Thoughts on eda and owl beast being tied by the red string of fate

The whole idea of the red string of fate usually symbolizes an inescapable bond, something destined or soul-deep. Applying that to Eda and the Owl Beast flips the usual romantic interpretation and reframes it as a tale of co-existence, struggle, and eventual understanding so I think it works perfectly.

They start out as enemies locked in a parasitic curse, but over time, Eda begins to connect with the Owl Beast on a deeper level. It’s not just a monster—it’s a part of her, and embracing it becomes a key piece of her growth. In that sense, calling it the red string of fate adds this layer of mythic inevitability, like they were always meant to transform each other.

It’s also kind of a perfect metaphor for trauma or chronic illness—the idea that you can’t separate yourself from it, but you can learn to live with it, redefine the relationship, even draw strength from it.
