BASICS  !

NAME . Tetsurô Kuroo. NICKNAME . Some childhood friends he has fallen out of touch with and Kenma’s parents used to call him Tetsu-kun (Kenma’s parents still do). Kenma has always called him “Kuro”, and Bokuto (affectionately) sometimes calls him “stupid cat” - a favour Kuroo gladly repays, with the owl edition of the name. Some mean-spirited tongues sometimes venture to calling him “rooster head”, and generally live to regret it. AGE .  18 (in 2012) / 28 (in 2022). PROFESSION . 3rd year highschool student at Nekoma High (2012) / Sports Promoter at the Japanese Volleyball Association (2022).

Kenma may think he has forgotten (and perhaps a part of him prefers that Kenma thinks that), but he hasn’t - not really. He has largely addressed and resolved his issues today, but unfamiliar crowds and groups still make him nervous. He has just become very, very good at hiding it. // Tetsurô’s mother walked out on the family when he was eight, and his father gave up on looking for her after week, even months of frantic search. For a long time, Tetsurô didn’t ask questions out loud... but shortly before graduating from college, he did some digging around. As of 2022, both he and his sister (who joined in his efforts) know where Nami lives, and have a rough idea of what she does, but have never made contact with her.

SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS . No notable scars - all the ones he gathered from volleyball have long healed and faded. Sports a few moles on his back that he monitors because you can never be too careful, but he doesn’t think about them that much.

ABILITIES  /  POWERS . Wasn’t nicknamed “the scheming captain” for nothing. Master manipulator with a knack for provocation and moving people into action by taunting them. Strategist to his core. A great communicator, silver-tongued and charismatic who can convince pretty much anyone to do anything for him before they even realise they have been roped into his antics. Also a great teacher who easily identifies what motivates and interests people, and a good leader. Fairly decent bass player. Definitely a member of the super volleyball idiots club. RESTRICTIONS . Can overstep boundaries when thinking he’s only playfully taunting others. Easily comes across as a bit of a bastard who does nothing without an ulterior motive or agenda. Very good at making enemies.

He does have a bit of a soft spot for blues and jazz, but he’ll listen to almost anything.  BOOK GENRE . Biographies and popular science books. He doesn’t read much fiction - he doesn’t have much time to read, so when he does, he likes to learn something as he does. He goes through little periods of interest in a specific subjects, and will only read about that one thing for three months, before deciding he knows enough and finding a new topic to explore. MOVIE GENRE . A big fan of documentaries for the same reason, but will watch almost anything as long as it’s good. CURSE WORD .  “Dammit”. SCENTS . Plants, coffee, fresh laundry.

SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS. From twenty years of fighting and survival, all along her body, -especially on her arms and hands- Robin has scars that range from barely there to deep angry marks. Most noticeable are the star shaped gouges from Diamante’s spikes that now sit atop the long gashes she received from the torture she received on Tequila Wolf. She also has one on the opposite side of her chest from her heart where Crocodile impaled her on his hook. Thankfully, he just barely missed her lungs.

ABILITIES  /  POWERS. Hana Hana No mi - After eating a cursed fruit, Robin can clone/bloom any part of her body on any surface as many times as she likes and as large as she likes. As for abilities, she’s a master of escape and espionage, holds vast knowledge from her many years of worldly travel, high pain tolerance and stamina, above average athleticism and strength, & Kenbunshoku Haki (described in the abilities section of my about page & the wiki).

RESTRICTIONS . She cannot swim, the curse of the devils fruit that she ate took away her ability to swim and she now sinks like stone in seawater. She can also feel any damage her phantom limbs acquire which requires a high pain tolerance, & if the wound is severe enough, it is mirrored on her true, physical body. Robin also has severe PTSD and Anxiety.

LOVES FLOWERS -  Robin has always loved nature and has taken to gardening and growing her favorite flowers. She’s got quite the green thumb. 

ENJOYS TERRIBLE JOKES - They make her giggle, though she’ll be inclined to respond with her own morbid ones.

NAME . Shinsuke Kita. NICKNAME . Besides his grandmother calling him “Shin-chan”, he is not aware of any nickname that may have been bestowed upon him. He has taken note of the twins sticking to “Kita-san” before, and being the only one on their team to have the ‘honour’ of the ‘-san’ honorific: he has often wondered if it was a sign of respect, distance, or both. AGE .  18 (in 2012) / 28 (in 2022). PROFESSION . 3rd year highschool student at Inarizaki High (2012) / rice farmer in Hyôgo (2022).

PERSONAL  !

MORALITY .  LAWFUL / chaotic / GOOD / neutral / evil / true . RELIGION .  Nourishes a more or less distant relationship with the shinto traditions his grandmother raised him into.  SINS .  greed / gluttony / SLOTH / lust / pride / envy / wrath . He doesn’t like the crackle of static electricity in his clothes, the artificiality of plastic and cheap fabric, and would sooner find a 9-5 job than touch anything resembling that slime thing he’s seen people play with on the internet. He’s grateful the twins never thought of pranking him with one of these. // Not exactly a secret, but he watches every one of Aran, Suna an Atsumu’s games on their respective teams. If he can’t make it to Onigiri Miya for a game, he’ll drive down to the village to watch it from the local izakaya, or from his computer at home - but he prefers to watch it with other people (and has maybe converted the entire village to volleyball by accident).

SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS . Kita has always been careful about his health and physical condition - and has been fortunat enough to avoid major injuries throughout his life. He does however bear a scar on his forehead, just under his hairline, from falling after a dog played a little too roughly with him at the park when he was a child. His hair usually hides it, and you wouldn’t know it’s there unles he told you. 

ABILITIES  /  POWERS . Very focused and dedicated. As a teenager, very mature forhis age. Commands an air of natural authority without ever having to raise his voice or hand. Persistent and consistent in everything he puts his mind to, high achiever who sets high standards from himself and inadvertently passes them onto others. Depending on who you ask: an intimidating aura, or a calming aura. Probably the most reliable person you’ll ever meet.  RESTRICTIONS . Very reserved and seemingly “perfect” (by an adult’s standards for a child, anyway), he accidentally comes across as inaccessible and scary and he knows it. It does bother him a little, as it always used to put him at odds with most people his age. Back at school, he didn’t use to have many friends, besides Aran and Ômimi, and he has always been aware that his stern demeanour painted him as... austere, and possibly boring, in the eyes of his peers. Things improved once they all grew into adulthood; and Kita himself feels a little more comfortable in his own skin and his own age.

FOOD . Tofu hamburger. DRINK .  Tea. Any tea. Give him all the tea. PIZZA TOPPING . Four cheese. COLOR . The greens of his rice fields, and the reds and golds of the trees on the mountains in autumn. MUSIC GENRE . Pretty much anything that comes on the radio. He has a playlist to which he adds anything his friends recommend to him and that he has enjoyed. He likes the thought of it being a work of collaborative enjoyment. BOOK GENRE . Travel diaries. MOVIE GENRE . A complete sucker for the wuxia genre. He loves the incredible visuals and costume designs paired with the remarkable craft of the actor/martial artists, and how the camera lets their work speak for itself with minimal editing. CURSE WORD .  He almost never swears. SCENTS . Petrichor, cooked rice, wild flowers.

Doesn’t really have any, but may have been a little mortified the day he heard Tanaka refer to him as “pipsqueak”.Will fight tooth and nail to defend his title as “Karasuno’s spear”. AGE .  16 (in 2012) / 26 (in 2022). PROFESSION . 1st year highschool student at Karasuno High (2012) / electrical engineer at Iris Koyama, contemplating a change of career (2022).

PERSONAL  !

MORALITY .  LAWFUL / chaotic / GOOD / neutral / evil / true . RELIGION .  Agnostic. SINS .  greed / gluttony / sloth / lust / PRIDE / ENVY / wrath . VIRTUES .  chastity / charity / DILIGENCE / humility / kindness / PATIENCE / justice . KNOWN LANGUAGES . Japanese, some English, though it was never his srong subject. SECRETS .  Is slightly hypocondriac. It isn’t to the extent that he is a germaphobe or has any real fear of illness, but he does have a tendency to imagine that he has appendicitis the second he has a stomach ache (he has already had it). It extends to over-worrying a little over other people too (shoutout to Yachi and her heart popping out of her throat). // Tsukishima is the only person who knows he has ever been bullied. He hasn’t even told his parents - who suspected it, but could never pry it out of him. // After highschool, he starts occasionally wearing nail polish. It looks petty darn cool on some of his favourite musicians, so he figured he’d give it a try.

SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS . Tadashi’s most notable physical feature are his freckles. They are mainly located on his cheekbones and nose, but he has some on his shoulders and arms that pop more visibly during summer when it’s sunny. Less noticeably, he also has some light scars left from his (in)glorious teenage acne days. They sort of blend with his freckles, but boy did he hate puberty. He didn’t have much of it, but to an already insecure boy who would have given almost anything to be given a different skin, developing acne on top of his freckles was a bit of a personal nightmare come true. 

ABILITIES  /  POWERS . A single-minded determination once he sets his mind to something - no matter how long it takes him to get to where he wants to be, or how arduous and painful the road lying ahead is. Fiercely loyal and driven by his dedication to his friends and loved ones. Despite initial shyness and reserve, possesses a surprising ease at making friends and connecting with people who are, on the surface, “out of his comfort zone”. Nerves of steel once he develops the adequate strategies to work around a few stress triggers.  RESTRICTIONS . Suffers from pretty severe bouts of anxiety. Childhood bullying has shot down his self-confidence and self-esteem - even with the steps he has taken early on, like joining the volleyball club where he properly meets Tsukishima, the damage has been long-lasting. Wary of strangers, it takes him a while to warm up to people, and large groups make him uncomfortable. Tendency to catastrophise. Prone to panic attacks. Volleyball helps him a lot in coping with and learning to manage these issues, but they persist into adulthood. Is also probably the clumsiest person you’ll ever meet - even at 26, he’s still learning how to operate those long gangly limbs of his for anything that’s not a jump float serve.

FOOD . Sloppy fries. DRINK .  Bubble tea. PIZZA TOPPING . Teriyaki chicken. COLOR . Greens, browns, reds, veers towards more earthy colours. MUSIC GENRE . J-rock, punk rock, hard rock, you can pry rock kid Yamaguchi off my cold dead hands.  BOOK GENRE . Enjoys reading manga more than books, though he’ll rad almost anything his friends recommend him. Has established a personal challenge for himself to get into thrillers and horror fiction, but every time he starts a new book, he’s too frightened to sleep at night and jumps at the slightest sound in his house or apartment - and gives up on his personal challenge. Repeat a couple of months later. It’s a whole cycle. Utterly unable to explain why horror movies don’t phase him in the slightest (he will sit stone-faced through Ju-On) but books are a no-go.  MOVIE GENRE . Horror. And romance, but no one is allowed to be find out about the latter. Which is a complete sham because who doesn’t like a nice feel-good movie, from time to time??  CURSE WORD .  "Crap”. SCENTS . Coffee, hot chocolate, lemon and other fruit scents.

BOTTOM OR TOP . Switch who tends to align with his partner’s preferences. Don’t mistake him for a pushover, though. SINGS IN THE SHOWER . Yes, and was absolutely mortified that one time he forgot he was not alone in the showers at training camp. LIKES PUNS . Ew no, lame. They do make him laugh sometimes.

NAME . Agnès Ozu. NICKNAME . Her siblings call her Annie - some of her teammates and friends have picked up on it too.  AGE .  17 (in 2012) / 27 (in 2022). PROFESSION . 2nd year highschool student at Niiyama Girls High (2012) / independent documentary filmmaker (2022).

PERSONAL  !

MORALITY .  LAWFUL / chaotic / good / NEUTRAL / evil / true . RELIGION .  Atheist. SINS .  greed / gluttony / SLOTH / lust / PRIDE / envy / wrath . VIRTUES .  chastity / charity / DILIGENCE / humility / kindness / patience / JUSTICE . KNOWN LANGUAGES . Japanese, some French, some English. SECRETS . She contemplated quitting volleyball after her best friend injured herself and had to leave the team ( she blamed herself for the whole ordeal, until her coach talked her out of it ) // She still hasn’t seen Citizen Kane, but has already had full on conversations about the movie because nobody in film school can shut up about it, so she feels like she has watched it three times over already. //  When she was a little girl, she thought that if she talked to trees, they could understand and respond by ruffling their leaves. She still talks to one massive oak in her parents’ backgarden, and she would bury herself under it if anyone were to find out.

SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS . Busted and chipped skin at her thumbs and wrists from badly receiving powerful spikes (they disappear after she stops playing at university). A very old cut on the inside of her palm from playing with one of her father’s dollmaking tools when she was a child. Stretch marks on her thighs. 

ABILITIES  /  POWERS . Fearless receiver in volleyball, particularly persistent and consistent - the kind of libero hitters try to avoid. Excellent ball control, generally keeps her cool and quickly adapts, anticipates, and reacts. Ground coverag and following up after a block is where she stands out the most, allowing her hitters and setter to push for attacks without worrying too much about defense. Passionate filmmaker, creative and a risk-taker with form and experimentation. Analytical, curious, and open-minded. Likes to use her job as an excuse to learn about different things. Knows a fair bit about arts and crafts, and photography. Good driver. RESTRICTIONS . Tall for a libero. Has to bend her knees more, runs out of stamina faster and is more prompt to cramps and joint pains. In her films, tends to avoid inputting her own opinions or feelings, and to give her subjects the entire stage - her early films can err on the side of feeling impersonal. Poor public speaker. Not the greatest project management skills - hence prefers to work alone and do as much as she can herself. Has one (1) producer and one (1) editor she works with as much as possible because they have found a good rhythm together - panics if she has to change teams.
