everytime i experience a weird issue with either my computer or external hard drive i get worried because whenever i look up how long these things typically last the answer is 3-5 years and these are both definitely within the range of 3-5 years old....But they are expensive to replace...and scary because my files..........I like my files....

#im sure an external drive could last longer under good conditions.#However mine is constantly plugged in and running all the time because it has more space than my main drive and it has Fortnite.#I should have thought to ask my mom for another hard drive for my birthday if only so i could have a backup....#I've already had issues where it seemed like the drive was actively dying (but then it became fine)#but lately it got a couple random read errors again...#and as for my computer itself sometimes the screen goes black for a second and im worried the graphics card is getting scared.#and it is a prebuilt alienware pc with a very inconveniently shaped shell....#so in theory though that could be replaced....It would be scary...........#But it does look sort of cool. Moderately. It's kind of round-ish.#Admittedly I've grown accustomed to it over the past 4 years so it's not as novel now as it was.#If I got a clear case with the gamer lights like all the fancy custom pcs do it would keep me up at night. My desk is next to my bed.#It'd be shining in my eyes....
