High tariffs become 'real' with our first $36K bill
We're no stranger to tariff bills, although they have definitely ramped up over the last two months. However, this is our first 'big bill', where a large portion was subjected to a 125%+20%+25% import markup. Unlike other taxes like sales tax where we collect on behalf of the state and then submit it back at the end of the month, or income taxes, where we only pay if we are profitable, tariff taxes are paid before we sell any of the products and are due within a week of receipt which has a big impact on cash flow.
In this particular case, we're buying from a vendor, not a factory, so we can't second-source the items (and these particular products we couldn't manufacture ourselves even if we wanted to, since the vendor has well-deserved IP protections). And the products were booked & manufactured many months ago, before the tariffs were in place. Since they are electronics products/components, there's a chance we may be able to request reclassification on some items to avoid the 125% 'reciprocal' tariff, but there's no assurance that it will succeed, and even if it does, it is many, many months until we could see a refund.
We'll have to increase the prices on some of these products, but we're not sure if people will be willing to pay the higher cost, so we may well be 'stuck' with unsellable inventory that we have already paid a large fee on.

Descriptions & preview pics under the cut:
IP EP Mermaid Eel INSP Tail for Y/A-AM (Mpreg Morphs) V2
This tail is TRASH y'all.

The tail is bad; I'm no mesher.
I struggled with the joints--the MURF JOINTS tail (above pic) is the version I used in my gameplay pics, with my own manual joints which TBH I like better (especially when on land & using poses!), but which are way more crunchy & off-balance/crooked. The EA JOINTS tail (below pic) uses default joints, which I'm NOT a fan of on land, but which are smoother swimming underwater in diving lots. So I decided to share both with y'all -- You can only install ONE file at a time though!
Also, I added Pregnancy Morphs, but there's a waistline seam I can't get rid of, so you've been warned.

Gills Skin + Indogene + Ephemera Tan Skinblend

I merged @niobecremisi's Gills & Indogene skins with Ephemera's color ramps to make this skinblend--my very first one! (And it shows!) It's specifically for Y/A-AM sims. (I threw in skins for the other ages & genders--however, I didn't test any of them but the Baby age state, so you've been warned (again).)
Taty Demon Skin as Tatt (BODY)

Full Body tattoo (CmarNYC Tatt Mod REQUIRED).
Toe Claws ACCs (for EA Male Feet)
Recolorable, Y/A-AM Everyday-Outerwear, found under Socks. Best suited for EA's default feet, not Sexy Feet.
TS4 to TS3 Sclub Body Bling (Y/A-AM)

Recolorable, Y/A-AM Everyday-Outerwear, found under Necklaces. No fit/fat morphs.
TS4 to TS3 Curbs Pearl & Natalis Opal Necklaces

Recolorable, Y/A-AM Everyday-Outerwear, found under Necklaces. No fit/fat morphs.
And that's that!

Speculation has ramped up due to Andy Robinson of VGC's ambiguous remarks about #Sony exploring old IPs, but actual details are scarce.
He mentioned that "deep-cut" projects are in the works without providing specifics, leading to ongoing debate among fans. Even though Astrobot was an enjoyable homage to Sony's classic #Playstation franchises, the company has not confirmed which IPs might return. Titles such as #SlyCooper, Gravity Rush, Jak and Daxter, and Twisted Metal have been mentioned but have their uncertainties.
Rather than offering clear updates, Sony prefers fueling fan speculation, which risks disappointing players with unfulfilled expectations.

You're so right about needing a healthy framework to engage in things like fictionkin or honestly any other kind of community based on past lives.
Like, as a pop-culture pagan who is also a survivor of a cult that focused heavily on past lives, Final Fantasy House should be required reading. Even just the Vice article, but one of the survivors has a website dedicated to documenting what he went through that's well worth looking through.
Remember kids: cults don't start with the weird stuff, it slowly ramps up over time so that you sound insane when you ask for help, if it gets weird at all. Cults aren't defined by weird beliefs and chanting in black robes, they're defined by abusive group dynamics and high levels of control over members, don't expect them to look like a horror movie says they should. Smart people get caught up in cults too, because the warning signs aren't usually obvious up front and they prey on vulnerability, not lack of intelligence.
Oh boy, I remember reading about it on the website, and it really was fucked up. Like, the leader believed that she was all of these fictional characters from pop culture, and kept trying to convince other people that they were reincarnations of other characters while abusing them horribly.
For anybody else reading this post, the site's worth reading if you want to see an example of what an otherkin/fictionkin/past life can look like. Just like, be forewarned that there's a lot of casual bigotry (ableism in particular - the r-slur appears a few times) in there. And of course, there's a lot of generally triggering subject matter (like sexual abuse) because, well, horrible cult was horrible. If you don't want to read it - I'll just sum it up thus: if you ever meet somebody who tries to pass themselves off as a spiritual expert while abusing and exploiting everybody around them, tries to shoehorn people into alleged past lives, and thinks multiverse theory means a bunch of corporate IPs depict real events in another universe, run.
On the topic of frameworks, I personally just don't go for the past life thing at all. I just reckon it as something that my brain has done for Mysterious Brain Reasons. Which might sound boring for some people, but for me makes it into another fascinating example of how varied the human(?) experience can be, which makes it quite wondrous and magical in itself.

Choose violence for 2, 13, and 23?
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
Qrow is too much of a brat (affectionate) to ever enjoy being on top. He enjoys rilling ip his partner and ramping up the sexual tension in the most obnoxious way possible that is pure bottom energy.
13. worst blorboficiation
Winter, Winter by far it is just- it makes me so angry. Now maybe its because I just hate her character so much but everyone going around calling her a queen or talking about how amazing and perfect she is it just fills me with so much rage.
23. ship you've unwillingly come around to
Silver Shamrock. I was a hardcore IronQrow shipper and couldn’t see either with anyone else until I started seeing fan content for it and saw their potential lolZ. IronQrow is still my fav but I do enjoy some good Silver Shamrock.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the Transformers: One trailer
= Looks RAD AS HELLLLLLLLLLL
= The "um, THAT just happened" vibe of the humor didn't really hit for me but as someone who didn't really get into Transformers as a kid because I didn't like the focus on humans (yes, I was always like this), this type of fun adventure film set on Cybertron would have been everything I wanted, so I'm willing to look past that. And besides, they could have just been ramping up the quips for the trailer
= Animation and visuals are obviously amazing, between Mutant Mayhem and this let's continue this trend of proving that these old IPs work best in animation (HINT HINT HASBRO HINT HINT COUGH COUGH)
= I've seen people saying they're not a fan of Bumblebee being a part of Optimus's old gang, but like.........it's Bumblebee, guys. Like I've said in regards to the Kaiju Ranger crossover, sometimes we have to sacrifice logic for iconography. Unless it's Bumblebee's dad. That would be funny
= the toxic yaoi heartbreak is going to be insane
= omg hiiiiiiii Optimus hiiiiiii omgggg haha wow hiiiiiiiiii

So this tracking software you have... you can tell who visits your blog at all times? Can you also tell who sends which anon message?
I feel a bit embarrassed because I check your page usually a few times a day; I don't like to follow a lot of blogs because I get overwhelmed by seeing too much on my dash and like to control when I can see things, when I feel like I have more time for it (I know that might sound a bit weird but yeah). Anyway I'm not one of the delulus or stalkers, just like keeping up with the gossip, haha.
I wouldn’t worry about checking our page a few times a day. It’s no different than us popping open the app to check the inbox a few times a day to see what’s come in. The commentary yesterday was more about how a certain someone spends nearly all day every day lurking on this page even when we aren’t posting. At one point, she’d refreshed our page almost 3,000 times in less than 24 hours.
All it shows is an IP address and a city. Like it doesn't show names or any personal information. And it's not perfect by any means, but we can usually figure out where an anon message comes from by process of elimination. But if someone forgot to hit anon once (like a certain someone did) and we tag it on the software in time, we’ll always know it’s that person even when they’re anon or create a new account through the software. We normally don’t use it all that much unless the harassment, death threats, etc. really ramp up. Honestly, we sometimes forget it’s something Queen enabled for us back in the day. But every now and then when things get bad enough, we’ve gotta pull it up. If tumblr isn’t going to do anything to help, sometimes we have to take the steps needed to protect ourselves.
As a matter of fact, since she was called out yesterday, she hasn't visited out blog. Instead she's got one her little friends checking up on us for her.

As there are a couple of people in the comments/reblogs, who claim that signing up isn't dangerous and that organizers NEED you to sign up (and one of them blocked me) - let's go over this in detail:
No.
Organizers don't need you to put your full name, address, phone number and/or e-mail on a list to gauge interest. Anyone who suggests otherwise, is either very naive or very careless or sus.
If an organizer wants to reach out to people for future actions, asking for an anonymous e-mail-address to send out newsletters is enough.
If an organizer wants to gauge interest, asking for pseudonyms or anonymous e-mail-addresses is enough.
In neither case is there a need to ask for full names, addresses, phone numbers or any other personal data that can be used to identify individuals. The organizers shouldn't be able to do it, the cops shouldn't be able to do it, and other third parties shouldn't be able to do it either.
And let me make this clear: It's the responsibility of the organizer to keep any collected data of protest-attendees safe and out of reach of third parties (including the state). And the best way to protect that data is by not collecting it in the first place.
This is true for each and every protest, but it's especially important for protests that might later get (re)framed by the government as unlawful, as violent or as a riot. (So basically each and every leftist protest, including protest against the government of the USA, fascists in general and climate change. Oh, and pride parades, too. Remember, those started as a riot and kind of have to go back to their roots, right now.)
Basically, everyone who organizes such a protest should have a vested interest in not having any personal data of attendees in their possession. Regular data protection is a nightmare already. It only gets worse, once you add oppression by the state into the mix. And we will see increasing oppression by the state. The current administration of the US is already sending the military after protests. You better believe that they are ramping up surveillance, too.
And a good organizer should keep that in mind. It is their protest. Therefore, it is their responsibility to keep their protesters as safe as possible - not just during the protest, but also before and after. Especially, as they're organizing under a surveillance state. (And yes. Basically all countries are surveillance states to some degree or another nowadays.)
"But they need sign-ups to gauge interest!" - No, they don't. Sure, it is handy to have a list of most of your participants. However, it does come with risks and there are other methods to gauge interest. Like ... organizing protests is nothing new. Activists have done this for centuries. Usually, protests are organized from within existing activist networks. The involved groups know their usual participation rates and can combine them with public interest to make their estimates. Is that always accurate? No. But sign-ups aren't particularly accurate, either.
"If you're worried about your personal data, just use fake names!" - No. The onus on protecting personal data is on the person/organization who is collecting it. Don't allow organizers to put that responsibility back onto you. They shouldn't collect that data to begin with. At the very least, they should make it clear that you don't have to use your personal information. Additionally, their system might still save your IP-address when you sign up, no matter what name you use.
"I don't know of any cases, where people were arrested after a protest because they signed up!" - Yet. You don't know of any cases yet. Don't be shocked, when you see cases popping up in the future. Additionally: Immediate arrests aren't the main risk, here. The main risk is posed by increased surveillance. Look back up at the comic. It doesn't say: "This is how you get arrested after a protest". It says: "That's how all your info gets put on a list!!"
The main risk here is that the cops will use these lists for surveillance. They won't use them in isolation, but in combination with data they collected through other surveillance methods. You better expect them to track your online activities (especially on social media platforms that collaborate with the regime), too.
"That won't happen!" - It already does. Depending on where you live, the government can access pretty much any data it wants to access. There might be laws that curtail the access that law enforcement is allowed to have, but that's it. It usually gets marketed as a tool for the fight against crime and terrorism. And yes. Anti-government protests can and will get flagged as terrorism, too. (Just look at how many Pro-Palestine protests were and are treated.)
Additionally, widespread surveillance of a populace to control civil dissent is nothing new, either. It happened multiple times in the past, and it is still happening in certain countries. The Stasi (the Ministry for State Security of the GDR) did exactly that. China is doing it, to this day, and they use very modern technology to do it.
Don't expect an increasingly fascist regime that is itching to go after its populace to not do this. They wouldn't be the first and they won't be the last, either.
"But what should I do instead?" - On the internet, no-one needs to know that you're a dog. Go brush up on your internet security-skills and follow common recommendations. Don't give your personal information to strangers. (Not just organizers of protests - don't hand out your personal information. Period.) Don't use your real name on social media and don't publish other identifiable information about you, either. (Yes. Remove your age and your diagnoses from your bio.) Keep accounts separate, so they can't be easily linked. Use stuff like VPNs and TOR for stuff that needs extra-security. When it comes to protests - get involved in your local community and try to keep organizational stuff as offline as possible.

stop being silly in front of me

Pacgold’s White Lion Prospect Sparks Exploration Excitement in Australia
Pacgold’s White Lion Prospect has captured the attention of Australia’s mining community with its latest geophysical success. Located in a highly prospective region, this project is rapidly gaining momentum due to a significant Induced Polarisation (IP) discovery, pointing toward deeper mineralisation zones. As exploration ramps up, industry observers and investors alike are eyeing the White Lion Prospect as a major contender in the next wave of gold exploration initiatives.

The recent IP survey at White Lion revealed a large and continuous chargeability anomaly—an indicator commonly associated with sulphide mineralisation. This finding elevates the site’s exploration profile significantly, reinforcing Pacgold’s strategic approach to discovering high-grade mineral systems. The geophysical data aligns with previously identified geochemical anomalies, strengthening confidence in the project’s geological framework.
Exploration at White Lion is being accelerated to capitalise on these promising results. The IP discovery has helped delineate clear drilling targets, which will allow the exploration team to focus efforts and reduce uncertainty. With Australia’s resource sector seeking the next big opportunity, projects like White Lion that offer both scale and precision are becoming increasingly attractive.
As more detailed analyses unfold, the broader mining community remains optimistic about what lies beneath the surface. This discovery not only boosts Pacgold’s exploration portfolio but also adds momentum to Australia’s standing as a leader in mineral resource development. The synergy of geological potential and modern exploration techniques could well position White Lion as a defining prospect in Australia’s next exploration chapter.

Should You Build In-House or Hire an AI Software Development Company? A Founder’s Guide

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just hype its a real tool shaping how startups build smarter products, automate workflows, and serve customers better.
But here’s the big question for founders in 2025: Should you build your AI capabilities in-house or hire an AI software development company to get the job done?
It’s not just a technical decision. It affects your runway, speed to market, IP ownership, team dynamics, and long-term scalability.
In this guide, we’ll walk through:
The pros and cons of both paths
How to evaluate your readiness
What to look for in a reliable AI development partner
A hybrid approach that offers flexibility without long-term risk
Understanding Your Two Options
As a founder, you typically face two routes when launching an AI-powered solution:
1. Build an In-House AI Team
You hire your own engineers, data scientists, MLOps experts, and product specialists. This gives you full control over the development, roadmap, and intellectual property.
2. Hire an AI Software Development Company
This is essentially AI outsourcing. You partner with a specialized agency that already has a team, tools, and infrastructure in place to help you move quickly and build efficiently.
Pros and Cons of Building In-House
Advantages:
Total ownership over your data, code, and models
Deeper product understanding within the team
Faster iteration because priorities are fully aligned
Long-term cost efficiency if AI is core to your business
Challenges:
Hiring is tough and time-consuming
Longer ramp-up time before any working product is shipped
Requires a wide range of talent beyond just ML engineers
Risk of overhead if your AI priorities change later
Pros and Cons of AI Outsourcing
Advantages:
Faster delivery with ready-made expertise
Access to multiple skill sets without hiring each role
Lower upfront cost and easier scope control
Reusable infrastructure and tools from past projects
Quick validation of ideas and early stakeholder buy-in
Challenges:
Less day-to-day control over the product direction
Potential concerns around IP and data rights
Costs may increase for post-launch support
Vendor quality varies, so selection matters
5 Key Questions to Guide Your Decision
Is AI a core part of your product or just a feature? If it’s central to your IP, in-house might make sense. If it’s supporting functionality, outsourcing is a safer bet.
Do you have a strong technical team already? If not, hiring an external team gives you immediate access to skills.
What’s your go-to-market timeline? Need to launch in 8–12 weeks? Outsourcing will get you there faster.
What’s your budget? Outsourcing offers more flexibility in the early stages. In-house teams require a bigger long-term commitment.
Are you in a regulated industry? For finance, healthcare, or defense, in-house control over compliance and data may be essential.
How to Choose the Right AI Development Partner
If you decide to outsource, here’s what to look for in an AI company:
Relevant case studies in your industry or use case
Proficiency with tools and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLflow
A well-rounded team (not just frontend or backend devs)
Clear post-launch support structure
Strong data and IP protection policies
The Hybrid Approach: Best of Both Worlds
Many successful startups are blending the two strategies:
Start with outsourcing to quickly validate an MVP
Transition core development in-house as you scale
Continue working with the AI firm for DevOps, MLOps, or compliance support
This lets you balance flexibility with ownership while staying lean and strategic.
Real-World Examples
In-House Win: A fintech startup built an AI-powered credit scoring engine internally to ensure compliance and protect its IP.
Outsourcing Advantage: A D2C brand hired an AI firm to build a recommendation engine—zero hiring delays, faster ROI.
Hybrid Success: A B2B SaaS startup outsourced its chatbot MVP, then hired internal talent post-Series A to scale the tech in-house.
Final Thoughts: Build Smarter, Not Harder
There’s no universal right answer—but there is a right answer for your stage.
Choose in-house if AI is central to your long-term differentiation.
Go with an AI software development company if speed, risk control, and flexibility matter most right now.
Or combine both with a hybrid approach that gives you the best of both worlds.
Whatever you decide, let your AI strategy reflect your product maturity, technical depth, and growth goals—not just ambition.
Still unsure? Start small. Validate fast. Scale with clarity. Read the full blog here
