1. Are you named after anyone? yes! it's more like a combo of names than anything. they took my dad's first syllable and part of my mom's middle name and slapped a "lyn" to the end of it.

2. When was the last time you cried? good question. a proper cry - i can't remember! could have been earlier this year when I was properly overwhelmed.

3. Do you have kids? does my dog count?

4. What sports do you play/have played? volleyball, basketball; I would like to add that I played them, but didn't particularly excel at them; it kills me that I didn't apply myself to play vb better; it's so popular here

5. Do you use sarcasm? yep; then I feel bad if I don't know the person too well haha

6. What's the first thing you notice about people? Um...their...face? Maybe how they hold themselves up habitually, how they walk; so, I guess, their body language

7. What’s your eye color? brown

8. Scary movies or happy endings? I prefer the happy, but I appreciate a good scare. Not by myself, though! it has to be in a theatre, because I can guarantee someone is more scared than I am

9. Any talents? I can do the theatre. I can carry a tune. I excel at wasting a day doing absolutely nothing

10. Where were you born? on an island

11. What are your hobbies? theatre, reading, attempting to write, convincing myself to do things, staring at my dog, daydreaming, trying to keep my plants alive

12. Do you have any pets? a few. 3 dogs (although boomer is my main), and a bird

14. Favorite subject in school? theatre, history

15. Dream job? acting full time; dream gig is acting for the RSC

Inanimate objects - Lighting and set dressing research

What is Set dressing ?

Set dressing is a term that comes from theatre and film. It means decorating a particular set with curtains and furniture, filling shelves and generally making it lived-in. In animated film and video games this means creating the base set of geometry. So for my set I had to populate the kitchen scene with fridges, counter tops and tile surfacing on the walls.It is easier to reference in the 3d models into the set after they are modelled. Instead of modelling inside the pre existing set as this would cause a large amount of problems.

What is lighting?

Lighting, in combination with textures and camera angles is where a scene has the potential to come alive. When lighting is applied properly it can make a scene convincing and add an element of realism. In 3D animation lights dot actually exist as they do in the real world. Lights in CG are objects that are designed to simulate how lighting works in real life. The lights I was using in my animation where Arnold lights in Maya. Poorly used lighting can wash out a scene, make the objects appear hard or flat, and destroy all of the modelling, animation and rigging teams hard work.
