hmm. if a person. had a box on their back. I'd say like 12in×8in. how many rats could feasibly comfortably travel in that box

context i have a fantasy Beaſte that can hold person in hand like rat. about that scale size. the Beaſte is hexapedal and carries a gigantic sled saddle thing. like appas saddle tbh

#visually absolutely nothing like appa tho #it's like. a borzoi. or a greyhound. in visual design.#very long and lanky and covered in an extremely long shaggy coat that makes it look kinda dead if it lays down anywhere non-bed-like #like. it lays down and immediately gains the qualities of an old knitted sweater thats been left in the woods overwinter #the Beaſte's people are also currently At War with another Beaſte species so a lot of the story is them fleeing from the front #Beaſte had never seen humans until just Finding One lost in the woods carrying a cat because he got isekaid while simply at home chilling #isekaid guy has never seen anything remotely non-earth in his entire life and had to reassess his entire worldview very rapidly #he's scared shitless but. hey there are worse ways to be stuck in a hostile world where you're like. bug sized. to everything that talks #yeah he has to be stuck in the stupid dumb baby idiot pen for idiot baby kittens but he gets fed regularly!#(Beaſte does not trust this little animal to simply be Loose in its home. it could crawl under something and get lost :( )#i want the saddle to specifically be built to the limits of what would be Comfortable #because like. it's not a bus. and they're gonna be in that saddle for Most of the day #we dont Need to fit as many characters in there as possible bc we know where the major plot characters are going #just need to allocate The Rest Of The Guys #i write. sososososomany stories where a slightly oversized group of characters all get isekaid and scattered to the four winds tbh #theres also luggage in the saddle they do also have Items.
