I don't know if I have all the words to explain it but this post + something I saw on bsky earlier got me thinking about how like. Part of the thing that both underwhelms me about Izzy and makes it very annoying when canyoners argue that OFMD "killed it's only disabled character for the crime of being disabled" is that it feels like Izzy losing his leg is treated by the show with the same gravity and seriousness of someone like breaking a bone or catching the flu

#im not like super mad about this bc I understand that Izzy is not really an important character in the grand scheme of things #so they were never gonna have a deeper exploration of his disability esp not with the time constraints of s2 #but yknow.#he was pathetic for an episode and then a few days later he was back to spinning around and taking out lights with his sword #that's not a character who's disability plays a major role in his story or characterization #2pm in the morning #ofmd #the izcourse
