Eclipse, are you sun and moons middle form or an entirely different animatronic?

Here all the text in this comic in case it’s hard to read my handwriting! (Well, technically font, but it is still my handwriting, just turned into a font)
“Well, I guess you could say that I “came from” the daycare attendant. Only my AI, though. My body was made by Fazbear Ent.
The glitch happened while the lights in the daycare were going nuts. Flickering on and off like crazy.
Their program got confused and couldn’t tell which mode they should be in, so both attendants became active at the same time.
That’s when I popped into existence, although not properly, that’s why I call this stage “Partial Eclipse”!
At that time I was the middle form, and I wasn’t really me yet. After that happened, I appeared a few more times when the attendants were stressed, which let me gain more and more consciousness
Eventually I managed to take over completely. Boy was that day fun.
I was however quickly restrained and stuffed into that wretched arcade machine, up until some higher up decided that they’d use my AI for a new attraction.
So they got some spare parts and an endo from Sun and Moon, tweaked it a bit and tadaaa, “Total Eclipse” was born!
So in short: I started out as the middle form of Sun and Moon, but eventually I became my own AI, then animatronic.”
Alright then, first two asks answered completely! Thought these two could go hand in hand, so I did em both in one go!
Wish you could answer more than one ask at a time lol
Here’s the original post for the QnA!
Also @maudiemoods I hope you don’t mind me tagging you since I couldn’t respond to ur ask directly lol

Love by Daylight (1/2)
➸ characters: Seokjin x Reader
➸ genres: Sailor Moon!AU, fluff, sort of e2l
➸ tags: sly friends, petty enemies/secret crushes, running away from the mortifying ordeal of being known
➸ words: 2K+
➸ summary: The day you find out who your suave partner in saving the world is, you're absolutely, positively, without a doubt sure you'll be over the moon. You'll be so happy you'll think you're dreaming. Turns out you're right. You do think you're dreaming. Because this? This can't be real. You're being pranked. Someone, somewhere, is going to jump out and say you're on Candid Camera. (Please.)
>> PART 2
When the lights fade and the facades fall, this is what you’re left with: Tuxedo Mask without a mask, you without your moonlit glamor. Tux the civilian is handsome, you can tell, and this is it—the moment you’ve been waiting for.
He lifts his face.
The youma's words come rushing back: Let the truth be known, the city’s deepest secrets shown.
Tuxedo Mask is none other than Kim Seokjin.
Suddenly, you’re reminded of a crystalline city; people bowing before you; Seokjin taking your hand, your matching rings gleaming in the light. Was it a memory or a dream?
You stand there, dumbfounded, until Tux/Seokjin dons his mask and brushes past. “Come on, Sailor Moon,” he says, sensible enough to use your alias. “The coast is clear. We’ve got a fight to finish.”

“Why does it have to be Seokjin?" You whine, collapsing into bed and disturbing your sleeping cat. (In your defense, he was on your pillow. Which you’ve told him numerous times not to lay down on because his fur would shed.) Luckily, Agust is acquainted with your dramatic side and simply gets up to move.
“Well, why do you have to be Sailor Moon?” He points out. “It could have been someone less bothersome.”
“Hey,” you retaliate. “You’re the one who came to me. You could have given anyone the Lunar Key.”
“I didn't have a choice.”
“What do you mean you didn’t? You could have walked away and picked someone better, just like that.”
He scoffs. “Not when it’s the Queen.”
“Queen-schmeen." You flop back onto your bed, the springs creaking in protest. "I bet Her Royal Highness is on her throne right now, all nice and comfy. She couldn't care less."
Agust doesn't reply.
At first, you think it's because you've won and nothing else can be said, but when the silence stretches on, you know something is off. You sit up to see Agust no longer curled into himself, but sitting. He stares out your window into the night, his normally keen eyes empty. "She's dead."
Judging by his somber tone, she'd meant a lot to him. "I'm sorry," you whisper.
Agust sighs. "No need to apologize, kid. She was your mother, after all."
"My mother?"
"Not now," he amends. "But she was a long time ago, when you were the princess of the moon and Seokjin the prince of the earth.”
☾
The next morning, you head to school on time.
Your mom—present day mom—was surprised to see you up early, and Jeongguk called you out like the bratty brother he was (wow, no morning run today?), but the truth was you couldn’t sleep.
Last night, Agust recounted your past, how the dark eclipsed the moon. Although the queen tried her best to protect the kingdom, it was to no avail. Seokjin died in the fray, and you fell shortly after, helpless to save your beloved. In the end, the queen sacrificed herself to give you and Seokjin another chance at love, her people another chance at happiness.
A chance to rebuild the Silver Millennium.
The thing was, you didn’t know if that was what you wanted. Not that you’d want the Dark Kingdom to reign, but you weren’t sure whether you wanted to rule in your mother’s stead. Or marry Seokjin. Past you might have wanted to, but the you now could barely stand him. And neither could he. Or so you thought. You’d gotten along just fine with Tuxedo Mask, even grown a crush, but that wasn’t enough to warrant a marriage.
“Hello? Veen to Selene*?” Someone nudges your shoulder, and with a start, you notice Mina looking at you in concern.
“Sorry, what did you say?”
“Nothing yet, but it looks like you’ve got something on your mind. What’s up?”
You’re about to tell her when you see Seokjin approaching, his uniform blazer neatly pressed.
“Morning, ______,” Seokjin says. “Mina.”
“Morning,” you reply, ready for whatever biting remark he’d say next. But once Namjoon comes up, he leaves. That's it.
Even Mina, who hardly sees the two of you interact, notices. "That's the first time I've seen you guys polite. It's weird. What happened?"
After a discreet look around, you grab her by the elbow. “He's Tux,” you hiss, but Mina doesn’t look the least bit shocked. Her face breaks out into a giddy grin, like a child who’s finally tall enough to get on the big kid ride.
“You knew?” You ask, a little hurt she didn’t tell you.
She pouts, squishing your cheeks together. “Don’t be mad. You don't know how hard it was to keep it a secret.”
◑
You don't blame Mina, for the most part. It would have been better if you hadn’t known who Tuxedo Mask was, and vice versa. You felt like Cinderella running away from the ball, her beautiful dress giving way to rags and ratty shoes. If the prince caught up to her then, she’d probably be humiliated.
Just like you are now.
Tuxedo Mask has seen you at your most embarrassing moments, fighting to have the last word (or milkshake) as Seokjin, and also at your best, saving civilians with grace. You've only wanted him to see the best of you, for him to think of you as the perfect wonder-girl heroine everyone else saw you as, but he's seen almost every side. You don't know what he sees in you now, if anything. And frankly, you don't want to know.
"Have you ever thought that maybe he's thinking what you're thinking?" Mina asks. "You've seen all the good and bad in him, too."
"But it's different when he doesn't have a crush on Sailor Moon!" You say, exasperated.
"Oh, I wouldn’t be sure about that if I were you."
Seokjin thinking of your alter ego that way is embarrassing, but considering he's also Tuxedo Mask...now your face is red, you can feel it. Red as roses in bloom. "You're joking, right?"
"Why don't you wait and see," Mina replies, as cryptically as when she was Sailor V and you hadn't known any better. Having sympathy for you, she gives you a warm smile. "Don't stress out too much, Moon. You're amazing either way. Just talk to him."
◑
You think there's some reconnaissance to sort out first. When you walked into Crown Arcade and saw Seokjin talking to Jimin pretty intently, you didn’t want to interrupt...okay, who were you kidding? You chickened out.
But Jimin is his best friend, so he'll know how Seokjin feels the most, right? It's the next best alternative to actually speaking to Seokjin, which, well, you aren't ready for. Case in point: you've done the impossible and made yourself scarce. You aren’t about to break your streak now.
So the instant Seokjin leaves, you walk up to the counter. Jimin looks up from sprinkling a milkshake. "Hey. The usual?"
"Yeah, just double on the chocolate."
"You got it," he says, passing the drinks he finished making to a server. You watch him blend milk into ice cream, then reach over for a new cup to pour the mixture into later. It's all done with practiced ease, and you marvel at how quick he is, not to mention how beautiful the finished milkshake looks after. The chocolate is perfect, the whipped cream a cloud of snow drizzled with dark syrup.
Jimin slides it over with a grin. "Mademoiselle."
"Why, thank you," you say, digging in with gusto. This is exactly what "stressed is desserts spelled backwards," meant: Jimin's milkshakes never fail to kick your worries down a notch.
"Good?" He asks.
"Mhm," you mumble, more to your milkshake than to him, when the thought that you haven't paid yet crosses your mind. Oh gosh. You pull your purse onto your lap, but Jimin chuckles, stopping you.
"I've got it covered. Besides, I heard you weren't yourself lately."
"Really?"
He shrugs. "From the way you're devouring that, it's kind of hard to believe…"
You take an extra large mouthful to prove his point.
"But you only lay on the chocolate when you're bummed," he finishes, and you’d protest if you hadn’t made it a habit to drown your sorrows in his milkshakes. They were just too good to resist. Not to mention Jimin is a great listener. Your girls, although you love them, aren't always the best. You'd catch the moment they crossed over from attentive to "Is she done yet?" but with Jimin, you've never had that issue. Turns out you have a different one.
"I hate how perceptive you are."
He laughs. "You're just predictable."
"You know what? You can take back your milkshake and go back to work," you say in a fit of grumpiness, pushing the glass back to him.
"Are you sure you want me to do that?"
You meet him eye to eye. After a minute—a long, impressive minute might you add—you take it back. "Fine. What do you want to hear?"
"Anything you want to tell me. And if it's something you can't share, please tell someone you can. It's not great to keep things bottled up, trust me."
You sigh.
"Here's the deal," you begin, feeling a little weird telling your old crush about your new one, but marching through nevertheless, "I met someone on...online. He's nice and funny and understands me even though he's different. I just click with him, and eventually, I want to tell him I like him. The thing is, I don't really know who he is. We've been chatting on Discord and his profile picture is Tuxedo Mask, but he can't be Tuxedo Mask. Or maybe he is, who knows?"
Jimin laughs. If only he knew.
"Anywho," you continue, "I meet him and find out he's someone I actually know...but he's a pest. He always gets on my nerves and it's like he's a completely different person! I don't even know how that's possible, but apparently it is and it's just so frustrating."
Jimin doesn't speak for a while, which is fine by you. You take the time to jam spoonfuls of chocolate and cream into your mouth.
"You know," he finally says, amused, "that sounds a little like the plot to You've Got Mail."
"That isn't funny.” You huff. “Joe Fox was a jerk and I don't know why they played him off as charming."
"Isn't that what you think of the guy?"
"I never said he was a jerk."
"But you said he was a pest."
"That isn't the s—" You pull at your hair. "Ugh. I don't know anymore."
"Did you talk to him?"
"And what? Spill my complicated feelings?"
"No, just talk to him. You don't have to confess right now. Just air out the laundry and see where you guys are at. Chances are, if you're confused, then he's confused, too, and there's no way either of you can get out of it without talking to each other."
"I can't talk to him, Jimin. I avoided him for three weeks! He's going to hate me."
"He isn't," Jimin says firmly, and you wish you could have the same conviction. "Sure, he'll be upset, but if he's really someone who cares, he'll listen. Look, during that time you avoided him, did he try to reach out?"
"Well, I told him I didn't want to talk and he stopped asking."
"So he'll listen. If it turns out he hates you, give him a piece of your mind and I'll give you triple chocolate milkshakes on the house."
When he puts it like that, talking to Seokjin doesn't seem as dreadful. "You're not just saying that?"
"Have I ever said something I didn't mean?"
You get your answer when someone comes trudging in, holding up a bag from your go-to fast food joint. "Jimin! You better be grateful I drove all the way downtown to get you these burgers. Since when did you like ______'s favorite, anyways?"
"Since now," your traitor of a friend says. You glare at him, which he conveniently ignores.
"You're the best," he tells a surprised Seokjin, leaving with a pat on his shoulder. "Enjoy your meal!"

* romance headcanons.
name: Blake Belladonna nickname: Belladonna, Blakey, etc. gender: female / she/her romantic orientation: biromantic
preferred pet names: as long as it isn't anything like kitten or kitty cat or overly 'cute' like cupcake or gumdrop or anything like that, she's okay with pet names. relationship status: taken. favorite canon/fandom ship: stares at my blog — blacksun /eclipse is probably my favorite, followed very closely behind by monochrome & ladybug. bumbleby is cute, too opinion on true love: she believes in it but not in the ' there's only one ' aspect as you can have more than one true love but in the ' you'll find the one you're meant to be with ' way. opinion on love at first sight: a possibility. love doesn't always happen in conventional ways and she has heard plenty stories about it (her parents being one of them) so she doesn't discount it.
how ‘romantic’ are they?: slightly above average/what one would think her to be. she enjoys seeing her s/o smile and so will do little things that seem to be just natural to do without much thought-- brushing her hand against theirs, asking how they are, bringing them food/drink if she's noticed they've gone all day without it, buying something that she thinks they will like, etc. she just wants them to know she does care for them-- whether it's a platonic relationship or romantic one. ideal physical traits: she hardly has a set group of 'traits' she sticks to when it comes to someone catching her eye, but she does like contrast and/or bright colors. light colored eyes are also something she immediately picks up on. she also is drawn to those that look like they can clearly take care of themselves ( broad shoulders, some muscle definition, a confident but not arrogant demeanor). ideal personality traits: someone who is willing to help fight and defend/protect others and is willing to stand up against what is wrong is a big one. she also is drawn to those who are kind and want to do the right thing without sacrificing their morals or anything else. people who are passionate about what they believe in as well. they don't have to be happy or cheerful around her all the time, either-- she'd want them to feel free enough around to show their true feelings, good or bad. a willingness to have fun and drag her into it, a bit carefree but not to the point where nothing seems important to them. unattractive physical traits: she doesn't really care much about someone's physical traits. unattractive personality traits: bullying, arrogance, those that berate others or raise their voice in an aggressive manner, emotional manipulation -- she will not tolerate that. smugness, a sense of entitlement, discrimatory-- that immediately will anger her -- very judgemental, puts on an act. ideal date: honestly? as long as both have a good time, the date can be simple as hell. she just enjoys spending time with them, so if the date is just watching a movie or crashing the arcade all night, she'll be happy. but if she had to pick an ideal date, it'd involve maybe a quite place, not too popular no loud. nothing overly fancy nor tense either. afterwards, a walk in the park or along the beach-- a generally relaxed time overall. do they have a type?: she's drawn to those who want to help others and are willing to, as well as looking past what a person may be and focusing on who they are. people like huntsmen/huntresses especially as she considers that to be very honorable. other than that, blake doesn't really have a set type. average relationship length: she’s usually in it for the long haul. preferred non-sexual intimacy: anything that involves some sense of close contact. kissing (yes that counts fight me) is one; to the cheek, their jaw, forehead, the back of their hands is a big one. usually chaste and soft kisses that lingers for a few seconds. holding their hand as well; brushing her thumb over the skin, playing with their fingers, putting her palm flat against theirs to see the size difference before intertwining her fingers with her s/o's. blake also likes if their hand feels different from hers, so it's okay if it's a little rough or calloused. she also enjoys kind of just resting her chin on their shoulder and lean her head against theirs. she absolutely will rest her head in her s/o's lap as well. commitment level: completely committed. opinion of public affection: she’s not against it, but prefers to keep it to a minimum. hand holding (a favorite of hers), an arm around the waist/shoulders, light kissing (nothing too intense you know), and hugging are perfectly fine . if within the company of friends/people she trusts, she may rest her legs over her significant others lap, lean back/against them-- but everything else is saved for when it's just her and her s/o alone since it's their relationship and she wants to keep those private moments, you know, private. she has no problem seeing others do it, thinking it's nice that they feel comfortable enough to be affectionate out in public.
past relationships?: this guy is a bulldozer.

________________________________________________________
The Next Day:
Reader’s POV:
My breathing gets heavy as my hands start to shake in fear. Darkness surrounds me and yet completely aware of my surroundings, like I know this place long enough to know where everything is. As I start walking, I hear a splash sound with every step I take. I pause and look at the ground and somehow in midst of all this darkness, I see a huge puddle of blood on the ground surrounding me. The more I look around, the more the darkness starts to fade and I’m able to see. But looking at my surroundings, I’d rather be secluded back into darkness. So many dead bodies surround me and I can tell the blood is coming from them. Whats worse is that they’re the corpses of my team and loved ones. The Avengers, my friends and peers, even Peter and Ned!
“What the fuck is happening?!” I yell but I doubt anyone can hear me. I see a body twitch and start to run to their aid but I fear I might be too late. I turn the body towards me and realize its Steve. He’s conscious! “Steve! We haven’t met yet but I’m (Y/F/N)! I’m the new re…” He starts to shake his head to signal me to stop. He maybe has something important to tell me.
His voice is pretty hoarse but I can still understand him. “I… I know exactly who you are.” He says while coughing between some words. I raise an eyebrow in confusion as I’m sure we’ve never met before. “You’re the bastard who helped cause all this distruction and chaos! Mark my words, you will pay for this!” He gets into a small fit of coughs before his body goes limp and he lets go.
I’m so confused! How is this my fault? Suddenly a purple portal appears from above and out comes my brother Alex hovering with an evil and devious smirk. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him make that face before. “Poor (Y/N)! You were too scared to fight the war, so you took it upon yourself to choose a different path and to finally join us as a dying light.” He says and I now get why its so dark. He destroyed the light. Everything that shines bright in the dark is now gone. The bastard really did it now. Now I’m pissed!
“You know what, fuck the war! I don’t need some special rules to end you, you psychotic son of a bitch!” I yell in anger and fury. I can feel my eyes change color and my hands glow. “I don’t care that you’re my blood relative! I’m gonna obliterate you to dust and scatter you into the wind!”
He just smiles bigger and says, “I see the dark paths consuming you already.”
I look down at my hands and notice they ARE glowing, but they’re purple instead of the usual gold. I’m a dark witch?! When did this happen? Whatever. I guess I’ll have to fight him with dark magic. As I charge towards my brother with nothing but rage and bloodlust coursing through my veins, I can hear my father’s voice on my left. “It’s too late, (Y/N)! The darkness has already won. Just accept your NEW fate.” He says.
I look at him and see my mom next to him looking confident with sinister smirks. Then the unthinkable happens. Their eyes both change purple like Alex’s! “What the hell is happening?!” I scream but nothing stops. My parents and brother start laughing maniacally. I try to cover my ears but their laughs just get louder and louder. “Wake up. Wake up! WAKE UP!!” I can tell this is my brother’s doing. He must’ve put some weird spell on me to give me this sick and twisted nightmare. “GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!” I yell but still the laughs are continuous.
In the midst of all the twisted laughing, I hear a faint voice calling to me. It’s soft and warm, like a fluffy blanket coming out of the dryer. Its slowly getting louder and louder, drowning out the laughing until I can finally hear it clearly. “(Y/N)!” The voice says and I’m almost able to make it out. “(Y/N)! This is just a nightmare. You have to wake up. Please, none of it is real. Wake up!” Its Wanda! She must be convincing me to wake up but I don’t know if I can. I gotta try though. I focus my magic into the core of my body and I see my hands go from purple to the usual gold I’m used to.
I squeeze my eyes shut and when I open them, I’m in my bed covered in a pool of sweat. Its over. I look to the side of my bed to turn on the lamp and see Wanda sitting there with a worried look on her face. “Thank god, you’re awake. Are you alright?” She asks. I look at my phone and see it’s 3:43 a.m.
“Yeah I’m fine now. Thanks for wakin me.” I say as she nods. “What the hell was that? It was a nightmare but it felt so real. Everyone was there but they were…”
“Yeah, I know. I saw. My rooms right next to yours and I could hear you moving around in your bed. I went to check on you and you were sleep but there was this purple mist surrounding your head. It was so thick, I could barely see your face. I had to use my powers and get in your head in order to wake you up.” She interrupted, which is good. I don’t want to have to mention what I just saw ever again. I honestly want this nightmare to be forgotten like most, but I doubt that’ll be possible.
“A purple mist?” I asked and she nodded. I cursed under my breath. “Dammit, Alex! He must be getting stronger or something, cause I don’t think he was able to do that before.”
Wanda looked like she was going to cry, herself. “I can’t believe your brother would do something like that. Your own blood?”
“I can believe it. Alex has always been conniving ever since he choose the dark path.”
“Was he like that before he choose his path?” She asks.
“Honestly, no. Alex used to be the best big brother ever. He would always make sure I made it to school safe, and whenever I passed a test, we would celebrate by getting ice cream or hitting up the arcade, just the two of us.” I say, reminiscing over the good times.
I look at Wanda smiling at the good memories I have with Alex. Tears start rolling down my check once more. “(Y/N). Don’t cry. I’m sure we can find a way to stop this war before it starts. That way you don’t have to fight your brother.” She says incouraging me.
“I don’t know if there IS a way, Wands. What if he doesn’t want to stop the war. I mean, this whole thing could’ve been his plan from the beginning.” I say as the tears come down stronger than before and I’m shaking in sorrow. The more I think about it, the more I regret even choosing a path to begin with. I mean, yeah he’s done some terrible things to me these couple of days, but he’s still my brother and I still don’t wish him harm.
Five minutes later, and I’m done crying. Wanda asks if theres anything else I need before she goes and I shake my head no. I try to go back to sleep hoping and praying that I don’t have that same nightmare again. Hoping that Alex doesn’t mess with me again. I don’t know how but all the thinking finally helped me drift back to sleep.
Alex’s POV:
I’m glad (Y/N) was able to break away from that hellish nightmare I gave him. If he would’ve stayed like that any longer, he just might’ve went psycho from it. I only did that, because Baron told me to. I would’ve never wanted someone like him to see that. I heard him mention the times we spent before I chose my path. I remember them like they were just yesterday. We had some pretty good time me and him. Like when we went to that amusment park and he wouldn’t ride that roller coaster unless I went with him. He held on to my arm so tight, that it actually went numb for a sec. He was such a good brother and now look what we’ve been resulted to. A couple tears find their way down my face. I can’t cry, I’m a man. I also can’t let petty memories like that cloud my mind.
“Alex! Excellent job on scaring your brother like that! You’re becoming stronger and stronger by the day!” Baron says. When I chose the dark path, Baron Mordo had taken me in as his apprentice. He taught me almost everything I know, since witches and sorcerers have the same abilities almost. So far, the time we’ve spent together has been impactful to say the least. He even told me I was able to keep seeing Kathy, my girlfriend. Just as long as she doesn’t know our plan.
We sometimes go around the world and show those weak pathetic mortals that we’ll soon be taking over the Earth. Thats what Baron told me we’d do before he sent me to trick (Y/N) into choosing the light path to start the Ecliptic War. “Come now, Alex! You are strong, but theres still so much you need to learn.” He says grabbing my attention.
“Yes, sir! Right away!” I say in response.

Welp… Turned out to be a lot darker than I thought. Sorry to those who couldn’t take the darkness, but like Reader’s parents said, “Theres always a light at the end of a tunnel”, so expect some cute awkwardness from reader in Part 7. Later, guys!

A Sampling of Actual-Play RPG Podcasts
Today’s guest article is a follow up to our sampling of podcasts article. Keith Garrett stepped into the guest gnome hat (we should really clean that thing after each use) and did a sampling of actual play podcasts! Check it out below! – Head Gnome John
A while back we talked about some general RPG Podcasts, so today we’d like to discuss a more focused topic: actual-play podcasts. These are recordings of real RPG game sessions, often edited for brevity and sometimes even enhanced with sound effects and music.
Like the more general-purpose gaming podcasts, actual plays cover many many many different games and genres and play styles. One of the great advantages of these kinds of episodes is that you can learn about a game before you buy it…or even before you CAN buy it, because some of these podcasts feature games before they are released. Besides that, many listeners (like me) find that actual play podcasts are simply fun to listen to. Some of them are recorded by professional voice actors, and even the ones that aren’t — especially the long-running ones — generally feature likable personalities performing fun in-game activities.
If you want to explore far more actual play podcasts than we can detail here, go check out RPG Casts. This is a catalog of RPG-related podcasts, actual play or otherwise. Using this site, you can locate podcasts by multiple overlapping categories, including actual play, campaign, one-shot, women hosts, people of color, LGBTQ+, episode length, tags by specific game, and more.
A note for those of you who already listen to actual play podcasts and are looking to see if we listed your favorite — there is a VERY GOOD CHANCE that we didn’t. And that’s okay; this is intended to be an eclectic list, not a comprehensive one. Please tell us about the other podcasts that you recommend in the comments!
Acquisitions Incorporated
This series by the creators of the webcomics Penny Arcade and PvP — with the notable involvement of Wizards of the Coast — started as a podcast episode introducing D&D 4th Edition and grew into an actual play empire that included other podcasts, Twitch shows, and even live shows. Some of the episodes are expertly Dungeon Mastered by D&D luminaries such as Christopher Perkins and Mike Mearls.
The Adventure Zone
This popular Dungeons & Dragons actual play podcast is a spin-off of My Brother, My Brother and Me, a non-gaming podcast (but don’t hold that against it) by three amazingly entertaining fellows. The Adventure Zone releases weekly, with episode lengths around an hour.
Campaign
After the success of One Shot (mentioned below), the podcast’s creators followed it with one designed to please listeners who prefer an ongoing storyline. Campaign presents a consistent cast and continuous story set in the Star Wars universe, using the Edge of the Empire system.
Fandible
Another long-running institution, Fandible features both one-shot and long-term campaigns, each released weekly. Fandible campaigns have featured games of Numenera and Force and Destiny, and their one-shots have included TimeWatch, Pugmire, Blades in the Dark, Paranoia, and plenty more.
Glass Cannon
This Pathfinder-focused podcast started in 2015 and was recently declared the first official podcast for the game by Paizo. This year the gang kicked off a Starfinder podcast as well, called Androids & Aliens. Glass Cannon is following the Giantslayer Adventure Path, while its sibling A&A covers the Dead Suns Adventure Path. Both release weekly.
Lost and Forgotten Worlds
I first found this podcast when I was writing about Tales From the Loop, because Lost and Forgotten Worlds produced a great actual play podcast for that game. But they’ve covered other games, too, including Star Frontiers, TSR’s Marvel Super Heroes, and West End’s Star Wars.
Nerdy Show
I am a fan of this collection of podcasts because of their Call of Cthulhu Mystery Program and Ghostbusters: Resurrection actual plays, which make good use of music and sound effects. Nerdy Show has other offerings, too: Dungeons & Doritos, Pokeballs of Steelix, a few one-shot podcasts, and other nerdy non-actual-play content.
One Shot
When many people think “actual play podcast,” this is the first thing that comes to mind. And for good reason — since 2013 One Shot has presented short adventures covering dozens of systems and featuring a variety of entertaining players and gamemasters. Some of the participants are professional game designers, some are skilled improv actors, and some are regular folks just like you and me — though probably more entertaining to hear.
The Redacted Files
Another podcast stew with a combination of campaigns and one-shots. Current campaigns include games of Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu, and the backlog contains completed campaigns of Night’s Black Agents, Numenera, and The Strange. The Redacted Files releases weekly.
Role Playing Public Radio
This collection of actual-play recordings includes (like some others above) a combination of campaigns and one-shots. Recent featured games include Tales from the Loop, Delta Green, Monster of the Week, and Warhammer 40K. The RPPR website has helpful lists of recommended episodes in various categories, including best episodes, hilarious episodes, and scary/creepy episodes. RPPR releases weekly, with most episodes lasting about 90 minutes.
RPG Academy
Though this podcasting empire features discussion-style podcasts as well, most of their productions are actual play recordings. The majority of the campaigns are D&D, with a few other systems including 13th Age, Fate Accelerated, and Savage Worlds. The one-shots are divided into fun and silly “Field Trips” and the more education-minded “Trials” which are intended to explain the rules and settings of various games. Recent one-shots have included Threadbare, The Orpheus Protocol, and Firefly.
She’s a Super Geek
Hosts Senda and Emily use their podcast to showcase women as gamemasters. The show presents one-shot games using different systems, and releases every other week. This is a great source for learning about newly-released games and those that are currently crowdfunding — such as the recently-covered Iron Edda Accelerated, which is still funding on Kickstarter.
Six Feats Under
This is another multi-series podcast featuring both one-shots and campaigns. Originally started as a 13th Age campaign podcast, Six Feats Under has also recorded campaigns for Mouse Guard and Fellowship, as well as one-shots for games such as Urban Shadows, Lasers & Feelings, Ashen Stars, and Eclipse Phase.
Got a favorite actual play podcast? Tell us about it in the comments, whether we listed it or not.
