Winter exams are finally done!

Hey hey, if you have read my introduction post  (which is here!) you probably saw the little note at the end of the post about my exams. I am happy to announce my first set of major exams are over for this year! As one of my first posts for this blog I’ve decided to make a little diary sort of thing that includes my experience, how I studied, how I think it went and how I’m going to improve for the next time! I hope you all enjoy!

(Just a lil note I’m still new at this so please stay with me!)

Day One.

(Monday 18th)

I Had two exams on Monday Business was my first. As it was early in the morning I was trying to shake that morning grogginess as much as possible without coffee  (I have an irritable stomach so coffee can make me feel quite sick especially in the morning) Obviously went in took my seat and then got my paper and began. Overall I think that the exam went well I 100% think I did better in the long question portion than the short answers but they are worth more marks so I’m not too stressed about it. What will I do differently for the next half of the year I hear you ask, well my friend I’m going to definitely revise over the keywords and definitions from each unit as that is mostly the short answer section.

The second exam of the day was Irish, I had about an hour and forty-five minutes between business and Irish so I looked over all my vocabulary. Irish is definitely one of my weaker subjects, Orally I can speak it well in conversation but a written is much harder. We had to analyze Irish poems and stories and talk about metaphors and imagery and all that kind of jazz. I think this went extremely well as I’m doing a higher level of Irish (This is a choice in schools here) I studied harder in this than most of my other subjects and I really feel this work paid off in the end! For the next half of the year, I’m going to keep up what I’ve been doing but also maybe try new techniques! (If you have any tips for learning a Language please drop it down below I would honestly appreciate it)

Day Two.

(Tuesday 19th)

Day two ahh the grogginess of the week has faded away and I was ready for action. Day two I had 3 exams (fun I know right?). My first exam was History, this is a strong subject for me so it was confident in this exam. I only fell short on one question but I suppose you cant get everything perfectly, we’re only human. I was super happy with this exam and proud of myself for it. In the next half of the year, im going to try do mind maps and timelines to put every key event and person in order. The dreaded exam that is German was next and oh boy had that confidence I previously had gone away. I don’t think this exam went well at all I really am going to revise this subject a lot harder in the new year! Last exam whoop! English time!! The young Eri is confident once more. ‘The Great Gatsby’ was the first easy title that came up and I really enjoyedthisnovel and had very strong opinions on it along with evidence to back it up! the next was poetry but that’s nowhere near as exciting as the novel-essay so I won’t bore you with that. This exam was one of my stongest so far and im really happy with my eassys.

Day Three.

(Wednesday 20th)

I had Religion first. It’s really Based on opinions, its compulsory but not really a factual subject (In the way we study it) and the school only gives it to make sure it’s not a complete waste of a lesson but I enjoy it never the less.On to the star of the day, Biology! I was super excited because of ikts definitely my favorite subject by far! The only part of the exam I struggled with really was a few terms in the monera/bacteria unit but everything else was great. For the new year, I’m going to focus more on those long complicated words that take about 7 times to say correctly never mind spell because they are the part that let me down. I still think that it went extremely well tho! 

Day Four.

(Thursday 21st)

Last day!! The only exam I had left was Maths. This exam did not work in my favor, it was definitely one of the hardest exams I sat, to be honest. I wouldn’t say it was a bad thing, it showed me areas I need to work on, doing badly isn’t fun but it has its positive sides! I was so relieved to finish all my eams now I can enjoy my winter break with friends and family!
