All in, they took my computer, iPhone 11, passport, headphones noise-canceling, 2TB solid-state hard drive full of my productions (some unreleased yet), all memory sticks, prescription glasses, wallet and money, my asthma inhaler, clothing, computer charger, iphone charger … lots of stuff really! The hard-drive contained ......... oh gosh, lets leave it. I am back! So, for my roommate's birthday, on February 7th, we went to see Liquid Stranger at Variety Playhouse. This show did not sell out, but had a huge turnout. Personally, I was thankful it did not sell out because I just do not necessarily join being chin to back at a music show, but maybe that’s just me (haha)! Ten of us went together for the occasion which definitely made the experience even more memorable, as well as entertaining. I mean, who doesn’t love listening to the music they love with the people they love?!  

Martin Stääf, known as Liquid Stranger, was born November 13, 1968 in Varberg on the Swedish West Coast. During his younger years, he played the piano and participated in classical piano contests, which I guess we could say began his love for music. After this in the mid 1980s, he began experimentation with synthesizers, and this began the production of his own material. Later on, in 1997 he began Necton with Patrick Olsén and focused on psychedelic trance. This started his professional music career and Necton made and released 6 vinyl EPs, two full albums, and they were featured on multiple different CD compilations. Spirit Zone Records, Spirit Tax, and Digital Structures signed Martin and Patrick as Necton and they toured around the world until 2003. Martin Stääf’s alias, Rhoca, as well released content to different records and labels at this time.  

Then, in 2003, what we all have been waiting for: Liquid Stranger began! This, in fact, was also supposed to be an alias of his! Martin is an extremely humble person and never actually planned for anyone to know who he was. He hid his face at all of his shows and interviews, but the record label, Interchill, eventually ended up exposing his identity when they put his name on the record sleeves.  

Martin has been signed to seventeen record labels and has released thirteen albums, nine singles, and eighteen remixes. His style is explained well on Discogs’ blog saying, “Liquid Stranger's creative output ranges from suggestive ambient soundscapes to movie scores, pop, dub, infernalia, drill n bass, and electronica”. He has stated he does not like to set boundaries for himself, so you typically get something a little different throughout all of his music that he has released. This definitely made the show that night even better for the audience. Being able to go to a show where the headliner gives you so many different things throughout their set is definitely something memorable and special.

ISA vuelve a retrasar entrada de línea eléctrica de interconexión SIC-SING

La empresa informó a las autoridades que el 30 de diciembre espera tener completamente operativo el tendido Cardones-Polpaico.

Tras una serie de contratiempos y líos judiciales, finalmente el próximo 30 de diciembre ISA espera tener completamente operativa la línea Cardones-Polpaico, el mayor proyecto de transmisión eléctrica construido de una vez en Chile.

Hace unos días, Interchile, la filial de la colombiana, le informó a las autoridades esta nueva fecha, que representa una postergación respecto de agosto, que era el plazo que habían fijado para culminar esta mega obra que, con 753 kilómetros de extensión, unirá las regiones de Atacama y Metropolitana, con el objetivo de elevar la capacidad de transporte de electricidad, robustecer al sistema y resolver los cuellos de botella del transporte de electricidad en esa zona del país.

Este déficit afecta, por ejemplo, a los productores de energía renovable no convencional que han visto restringida su capacidad de captar ingresos.

Fuentes de la empresa explicaron que este nuevo desfase se debe a que aún les resta obtener permisos ambientales sectoriales necesarios para la instalación de 30 torres ubicadas en la zona correspondiente al tercer tramo del proyecto.

A ello se suma que les falta tramitar las concesiones de paso de tres predios donde tienen que instalar estructuras, todo lo cual requiere tiempo y, en alguna medida, genera retrasos.

En lo referido a permisos, sigue siendo Conaf la entidad que concentra la mayor cantidad de trámites pendientes, situación que debería tender a reducirse ya que la línea Cardones-Polpaico, que es clave para que la interconexión de los principales sistemas eléctricos del país, que se concretó en octubre, es parte de las 50 inversiones incluidas por el gobierno en el denominado GPS, instancia que busca acelerar la ejecución de proyectos.

Esta nueva fecha pone a ISA al filo del plazo de entrega estipulado en los contratos suscritos en la licitación de este proyecto. Durante el gobierno anterior se había fijado que la fecha de entrega sería diciembre de 2017, pero eso fue solo un adelanto planteado por la exPresidenta Michelle Bachelet, pero no la fecha legalmente establecida, la que en caso de no ser cumplida deja al Estado en condiciones, por ejemplo, de exigir el pago de garantías.

Tramo más complejo A fines de mayo la firma terminó de energizar la segunda de las tres fases del proyecto, la que conecta las subestaciones Maitencillo y Pan de Azúcar. Se trata de un tendido de 200 km entre parte de las regiones de Atacama y Coquimbo. Esta porción se suma a la primera de 138 km, que está operando desde mediados de diciembre pasado.

Con estos hitos cumplidos, ahora la eléctrica está concentrada en completar la última y más extensa fase de la línea (400 km), entre las regiones de Coquimbo y la capital. De acuerdo con la última información proporcionada por la empresa, en términos generales la construcción presenta un avance de 87%, aunque en el detalle los trabajos alcanzan un 88% en la Región de Valparaíso y 67% en la Metropolitana.

Este mega línea involucra una inversión que supera los US$ 1.000 millones y obras que comenzaron a ejecutarse durante el primer trimestre de 2016.

La megalínea eléctrica considera instalar más de 1.700 torres que cruzan por veinte municipios, de los cuales 14 están en la zona correspondiente al tercer tramo, que desde el inicio ha sido el más complejo, ya que ha enfrentado la oposición de comunidades y de importantes empresarios que rechazan su trazado lo que incluso obligó a la empresa a realizar cambios en un proceso cuyo trámite también implicó retrasos.
