Billionaire friend of Prince of Wales dies after ‘swallowing a bee’

A billionaire friend of Prince William has died at the age of 53 after swallowing a bee, it has been claimed.

Sunjay Kapur, an Indian businessman, fell ill during a polo match in Windsor on June 12. Witnesses initially said that he was heard to have said “I’ve swallowed something”, prompting assumptions that he may have ingested an insect. Reports suggested he was stung by a bee in the mouth, potentially sparking anaphylactic shock and causing a heart attack. Others claimed he lost consciousness after bending over on his horse during a break in play.

Mr Kapur’s polo team, captained by Mark Tomlinson, was playing Sujan Indian Tigers in the subsidiary final of the Queen’s Cup when he fell ill. He had been playing at the prestigious Guards Polo Club in Windsor. A friend of Mr Kapur’s told Telegraph Sport: “He will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends – he was fun, kind and generous.

“He didn’t distinguish between his grooms or high net worth friends – when he had a party, everyone was invited and everyone was equal.”

According to Forbes, Mr Kapur, who was also a US citizen, had an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion. The University of Buckingham graduate took over Sona Comstar, his father’s auto components maker, in 2015. Surinder Kapur, a pioneer in the Indian auto parts industry, had founded the company in 1995, running it until his death. The company said in a statement: “A visionary leader, Kapur played a pivotal role in shaping Sona Comstar into a global mobility technology company built on innovation, sustainability, and purpose.”

The billionaire attended the Doon School in Uttarakhand, a 90-year-old boarding school in northern India, and later served on its board of governors. The school, which is modelled on British public schools and charges £13,406 per year for Indian students, described Mr Kapur as a “passionate fitness and sport enthusiast and a learner for life” It added: “He worked to make polo more accessible beyond its traditional roots. Mr Kapur’s enduring commitment to excellence, service, and community leaves a lasting legacy.”

Mr Kapur was friends with the Prince of Wales, and Karisma Kapoor, his his ex-wife, claimed in a 2016 interview that he once left her to look after their child to play polo with the Royal. She added: “[Sunjay] decided to carry on, leaving me behind to take care of our sick four-month-old son, just to play a Polo match with Prince William.”

Mr Kapur had children with the Bollywood star Ms Kapoor prior to their divorce in 2016. He later married Priya Sachdev, a former model and entrepreneur, with whom he had a son.

Just before his death, Mr Kapur posted a condolence message on X about Thursday’s fatal crash of an Air India flight in Ahmedabad. He wrote: ‘Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour.’

Misan Harriman: All Roads lead back, to Soho House & the person Rachel described as her "gay husband," Markus Anderson.

Anglo-Nigerian photographer, Misan Harriman, was instrumental in Meghan’s 2014 post-Trevor re-brand from Deal or No Deal Briefcase Girl to faux philanthropist/humanitarian.

Allegedly he's also gay, along with the other "boys" in MEgain's Soho House Circle. All in "contract" marriages with female "beards" like Rachel Meghan Markle. All liars.

According to Tom Bower's research (Revenge p. 63), Meghan was determined to use One Young World as her launching pad to celebrity philanthropy.

She was unknown to the OYW founders and event staff so she contacted Misan Harriman to ask for an introduction to his friend, tennis star, Boris Becker.

Becker was already scheduled to speak at the Dublin conference and Misan pitched the idea of Meghan's participation.

Becker referred Meghan to HIS AGENT, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne.

If I remember correctly, in Gina's pre-wedding articles and interviews, she mentioned that Meghan contacted her office in 2014 to express an interest in helping with the OYW conference(s). I had no idea that Meghan and Misan were friendly while Meghan cohabitated with Celebrity Chef Cory.

MEgain did not choose Misan for her engagement photographs. Misan has only been in the photography business for five (5) years.

Soho House members, the York Sisters, invited Misan to capture the moment Edo proposed to Beatrice. (sigh & smh) SAME Eugenie who told the press, "we really like her..." when someone (OMIT & Jessica) gave Camilla Tominey permission to publicize their affair. Camilla repeatedly writes that William MUST forgive Sparry. Tominey cares nothing for the Wales family or the country. Her interests are rooted in greed and irresponsible reporting to sell papers.

Notice The Meghans began paying Misan during MEGXIT. He captured the stills and video footage for Megflix. He is also paid by Invictus. There's a lot of cash flowing into Misan's bank account via The Meghan and their archeficicial business ventures. IRS, where you at???? 🤔

I'm not sure why I included the following in my original 2022 post: "Allegedly, during Harry's 2 nights in Tornto (babysat by Jason Knauf), just before he flew to the US-FL IG, Meghan (while cohabitating w/Cory & just back from spending Mother's Day weekend w/Cory's parents) Meghan told Harry about her interest in helping him with the Invictus Games."

One thing that stands out to me is how much both Meghans lied during the engagement interview:

Sparry & MEgain admitted (on international television) that they were secretly dating for 5-6 months BEFORE Tominey received the story.

Do the math. If they met in July of 2016 and had 5-6 months together in secret, Camilla's article would have been published in December or January, not October/November.

Camilla's article was published at the time of their Toronto (soho house) Halloween party with Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank: October 2016 = only 3 dating months.

If they began dating during Sparry's Spring promotional visit to Toronto for Ingriftus, then YES--- they were "together" (like spooning bananas) for five (5) months before MEgain leaked the details to Tominey

Sparry is just as much of a compulsive liar as his wife. He lies about the unnecessary details:

"we had to announce your megnantcy for the tour because you were showing..."

"It's true, you did blend in-----‐until our farewell week..."

I have future content coming about Victoria Hervey and Dan Wootton's despicable behavior during kategate. At the moment I wish she would stop extending open invitations for Sparry "to come home," when he's repeatedly been clear that America is his home & America is where he feels safe.

In my opinion, Sparry and MEgain deserve to be married to one another FOREVER!! Initially I viewed Sparry as her victim but just because Sparry is mentally & emotionally unstable and intellectually "sub-educational" (as Lady C would say), does not excuse his character issues: lying, cheating, stealing, grifting to achieve fame and fortune in America. People all over the world with low IQs know the difference between right and wrong. There is no excuse for Sparry's crimes.

Royal Families cannot expect their people to look past bad behavior. Charles got what he wanted, "Camilla." Despite the good press she receives, the majority of the world sees Charles as spoiled and feckless. I do think he will be surprised to learn just how many Brits wish he & Camilla would just go on a permanent holiday.

In a world of meritocracy, we have watched Meghan Markle, Sparry, and Andrew get away with murder. Zero on the job consequences for bad behavior------>Out of touch with everyday people.

Andrew & Sparry have caused permanent damage to brand BRF. When Charles chooses tone deafness over humility and shame, they are begging the people for a Republic.

Normal people pay a price for their unwise decisions. Selfish Charles chose Jesus' resurrection day to rub Andrew into the faces of the British people and global royal watchers.

People won't take these moments of pure contempt for the will and opinions of the people and just let it all go due to cancer. Charles is still seen as a feckless king who will ultimately destroy this monarchy because it appears he cannot or will not manage his household.

Go to church Andrew & Fergie, but not in front of the cameras and not at the expense of the taxpayers. These are not difficult situations for Buckingham Palace. Does anyone have a working brain? It's as if Charles is deliberately destroying everything his mother & father worked so hard to preserve.

I agree @sassyfrassboss and don't get me started on Sarah's health related virtue signals. Why is it so difficult for Fergie to stop talking? And why won't Andrew go away and live out a solitary life? No one wants to shake hands with Epstein's pal. No charity wants to be represented by Epstein's pal. Consequences.

Andrew is reviled and despised because he refuses to accept responsibility for his unwise choices. He has no remorse for choosing "sleazy e & co" over his family and his country. It's not complicated.

I have drafts of future content about the York's. Surmise it to say, Andrew and Sarah are just not bright people. What's worse is they are selfish and refuse to step out of the limelight to give their daughters & grandkids a fresh start.

Unfortunately, like The Meghans, Eugenie was willing to exploit the identities of other people's children while concealing the face of her own child with stickers.

Ultimately Eugenie used the Jubilee to change course. She finally held up the child to show his face. Cute child. What's not cute is the elitist mindset that "blue blood makes us extra special."

After visiting Davos, Eugenie was quick to parrot her elitist, WEF talking points. There was no critical thinking about the issue(s) (like, "hmm, my husband wears glasses"), just a regurgitation of elitist talking points.

No one wants to see Andrew on Easter Sunday or for that matter at any other holiday. Seeing him jolly on parade is a slap in the face to all who had a deep affection for Queen Elizabeth's virtues and basic human decency. It's past time for him to retire from public life.

Rolling up to Easter service as though the York's are respectable members of society who serve Jesus Christ is absolutely shameful.

Not because of a liar named Virginia and her fake photo, but because of Andrew's REAL Central Park, NYC photos and the video footage of Andrew coming and going from Epstein's NYC home. Not to mention their big Epstein dinner with guests like Katie Couric, George Stephanopoulos and Woody Allen---- to name just a few.

Andrew used tax payer's money to travel in support of Jeffrey Epstein upon his release from prison.

A man who was convicted of sexually assaulting under age girls served about 12 months in prison and upon release he threw a NYC party for his royal pal Andrew! The Palace was "too honorable" to reply, "No thank you. Have a nice life." Andrew seems too self centered to concern himself with the commandments to "avoid even the appearance of evil" and to "honor" his mother & father's legacies.

Alvin Childress

Alvin Childress (September 15, 1907 – April 19, 1986) was an American actor, who is best known for playing the cabdriver Amos Jones in the 1950s television comedy series Amos 'n' Andy.

Alvin Childress was born in Meridian, Mississippi. He was educated at Rust College, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. When he initially entered college, Childress intended to become a doctor, enrolling in typical pre-med courses. He had no thoughts of becoming involved in acting, but became involved in theater outside of classes. Childress and Rex Ingram in the Federal Theatre Project production of Haiti (1938)

Childress's first wife was the former Alice Herndon, who established herself as a successful writer and actress under the name of Alice Childress (1916–1994); the couple was married from 1934 to 1957 and had a daughter, Jean Rosa. From 1961 to 1973, Childress worked as an unemployment interviewer for the Los Angeles Department of Personnel and in the Civil Service Commission of Los Angeles County.

Childress moved to New York City and became an actor with Harlem's Lafayette Players, a troupe of stock players associated with the Lafayette Theatre. Soon, he was engaged as an actor in the Federal Theater Project, the American Negro Theater, and in all-black race film productions such as Keep Punching (1939). His greatest success on the stage was his performance as Noah in the popular drama, Anna Lucasta, which ran for 957 performances. He also worked at Teachers College of Columbia University. Childress also operated his own radio and record store in New York City. When he learned about casting for the Amos 'n' Andy television series, Childress decided to audition for a role. He was hired a year before the show went on the air.

In 1951, he was cast as the level-headed, hard-working and honest Amos Jones in the popular television series, The Amos 'n' Andy Show, which ran for two years on CBS. Childress originally tried out for the role of The Kingfish, but Charles Correll and Freeman Gosden cast him as Amos. Since he had been hired a year before the show began, Gosden and Correll turned the search for an actor to play "The Kingfish" over to Childress. In a 1979 interview, Childress shared information about some of the candidates. Cab Calloway was considered but found wanting by Gosden because of his straight hair. Childress said there were many famous men, with and without actual acting experience, who wanted to play the role. Eventually, old-time vaudeville comedian Tim Moore was cast as the Kingfish.

Shortly after the television show had ended, plans to turn it into a vaudeville act were announced in 1953, with Childress, Williams and Moore playing the same roles as they had in the television series. It is not known if there were any performances. In 1956, after the television show was no longer in production, Childress and some of his fellow cast members: Tim Moore, Spencer Williams, and Lillian Randolph along with her choir, began a tour of the US as "The TV Stars of Amos 'n' Andy". The tour was halted by CBS as the network considered this an infringement of their rights to the program and its cast of characters. Despite the threats which ended the 1956 tour, Childress, along with Moore, Williams and Johnny Lee were able to perform one night in 1957 in Windsor, Ontario, apparently without legal action. When he tried for work as an actor, Childress found none as he was typecast as Amos Jones. For a short time, Childress found himself parking cars for an upscale Beverly Hills restaurant.

Childress also appeared in roles on the television series Perry Mason, Sanford and Son, Good Times and The Jeffersons and in the films Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) and The Day of the Locust (1975). When Childress appeared as a minister in a 1972 episode of Sanford and Son, he was reunited with two former cast members: Lillian Randolph of Amos 'n' Andy in the role of Aunt Hazel and Lance Taylor, Jr. of Anna Lucasta, with the role of Uncle Edgar.

Childress suffered from diabetes and other ailments. He died at age 78 on April 19, 1986, in Inglewood, California. He was buried at National Memorial Harmony Park in Landover, Maryland.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Meghan — didn’t even know who she was when the KP statement came out, even though I had been into Suits the first season — but I fell more in the camp of “Harry seems happy so she must be cool! Let’s support her!”

They announced the engagement and I was still on board. Even told my boss that I’d be taking some time off in the spring (thinking they’d do the royal thing and marry on a Friday). Watched the engagement interview, thought they were cute together, they were having fun with it. Cool, cool, cool. Realized I would be in London two months after the wedding, got super excited, planned to buy some of the memorabilia.

But then they announced they were marrying on a Saturday, for the Americans back home, and it’s starting at 12pm too, for the Americans back home…that’s kinda weird, prioritizing a television broadcast for 300 million strangers over family traditions but you do you, I guess.

Then the perfume ads with the $60K see-through gown that she’s never worn again showed up and I noped out of there faster than a bank robber in a getaway car.

Which is about the same time I discovered the Daily Mail comments section, kept reading about these “three blind mice” on tumblr and fired up the old blog to find out what was going on and found my people. Then they started getting weird too and I found the calmer, more critical-thinky, more rational side of *waves hand at everything* with Plant and Soap, who eventually led me to you, Empress, Honey, Helena, and a few others.

(Also I didn’t buy the H&M memorabilia when I was in London, and I even did the Windsor Castle, KP, and BP staterooms tours. I remember walking into the one of the gift shops and the shelves were so overcrowded with H&M wedding stuff. It was so obvious nothing was moving and no one was buying. One of the shop girls told me that the Royal Collection had overestimated the interest in H&M - the projections were based on Will and Kate’s collections with adjustments for US sales because of Meghan - and the RCT was really scrambling to sell it off so everything was like 80% discounted. Eugenie and Jack got a much smaller order of their collection and was actually selling better than H&M’s, even full priced.)

Since I didn't like her straight away but it was hard to find people that felt the way I did at the time I actually googled "people who hate Meghan Markle" and Tumblr popped up. I created a blog (shut that one down and created this one) and the rest is history as you say.

I will say 2017-2018 on here was WILD!

The reason she wanted the US audience was so she could have more "viewers" than William and Catherine did. Had nothing to do with her wanting her fellow Americans to tune in and everything to do with her having to have it bigger and better than Catherine. Hence the massive amounts of memorabilia left over. I bet they demanded more items or the same amount be created as for William and Catherine. Also, remember this was when Harry and Meghan were CONVINCED that they were the STARS of the BRF and everyone else was boiling with jealousy over how amazing Meghan was at her new role and she was the best pre-duchess to ever duchess and all the others were just plain ole jelly. So it stands to reason that Meghan 100% believed her face would outsell Catherine's.

But Henry is definitely more emotional and internalized with how he expresses himself. Much more in line with how people see royals." Galitzine relished the challenge of portraying Henry's vulnerabilities and his own struggles in sharing them with Alex. "As men, we find it hard to express ourselves and express our feelings," he says. "But that was a fun thing to explore from an acting perspective. [I was] trying to understand that this person is entirely trapped by his upbringing and his family. And the wedge being placed between his family and the person he loves is a very difficult thing to contend with. That was probably the most challenging, trying to make that authentic and real."

Apparently she's the 'new royal star' as per an anon I got, and last I heard she was briefing at being cut from the Coronation guest list and then 2 months later was front and center in the royal box at wimbledon. For me, the basic thing is just don't be so hypocritical over everything, if you like being a 'royal' then don't pretend otherwise, and if you don't like the concept of the monarchy then don't jump at every chance to get the perks which come along with that monarchy.

Queer Grove Podcast: A Safe Haven For Queer People

Groups that have been discriminated against, ostracized, and persecuted need a safe haven. For example, the Green Book was a guidebook for African American roadtrippers. It was founded by Victor Hugo Green, an African American postal worker from New York City, and was published annually from 1936 to 1966. This was during the era of Jim Crow laws, when open and often legally prescribed discrimination against African Americans, mainly, and other non-whites was widespread.

Its summer 2025 programming includes Queer Grove — a new podcast documenting the life and times of the Grove through the voices of those who helped create the LGBTQ+ safe haven — including Joel Kim Booster, Bianca Del Rio, Jimbo the Drag Clown, and more).

The summer program also includes Making Miss Cherrys, a documentary film that chronicles an All-Stars iteration of the legendary Cherry Grove drag pageant.

The CGAC is dedicated to the preservation of the social, political, and cultural history of Cherry Grove, Fire Island, New York. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and share this history through the archival protection and storage of Cherry Grove’s historic artifacts, including documents, photographs, and film. “Save the past. Make it last.”

This summer, the Cherry Grove Archives Collection will present a range of exciting and thought-provoking programming, including but not limited to a brand-new podcast, a film premiere, art walks, and much more.

Queer Grove is a brand-new podcast presented by the Cherry Grove Archives Collection exploring a small beach community that has been a safe haven for queer people for almost 100 years, is hosted by acclaimed documentary filmmaker, Parker Sargent. Through her work over the last decade, Sargent has created projects that celebrate the character and history of queer communities on Fire Island and beyond.

MAKING MISS CHERRYS — A FILM PREMIERE

Making Miss Cherrys is a documentary film by Parker Sargent that chronicles Timothy Byars, also known as Sabel Scities, as he competes in the Miss Cherrys All-stars pageant in 2022. Produced in coordination with the Cherry Grove Archives Collection, the film celebrates the thirty-year history of the competition, which began in 1992, to honor local drag artists who were creating a thriving queer culture in Cherry Grove, Fire Island.

For three decades, community members have packed the outdoor bar and restaurant, Cherrys on the Bay, to watch local queens perform and compete for the Miss Cherrys crown. Over the years, it has become one of the summer’s most anticipated events, celebrating the camp and glamour of the Grove.

After thirty years of the competition, the Miss Cherrys Allstars Pageant was launched in 2019 to bring back past performers who have snatched the crown, and Timothy Byers (and Miss Cherrys 2013), would be crowned the Allstars winner, after a long road of trials, tribulations, and triumphs. Sabel’s determination outlasted the Covid-19 crisis; she continued to create and craft her performance package with her team over great distances after moving to Hawaii, and she would be going up against some of the most talented drag performers working in the industry right now.

Follow Sabel’s journey and learn about the fabulous history of the Miss Cherrys pageant, with appearances from previous winners such as Charity Charles, Ginger Snap, Brenda Dharling and Boudoir LeFleur.

A live screening premiere of Making Miss Cherrys will take place at the Cherry Grove Community House and Theater on Saturday, July 26th at 8pm ET. If you can’t attend the in-theater screening, you can watch the simultaneous live-streaming of the film. In-theater screening tickets are on sale now on the Cherry Grove Archives Collection website for $40, and live-streaming sales will begin June 19th. About Sabel Scities

Sabel Scities (Timothy Byars) is a drag performer and community advocate who has spent the past two decades finding ways to connect, create, and give back through her art. Her journey began at The Escape, an all-ages nightclub in Portland, Oregon, that became a second home for many. It was there that Sabel, along with a chosen family of artists and outsiders, explored creativity, identity, and what it meant to build something together.

In Austin, Texas, she helped shape the local drag community by starting a class that welcomed new performers into the fold — more than 40 of whom went on to take the stage themselves. While living in Hawaii, she worked in harm reduction and public health, offering syringe exchange services, HIV/STI testing, and honest, stigma-free education around sexual health and substance use.

Now based in New York, Sabel holds the title of Miss Hell’s Kitchen, through which she’s helped raise funds for The Center — supporting mental health services, gender-affirming care, and spaces that uplift BIPOC and LGBTQ+ voices. She’s grateful to be featured in “Making Miss Cherrys,” a documentary by Parker Sargent, and to share in a story that celebrates community, resilience, and the queer legacy of Fire Island.

SAFE/HAVEN- A BOOK REISSUE

The SAFE/HAVEN exhibition, curated and presented by Cherry Grove Archives Collection, has received rave reviews from Time Out, Vogue, Newsday, CBS News, The Advocate, and The New York Times. “SAFE/HAVEN” has been displayed at The Stonewall National Museum, at The New York Historical Society, and presented as a Walking Tour in Cherry Grove, Fire Island.

The CGAC has created a limited edition book of the SAFE/HAVEN exhibition photos in a high-quality 77-page book that also includes amazing ephemera and interactive audio clips from longtime Grove residents, all of which showcase the joy and complexity of gay life in the 1950s Cherry Grove.

I thank God for the future courageous matriarchs, like the fictional Emily Gilmore, who will set MEgain straight in the coming decades. Unfortunately we won't be privy to these iconic moments, but they will occur and it's what she deserves.

There is something quite satisfying about watching multiple versions of self absorbed, smug, low rent harlots get their comeuppance through the "class" of people they worked to impress by stepping on top of innocents.

I dropped out of Stars Hollow & the Gilmore family about 20 years ago. As I catch up with the characters, I'm delighted to see multiple versions of the FUTURE social pariah, Mrs. Harry Markle Mountbatten Windsor-?______, receive her comeuppance.

What’s it like, living in Windsor Bay? Did you ever picture yourself settling down here or did you always know this would be your home?

“Well to be honest I didn’t even know about Windsor Bay until I moved here.” Henry shrugged. “I kinda fled from my life in my hometown. Things were getting too serious there so I just kinda left.” Henry remembered that night. He was in an engagement he didn’t really want to be in so he just packed up some clothes, got into his car, and just drove without knowing where he was going. He drove until the sun came up in the morning. He got a motel in Windsor Bay and just stayed in town ever since. He slept in his car for a few weeks until he could find an apartment, and has just stayed there ever since. “But yeah, this is my home now. I like it here.”

What’s your family like? Are you still close, or have you blocked all their numbers?

Henry Smirked at the question and shook his head. “I’m not really close with any of them. They didn’t love the fact that I dropped out of college. I didn’t even want to go in the first place. They’re lucky I even made it for a semester, let alone a whole year.” He fidgeted uncomfortably in his chair. He really only saw most of his family during the holidays, besides his sister Annalise who would insist on visiting him every now and again. “My sister Annalise, she does visit. I think she’s concerned for me or whatever, but I’m fine. I have friends here. She probably feels bad about things that happened in the past. Not anything she could’ve done about it, I mean she’s like four years younger than me.”

Garth Hudson, master instrumentalist and last surviving member of The Band, dies at 87

"In recent years, Hudson struggled financially. He had sold his interest in the Band to Robertson and went bankrupt several times. He lost one home to foreclosure and saw many of his belongings put up for auction in 2013 when he fell behind on payments for storage. Hudson’s wife, Maud, died in 2022. They had a daughter, Tami Zoe Hill.

The son of musicians, Hudson was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1937 and received formal training at an early age. He was performing on stage and writing before he was even a teenager, although by his early 20s he had soured on classical music and was playing in a rock band, the Capers."

"He was the last to join the Band and_ _“It was a job,” Hudson said of the Band in a 2002 interview with Maclean’s. “Play a stadium, play a theater. My job was to provide arrangements with pads underneath, pads and fills behind good poets. Same poems every night.”

"You would not think it to look at him, but Garth was famous long ago as the musical colorist for The Band, a group that rivaled The Beatles or anyone else for their songwriting, performance, and all-around aura.

"These days they are reduced on radio to a handful of famous tracks, but their potency cannot be overstated. They first performed “The Weight,” now a modern hymn, and a partnership with Bob Dylan offered a peaceful musical refuge amid what could be (not always negatively) described as overwhelming artistic chaos.

The Band made it clear from the beginning that it was not like everybody else. The first notes of the first song of their first album, “Tears of Rage,” sounded mournful and dissonant to the average pop fan. Many of us had to listen to the record several times before we were able to “get it.”

Not at all like today, where kids listen to a few notes of one song before skipping to the next. The Band would never have survived such a lack of scrutiny.

There are other similarities between The Band and The Beatles."

"Robertson once argued that "Garth was far and away the most advanced musician in rock 'n' roll." With Hudson, Helm said they "really thought we were the best band in the world." His in-concert showcase found Hudson performing an extended introduction to "Chest Fever" on a signature Lowrey organ that became known as the "Genetic Method." Hudson also played all of the woodwinds and brass on 1975's deeply underrated Northern Lights-Southern Cross even as he began mastering synthesizers.

He could be professorial, with an interior manner that befuddled some interviewers. Late in life, Hudson would only talk to them after midnight. He might wander into a song in the middle of an answer – or he might not answer at all."

"One of his best-received projects found Hudson recruiting and collaborating on old Band material with a series of stars including Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn and Cowboy Junkies for 2010's Garth Hudson Presents: A Canadian Celebration of the Band.
