A: We currently have positions openings for moderators, beta readers, writers, and artists !! After our interest check closes, we will begin accepting Mod Apps on Feb 8th, and afterwards we will begin accepting Contributor Apps on Mar 14th !!

Q: Is there an expected skill ceiling for artists/writers or is this a novice-friendly project?

A: It's a novice-friendly project ! We are not limiting the project to artists/writers with high skills, though a background check will be conducted for our own safety and peacekeeping

Q: How will NSFW be separated from the non-NSFW works?

A: Any NSFW works will be posted with a different tag (#InterstellarTrystsNSFW) which can be muted by viewers ! All NSFW contributors MUST be 18+, or they will not be considered for this project.

Q: Will there be a Discord server or Group Chat for participants?

A: Yes ! We recommend all participants create/have access to a Discord account, as both Moderators and Contributors will be invited to a Discord server after their respective application period ends !!

I started searching for one-eyed beings in mythology and got reminded of Graeae from the Perseus myth. The three lovely ladies who shared one eye and one tooth, taking turns in using those.

They were daughters of Phorcys (a primordial sea god) and Ceto (better known as Cetus). The Chinese name for Cetus constellation is the same as the one used for Childe's Narwhal constellation, 鯨天座 (but not for the Narwhal itself, 吞星之鯨).

The moon sisters don't seem to be connected to the The Primordial One's four shades, so they have some other origin. A tryst with an interstellar whale sounds about right.

The Welkin Moon Blessing seems to be referring to one of the sisters, and primogems are coloured in the same way as everything related to memories/dreams in Hoyo games, including HSR Fuli followers/Garden of Recollection (people whose goal description match a certain interstellar whale's loot drop a little too well)

Also a ritual mentioned in Perinheri leads to title character seeing this:

Perhaps it was the fear brought on by the darkness combined with hunger and exhaustion, but Perinheri did indeed see an illusion. The crimson moon, hanging high in the pitch-dark night sky, suddenly turned around, revealing itself to be a titanic, horrified eye.

Perhaps moon sisters taking turns in the sky is not that different from sisters taking turns in using a single eye.

Oh, and Ceto's cult loved sacrificing maidens to sea monsters apparently (Andromeda says hi).

Also both Childe's TCG cards have moon imagery.

Also you know what the concept of three one-eyed sisters reminds me of? This painting in Inazuma (a land where they also befriended whales).

Crack/tinfoil addition:

Graeae are usually depicted as old women, however, in "Prometeus Bound" Aeschylus described them as siren-shaped monsters with the head and arms of old women and the bodies of swans.

Do you remember who also has both moon and swan symbolism? Our dear Arle. Also they dropped that book on us the patch before Arle for a reason.

I'm not saying she is one of the Moon Sisters but surely if Khaenri'ahns found one of their corpses they would absolutely use it for nefarious purposes. I know they would.

Past

Sara Baines met Logan’s father, shortly after her graduation party, on her way home In Portree on the Isle of Skye. She was tipsy and was trying to avoid a shadow pursuing her. The two had a tryst, a few nights and days of romantic dates and carnal pleasures. It all happened so fast and it ended just as quickly, like a ghost the handsome American man was gone and she was pregnant. Her family was very religious, she knew it would be wisest to end the pregnancy but she carried a flame for this mysterious man and held out a youthful naive hope he would come to her if she called. She moved to Glasgow and and got a job cleaning houses while she tried desperately to find him but it soon grew clear that she would never find him because he never wanted her to. By the time she realized her foolishness, how much she’d thrown away, it was too late, her baby boy would be born in a mere month. The young woman wept alone in her dingy apartment when suddenly the baby kicked, more like a nudge, prodding her into a new realization, very soon she was going to be a mother. Sara had decided to run away to have a baby and dammit that is exactly what she would do.

Logan Perseus Baines was born one clear night, it had been a fairly uneventful birth except for one thing, a small fire that caught on the sheets of the hospital bed. The flames were doused immediately, thanks to the quick thinking of a nurse but no one in the room could make sense of it. On some level Sara knew it was her Loggie, he had been so warm inside her, like a little fire, not even the winter snow or the coldest downpour seemed to chill her while she carried him.

Growing up without a father and a very poor mother had been difficult for the young lad and he’d gotten into many a fight in primary school. Logan had a fiery temper but he had a habit of collecting friends, odd ducks to protect, most of his fights were on account of someone else. Small fires had a tendency of following him and he was asked to leave two Primary schools before graduating to secondary, despite his stellar performance in class.

In secondary school it was clear that he wasn’t just going to be a brilliant child but a brilliant adult as well, he had a mind for science and math, a penchant for physics and above of space. His enthusiasm was met with scorn by his peers, frustrated, he fell in with the wrong crowd, experimented with drugs and alcohol, when he was sixteen he set a teacher’s car on fire and was expelled. The police were unable to convict him for the crime, He’d left no evidence but he was the one with the motive.

He moved back to Portree along with his mom, he finished his final year and began taking online classes to boost his grades. His record made it difficult to get into school but he hoped that if his grades were high enough…a few years passed and it seemed clear that this wasn’t meant to be. He got a job with a mechanic, studying as much as he could at night as hopelessness drove him to drink and to needles. His mother ran a bed and breakfast and while he wasn’t working at the shop or finding new and exciting ways to rile up the authorities,  he helped her the best he could.

A few month ago, some time after his twenty second birthday, a fight broke out in the bed and breakfast, bikers looking for more than his mother was willing to give. The fight turned into a fire, bigger than the hospital, bigger than the car, it burned and burned and Logan barely made it out alive with his mother. Neighbours reported the blaze and it was determined that Logan was responsible, he was arrested and bound for the slammer, unless some miracle occurred.

The miracle came in the form of the sudden appearance of Logan’s father, a powerful man in more ways than one, a sorcerer, just like Logan. As it turned out, he was the Bastard son of the Atwood patriarch, the leader of a powerful coven in America. The man agreed to help on the condition he move to town, live in secrecy and learn the craft, leaving Scotland and his mother behind with the money and means to establish herself again. Sara urged her son to take the chance, not wanting to see him to prison.

Logan arrived in Cresthill after a lengthy flight and was kept in a motel just outside of town. It wasn’t long until people in town found out, rumours started to fly and Logan was moved into the estate. He got a job as a mechanic and with the influence of his biological father was able to attend school for physics and astronomy. He has goals of his own but increasingly he’s getting the sense that he is about as free as he would have been in jail.

Love, Aliens, and Other Things

I’m not a religious dude at all. I lack the capacity for faith so all things christian, become an exhausting exercise in whimsy. For me, there’s no difference between the Jude-Christian rhetoric so many people all over the world blindly follow, and The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster or the Jedi Order. It’s all mythology to me and i approach it as such. When you do, you find that there are so many similarities and coincidences to ancient mythologies from Sumeria, Babylon, and Egypt. This tells me either modern religion is a distillation of those stories and THEIR myths are correct in telling our origins or the people who would become Jews just adopted a bunch of Babylonian stories, changing them to make their people the principal protagonists. Either way, the beginnings of Jude-Christian canon are rooted in the Babylonian legends; The List of Kings and the Annunaki.

True enough, the tales within the Enuma Elish, the Babylonian creation story, mirror that of the biblical Genesis to the letter, only, the Elish speaks as if Eden were a real place that existed in real time. There was a sense of divinity in their tales but you can tell by their description that their gods were very mortal and the miracles they weaved were based in technology. I imagine, over time, these spectacles of science were perverted into the divine miracles because the lesser people who would eventually become the Hebrew tribe, were literally too dumb to even understand secondhand accounts of these events. the extraterrestrial Annunki became angels, their spaceships became divine chariots, and their mastery of medicines become miracles. To the ancient of ancients, these things were physical, tangible, and real not questions of faith.

If you accept that the Enuma Elish has just s much validity as the Bible, like i do, then you have to accept that all these visitation accounts from around the ancient world are just as relevant. They all deserve the same type of objective eye. You have to look at the Mahabharata like an Indian version of Genesis. You have to take into account the very real knowledge the ancient Egyptians, ancient Mayans, and many Native American tribes possessed, was given to them by several, different, interstellar races. There are tales of underground ant people spoken of by the Hopi and the mystic powers of those who inhabited the Isle of Man off the coast of Brittan. Every one knows the legend of Atlantis but not so many know about the lost continent in the Pacific called Mu. There is a very detailed account of a strange woman who arrived from the se in what is clearly some sort of alien craft, told for generations by the Japanese and, indeed, Emperor Qin, the founder of all China, was said to be part dragon, himself. Now, the only conclusion i can draw from all of these fantastical tales is that we have been visited by people from the stars, for millennia. They have walked, step-in-step, with us as we evolved into the people we are today. Call them gods, angels, aliens, divine, damned, whatever; These beings exist. If you can believe that Jesus is the son of God, then Giglamesh can be 2/3 divine and Horus was born on December 25th and Merlin was half faye. There is no difference.

Now, all that said, i just watched a documentary about a guy who got f*cked by an alien. It’s call Love and Saucers and you should watch the f*ck out of it. dude’s name is David Huggins and his star-crossed lover was called Crescent. Huggins had started having experiences with alien encounters at a young age, around 7 or 8, and it was in this time that he first met he betrothed. Which makes her a interplanetary pedophile. She groomed Dave until he was almost grown, just this side of barely legal, and then harvested the f*ck out of that cherry-boy! Motherf*cker said his first astro-nut at 17 actually hurt like the dickens and that losing his virginity to intergalactic gash was a terrible experience. Bro, if Mass Effect and/or Star Trek has taught me anything, when a hot alien female shows up and offers you that deep space wet place, you thank her for the privilege, present your saddle, and let her ride! You about to see all of the stars tonight!

These warp drive trysts continued for years. He developed legitimate feeling for his extraterrestrial eve, so much so that he couldn’t cultivate a relationship with pedestrian earth girls beyond a single date. But he had Crescent so he didn’t mind. Dave, ever the gentleman, even got her flowers once, flowers she took after that interstellar booty call. What did she give him in return?  Like, 60 kids. Apparently, Mr. Huggins got that good-good in his balls. He tells the story of how Crescent revealed his paternity and it was basically, “Surprise, your little halfling baby is dying maybe?” I dunno, man, Dave said he touched it and came back to life and then he was led to a room full of his kids, all of who were in varying states of mortis. So, to save what can only be described as a brood, he went through this entire warehouse of infants, and touched them all, saving their lives. It was weird. How do i know this sh*t is weird? Because he painted that sh*t!

Bro, Dave has visual aids! He has painted hundreds of these encounters in kind of a halfway real, halfway surreal style.This sh*t was wild to actually see. Like, they gave him permission to capture all of this. He has very detailed, very pornographic scenes of his coitus with Crescent and it’s wildly unnerving to see. There are SO many of them just butt-ass naked together, Crescent riding the sh*t out of his dick, and one where he’s teaching his space baby to nurse but it’s just a picture of him with a whole ass alien titty in his mouth. No bullsh*t, he even painted a life size, full frontal, nude of his space wife. Apparently, she gave the okay to get drawn like one of them french girls! Ma has big ass eyes, like those grey aliens everyone talks about, and big ass titties! She, also, apparently believes in that scorched earth theory because ma is completely bald down there. Still, from his rather crude interpretation, ma is kind of a baddie. He says, several times, that she is beautiful so i believe it.

I believe Dave Higgins had these experiences. I also believe we are not alone in the universe. It doesn’t make mathematical sense that we would be. I think Dave had a legitimately enriching relationship and love for his space baby mama. Seriously, how is his story any different from Mary’s immaculate conception? Crescent was David’s angel and he gave her his baby and she, in turn, gave him one helluva story.

This week’s Q&A Thread begins now !!

Q: By what time will we be let known if we are picked?

A: After our Contributor Apps close on April 14th, our moderators will get right to work looking through each and every response. Depending on the total number of applicants, results will go out the earliest in the first week of May, and the least by May 12th!

Q: What is a working pitch?

A: A working pitch will be the idea a writer and artist will be working on together, and will be what their final work is based on! For instance, if a pair wanted to depict a Modern AU, with the writer making their fic and an artist depicting a scene from that fic, their “working pitch” would just be “HSR Modern Au” !!

Q: How should we view Tellonym answers without downloading the app?

A: Whenever we post a Tellonym response, be sure to open the whole tweet! We will copy and paste the full question and response in the thread, as well as usually a screenshot of said question !!

Q: How will moderators ensure that A.I. generated works are identified and disqualified?

A: Our moderators will be looking not only at the selected works of our participants, but also completing background checks with their given social medias, in order to ensure that only Non-AI contributors are accepted to the event

Q: What will be the expected ratio of visual works to written works?

A: For each pair, the artist will be expected to complete at least one (1) full-color piece depicting a scene from the paired writer’s fic, within a 4 month time frame. While we will only be REQUIRING one piece, artists are more than encouraged to complete as many as they find themselves able to in relation to the pitch !!

Q: Is this event for profit?

A: This event will NOT be for profit !! After all works are completed, they will be posted on the contributors’ social media for all to view, and retweeted via this main account !! If our contributors agree, these pieces may be eventually compiled into a DIGITAL zine, which will be distributed for free, with an optional donation portal for charity

Q: What are the requirements for this project?

A: Each WRITER will be expected to complete one (1) or more fics totalling to 10,000 words, and each ARTIST will be expected to complete at least one (1) full color piece, both within a 4 month time frame !!
