---- Whenever explosions shook the very core of a city, you could bet that Tennyson would already be alien’d up and on the case. Ringing true as usual, the boy had already gone Humungousaur and proceeded to tear into the swarm of rogue drones that were ravaging the city.

      At least, that was the plan until the watch gave him Upgrade. Not that he was complaining, though. After hijacking one of the drones, he flew around with glee, blasting the other rogues to bits... until they all fled mysteriously. And a bit after that, he became very aware of a new arrival on the scene. Must be some sort of local hero.

      And he looked like a black-and-green palette swap of the drones that were causing problems.

---- “ Okay, I know how this probably looks to you. ” He begins, filtered voice loud and clear.

      “ But all of this? TOTALLY not my fault. ”

“Gary, Darwin, Archie, Jake, Mu, Rookie, Rosey, Jack, Rock, Ben and all his aliens, my new lil icy angel, Winnie, and-” She’s going to go on for a while naming everyone she’s allowed to say she’s met on her version of Club Penguin,  the surrounding universes and he people in a chatroom she frequents.

Her head turned towards the footsteps she wasn’t quite used to yet. Her eyes slightly widened. Well... She was already planning on trying to get in touch with the super fighting robot.“Oh. Mega Man. You actually came by near the right time. I had an important question for you.” Cleo slowly walked towards the approaching robot, a smile beginning to grow on her face.

“I must ask if you eat anything. I don’t have the faintest idea on what robots eat or if they eat in the first place. While you stay, you are our friend, after all.”

---inlightsimage liked for a starter! While Futaba wasn’t a participant in the Smash Tournament, thanks to Joker’s participation in the tournament she had full access to the grounds - and its occupants. And after reviewing the data, there was one person she had to talk to.

“Hey! Hey! Megaman!” The orange-haired gremlin shouted as she ran towards him, but as soon as she got close her people anxiety got the best of her, a nervous smile coming over her face.

“Uhh h-hey! I w-wanted to talk to you about something...sorry for bothering you.”

❝ Hm? Oh — Rock! ❞ Hearing his name, Lucas turns over his shoulder, and his face glows with recognition. So does Boney, who yaps excitedly upon seeing Mega Man and crosses the room to jump up in greeting, generously giving him kisses. Lucas chuckles, half-walking, half-jogging to his dog to make sure he’s not being too excitable.

❝ Haha, okay, Boney, settle down, ❞ he says, only a trace of firmness in his voice. ❝ I was just gonna take him for a walk. ❞

     tails’s blast cannon was actually totally inspired by mega man’s mega buster, in addition to the great adoration he holds for all of doctor light’s mechanical works of art. tails aspires to be the mobian version of doctor light someday, looking up to him in countless ways.

Dr. Light was honored, really. To think, he was able to slip onto the cruise ship like everyone else - he didn’t consider himself a “fighter” at all. In fact, his only reason for being here was to support his son. Well, that and give zap floor immunity. Apparently support roles are good enough in the event host’s eyes, as nobody has shown him any complaint for his being there.

He was actually quite excited to be here. Whoever was running this was very nice to allow for the spirit’s inclusion. Roll had pestered and pestered him to pack his belongings ( what little belongings he had as a literal spirit, thanks contrived conveniences! ) and board the cruise ship with her. He had originally intended to refuse to stay behind and see if he couldn’t catch up on work. Roll had other plans.

She did the puppy dog eyes on him.

No parent can resist the puppy dog eyes. At least, he couldn’t. So here he was. As long as he wasn’t going up very high on extremely fast rides or giving speeches, he was going to have a swell time. Except, it was really hot and he was still dressed up in full formal attire. Hey, this decision was kinda last-minute in his defense.

Hands in his lab coat pockets, he’s picking out faces in the crowd looking a particular -

❝Rock, my boy! Hello!❞ Well, that didn’t take long. Paternal instincts, probably. ❝Rock, it’s such a joy to see you here! Are you having fun, son?❞  He takes his hands from his pockets, arms spread wide - ready for an embrace, should Rock choose to. ❝I’m so glad that Roll dragged me away from work. I missed you and I’m glad you’re here.❞

  Taking a pause, excitement nearly leaving him breathless, the doctor continues. ❝I must say, whoever running this event is very nice, it gives you children a chance to relax. I simply must thank them later, if I can find them. Oh, and I should also extend thanks for them for not kicking me off this boat as I’m not technically a “smasher” in the tournaments, haha!❞

If there was one flaw in their design, it was their inability to flip back up onto their feet in a reasonable amount of time. Thus, there lay Beat, aggressively flapping their wings around in an attempt to roll over back on their feet. 

Failing to, they simply looked up at Rock with a tiny caw. Their upset expression was pleading to, at least, be put back on their feet.

---- Ah, Mega City. Or was it Monsteropolis? Either way, she found the ‘modern city’ vibe a bit refreshing, even if the tech she saw around was nothing short of hyper-advanced. Perhaps it was just because, deep down, she might be homesick for Earth and not willing to admit it. Or perhaps it was due to her upbringing as a city girl, and the sights were nostalgic. Hell, it could even be due to her childhood of playing games.

      After all, who DIDN’T know Mega Man? One of the hallmark franchises of the NES era along with Zelda and Mario, and notorious for it’s difficulty alongside Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden. Too many of her Spotify playlists were chock-full of Mega Man songs, honestly... But she couldn’t talk about any of that here. If there were any major consequences for breaking the 4th wall... or if it would simply be harmless. She didn’t care to find out.

      At any rate, why was she here, you may ask? Well, simply put, she was trying to get out more, after becoming rather frustrated with her own lack of motivation. Forcing it seemed better than letting her days coast by up in Skyworld, after all. So, here she was, taking in the city air and-

      NEARLY WALKING INTO AN ONCOMING MISSILE, ALL THAT IS HOLY-

---- Shrieking in shock, she jumps backward, now in a wholly defensive position, ready to book it if need be, but at the same time, her legs were like jelly, and she found herself unable to run.

“ ... I’m sorry about all of that. The others are just... very careful. ” When it had been brought up that the robot masters that fought alongside the mad Dr. Wily were once good robots themselves, turned evil by the mad doctor’s machinations, Euden’s allies hadn’t exactly hidden their skepticism against Mega Man and Roll themselves very well. With the limited understanding, the risk that they could be turned against the Halidom, too...

“ You and your family are welcome here in the Halidom as long as you’re in our world. You have my word - so don’t be too worried about it, alright? ” His trust hadn’t truly betrayed him yet - and perhaps he was speaking too soon, but he felt like he was making a good friend in Mega Man already. The risk of some potential brainwashing wasn’t nearly enough to nullify that trust.
