Adaliah Fate (Felix, Graves, she’s got a lot of last names it’s funny)

Is a runaway from Piltover. After almost getting indoctrinated into Viktors cult, a then 7 year old Adaliah ran away and got lost in the winding electric streets of Zaun. Causing her to get snatched up by some of gangplanks lackeys.

When finally arriving in Bilgewater, the “cargo” was intercepted by Fate and Graves. Fate, not really wanting to leave a poor kid alone, took her with him back to his place. Not too long after Graves would be sent to the locker, and Tobias would shed his name and become Twisted Fate.

While not being neglectful too Adaliah, he never really taught her the basics of self defense or combat. Mostly because he didn’t want to see the girl who he now saw as his daughter getting hurt or worse. Which lead to Adaliah becoming the bartender for fortunes bar.

Adaliah of course, would sneak out and learn on her own with her only friend until the age of 13, Jan. (Jan design and post comming soon.) Adaliah would soon lose Jan in a warehouse fire, after the two young girls try to do a bounty on their own.

Adaliah would soon reunite with Graves, and he’s reallly trying his best- but with Gangplank comming closer and closer to taking back his, Adaliah discovers something deep within her that she wants to put to full use. Not to preserve her new family but to save her friend from the clutches of a terrible terrible man.

Adaliah might have magic but she’s more of a talk later, hit first. She’s gotta short temper and her fists are rated e for everyone.

Her type of magic stems from the old blessed isles. Her mother having blood line from there. She’s also has mild tychekensis. Aka dumb luck. She’ll find a whole patch of 4 leaf clovers, or she’ll slip and fall onto a bed or a pillow while someone lands right on their tailbone.

Her main weapon is a dual pair of sickles. They were originally from a pair of junk and riches that Adaliah had gone through. They fit perfectly into her palms and it was instantly natural.

She also can have shield she can conjure up, protecting her or her loved ones.

The sentinels want to recruit her, but Adaliah is very comfortable with her life and what she wants to do.

-Underlying Themes + Relationships-

Adaliah has issues with her identity, and what she wants to do with her life. She’s intelligent, she’s witty, but she’s still scared of growing up. It dosent help that she feels like she’s been from everywhere.

Her mother had described her father of Noxus decent, being a “valued warrior” Adaliah thinks he died in combat. But she’s always found herself surrounded by ravens.

Adaliahs character has themes of death, lucky, “blood runs thicker than water”, and identity.

Adaliahs name literally translates too “death that follows” or “one who draws death”

Adaliahs relationship with other characters in Bilgewater also somewhat reflect this theme

Twisted Fate : sees him as the dad she never had growing up. They clash most of the time, but story wise they are parallels

Graves : not really knowing much about him, she tries her best to talk to him, even if the conversations are stupid.

Miss Fortune: sees her as a older sister than anything, the corset she wears (albeit backwards as she calls it a “fashion statement”) was stolen from Fortunes closet

Nilah : off put by her extremely. Also constantly clashing heads since Nilah doesn’t really like her dads.

Illaoi: thinks she’s really cool, dosent know that she’s butt buddies with gangplank.

Gangplank: on sight. Nothing more. Nothing less on SIGHT.

Pyke: also thinks he’s weird. Treat eachother respectfully though.

Nautilus ; who?

Tahm Kench : has seen him in her dreams. Really wants nothing to do with him

Bonus characters

Jayce : has fond memories of sneaking into the academy away from her piano lessons to watch him and Viktor work.

Viktor : scared shitless of him. Current him, that is.

Sett : has encountered him a couple of times, seeing him at bars and serving him. It’s not hard to recognize a buff vastaya. She’s polite but curt, thinking he has his head too far up his ass.

Gwen : sees her as a little sister, and would tear apart someone limb for limb if she asked.

Akshan: older brother figure aquired!! Liked to hang out with him the most out of the sentinels.

Lucian : thinks he’s too strict, and also really doesn’t like talking to him as much as she likes talking to Senna

Senna : sees her as a mom but you’ll never hear her say it out loud. Prefers training and talking to her. Adaliah makes her little drinks to bring. Just for Senna. No one else.

Vayne: thinks she is SO COOL. The way a toddler thinks a middle schooler is awesome though. Mostly idolization. Vayne also enables her destructive behavior and Senna has scolded both of them for blowing things up.

Jan (oc): wants to find her so bad. Thought she died in the warehouse fire. Finding out she’s helping gangplank filled her with a new resolve to get her away from him

I’m playing ruined king (it was finally on sale on xbox and holy shit it’s so fun!!!!), and a bunch of the random NPCs in the background are wearing the same sort of serape/cloak style* as graves does. it fills my heart with so much joy that graves in large part just looks like any other bilgewater working class boy ambling around the harbour looking for work or someone to rob hahaha. the young tfgraves skins have some fashion swag:

(malik’s outfit is something quite similar to what TF is wearing here, notably, so that seems to also be an existing fashion style in the serpent isles to this day)

but current day graves really does dress mostly like bilgewater joe schmoe except that he gets his details more lovingly rendered and his shirt is unfathomably tight, and I love that for him

he’s iconic, is what he is. who needs to be elaborately overdesigned when you can just become main character through sheer heedless strength of personality (and also gay longing, that’s the secret spice)

(this game is only impressing on me further that bilgewater is a fucking BANGER of a setting, though, I am hoping so hard for it to get the arcane treatment because I think it would be unspeakably cool. that long sweeping shot in the opening from underwater in the white harbour with all the coffins floating and a variant of the bilgewater theme kicking in as we move up to see the entire island over MF’s shoulder!!!)

*I think it’s implied from an npc early on that this style is actually a buhru garment originally -- and that the paylangi are wearing it the wrong way around fhdskjfhas. double hilarity: the npc goes ‘it looks dope tho. so fair enough!’. ah prime bilgewater attitude <3

Hi, Ana! Do you think TF ever covered up his old Bilgewater crest tattoo? If so, what with?

So, i think he would never be able to cover that tattoo no matter how much he wanted to leave his past behind. In the same way, I imagine that he probably never gave up his grandfather's deck of cards, which was the only thing the river people kept with him.

Bilgewater was and still IS his home, Graves made Bilgewater a home for him, TF would carry that tattoo as a memory of happy times in his life.

BUT if he covered the tattoo, I believe it would be with the illustration of the Death tarot card, which generally means change, killing Tobias Felix to become just Twisted Fate.
