she says your name like that— soft, a little hesitant— she’s about to ask something important.
“Yes, love?”
“Why does dada have to go in the car?” she asks, blinking up at you with those green, wondering eyes that always seem to look right through to your heart.
“It’s his job,” you remind her, “he has to go fast and win the race. It’s kind of like a game.”
She rests her head against your chest, processing, as her tiny fingers play with the hem of her shirt. Then, in the smallest and most sweet voice: “Can I go fast too?”
You laugh softly, wrapping your arms around her, softly tickling her sides. “Maybe one day, but for now you get to sit with mama and watch daddy race.” Maryn giggles at that, leaning into your arms as she tries to wriggle out of your hold.
One of the engineers comes by and hands her a tiny headset, custom-made just for her. She squeals when she recognizes it— she’s seen Lando wear one just like that. “Look, mum! I match again.”
“You do!” You grin a smile as wide as your daughter and softly adjust the headset to sit more snugly. “You look just like your dad.”
As if summoned by the sentiment, Lando appeared back in the garage, now clad in his orange race suit. Maryn spots him and immediately sits up, bouncing a little in your lap. “Dada!” She waves with both arms and Lando makes his way over.
He picks her up from your lap with a soft peck to her forehead. “There’s my little racer,” he beams. “Ready to see me go fast?’
Maryn nods, enthusiastically. “Mhm! But, be careful, okay?” She curls into Landos’ embrace, awkwardly laying her head against his chest.
“Of course, baby,” he softly caresses her back in an attempt to calm her. “I promise only safe speeds today, okay?”
You watch the two of them, softly smiling as the paddock noise blurs in the background. When one of the engineers informs Lando that he has to go, the curly-haired racer hands Maryn off to you and places a kiss on each head of his girls.
“Go win this,” you tell Lando, smiling as he prepares to walk away. Maryn raises her arms in support, “go win, dada!”
“For my girls,” he nods, flashing the two of you a smile before tugging on his balaclava and disappearing further into the garage.
Soon after, the race is about to begin and the garage springs to life—monitors flicker with telemetry, voices crackle through the headsets and engines roar as the cars exit the pitlane. You pull Maryn closer on your lap and adjust the volume on her headset, making sure it’s just low enough not to startle her, but high enough to hear her dada’s voice filter through.
Her big, green eyes track every movement on the screens—all the colourful cars are displayed but she’s only looking for orange. When a McLaren appears on the screen, she narrows her vision to notice the helmet. She knows that uncle Oscar has a blue one, and her dada’s got a fleuro green.
Excitement erupts in her whole body when she notices the green helmet, “there! That’s dada!” She squeals with such awe, as if she can’t believe that the superhero on the screen is the same man who tucks her into bed and sneaks her cookies when you’re not looking.
You brush some curls away from her forehead and plant a soft, but proud, kiss on it. “Yep, that’s him. Look at him go.”
For the next laps, Maryn sits still, as if her movement could, in any way, make a difference in the race. She thought that if she sat still, her dada could focus and win, so she did just that. In all truth, she was completely captivated. Maryn didn’t understand a thing about racing just yet, but she knew enough to know that when the aunties and uncles in orange start leaning forward, narrowing their eyes at the screen, her dada’s doing something incredible.
And he was.
Lando gains a position, going from p4 to p3. A cheer breaks out in the garage and Maryn shrieks with joy, mirroring the smiles on everyone's faces.
“Did he win, mum?” she asks, looking up at you with curious eyes.
“Not yet, love, but he’s getting there.”
A few more laps pass and she begins to fidget, tired. You lay her against your chest and her thumb slips into her mouth like it does when she’s sleepy— a habit she formed soon after you took pacifiers away. Still, despite the noise of the garage lulling her to sleep, Maryn’s little eyes stay glued to the screen, watching Lando in quiet admiration.
Then, in the last few laps, when Lando’s another position ahead and fighting for pole, the energy shifts. The entire garage sits still— hopeful, waiting. Maryn’s eyes flutter shut, no longer fighting the sleep as your eyes stay focused and your heart pounds, watching as the gap between Lando and the car ahead shrinks corner to corner.
“Come on, Lan,” you whisper under your breath as you subconsciously caress the back of Maryn’s head.
And on the very last lap— through a risky overtake and a perfectly timed sector— he does it. He gains the position and lands himself in first place.
Maryn jolts awake at the noise of engineers cheering around her, and she quickly glances to the screen. “Mum, he won!” She grins widely, still sleepy but happy to be included once you tightly squeeze her into a hug.
“He did!” You laugh, blinking away a tear or two.
The cooldown lap passes in a blur of shared hugs and smiles, and Lando’s voice plays in the headsets, light and breathless. “This one’s for the two loves of my life waiting for me. I love you.”
You feel your daughter sigh happily in your arms, waiting patiently for when her dad joins you two. Once the team helps him out of the car, Lando makes his way back to the garage, flushed and sweaty, but beaming. He barely gets his helmet off when Maryn starts running in your lap, her feet not even touching the ground yet.
She wriggles out of your lap and sprints across the floor, arms raised for her dad to pick her up. Lando catches her mid jump, lifting her high in the air and twirling the two of them around before bringing her close.
“You went so fast!” She beams. “And you were so brave!”
“I had to be,” he mirrors the same smile that’s on her face. “You were watching.”
You join them when Lando walks over to you, heart full and eyes welled with happy tears. Lando leans in to kiss you and you meet him halfway.
“She didn’t take her eyes off of you the whole time,” you murmur against his lips.
“She's just like you, then.” He gives you a cheeky grin. You roll your eyes but still wrap an arm around his waist, hugging the two most important people in your life, surrounded by victory and love.
Maryn tucks her head into the nape of Lando’s neck, cheek pressed against his race suit as she softly mutters, “I want to be fast, too. Just like you.”
“You will be, princess. One day.”
—
It’s late by the time you get home.
Your little girl is barefoot the second she gets through the door, padding down the hall to her bedroom, in search of her stuffie and blanket. You and Lando follow more slowly, shoes off, bags dumped at the door, the post-race adrenaline now wearing off, but still faintly buzzing in your limbs.
Lando yawns as he drops down to the couch, one arm draped over the backrest as the other lays across his belly. “I think I aged six years today.”
“You say that after every race,” you laugh, making your way to the kitchen. You grab a glass of water and lean your back against the counter, watching as he runs a tired hand down his face.
Maryn returns with her blanket trailing behind her on the floor and a half-eaten bag of popcorn she must’ve hid somewhere in her bedroom. “Movie time,” she declares and plops herself down next to her dad like she owns the house. At this point, she kind of does.
Lando raises a brow at you, helping her pull the blanket over her legs. “You approve of this?”
“She’s almost three. She doesn’t ask for approval.”
Maryn hums contently as she rests against Lando in her usual manner— one arm draped across his stomach, cheek pressed against his chest. “You won today.”
Lando kisses the top of her head. “That’s right. And who cheered the loudest?”
“Me,” she mumbles through her best battle against sleep.
You cross the room and join them, tucking your legs beneath yourself as you sit next to the two of them. None of you say anything for a while, letting the TV play a replay of the race on low volume as you closely observe every move. Maryn eventually stills completely, asleep, face soft and peaceful.
Lando’s still absentmindedly playing with the ends of her curls when he says, “I used to think winning was the best part of this,” he nudges his chin at the TV.
“And now?” You raise a curious brow.
“Now it’s this,” he leans his head back against the couch, eyes half-lidded as exhaustion tugs at his features. “Coming home to you two. Even when there’s popcorn crumbs all over me and my back hurts.”
You shake your head with a laugh, softly nudging his thigh with your foot. “You’re getting soft, y’know.”
“Probably am.” He looks at you— tired but content—and adds, “still wouldn’t change a thing.”

Janis ‘Imi’ike x burnt out troubled kid reader where readers parents kick them out again and reader doesn’t want to come to their friends with their troubles so they try to stay away from everyone.
Be Alright
Janis ‘Imi’ike x gn! reader
Warnings: fluff, angst, some coarse language, underage drinking + driving, implied depression, mentions of death due to illness
In which, reader is way too independent and doesn’t like asking for help. Even when they really need it
“y/n, talk to me.”
“No. I’m fine. I’m just tired, I slept at 3a.m. last night.”
You hung up on Janis, tossing your phone aside and just closed your eyes.
~~~~~
“Hey, I haven’t seen you at school today. What’s going on?”
“Uh, I— I have the flu so I’m at home.” You admitted painfully.
“Oh, I’ll be by soon with some soup.”
“You don’t have to—”
“I’ll be there very soon.”
~~~~~
“Hey.” Janis nudged you from the back and you got startled awake.
“What time did you get to sleep last night?” She asks, you rested your head on folded arms.
“I don’t know.” You answered incoherently, “4?”
“What?”
“I don’t know the exact time okay? I drank last night.”
~~~~~
Your Mom has just picked you up from the police station after you arrested for drinking and driving. It was just after 3a.m.— you were tired, so was she. She was angry and so were you. The tension was high and even in your state, you could see that she’s had it with you.
“y/n, this is the third time this has happened.” She sighs while pulling up in the driveway of your house, “I’m sick of bailing you out of these things all the time. What is it with you? Why do you always get yourself in such situations?”
You didn’t say anything but just got out of the car. “I’m afraid I’m gonna have to kick you out. Until you show that you’re actually going to change for the better instead of harming yourself all the time. Your grades are slipping, you barely sleep, you skip school so often. Why?”
“Fuck it.”
Your Mom takes a deep breath, biting the inside of her cheek. She was about to ask you to talk about everything that was bothering you but then she just…“Yeah, okay. Fuck it!” Your Mom yelled back, “Pack up and leave, right now.”
Holding back tears, you ran into the house to pack a bag. Your stepfather stops you when he saw you running up the stairs to asked you what happened but you just ignored him, swallowing the tears. After hastily putting as much as you could into your backpack, you left the house without saying a word to either of your parents.
You made your way to Janis’, angry, terrified and heartbroken. Stepping onto her porch, you rang the doorbell. You saw a shadow in the window of Janis’ room— she was awake. Then, it disappeared before the front door swung open and you came face to face with her. “y/n.” She was shocked to see you like this— red-faced, unkempt, teary-eyed. “Come in, baby.”
You followed her lead up to her bedroom quietly. You sat down on her bed and she shuts the door behind herself. “What happened?” She asked gently, pulling her desk chair up to sit before you.
“My Mom kicked me out. Said she was done with me getting into trouble.” You told her curtly.
“Did you drink again?” She asks you hesitantly. You look at her and tried not to roll your eyes but eventually admitted that you had indeed been drinking— and driving. That was your final strike.
“I just miss my Dad, Jan.” You revealed, you couldn’t help it but sniffle.
Your Dad— not your stepfather. The guy who was your biggest role model and cheerleader — the guy who promised that he’d always be there for you. He had passed away nearly a year ago to an aggressive form of cancer.
“How could he just—” You choked on a sob, head buried in your hands. Janis grabs your hands, her thumbs stroking your knuckles. You shook your head, as if to get rid of the thoughts. “I just— I miss him so much, and my Mom— it’s like she doesn’t even care anymore. All she cares about is her new guy.”
Janis knew. Deep down, she just knew you wouldn’t just act out for the heck of it. You did it because you wanted your Mom’s attention- her love and care. Which she has failed to give you ever since she started dating three months after your Dad passed. You flat out started refusing to talk to her about anything other than stupid stuff like the weather and the time. She’d ask how you were doing, and you just dismissively said you were okay— even on days that you weren’t. Janis knew it. But she didn’t want to push you. She was scared to push you too hard and break you even more. Janis has been trying to help you in any way she could, without you even asking. You appreciated her for it, but lately, you haven’t been showing it really well.
She got into bed with you, holding you in her arms. “You’ll be alright.” She whispers, rubbing your back, “This, I promise you. I will help you with anything you need in order to get better again. Right now, ignore your Mom and the new guy. What you need to do is focus on yourself. Finding healthy ways to cope. I know you’re feeling frustrated and angry because your Dad left so suddenly. But you know that he would never leave you if he could choose. He loves you. That’ll never change. But right now, your own life is in your hands. How you choose to live every day…are you just gonna desperately try to get your Mom to notice you all while harming your own health or are you going to live your best life, the life you’re supposed to live and continue making your Dad proud? I know for a fact that he is so proud of you— I could see it. Okay? There is no doubt in that.”
You listened to her while you laid your head in her chest, one arm around her and your other hand naturally rested on her chest near her torso. “It’s so hard.”
“I know, bubba.” Janis presses a kiss to the top of your head, “But I know I’ll go through all of it with you, just as I have been, alright? You can always come to me— for anything. I mean it, y/n. Anything.”
You nod wordlessly.
“I want you to promise me.” She added on, stroking your hair.
You locked eyes with her, taking in a deep breath, “I promise.”
“Right now, what I want you to do…is get some sleep. Think you can do that? I’ll be right here cuddling you.”
You hummed, “Yeah.”
“Good.” Janis continues stroking your hair, then went smoothly down your back, “Close your eyes. Sleep tight, y/n.”
thinking about this local halloween event i went to when i was a kid where at some point during the night the kids and adults all sat down and i think either one or a couple of people told us scary stories
i dont remember if there were multiple storytellers mainly because this one story that got told embedded itself into me so much that i basically don't remember anything else from the night besides it and the how scary it was for me
anyways i found the story again and it seems to be a camp story that got shared around also unsurprisingly it is not as scary now as it was when i was a kid but i wanted to share it anyways
the story is called "The Skeleton Lady" and it goes like this
"This story begins not too long ago and not far away. Just to the north of here there is a country where it is winter for 7 long moths of the year. Now this particular winter had gone on much longer than usual and the people were beginning to run out of food and firewood. Inside one small house right out in the barren snow lands an old lady was beginning to get anxious.
(Now you have to put on old lady and old man voices, get anxious and rub your hands a lot as if cold).
“Oh, my husband I am so cold and hungry. Look at me my hands are blue! I am going to die I am sure of it.”
“Don’t worry my darling, winter will be over soon, we will have food again” But the old lady looked very ill and continued to get anxious. Eventually the old man agreed, “Very well my darling I will go and search for food. But before I go you must promise me one thing. You must not use the last two logs we have for the fire, we will need them to cook the food on when I return”
“Okay, okay I agree just go, please find food”
With that the old man went out in search of food. Time passed and the old man did not return, the fire was beginning to get lower and lower.
Where is he? I’m hungry! I’m freezing! I am sure I will die” (rub hands a lot) Then the old lady had an idea.
“If I put just one of the logs on the fire he will be back soon and then we will still have one to cook the food with. Yes, yes that’s what I’ll do.”
The old lady picked up one log and placed it on the fire. “Oh that’s much better, I’m so warm, he’ll be back with food soon”.
The old lady forgot how hungry she was as she sat close to the warm fire. But more time passed and still her husband did not return. It was beginning to get dusk outside and again the fire was getting lower and lower.
“Where is he? He must have found food and eaten it. I am going to be left here to freeze!” (Lots of rubbing and groaning)
Then the old lady had another idea.
“He must be back soon. If I put the last log on the fire it will be hot and ready to cook on when he returns”. With that the old lady put the last log on the fire. (Make whooshing sound and cries of happiness) But more time passed and the old man was not back. The last log began to burn lower and lower until all that was left was a tiny flicker.
The old lady got closer and closer to the fire. Then suddenly “Ouch” she burnt herself on it and began to bleed. She placed the finger in her mouth to lick it (make this action)
“MMMMh this tastes good.” Then the old lady began to chew (make chewing action up hand). “Mmmm so good.” And chew, up her arm, and around her body (act all this out – lots of chewing and mmhhing noises) until all that was left was a skeleton.
“Mmhh that was so good, I feel much better but I’m still hungry.” Just at that moment she heard a rustling outside and the door opened. In came her husband with 2 rabbits in his hand.
“Look my wife I found foooo—–”
The old lady ran towards him and grabbed the rabbits. Mmmh these are good. MMhh MMhh (mime chewing rabbits) My husband I’ve just realized how meaty you are. Come here I want to eat you. I want Meat!”
With that the old man burst out the door and ran into the frozen wastelands as fast as he could. Behind him the old lady was running. “I want meat, I’m going to eat you.” Luckily the old man could run fast and began to escape his wife. He ran further and further into the snow. In the distance was the sound of the old lady.
“I want meat. I’m going to eat you!” (Each time you do this grab the arm of a member of the audience and fake chew it – you should be on your feet all the time now and miming the running actions.)
Suddenly the old man came to the edge of a huge gorge that went as far as he could see that way (look) and as far as he could see that way (look). There was no way across and coming closer was the sound of the old lady.
“I want meat. I’m going to eat you” (attack audience again)
Then the old man noticed a small wooden cottage. He ran to it and banged on the door. The door opened on a chain and a woman could be seen inside. “Yes. How can I help you?”
“It’s my wife. She’s gone crazy she’s going to eat me” (act very panicked) “Very well I will help you but first you must bring me a bucket of water.” “What, she’s going to eat me and you want water?”
“Yes”
“Okay, okay”
The old man searched around and found a bucket to get some water from the well. He took it to the woman who pulled out a ladle from her pocket and dipped it into the water.
“AAhh yes. Very good. Now I will help you”
In the distance the sound of the skeleton lady was very close “I want meat. I’m going to eat you!” (attack audience)
The woman stood on the edge of the gorge and stamped her feet into the ground. Then she reached out and stretched (say this word long and slowly as you stretch out) to the other side and grabbed onto a tree. “Now you may cross.”
The old man walked carefully across the lady’s back (mime this) and reached the other side. Then the woman let go and PING went right back to the other side. She returned to her house.
Just then the skeleton lady arrived at the gorge. “I will get you my husband. I will eat you. I want Meat!” She banged on the door of the house. “Yes. Can I help you?”
“You are too skinny to eat. You will help me cross the gorge.”
“Very well I will help you but first you must bring me a drink of water.”
“Help me now or I’ll eat you anyway.”
“Okay, Okay.”
With that the woman stood on the side of the gorge and stamped her feet into the ground. She stretched across and grabbed onto the tree. The old woman began to run across.
“I want meat. I will eat you.” When she was halfway across the woman let go and PING went back to the start.
” I want meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…..” (Fade off and then crash to ground) CRASH the skeleton lady fell to ground and shattered to a million pieces.
(Say next part of story very slowly and quietly) Now I said that I said that this happened not too long ago and not too far away. It is said that there is a little bit of magic in each piece of the skeleton lady’s bone and that one day they will join together and come in search of…‰MEAT” (jump and attack audience then end)
and thats the whole story, i personally only remembered up to the point where the old woman eats all of her skin and her husband coming back to find her like that
i actually thought that was the end but apparently it isnt! either my memory is just wrong or the one i heard was a different telling of this same story, either way it was fun reliving this little memory i have from when i was younger
This was my first ever fanfiction in total it has 18 parts, ill only be posting the next parts ❤️
Plot: the boys invite you to a bbq on your day off
(Total read on wattpad 2.84k)
Tumblr media
(Backstory)
You grew up living in Miami Florida when a boy named Stephen Gilchrist Glover... and his family moved to your street. Stephen and his big sister cindy soon became your friends and his family got along well with yours making you all quite close.
Unfortunately when Stephen turned twelve they had to move back to England his place of birth, your family kept contact through letters and you would talk to Stephen through them.
When you turned 25 you hear that stephen or as he went by steve-o had started living with his sister in Albuquerque, New Mexico so you moved into a small apartment near by to be reunited with your buddys.
Any comments at all are very appreciated and help me continue writing! :)
~yawnnn~ you stretch your arms and arch your back as you slowly sit up at 11pam on a Friday "thank fuck its Friday" you drag your body out of bed and head to the kitchen to make yourself breakfast. *ping* your phone loudly alerts a message waking you up and making you jump a little, you swiftly look over at your phone to see that johnny had messaged you.
"hey y/n I know you don't usually come down on Fridays but we are having a BBQ because its so warm..." you become aware of how warm it was, confused on how you didn't notice before "... hope you can come round!" You smile lightly at the thought that they were thinking of you. You eat your cereal and message him agreeing to come round "of course i would love to! Expect me in 2 hours"
You almost instantly scramble upstairs and look for a nice yet weather appropriate outfit "nope, nope, ew no!" You frantically look through my clothes as if it was a meet up with the queen herself "thats not too bad" you held up a black tank top and a pair of blue ripped jeans. You squint left and right, turn it around, lay it on your bed *sigh* "I guess it will have to do."  After a stressful 40 minutes of makeup and hair you were ready and looking cute as fuck.
You arrive at Johnny's house and see all the boys cars parked outside and prepare yourself for whats behind the doors. *click clack click clack* your heels make your arrival known before your anywhere near the door.
"Y/n! How you doing dude!" You were welcomed by Steve-o giving you a bear hug, this would've been nice if he didn't stink . "Sup!" You hear bam shout from the kitchen as Hes cracking open a can of beer, ryan smiles and waves whilst sitting next to bam. "Everyones out back im not sure if they know you are here yet, the BBQ is almost ready" Steve-o said, leading you out to the back of the garden where you see Johnny, Preston, Wee man, Chris, Ehren, Dave, Jeff and Spike. "Y/n!" They all collectively shout smiling at you, you got a bit flustered as youve never saw so many people so exited to see you. You wave at them red faced and can tell Johnny noticed how embarrassed you were "im almost finished the BBQ so decide what you want, okay?" Chris shouts over to you but not looking over, he was too scared to look away incase he burnt the burgers. " they're is a seat next to me if your looking for one" johnny pats the empty seat next to him and you slowly squirm my way thought the boys to get next to him, "so y/n what was you plans for today?" Wee man asks drawing the attention to you once again " i was probably just going to stay in bed and watch movies" He nods in agreement and mutters " fair, fair" Johnny passes you his beer that he drank a little out of " here you have this im not wanting it right now" you hold the bottle and wait for him to laugh or for it to explode but he was dead serious " you promise there isnt piss in here?" The whole place goes silent, even chris turned around to look at you, all you could hear was the faint laughing of bam and ryan from inside and the sizzling of the patties. All toughether they all laughed and you took a deep breath assuming this meant you were being stupid. Eventually johnny catches his breath and stares right at you " you just dont trust me huh" he snickered and lay his head back on the chair he was sitting on, something about that was so attractive, the way he said it, the way he lay his head back and the way his neck is lying out.... you caught yourself staring and your pretty sure Dave did too... oops?
Blue skies fade to grey by @xxx-cat-xxx
Summary: Peter gets sick at school, and Ned, MJ and Tony try to take care of him in their own particular ways.
Bring Your School to Work Day (ao3) - notoneforreality G, 6k
Summary: Peter Parker has never had much luck, and that's without Tony Stark interfering to make things worse. He's grateful for everything Mr Stark has done...or rather, was grateful for almost every Mr Stark had done. It was just some burnt toast! Mr Stark didn't need to go that hard on the revenge.
Peter ends up on a field trip to the Avengers Compound with his class and hopes that no-one gets involved.
Ft. memes, savagery, and wholesome family relationships
Career Day (ao3) - superhusbands4ever (Potterwatch97) G, 3k
Summary: “Hey, sorry I’m late,” Peter’s enhanced senses picked up the familiar voice from outside the door. “I had a meeting this morning and then I got lost looking for the class… anyway, I’m here for Peter? Peter Parker?”
He frowned at hearing his name, still unsure what exactly was going on. He watched as his teacher continued to stand and stare out the door for a minute before seemingly remembering herself and taking a step back.
“Of course! If you could just go sit next to him until your turn, he’s in the back on the right side.”
The man stepped through the door and Peter gaped with the rest of the class as Tony Stark, in his signature suit and goatee, sporting a pair of red sunglasses and carrying a suitcase walked through the door.
Emergency Contact (ao3) - petrakronos G, 2k
Summary: Peter figured he had to have a weakness to his spider powers, but he never expected to find out in such a brutal way. It was torturous and in a place like this of all places for this to happen. He wished the universe would take him now.
Sick in second-period Spanish class. What a way to go out.
And one from me:
Graduation, Interrupted (ao3) - cazmalfoy T, 3k
Summary: As soon as he finds out about it, Tony quickly agrees to attend Peter's High School graduation.
Of course, the Avengers are then called on a mission, threatening Tony's ability to keep his promise.
In Case of Emergency (ao3) - aliaoftwoworlds G, 4k
Summary: 5 times Tony goes to Peter’s school and the 1 time Peter’s class visits Stark Industries.
Tony Stark, Chaperone Extraordinaire (ao3) - CaptainStarSong N/R, 4k
Summary: After Aunt May has to cancel last minute on being a chaperone for Peter's school trip to Liberty Science Center, Tony Stark (Good Dad™) steps in to save the day. (Featuring adorable Cotton Top Tamarins, Flash being put into his place, and slightly awkward but honestly trying Tony Stark.)
Vein Drain (ao3) - ciaconnaa G, 2k
Summary: Peter Parker faints at Midtown’s annual Halloween themed blood drive. Tony Stark gets called to pick him up.
What Do Sick Teenagers Do? by natasha_alianovna_romanoff G, 5k
Summary: When Peter gets suddenly ill at school and May is out of the city for work, his teachers don’t know what to do with him. Tony is sure they handled it wrong. But how do you handle a sick teenager?
Basically the classic sick Peter trope with lots of irondad and poor Peter being completely out of it.
you’re still young (that’s not your fault) (ao3) - tonystarkstan T, 6k
Summary: Five times Tony goes to Peter’s school and one time Peter goes with him to work.
¿Cómo se dice ‘I’m in Deep Sh*t’? (ao3) - whumphoarder G, 3k
Summary: Due to unforeseen circumstances (and a bit of procrastination), Peter runs out of time to prepare for his Spanish presentation and ends up faking sick to buy himself some more.
He just wasn’t really counting on Tony being the one to pick him up from school.
melting fire
Bela had never been so hot before.
Delirious and fever-stricken, she squirmed on her bed, desperately trying to escape the burning heat inside of her. It was like she was laying in the hot sand of a desert, slowly being fried by the sun that wasn’t there. Because she was in her bedroom, shrouded by dim shadows, and the only light was coming from a singular gas lamp on her desk, flickering faint yellow-gold across the floor. But it was so hot, the blankets like plains of fire on her skin, doing little to bring her any comfort.
A soft moan managed to escape Bela’s flaking lips. Her mouth was dry, tongue like burnt coals. She desperately needed water--not even blood, but nice, cold water--but she couldn’t get up. She could barely even move aside from her twisting and turning in a vain attempt to get comfortable.
Her breath came out thin, reedy, and too-hot. She thought she could spout flames, maybe. She had to be burning alive.
There was a squeak as her bedroom door creaked open. She pried open her heavy eyelids to see two silhouettes creeping towards her bed. She instinctively bared her teeth and spat at the trespassers, too weak to raise her claws to defend herself.
“Someone is cranky,” teased a voice.
Wait-- she knew that voice.
Bela settled as her sisters perched on the edge of the bed.
“Sorry,” she rasped, her voice weak and hoarse from illness. “I’m kinda delirious.”
“Kinda?” Cassandra raised an amused eyebrow. “Do you know what you were doing before you passed out earlier?”
“Do I want to know?” Bela asked nervously.
Daniela helpfully supplied her with details: “You were all wobbly and Mother set a hand on your shoulder and said it was to keep you from falling. Your response was, ‘It’s okay, five-second rule.’”
Bela’s face flushed red--redder than it already was than her fever. “Oh--”
Daniela didn’t relent: “And then you started stroking Mother’s arm hair and said, ‘You’d make such a good carpet.’”
“Okay, that’s enou--”
“You also said, ‘my bones feel wet, may I have a napkin?’”
“Daniela--”
“Oh, and we can’t forget, while at breakfast and you were still trying to act like you were okay: ‘Coffee doesn’t taste like coffee, but it sure does taste like brown.’”
“Okay, okay!” Bela yelped, then coughed into her blankets. “I get it. I was out of it.”
“Very out of it,” Cassandra said, stroking her claws through Bela’s sweaty hair. Bela, rationalizing that she couldn’t get any more embarrassed than she already was, leaned her head into her sister’s touch, letting out a soft purr of contentment. Cassandra’s talons were nimble and uncharacteristically gentle against her burning scalp.
“Where is Mother?” Bela asked.
“Aww, are we not good enough company for you, Beli?” Daniela teased playfully.
“I didn’t say that!” Bela squeaked. She hunched her shoulders in. “I was just wondering.”
“Somewhere around here,” Cassandra said vaguely. “She’ll probably come to check on you soon.”
Bela nodded sluggishly. Her head was beginning to fill with fog again. “Alright…” she murmured.
“Aww,” Daniela cooed. “She’s getting all silly again.” She reached out and lightly dragged her claws down one of Bela’s clammy cheeks, probably thinking she was being comforting, when really her touch was just ticklish.
Bela bared her teeth at her, though she barely opened her eyes. “Shut it.”
Daniela tittered.
“Well, we’ll let you rest,” Cassandra said, tugging on Daniela’s arm.
“Sleep well!” Daniela said as she was pulled out of the room.
“Thanks,” Bela replied.
The door shut and she was left in darkness once again.
Bela rolled onto her side and curled up in her blankets. A moment later, she rolled onto her other side, but it did little to help her discomfort. Her body was aching all over and no position was good enough.
Outside, the wind was howling. Another snowstorm was blowing in, loud and powerful. She turned over again to watch the snowfall. The snowflakes flew like dozens of little whiteflies behind the glass, twisting and twirling through the air. It made her think of her own flies, and she broke off a piece of her skin into a cluster of insects. She was desperately lonely and wanted something to interact with since she didn’t have her sisters or mother there with her.
With blurry eyes, Bela watched dazedly as her insects flew around her head. She held out a finger and they lined up on it in a perfect arrangement: blowfly, flesh fly, dogbane beetle, Spanish fly, black vine weevil, drain fly, green bottle fly, clothes moth, click beetle, room spinning, ears ringing, eyes shutting…
Bela’s head jerked back when she began to nod off, sending her bugs into a scattering cloud of frantic wingbeats. She blinked her eyes furiously, but it did little to dispel the fuzziness over everything. It was like she was looking underwater. She rubbed her heavy eyelids, and moving her arms was like trying to move solid beams of lead.
Her fever flared. She moaned weakly in pain.
Her skin was baking, boiling right off of her bones. Her limbs were sacks of heated stones and smoldering embers that she had to drag around with her, and her ears simply felt like they were lit on fire. Her cheeks felt like someone was holding hot iron to the sides of her face and wouldn’t let go, no matter how loud she screamed.
To put it simply, she was like a roasted lamb on a spit, rotating slowly above hungry flames. Sometimes, she had fallen into their orange-gold mouths. She could almost feel the flaming tongues licking at her skin…
Bela squirmed, whining faintly. She couldn’t handle this. She couldn’t take this heat. She used to think the cold was bad, but this-- this was just awful.
She had to escape it.
As though beckoning her, the blizzard howled.
Bela raised her head--which was rather difficult, as it felt like it weighed a ton--and squinted. The snow usually wasn’t very enticing, but something about it now seemed to call to her. It was inviting her to join its cool embrace, promising to soothe her raging fever. She had to oblige to it.
Sliding out of bed, Bela staggered towards the window. The glass was cool against her palms when she pressed her hands to it, but felt even better on her burning forehead. She let out a sigh of relief as the chill invaded her, but it wasn’t good enough. She needed more. She needed to be rid of this fire inside of her.
Bela pushed against the window. It didn’t budge. She whined and pushed harder. It still didn’t budge. Mother kept them locked for good reason, but Bela needed to get out now. She felt like she was being cremated and didn’t know how much longer she could handle it.
Finally, after a few moments of desperate struggling, the window relented under her assault and she was embraced by the soothing cold. It didn’t hurt as much as she thought it would. It felt…nice.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Bela relaxed her body and shut her eyes to rest.
--- --- ---
Alcina was alerted by the sound of glass shattering. She had been idly flipping through a book when she heard the horrendous smashing sound. Instantly, she snapped to her feet and began striding down the hallway until she got to Bela’s room. Upon opening the door, she was greeted by a blast of cold air, which was as freezing as the black ice that suddenly sprinted through her veins.
“Bela?” Alcina shouted. Stepping inside, she noticed that the window was broken open and her eldest daughter was nowhere to be seen. “Bela?!”
Alcina rushed over to the crater created in the glass and looked out. Despite the darkness of the night, she could still distinctly make out the figure of Bela in the snow below.
She didn’t look like she was moving.
“Bela!!”
Alcina ran out of the room, where she was promptly met by her other two daughters. They both instantly leaped away from the doorway with yelps when the cold wind brushed against their legs. She quickly shut the door.
“Mother, what happened?” Cassandra asked.
“Stay here,” Alcina said instead of answering. She then turned and sprinted down the hallway and outside, nearly clipping her head on the doorframe.
When she found Bela, she may have been more concerned about her falling from the second-story window if it wasn’t for how leached her skin was. Her eldest daughter was icy to the touch, her skin as brittle as weak glass in the unforgiving cold. Alcina scooped her up into her arms, holding her close to her chest to protect her from the vicious lashing of the snowstorm as she carried her back inside.
Bela had been out there for less than three minutes, but Alcina’s mind was still running in panicked circles. Was it enough to kill Bela? Was her baby girl about to die in her arms? Alcina’s heart seized at the mere thought of losing one of her daughters. She frantically went over her own notes in her head: the flies generally began hibernating at temperatures below ten degrees Celsius, and it was definitely below ten degrees Celsius out there. When that happens, their metabolism drops and they go into a state of lethargy, which then causes extreme weakness and fatigue. There was also the pain and sensitivity that came from the cold, and though Bela didn’t seem like she was in freezing agony, Alcina still couldn’t be too sure.
It was then that Bela stirred, and Alcina snapped her head down. Bela was squirming in her arms, whining ever so faintly. She didn’t seem to be in pain, she just seemed distressed and very uncomfortable.
“Mother,” Bela panted. “Please--”
“It’s alright now, my love,” Alcina said, carrying Bela over to one of the many fireplaces in the castle, swiping up a blanket folded over a cushioned chair as she went. “It’s alright. I’ve got you.” She squeezed her daughter close to her chest, not quite realizing that she may have been smothering her. “It’s okay. Mother’s here now.”
“No-- no--” Bela tried to wiggle out of her grasp, but she was much too weak. “Hot-- too hot--”
Alcina frowned. She had been wondering how and why Bela got outside, but now it made sense.
Was her fever really that bad?
“You can’t be cold, darling,” Alcina said, crouching down in front of the fire, not releasing Bela from her vice. She wrapped her in the blanket, despite her wriggling. Under her touch, Bela's skin was still worryingly frigid and dry. She hoped the snow wouldn't leave blisters. “You must stay warm.”
“No--” Bela’s claws tugged feebly at Alcina’s dress. If it weren’t caused by illness, then it may have been cute. “Mother, please…”
Alcina sighed. She shifted Bela into one arm (it wasn’t exactly hard to do) and brushed her sweaty hair out of her face. Bela leaned into the touch, her eyelids fluttering shut. She purred faintly.
“You need to be warm,” Alcina told her. As hard as it was to resist her child’s begging, she couldn’t just go throw Bela out into the snow. She had to keep her near the fire, where her body could go back to its normal temperature.
Alcina cupped the back of Bela’s head and pressed her face into her neck, rocking her slowly. She should have kept a better eye on her. She should have been there, taking care of her. Now an awful chill had taken lodge in her precious daughter’s body and she was worried that it wasn’t going to come out.
“Mother?”
Alcina turned to see Cassandra and Daniela. They both looked simultaneously curious and worried.
“Is Bela okay?” Daniela asked.
“She will be,” Alcina answered, holding Bela closer until she was holding onto her like a baby koala bear. She was hoping her body heat would help dispel the ice inside of Bela’s own being. “Your sister thought it would be a good idea to break her window and go out into the snow.”
“I’m hot,” Bela whined. She quickly followed her words up with a purr as Alcina stroked her hair.
Daniela giggled. “Beli, I thought you were the smart one!”
“‘M gonna…turn you into a ceiling fan,” Bela growled without opening her eyes. “But…too tired… Maybe later…”
Daniela giggled again. Cassandra snorted into her hand. Even Alcina, despite her worry, couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Darlings, can you get a wet rag for me?” Alcina asked her other two daughters.
Bela chuffed against her neck.
“A moderately cold one. But not too cold. Just slightly below lukewarm. Please.”
Cassandra and Daniela both nodded and raced off to retrieve the item before the other.
Slowly, the cold was draining from Bela’s body, chased away by the tag-team effort of the fire and Alcina’s body heat. Her fever, however, quickly became apparent once again, searing right through the back of her gown and into Alcina’s hand while she rubbed up and down her spine. No wonder she had broken a window just to get outside; she was burning up.
“I’m sorry for not keeping a better eye on you,” Alcina said, shifting her daughter in her arms. “I should have been watching you to make sure this never happened. Though, I never expected you to break a window…”
“Not your fault,” Bela said, her breath hot against Alcina’s neck. “I was being stupid.”
Alcina leaned her back slightly, cupping the back of her head with one hand. “Are you slightly more awake now?”
“A little,” Bela said, her eyes glassy and half-lidded. “Feel like I’m on fire, though…”
Alcina frowned and tucked Bela back against her. She worriedly ran her fingers through Bela’s hair, which was damp with a mix of sweat and melted snow.
“I’m sorry I can’t do more for you, my darling,” Alcina said. “Damn, why did you and your sisters have to be weak to the cold? I would run you an ice bath if that didn’t put you at the risk of--” She didn’t finish that sentence. She shook her head. “Why flies? Why something that can’t survive in the cold? Why not something like-- like-- like birds!”
“Better than being hurt by heat,” Bela pointed out. “Then the fever probably would have killed me already.”
Alcina winced. “I suppose you’re right.”
“‘Course I am. ‘M the smart one.”
That got a small chuckle out of Alcina. “Your hubris is showing, darling.”
“No, yours is,” Bela mumbled, drifting off into a feverish, half-awake daze of slurring and purring.
Despite her remaining worry, Alcina couldn’t help but chuckle once again. She rocked Bela slowly until Cassandra and Daniela returned with the rag, Daniela being the one to present it to her. She thanked them, then shifted Bela in her arms so she could wipe her face down with it. Bela shuddered at the cold water on her heated skin, but let out a soft coo of pleasure.
“Thank you,” Bela whispered, cracking open her eyes slightly.
Alcina gave her a tender smile. “You’re welcome. Now, rest, my sweet girl. I will watch over you until you feel better.”
Afterward, she would make arrangements to strengthen the windows.
Yandere Zim X Male Reader? There isn't many out there, and I sort of had a song in mind if you would like to listen: Rory by Foxing.
Tumblr media
You got it, friend!
Be warned: There are themes of unrequited love, wasps and a graphic depiction of wasp stings ahead!
Here's the song that was used btw
From the moment he met you, Zim found himself captivated by you.
From your gentle eyes to your kind soul, Zim found you utterly fascinating.
You were nothing like any of the other humans! You weren’t ugly, and you didn’t even stink!
You may have been friends with Dib but that didn’t stop you from sticking up for him whenever Dib tried to expose him!
At first, Zim decided to use you as a good source of information as well as a way to keep up appearances without drawing too much attention to himself.
However, the more time he spent with you, Zim started to feel…strange to say the least.
His PAK would spark around you and his squeedilyspooch felt like it was tied up in knots!
“Computer! What are these HORRIBLE feelings inside of me?! What has that Y/N-human done to Zim?!” Zim demanded as he pointed to the ceiling.
“WELL….UM…”
“C’mon spit it out already!”
“WELL IT SEEMS THAT YOU HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE…”
Zim’s jaw hit the ground.
“WHAT?! ME?! IN LOVE?! WITH A HUMAN?! IMPOSSIBLE! Preform a full body bioscan!”
Zim’s computer sighed as a few mechanical tentacles wrapped around Zim.
“SCANNING…SCANNING….”
After a few minutes, the tentacles retracted,
“BIOSCAN COMPLETE. NO ILLNESSES DETECTED.”
“N-No! No! This can’t be! No invader can even experience love! Especially not for the enemy! What am I going to do?! ARGH! Computer! Create an antidote for my love illness!” Zim commanded as he tugged on his antennas.
“UM THERE REALLY ISN’T A CURE…”
“LIES!! Surely there has to be some way to get rid of these HORRIBLE FEELINGS!” Zim wailed dramatically.
“WELL…THERE IS ONE WAY TO GET RID OF THEM..”
“What are you waiting for! Tell me! Tell me the solution!!” Zim demanded as his voice quivered a bit.
“THE ONLY WAY YO GET RID OF YOUR FEELINGS IS TO ASK Y/N OUT..” The computer lied
“WHAT?! YOU WANT ZIM TO DATE THE ENEMY?! ARE YOU INSANE?!”
“Nyeh!”
Zim’s tirade was interrupted by Minimoose.
“Stay out of this, Minimoose! This doesn’t concern you!”
“Nyeh!”
“Aww! It’s sweet that you care about your master but don’t worry, Zim will be fine!”
“Nyeh!”
“Eh?! Ask Y/N out on a date to keep up appearances?! Never! didn’t I already make it clear that was a bad idea?! There’s no way I’d possibly show that kind of weakness to the enemy. But what if…”
Zim hummed for a moment as he stroked his chin.
“I’ve got it! I’ll ask Y/N out on a date to keep up appearances! Yes…I’ll simply use these feelings as a way to appear more normal so I can continue my mission!”
Minimoose was a bit annoyed but happily encouraged his master
“Nyeh!”
“I think you’re cool too, Minimoose! Now then, how to woo Y/N…Maybe one of those love note thingys.” Zim muttered to himself as he begin typing away at his keyboard.
After a few minutes of typing, Zim cracked a wicked smile.
“Excellent! With this loove note there’s no way Y/N could possibly resist my proposal!”
Zim burst into maniacal laughter as he printed the note.
“Now all thats left to do is deliver it!”
“OOOH!! OHHH!!! CAN I BRING THE NOTE TO RACECAR?!!” GIR squealed as he reached for the note.
“No GIR! I’m not going to risk this note getting damaged because of you!” Zim snapped as he snatched away the note.
GIR did like that answer.
He let out a loud shriek and threw himself to the ground.
He begun to kick and cry as loud as his voice chip would let him.
“ENOUGH! You may deliver the note to Y/N!” Zim grumbled as he held out the note.
“YAY!!!!!!!”
And with that, GIR grabbed the note with his mouth and flew off with it.
“Ugh, I better make sure GIR doesn’t ruin all of my hard work.” Zim huffed as he threw on his disguise and followed after GIR.
It wasn’t long before GIR managed to find you.
You were sitting on a bench in the park next to Dib, who seemed nervous about something.
“Dib? Are you ok? You’re acting kinda…twitchy”
“Twitchy? I’m not twitchy! Heh! It’s just um…the air! Yeah the air is really cold today!” Dib lied as he rubbed the back of his head.
“Dib it’s almost June. It’s like 88 degrees out here. What’s really going on?” You pressed as you gave Dib a sympathetic look.
Dib looked down at his feet and took in a deep breath.
“Ok, I’ll tell you but you have to promise you won’t be grossed out by me.”
“Dib, you’re my best friend! Not even hunting the most disgusting cryptid can make me grossed out by you!” You reassured with a chuckle.
Dib took in another deep breath as he turned to face you
“Y/N, I know we’ve been friends for like a really long time now and….well….”
“Well what?”
Dib swallowed thickly as he tugged at his shirt collar
“I think I might want to be more than friends!”
Dib’s words flew out a mile a minute before he clamped a hand over his mouth.
“Wait?! Are you serious?!” Your eyes lit up a bit.
“Gah! I knew this was a bad idea! Just forget I said anything!” Dib whimpered as he buried his face in his hands.
“No no! I’m actually really happy you told me that, Dib! Because…I want to be more than friends too!” You reassured as you put a hand on his shoulder.
Dib looked up at you and blinked in shock.
“Wait? Really?”
“Yes really! I’ve actually been wanting to ask you out for a while but I wasn’t sure if you felt the same.” You admitted sheepishly as you rubbed the back of your head.
“What?! You had feelings for me this whole time?! And you didn’t even- You know what? Who cares? All that matters is that we both feel the same about each other! Right?” Dib still seemed a bit skeptical.
“Exactly! That’s the spirit!” You cheered as you threw your arms in the air, smacking poor GIR out of the sky.
THUMP!
SPLOOSH!
GIR fell face first into a puddle, soaking Zim’s love note.
However it wouldn’t have mattered whether or not the love note was in tact. For Zim had witness the entire exchange between you and Dib and was devastated.
He let out a pained chuckle as he grabbed the soggy note from GIR’s mouth.
Zim was about to confront Dib when-
BONK!
THUMP!
Zim had walked right into s tree, causing a wasp nest to fall right on his head.
Zim let out a blood curdling scream as the wasps begun to attack him from all directions!
Soon he began to run amok, with more wasps trailing behind him!
It wasn’t long before Zim managed to make it back to his base.
Two robotic arms came down from the ceiling,
POP!
They pulled the wasp nest off of Zim’s head and chucked it out into the front yard.
Zim let out a pained groan as his grotesquely swollen face throbbed with wasp venom and glowing green pus.
The robotic arms carefully peeled off Zim’s disguise and another arm carried him down to his lab.
After a refreshing chemical shower, Zim’s face had returned to normal!
However, while his face had healed, his feelings were still in shambles.
He picked up the note and went back up to the kitchen.
Zim sunk to his knees as he shakily held the soggy note in his hands.
“I wrote you a letter, asked my robot to send it but it took to the sea before you could’ve read it…”
Zim’s grip tightened on the note as a few tears trickled down his cheeks.
“Retreated to snow capped waters of the unknown. Extracted my soul straight from my body! but glowing and red…And I swear that sweat would envelop your arms if you broke down and held it!”
“I swear I’m a good man-“ -Zim took in a heavy breath- “-I swear I’m a good man…”
Zim sniffled a bit,
“So why don’t you love me back?”
He looked down at the note in his hands.
“So why don’t you love me back?”
Zim let out a deep growl as he chucked the soggy note into the window.
“Instead of twisting up words you just say there in silence! In wind burnt homes sighing rays from a sunset!”
Zim rose to his feet and stormed towards the window.
As he peeled the soggy note off the window, he couldn’t help but notice that the wasp nest was still in the front yard.
“And all I could hear was the sound of the wasp nest, my head made a home for the hum of the insects!”
Zim took another glance down at the soggy note he had peeled off the window.
“But my hands shake and shudder at the mention of half written reasons we’ll only be friends!”
Zim’s fist curled around the note and punched the window.
“I swear I’m a good man…. I swear I’m a good man…”
Zim squeezed his eyes shut and let out a sob
“So why don’t you love me back?”
His hand slid down the window.
“So why don’t you love me back?!”
Zim threw the soggy note to the ground and stomped on it
“So why don’t you love me back?!”
He threw his head to the ceiling and shrieked
“So why don’t you love me back?!”
He clutched the sides of his head and wailed his plea once again,
“So why don’t you love me back?!”
Zim melted back down to his knees.
“So why don’t you love me back….”
A louder sob racked his body as Zim felt his world crash down around him.
How humiliating.
He was Irk’s finest invader! How could he be so wounded by one pitiful human?!
No, pitiful wasn’t the right word to describe you. In truth, Zim felt that handsome was a better fit.
Despite how devastated he was, Zim still couldn’t stop wanting you.
The need for your love sparked a fire deep within him.
The fire burned violently throughout Zim’s body! Pulling him out of his depression and making him more confident than ever!
Zim wanted you for some much more than appearances!
He wanted you to be his and his alone!
By taking you away from him, Dib had just made the biggest mistake of his life.
Zim let out a thunderous maniacal laugh as he raised his hands to the ceiling!
He put his disguise back on, grabbed a blaster, and hopped into his Voot.
“Prepare yourself, foolish Dib-monkey! I am coming to reclaim what’s rightfully mine! You shall rue the day you took Y/N away from Zim!”
————
“Oh, hello Hendery..”
“Hello, Mr. Hyde..”
“And how did it go today..with the Mayor?”
“That’s none of your concern, Hyde. Leave it to me.”
The dark voice lets out a haunting chuckle. “Hendery..what would you like me to do?”
“Nothing! I said, it’s none of your concern!” Hendery slams his hand down onto the counter.
“But it’s our lab, isn’t it?”
Hendery cups his face as he breaks down to tears. “Why?! Why won’t you leave me alone?!”
“Oh..Hendery, you can’t get rid of me, no matter what crazy toxins you concoct. I’ll be here, I’ll always be here.”
———
“I don’t see what my difference my presence here makes..” You roll your eyes and step out of your father’s black SUV.
The driver closes the door behind you while your father takes your hand in his and waves to the crowd with the other.
Today, you’ve joined him for a fundraising event in City Hall. The program is designed to bring awareness to a Missing Persons Search Team Fund. Lately, people have been going missing at an alarming rate and your father, the Mayor, is unsure of what to do about it. The police and volunteering citizens had done the best they could to conduct thorough search parties but no one was ever found. These people varied in age and description so there was no way to formulate a possible killer’s profile.
Your father initiated a curfew for everyone to abide by until they found the missing people and the kidnapper..dead or alive.
You were a college student and your institution was about two hours away, but your father didn’t feel safe and insisted on you staying at home while taking classes online. You did as he said, for you knew that this must’ve been difficult for him, considering your own dealings with the death of your mother. She was found murdered in an alleyway a few years ago, prompting a change in your father’s life. He was determined to become a leading figure in society that would bring down the city’s crime rate. And it worked...until now.
“The more people we have on board, the faster we find these people and the better I look, the better OUR family looks.” He whispered into your ear while displaying a wide smile to his “fans.”
You smiled as well and nodded.
And so, you found yourself seated at a round table by yourself as your father spoke with other leaders, sergeants, politicians, and the fund creators.
And what difference did your presence make? Nothing.
You scrolled through your phone and huffed. You saw pictures of your friends back at college. There had been a Halloween party the night before and they all posted pictures of themselves in their costumes looking drunk and happy.
You were jealous to say the least. You just wanted a normal life, but now even Halloween was canceled because of the curfew your father put in place.
You didn’t notice that a slender man with brown hair sat down beside you as you pouted.
“You must be so bored..” His low voice spoke.
You looked up at him and smiled. “Hi..yeah, I am very bored.”
The man in a nice dress shirt and tie laughed and then you realized you may have insulted one of the organizers.
“Oh!” You sat up straight in your chair and put your phone down. “I’m so sorry..I didn’t mean to offend—“
“Oh..of course not, sweetheart. I’m quite bored myself.”
Sweetheart. The way that word left his lips made your heart tremble.
You nodded and stared at his heart-shaped lips, maybe a little too long. “I see..” You looked away. “My name is y/n..the mayor is..”
“Your father..yes, is that the only reason for you being here?” He tilted his head while smirking.
You looked to the side and hesitated. You looked up to him with wide eyes.
“Y-yes, I’m sorry but—“
“Don’t be sorry, my name is Dr. Wong, but you can call me Hendery.”
Your mouth fell open. He looked like he was your age, but he already had a doctoral degree? You were stunned.
“I know..I’m kinda young, but I skipped a few grades.”
Your eyes widened. “Wow! That’s so cool, what do you do?”
Hendery smiled when you looked shocked by his title and complimented him. “I’m the leading chemical engineer at the WCT Lab..”
You gasped, WCT lab was responsible for breakthrough advancements in technology as well as medical advancements. That was what your city was primarily known for. And for this young man to be the leading engineer was amazing. Why was he sitting with you, a college student? Surely, you were only insulting his intelligence.
Hendery was pleased by your surprised look once again, he felt a sense of pride.
“Dr. Wong, I mean, Hendery..that’s amazing! You guys have done some wonderful things at that lab. Well..of course, you already know that.”
You closed your eyes. Oh how dumb you must’ve sounded to him.
But Hendery only adored you even more when you got flustered.
“It’s okay, y/n..It happens all the time. People don’t expect that from me, someone that’s just 21 years old, to be the head of all projects.”
You nodded, then looked to your father who was still speaking with several men and women of importance surrounding him.
“Why aren’t you up there with him?” You turned back to Hendery. “You’re just as important as them.”
Hendery glanced up at your father then back at you. Something about his gaze felt..good. His eyes were intense but made you feel like it was just the two of you in the room. You felt warm as you saw his shirt hug his biceps as he leaned forward.
“My presence doesn’t make a difference either, but it does make me look good.” He gave a wink as his smile widened.
Your face became warm.
“I’ll tell you what..come with me for a moment, I’m going to show you a cool trick.”
He stood up and held his hand out for you to take. You held it and smoothed your dress down as you stood up.
Hendery thought you were beautiful, unlike anyone else. You were like a butterfly with a unique pattern of vibrant colors on its wings. Your touch was delicate like one too.
He took you to the kitchen in the hall. No one was there but the two of you.
You stood by the island in the center.
“What are we doing here?”
“Are you nervous?” Hendery shuffled through the freezer.
“No..” You lied as you looked around for the closest knife to pick up just in case he tried anything.
“The knives are to your right.” He called out, as if hearing your thoughts.
You chuckled and leaned against the counter while feeling embarrassed.
“Okay, so I’ve got some ice..” He placed a few ice cubes onto the countertop and then reached over for the salt dispenser.
“And some salt..”
You nodded, unsure of where he was going with this. “Okay.”
“Now, hold your hand out.” He smiled at you again.
Your brows furrowed but you did as he said.
He placed his hand over yours. Your skin was smooth and warm, his touch was gentle as he slowly traced his fingertips over your knuckles.
He stood so close to you, you could feel his breath on your forehead.
Your eyes grew as a silent moment rested between the two of you, you looked up at him as if no one had ever held your hand before.
He cleared his throat and looked away from your eyes and to your hand. “I’m going to put some salt in your palm, then I’m going to place ice on it, simple right?”
You nodded.
Hendery smiled again and glanced down at your lips.
“Alright..good.”
He poured the salt out then put about three ice cubes into your hand.
“Now, close your hand.”
You do as he says and after a few seconds you wince in pain.
A burning feeling shoots through your hand, you open your palm out and shake the ice to the floor.
“Oh my God, Hendery! What the hell was that?” You look up in pain.
Hendery laughs.
“You see, salt lowers the melting point of ice..hence why you briefly experienced the burning sensation.”
“I could’ve gotten frostbite!”
Hendery only laughed harder. “Y/n...you wouldn’t be so stupid as to let it stay long enough for that...but I am.”
You looked up at him questioningly.
He poured salt out into his own hand and placed ice onto it.
He shut his hand and smiled. You watched him intensely. How could he endure this type of pain for so long?
“Hendery..that’s enough, you should stop now.”
You go to grab his hand, but he turns.
“No, no, I’m fine, I promise.”
“Surely, that must be painful, Hendery!”
“Does it impress you?” He turns when you try to open his hand again. He smirks while he watches you freak out.
“No..no! It doesn’t, it’s freaking me out actually!”
Hendery pouts with his hand still closed. “Oh no..I wanted to impress the pretty girl.”
You shook your head. “Let me see your hand.”
He turns again.
“Hendery!”
“I’ll let you see it, if you let me take you out some time.”
You tilted your head. “Oh my God, that’s why you did this? Hendery..why didn’t you just ask?” You peel his hand open and see red, burnt skin. Several lesions have been created.
Your eyes widened but Hendery only adores your face while you hold his hand.
“So is that a yes?” He pays no attention to the burns on his palm, knowing that they’d go away soon enough if he just drank the right thing for it.
“You’re crazy, but yes, you can take me out.”
————
[Two Days Later]
You and Hendery swapped phone numbers later that night. You agreed to go to the street art fair where you would walk around and learn more about each other.
Hendery waved to you as he walked over to the entrance.
He looked cooler now, in a flannel and jeans while aviator sunglasses covered his eyes.
His hair had a slight wave to it and hung more loosely than it did the first time you met.
“Hey Doc, how’s your hand?”
Hendery held his palm out to you and to your surprise, you saw nothing that would indicate he had burned himself just two days prior. His palm looked normal.
“W-what?”
“All healed up, I told you I’d be fine.”
He smirked then took your hand and led you through the gate.
The fair was calm, you got to talk about your major in college and why you were home this year.
Hendery told you that he got his degree overseas and came back here to help your town. He said that he always felt drawn to it for it needed so much assistance, he felt he was the one to help.
You liked his dedication to his craft, but even more, you liked watching him talk about it. His eyes were shielded from you, but even then you could tell that he was passionate and in love with his work.
“Well..I guess it’s time to go home..gotta get back before curfew.”
You stared up at him. “You’re right. I had a—“
“Y/n! What are you doing here? I thought you were home.”
It was none other than your father. He hustled towards you. Hendery’s smile fell as he watched him walk over.
“I’ll go mad if I spend any more time in the house, dad.” You sighed and crossed your arms.
His focus shifts from you and to Hendery. “And young man, it’s nice to see you again, but what has my daughter done to warrant your presence?”
You rolled your eyes, your finger rubbed your temple.
Hendery chuckled softly. “Your daughter and I had a wonderful time today, we were just saying goodbye.”
Your father frowned and looked back at you.
“Well...goodbye then.” He stepped towards you.
You turned to leave with your father before you could be embarrassed any more. Your father was always like this since your mother died, overprotective and on guard.
“Y/n…” Hendery’s soft voice called out.
You turned back to look at him. Your face looked gorgeous in the sunset, the sun made your eyes glitter and your lips were shaped perfectly. Of all the art he had seen today, you, in this moment, were the prettiest sight he’d ever seen.
“Yes?”
“I’ll..see you later.”
You smiled and nodded. “Of course.”
When you got to your father’s car, he scolded you on how you shouldn't be interested in speaking with anyone right now, for everyone was a suspect.
“You have to be careful, no one is safe!”
You leaned your head against the window.
“I understand, father, but all of my friends are at college right now, would it really hurt if I go out every now and then?”
“Yes! Yeah it would hurt, why? Because you could go missing or lose your life!”
“Why are you so strict? He’s a nerd, what harm could he possibly do to me. I thought you’d like him, I know mom would’ve--”
You stopped when you realized what you had said. Your mom's death was something that you were both still grappling with. You tried not to speak of her, for it only made both of you more upset.
Your dad sighed, he held back tears. “Y/n..I’m sorry..I’m sorry I’m this way..Sometimes I can’t help it, but..I’m just worried, I-“
“I know, dad..let’s just go home.”
When you got inside he spoke to you again before you headed to your room. “That boy..If you want to see him again..He’ll be at the soup kitchen on Thursday, he’s always helping out there.”
You turned and smiled. “Thanks, dad.”
———-
[Thursday]
You had volunteered at the soup kitchen a few times during high school, it was a rewarding experience, for you got to help out while hearing from members of the community that you wouldn’t usually meet or speak to. They varied in age and overall life experiences, each one had a story to tell.
You stood in the utilities closet of the kitchen alone and put your apron on, but struggled to tie it in the back.
“Damn it..” You whispered, you just couldn’t find the other strap.
Then you felt a presence behind you.
“Do you need help?” You heard a familiar voice say.
But before you could spin around to face him, his fingers tapped along your waist on both sides and grabbed the straps. He stepped closer, leaning down to breathe against the back of your neck.
A chill ran through your body as the apron tightened around your body perfectly.
You finally spun around to face him.
“Hendery.”
He watches his name fall from your lips.
He smirks and licks his lips. “How’d you know?”
You laughed, but his intense and low gaze on your face made you weak.
“Your voice..I’d recognize it anywhere.”
Hendery blushed and laughed.
“Do you like my voice, sweetheart?”
Another chill vibrates through your body and you find yourself pressing your legs together.
You breathe heavily and nod. “I do..and I’d like it if you’d call me at night...when you leave work of course.”
“Understood.” He licks his lips again and turns to leave. You follow behind him and out to the main dining area where you both serve food together.
During your break, you watched him go to each table to talk to all of the families eating. He grinned as they asked him how he’d been doing since the last time they saw him the week before.
He even sat down next to any elderly attendees that needed assistance with eating their food.
Your heart fluttered. He was so kind, caring and handsome on top of it all.
“How long have you two been seeing each other?” A man said. His voice broke you out of the trance Hendery had you in.
“Oh..” You turned to him as you leaned against a wall.
“We aren’t dating.”
The man that spoke to you was none other than Yuta, the head chef and owner of Osaka Moon, the best restaurant in the city. He was in charge of providing food for the soup kitchen every Thursday and did a wonderful job each time from what you had heard. Everyone loved his five star meals.
He smiled softly. “Well..if you continue to look at him like that..it won’t be long til you do.”
“Like what?” Your brows knitted.
Yuta only chuckled and shrugged his shoulders before walking away.
But he was right, you started dating. You found yourself FaceTiming Hendery every night until you fell asleep. You spoke about everything, never running out of topics to talk about and never getting bored. His personality, like Cinderella’s slipper, fit yours incredibly well.
Fortunately, that wasn’t the only thing that fit perfectly.
———
[1 Month Later]
One day at the soup kitchen, the two of you found yourselves knocking over cans of fruit in the kitchen closet.
Your legs wrapped around his waist as he slid in and out of you for the first time. You just couldn’t hold back anymore. You wanted him badly and a kiss just wasn’t enough.
He covered your mouth with his hand, for your moans were beautiful but grew increasingly louder as he rubbed your clit.
He breathed heavily into your neck. “Sweetheart, I’m going to ruin you later for being so loud.”
You let out a mewl while the wetness between your legs increased at his words.
Your nails scratched his back as he pinned you against a cabinet.
And later that day, he did ruin you in his car before he let you out to go home. He parked just a few blocks away, luckily his windows were tinted so no one could see him bringing you to paradise in the back seat with your hands tied behind your back with his belt.
You laid down together when you finished.
His fingers played in your scalp as your back rested against his chest. He kissed your neck and listened to you breathe.
“How’s school?” He said in between kisses.
You took his other hand in yours and intertwined your fingers. “It’s okay, finals are stressful.”
“Well, you know I’m here to help.” He kisses you again.
You smiled. “Of course, but I know you have your own issues to deal with. How are things at the lab?”
You knew he had been frustrated lately because some of his appeals for certain projects had been denied by the national organizations. You failed to remember the very specific details he told you the night before, but he was overjoyed that you remembered him even mentioning it.
He smiled to himself, tucking your hair behind your ear as you yawned.
“Things are okay, it'll all work out, I’m sure.”
“How can you be so sure?”
Hendery chuckled. “Because they all give in to me sooner or later.” His voice sounded a bit different then, it was deeper, rougher.
Deep into the night after Hendery drops you off home, he drives down an empty street.
“When will you tell her?”
“Tell her what?”
“About me! About us..”
“She will never know about you because you don’t matter!” Hendery says sternly.
“Fuck you! I’m the reason why you got this far, you fool!”
He grips the steering wheel and winces. “I like her..a lot. I can’t hurt her. I won’t hurt her.’
“And how many times have you said that before? Hmm?”
Hendery blinks slowly and looks to his rear view mirror.
“The clock strikes 8 and the world goes empty, which poor, wandering soul will be our next victim?”
“‘Our?’ You’re on your own..”
“And when the blood is on my hands, don’t forget to look down at yours too..now shut up, and stop here..this girl looks lonely.”
“No..I won’t do that.”
“I wasn’t asking! Pull over!”
“No!” Hendery struggles, but pulls over and stops right beside a girl waiting at a bus stop.
“Hello..need a lift?”
——
[1 Week Later]
You hadn’t seen Hendery since that night, you knew that he was busy with work, but you didn’t think he’d be this busy.
“Hey.” You say once he answers the FaceTime call.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
He looks disheveled and has bags under his eyes. His eyes look intense as he props the phone up beside his computer screen and continues to type.
“Are you still at the lab?”
Hendery feels soft when he hears your sweet voice, it calms him down. He stops typing and looks at you, all cuddled up in your blanket on the bed.
“Yeah..” he pouts, “I wish I could be there with you right now..”
“Oh? And what would you do if you were here?”
You raise an eyebrow.
“Ahhh you naughty girl, well..just for that, I’d only cuddle you..”
“Henderyyyy don’t be so cruel, what if I need you?”
“Then I’d hug you tightly and make you wait until the morning.” He winked and started typing again.
“What if I call you “daddy?” You whisper into the phone, knowing that it would drive him crazy.
His typing fingers stuttered for a moment but he exhaled and furrowed his brows as he continued his work.
“Baby? I haven’t seen you in so long, play with me..please.” You begged.
“No..not tonight, sweetheart.” He wasn’t even looking at the screen anymore.
“But baby..”
“I said no!” He said angrily. You never heard him like this before. His voice was rough again and different, like it had doubled.
He looked at you then back at his computer screen.
He fidgeted and had trouble breathing for a moment, but you stayed silent.
“I’m—I’m sorry, I should go now, goodnight.”
He hung up before you could say goodnight.
That was the first of many moments that were strange to you. Hendery wasn’t as sweet sometimes. He’d be short with you even at the soup kitchen. When you tugged his shirt to pull him to the back he ignored you and fixed his hair.
He looked tired and you tried to pin it on him acting on the stress he was recently experiencing, but the truth was that it was much more complicated.
Late at night, Hendery would find himself fighting someone else. Someone that had been more intent on doing their own thing.
“Let’s take a walk in the park tonight.”
“No, Mr. Hyde..”
“Really? I think it would help you to relieve some stress.”
“I need to sleep..I feel terrible, I don’t even know what you’re doing anymore..why don’t you stop this? Why don’t you leave me alone so I can function like a normal person?” Hendery holds his head as he lays down on his couch.
“You can rest while I take care of the imbeciles out there, the more we kill, the happier we’ll be.”
“No!!” Hendery shouts. “How many more?! How many more must die at your hand? I will control you! You will not overrule me!”
He grabs a glass of green liquid from the coffee table and brings to his lips. He chugs it down as tears stream down his face, but soon he is thrown to the floor on his knees. He feels fingers in his throat, his eyes roll in the back of his head as veins protrude from his forehead. Then, out comes the liquid that he just struggled to swallow.
He balls his fists up and cries. “NOOOO!! That was the last of it!”
“It’s okay, Hendery, it’s time to go to sleep anyway. You’ll make more tomorrow, but you’ll be just as defenseless against me.”
“No, no, please don’t! Please don’t kill anyone else!”
“And what would you rather me do to gain satisfaction? Torture them until they BEG to be killed?” Mr. Hyde laughs sinisterly as Hendery drifts into unconsciousness.
The next morning, Hendery wakes to find himself covered in blood, he can’t remember how he got to his bed or whose blood is on him, but he sees the knife at the end of the bed covered in blood as well. He breaks down in tears and yells out for mercy as he realizes that he can no longer control Mr. Hyde.
[Two Days Later]
You meet up with Hendery for a Starbucks date.
“I’m sorry about the other night..the stress got to me.” Hendery smiles softly when he watches you burn your mouth with hot coffee.
The truth was that you like iced caramel macchiato but you wanted to be more “serious” around Hendery so you only drank black coffee like a “regular” adult.
You hissed as the hot liquid burned your tongue.
“How many times do I have to tell you?..just order what you want.” He giggled and sipped his own coffee.
“Eh, I know, but..isn't it a bit childish?” You asked with wide eyes.
Hendery chuckled and ran his hand down the side of your face. He adored you.
“No..nothing is childish if you enjoy it.”
You smiled. “Okay.”
You sat in silence most of the time as you both worked on your projects separately. Hendery still looked handsome, but strange. You’d glance up at him every now and then and see that his brows were always knitted and his lips moved like he was talking to himself.
He spoke quickly, so you could never make out what he actually said.
The bags around his eyes were red and his cheeks looked more sunken in like he hadn’t been eating well. His shirt was crushed, but when you first met him his shirts were always pressed and tucked in neatly. And his hair had grown out, like he hadn’t bothered to visit a stylist recently.
“Hendery..is everything alright?” You put your hand on his.
He quickly withdrew his hand and held it while glaring at you.
“I’m fine!” He said loudly, the few customers sitting nearby turned to the two of you when they heard his roar.
He realized he was loud and relaxed into his seat. “I’m sorry, again. I-I was just frightened.”
You nod slowly and put your hand back under the table.
Before the two of you departed each other, you gave him a hug and a kiss.
You walked towards your house as Hendery watched.
He felt pain in his heart when he watched you walk away with a defeated look. You were sad because of him, and he hated that. He just wanted to make you happy, he just wanted everything to be under control.
“Y/n..There’s a new art museum opening up on Friday, your father extended curfew just for it..would you like to go with me?”
You turned to him and smiled widely. “Is that a date?”
“Of course..we can spend some time in my car afterwards..if you want. Would that make you happy?” He gave you a wink.
You nodded. “As long as I’m with you, Hendery. I’m happy.”
[Two Days Later]
Hendery decides to have dinner with your father at his penthouse. He pretends to prepare a meal for him that was actually provided by Osaka Moon’s Catering company.
He had a maid make everything spotless and made sure to spend a little more time on his hair and outfit. He had to ensure that your father took him seriously, for he would plan to ask him once more for a donation from the city for his lab. They would be able to do more research this way.
He had posited the question once before, but gained a disappointing ‘no,’ as your father focused more on the missing people’s fund, however, Hendery believed it imperative for the lab to gain new resources and make new developments that would positively affect the city’s environment.
So tonight, he hoped that with some food and humor, he could convince the mayor.
“What are your intentions with my daughter? I see you have been seeing each other quite frequently lately..” your father took a bite of his steak and chewed while looking down at his plate.
Hendery smiled. “Your daughter and I have a wonderful relationship, I would say. She is very supportive and kind, the world could be better with more people like her.”
“Well, I certainly agree. Do you feel that you can protect her from this cruel world?” He looks up from his plate and looks sternly on Hendery.
Hendery swallows hard, but nods quickly. “Of course, I’d do anything to protect her.”
Cut the bullshit, get to the question.
A few more minutes pass. The two speak about wonderful changes that have occurred in the past year. Hendery even cracks a few jokes to get a chuckle from your father.
As things whine down and your father prepares to leave, Hendery leans forward and intertwines his fingers on the dining table.
“Mr. Y/l/n, I believe that you are a man of great intelligence, therefore, I believe that you will make the right call by supporting my lab.”
Your father raises his eyebrows and crosses his arms as Hendery continues.
“I believe that you will see the importance of funding our research at the lab. We will be able to make even more groundbreaking developments like we have in the past year. We need the resources should we continue.”
Your father thinks for a moment then shakes his head. “I am so sorry, son, but I cannot issue the funds to your lab at this time.”
Hendery sighs but the mayor continues.
“We are dealing with a huge crisis in our city right now, I have to help our citizens find their loved ones. Furthermore, with the holidays approaching, we must provide food and assistance to families in need. The budget for your lab is not there.”
“Yes, sir, I understand the importance of these things, but I have been asking for your assistance for these past few months now, we simply cannot go any further without it..” Hendery taps his finger against the table while trying to hold back. He swallows the grumbling in his chest.
His eyes stare intensely at the mayor, but the mayor is unfazed.
“I will not provide tax payers money to some boy that wants to do his little experiments..at the end of the day, your work being done is not a matter of life or death.”
Hendery twitches when he hears the mayor’s insult.
“Please..don’t make me do something I’ll regret.” He whispers lowly.
Your father leans forward in his chair.
“Is that a threat, boy?”
Hendery smirks and loosens his tie.
“I don’t know who the hell you think you are, but just because you gave me some food, doesn’t mean I will bend over and let you do what you will.”
Hendery laughs under his breath. “Your daughter did.”
Your father shoots up from the table.
“What did you say?!”
Hendery’s eyes narrow, his mouth grows into a creepy smile as he laughs. “You heard me!”
Your father walks around the table and grabs Hendery up by the collar, but Hendery grabs the steak knife and presses the sharp tip into his neck just deep enough to draw blood.
Your father freezes, his eyes widen in fear.
“Hendery, what in God’s name are you doing?!”
“Hendery isn’t here anymore, you fucking fool. You should’ve just listened to him the first time, now I have to take over because he was too weak!” Hendery’s voice comes out in a deep tone your father had never heard before. Venom practically leaves his tone as he speaks.
Your father stares in confusion as the knife presses in deeper.
“Listen, you worthless piece of shit. We thought you were smart but it turns out you’re just as dumb as any other bimbo in this shitty city. So let’s spell it out for you, give us the money or we will kill your daughter…”
His head snaps to the right. “We won’t kill her!” Hendery’s usual voice cries out.
“Shut up!” He snaps his head back to the left.
“You’re-you’re insane.” Your father stares into his red eyes and pale skin.
He looks strange and scary, like someone that was already dead.
This couldn’t possibly have been the same person he spoke to just a few minutes ago.
“Aren’t we all, mayor?” He chuckles and twists the knife, your father cries out in pain.
“Okay! Okay! I’ll give you the money!” Your father couldn’t lose you like he lost his wife. He wouldn’t mess up this time, he had to give Hendery whatever he wanted if he wanted you to stay alive and well.
Hendery nods. “Good.”
He lets the mayor go and laughs loudly while still wielding the knife in his hand and watching the Mayor run out.
———
[Friday Night]
Hendery wakes up at 9 P.M. He looks down at his hands and sees bruises across his knuckles.
He sits up straight on the bed and rubs his head.
“Shit..what did you do?”
But there’s no answer.
He missed the entire day because of Mr. Hyde. He was taking his life over, it seemed the potion was no longer having an affect on him, for he couldn’t remember where he was on most nights. But even worse, more recently it seemed he’d blackout during the days as well.
He looks at his phone and sees that he has 13 missed calls and several text messages from you.
“Damn it!” He curses and jumps up from the bed. He runs to the shower to see if he can go to the art museum before you left.
He called you several times as he drove to the museum but you didn’t answer, you ignored his calls because you were pissed he didn’t show.
You were busy speaking with Ten, a writer for the city’s newspaper. He was observing an artwork when he came across you staring at your phone with tears in your eyes.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
You looked up at him with a somber expression then broke down even more. He took you outside where you talked about what happened. He then told you a joke to make you laugh and about his job.
“I focus on stories that deal with art and culture, so of course I had to be here.”
“Oh, that’s very nice. The pieces in there are really interesting..well, at least from what I saw before I started crying like an idiot.” You shrugged your shoulders.
“Don’t say that..you’re not an idiot. I’m sure he has a reason..you just need to talk about it.”
You nod. “But Ten, it’s not just that. He’s been...different lately. I can’t speak with him very often because he gets upset..this was supposed to be our first date together in a long time. It was supposed to be a “first” for us.”
Ten nodded as he watched you sniffle. “Have you thought about leaving him?”
You shook your head. “I really like him...I just think we need more time, maybe we just have to work on communication.”
Ten gave you a smile. “I agree, if you think he’s worth it, then you’ll both find a way to work it out. Now, it’s 9:30..would you like me to drop you home before you lose a slipper, Princess?”
You felt your face become warm as you smiled.
Ten walked you home as the two of you continued to talk about painters and the artistic styles you enjoyed.
You never noticed Hendery watching the two of you from across the street.
He felt his heart race, an animalistic side was creeping out as he watched you laugh and smile with another man. Sure, he didn’t show up for your date, but did that mean that you should move on so quickly?
Hendery grows angry, he sticks his hands into the pocket of his hoodie and watches Ten give you a hug at your doorstep.
“I should just text her back and apologize.”
“And what will that do? She’ll just ignore you then go on a date with this guy tomorrow.”
“Thats nonsense, she wouldn’t do that to me.”
“Oh, Hendery, he wants her, she wants him, it’s clear to see. But you won’t believe it until she trips and conveniently falls on his dick, will you?”
Hendery shakes his head. “Shut up!”
“Why don’t we just get rid of him so you don’t have to worry about that happening?”
“No! No more murders.”
“But Hendery, what about the elderly man from this morning? Or the middle aged homeless person from the afternoon? Or how about the young girl from the bus stop?”
“Stop it, Hyde!”
“Hendery...it’s time for you to go to sleep.”
“No! No!! Don’t do this again!”
But Hyde takes over once more, following Ten as he walks back to the museum.
[The Next Day]
You wake up late in the afternoon and turn the TV on for the news. Your dad already left for work so it’s just you in the house.
“Breaking News, it was discovered this morning, a writer from The Chronicles has gone missing. He goes by the name Ten and his vehicle was found with the key in its ignition and the front door open. Ten was last seen at the opening for the new art museum on 45th street.. If you have any information on Ten’s whereabouts, please contact the police at 555-5127.”
Your mouth fell open. The friendly gentleman that you met the night before had gone missing. You instantly felt guilty as you realized that he dropped you home and put his life in danger for it.
Then, your doorbell rang.
You looked through the peephole and saw Hendery.
You bit your bottom lip and sighed. You had been avoiding him since he ditched you, but you should’ve known he would visit you sooner or later when he knew your dad wasn’t home.
You opened the door.
“Hi.” You said with tight lips.
Hendery looked at you with pleading eyes that almost broke your hard exterior. His hair was wavy and hung in his forehead. His eyes looked tired and his face looked drained, but he still looked handsome to you.
“Baby..I’m so sorry, can I come in?”
You widened the door. “Yeah..I guess..”
Hendery brought in a large bouquet of flowers in one hand and a large gift bag in the other hand.
You sat down on the couch and turned off the TV.
“Okay, baby, listen, I’ve been at the lab a lot lately, I haven’t had enough sleep and I..I decided to take a nap like an idiot. I overslept and missed our date, I’m so so sorry, please baby, I didn’t do it on purpose.” He says in one breath as he drops the bag down and gets on his knees in front of you.
Your eyes widen. “Okay! Okay, you don’t have to do that..”
“Do you forgive me?” Hendery’s eyes are round and watery.
You caress the side of his face with your hand while he looks up at you like you’re the messiah. “Hendery..we should talk, maybe you should take a break from the lab..you look tired.”
Hendery melts in your hand as he closes his eyes. “Sweetheart..I love your touch..”
“You’re stressing yourself out, maybe it’s time for a vacation.” You continue.
He places his hand over yours and brings it to his lips. He kisses it softly.
“I’m fine, baby. I promise.” His voice is gravelly and makes you weak.
You sigh. “Sit beside me…”
Hendery smirks, he’s able to change the topic so effortlessly once he hypnotizes you with his eyes and touch. “Why?”
You lick your lips. “Are you really teasing me right now? After what you did last night?”
Hendery chuckles and gets up onto the couch beside you. You take his face in between your hands and kiss him deeply. You both grow hot and kiss each other with more passion as you struggle to breathe steadily, your tongue brushing over his and his teeth nipping onto your bottom lip.
He pulls away abruptly. “Wait..there’s something I have to show you.”
You watch him reach into the gift bag and pull out a large box. He hands it to you and grins. “Open it, sweetheart.”
“What’s this?” You lift the sides carefully and open the top. You then see that it’s a beautiful dress, but not just any dress. As you hold it above your head to let it fall loose from the box, you see that it’s the black Gucci dress that you told him you loved. It was long sleeve but slit down the center with a plunging neckline.
You gasped. “For me?”
Hendery nodded when he saw your face light up.
“Oh my god! Hendery!” You turned to him with your mouth still agape.
He nodded. “You’re gonna look great in it, baby, but there’s something else..” he reaches into the bag and pulls out a small ring box.
“Hendery..”
He opens the box and shows you a dazzling emerald cut sapphire colored ring.
Your eyes widen even more. “Oh—oh my god!”
You fling your arms around him and hug him tightly.
He laughs as you freak out over your gifts and holds you to his chest. The two of you fall onto the couch and continue to make out.
“I love it, baby, thank you.” You say before kissing his neck.
He feels a chill run through his body as you lay on top of him. “It’s a promise ring, I promise to protect you and love you for as long as I live.”
You felt your legs weaken by his words.
“Hendery..I love you..” you kiss his collarbone.
Neither of you felt that it was early, for there was an undeniable connection that you had to each other. You couldn’t imagine yourselves with anyone else.
You sucked his skin in between your teeth and listened to him moan, the purplish marks you gave him standing bright and clear as the sunny day outside.
You then pulled the band of his sweatpants down to reveal his hard member and licked the tip leaking with pre cum already.
You forgot about everything as the two of you made love. You only felt him, his love, his embrace, his caring nature. You loved it all and yearned for him to be with you forever.
———
[New Year’s Eve]
Things had calmed down a bit since that day. Hendery started looking and feeling better as his lab received more than enough money to continue research and development projects.
You also noticed that the rate of people going missing each week had gone down significantly, as if the culprit was taking a break for the holidays.
You felt happier now that Hendery and your father were both happier. Things felt right when you had Hendery by your side for Thanksgiving dinner and for the entire day of Christmas. And now, you could ring in the new year together. You hoped that your future would remain as bright as these past few days had been.
Hendery bought you so many gifts for Christmas, you had to leave some of them in his place. But you didn’t mind it, as it gave you an excuse to stay over some nights. Surprisingly, your dad was okay with that.
Your dad lifted curfew for the holidays, meaning you and Hendery could go to the movies or ice skating whenever you had the chance. You also got to make out by the giant Christmas tree by city hall and snap a few pictures together.
And when the nights were cold, Hendery wrapped you in his arms and kept you warm. He’d whisper sweet words into your ear and wait for you to drift into sleep.
He was taking double the amount of his “medication” to hold Mr. Hyde back. He was able to create more of it with your father’s generous donation that allowed him to buy the chemicals necessary. But he couldn’t ignore the fact that a part of him missed Mr. Hyde, for he felt more..confident with him around.
Nonetheless, Hendery spun you around on the ballroom floor as you danced.
The city was having a countdown special at a mansion owned by Johnny, the owner of the popular greenhouse conservatory on the outskirts.
His place was beautiful and you found yourself in awe at all of the art on the walls.
“I didn’t know you could dance.” You looked impressed by his dancing skills.
Hendery blushed. “I didn’t know I could either, but I may have watched a YouTube video or two to prepare for this..” he gave you a wink.
“Ohh..I see.” You laughed out as Hendery watched your beautiful smile. You looked stunning in the dress he bought you. Your neck and cleavage looked wonderful and oh so tempting. Your makeup was also done well, even though he thought you were gorgeous without it.
Hendery looked dapper in his suit and smoothed back hair. His hand on your waist and the way he looked into your eyes as you danced close made you tremble.
Hendery couldn’t keep his eyes from drifting down to your chest. He breathed heavily and the beast inside him dared to crawl out at any moment.
He was struggling to hold him back, but your silky, revealing dress has their thoughts running wild. He’s growing impatient. Sooner or later, Mr. Hyde will take over if Hendery doesn’t hold him back.
Hendery clears his throat and lets go of your hand. “Excuse me, I have to go to the restroom..”
A look of concern crosses your face but you nod and watch him scurry to the bathroom.
In the meantime, you watch your father speak to the elites a few feet away. You take a sip of your drink and look to the other direction.
A lady walks over to you suddenly.
“Hello! You must be the mayor’s beautiful daughter! How are you?” The woman asked enthusiastically.
You gave a smile that your dad would’ve been proud of and shook her hand.
“Yes! I am his daughter and thank you so much, I’m flattered.” You chuckled.
She nods. “You look amazing, but I couldn’t help but notice the ring on your finger.”
She points to the ring on your hand that is holding the glass.
“Oh.. what about it?”
“It’s just...I could’ve sworn I saw it on TV or something..” she puts a finger to her chin.
You shrugged your shoulders.
“Ahh! Yes! That’s where I saw it, on the news I think, it was missing from a jewelry store! I think it’s worth about 50 grand!”
“What are you talking about?” Hendery pops up behind her.
He walks beside you and takes your hand in his. “Are you really trying to harass the Mayor’s daughter by accusing her of stealing a ring?”
The woman shook her head. “I am so sorry, you guys have a good night.” She walks away.
You turn to Hendery. “What was that?”
Hendery’s face relaxes when he looks back at you.
“I don’t know, but let’s dance.”
You dance for a few more minutes. Hendery starts to sweat and pull your body closer to his, he licks his lips as he watches your eyes fall low.
“Baby, I’m so sorry but I can’t take it anymore.” He takes your hand and leads you to the bathroom upstairs where things are a little quieter.
You stumble into the bathroom while kissing. Hendery fidgets his hand behind him and eventually finds the lock. He also flips the light switch.
He wraps an arm around you, picking you up and placing you to sit on the counter.
You continue to kiss him but Hendery is impatient.
He lifts his mouth from yours and yanks down the fabric of your dress to reveal your hard nipples.
“Fuck..this is what I’ve been dying to see all night.” He latches his mouth onto your nipple, sucking hard as you hold your body up with your hands behind your back.
Your head falls back as his tongue lays flat against the hard nub then circles around it.
“Ahh..Hendery, that feels so good.”
He looks up at you through dark eyes then bites you.
You yelp and look down.
“It’s ‘daddy’ to you.” His voice is grumbly and deep.
You nod. “Daddy, give me more please.” You look up, dewy-eyed.
Hendery sucks and pumps harder. His touch is aggressive, but you don’t want him to stop. Just as long as he was touching you.
“You’re so fucking beautiful, I could just watch you all night.” He whispers into your chest then flicks his tongue over your breast again.
He pulls the other side down now, your breast popping out like it was begging to be released from its restrictive cloth covering.
You sat there on the counter, choking back moans and tightening your legs together as he continued to suck your breasts dry.
“Daddy..please..I need you..need you in me.”
Hendery squeezes your breast harder as you squeal.
“Stand up.” He demands while walking back to a stool in the bathroom and taking his jacket off.
He sits down onto it and pats his thigh. “Show me how you’ll ride my cock.”
You walk over to him and part your legs before sitting down and facing him.
He glared at you sternly, no trace of love rests in his gaze as he watches you like a hungry animal.
“No underwear.” He clicks his tongue when he feels your bare pussy resting on his clothed thigh.
You shake your head.
“What a whore you are, I can’t wait to do whatever I want with you.”
You bite your lip and start to move back and forth, you feel your clit begin to gain satisfaction.
You press down harder and hold onto his shoulder while grinding onto his thigh.
Your chest feels weak. You feel so good as friction comforts that one spot.
“Does it feel good?” He whispers with a straight face.
“Y-yes, daddy, so good.”
“Then stand up.”
Your face contorts in confusion.
“Be a good girl and stand up.”
You reluctantly leave his thigh and stand up.
He grabs your hip with one hand and looks up at you through his lashes. He reaches under your dress with his other hand and delivers a short, sharp slap to your dripping folds.
“Ah!” You cry out, but you don’t dare move.
He runs his hand over it now, caressing it to soothe the pain.
Your breath hitches in your throat.
“Mmmm so wet, sweetheart.” He licks his lips and delivers another blow.
You would’ve fallen forward had he not been holding you with his other hand.
“You’ve been tempting me all night with this slutty dress, did you think you would escape punishment?” He growls.
And slap after slap you felt your skin getting warm, but your wetness never failing to coat his fingers.
“Please..fuck me.” You exhale after he slaps you.
“Get on your knees.”
You get on your knees and move to a position where you can suck his cock, but he shakes his head.
“No no no..on all fours.”
The cold tile aggravates your knees but you ignore it and focus more on the aching in between your legs.
Hendery gets on the floor behind you and flips up the bottom half of your dress so it bunches up by your waist.
He places his hands onto your breasts while grinding his bulge against your ass.
“Fuck..daddy, please.”
He watches you fidget below him, your essence coating his dress pants as you lay there and take him just like that.
Your pussy quivers each time his bulge just barely presses onto it.
You breathe heavily and moan.
“Do you think you can take me, sweetheart?” You hear him zip his pants down. A sense of relief floods your body.
“Yes.”
“Without taking my fingers first?”
“Yes, daddy.”
You can feel his tip hit your thigh. You move backwards and closer to him, just to feel him closer to you, anything to feel him.
“No, no stay still.”
He slides a condom on and watches your ass perk up in the air in anticipation. Your beautiful folds drip before him.
You gasp as he runs his tip in between them to coat it with your slick.
He smirks and grabs your waist while burying into hard and deep.
Your body falls onto the tile, you cry out loudly from the pain of him suddenly stretching you out but he wraps an arm under you and picks you up.
“I said, stay still!” He grumbles out again but his tone is harsher, darker.
Your arms shake as you hold your body up and attempt to adjust to his length.
He was both wide and long, tears escaped your eyes as he slid into your tight opening.
“So..fucking tight..especially for a whore like you.”
You bite your lips to hold back an embarrassingly loud moan.
He slides in and out quicker and pulls your head back by grabbing your hair. “Why are you crying? Is it too big for you?”
He thrusts hard, making your ass cheeks shake against his hips and your mouth fall open. He was never this rough with you, you wondered why he sounded different.
He was also bigger than usual, you thought.
“Mmmm..n-no.”
He thrusts hard again, nestling himself deep within your walls and pushing against your insides.
He then pulls out completely before giving your ass a harsh slap. You fall onto the floor and cry out.
“No, what?!”
“No, daddy!”
He flips you over onto your back just so he can see your teary face and lips swollen from you biting them.
He licks his lips and goes back to sucking your breasts like he did before, only this time, his cock is passing against your silky walls.
You feel every ridge, every vein, every twitch.
Curse words leave your mouth as you are brought closer and closer to the edge.
He placed his hands on either side of your head and fucks into you from above while watching your breasts move with each thrust. His nails dig into your knees as he pushes them further apart, watching his long cock glide into your small opening like magic. The way you open up for him drives him crazy.
You’re so wet, he slips in and out with ease.
“Should I let you cum?”
“Yes, daddy, please.” You licked your lips and watched the handsome man above you. He had loosened a few buttons but his hair, now free and wavy, dangled over your face.
He takes your hard nipples in between his fingers and pinches them. You arch your back and moan.
This all felt so wrong but so right. Him fucking you hard and into the new year on the bathroom floor while your father was just down stairs a few feet away.
You came instantly, your body trembling as it clenched around him. Your eyes shut tightly, Hendery watched your jaw clenched and grabbed your chin.
“I didn’t tell you to cum, now I’ll have to go harder.” He growled out.
He fucked you hard, your back rubbing against the tile as he didn’t let up on his unforgiving thrusts.
“Too-too much, daddy.” You cried out as tears escaped your eyes again.
“That’s too fucking bad, you came without permission, so now you’re gonna take it,” he thrusted particularly hard with an emphasis on “take it.”
You moaned loudly and squirmed under him, but he held you still, his fingertips digging into your waist. You panted and cried as a burning feeling shot through your skin..
Hendery fucked you like some kind of animal with a crazy sex drive, placing your legs onto his shoulders and ripping some fabric from your expensive dress.
“Hendery! What the-“
“Shhh!! I want to see my cock fill you up, sweetheart. Want to see my little whore take all of me in.”
A smile creeped across his face.
You got up on your elbows and saw that his girthy penis really was poking through your stomach slightly.
“Fuck..so fucking good, daddy.”
Your hips started to hurt from your legs being open and spread out for so long, but Hendery didn’t care, you were all his tonight, and he was going to make sure you remembered that.
“Who were you walking home with after you left the art museum?”
Your brows furrowed. “What are you talking about?”
Why would he bring up something from a few months ago?
“The guy..I saw him take you home..what’s his name?”
He rubs your clit, making you disoriented.
“I don't know Hendery, I went home by myself that night.”
“Oh, don’t fucking lie to me, whore.” He places his hand around your throat and squeezes it.
You clench uncontrollably as your clit feels amazing with his thumb on it.
Hendery cums as you tighten around him unexpectedly. You release as well, his hand tightens even more around your throat. You see stars and shake. Your body feels weak, but Hendery doesn’t pull out or let your throat go.
He leans downward and kisses your lips.
He looks wild and different, his eyes are more intense with a red glow around them that you hadn’t seen before. He has purple and green veins bursting out from his forehead and neck also.
He chokes you while staring into your eyes and as you come down from your high, you notice that something is wrong.
He pulls his limp member out but lets it lay on your stomach.
“Tell me his fucking name!”
Your eyes grow. “Who are you talking about?!” You manage to utter out while slowly losing breath.
He lays a sloppy kiss onto your lips again then pulls away. “Do you want to know what Ten’s last words were?”
You grasped his shoulders. “Hendery, this isn’t funny.”
“Oh, but it is, sweetheart..you should’ve seen the look of terror on his face when I held the knife above his head.”
Your mouth fell open, greeting Hendery’s as he laid another kiss. You struggled to push him off of you, so you bit his lip and crawled away from him.
Hendery kneeled on the ground and held his lip. A low chuckle escapes and it’s one that is horrifying.
“But baby, we were having so much fun, why did you do that?”
“Because you’re not funny! I’m leaving!” You stumble to your feet and fix your dress over your breasts.
You rush to the door but Hendery blocks it. You cower in fear. He doesn’t look like himself at all, he looks like some kind of monster with a wild look.
“Hendery? What’s wrong with you?”
“Hendery’s not here anymore.” The deep voice laughs out.
“Let me go.” You begin to tremble.
“Hendery had his fun, I think I deserve to have fun too.”
You were so confused as this monster takes Hendery over, but you quickly devise a plan.
You grab the soap dispenser behind you and quickly hit him in the head. He snarls out in pain but you have just enough time to push past him and out of the door.
You rush down the stairs and call out for help, but then you notice that the fireworks are going off. People are laughing and sharing drinks on the rooftop together.
You turn to head back up the stairs and to the rooftop to get help, but Hendery is already making his way down with an angry look on his face.
No one is in the mansion but you..and him.
You run out of the mansion as fast as you can, hoping that you can find anyone that could help you.
You felt pain in your hips from being stretched out but you ignored it. You were terrified as you heard him bolting after you with superhuman speed.
“Help!! Help me!!” You cried out but the streets were empty, everyone was celebrating the new year as beautiful and loud fireworks lit up the sky.
You continue to run and breathe heavily, you finally create a safe distance between yourself and him so you lean against the back of a wall and wait for him to pass.
He slows down when he no longer sees you..
“Sweetheart..it’s just me and you, now. Don’t worry about him!” Hendery’s normal voice calls out.
You tremble and cry in fear, but cover your mouth as he gets closer.
“What are you talking about? I’m still here, where is the little whore?” A darker voice says.
“She’s smart, we won’t find her.” The first voice says.
You’re confused, it’s as if two people are talking to each other, but it’s just Hendery.
“I can smell her..” the darker voice says.
“No!! No!! Leave her alone!” Hendery fights himself in the street alone, he goes crazy  while yelling and throwing himself around.
“But she’s mine!”
“Mr. Hyde..please just leave me alone..” Hendery falls to his knees and sobs in the middle of the street.
“I live inside you forever, Hendery, with Satan himself by my side.”
“No!!”
And then you only hear silence.
You peak out to see if he has left but to your surprise. He’s right there beside you, his crazy eyes glaring as he smiles.
“Found ya!”
You scream and run away and into the yard of a random house, you stumble into the shed and look around for anything you can use to protect yourself.
A bat.
You take the bat and walk around the yard.
You see Hendery walking around the house. You take in a sharp breath then run up to him fast and swing as hard as you can.
His body falls to floor limply.
You drop the bat and cover your mouth, screaming once more as you look on the body of your strange lover.
———-
[1 Month Later]
You’re starting the spring semester at college, physically. You and your father both agreed that after what happened, it would be best for you to spend some time away.
You told your father about what had happened that night the next day. He told you that Hendery had threatened him and you both came to the conclusion that Hendery was suffering from some sort of psychological disorder. One that would allow him to kidnap and murder people.
Some missing people were found in the lab’s crematory room, but evidence showed that most victims were cremated. This amount of cremation filled the air with harmful toxins, the very same toxins that Hendery’s lab was responsible for getting rid of.
It was ironic, but now your father was happy that the killer was identified.
People no longer went missing.
All cases were closed.
Except for one, however.
Hendery’s body was never found.
「FEEL BETTER 」
(Hello everyone! After a very long creative draught, I’m popping back in with a quick get-well-soon fic for my beloved @nerdflash! Goodness knows she deserves it. This is just something cute and fluffy and short and very silly that I wrote with the hopes of making her smile.
PLOT: Y/N is sick and tired after spreading herself too thin. Thor and Steve are determined to do their best to make her feel better…even if they don’t know exactly how to go about that.
PAIRING: Thor/Reader/Steve Rogers
WARNINGS: None, just a cute piece. Well, there’s a LOT of soup. Soup warning.
WORDS: 2,232
xx
The night air was unseasonably cool on Y/N’s skin. It was a welcome feeling, though, and she didn’t mind the goosebumps that crept across her skin as she stood looking over the skyline. For the first time in a long time—what felt like a lifetime—Y/N took a deep, deep breath, then exhaled. The world was slowing down.
She was tired. She was burnt out. She’d been doing too much for too long and whether she liked to admit it or not (and she didn’t), it had taken its toll on her. A sigh shuddered through her body and she leaned forward on the railings. She let her shoulders relax and her head fall back.
Tired.
She was so, so tired.
“Y/N?” Her peace was short-lived. Steve stepped out onto the balcony behind her. “What are you doing out here?”
“Just came out for some air,” she said truthfully. When she noticed the concern on his face, she forced a smile. A very tired smile.
Steve placed a hand on either shoulder and studied her face. Suddenly, in spite of the cold, Y/N was warm again. Warm, but tired still. “You don’t look well,” Steve said to his companion. When Y/N cocked an eyebrow, he was quick to add, “I mean, not that you look bad you just look ill. Tired, maybe. Not that you don’t still look good. Good, but tired.” He quickly dropped his hands away from her shoulders.
The way he tripped and stumbled on his words was uncharacteristic of Steve. Somehow, it made her feel even better, and she found herself smiling up at him. “I’m fine, I promise,” Y/N told him, not entirely honest. “I’m just not feeling one-hundred percent. I’ll be better in no time.” There, slightly more honest.
That’s not a lie, she thought. I’ll be fine. I’m always fine.
Captain Rogers just stood there, studying her face. His eyes narrowed. He didn’t seem to quite believe her. “Do you want some soup?”
“…..Soup?” Y/N wasn’t sure to say to that. What an odd thing for him to offer.
“It’ll make you feel better. We could go out and get you some soup.”
The thought of going out made Y/N want to die. “As good as that sounds, I’ll pass, but thank you. I think I just need to lay down and I’ll be fine.”
Steve was a doll, truly, but she didn’t have the energy for going out or for long conversations…and especially not for trying to be pretty and at least moderately socially acceptable, two things she always tried her hardest to be in front of Steve.
And Thor.
Both. Both were good.
She tried to stand a little straighter and smile a little wider when either of the two were around, and sometimes it was borderline nerve wracking when they were both around. After all this time, all these years, they still tied her stomach in knots and made her heart beat faster. Both of them did.
The last thing she wanted right now was for either of them to see her down and out. She smiled and she excused herself from Steve and she slipped back into Stark’s penthouse of a tower and she pulled her coat around herself as she hurried to her private quarters. A hot shower was in order, and there was a heated blanket with her name on it (literally, she’d written it on the tag) waiting for her when she got out. She’d be fine. She was always fine.
The time between getting to her room and getting in bed blurred together. She did take that hot shower, and she brushed and dried her hair and put on the comfiest sleeping clothes she had and she buried herself beneath her blankets, though how she’d done all of that she couldn’t say. She melted when her head hit the pillow and her eyes fell shut.
xx
“What’s with the face, Rogers?” Thor tossed an apple from one hand to another before taking a bite from it. Steve looked up, pulled from his thoughts. Where were these guys always just randomly finding fruit, anyway? Tony with his blueberries, Thor with apples…
“I’m worried about Y/N,” Steve said to the God of Thunder.
Thor’s face fell, apple lowered away from his mouth. “Y/N? What’s wrong with her?” He took a step forward intently. “Has she been wounded?” Any tighter and the apple may have burst in his grip.
“No, she’s not wounded,” said Steve, adding, “I just don’t think she’s feeling great.”
Thor nodded sagely. “Soup,” he said with great certainty. “She needs to have soup. That’s what Midgardians do.”
“That’s what I told her!” Steve had to laugh.
“Of course it is,” Thor replied. “You Midgardians love your soup. But really, who doesn’t? There’s this place I visited once that made what I think was called minestrone, and—”
Alright that was enough. Steve tuned out Thor’s rambling. He needed to make Y/N feel better, but how? What we he supposed to do, go with Thor’s idea and kick in her door with soup?
Well, that was a possibility.
“Thor, this minestrone place. Where was it?” Steve interrupted.
“It was here, in New York! They also have a type of bread where they—”
Steve didn’t care about bread. “Do they have more kinds of soup?”
Thor’s face lit up. “Yes, all kinds! And the bread is stuffed with cheese.”
Steve chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment, then nodded. “Think you can go get Y/N some soup? I’m going to stay here and make her some tea.”
“Of course I can get her some soup!” Thor haphazardly tossed the apple onto the counter, where it rolled, then fell to the floor on the other side. The Asgardian paid no mind. “I’ll get her the best damn soup she’s ever had. Our Y/N will be kicking ass again in no time.”
Thor headed for the door, but Steve stopped him. “Thor!” he called out. The lightning lord paused and looked over his shoulder. “Some of that cheese bread, too.”
Thor gave him a thumbs up.
Steve felt oddly domestic. He stood in the communal kitchen making tea, occasionally awkwardly glancing around to see if anyone else had come in. They hadn’t. Most everyone else was busy or off doing something more important than standing around Stark Tower’s kitchen. When the water boiled, he rummaged for a box of Y/N’s favorite tea and fished out a bag. There were pain relievers and fever reducers in the cabinets (even heroes had back pain) and he added a bottle of each to the tray. Still, Steve frowned. It didn’t really feel like enough. Y/N did so much for everyone all the time, and all he had to offer he was some store-brand pain relievers and tea he’d taken from her own box.
“I’m back!” boomed Thor, all but kicking the doors open. He was carrying not one, not two, but three bags.
“That was fast,” Steve admitted. “What is all of that? Where did you go?”
“I didn’t know what to get her,” Thor admitted. “What if she didn’t like minestrone? Or what if she did and I got her something else and it was the wrong thing and minestrone was what she really wanted? So I asked them what else they had and they started listing all these things. What if she wanted a vegan option? And they had three different kinds of chicken soup—what if I picked her the wrong kind? So I got one of everything.”
Thor began taking small, Styrofoam pint-sized cups out of the paper bags. Steve raised an eyebrow. There had to be at least twenty. “Did you really?”
Thor looked up, wide-eyed. “Did I really what?”
“Get one of everything.”
“Yes, of course I did! One of every soup, that is.” He pulled the last item out of the last bag. “And cheesy bread. They gave me this for free for buying so much soup.” Thor folded the paper bag and laid it on the counter. “Buying things is easy on Midgard. Tony’s card works every time!” He proudly slapped Stark’s credit card down on the counter. “It never runs out!”
Steve didn’t argue. He placed three of the pints of soup on the tray along with the tea and pain relievers. It seemed sufficient to perk Y/N up now.
“This should do it,” said Steve. “Thanks for your help, Thor.”
Thor frowned. “But what of the rest of the soup?”
“I can’t fit twenty soups on one tray and I’m not making six trips. Y/N wouldn’t let me. She’d want to get up and help and that’s the opposite of what we want.”
“Well what if she wants—” Thor paused to read a label. “Wonton soup? You didn’t take the wonton soup.”
Steve hesitated.
“Everyone likes Wonton soup. I shall carry it.”
“Woah woah woah,” Steve said. “We don’t want to go bursting in there making a show of it. The goal is to keep her laying down.”
“Yes, Thor agreed, “and she can lay down with this wonton soup.” He glanced at the counter again. “How about this? You forgot the vegan option. What if she wants the vegan option? I must take her this one, too.”
Steve just stood there.
“And the wedding soup! How can you not take the wedding soup? Honestly, Rogers, it has tiny little meatballs in it. They’re cute and baby sized.” He stacked it on top of the wonton soup. “She will like this.”
When they finally left for Y/N’s room, Thor was carrying seventeen of the soups stacked precariously in his arms. Steve didn’t bother arguing.
xx
Knock knock.
Y/N’s eyes fluttered open. What time was it? The soft glow of the TV was the only light in the room, the volume turned down to barely audible. She was warm and comfortable but ultimately sore and drained. And hungry. When was the last time she’d had a good meal? She’d been so busy lately she’d not stopped to have a decent meal, much less cook herself something good and hearty and homemade.
Knock knock. “Y/N?”
She bolted straight up in bed. It hadn’t been the TV. There was someone at the door, and by the sounds of it, the someone had been Steve.
Knock knock. “Hey, Y/N! Are you awake?”
And Thor!? Y/N scrambled out of bed, aching muscles protesting as she found her footing. “Coming!” She padded over to the door, smoothing her hair with every step.
She opened the door.
Steve was there with a tray of tea and medicine and…three Styrofoam bowls of soup and some bread wrapped in brown paper. Thor was there with…even more soup? So much soup. Y/N squinted and shuffled from foot to foot, wondering if she was actually awake.
“Steve? Thor?” she looked from the men to the copious amounts of soup Thor was holding back to them again. She looked at Steve’s moderately sheepish smile, and at Thor’s signature ear-to-ear grin. Whatever they were up to, Thor was certainly proud of it.
“We thought this might made you feel better,” Steve offered.
Y/N smiled. “I feel better already.” She looked from the men to the soup again. “Would you…uh…like to come in? And set…all of this…down?”
“Yes, excellent!” boomed Thor. The men made their way in and set everything at her table. Steve awkwardly adjusted the tray, glancing around Y/N’s room.
“Thank you for all of this, seriously,” she said, reading the label on the first soup container she picked up. “You guys shouldn’t have. You’re too sweet.”
“Nonsense!” Thor told her. “Soup will make you feel better so I—we—got you all of the soup.”
Steve nodded. “All of the soup,” he agreed.
“Well, I’m not certain I can eat—” she did a quick count “—twenty pints of soup by myself. Would you like to stay and have some with me?”
“The point is for you to rest, not entertain us,” Steve reminded her. He was so close behind her that she could feel the warmth radiating from him. It made her skin tingle and her hair stand on end.
“I don’t mind entertaining you,” she said with a shrug. “You guys went out of your way to do so much for me, the least I could do is entertain you long enough to have some soup.”
“Only if you’re certain,” Thor said. “It’s truly all for you! We had no expectation of you inviting us in.”
The TV flickered behind them. “We could eat soup and drink tea and watch a movie,” Y/N suggested.
Thor and Steve exchanged glances. Steve shrugged. Thor grinned.
“Besides,” Y/N said, “when we’re done with the soup, I do have a new heated blanket if you’d like to try it out.”
Lovely
Tomura Shigaraki x F!Reader
Warnings: Angst, cheating,
A/N: (edit) To all that have seen the first authors note, don’t mind it. I was supposed to finish this awhile ago but never got around to it until now. But yes crying in the club is still going on it’s just on hiatus. But i promise its not going to be as long as the Hero wannabe hiatus. So either way enjoy it lol
~~~
You were no idiot, you saw the way he looked at her. Hearts in his eyes, stutters on his words, face red. All the tell tale signs of someone falling in love. It would have been sweet and cute if the person wasn’t your boyfriend.
Distance. That’s how it’s always been. No matter what you did you could never get Shigaraki to fully trust you. It was a struggle to even convince him to be your boyfriend and it was even more of a struggle to see people get way closer to him then you ever could. It hurt. You would make him food, give him gifts and everything under the sun cause you loved him. Honestly you feel like the only reason he said yes was out of pity. And that hurt even worse.
So you just watched. Watched as your boyfriend fall in love for another. You tried asking him about it and all he said was ‘it doesn’t matter, calm down jesus.’ which didn’t give you much comfort.
“Am I really that annoying?” You thought as you looked at your phones lock screen. Showing a picture of you and Shigaraki together. Normally looking at this picture would make you happy. But once getting a closer look, you see the reflection in his eyes as he stared at something while you took the picture. You try to get a closer look and let out a little sob once you saw the familiar body shape of the woman that Shigaraki wanted.
You open your phone and go to gallery. Immediately deleting said picture. You wanted one that just had you two in it. One where you both looked genuinely happy. Searching, searching, and searching only for nothing to come up. All of them he was frowning. You put your phone on your bed before fully collapsing on your bed. Sobs racked your body as you try to find excuses and reasons why he loves you.
But you couldn’t think of any.
~~~
You sat there, anger boiling inside you as you watched as that girl flirted with Shigaraki. And he didn’t say anything about having a girlfriend! Everyone could sense the tension in the room. Everyone wondering who would make the first move. You or Shigaraki. The last straw for you was when she kissed him on the cheek.
You stood up throwing your hands on the table startling everyone. You sent daggers at Shigaraki while you stomped out of the room. Slamming the door shut along the way. Anyone that passed you could obviously sense your untrained anger.
You walked to your room and got some clothes, shoving them in a backpack. You weren’t leaving forever just leaving for a little bit to clear your mind. You’ve watched this shit go down for how long? Watching as your boyfriend flirted with other women.
Putting the backpack straps over your shoulders you walk out of the  bar doors and into the alleyway.No words were exchanged with anyone when you left. They only saw you leave. No explanation. They didn’t even know where you were going. Which concerned them. Were you leaving them? Everyone seemed confused and interested at the drama that followed there new leader and his probably ex-girlfriend.
~~~
Shigaraki sat at his desk in his room. Lights off as the darkness consumed most of the room where his computer screen light couldn’t reach. His fingers tapping on the keys in furious manners as he watched closely, trying to stay alive.
“And here I am thinking I’m an asshole.” Shigaraki jumped causing his character to die. He turned to the burnt male, glaring at him with all his might.
“You are.” Shigaraki growled.
“At least I’m not the type of guy that cheats.” Dabi gave Shigaraki a deadpanned look.
“What the hell do you mean ashtray?”
“Oh please hand man, everyone knows your fucking that chick that keeps flirting with you.” Dabi sends Shigaraki a glare. Did he not see that you were hurting? Dabi was always protective since he saw you as a little sister.
“The hell do you mean? I haven’t been fucking anyone.”
“Thats a bunch of bullshit. You know that the girl that keeps flirting with you. That girl is probably only with you to be higher up. Unlike (y/n) who truly loves your selfish ass.”  Shigaraki only rolled his eyes before turning back to his screen.
“You don’t know what you have until it’s gone Shigaraki.” Dabi turned around and went to close the door behind him.
“And said thing is slipping through your fingers.”
~~~
“Yeah Dabi I’m fine. I just had to leave for a bit. I can only take so much ya know?” You spoke into the phone. Dabi had called you asking if you were okay. In which you told him that you just needed time to yourself.
“What do you think I should do? I can’t stand watching that girl flirt with him any longer. I feel as if I truly do mean nothing to him.” You felt tears rolling down your face as you looked at yourself in the mirror. Picking yourself apart trying to find whats so wrong with you that Shigaraki can’t love you.
“Dump him?” The thought of leaving Shigaraki burned your entire being. How could you just leave? Dabi made it sound so easy. But deep down inside you knew he was right. You never wanted to admit it but facing the facts seemed easier than just slowly suffering, watching as the man you adore never any attention to you.
“You know what. I’ll give him one more chance. If he fucks it up Ill dump him, I promise Dabi. Okay? See you later, bye.” You throw your phone on the hotel bed before flopping on the bed looking up at the ceiling. Breathing softly before you hold your knees to your chest. Hugging them as the overwhelming pain of sadness drifted you to sleep.
~~~
“Hey Shigaraki, I’m back. I even brought you McDonalds!” Well more or less stole it when the employee was handing it to the customer through the drive through window. But you thought it would do some good to try and be a good girlfriend.
But as soon as you open the door you heart drops and so does the McDonalds bag. There was your boyfriend, and that girl in bed. Having sex. Tears glazed over your eyes as you slam the door shut. stomping away. You try to rub away the tears that fell from your eyes.
Fuck this, fuck Shigaraki and fuck the LOV. You don’t need them. You don’t need anybody! You can do whatever you want. You don’t need some cheating dick to tell you what to do. You can make a name for yourself! Be your own villain! Start your own organization! It will be better then the LOV could ever be!
Grabbing all your things, which wasn’t much, and shoving them all in a singular suitcase. It was heavy, but you rather be holding this than stay here.
“(Y/N) where are you going?!” Dabi asked you, watching you leave out the bar door without a word.
~~~
(One day later)
Shigaraki sat at his little desk playing some video games when his stomach growled loudly. He let out a little huff before getting up and heading to the kitchen for dinner. He wondered what it was tonight.
He walked into the kitchen only to see no one. No food on the table, nothing even started. Shigaraki scratched his neck a little irrated and went to your room only to see nothing. It was stripped dry. Like no one lived here in years.
Where was all your stuff? An unfamiliar feeling grew in Shigaraki’s stomach. What was this? Whatever this feeling was he hated it with a passion.
Scratching his neck with more vigor this time. Where were you?
“Dabi have you seen-” Dabi’s fist had connected to Shigaraki’s face, knocking off father.
“Are you fucking serious you asshole? Who knew that you of all people would be a cheater.” Dabi growled at Shigaraki who in return punched him back. There were fists were flying as each other tied to get a winning hit on the other one.
“SHIGARAKI AND DABI! STOP IT IMMEDIATELY!” Kurogiri yelled at them as he teleported both men into there rooms. Dabi could be heard screaming at Shigaraki from his room and Shigaraki screaming at Dabi from his.
~~~
One week later
You laid down in the alleyway you back against a brick wall as the rain from that night soaked you. Your hair sticking to your face. Well at least this was some form of a shower right? Sighing you put your drenched hood up and hide your face into your knees crying as you hit rock bottom.
To say it was cold was an understatement. It was fucking freezing! The cold wind combined by the rain made it feel like you were going to freeze to death. Well at least if you freeze to death you would never see his stupid face ever again-
“What happened to you? Why are you in the streets?” A voice called out to you. Sniffling you look up and see a man with auburn hair  looking down at you.
“I...my boyfriend of 2 years cheated on me for another girl...” You say as the pain was obvious in your voice.
“Such a shame, you seem as the kind to do anything for their lover.”
“Yeah i guess.”
“Well may i ask if your one for revenge?” His question made you arch an eyebrow as you look at him.
“Well at times yeah.”
“I’ll make you a deal, work for me and you’ll never be lonely again. We’ll think of a revenge plan for your lover, but that is if you work for me.” You looked up at the man and saw 2 more emerge from the darkness. You sat on the ground thinking for a bit before slowly getting up and nodding your head.
“Good, the names Overhaul. I’ll be your boss from now on.”
To be continued?....

YOU put your car in park, shutting off the engine, and observed it from afar. It was one hell of a big restaurant, almost a bit too cartoon-like. There was a giant anthropomorphic rabbit on top, and the lights claiming the name were glowing a bright red and yellow. Mind you, this was in Los Angeles, so who wouldn’t blame you if you took one look at Jack Rabbit Slim’s, and mistake it for a restaurant at Six Flags?
Dozens of bikers came in with their motorcycles, yet their engines couldn’t even overpower the chatter coming from newcomers left and right. You ignored a heavy tattooed biker dressed in all leather and denim catcalling you from afar, and you reached the front desk.
A man dressed in uniform, most definitely in character, tipped his hat at you and led you to a table with only two chairs. You weren’t expecting anyone to join you in the other seat across. So what if you went for dinner by yourself? You didn’t bother asking anyone to join you for that matter. Not anyone you could think of at the top of your head would be any less boring.
You began tracing your fingers around the rim of the ketchup bottle when not even five seconds after sitting down, a lady approached your table with ruby red lips.
Of course, you thought. Servers were dressed up as icons from the 50s era.
“Marilyn,” you say in awe.
“Close enough,” Instead of being seated in the Marilyn Monroe section being served by a Marilyn Monroe-looking Marilyn Monroe, you were greeted with a tall Mamie Van Doren, who is just as breathtaking as Marilyn refilling everyone’s coffee mugs from the other side of the restaurant. “How about I get you started with drinks?”
Ricky Nelson’s performance on stage came to an end when Mamie arrived with your food. You looked around the place while eating. People weren’t eating by themselves. Families, friends, dates, all of them occupied their seats. Now that you’ve noticed, you sort of wished you brought someone with you, otherwise the seat across from you is used as a footrest.
So there, you propped your feet on top, and relaxed… then you sat upright. Your eyes fixated on the waiter in his section, which were the cars back in the 50s used as booths. You watch him walk towards one of them. The couple was a young woman in a blunt bob cut with bangs, and a man wearing a black suit with long black hair tied back.
You squint your eyes. It couldn’t be...
“Hi, I’m Buddy. What can I get ya?”
You blinked, dropping the half bitten French fry from your mouth. Holy fucking shit.
It was all coming back to you. The news broke out about the heist going wrong at the wholesale, all dead except for one, a cop who laid dead on the ramp inside the rendezvous was identified as Mr. Orange. Since he wasn’t supposed to know where you were from, Mr. Pink never turned up to your door as an emergency hideout, or to drag you with him on his getaway because he never had one. You never heard of him ever since.
Here he was, Mr. Pink, alive and well, wearing glasses. What the hell happened? How long has he been working here? Is he supposed to be Buddy Holly?
“How do you want that cooked? Burnt to a crisp or bloody as hell?” you hear him ask the man in the suit who ordered a steak.
“Bloody as hell, and oh, yeah, look at this- vanilla coke.”
You noticed the irony. He left you in a black suit - and he comes back in white. Like he’d ever want to be caught dead in white, or pink.
“What about you, Peggy Sue?” he asks the woman, jotting in his notepad. You recognized the pun.
“I’ll have the Durwood Kirby burger, bloody. And… the five dollar shake.”
Were you about to laugh? Call out his name? That was enough for you to get antsy in your seat, but you didn’t want to draw attention. You saw him again while finishing up half of your meal, giving the couple their drinks and disappearing back into the kitchen. He was doing his job, but it wasn’t like he was giving his one hundred percent. For someone who preached to the Gods about professionalism, Mr. Pink sure lacked work ethic. Every employee was on point with their character impersonations as if you had travelled back in time. Meanwhile, he acted like himself and seemed bored while wearing an emotionless face, as if he hated his job and epitome of his existence. It was never a dull moment for him whenever he was with you, though.
You got up to use the restroom.
“We’re lucky we got anything at all. I don’t think Buddy Holly’s much of a waiter,” you heard the man at the booth tell the woman as you walk past them, spotting their food from the corner of your eye. It’s no surprise hearing that. Mr. Pink never looked like the type to work at a job like this.
You sat back down and soon, Mr. Pink reappeared, standing over to the side and watched the announcement of the twisting contest, smoking a cigarette. You see him eyeing two pretty blonde women walking past him, and he looked back his way, now in your direction.
He finally did what you wanted him to do, and he stares at you for nearly a solid minute.
You waved awkwardly.
Mr. Pink tosses the cigarette in a random person’s ashtray and disappears behind the door once again. You darted out of your chair, and marched your way to where he headed, just as the couple he served got up on stage to participate in the twisting contest.
A Zorro waiter jumps in front of you. “Stop right there, mi amor!” his eyes darted at you through the cheap black mask he was wearing. “I believe the bathroom’s on the other side of the bar.”
“Where’s Buddy?” you ask Zorro.
“I’m afraid Mr. Holly is taking a quick break from unenthusiastically serving love birds in their cars.”
“Can you tell him I’m looking for him?”
“Once I see him.” Zorro then took out his sword and pointed it at you, a grin plastered on his face. “Now, shall I escort you back to your dining spot?”
Although you were aware this guy was only in character, you didn’t wanna risk getting kicked out, or having a realistic looking sword ripped through your body. You sighed and turned around, heading back. You noticed at your table a folded napkin beside your empty plate. Mamie Van Doren was last seen there, her back facing you with her heels clicking away on the tiles.
“Excuse me!” you called after the waitress. She ignores you, smiling down at new customers at an umbrella table.
Cocking an eyebrow, you used your finger to flatten the crease and read the note in bold handwriting.
FIND ME UNDER THE GIANT RABBIT. - BUDDY
You threw the door open and ran outside, precisely under the giant rabbit of the Jack Rabbit Slim’s sign, just like he said on the napkin. You felt like an idiot checking every direction to find no one. Not a lot of the bikers were seen riding or hanging out around the parking lot, some people were coming and going, but you couldn’t find Buddy Holly.
Defeated, you turn to walk back inside.
Mr. Pink rushed out the door and caught his breath. It looked like he was chasing you down before you could take off. A song used for the twisting contest kept playing from inside.
You didn’t run up to him and jumped in his arms or anything dramatic in that matter. You both stared at each other.
A few days before the heist you two stood across each other waiting for Mr. Brown and Mr. White inside the hideout. It was a quiet moment, not an awkward one. He just took that opportunity to study you, as you did him. It took him that moment to realize he was warming up to you.
“Well hello there, Buddy,” you smile smugly.
YOU and Pink loitered at the side of the eatery, where the back door to the kitchen was located. He had taken off his fake glasses, showing his full frame.
“Okay,” you watch him lean against the wall, lighting his cigarette. “Talk to me. What happened to you?”
“What the hell do you think? Cops tagged me when I tried driving away. I was put behind bars, and by some fucking miracle this place took me in when I needed money.”
“You didn’t know any other crime bosses looking for a lanky dude?” Pink rolls his eyes at your joke. “I know the heist went terribly wrong, I saw the news. Everyone’s dead as Dillinger.”
“That briefcase had a shit load of two million dollars worth of stones,” Pink blew smoke out. “I swear, if that asshole undercover cop was never sent to set us up, I could have been enjoying a cocktail in Santorini. You’re lucky you called in sick that day.”
You shuddered, remembering how god-awful the illness was. “Never again. I felt like I was being hot glued to a sauna.”
You remembered the day of the heist. In fact, you mentally prepared yourself for something that you’ve never done before. You braced for what was supposed to go smoothly as Joe promised. Instead, you were woken up by the worst case scenario above 38 degrees. You were thankful Joe took it easy on you and promised another job next time.
“All right, your turn. What did you do after that shit show went down?” Pink asks you.
“Just did my own thing. I wasn’t there so the cops never searched for me.” Pink took a slow drag, staring at nothing. He didn’t really look the same as before. Still lanky, except his hair was a bit more darkened and styled in curls, possibly because Buddy Holly had it permed that way. But his face read that he had been through a lot. Normally you felt zero pity for assholes like him, but you managed to blurt out, “I missed you.”
Pink, blowing out smoke in the air, eyed you up and down and furrowed his brows. “Likewise.”
Not only did it suck not being able to make money, you also couldn’t do it with Mr. Pink. As much as he kept his professionalism to a T, he squeezed in time to get along with you. It was no wonder Joe hired you - you were different than the guys, you moved differently and never felt small. Mr. Pink was drawn to that.
Maybe that was just an understatement. He grew intimidated by something he expected to experience the least from in the job, and of course, straight out of a fairytale, you had to stop and ask yourself if you felt the same way, and if what you felt was right. Neither of you had any idea. It was against the rules to give out personal information to each other, and Mr. Pink took those rules very seriously, even if it was just one job that he most likely wouldn’t come back to unless a higher pay was involved and Joe Cabot liked him enough to recruit him again.
If Mr. Pink grew too attached, if he let his guard down for one second, God forbid something would have happened to you. Without a doubt, he would have heavily blamed himself and walked away from the job without saying another word.
His options were to wait until after the robbery to make a move, or do his job, get paid and leave. Whether or not it was out of selfishness was out of the question. Mr. Pink is already selfish in an intuitive kind of way, he’d rather avoid spiraling into a wave of emotions for one person - so he chose the latter.
“What?” Pink looked at you, feeling a bit tense. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Huh? No. It’s nothing,” you blinked, realizing you were staring at him longer than you should have. You shook your head, most likely shaking off the intrusive thoughts. Maybe this wasn’t a good time to tell him what’s on your mind.
If anything, he’s most likely sleeping with the Marilyn Monroe waitress. “It’s just… you shaved the goatee.”
Pink nodded, looking a bit annoyed that there was no facial hair left on his chin to rub. “Buddy Holly had a clean face. For the record, the only advantage of this job is that I’m under disguise. Other than that, this place is a circus. I’m zooming back in time whenever I clock in.”
“It’s a 50s themed restaurant,” you state. “Working here sounds like fun. At least you get to dress up and experience pop culture.”
He scoffs. “No, fuck the 50s. Shit was all I Love Lucy and those puffy ass dresses.”
“They’re called poodle skirts, Pink.”
“Like I give a fuck what they’re called.”
“You know Buddy Holly smiled. He was a singer and a guitarist. If you keep up the attitude, no one’s gonna tip you. Nice Guy Eddie told me about your rant on tipping.”
“Ha! And? You will never find me up on that stage performing That’ll Be The Day, moving like a fucking animatronic.” Halfway finished, Pink tossed his cigarette aside and looked at you. “You’re a sight for sore eyes.”
You felt your cheeks flushing. Fuck. “I am?”
He nodded, putting his Buddy Holly glasses back on his face. “Yeah. It’s a breath of fresh air seeing you here.” He stares down at his wristwatch for a moment.
“Your break’s done?”
“It’s been done,” he says. “Fifteen minutes ago.”
You shook your head, chuckling. “You’re so fired.”
“This isn’t the first time I stopped caring, so my boss isn’t gonna bat an eye.” He had his hand wrapped around the back door which was supported by a wooden block to keep it open. “Look, I’ll see ya arou-”
“Pink?” Your heart rose up to your throat.
He turned back to you. “Hm?”
You just had to do it. You reached up and kissed him softly. Pink didn’t shove or curse at you. His features softened, pulling you close to him and kissed you deeply. Even when you two pulled away, his arms didn’t unwrap from your waist. His forehead was pressed against yours now.
“My name’s Y/N,” you tell him.
He stares at you, no snarky, sarcastic comment left for him to give.
“I know you’re not willing to give your name up just yet, you can’t fully trust me, and I get that, but I won’t tell anyone what happened. You got lucky, I think… but I’m really glad you’re okay.”
“You don’t have to-”
“I’m serious.”
“Y/N,” he says your name for the first time. “You don’t have to go all sappy for me. Karma came in hot. Jesus Christ, I mean, I left you.”
“Not really. You didn’t know me. The cops had the place staked out the entire day, there was nothing you could do.”
He looked down at his shoes. “All right. But still, I feel shitty. Can I at least make it up to you?”
“How?”
Pink shrugs. “I get paid tomorrow.”
“Good for you,” you reply. “Save it like you’re gonna lose it.”
“I’ve had this job for a while now, I got enough to last. But once I win the lottery, I’m gone.”
“To Santorini?”
“With a cocktail in my hand. But that’s besides the point, right now I got enough to take you out on a date… if you’re down.”
“Where would you plan on taking me? Here?” you laugh.
“You’re funny. How about the movies? Overruled, I’m taking you to see a movie. I gotta know where you live first. It’s okay to know now.”
You nodded, you couldn't argue with that. Besides, you two would just be making out in the dark the entire time.
His hand was back on the handle of the back door. Pink pulled it open, looked back at you and smiled for the first time tonight. That warmed your heart, and you were certain it warmed his. He watched you stuff something inside his pocket square as you told him your address. He went back inside, shutting the door on you. You walked back to the front of the restaurant to pay for the bill, and went straight home.
Mr. Pink shuffles past the chefs in the kitchen, feeling through his suit pocket to pull out his notepad and whatever you stuffed inside just moments ago.
I didn’t even serve them. Is this supposed to be for Mamie Van Doren? He stares down at the dollar bill crumpled in his hand. His frown suddenly transitions to a small but genuine smile.
Fuck it. Nothing could stop him now. He definitely owes you a date night. He quickly stuffs the tip back in his pocket square, and comes out the sliding door.
THE END

Oh my requests are open? Oh goodie, I'll have the uh.. Naga!Izuki & Naga!Shoto combo with, uh.... non-consensual cuddling cuz-it's-a-cold-night-and-the-human-is-warm-menu, and a uncomfortable s/o since-their-fucking-leg-still-broken. Oh, and a small this-hug-is-too-tight-I-think-I-hear-my-ribs-creaking please and thank you
This is more of a separate piece than a continuation, honestly. All anyone needs to know is Izuku and Shoto are rotten, spoiled snake men who don’t quite know how human anatomy works, yet. They’re doing their best to learn, though.
TW: Dehumanization, Mention of Imprisonment and Violence.
~
The cave always got colder after it rained.
A storm, a real storm, was rare this far into the jungle. There was the occasional sun-shower and a decent amount of mist, but thunder and lightning and floods only came once or twice a month, or not at all, depending on the season. It was a brief respite from the heat, the humidity, but every creature native to the terrain seemed to dread the cool, crisp air that came with a proper rainstorm. When you were just a traveler, you’d made the best of it, washing your hair in the fresh water and taking in the stillness of it all, but Izuku hadn’t cared for the idea. He said you’d get sick, if you went out when it was so cold, that you’d be ill and grow paler and die. Then, he’d looked towards Shoto, who’d simply nodded approvingly, and Izuku went on about lung infection and internal suffocation with a renewed energy. You’d just tried your best not to be sick.
Even now, you could still hear the last trickles of rainfall on the cavern’s rooftop, the soft clatter nearly muted by layers of rock and moss and everything that separated you from the outside world. You tried to focus on the sound, lock onto it and keep it in your mind, but it was fading steadily, the time between drops growing longer and noise growing more distant, further away, the storm moving on to greener pastures. You grit your teeth, glaring holes into the stone ceiling, willing the cloud to linger, to stay for another second. Maybe if you got closer to the entrance, you’d be able to hear it better. Or, if you--
“It’s squirming again, Midoriya.”
Shoto’s voice was as cold as always, monotone and flat, weighed down by the engrained exhaustion that came with immobility.  His tail was thinner than Izuku’s, lean and made to move silently, but you could still feel his weight pressing down on your thighs as he moved. The mass was draped sloppily over your legs, and twisted unconsciously as Shoto propped himself up, an arm coming up to keep his head off the ground. Izuku was much closer, his head resting on your shoulder and his tail wrapped around your waist, coiling underneath you and looping around every spare appendage it could find. The edge of his frown pressed into your bare skin, but his attention was focused on Shoto. The only evidence that he might’ve paid you any thought came in the form of a slight reposition, his tail taking a firmer stance around you, wrapping around your torso and forming an uneven bed of muscle and scale. You cringed as he brushed against your left leg, your ankle still sore and fractured from his last outburst, but his hold wasn’t tight. More focused on seeking warmth than anything. “They’re thinking,” Izuku explained, barely bothering to scan over your expression. “Do you think something’s wrong?”
“Something is,” You snapped, not trying to hide your distaste. You hadn’t noticed before, but it would’ve been impossible to deny you were moving, now, writhing and shifting in an attempt to free yourself from the mess of limbs and talons. They’d been nice enough to leave your arms free, allowing you to shove at the mass over your waist, but Izuku didn’t budge, just tightening his hold and letting out a concerned hum. As if you were just throwing another tantrum. “I want to go outside. I’ll come back, I promise, I just want to see what it’s like. It’s been weeks since I’ve seen the rain.”
It was Shoto’s turn to scowl, the expression ghosting over his lips as he pulled away from you completely. He took his time, stretching to his full length before looking for a spot to insert himself between you and Izuku. He’d always been the clingier of the two, the touchier one, even if he did so as quietly as possible. Eventually, he settled to slot himself against your chest, his tail coiling around everything Izuku’s didn’t, but he seemed to focus on your injured leg, making sure he had a good hold on your ankle before speaking. “ ‘s warm, when you’re here. If you go out there, we’ll have to suffer for it.”
You glared at the top of his head, his face now buried just above your diaphragm. “I’ll only be gone for a few minutes.”
“You’ll still be gone,” He groaned, childishly, the playful drawl to his voice something you weren’t familiar with, something you didn’t trust. You tried to kick with your good leg, to struggle more insistently, but Shoto only tightened his hold on you, squeezing where he knew it would hurt the most. You went still immediately, biting the inside of your cheek, but his grip didn’t loosen. “It’s miserable when we don’t have anything warm to hold onto. We have to shake and try to conserve energy until we can sunbathe, and even then, it takes hours before we’re comfortable again. Longer for me than Midoriya, but neither of us enjoy it.”
“It’s not that bad,” Izuku countered, the words ingenuine but well-intended. “It’s easier to hunt, when all the animals are disoriented. The rivers are fuller, too.”
“And that won’t change,” Shoto said. “But, we won’t have to be so cold, this time. We won’t have to shiver and hide, and our little human should be happy to contribute. It’s not like you do anything else.” He paused, perking up, lifting his head to better stare you down. He wasn’t imposing, fangs hidden and pupils undilated, but it was the way he looked at you, unblinking, unwavering. You only averted your eyes, concentrating instead on the cave’s floor. “Or, is it that you don’t want us to be happy?”
You didn’t have to think, speaking without hesitation. “I want both of you to die--”
Without warning, the end of his tail tightened around your ankle, squeezing and pulling, as if he was trying to seperate your foot from your body. You cringed, any threat you could’ve made dying on your tongue and choking you as it fell back into your throat. Your hands shot to his shoulders, your nails soon embedded in his skin, but Shoto only chuckled, nuzzling into your chest and muffling his laugh. Izuku opened his mouth, but he closed it again quickly, pursuing his lips instead. Shoto’s grip didn’t loosen. In fact, it only seemed to grow tighter, tighter, tighter, something cracking inside your calf.
“You have to. If you hated us, you’d be just as bad as those hunters who come after Midoriya and I, you’d be just as bad as our prey. And you know what we do to our prey, don’t you?” He didn’t wait for you to answer, only glancing towards Izuku as he continued. “You want to make us happy, don’t you, (Y/n)?”
Another knead, temporary but painful, this one forcing you to gasp in pain, your lips parting but no sound coming out. You couldn’t speak. Even if you wanted to, you couldn’t. Your ankle burnt, something molten and sharpened shooting through your nerves. Shoto didn’t care. Tighter, again, tighter.
“Don’t you, (Y/n)?”
You nodded. Feverishly, you nodded, only stopping when the pressure on your ankle alleviated. You let out a pitiful, ragged sob, and Izuku cooed, mumbling something about Shoto being too harsh and you being too stubborn. If Shoto planned to do anything but watch and grin, you couldn’t tell, but you didn’t think you cared, too preoccupied with your own tears, your own throbbing, aching ankle, all the progress you’d made erased in a matter of seconds. The world only came back into focus when Shoto spoke, his voice level, uncaring. Cold enough to rival with the world outside.
“This one’s well-behaved, Midoriya. Softer than the last.” Finally, his eyes met yours. You didn’t have the will to look away, this time. “We’ll have to take good care of it. It’d be a shame if we had to break another human so soon.”

Can I get Aizawa, Vlad King, Present Mic and Midnight with an S/O who are mourning the death of a pet? Like little guy had to be put down due to illness or old age or it got hit by a car and S/O ended up rushing it into the Emergency vet and they called them sobbing and panicking afterwards?
): yes ofc anon!  TW: Death of a pet under the cut
Aizawa Shouta: When you call him in a panic he drops everything to talk to you, and when you explain what had happened he won’t say something like “oh that's all? I’m glad you’re not hurt”  Very sympathetic, he has an especially big heart for pets, he’ll understand why you’re so upset and panicked so don’t feel childish for asking him for comfort about this sort of thing.  If he can leave work he definelty will, but if he can’t he’ll stay on the phone with you until you calm down a bit, then he’ll be constantly checking up on you via text and phone calls when he can sneak them in. He’ll help you do whatever you need to do for the coming days, encouraging you to take time to relax and take care of yourself.  Have a ton of errands? He can handle it! Really need to clean up around your place? Don’t worry about it, he can do it! Intense amount of laundry? No big deal, he’s got it! He’s happy to let you snuggle up into his side and talk about your favorite memories with your pet. He really doesn’t want you to feel like he’s just sticking around to make you feel better, he wants you to feel supported. He isn’t going to spend hours trying to cheer you up, if all you want to do is wallow and be lazy with him then that’s alright in his book. Your emotions don’t need fixing they just need tending to, it’s okay to be upset as long as you understand why you’re upset, where the emotion came from, and how to cope with it, as a teacher he’ll be really happy to guide you through all that.  He’ll also handle all the business with the vet if it stresses you out.  If you’d rather do it yourself he’ll let you, but you’ll be under a very watchful eye. If you wanna be left alone he’ll give you space, but as mentioned above he’ll keep an eye on you.
Sekijiro Kan: He has his own dog, he gets it, the mere thought of anything happening to his dog makes his eyes get watery.  When you call him sobbing and panicking he can’t help but get a little teary-eyed himself, he’ll wanna be with you ASAP, and he’ll stay on the phone with you to calm you down as much as possible until he can get to you, or if he’s too wrapped up in work until you don’t sound so hopelessly panicked. He will definitely rush home to you as soon as he can.  If you need space you’ll have to tell him, because all he is going to want to do is smother you in the best way. He’ll be practically glued to you. If you want to talk about your pet feel free, don’t let his teary eyes deter you he’s just really feeling for you right now.  Like Aizawa, he’ll take care of whatever you need done and even if you insist you can do it he won’t care to hear it, if you say you want to do it then he’ll let you help, but he’ll probably have a hard time leaving you on your own to do things.  If seeing his dog helps you at all then you will see him all the time, whenever you want, both physically and via photos and videos. If it makes you any more upset though Sekijiro will be incredibly mindful of that. If you say you just want some time alone he’ll have a harder time understanding that, and his worry may overtake his ability to just leave you be, he won’t totally smother you but you can expect to be checked in on every 15 or so minutes. If it really bothers you be patient and explain that you just want to be left alone he’ll get it if you really dumb it down for him.  Like Aizawa he recognizes the importance of feeling feelings, he doesn’t want to rush you through your grief but he does want to help you walk through it he knows from his students that can be hard to do alone which may be part of the reason he has such a hard time giving you space,  he just wants to make sure that you’re alright as you can be and that you feel supported.
Hizashi Yamada: O this man is crying right along with you. When you call him in your initial panic he can’t help but also panic a little as you sob into the receiver, once he puts your warbly explanation of the previous events together he’ll be instantly empathetic. He knew how much you loved your pet and how terrible you must be feeling right now, (he probably really loved your pet too, to be fair).  Even if he really shouldn’t he’ll probably find some way to finagle himself out of work to be with you. He hates the idea of you being on you’re on when you’re upset. And like Sekijiro he’ll probably smother you with affection and affirmations.  He’ll offer to distract you with your favorite movies, or he could play some piano for you, or he could talk about his students, if you want to be distracted he’ll be great at that.  If you wanna talk about it he’s also down for that (maybe spare him some of the more..intense details). He’s a really active listener and he’ll constantly reassure you that he’d feel the same way.  If you want he’ll tell you about all his favorite mishaps with your pet, like the time he ran up and down the halls trying to give the poor thing a bath while petsitting for you a few years ago. He’ll be a pretty persistent presence if you just want to be left alone he’ll try his best, but if he happens upon you asleep he can’t promise not to join you.  If you’re bothered by it when you wake up (which is unlikely, I mean come on he’s so sweet) he’ll be genuinely sorry, but if you’re grateful he joined you (much more likely) he’ll still probably apologize for butting in when you asked for alone time but he’ll also be really happy that he’s cheered you up a bit.  Be sure to tell him what helps and what doesn’t, he’s flexible, if something he said or did really struck a chord in you good or bad he’ll wanna know so he can make a note of it. Nothing is more important to him than you feeling like you can safely come to him with any emotion, so don’t hesitate to let him know how his reactions make you feel, he wants to adjust to fit comfortably beside you when you need him. Nemuri Kayama: While she’ll be glad to hear you’re not physically hurt at all like your panicked tone made her fear initially, she’ll be really sorry to hear that you’re so upset and she’ll understand why you’re upset and she’ll want to support you however she can.  She’ll definitely want to be with you as much as possible in the coming days and she’s comfortable with any amount of closeness you want.  She’ll also probably be the most comfortable out of everyone to just let you cry if that’s what you need. She gets the feeling of frustration that comes with being out of control, and she knows that sometimes there isn’t anything anyone can do but let the frustration pass. If you wanna talk about it she’s a pretty helpful listener, she’s usually really grounded and confident in her own emotion so getting reassurance from her on yours can be incredibly comforting.  Like Aizawa she’ll understand if you need some space to get your emotions in check, she’ll take care of things for you while you do that if it’s helpful, but she’ll also keep a pretty watchful eye on you, even if it doesn’t feel that way.  She’s also most likely out of everyone to start encouraging you to get back on your feet, she won’t rush you but if you seem to be feeling a bit better she’ll offer to help you run some errands or do some chores instead of taking them all on herself, but if you seem to get burnt out in the middle of the task she’s more than ready to send you away and do the rest of it herself. Talk to her about how your emotions progress as time passes, and don’t try to bite anything back, she’d rather see you hurt and angry than apathetic, especially if you aren’t apathetic at all.  She’ll say she really appreciates you asking for her help, she loves you and the last thing she’d want is for you to take on too much and feel burnt out, don’t hesitate to ask for her company or a helping hand because when you seek her out it really puts her at ease.

I Will Always Love You
Ch 1: You Won't be Alone This Time
Names/Translations:
Hank: Sealgair, Hennek
Connor: Curiosity, Feorachas
//TW: Death, memories of death, unrequited love
Curiosity wasn’t ready to see him again. That wasn’t to say that he hadn’t been happy to. He just hadn’t been ready. Curiosity had just gotten used to the idea of him being gone; and then there he was, like he had never even left. In another place and time as seemed to be mostly customary of these things, but he largely looked the same. Just like before his vibrant blue eyes were what drew curiosity in all over again, as it seemed he had not learned his lesson. Curiosity tried to stay away, but as they would eventually come to say: Curiosity killed the cat. He couldn’t stay away, not when Hennek looked at the world with so much wonder, the desire to know it in ways that books simply could not provide. Curiosity couldn’t ignore that, he had a hard time keeping his distance from overly curious humans as it was; but even then, with Hennek it was different. It felt like something bigger than the both of them, like Fate had written that wherever Hennek went Curiosity was to dutifully follow. It was an odd feeling, to think that as a being of Fate himself that his actions would seem so prewritten.
Like the predetermined beings he helped govern over, he gave into the pull and followed Hennek. By this point humans were trying to determine or create a god for themselves. Why; Curiosity could only guess. He would assume it was to help them understand the things he and Wisdom hadn’t yet shown them the answers to. The Beginning had told him to leave it alone, so for now he planned to. Hennek didn’t practice this newfound faith, but he was curious about it. Curiosity hadn’t given himself a form yet, he was only watching for now; just like last time he supposed. Perhaps Hennek - Sealgair in this life - would be better off like this; if he didn’t interfere. Sealgair was always alone; not truly though, since Curiosity lingered; but there were never any people with him. Solitary, he supposed would be the word to describe him, he wasn’t lonely. He seemed content to watch those around him rather than participate. Curiosity could understand that, humans were incredibly fascinating. HIs favorite creatures honestly, but they were not meant to be alone. That was what worried him. Sealgair made no moves to even be social, he was always on his own.
Curiosity started snooping, it couldn’t be helped really. He was the embodiment of curiosity; but moreover there had to be a reason. He had found Sealgair well into adulthood, there had to be something he had missed. Something he hadn’t gotten to see. There were always answers to these sorts of things, it was only a matter of digging for them. It took him months, closer to a year if he was honest, to start finding the answers he wanted. They were well hidden. Whatever had happened. Sealgair didn’t want anyone to know. Curiosity wasn’t a person so that was fine. Sure, he took his human form to interact with things, but that was more because as a mere presence he couldn’t open books. It was the principle of the matter. Sealgair had a family once, a wife and a little boy. The thought that Sealgair had loved someone else had stung, but it wasn’t like he had been there. According to the journals, he would dare to call them diaries he found hidden away, the relationship had crumbled rather quickly. Their child had been born ill and hadn’t made this fourth year. That was the start, the end of things had been Sealgair’s drams and ramblings.
Sealgair remembered having been Hennek, and him in a sense. He had vivid recall of the last  moments of his first life, down to Curiosity’s own presence, so he was aware that something was amiss. It was the rambling though; Sealgair trying to explain himself; that drove his wife away at long last. That was when Sealgair had made the choice to be alone. To observe. To try and find other like him. One of the journals went into detail of how Hennek had died. He was following someone that he had believed to be Curiosity, but he could never get close enough to get a good look. Every time he had called out Curiosity had only run faster. Of course; it hadn’t been him because he had been waiting for Hennek to return. Which made it one of three things; and age induced hallucination, Death dressed as him as she was known to do, or Balance luring him to his end. To where Death had been waiting. For the first time Curiosity cursed his own nature, he wished he had never learned any of this. He burnt the book as he held it, and it had taken a lot of his concentration to manifest his hurt and rage as a flame, but he wanted the book gone. Destroyed. When he looked up again Sealgair was standing in the doorway. His expression was an odd mix of recognition, fear, and awe; perhaps even anger for a moment.
“Its you.” Sealgair breathed, “I’ve seen you in my dreams. Beside me on that cliff. Why did you let me fall?” Curiosity was still processing the fact that he had been caught. He was certain he hadn’t been making that much noise, Sealgair wasn’t a light sleeper as it was. So Curiosity wondered what it was that had woken him. “Answer me Feorachas!” There was the anger from before. It rumbled in his voice and sharpened his eyes. “Why?” He pleaded, “Why did you kill me?” “That wasn’t - I didn’t... It wasn’t me.” He tried to explain, but the words caught in his throat, “I can show you that day from my perspective if you would like.” He tried to collect himself, but when the hurt persisted he decided that it wasn’t worth the effort, “I love you - loved - you. I wouldn’t have done that to you, even if The Beginning had threatened me with the end of the world.” He pleaded next, “Hennek, I need you to understand that. Please.” He wasn’t sure when he had reached out, or when he had started crying for that matter; but when Sealgair took his hand the memory took over. The sensation was a bit like free falling, and Curiosity was certain this was against all kinds of rules. He needed to do this though; Sealgair deserved to know.
Reliving that dat was not something that Curiosity was emotionally ready for. He had avoided thinking about this one day for centuries, so having to actively do so was difficult. Sealgair deserved to know; to understand. Curiosity would never hurt him, not then and not now. That was why he had tried to stay away. He watched Sealgair as he watched the memory. Observed as the emotions washed over him one by one in the same way they had done to him. Watched as he heard the words that version of Curiosity had said to him. The sight of his old body, even in that state, didn’t seem to bother him. He had long since come to terms with that death. What seemed to shake him bout it had been Curiosity’s reaction to finding him. When they were back to the present, to the real world as it were,  Sealgair stared back at him. “Who was it then?” He asked with a note of desperation to his voice, “Who was it that lead me to my death?” “I don’t know.” Curiosity replied with defeat in his own voice, “You were unwell so it could have been that, or my brother, or his... compatriot. There is enough that I don’t know and I can’t give you an answer. I’m sorry. I would like to know as well, who and moreover why. But that was an old life. It shouldn’t keep you from living this one Sealgair. Let go of it. I am with you now.” He squeezed Sealgair’s hand, “You aren’t alone this time.”
Curiosity stayed after that. Sealgair could use the company. There was no love this time, not from Sealgair; he was busy processing. So curiosity loved him privately. The village judged them harshly and Sealgair remained an outsider. If anything, Curiosity’s sudden presence might have made him more of one. Curiosity was lonely in his company, but he stayed. Sealgair deserved to no longer be alone. They were friends at the very least, and Curiosity helped when he could with what Sealgair allowed him to. Sealgair kept his distance and Curiosity got good at pretending that it didn’t hurt. He couldn’t blame him though, learning the things he had was probably unsettling. Humans weren’t meant to deal with their own mortality, and Curiosity probably should have been gentler in unloading it on him. Sealgair got to see old age, but farm work soon became too much for him. So Curiosity took over, he had learned how to do these jobs from observing Sealgair. Curiosity had aged only in appearance so he could handle the jobs just fine. He helped take care of Sealgair in the evenings, though Sealgair fought him the entire way. It was a matter of trust, the first time he had given Curiosity any form of faith he had died. Curiosity of course didn’t blame him. Even if he wished Sealgair would be a little less stubborn about it, but that wasn’t in his nature. Sealgair was many things, and stubborn was the first of them.
The years came on and eventually Sealgair was no longer aware of himself. He was kinder to Curiosity now, but it was brought out of not recognizing him and that hurt more than the distance ever had. Curiosity had retired the farm some years ago, he looked far too old to be doing that kind of work. All of his time was now spent with Sealgair. He was asleep more often than he was awake now, and Curiosity spent a lot of that time running his fingers through Sealgair’s age whitened hair. With all of the time he now spent with Sealgair, he was there when he died. It was a peaceful affair this time. She came for him in his sleep, a rattling exhale and then nothing. Curiosity had been ready to let him go this time so there wasn’t as much pain. He had kept his promise, though Sealgair had not made it easy to. He saw to it that Sealgair was properly buried then vanished. He hoped Sealgair might love him again in the next life. For now though, he had questions for Balance, and he would be getting his answers if Balance gave them to him or if Death did.
