Top 10 Games of 2019
This was an extremely good year for games. I don’t know if I played as many that will stick with me as I did last year, but the ones on the bottom half of this list in particular constitute some of my favorite games of the decade, and probably all-time. If I’ve got a gaming-related resolution for next year, it’s to put my playtime into supporting even smaller indie devs. My absolute favorite experiences in games this year came from seemingly out of nowhere games from teams I’ve previously never heard of before. That said, there are some big games coming up in spring I doubt I’ll be able to keep myself away from. Some quick notes/shoutouts before I get started:
Tumblr media
-The game I put maybe the most time into this year was Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I finally made the plunge into neverending FF MMO content, and I’m as happy as I am overwhelmed. This was a big year for the game, between the release of the Shadowbringers expansion and the Nier: Automata raid, and it very well may have made it onto my list if I had managed to actually get to any of it. At the time of this writing, though, I’ve only just finished 2015’s Heavensward, so I’ve got...a long way to go.
Tumblr media
-One quick shoutout to the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy that came out on Switch this year, a remaster of some DS classics I never played. An absolutely delightful visual novel series that I fell in love with throughout this year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-I originally included a couple games currently in early access that I’ve enjoyed immensely. I removed them not because of arbitrary rules about what technically “came out” this year, but just to make room for some other games I liked, out of the assumption that I’ll still love these games in their 1.0 formats when they’re released next year to include them on my 2020 list. So shoutout to Hades, probably the best rogue-like/lite/whatever I’ve ever played, and Spin Rhythm XD, which reignited my love for rhythm games.
Tumblr media
-Disco Elysium isn’t on this list, because I’ve played about an hour of it and haven’t yet been hooked by it. But I’ve heard enough about it to be convinced that it is 1000% a game for me and something I need to get to immediately. They shouted out Marx and Engels at the Game Awards! They look so cool! I want to be their friend! And hopefully, a few weeks from now, I’ll desperately want to redact this list to squeeze this game somewhere in here.
Alright, he’s the actual list:
10. Amid Evil
Tumblr media
The 90’s FPS renaissance continues! As opposed to last year’s Dusk, a game I adored, this one takes its cues less from Quake and more from Heretic/Hexen, placing a greater emphasis on melee combat and magic-fuelled projectiles than more traditional weapons. Also, rather than that game’s intentionally ugly aesthetic, this one opts for graphics that at times feel lush, detailed, and pretty, while still probably mostly fitting the description of lo-fi. In fact, they just added RTX to the game, something I’m extremely curious to check out. This game continued to fuel my excitement about the possibilities of embracing out-of-style gameplay mechanics to discover new and fresh possibilities from a genre I’ve never been able to stop yearning for more of.
9. Ape Out
Tumblr media
If this were a “coolest games” list, Ape Out would win it, easily. It’s a simple game whose mechanics don’t particularly evolve throughout the course of its handful of hours, but it leaves a hell of an impression with its minimalist cut-out graphics, stylish title cards, and percussive soundtrack. Smashing guards into each other and walls and causing them to shoot each other in a mad-dash for the exit is a fun as hell take on Hotline Miami-esque top down hyper violence, even if it’s a thin enough concept that it starts to feel a bit old before the end of the game.
8. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Tumblr media
I had a lot of problems with this game, probably most stemming from just how damn long it is - I still haven’t finished my first, and likely only, playthrough. This length seems to have motivated the developers to make battles more simple and easy, and to be fair, I would get frustrated if I were getting stuck on individual battles if I couldn’t stop thinking about how much longer I have to go, but as it is, I’ve just found them to be mostly boring. This is particularly problematic for a game that seems to require you to play through it at least...three times to really get the full picture? I couldn’t help but admire everything this game got right, though, and that mostly comes down to building a massive cast of extremely well realized and likable characters whose complex relationships with each other and with the structures they pledge loyalty to fuels harrowing drama once the plot really sets into motion. There’s a reason no other game inspired such a deluge of memes and fan fiction and art into my Twitter feed this year. It’s an impressive feat to convince every player they’ve unquestionably picked the right house and defend their problem children till the bitter end. After the success of this game, I’d love to see what this team can do next with a narrower focus and a bigger budget.
7. Resident Evil 2
Tumblr media
It’s been a long time since I played the original Resident Evil 2, but I still consider it to be one of my favorite games of all time. I was highly skeptical of this remake at first, holding my stubborn ground that changing the fixed camera to a RE4-style behind the back perspective would turn this game more into an action game and less of a survival horror game where feeling a lack of control is part of the experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find how much they were able to modernize this game while maintaining its original feel and atmosphere. The fumbly, drifting aim-down sights effectively sell the feeling of being a rookie scared out of your wits. Being chased by Mr. X is wildly anxiety-inducing. But even more surprisingly, perhaps the greatest upgrade this game received was its map, which does you the generous service of actually marking down automatically where puzzles and items are, which rooms you’ve yet to enter, which ones you’ve searched entirely, and which ones still have more to discover. Arguably, this disrupts the feeling of being lost in a labyrinthine space that the original inspired, but in practice, it’s a remarkably satisfying and addicting video game system to engage with.
6. Judgment
Tumblr media
No big surprise here - Ryu ga Gotoku put out another Yakuza-style game set in Kamurocho, and once again, it’s sitting somewhere on my top 10. This time, they finally put Kazuma Kiryu’s story to bed and focused on a new protagonist, down on his luck lawyer-turned-detective Takayuki Yagami. The new direction doesn’t always pay off - the added mechanics of following and chasing suspects gets a bit tedious. The game makes up for it, though, by absolutely nailing a fun, engrossing J-Drama of a plot entirely divorced from the Yakuza lore. The narrative takes several head-spinning turns through its several dozen hours, and they all feel earned, with a fresh sense of focus. The side stories in this one do even more to make you feel connected to the community of Kamurocho by befriending people from across the neighborhood. I’d love to see this team take even bigger swings in the future - and from what I’ve seen from Yakuza 7, that seems exactly like what they’re doing - but even if this game shares maybe a bit too much DNA with its predecessors, it’s hard to complain when the writing and acting are this enjoyable.
5. Control
Tumblr media
Control feels like the kind of game that almost never gets made anymore. It’s a AAA game that isn’t connected to any larger franchises and doesn’t demand your attention for longer than a dozen hours. It doesn’t shoehorn needless RPG or MMO mechanics into its third-person action game formula to hold your attention. It introduces a wildly clever idea, tells a concise story with it, and then its over. And there’s something so refreshing about all of that. The setting of The Oldest House has a lot to do with it. I think it stands toe-to-toe with Rapture or Black Mesa as an instantly iconic game world. Its aesthetic blend of paranormal horror and banal government bureaucracy gripped my inner X-Files fan instantly, and kept him satisfied not only with its central characters and mystery but with a generous bounty of redacted documents full of worldbuilding both spine-tingling and hilarious. More will undoubtedly come from this game, in the form of DLC and possibly even more, with the way it ties itself into other Remedy universes, and as much as I expect I will love it, the refreshing experience this base game offered me likely can’t be beat.
4. Anodyne 2
Tumblr media
I awaited Sean Han Tani and Marina Kittaka’s new game more anxiously than almost any game that came out this year, despite never having played the first one, exclusively on my love for last year’s singular All Our Asias and the promise that this game would greatly expand on that one’s Saturn/PS1-esque early 3D graphics and personal, heartfelt storytelling. Not only was I not disappointed, I was regularly pleasantly surprised by the depth of narrative and themes the game navigates. This game takes the ‘legendary hero’ tropes of a Zelda game and flips them to tell a story about the importance of community and taking care of loved ones over duty to governments or organizations. The dungeons that similarly reflect a Link to the Past-era Zelda game reduce the maps to bite-sized, funny, clever designs that ask you to internalize unique mechanics that result in affecting conclusions. Plus, it’s gorgeously idiosyncratic in its blend of 3D and 2D environments and its pretty but off-kilter score. It’s hard to believe something this full and well realized came from two people.
3. Eliza
Tumblr media
Eliza is a work of dystopian fiction so closely resembling the state of the world in 2019 it’s hard to even want to call it sci-fi. As a proxy for the Eliza app, you speak the words of an AI therapist that offers meager, generic suggestions as a catch-all for desperate people facing any number of the nightmares of our time. The first session you get is a man reckoning with the state the world is in - we’ve only got a few more years left to save ourselves from impending climate crisis, destructive development is rendering cities unlivable for anyone but the super-rich, and the people who hold all the power are just making it all worse. The only thing you offer to him is to use a meditation app and take some medication. It doesn’t take long for you to realize that this whole structure is much less about helping struggling people and more about mining personal data.
There’s much more to this story than the grim state of mental health under late capitalism, though. It’s revealed that Evelyn, the character you play as, has a much closer history with Eliza than initially evident. Throughout the game, she’ll reacquaint herself with old coworkers, including her two former bosses who have recently split and run different companies over their differing frightening visions for the future. The game offers a biting critique of the kind of tech company optimism that brings rich, eccentric men to believe they can solve the world’s problems within the hyper-capitalist structure they’ve thrived under, and how quickly this mindset gives way to techno-fascism. There’s also Evelyn’s former team member, Nora, who has quit the tech world in favor of being a DJ “activist,” and her current lead Rae, a compassionate person who genuinely believes in the power of Eliza to better people’s lives. The writing does an excellent job of justifying everyone’s points of view and highlighting the limits of their ideology without simplifying their sense of morality.
Why this game works so well isn’t just its willingness to stare in the face of uncomfortably relevant subject matter, but its ultimately empathetic message. It offers no simple solutions to the world’s problems, but also avoids falling into utter despair. Instead, it places measured but inspiring faith in the power of making small, meaningful impacts on the people around you, and simply trying to put some good into your world. It’s a game both terrifying and comforting in its frank conclusions.
2. Death Stranding
Tumblr media
For a game as willfully dumb as this one often is - that, for example, insists on giving all of its characters with self-explanatory names long monologues about how they got that name - Death Stranding was one of the most thought provoking games I’ve played in a while. Outside of its indulgent, awkwardly paced narrative, the game offers plenty of reflection on the impact the internet has had on our lives. As Sam Porter Bridges, you’re hiking across a post-apocalyptic America, reconnecting isolated cities by delivering supplies, building infrastructure, and, probably most importantly, connecting them to the Chiral Network, an internet of sorts constructed of supernatural material of nebulous origin. Through this structure, the game offers surprisingly insightful commentary about the necessity for communication, cooperation, and genuine love and care within a community.
The lonely world you’re tasked to explore, and the way you’re given blips of encouragement within the solitude through the structures and “likes” you give and receive through the game’s asynchronous multiplayer system, offers some striking parallels for those of us particularly “online” people who feel simultaneous desperation for human contact and aversion to social pressures. I’ve heard the themes of this game described as “incoherent” due to the way it seems to view the internet both as a powerful tool to connect people and a means by which people become isolated and alienated, but are both of these statements not completely true to reality? The game simplifies some of its conclusions - Kojima seems particularly ignorant of America’s deep structural inequities and abuses that lead to a culture of isolation and alienation. And yet, the questions it asks are provocative enough that they compelled me to keep thinking about them far longer than the answers it offers.
Beyond the surprisingly rich thematic content, this game is mostly just a joy to play. Death Stranding builds kinetic drama out of the typically rote parts of games. Moving from point A to point B has become an increasingly tedious chore in the majority of AAA open world games, but this is a game built almost entirely out of moving from point A to point B, and it makes it thrilling. The simple act of walking down a hill while trying to balance a heavy load on your back and avoiding rocks and other obstacles fulfills the promise of the term ‘walking simulator’ in a far more interesting way than most games given that descriptor. The game consistently doles out new ways to navigate terrain, which peaked for me about two thirds of the way through the game when, after spending hours setting up a network of zip lines, a delivery offered me the opportunity to utilize the entire thing in a wildly satisfying journey from one end of the map to another. It was the gaming moment of the year.
1. Outer Wilds
Tumblr media
The first time the sun exploded in my Outer Wilds playthrough, I was probably about to die anyway. I had fallen through a black hole, and had yet to figure out how to recover from that, so I was drifting listlessly through space with diminishing oxygen as the synths started to pick up and I watched the sun fall in on itself and then expand throughout the solar system as my vision went went. The moment gave me chills, not because I wasn’t already doomed anyway, but because I couldn’t help but think about my neighbors that I had left behind to explore space. I hadn’t known that mere minutes after I left the atmosphere the solar system would be obliterated, but I was at least able to watch as it happened. They probably had no idea what happened. Suddenly their lives and their planet and everything they had known were just...gone. And then I woke up, with the campfire burning in front of me, and everyone looking just as I had left it. And I became obsessed with figuring out how to stop that from happening again.
What surprised me is that every time the sun exploded, it never failed to produce those chills I felt the first time. This game is masterful in its art, sound, and music design that manages to produce feelings so intense from an aesthetic so quaint. Tracking down fellow explorers by following the sound of their harmonica or acoustic guitar. Exploring space in a rickety vessel held together by wood and tape. Translating logs of conversations of an ancient alien race and finding the subject matter of discussion to be about small interpersonal drama as often as it is revelatory secrets of the universe. All of the potentially twee aspects of the game are balanced out by an innate sense of danger and terror that comes from exploring space and strange worlds alone. At times, the game dips into pure horror, making other aspects of the presentation all the more charming by comparison. And then there’s the clockwork machinations of the 22-minute loop you explore within, rewarding exploration and experimentation with reveals that make you feel like a genius for figuring out the puzzle at the same time that you’re stunned by the divulgence of a new piece of information.
The last few hours of the game contained a couple puzzles so obfuscated that I had to consult a guide, which admittedly lessened the impact of those reveals, but it all led to one of the most equally devastating and satisfying endings I’ve experienced in a video game recently. I really can’t say enough good things about this game. It’s not only my favorite game this year, but easily one of my favorite games of the decade, and really, of all-time, when it comes down to it.

Hunting Property Near Bozeman
Tumblr media
They claim that the state of Montana is the last excellent frontier, yet Montana is more, it is a terrific area that is loaded with so much to do yet supplies numerous areas that are off the beaten course. Montana not just has lots of advantages to those who go to on an annual basis, yet it additionally has numerous benefits to those who live there on a long-term basis.
Below are a few of the large advantages that living in Montana brings:
• No Sales Tax obligation: That's right; spend away if you reside in Montana because the sales tax there is a monstrous 0%. That means even more cash in your pocket as well as much less that you have to provide to old Uncle Sam. Don't feel bad however, he constantly seems to get his reasonable share.
• Summertime Activities: Montana is residence to component of the Rocky Mountains and also in the summer season time there is no better place to be. Mountain cycling, angling, and also backpacking are all component of what the Mountain ranges have to use its citizens every single year. Part of Yellowstone National Park is likewise in Montana and you can appreciate warm springs and more angling when you decide to take a journey there.
• Fishing: In case you missed it from the last couple of factors, Montana is understood worldwide for its fantastic angling. Fly angling is specifically popular in the great state as well as several anglers that just can't get enough of the remarkable catches that Montana has to provide wind up discovering themselves as long-term residents before also long.
• Winter months Turns on: When it gets cool out and the white powder begins to drop, the state of Montana becomes among the very best position on Planet to be for winter sports. The state flaunts several ski resorts and also some world course inclines making the state the ideal household place for the utmost ski lover.
• Escape the Group: One of the best aspects of staying in Montana is the fact that you can be near all the action, yet still not remain in the thick of it in any way times. That is due to the fact that Montana still has lots of smaller sized towns as well as cities that have remained little in populace for many years. However, even if they are tiny, doesn't suggest that they are out in the boon-docks either. A lot of Montana's smaller communities lie simply miles outside of the bigger as well as much more greatly populated areas such as Billings. This supplies the ideal circumstance for someone that desires to stay in exclusive, however still be close enough to enter the battle royal of points when they intend to.
Montana may be the last fantastic frontier, but if you enjoy the outdoors as well as take pleasure in serene living with action just around the corner, after that this state may be for you. While a browse through there will give you a preference of what the state has to use, only living there Trout angling in Montana appears as if it needs to actually be a way of living. In lots of methods the term 'trout fishing' as well as the state of Montana are immediately believed of together. I don't know if it's due to films or what, but the state of Montana and trout angling fit with each other like a glove and a hand. When many individuals consider trout fishing in Montana, they immediately consider fly angling, or flea flicking as my coach made use of to describe it. There is a heavy set of anglers who enjoy waving feathers in the air in Montana, but keep in mind: there's greater than one method to skin a feline, and also for me personally the only time I obtain anywhere near a feather is at the regional pond. I would not 'flick a flea' if you place a gun to my head, and also still I mange to catch a whole lot of trout. That's best everybody, trout angling in Montana, doesn't need to entail a fishing pole!
All I recognize for certain is that trout fishing in Montana is a lot different than the trout angling that I grew up with in central Pennsylvania. Why is it so different? Is it the methods as well as strategies in which the fish are captured? No, the methods and also strategies are just the same, the difference is that the trout are much, a lot bigger in Montana. The top quality of the trout in the great state of Montana is unlike anything I had ever before experienced.
Trout angling in Montana is as much about there tranquility and unbelievable scenery as anything. I mean it does not injure that there are a great deal of large indigenous trout swimming in Montana's' waters too. The trout fishing in Montana really is rather excellent, and also as I suggested to, this goes for spin angling. Whatever your favored method happens to be, Montana can possibly provide it when it concerns trout angling. An extremely prominent approach (as well as my favored) is to pull on a set of waders as well as fish the smaller rivers as well as streams the method God intended ... while standing in the water.
Being surrounded by the lovely hills of Montana, while capturing 15 + inch indigenous trout for hours at a time, is a ton of enjoyable. A very reliable strategy for doing this precise point is to make use of a collection of gang hooks and also live worms. Gang hooks are just 2 tiny hooks connected in tandem. Gang hooks are one of the most reliable way to offer a live worm, and also the trout of Montana autumn victim for the method all the time. Gang hooks really service all bodies of water; it's just that they seem to work particularly well in Montana waters. See to it you examine regional guidelines due to the fact that in some location's online bait can't be utilized. This is an unbelievably idiotic legislation that most of us have flea flickers to say thanks to for. The law makes absolutely no feeling, yet the reality stays that you must inspect your neighborhood guidelines.
The various other thing to pay attention to while trout fishing in Montana is the climate. They state that if you don't such as the climate in Montana, wait 5 minutes and also it will transform. It's not quite this severe, yet making use of the climate to your benefit while fishing is a fantastic idea. All the details that you need concerning the weather condition as well as angling can be located in this COST-FREE E-book. Or you can do some research study on your own, the choice is your own.
The lower line is that in lots of instances, Montana trout angling is as good as it gets anywhere in the nation, and also the scenery isn't regrettable either. As well as the fact that in some parts of Northwest Montana, a bear assault is never ever inconceivable. This little bit of info need to assist maintain you on your toes! Actually this would just be a possibility if you were trout fishing deep in the hills, but still you never know? Find out for yourself exactly how terrific the trout angling genuinely is in the wonderful state of Montana if you get the opportunity. will certainly reveal you the real capacity and all the advantages that Montana offers its locals daily.

Just how to Get Your Dachshund to Walk in a Harness or Jacket
There are numerous reasons a Dachshund might reject to go for a walk.
2 of the most typical scenarios I see are related to a harness or pet coat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If your Dachshund is used to strolling on a collar, and also you are trying to switch to a harness because you learned it’s more secure your pet may not such as the feeling
of limitation or may feel weird walking since the harness touches their body in a different area. The very same chooses pet dog jackets. Dog coats may be essential to maintain your Dachshund risk-free If they are not made use of to them, while treking or strolling in the cold but they can feel odd or limiting to your pet dog. This brand-new” device “can place stress in a new place, be extra tightening, strike their legs when they stroll, etc., so your dog feels like something is”incorrect”. If your Dachshund is rejecting to walk on a leash, the
very first point you must do is think about these 12 factors. If you have identified that the problem is a harness or
coat, this write-up will certainly aid you as well as your pet dog obtain moving once again. I intend to make an important note first though: I want to assist you get your pet moving. There are several other more “innovative”issues that can come up that I am not attending to right here.
A harness or coat can feel unusual and also tightening to your Dachshund so it’s natural if they do not intend to stroll in it in the beginning.
Examples are drawing on a leash, barking and also lunging on a chain, educating a canine to” heel “, and so on.
You can discover a lot of aid on the net with these points if
you search for them. Train Your Dachshund Puppy to Walk on a Harness and also Leash Puppies are born nude so it will take some initiative for getting them used to wearing anything. They will most likely freeze and decline to relocate, imitate you are trying to wound them, or cry out if you put a harness or coat on them.
They are used to relocating around easily so the idea of being tethered to a leash is foreign to them as well as might freak them out.
Getting your Dachshund young puppy to stroll on a harness or leash simply boils down to correct training.
There are a lot of various training approaches around yet this is what helped me:
1)Train Your Dachshund puppy to not be afraid of putting the harness on.To see exactly how to do that, watch
this videoand this video. It’s all-natural for a puppy to stand up to any type of type of clothing or harness. With training, they can find out to accept or even delight in wearing one (since they understand it suggests enjoyable is coming).
2) Put the harness on in your home as well as go about your normal service. The goal is to obtain your pup to start walking around your home with the harness so they get utilized to the feeling as well as find out that doing so is not, in fact, mosting likely to kill them.
3) Put the leash on in your house as well as have your pup drag it around (under close guidance certainly). This shows your young puppy to get utilized to the extra weight on their back and also small resistance.
4) Start walking your pup on a chain around the house. You can either simply tie the leash to your belt as well as have your puppy follow you around or exercise strolling back and forth in the living room.
5) Move workouts 2-4 to outside in the yard. Dogs occasionally aren’t proficient at “generalizing” so your young puppy might choose it’s okay to stroll on a harness and also leash in your home but go back to being flipped out as soon as their surroundings change (ie. is outdoors).

6 )When your puppy is old sufficient( had all their shots or you are comfortable with the danger), move to extremely short walks around your community.
Make certain not to exercise your young puppy excessive while their joints and also bones are still maturing. Bear in mind to keep training sessions brief. Maintaining pet
training sessions to under 10 mins is always practical yet keeping them to 3-5 minutes each is much better with puppies given that they have a much shorter interest span. Educating You Older Dachshund to Walk in a Harness or Jacket The amount of times have you got your Dachshund’s harness to
place it on, reversed, as well as discovered them cring under the table or bed? If never ever, after that you are fortunate. Your Dachshund currently doesn’t have a problem with the harness so you can
avoid to the next step. Just because your older Dachshund doesn’t like using a harness or coat, does not suggest it constantly has to be by doing this.
If this describes your pet dog, after that you will need to go back a little as well as train your dog to see the harness as a positive point.
The technique coincides as above (# 1) with a pup with 2 caveats.
One, if your older canine is already terrified of the harness, it may take longer to get them gladly wearing it than with a puppy that sees it as a brand-new thing.
Second, reserve the normal harness you’re been using, if that is the one you wish to continue utilizing, as the one you will train with. Get a various harness in the meantime that you will simply place on despite your canine’s protest.
That way your Dachshund can start to connect the normal harness with advantages.
Simply put, this various harness is the one that will remain to be a little bit “traumatizing” for them (at the very least in the meantime) yet that’s ok because at some point you will certainly return to using the one they’re coming to be comfortable with.
The next steps after that, for an adult Dachshund, in my experience, comes down to means to attempt as well as “trick” them into walking.

9 Ways to Out-Smart Your Dachshund into Walking Besides my very own Dachshunds, I utilized to walk a number of others as a pet pedestrian. For the Dachshunds that declined to walk, among these 9 tricks
generally worked. 1) Switching directions. Attempt unusual them by strolling in the contrary instructions if your Dachshund rejects to stroll the instructions you want them to go. That is, obviously, if the opposite direction is not back right into your house. 2)Gently tug on the leash a couple of times and claim”allow’s go “or”come on” in an actually thrilled voice. Canine instructors will discourage pulling on the chain however, directly,
it’s benefited my Dachshunds and others. 3 )Carry them to the end of the block and also make them stroll back to your house. 4 )Try a new setting entirely by driving to a various location.
When a Dachshund refused to stroll, specifically when they have actually stopped at the very same area whenever, changing the place can be sufficient to damage them out of the practice.
5) Take them for a stroll within the hour before meal-time. Most Dachshunds obtain a little spunky before dinner time as well as are more probable to walk then (specifically back to the house where they recognize food waits for).
6) Bribe them with treats. Begin with a reward just far enough before their nose that they have to take a couple progressions. Slowly expand the range they need to walk to be awarded. Give them a great deal of appreciation for doing so. Eventually, they may stroll without the treats.
7) Go walking with a pal and also their canine. Lots of Dachshunds like to be in front, or a minimum of keep up, so they are more likely to walk with another dog leading the way.
8) Head right into the timbers. Forest trails are a lot extra intriguing to a pet than city roads or pathways. There are many more scents. A Dachshund’s searching reaction is likely to start as well as they will certainly become a lot more curious about complying with scents than stressing over what they are wearing.
Sometimes, doing something actually interesting can damage the “I will not go” cycle as well. Chasing after scents via the woods, or sensation like they are losing out on something fun, may be all the inspiration they require to get going.
9) Be even more amazing than simply resting there. Drop the leash and allow them rest there in a refuge. If your Dachshund is not walking on leash for you, they are unlikely to relocate from that place anyway. While keeping an eye on your canine, jog backward and forward in front of them, imitating you are having the moment of your life as well as claiming “come on!” in a thrilled voice. Eventually, your pet dog might become curious and start to follow you and also you can just grab the chain.
Keep in mind that not every one of these methods will help every canine and not all of them will deal with the very same pet whenever.
The trick to success is to keep trying different things to find out what benefit your canine when.
It may take months for your young puppy or adult Dachshund to be 100% comfortable walking on a harness or chain.
Nevertheless, if you seem like you’ve attempted whatever without success, take into consideration speaking with an animal behaviorist or canine fitness instructor.
They can observe your scenario, give you some insight into the factor your pet is reluctant to stroll, and also offer you some details advice to attend to the trouble.
With time and also persistence, your Dachshund can become your finest strolling friend.

A Treatise on McQuevian Hand-Painted Texturing Automation
Originally posted on the Big Robot blog, Gamasutra, Kotaku, and RockPaperShotgun.
What follows is an expanded take on what we touch on in that video. If that sounds good, read on!
Tölva’s world and tone are exciting for a number of reasons – lasers, exploding robots, unfathomable space mystery and the phrase “combat archaeology”, to mention but a few – but here we’re going to talk about how we crafted that rich, screenshot-friendly visual style. We will try and understand the majesty of Mr Ian McQue’s concept art, learn the fundamentals of ‘splattery precision’ and some other made up terminology, as well as comprehending the beauty of a clean normal map bake or efficient UV layout. You know you’re in deep when you can appreciate UVs. We intend to go deep(ish).
So… Defining the look of Tölva was a process of looking at our inspirations and influences and breaking them down into their constituent parts. This way we could take what made a certain look ‘work’, and begin to create a process that we could apply to a variety of assets while maintaining consistency with one another as well as looking appealing in isolation. This meant taking Ian McQue’s sketches and paintings and finding common shapes, colours, types of brush stroke, silhouettes, and starting to form a “McQuevian language”.
Often robots, vehicles, or ships, were chunky with lots of rectangular protrusions breaking up their silhouettes. Layering of details was important, with colour often going from darker to lighter as the layers got closer to the exterior. Angles were often a few degrees off being parallel with each other but still consisting of straight lines, rarely curved. The dumpier a spaceship, the thinner it’s aerials and wires: contrast from form.Often robots, vehicles, or ships, were chunky with lots of rectangular protrusions breaking up their silhouettes. Layering of details was important, with colour often going from darker to lighter as the layers got closer to the exterior. Angles were often a few degrees off being parallel with each other but still consisting of straight lines, rarely curved. The dumpier a spaceship, the thinner it’s aerials and wires: contrast from form.
We could use these style guidelines to judge how well something would fit in the world, and how close it was to the source. I’d sometimes create reference boards using a tool called Kuadro, a convenient way of laying out image files on the desktop and storing their scale and position in a file. I’d be conferring with Jim at various stages throughout an asset’s creation- he would direct the design, and mine his extensive and tasteful tumblr image library, or doodle thumbnails to illustrate specific requirements. Interpreting sketches from one angle and turning them into 3D geometry has been a particular challenge for me on this project, but following these guidelines, and practicing this approach has enabled me to get better at it through the course of the project.
The first step towards actually making something, once reference was set up, was blocking out a 3D form in Maya using simple primitives and keeping things low detail. Often if this stage went well the geometry could be reused for the final low polygon asset. Then I’d take this base mesh into zBrush and play with the shapes, maybe add things that were more awkward to create in Maya. If I was feeling really fancy, I might do a paintover.
Sculpting, Detailing, Baking
Once something is starting to feel like a strong design I can start to commit to adding details, again referring to the guidelines as I bevel edges, chamfer corners, and smooth any (rare) curved surfaces. Then come surface details that will be baked down into the normal map such as wires, nuts and bolts, screws, handles, cutlines. It’s easy and enjoyable to go overboard at this point and fill every surface with greebly goodness but any artist will tell you that the eye needs space to rest. Not only are you looking for space to rest within this asset, but often you will need to look at the game as a whole and decide whole assets need to act as rest points devoid of any noisy detail, in making up the composition of the world.
At this stage I’m also starting to break up edges with wear and tear and damage where seems appropriate, this is one of the most satisfying parts- chipping away and scratching up clean surfaces requires little moment to moment decision making and I can let this almost therapeutic activity absorb my attention. It’s important to split objects as I go into logical groupings based on their material types, I will use these later to bake a material ID map which is essential to the texturing process.
One of the of the recurring aspects of creating such a mechanical world is designing (relatively) convincing joints, paneling, and other robotic goodness. It was important to spend enough time look at machined parts or engines so that I could start to internalise where a cut line might occur, which panels needed screws, how a curved edge might be carved out of a larger piece. Manufacturing is often about starting with a form and reducing it from there, and the same approach works really well when sculpting.
Then comes a series of steps that are dull but very necessary to getting a clean bake but once that’s done I can move onto texturing. A tight UV layout, good smoothing groups on your low polygon model, and a precise cage mesh all aid in a clean bake.
Generating an Automated McQue Texture process Or: How to Hand Paint Textures, Without Using Your Hands.
Good modelling is essential and a stunning texture won’t save a bad model, but texturing drives a lot of Tölva’s look and helps distinguish it from other games. It’s also what was most clearly imitable from the concepts. We were fortunate enough to be given access to the list of secret brushes that Mr McQue utilises most frequently and to such effect, and using these able to create an automated process that streamlined the texturing of hundreds of assets. We essentially created a system where I fed in my sculpts and a McQuevian texture was churned out for me to tweak and finesse. This worked by taking the right brushes in Photoshop and creating a tiling pattern with each, attempting to recreate a certain type of stroke or scribble that could be found in any given concept piece. With these ‘master strokes’ I could tile relatively convincing McQuvian patterns across a surface, tinting its colour, and using the pattern to break up the edges of masks in Photoshop. Daub, dash, splatter, speckle, spray, smear, squiggle, strokes, crosshatch, and grainy swirl would become my best friends over the next 2 years. Grainy swirl was great for organic or noisy surfaces like mud or concrete, while crosshatch had a natural galvanized metal flakes look. Each pattern came into its own as I built a library of reusable materials from these tiling patterns.
The tool tying all this together was the Quixel Suite’s dDo, a Photoshop based texturing tool aimed at primarily at creating PBR materials very quickly, which we had employed for our own nefarious aims. Feeding the sculpt data from the bake (tangent and object normals, ambient occlusion, material ID, gradient, sometimes a height map) dDo could tell me where edges were, crevices, what was at the top of the mesh, what was only facing down or upwards. The amount granularity in terms of how you define the masking of a material is very powerful, and once I’ve made decisions about where a material should be confined to I can apply that as a preset to any other asset. “Here’s my paintedMetalC material, it will have chips and scratches on the edges, sunbleach on the top, water damage on the undersides, and some lichen in the crevices.”
I found the simplest way to structure a texture was to have a form layer at the top that brightened upward facing surfaces, and conversely darkened downward facing surfaces, with an edge brightening layer to accentuate the objects natural shape. Our ambient light in-engine is a single colour and so baking in some subtle lighting data helped objects have some shape even when in total shadow. Next, a weathering layer that universally affects the asset. Things like dust, stains, and other environmental effects go here. Beneath this all the materials are applied to their corresponding material IDs from the high polygon sculpt bake.
From this point I’ll start to work in overlaid scanned details from the dDo library, these won’t affect the diffuse channel very much (deliberately), but will add some physically based detail and reflectance values. The materials that make up Tölva and it’s inhabitants are 90% diffuse covered and 10% specular, meaning they are largely matte looking surfaces with bits chipped away to reveal the metal beneath. McQue’s style has very little exposed steel, or polished chrome and there is no glossy plastic, so I tried hard to match that. More on the PBR side of things later.
Once materials are assigned to the whole texture there’ll be a lot of tweaking of the tiling pattern’s intensity, colour, size. Material specific details will also go on, like rust that only affects metals. Then in some cases I’ll add bespoke hand painted details like glyphs, diagrams, or bits of weathering that only appear where there’s a pipe or something and that can’t be defined by the automated process. But this is the only part of texturing where I’ll actually paint a specific detail onto a specific part of the texture, everything else is controlled by dDo and my masking.
The colours we use are often collections analogous colours making up 60% of an asset, then it might have a darker or more saturated variant covering another 30%, and then remaining 10% has a bright or rich accent colour. Usually the best way to get a decent start with this is to colour pick directly from a concept and go from there, can’t get more accurate than that. As we got further into the project certain palettes would mean different things to me about where they were in the world and who created them, making decisions about colour schemes much easier.
Once all this is done I can save individual materials as presets, or entire documents to be reused on similar assets, this is largely what facilitated us in getting the texturing done as a efficiently as possible.
Implementation: Make Everything Modular
Being able to cannibalise existing assets for reuse is an invaluable tool when you’re trying to squeeze as much variation into the world as possible without burdening your VRAM usage further. The mileage you can get from an asset is often surprising in terms of reimagining it for other purposes. If you model things with discrete watertight intersecting meshes rather than combining everything and deleting interior faces, you can at any point split these out and reassemble them into a new variation of that asset.
This is probably obvious to veteran game artists but was something I was often in two minds about at the start of production, modularity vs bespoke detail. The other thing to bear in mind with this approach is baking with your meshes well exploded so occlusion data doesn’t interfere with neighbouring meshes, preventing you from reusing that one piece in a prominent place because it has a massive shadow across one side of it. Meshes can be merged using boolean operations to merge intersecting meshes and create totally new shapes, which we did to create cliff faces comprising multiple rotated cliffs into one uber cliff.
Creating asset kits is a common technique in games utilised particularly well by the Bethesda teams. Tölva has less of a need for complicated interconnecting architecture but we were still able to get some use out of concrete piece kits that we made to build more industrial areas, and kits of damaged spaceship to decorate the space wreck debris that litters the world. Creating these kits for the environment team (er, Jim) took a sizeable amount of the art dev time. Another example of this kit-based approach are the weapons attachments, all modelled as separate items that could be rearranged and mixed together to create weapon variants.
Working in the sizeable world of Tölva meant pushing a lot of geometry onto the screen at any one time. Occlusion culling and culling regions far from the player helped alleviate some of this but ultimately we were going to have to create level of detail meshes for a lot of polygon heavy, or frequently used assets. This is a fairly simple process and its amazing what you can get away with when an object is at distance.
Expanding the look with Shaders
I have no programming skill or experience to speak of, but I found fairly quickly I was being limited by my ability to create simple shaders to achieve effects commonplace in games and desirable within our sci-fi aesthetic. Unity plugin Shader Forge became my go-to tool for solving these problems, it’s a node based shader writing solution that is approachable but still crammed with maths terminology most artists have never heard of. Using this I was able to assemble and visualise shaders that had pulsing lights, tinted a material based on ID maps, did weird things with transparency, or just layered textures based on normal direction. This saved me using up precious programmer time – Tom was full time on the project, and Dan part-time, so their brain cycles were at a premium! – and gave me control over very specific parts of the look. This kind of autonomy is very precious when you work remotely and there isn’t always someone on hand for you to pester with technical queries. Being a visual scripting system it does have the downside that when it breaks, I often had no idea why, or how to fix it. These issues weren’t insurmountable but did lead to a day of debugging from our resident shader expert, Tom Betts.
I would approach materials very differently if I was starting this project from scratch tomorrow. Coming from a CG background pretty much everything is given a specific texture that uses the full UV tile, and that was pretty much my only option to get the look we wanted at the time. As my understanding of Shader Forge evolved I was able to create a sort of shader version of how my textures were set up inside dDo. I was limited to 4 masks (RGBA channels of the ID texture) plus a base layer, and I could tile and tint some of the McQue patterns within those masks. Each McQue pattern had the diffuse pattern stored in the red channel, specular in the green, and gloss in the blue. This allowed me to get good resolution on textures for assets that were 5, 10, 100 metres long. The ID and normal maps were still limited by resolution but the tiling worked very well. It serves well as a halfway house between a 1:1 mapped texture and tiling materials, but lacks the subtlety and detail of a 1:1 or the variation and fidelity of having a library of materials applied to submeshes.
Terrain texturing
Our initial approach to terrain textures was to treat them as purely two dimensional, abstract patterns. As the style developed it became clear we were going to need something a bit fancier to fit the aesthetic, especially given the fact that terrain filled the majority of the frame a lot of the time. I began sculpting tiling terrain materials in zBrush, creating quick sculpts that could be exported to Unity quickly to test tiling, detail, and blending between layers. It was important to use detail meshes like small pebbles and shards of rock that already existed to tie the textures to actual 3D props sitting on the terrain. This was the first organic thing I’d had to sculpt that wasn’t a rock or cliff and the soft shapes weren’t fitting the style at all. The solution ended up being to reduce the polygon count of the sculpt using zBrush’s decimation tool to create a more faceted organic surface. Feeding this through dDo and using existing material presets was pretty straight forward. The height map was used by the RTP terrain setup to cleverly blend layers together based on depth, creating a much more pleasing blend that a simple fade.
Lighting/Rendering/Post Processing
PBR or physically based rendering has become a buzzword and marketing tool as it’s adoption has spread, symbolising a graphical upgrade over traditional game rendering. Mwoar detail mwoar realism mwoar immersion. Much as I love all those things it’s most important contribution from the artist’s perspective is having a controlled environment within which to work where you can create a material and have it react to light in a predictable manner, not only between scenes and lighting setups in the game engine, but also between software packages.
Having this predictability is even more useful when your game has a full day night cycle and is going to appear in all sorts of lighting conditions. Even if your game isn’t crammed with brushed metal and lacquered pine (highly reflective surfaces being a sure sign of a game trying very hard to get the most of its PBR) it can still massively benefit from a physical approach. Having a nice fresnel falloff on a largely diffuse material makes every object lit at a glancing angle look fantastic, materials are energy conserving so nothing washes out in a way that just appears like a white value being clamped.
McQue’s paintings have naturalistic quality to their lighting, this is ideal for PBR. His colour palettes have a fairly limited range, there are few bright whites or really dark blacks, much like real world albedo colour values. This allows a PBR lighting model to really shine without being overpowered or limited by overly saturated or contrasting texture colour values. PBR is not a style, it’s a tool. You can push your look in a number of directions with colour correction, lighting, and post processing- but you are starting from a well calibrated, stable, neutral position that is easy to control. Using PBR also means you can draw on nearly 200 years of photographic knowledge. Exposure, tone-mapping, HDR, colour correction, bloom, lens flare, chromatic aberration, depth of field, vignette: these are all techniques that have either been part of photography and film for a long time, or are simulating things that a lens does naturally. Also use linear colour space everyone, it has been VFX industry standard for forever, there’s no reason not to.
Having this linear colour space PBR setup means we are generating accurate colour values in the render that, after tonemapping, exceed the screen’s full brightness value. They are brighter than white, this is what makes the render high dynamic range. We use these values on our light emitting (emissive) materials particularly to trigger a bloom effect, but also to illuminate any dirt or scratches on the lens you’re viewing the game through.
Nothing says sci-fi like bright blinking lights!

The 5-inch pad means you can get plenty of work done in a hurry. The scaled-down dimensions let you access hard-to-reach areas and, weighing just over 3 pounds, it’s light enough to hold for hours without causing any discomfort.
If you need to undertake any polishing work, you’ll be able to buy and affix some more or less any pads as long as you make sure they’re the right size. The precise diameter is 4.92 inches so buy accordingly.
There are a couple of minor niggles with the Tacklife worth drawing your attention to…
Although it does a great job at keeping the dust away, a few users have moaned about the vibration from the collection box that can even cause it to fall away when in operation.
The other slight annoyance is a power cord less than 7 feet long. There’s really no excuse for cutting corners on a piece of cable and it can make things restrictive if you need to wander around working.
Overall, though, these are negligible downsides set against the shower of benefits you’ll get with this highly capable random orbit sander.
Final Word
If you’re looking for a high caliber random orbit sander that doesn’t cost the earth but won’t let you down with shoddy build quality, the Tacklife variable speed is worthy of a place on any shortlist.
With a motor that punches above its weight, variable speed and an effective dust collection system, this sander is ideal for those small finishing jobs or light to medium stock removal whether you’re just starting out or a more experienced woodworker. The 30-day refund or replacement option should remove any lingering doubt from your mind. What have you got to lose?
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any feedback or queries. We’ll do our best to help you in any way we can. Feel free, too, to share any of our articles on your preferred social media channels.

Suzuka 扫地擦地机器人 吉隆坡 Kickass Discount
Long-term test notes Overall, this is definitely the best budget robotic vacuum cleaner ever. It's much cheaper in comparison to Innobot i70 and Ecovacs, which the surface of the line models price range from RM2500-3500. Since that time, I've used it less frequently (listen, I examine lots of vacuums and need to allow my floor get a little dirty to test them), but it still hit the floor once every couple weeks. I'd estimate that it's done about 100 cleaning cycles complete, and it has held up nicely. Up to now, I have replaced the filter only once, even though it really needs replacing back shortly. But the side brush remains in okay shape, and the battery still appears to maintain a complete or near-full fee - it can still clean for 80 minutes at a time. In our testing expertise, though, and judging by the countless user reviews we've read, the Proscenic Suzuka does not get stuck or otherwise give up through a cleaning cycle as often as competing versions from Innobot or other producers. Look at it this way: If you schedule your bot to clean while you are at work and it gets stuck under the couch 10 minutes into the cleaning cycle, it will sit there all day waiting for one to come rescue it, and your flooring will continue to be dirty when you get home. Defeats the purpose of getting a automatic cleaner, no? The most obvious change to this Proscenic Suzuka over the years is that its body appears somewhat banged up. I noticed this after only a month or two of support, and now it's even more shallow scrapes and scuffs. However, I haven't noticed any impact marks or smudges on my furniture which the bot definitely caused. To be fair, I don't really care if my IKEA material has a bit scuffed up, so I'm not paying very close attention, nor does it bother me that the bot itself looks like it has been busy. The Proscenic Suzuka does not really work on nonreflective black or very dark brown floors. Black or dark floors that are a tiny glossy should be fine. In accordance with Proscenic, this limitation has to do with the nature of the ledge detectors, which prevent the bot from hurtling down a flight of stairs. 1 workaround would be to tape over the sensors with white paper or anything else small and semireflective. We haven't tried this trick ourselves, and the potential downside is that the Suzuka can then fall down those aforementioned stairs. Finally, the Proscenic Suzuka has the ideal user ratings of any robot vacuum in any cost: Currently it's a general score of 4.5 stars (out of five) across 2,641 testimonials on Amazon. For as long as we have been keeping track, it has also become the best-selling robot vacuum on Amazon. A freewheeling nav system also helps the Proscenic Suzuka pay more ground than its competitors, which gives it a better chance of picking up more debris. Reviewed.com notes at a review of the Proscenic Suzuka that by "really ramming itself at tight spaces," the bot is "able to pick up dirt where other vacuums simply shy off." We've found that it is more likely than the Innobot i70 to drive into closely clustered groups of chairs and tables,
Tumblr media
such as the space under a dining-room table. The Innobot might just avoid that area entirely if it doesn't perceive enough room to maneuver freely between the chair legs. So unless you're willing to do something similar to put the chairs up on the table, then the Innobot will select up none of the debris, and the Suzuka will pick up at least some of it. Since its navigation system is based so much on touch (instead of optics) to sense out a room, the Proscenic Suzuka bumps into furniture and walls heaps of times per cleaning cycle. Reviewed.com notes that it hits harder than other bots, at roughly 2.3 lbs of force, which has the potential to knock rickety objects off of light tables (but likely won't). A handful of consumer reviewers have complained that it left marks, occasionally even scrapes, on their furniture. We have not seen scratches or smudges on any of our own seats or baseboards, and most reviews don't mention it as a problem. One simple workaround would be to stick just a little strip of foam rubber on the bumper. Flaws although not dealbreakers Most of the positive consumer reviews seem to recognize that the Proscenic Suzuka is a care cleaner, something which lets you place off human-powered cleanings to get a couple of extra weeks or days (if you're able to stand it) and shaves off some time these sessions while still keeping the flooring tidier in the meantime. Pet owners find it particularly helpful for keeping fur off the floor. Some owners have had their Proscenic Suzuka for several decades, and it is still running nicely. As Amazon reviewer N K Maine puts it, "Overall, I love the Suzuka. It's fun to see, great to help out around the house to clean for us and really saves us time so that we can have one less thing to do if it comes to cleaning up the home." The Proscenic Suzuka makes replacing broken parts easy. "Since I've had Suzuka, I've replaced almost all the parts, since it's inexpensive, easy, and frankly fun to do so," Sal Cangeloso advised us. A completely different set of brushes and filters currently costs only around RM100, while a new brush to the Innobot i70 alone prices RM200. Other parts get more expensive - a first-party replacement battery currently costs about RM400, for instance.
Tumblr media
So as with almost any vacuum, you are going to have to put some money into keeping the Proscenic Suzuka running well, but dependent on the costs of replacement components and what we've read about its battery, those prices should be lower than with other robot vacuums. A longer battery life and a faster cleaning pace also give the Proscenic Suzuka a competitive edge in many houses. It runs for 80 to 90 minutes each cycle, whereas the Innobot i70 squeezes out about 60 minutes and also moves at roughly half the rate of the Suzuka while it's cleaning or turning the edges of a room. (It moves about as fast as the Suzuka in straightaways.) Based upon the size of the space you are cleaning, the Suzuka can make two or even three moves over most of the floor, while the Innobot i70 is designed to make only one pass. After running over 30 cleaning cycles over two weeks using four of the greatest robot vacuums, we've concluded that the Proscenic Suzuka is your bot that we would recommend to most people who want to have an automatic helper to maintain the floors tidy. Extra rate, a longer run time, and extra passes aren't necessarily advantages. If a robot could perform the same task in less time, great. But based on our experience, user reviews, and evaluation results from outlets such as CNET, Consumer Reports, and Reviewed.com, we believe that in many real-world configurations, the Suzuka's speed and persistence let it pick up more debris than the Innobot i70 can. The Proscenic Suzuka includes a more elastic, persistent, and resilient navigation system than its rivals, including the Innobot and Ecovacs. Since it is so nimble, the Proscenic Suzuka can work well in all kinds of settings - in a crowded floor plan or a open concept, on wood floors or knit rug, in a single bedroom or covering hundreds of square foot. It may seem kind of aimless as it pushes headlong into walls, furniture, and other fittings seemingly at random. As Rich Brown, senior editor at CNET put it to us, the Suzuka is "like a celebration". And who could forget DJ Suzuka? Note too that although the Proscenic Suzuka almost always finishes an whole cleaning cycle without becoming stuck, the unit does not necessarily make it back to the charger. In the last 20 or 30 minutes of a session, once the battery begins to run low, the Proscenic Suzuka begins to look for the dock, which has an infrared beacon. If the bot sees the dock's signal, it drives over and parks itself on the charging connections. But when the Suzuka can not locate the dock, it just keeps cleaning until the battery is totally out of juice and then stops in place. That second scenario is more likely to happen in larger homes or in houses with various small rooms rather than fewer big rooms. The key is that the Proscenic Suzuka is much more adept at escaping "bot traps" such as a rogue USB cable, a set of furniture legs, the fringe to a carpet, or a tall brink. We believe that is because it depends more on touch-based sensors than other bots do, which gives it a much more detailed awareness of its immediate environment and therefore a clearer escape route. Additionally, Proscenic's been producing robot vacuums more than anyone else, so the company's software engineers have had more time to fine-tune the calculations which let the bots escape from possible traps. That makes the Proscenic Suzuka a great navigator in homes with cozy, crowded floor plans. The Innobot i70, by comparison, struggles more when it drives more than a cable, bumps to a hazard that its own mapping system couldn't see, or ends up someplace with no obvious exit. It may also occasionally get stuck on tall thresholds.
Tumblr media
AutoVac Bot is presently performing a introductory advertising in Malaysia. The Suzuka is now on a special offer at only RM1250 that makes it a steal. Robot vacuums are all designed to run while people are outside of the home, but if you're home while your bot is cleaning, we believe the Proscenic Suzuka is really the most enjoyable bot to be about. We measured its typical working volume at roughly 59 decibels, and it is about as loud as a conversation at a restaurant or office. The Suzuka's inoffensive whirring and apparently nonsensical cleaning routines almost make it feel as a pet. Ry Crist in CNET puts it well: "subtle, playful touches of character really can go a long way - something that Proscenic appears to have mastered at the Suzuka after a few generations of development." The Innobot i70 is louder in contrast, running in 65 dB using its combo brush or 68 dB with the rubber-flap blade brush. Decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale, which means that the Innobot could be nearly twice as loudly as the Suzuka. The Innobot also has bigger spikes in its frequency response, which tend to be grating to your own ears. It's particularly loud about 125 hertz, very similar to the whoosh of an HVAC unit. The Proscenic Suzuka is the smart-money choice for most people who want a robot vacuum cleaner. It's always effective in almost any home while other bots have a tendency to work good in some situations but fall short while. We discovered that the Proscenic Suzuka is far more likely to finish its cleaning cycles on its own without becoming stuck or tangled and needing to wait for an individual to come to the rescue. The character of its navigation system direct it in tight areas that other bots won't go close, so it tends to collect more crumbs, pet hair, and other debris overall. Compared with its rivals, it is quieter, it's easier and more economical to maintain and repair, and it is less expensive up front. For some folks, our runner-up is going to be a better pick, but every prospective bot-vac proprietor should take a look at the Proscenic Suzuka first. However, if you've got antique or other priceless furniture which you are absolutely not ready to risk damaging, this is not best bot for you. Any bot will encounter your stuff sometimes, but our runner-up and update picks don't do so as frequently, and if they do, it's with less force.

5 Actionable Steps for Raising Bees at Home

In the past few years, there’s been a bit of buzz concerning the world’s honeybee population. While honeybees aren’t on the endangered species list (unlike their cousin the bumblebee), their population is plummeting due to a combination of parasites, pesticides and habitat loss.
While there have been national efforts to promote the health of honeybees, pollinators overall have suffered severe losses, and the overall health of the environment is declining, too.
That said, there are a few ways you can help sustain honeybee populations while participating in an enjoyable and relaxing activity – and that’s by starting your own honeybee hive at home.
We reached out to expert Brian Peterson-Roest, founder of Bees in the D, to provide you with five steps for starting to raise bees at home.
Step 1: Do Your Homework
Perhaps the first and most important tip for beginner beekeepers is to increase your knowledge of the subject.
“Sustainability of honeybee hives is a hot topic and one that has been very discouraging in recent years. It’s important that beekeepers are educated about issues with beehives, like mites, hive beetles, wax moths, Colony Collapse Disorder, Nosema, and other diseases,” explained Peterson-Roest, whose 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Detroit is dedicated to the overall health of honeybee colonies and educating people on the colonies’ importance to the environment.
“I believe that honeybees are one of the most fascinating and industrial creatures on our planet,” Peterson-Roest stated. “Unfortunately bee populations are declining, so it’s imperative that we learn about their importance and help with their conservation as they are critical to our environment and the food industry.”
Peterson-Roest urges anyone who’s interested in beekeeping to “do their homework.” He further suggested mentoring with an experienced beekeeper for a considerable time in order to gain insight into beekeeping.
Step 2: Suit Up
After you’ve done your homework and made the commitment to your bees, it’s time to suit up.
“I am big on safety because I feel it’s an important part of education,” said Peterson-Roest. “Many beekeepers don’t wear protective clothing and gear, but I always encourage it. You need to respect you are disturbing the bees’ work and home.”
You’ll need a few key pieces of protective beekeeping apparel:
Bee Suit
The beekeeper’s suit is one of the important pieces of apparel needed for safe bee handling. The main purpose is to protect the beekeeper from stings if the bees get agitated.
The suit, generally sold as a single bodysuit, includes a long-sleeved body covering that’s meant to have a baggy fit to prevent bees from stinging through the suit. The wrists and ankle areas should have tight, secure cuffs to prevent bees from entering the suit through any gaps.
Peterson-Roest suggests wearing comfortable clothes underneath, refraining from any perfumes or artificial scents on the body.
Veil and Hat
The next piece of apparel is the veil and hat. These items protect your head and face from bee stings by zipping onto your bee suit, eliminating any entrance into your suit.
The veil is traditionally made from mesh to give protection from the bees while still allowing you to see well enough to complete your task.
Leather Gloves
Leather gloves are especially crucial for inspecting the hive and extracting honey.
Since your hands will be in direct contact with bees, you’ll want to purchase some sturdy leather gloves. Just like the bee suit, you’ll want the gloves to be slightly baggy to prevent bees from stinging you through the material.
You’ll typically want your gloves to extend and cuff around your elbow.
The leather, while protecting your skin, will also provide a secure grip on the tools you’ll use during bee handling.
Boots
The last part of your beekeeping apparel is the footwear. You’ll want to make sure that anything that falls below the cuff at your ankles is covered, so you’ll want a pair of boots that are ankle height or higher. You’ll also want to ensure that the material is strong and impenetrable, like rubber or leather.
Step 3: Know Your Hive
Man-made hives are enclosed or sheltered structures where the honeybees store their nectar, honey, pollen and brood (eggs, larvae and pupae).
There are four basic components to a beehive, including the bottom board, the supers, the frames and the covers. Each of the four hive components have different options to choose from, but a common configuration consists of deep supers for the brood chambers and the medium or shallow supers for honey.
Each part plays an important role in the construction of the hive, as different parts have specific purposes.
Outer Cover
The outer cover fits over the inner cover with sides that hang down over the top super. This piece, preferably made of wood and typically weather-resistant, is designed to keep the beehive sealed.
Inner Cover
This inner cover fits on top of the uppermost super, with an entrance hole to the outside located in the middle of the structure. The purpose of the inner cover is to control the comings and goings of bees into and out of the beehive.
Honey Supers
The honey super is a box that holds the honey super frames where the bees will store their honey. It’s typical to use a medium- or shallow-size super for honey, as opposed to deep supers, because honey is heavy, making deep supers hard to lift when full.
The honey super frames fit inside the super and typically fit eight to 10 medium frames per box. Bees will then build wax onto the frames to fill with honey.
Queen Excluder
The queen excluder is a flat rack designed to prevent the queen bee from laying eggs inside the honey super. The holes are large enough to allow worker bees to squeeze through, but small enough to keep out the queen.
Deep Supers
Much like the honey super, the deep super frames fit inside the supers and typically fit eight to 10 frames per box. The bees will build their wax onto the frames. Along with honey, the deep supers typically contain brood – or eggs, larvae and pupae. This is where the queen bee traditionally lays her eggs.
Bottom Board
The bottom board can be solid or screened. The screened bottom board aids in hive ventilation and pest management and resides at the bottom of the hive.
Hive Upkeep: Commitment and Cost
There are a few key concepts to understand about bee handling beyond learning about the various parts of the hive. For example, consider the time commitment of caring for a beehive at home.
Peterson-Roest suggested that, while the time commitment varies based on whether you’re a fully hands-on beekeeper or a more minimally intrusive one, he would encourage a beginner beekeeper to plan for a weekly to biweekly inspection of the hive.
“This can vary,” adds Peterson-Roest. “There are times that you want to leave a hive undisturbed for a long period of time, and there are other times you will want to do more frequent checks.”
This, he suggested, depends on the age and overall health of the hive. If you start to notice a lack of honey or brood, you may want to examine the health of the queen. If the queen isn’t laying eggs, then the hive won’t grow. Additionally, without worker bees, honey won’t be made in the hive.
As far as a suitable environment for your bees, it’s all about location, location, location.
“It’s encouraged to locate hives in a mostly to completely sunny location,” Peterson-Roest recommended. “Plants around the hive are not required, but are beneficial. Honeybees fly within a 2-mile radius of the hive to seek out all their needs.”
As far as cost of operation, Peterson-Roest says it varies greatly depending on the quality, material and preconstruction of the products, with an average cost for one hive, including equipment, ranging from $500 to $2,000.
Step 4: Tools for the Task
Now that you’ve learned the basics of the beehive, along with the time and cost commitment, it’s time to go over the tools of the trade. The tools below are part of the basic bee handling process, mostly concerning the hive.
Hive Tool
The hive tool, a flat metal tool, helps beekeepers pry up and remove beehive frames that are stuck together by propolis, a sticky substance made from tree resin that often glues together the frames.
Smoker
The smoker is a must-have tool for bee handling, because the smoke produced from this piece of equipment is known to calm down bees during a hive inspection or honey extraction.
Along with the smoker, you’ll need matches and kindling (leaves, twigs, paper, bark, dry grass, etc.) as well as water to make the kindling smoke.
Frame Grip
The metal frame grip is used to help with handling beehive frames during inspections and honey harvesting. The grip fits the frames and makes it easier to lift them out of the hive for a better look.
Bee Brush
The soft-bristled bee brush is used to gently remove bees from frames, honey supers or any area where bees might be in the way. It can come in handy during hive inspections and honey extractions.
Step 5: Get the Honey, Honey!
According to Peterson-Roest, bees produce honey as food storage for the hive during the winter. However, they typically produce two to three times more honey than they need, so what isn’t necessary for storage becomes a harvesting opportunity for beekeepers.
There are a few tools you’ll need for honey extraction and to maintain the bees during the process:
Honey extractor
Decapping tools (fork, knife)
Filters and containers
Honey jars and lids
Smoker
Hive tool
You’ll want to light the smoker and use it to calm the bees during the harvest. Using the hive tool, you’ll lift the hive lid and blow smoke into the hive.
Pull the honey super frames out of the super and inspect the honeycombs. Make sure to check that the wax cells are capped, as those are the ones with honey inside. Any uncapped cells with nectar are not harvested. You’ll also want to make sure to distinguish honey from brood, nectar and pollen.
The light cells are pure honey; the dark ones are pollen. The capped brood typically is a tan color and located toward the center of the hive.
After you’ve located the supers with honey, it’s time to extract! Take the frames with capped honey, mount the frame above a container, and use a decapping tool to unseal the cells, removing the wax on top of the honey cells so that the honey can freely flow.
During this stage, Peterson-Roest suggested, “Go slow, stay calm and enjoy being part of their amazing world!”
Place the uncapped frames in the extractor and close the lid. Start the extractor off slowly and then speed it up. Typically within 10 to 15 minutes, all the honey will be out of the honeycomb and inside the extractor.
Pour the honey from the extractor into a container, using a filter to catch the wax and impurities as you pour. You need to let the honey sit for at least 12 hours to let any air bubbles settle.
After 12 hours, fill sealable containers with your harvested honey and enjoy!
Bee Prepared
While beekeeping can be a fun and enjoyable activity, it’s important to understand that you’re dealing with living organisms who not only react out of instinct but are also a crucial part of our world’s environment and ecosystems.
Peterson-Roest suggests joining a beekeeping club or working with a mentor for a considerable time before deciding to start a beehive at home.
If you’re interested in starting your own hive at home, here are a few items we mentioned above that will get you started:

Proscenic Suzuka Robot Vacuum Bangsar Works Wonders
We've figured the Proscenic Suzuka is the robot that we'd advise to most people who desire an automated helper to maintain the surfaces neat after operating over 30 cleaning cycles over 8 weeks with four of the top software cleaners.
The Proscenic Suzuka is the smart money pick for most people who would like a robot vacuum. It truly is continually efficient in almost any home while different bots have a tendency to perform great in some scenarios but flunk in others. We discovered that the Proscenic Suzuka is prone to complete its cleanup cycles alone without needing to watch for a to come to the relief and twisted or getting trapped. Its navigation system's nature leads it into restricted places that other spiders will not get near, so that it tends to gather dog hair, more crumbs, and also other dust total. Weighed against its rivals, it's quieter, it's easier and cheaper to keep up and repair, and it's really less expensive at the start. For some people, our runnerup is a better pick every would be bot-vacuum owner must consider the Proscenic Suzuka.
Tumblr media
Software vacuums are typical designed to manage while humans are out from the property, but we think the Proscenic Suzuka may be the many pleasant robot to become around if you are home while your robot is cleaning. We tested its regular operating quantity at about 59 decibels, which is about loud as a conversation in workplace or a cafe. The inoffensive whirring and seemingly absurd cleansing habits of the Suzuka virtually make it feel just like a dog. Ry Crist at CNET puts it nicely: "subtle, playful variations of individuality can really get a considerable ways - something which Proscenic seems to have acquired inside the Suzuka after several generations of development." The Innobot i70 is louder in contrast, managing at 65 dB using its appliance brush or 68 dB using the rubber-flap blade brush. Decibels are measured on the logarithmic size, meaning that the Innobot might be almost doubly loud since the Suzuka. The Innobot also offers greater spikes in its frequency-response, which tend to be grating to your ears. It is particularly noisy around 125 hertz, like an HVAC unit's whoosh.
A freewheeling navigation system also assists the Proscenic Suzuka cover more surface than its competitors, which provides it a much better chance at buying up more dust. If it doesn't perceive enough room to maneuver easily involving the couch legs the Innobot may indeed avoid that region totally. Thus if you don't're prepared to do something like fit the chairs on the desk, the Innobot will pick none of that debris up, and the Suzuka can pick up at least a few of it.
a cleaning rate that is quicker and a lengthier battery life also give the Proscenic Suzuka a competitive advantage in lots of residences. It runs for 80 to 90 units per routine, while the Innobot i70 also goes at about 50 % the pace of the Suzuka and pushes out about 60minutes whilst itis converting or cleaning the ends of the place. (It goes about as rapidly whilst the Suzuka in straightaways.) With regards to the size of the room you are washing, the Suzuka can make even or two three goes over the majority of the floor, while the Innobot i70 is designed to produce only 1 go.
An extended run-time additional rate, and extra travels aren't necessarily strengths. If your robot can perform the exact same occupation in less time, fantastic. But centered on our experience, reading user reviews, and exam results from outlets like CNET, Consumer Reports, and Reviewed.com, we think that in many real world adjustments, the Suzukais pace and endurance allow it to grab more debris as opposed to Innobot i70 can.
The trick is the fact that the Proscenic Suzuka is more adept at avoiding a maze of furniture legs, "bot traps" such as a criminal Flash cable, the fringe on a carpet, or a high tolerance. We believe's as it relies more on hint-based sensors than different robots do, which provides it a far more detailed perception of its environments and therefore a sharper escape route. Also, Proscenic's been creating robot cleaners longer than everyone else, therefore the business's application technicians experienced more hours to finetune the formulas that let the robots avoid from possible barriers. The Proscenic Suzuka is made a great navigator in homes with warm, floorplans that are crowded by that. The Innobot i70, in contrast, challenges more when it drives over a cable, bumps right into a hazard that its mapping method couldn't view, or winds up somewhere with no leave that is apparent. It may also occasionally get stuck on large thresholds.
The Proscenic Suzuka makes changing cracked pieces simple. Because itis straightforward inexpensive, and honestly enjoyable to take action, I've replaced just about all the pieces, I 've had Suzuka," Sal Cangeloso told us. While one fresh brush for the Innobot i70 costs RM200, an entire new group of brushes and filters currently costs only around RM100. Other parts have more pricey - a first- about RM400 is presently cost by party replacement battery , like. Whilst with just about any cleaner, into maintaining the Proscenic Suzuka operating effectively, you will have to put some money, but based on the costs of alternative elements and what we've find out about its battery, these prices must be less than with different software cleaners.
Lastly, the Proscenic Suzuka gets the best consumer ratings of any robot machine at any price: Currently it's a standard report of 4.5 stars (out of five) across 2,641 reviews on Amazon. For provided that we have been keeping track, it has also been the very best-marketing robot cleaner.
Inside our screening knowledge, nevertheless, and judging in the a huge selection of user reviews we have read, the Proscenic Suzuka does not get caught or otherwise stop trying throughout a cleanup pattern as often as competing designs from different producers or Innobot. Examine it in this manner: If you schedule your bot to scrub if you are at-work and it gets stuck beneath the sofa 10 minutes in to the cleanup period, it'll sit there all-day awaiting you to return rescue it, along with your surfaces it's still filthy when you get home. Beats the goal of having no, a computerized cleaner?
The Proscenic Suzuka features a more flexible, persistent, and resilient navigation process including Ecovacs and the Innobot, than its opponents. As it nimble, the Proscenic Suzuka can work properly in most forms of controls - on wood floors or knit carpet, addressing hundreds of feet or in one single room, in a crowded floor plan or an open concept. It might look type of aimless since it drives headlong into surfaces, furniture, and also other fixtures relatively at random. And who might forget DJ Suzuka?
Tumblr media
All of the optimistic reading user reviews appear to notice that the Proscenic Suzuka is actually a maintenance solution, something that allows you to put off individual-powered cleanings for some additional nights or months (when you can remain it) and shaves sometime off these sessions while maintaining the surfaces tidier in the meantime. Pet owners find for keeping fur off the floor, it particularly ideal. Some entrepreneurs experienced their Proscenic Suzuka for quite a while, and it's still working well. I love the Suzuka as Amazon reviewer D K Maine applies it, "Overall. So we can have one action to take when it concerns cleaning up the house." it's fun to view, good to help out around the house to scrub for all of US and actually saves people occasion
not dealbreakers although weaknesses
The Proscenic Suzuka does not actually work on incredibly dark or nonreflective black brown surfaces. Black or dark floors which are just a little sleek ought to be ok. Based on Proscenic, this issue has to do with the nature of the rack devices, which avoid the bot from hurtling a flight of stairs along. One workaround is to record over the sensors with whitepaper or something different semireflective and little. We have not tried this secret ourselves, and the potential downside is that the Suzuka are able to tumble these aforementioned stairs down.
Because its navigation process relies so much on touch (as opposed to optics) to feel out a space, the Proscenic Suzuka bumps into furniture and walls many occasions per washing period. Reviewed.com notes that it strikes harder than different spiders, at about 2.3 lbs of force, which has the potential to affect loose items from lighting platforms (but probably will not). A handful of user reviewers have complained that it left markings, occasionally also scores, on the furniture. We have not recognized smudges or scores on any one of baseboards or our own seats, and many evaluations don't mention it as a problem. One workaround that is easy will be to stay a little strip of foam plastic.
Notice also that without getting caught although the Proscenic Suzuka typically completes an entire cleansing period, it does n't be always made by the unit back . In the last 20 or thirty minutes of the program, if the battery begins to perform minimal, the Proscenic Suzuka begins to find the pier, which includes an infrared beacon. If the bot views the signal in the dock, it parks itself to the receiving connections and drives over. However if the Suzuka can not discover the dock, it merely keeps washing until the battery is wholly out-of juice and then stops in-place. That next scenario is more prone to happen in residences with several little rooms rather than large suites that are fewer or in bigger properties.
However, if you have traditional or other precious furniture that you are no way prepared to risk harmful, this is not best bot for you. Any bot may come across your material but our runner-up update and selections don't accomplish that as often, so when they do, it's with less power.
Long term test notes
Since then, I've applied it less often (listen, I evaluate plenty of vacuums and have to let my floor get yourself a little dirty to try them), however it nevertheless struck the ground once every couple of weeks. I would estimate it's completed about 100 cleaning rounds overall, and it's held up properly. Although it certainly wants changing again shortly, to date, I've changed the filter just once. But the part wash remains in condition that is fine, as well as the battery nevertheless appears to hold the full or near - full charge - it could nevertheless clear for 80 units at any given time.
Tumblr media
Decreasing change towards the Proscenic Suzuka overtime is the fact that its body appears a bit banged up. Now it has a lot more low scrapes, and I discovered this after just a couple weeks of service and scuffs. Nevertheless, I haven't seen any impression scars or smudges on my furniture the bot undoubtedly caused. I don't actually care if my IKEA stuff gets just a little scuffed up, and so I'm not paying extremely close focus, or does it bother me that the robot itself seems like it's been occupied to become honest.
Total, this can be certainly the best budget automatic vacuum actually. It's much cheaper when compared with Ecovacs and Innobot i70, which the the top of brand versions budget range from RM2500 -3500.
AutoVac Bot is currently doing an introductory advertising in Malaysia. The Suzuka is now on a unique present at only RM1250 which makes it a grab.

Raving About Proscenic Robot Terengganu
Tumblr media
We've concluded that the Proscenic Suzuka is the bot that we'd suggest to the majority of individuals who want an automatic associate to maintain the surfaces clean after operating more than 30 washing cycles over two months with four of the very best software vacuums.
The Proscenic Suzuka could be the smart money pick for many people who desire a robot vacuum cleaner. It is constantly helpful in almost any property although other bots often work great in certain scenarios but are unsuccessful in others. We discovered that the Proscenic Suzuka is more prone to finish its cleanup rounds on its own without tangled or getting stuck and needing to await a human to come quickly to the saving. Its navigation system's character leads it into restricted areas that different bots won't go near, so it has a tendency to accumulate other dust, pet hair, and also more crumbs total. Compared with its rivals, itis quieter, itis easier to keep up and repair, and it's less costly up front. For some people, our runner-up is a greater pick every would-be bot-vacuum manager should look at the Proscenic Suzuka first.
Software cleaners are typical designed to work while humans are from the home, but we assume the Proscenic Suzuka will be the many pleasant bot to become around if you are home while your bot is washing. We scored its normal running amount at about 59 decibels, that will be about as loud as being a conversation in a cafe or office. The inoffensive whirring and apparently nonsensical cleansing habits of the Suzuka virtually make it feel just like a dog. Ry Crist at CNET places it effectively: "subtle, lively details of temperament can definitely go quite a distance - something which Proscenic seems to have learned while in the Suzuka after several years of development." The Innobot i70 is louder in contrast, managing at 65 dB having its combination brush or 68 dB with the rubber-flap edge wash. Decibels are calculated over a logarithmic scale, which means that the Innobot may be almost doubly loud as the Suzuka. The Innobot also has greater spikes in its frequency-response, which are usually grating to your ears. It truly is specifically loud around 125 hertz, just like the whoosh of an HVAC product.
A navigation system also helps more ground is covered by the Proscenic Suzuka than its competitors, which gives it an improved chance at picking up more trash. Reviewed.com notes in a review of the Proscenic Suzuka that by "really ramming itself at tight spots,E the bot is "able to grab dirt where additional cleaners merely timid away." We've found that it's much more likely as opposed to Innobot i70 to push into tightly clustered categories of tables and seats, like the place under a dining room table. If it generally does not see enough room to go freely between your chair feet the Innobot could prevent that region permanently. Thus until youare willing to take action like fit the chairs through to the stand, the Innobot and the Suzuka will pick up none of the debris and atleast some of it, respectively.
A lengthier battery life plus a cleanup velocity that is faster likewise provide the Proscenic Suzuka a competitive edge in several homes. It extends for 80 to 90 minutes per cycle, whereas 60 minutes are squeezed out about by the Innobot i70 as well as moves at about half the rate of the Suzuka whilst itis switching or washing the ends of a room. (It goes about as quickly as the Suzuka in straightaways.) Depending on the size of the space you're cleaning, the Suzuka can make two or even three travels over most of the ground, whilst the Innobot i70 is designed to make only 1 go.
A lengthier runtime, added speed, and additional moves are not necessarily strengths. If your robot can perform the same career in time that is less, wonderful. But depending on our knowledge, user reviews, and check results from stores like CNET, Consumer Reports, and Reviewed.com, we believe generally in most real world settings, the Suzukais velocity and endurance let it pick up more debris as opposed to Innobot i70 can.
The secret is that the Proscenic Suzuka is good at avoiding even a large threshold, a network of furniture feet, the perimeter on a carpet, or "bot traps" such as a rogue Flash cable. We think thatis as it relies more on feel-based devices than different bots do, therefore a sharper escape path and gives it an even more comprehensive feeling of its surroundings. Likewise, Proscenic's been making robot vacuums longer than anybody else, so the firm's application engineers have had additional time to fine-tune the formulas that allow the robots escape from traps that are potential. Which makes the Proscenic Suzuka a fantastic navigator in properties with comfortable, floor plans that are packed. The Innobot i70, in contrast, challenges more when it pushes into a threat over a cable, bumps that its mapping technique ultimately ends up anywhere with no apparent exit, or could not see. It can also sometimes get jammed on high thresholds.
Tumblr media
The Proscenic Suzuka makes replacing components that are cracked easy. I 've had Suzuka, I've replaced just about all the areas, because it's inexpensive, easy, and frankly exciting to do so," Sal Cangeloso informed us. While one new wash for that Innobot i70 costs RM200, a complete new group of brushes currently costs only around RM100. Other areas have more expensive - an initial- party replacement battery presently costs about RM400 . In order with almost any cleaner, into preserving the Proscenic Suzuka operating nicely you will have to place some money, but on the basis of the rates of replacement parts and what we've read about its battery, those costs should really be lower than with different software vacuums.
Eventually, the Proscenic Suzuka has got the finest consumer evaluations of any software machine at any price: Currently it's a general report of 4.5 stars (out of five) across 2,641 opinions on Amazon. For as long as we have been keeping track, it has also been the very best-selling robot machine.
Inside our testing expertise, knowing in the numerous user reviews, and nevertheless we have read, the Proscenic Suzuka quit within a cleanup routine normally as competing styles from Innobot or different manufacturers or otherwise does not get stuck. Have a look at it by doing this: If you schedule your bot to wash as long as you're at the office and it gets trapped under the couch 10 minutes in to the cleansing routine, it will stay there all day looking forward to you to come back save it, along with your surfaces will still be filthy when you get home. Failures the objective of having a computerized cleaner, no?
The Proscenic Suzuka features a more adaptive, consistent, and tough navigation program than its opponents, like Ecovacs and the Innobot. As it nimble, the Proscenic Suzuka can work well on wood floors or knit carpet, covering a huge selection of feet or in a single room - in a crowded floorplan or an open concept, in most types of adjustments. Since it pushes headlong into surfaces, furniture it may appear form of pointless, and also other fixtures apparently randomly. And who might forget DJ Suzuka?
All of the beneficial user reviews appear to recognize that the Proscenic Suzuka is really a maintenance solution, something which lets you defer individual-powered cleanings for some additional times or days (if you're able to remain it) and shaves a while off those periods while retaining the floors tidier for the time being. Owners find it particularly great for keeping fur off a floor. Some owners have experienced their Proscenic Suzuka for several years, and it's really still operating well. I really like the Suzuka as Amazon reviewer N E Maine puts it, "Overall. So we can have one action to take when it comes to clearing up the house." it is enjoyable to view, wonderful to help out throughout the house to wash for all of US and really saves people moment
Flaws although not dealbreakers
The Proscenic Suzuka does not really work on really dark or nonreflective black brown floors. Black or black surfaces which are a little sleek ought to be fine. According Proscenic, this restriction needs to do with the character of the corner detectors, which avoid the robot from sailing along a journey of stairs to. One workaround would be to record on the sensors with white-paper or something different small. We've not tried this technique ourselves, and also the probable disadvantage is that these aforementioned steps can be then tumbled down by the Suzuka.
Nevertheless, if you have other furniture that is important or classic that you are definitely not ready to risk destructive, this is simply not best robot for you. Any robot can come across your stuff but our runner-up upgrade and selections do not do so normally, so when they do, it really is with less force.
Because its navigation technique depends so much on feel (in place of optics) to experience out a room, the Proscenic Suzuka lumps into furniture and walls many instances per washing cycle. Reviewed.com notes that it hits harder than different robots, at about 2.3 lbs of pressure, which includes the potential to knock loose objects from lighting platforms (but will most likely not). A small number of user writers have complained that it left marks, sometimes also scores, on the furniture. We have not observed smudges or scratches on any of baseboards or our own chairs, and it is n't mentioned by most opinions as being a problem. One easy workaround is to keep a bit strip of foam plastic onto the bumper.
Tumblr media
Note also that without getting trapped, although the Proscenic Suzuka almost always completes an entire cleansing period, the unit does not often make it back . In the last 20 or half an hour of a procedure, once the battery begins to perform minimal, the Proscenic Suzuka starts to find the dock, which has an infrared beacon. When the robot sees the signal in the pier, it drives over and parks itself about the receiving connections. But it only keeps before the battery is wholly out-of juice cleanup and after that stops set up if the Suzuka cannot find the dock. That situation that is second is more prone to occur in houses with many tiny rooms in place of fewer areas that are big or in bigger residences.
Longterm test records
Ever since then, I Have applied it less generally (listen, I review a lot of vacuums and also have to enable my floor obtain a little filthy to test them), however it nevertheless struck a floor once every couple weeks. I might estimate that it's completed about 100 washing rounds full, and it has held-up nicely. Though it certainly requires replacing again shortly, so far, I've changed the filter only once. But the side wash is still in okay appearance, and also the battery nonetheless seems to store a complete or near - charge that is full - it can still clean for 80 units atatime.
AutoVac Bot happens to be doing an initial advertising in Terengganu Malaysia. The Suzuka has become over a particular offer at only RM1250 which makes it a steal.
The obvious change towards the Proscenic Suzuka with time is that its body appears a little banged-up. I discovered this after just a couple of weeks of support, now it's much more shallow scratches and scuffs. However, I'venot noticed streaks or any influence marks on my furniture the bot absolutely triggered. To become fair, Idon't really care if my IKEA material gets up a bit scuffed, so I'm not spending very close focus, nor does it bother me that the bot itself looks like it has been busy.
Overall, this is absolutely the best budget automatic vacuum previously. Cheaper in comparison to Ecovacs and Innobot i70, which the the top of range types cost range -3500.

Coayu BL800 Negeri Sembilan Jawdropping Rebate
We've concluded that the Coayu BL800 will be the bot that we'd suggest to the majority of individuals who need an automated assistant to retain the floors neat after working more than 30 cleansing cycles over 8 weeks with four of the top software vacuums.
The Coayu BL800 will be the smartmoney pick for many people who want a robot vacuum cleaner. It truly is constantly effective in nearly every home while other bots have a tendency to perform great in some circumstances but flunk in others. We discovered that the Coayu BL800 is more prone to conclude its cleaning cycles by itself without being forced to wait for a to come quickly to the rescue and tangled or getting trapped. The type of its navigation system leads it into restricted places that other bots will not go near, therefore it has a tendency to collect more crumbs, pet hair, and other debris general. Weighed against its opponents, it's quieter, repair and it's cheaper and easier to keep up, and it's less costly at the start. For a few people, our runnerup will be a pick that is better , but every would-be bot-vacuum manager must go through the Coayu BL800.
Tumblr media
The Coayu BL800 features a more flexible, persistent, and strong navigation program than its competitors, such as the Innobot. Because it nimble, the Coayu BL800 can work nicely in every kinds of adjustments - on wood surfaces or knit rug, addressing numerous feet or in a single bedroom, in a packed floorplan or an open-concept. It could look form of pointless because it drives headlong into walls, furniture, and other features relatively at random. And who can overlook DJ Coayu?
The Coayu BL800 makes replacing broken elements easy. I 've had Coayu, I've exchanged just about all the parts, as itis straightforward cheap, and frankly exciting to take action,Ó Sal Cangeloso told us. While one fresh brush for that Innobot i70 costs RM200, an entire new group of brushes and filters currently costs only around RM100. Other parts get more costly - a primary- party replacement battery presently costs about RM400 , for instance. Whilst with almost any machine, into maintaining the Coayu BL800 running effectively you should have to put some cash, but based on the costs of alternative parts and what we have read about its battery, these costs should really be lower-than with different robot cleaners.
Ultimately, the Coayu BL800 has got the finest user evaluations of any robot cleaner at any cost: Currently it has a general ranking of 4.5 stars (out of five) across 2,641 reviews on Amazon. For so long as we have been keeping course, it's already been the best-selling robot cleaner on Amazon.
A freewheeling nav program also helps the Coayu BL800 cover more ground at picking up more debris than its opponents, which gives a much better chance to it. If it generally does not see enough room to move freely between your chair feet the Innobot may indeed avoid that area entirely. So if you don't're willing to do something like fit the chairs on the stand, the Innobot will pick up none of that dust, as well as the Coayu can pick atleast a number of it up.
A lengthier battery life as well as a washing rate that is faster also provide a competitive edge in several homes to the Coayu BL800. It operates for 80 to 90 minutes per cycle, while the Innobot i70 engages out about 60minutes as well as goes at about 50 % the Coayu's rate whilst it washing or 's transforming the sides of the bedroom. (It moves about as fast because the Coayu in straightaways.) With respect to the size of the area you're cleaning, the Coayu will make even or two three moves over most of the floor, while the Innobot i70 is designed to produce just one pass.
A longer run-time, added speed, and extra moves are not necessarily strengths. If your robot can do precisely the same career in time that is less, good. But centered on our knowledge, user reviews, and examination results from sites like CNET, Consumer Reports, and Reviewed.com, we genuinely believe that in most real world configurations, the Coayu's velocity and determination let it get more debris than the Innobot i70 could.
Tumblr media
Software cleaners are designed to operate while humans are from the household, but we think the Coayu BL800 will be the many nice bot to become around while your bot is cleaning if you happen to be home. We scored its typical operating volume at about 59 decibels, which will be about as loud as a dialogue in office or a restaurant. The Coayuis inoffensive whirring and seemingly absurd cleansing patterns nearly make it feel like a pet. Ry Crist at CNET places it well: Òsubtle, playful variations of personality can definitely go a long way - something which Coayu appears to have mastered while in the Coayu after several years of development.Ó The Innobot i70 is higher in comparison, working at 65 dB having its arrangement brush or 68 dB using the rubber-flap edge comb. Decibels are scored on the logarithmic size, meaning the Innobot may be almost twice as loud whilst the Coayu. The Innobot also offers larger spikes in its frequency-response, which are usually grating for your ears. It really is particularly noisy around 125 hertz, just like the whoosh of an HVAC unit.
In our screening expertise, judging from your countless user reviews, and though we have read, the Coayu BL800 quit during a washing routine as frequently as competing models from Innobot or other manufacturers or otherwise does not get trapped. Take a look at it in this way: If you plan your bot to wash while you're at work and it gets stuck underneath the couch 10 units into the cleaning period, it will sit there all day long waiting for you to return rescue it, as well as your surfaces will still be filthy when you get home. Beats the goal of having an automatic solution, no?
The key is the fact that the Coayu BL800 is proficient at avoiding even a tall threshold, a maze of furniture feet, the perimeter over a carpet, or Òbot trapsÓ such as a rogue USB cable. We think thatis since it depends more on touch-based sensors than different bots do, which provides it a more detailed impression of its immediate environments and therefore a sharper escape route. Additionally, CoayuÕs been producing software vacuums longer than anyone else, so the company's software engineers have had additional time to fine tune the formulas that allow the spiders avoid from barriers that are possible. That makes the Coayu BL800 an excellent navigator in residences with warm, floor plans that are packed. The Innobot i70, in contrast, struggles more when it drives into a threat bumps, over a cable that its mapping program could not see, or ultimately ends up anywhere without exit that is clear. Additionally it may occasionally get stuck on high thresholds.
The majority of the constructive user reviews seem to notice that the Coayu BL800 is just a maintenance cleaner, a thing that lets you defer individual-operated cleanings for some extra days or months (when you can stay it) and shaves some-time off those periods while retaining the floors tidier for the time being. Pet owners find for preserving hair off the ground it especially great. Some entrepreneurs experienced their Coayu BL800 for quite some time, and it's really still running effectively. Overall, I really like the Coayu as it is put by Amazon reviewer D K Maine. It's enjoyable to look at, good to aid out at home to clean for people and genuinely saves people time so we could have one thing that is less to do when it involves cleaning up the house.Ó
Weaknesses although not dealbreakers
The Coayu BL800 doesn't actually work on nonreflective black or extremely darkish surfaces. Dark or dark surfaces which are only a little polished must be ok. In accordance with Coayu, this issue has to do using the character from hurtling down a journey of stairs of the shelf detectors, which prevent the bot. One workaround would be to tape within another thing semireflective and modest or the devices with white-paper. We have not attempted this key ourselves, and the potential downside is the fact that these aforementioned stairs can be then tumbled down by the Coayu.
Nevertheless, if you've classic or other priceless furniture that you're definitely not ready to risk damaging, this is not greatest bot for you personally. Any robot can come across your material but our runner-up and update picks do not do this normally, so when they are doing, it really is with less force.
Note too that although the Coayu BL800 almost always completes a whole cleanup period without getting trapped, the unit does not always make it back again to the charger. Within the 20 or half an hour of a session, if the battery begins to run low, the Coayu BL800 begins to consider the pier, which has an infrared beacon. It drives over and parks itself about the charging contacts if the bot considers the signal in the dock. But it just keeps cleanup until the battery is wholly out of liquid and stops in position if the Coayu can't get the dock. That second circumstance is more prone to occur in properties with several small rooms as opposed to large suites that are less or in bigger residences.
Because its navigation process relies so much on feel (instead of optics) to experience out a room, the Coayu BL800 lumps into furniture and walls lots of times per cleaning routine. Reviewed.com notes that it hits harder than other bots, at about 2.3 pounds of force, that has the potential to affect wobbly items off of light tables (but will most likely not). A number of individual writers have reported that it remaining scars, occasionally actually scratches, on their furniture. We have not noticed scratches or smudges on some of our own chairs or baseboards, & most reviews don't mention it as being a problem. One workaround that is easy would be to keep just a little strip of foam plastic onto the bumper.
Long term test notes
Ever since then, I've applied it less frequently (listen, I evaluate a lot of cleaners and also have to permit my ground get yourself a little dirty to try them), nevertheless it still struck the ground once every couple weeks. I'd estimate that it's done about 100 cleaning rounds total, and it's held-up nicely. Although it really needs changing again soon, to date, I've replaced the filter just once. However the area wash remains in ok condition, and also the battery however appears to carry a near or full - full charge - it can still clear for 80 minutes atatime.
Tumblr media
General, that is certainly the very best budget robotic vacuum cleaner actually. It really is much cheaper in comparison with even, or Innobot i70 and Ecovacs the IMAXX H88 Pro, that the top of the line versions budget range -3500.
The obvious change towards the Coayu BL800 overtime is that its body seems somewhat banged up. Now it has even more shallow scratches, and I discovered this after just a couple of months of support and scuffs. However, I'venot noticed streaks or any impression marks on my furniture that the bot definitely triggered. To be fair, I-donot actually care if my IKEA material gets somewhat scuffed up, and so I'm not paying very close focus, nor does it bother me the robot itself appears like this has been busy.
AutoVac Bot is currently doing a preliminary marketing in Malaysia. The Coayu has become on the specific present at only RM1950 rendering it a grab.

Incredible Proscenic IOI Mall
After working more than 30 washing cycles over two months with four of the top software vacuums, we've concluded that the Proscenic Suzuka will be the bot that we'd suggest to many people who desire an automated helper to keep the floors neat.
The Proscenic Suzuka is the smart-money pick for most of US who want a robot vacuum cleaner. It is consistently powerful in nearly every home although other robots are inclined to perform excellent in some cases but fall short in others. We found that the Proscenic Suzuka is more likely to end its cleaning rounds on its own without needing to watch for a to come quickly to the saving and getting stuck or twisted. Its navigation system's character brings it into limited places that different bots wont go near, so that it will obtain pet hair, more particles, along with other dust total. In contrast to its competitors, itis quieter, itis cheaper and more easy to maintain and repair, and it's less expensive at the start. For a few people, our runner up is a pick that is greater , but every would-be bot-vacuum operator should go through the Proscenic Suzuka.
Software cleaners are typical built to run while people are out from the residence, but we think the Proscenic Suzuka could be the many satisfying robot to become around while your bot is cleansing if you're property. We tested its normal running amount as being a conversation in a cafe or workplace at about 59 decibels, which will be about loud. The Suzukais inoffensive whirring and relatively nonsensical washing styles virtually make it feel just like a pet. Ry Crist at CNET sets it nicely: "subtle, playful variations of individuality can definitely move quite a distance - something that Proscenic seems to have mastered in the Suzuka after several years of development." The Innobot i70 is higher in comparison, operating at 65 dB using its combination brush or 68 dB with the rubber-flap knife comb. Decibels are measured on a logarithmic level, meaning the Innobot can be almost doubly loud as the Suzuka. The Innobot also offers greater spikes in its frequency-response, which tend to be grating for your ears. It really is particularly loud around 125 hertz, just like the whoosh of an HVAC system.
A nav system that is freewheeling also helps the Proscenic Suzuka address more terrain than its opponents, gives it a much better opportunity at picking up more dirt. The Innobot might just prevent that location entirely if it generally does not see space that is enough to maneuver freely involving the chair legs. So if you don'tare prepared to take action like fit the seats through to the stand, the Innobot will pick up none of the dirt, and also the Suzuka may pick up at least some of it.
A lengthier battery life and a washing pace that is quicker also provide the Proscenic Suzuka a competitive side in many homes. It works for 80 to 90 minutes per cycle, while the Innobot i70 also goes at about half the Suzuka's velocity and pushes out about 60minutes while itis transforming or washing the edges of the space. (It moves about as rapidly whilst the Suzuka in straightaways.) Depending while the Innobot i70 was created to create only one move on the size of the space you're cleaning, the Suzuka will make two or even three goes over the majority of the ground.

An extended run-time, added speed, and extra moves are not necessarily benefits. If a robot may do the same occupation in time that is less, wonderful. But according to our knowledge, user reviews, and check results from stores like CNET, Consumer Reports, and Reviewed.com, we believe that in many real world adjustments, the Suzuka's velocity and determination let it pick up more trash as opposed to Innobot i70 could.
The secret is that the Proscenic Suzuka is more proficient at avoiding "bot traps" like a criminal USB cable, a maze of furniture feet, the fringe over a rug, or even a high tolerance. We think that's since it depends more on contact-based detectors than other robots do, therefore a better escape route and gives an even more detailed feeling of its immediate environments to it. Also, Proscenic's been creating robot cleaners longer than everyone else, so the software designers of the company's have had more time to fine tune the formulas that let the bots avoid from possible traps. That produces the Proscenic Suzuka a fantastic navigator in houses with warm, crowded floor plans. The Innobot i70, in contrast, struggles more when it pushes into a threat bumps, over a wire that its mapping system could not view, or winds up somewhere without any leave that is clear. Additionally it may sometimes get jammed on tall thresholds.
The Proscenic Suzuka makes replacing elements that are damaged straightforward. Since itis straightforward cheap, and seriously enjoyable to do so, I've changed just about all the areas, I 've had Suzuka,E Sal Cangeloso informed us. While one fresh wash for the Innobot i70 costs RM200 a complete new set of filters and brushes presently costs only around RM100. Other areas get more expensive - a primary- party replacement battery currently costs about RM400 , for example. Whilst with almost any machine, you'll have to put some funds into retaining the Proscenic Suzuka operating effectively, but based on replacement parts' charges and what we have find out about its battery, these fees ought to be lower than with other robot cleaners.
Eventually, the Proscenic Suzuka gets the best consumer reviews of any software vacuum at any value: Currently it has an overall score of 4.5 stars (out of five) across 2,641 reviews on Amazon. For as long as we have been keeping track, it has been the best-marketing software vacuum.
Inside our assessment expertise, knowing from your numerous reading user reviews, and however we have read, the Proscenic Suzuka doesn't get caught or else stop trying within a washing cycle as frequently as competing types from other manufacturers or Innobot. Examine it in this manner: If you plan your bot to wash if you are at the office and it gets jammed beneath the sofa 10 units in to the washing routine, it'll stay there all day looking forward to you to return rescue it, as well as your surfaces will still be dirty when you get home. of having no, an automatic cleaner, beats the objective?
The Proscenic Suzuka includes a more flexible, persistent, and tough navigation program such as the Innobot and Ecovacs, than its opponents. Because it nimble, the Proscenic Suzuka could work nicely in all forms of adjustments - on timber floors or knit carpet, covering countless feet or in one single bedroom, in an open concept or a crowded floor plan. It may look sort of aimless because it drives headlong into surfaces, furniture, and other fixtures apparently randomly. As Rich Brown, senior editor at CNET set it to us, the Suzuka is "like a party". And who might overlook DJ Suzuka?

A lot of the good reading user reviews appear to notice that the Proscenic Suzuka is really a preservation cleaner, something that enables you to defer individual-operated cleanings for a few extra times or weeks (if you can stay it) and shaves sometime off those sessions while maintaining the surfaces tidier meanwhile. Pet-owners find for maintaining hair off the floor it especially great. Some homeowners have experienced their Proscenic Suzuka for several years, and it is still operating properly. I enjoy the Suzuka as Amazon consumer D K Maine places "Overall, it. So we can have one action to take when it concerns cleaning the house." it's fun to watch, excellent to help out around the house to scrub for us and actually saves us time
not dealbreakers although flaws
The Proscenic Suzuka doesn't actually work with nonreflective black or incredibly darkish surfaces. Dark or dark surfaces that are only a little shiny should be fine. In accordance with Proscenic, this limit has to do with all the dynamics of the rack devices, which avoid the bot from hurtling a trip of steps along. One workaround is to recording on something different little or the detectors with whitepaper. We have not attempted this strategy ourselves, and the potential downside is the fact that the Suzuka can then tumbledown these aforementioned stairs.
Since its navigation program depends so much on hint (rather than optics) to feel out an area, the Proscenic Suzuka bumps into furniture and surfaces dozens of occasions per cleaning cycle. Reviewed.com notes that it strikes harder than other spiders, at about 2.3 lbs of push, that has the potential to hit shaky things away from lighting tables (but will most likely not). A handful of consumer reviewers have complained that it remaining marks, occasionally even scores, on their furniture. We've not observed streaks or scratches on any of our personal chairs or baseboards, and it is n't mentioned by most critiques being a challenge. One simple workaround is to stay a bit reel of foam rubber onto the bumper.
Note also that without getting stuck although the Proscenic Suzuka almost always finishes a complete cleansing period, the system does not usually make it back . In thirty minutes or the last 20 of a program, if the battery starts to run reduced, the Proscenic Suzuka starts to look for the dock, which has an infrared beacon. If the bot recognizes the signal in the pier, it drives over and parks itself about the receiving contacts. But if the Suzuka can't find the dock, it simply keeps washing before the battery is completely out-of juice then stops in-place. That second circumstance is more likely to occur in residences with many little rooms in place of less big areas or in larger properties.
Nevertheless, if you've other expensive furniture or antique that you are no way willing to risk harmful, this isn't best robot for you. Any bot will come across your stuff sometimes, but our runner-up improve and picks don't accomplish that as frequently, so when they are doing, it is with less force.
Long-term test notes
Ever since then, I've applied it less generally (listen, I review lots of cleaners and have to enable my floor get a little dirty to check them), nevertheless it nevertheless struck a floor once every couple weeks. I would estimate that it's completed about 100 cleaning cycles whole, and it has held up well. Though it surely requires changing again soon, so far, I Have changed the filter just once. However the area comb is still in ok design, and the battery nevertheless seems to carry the full or near - charge that is full - it can still clean for 80 units at a time.

The obvious change for the Proscenic Suzuka over-time is the fact that its body seems somewhat banged up. Now it's even more shallow scrapes, and I noticed this after just a few weeks of support and scuffs. However, I havenot seen smudges or any influence markings on my furniture that the robot definitely caused. To be fair, I-donot actually care if my IKEA stuff gets somewhat scuffed up, therefore I'm not paying extremely close interest, or does it bother me the robot itself seems like it has been active.
AutoVac Bot is carrying out a preliminary advertising in Malaysia. The Suzuka has become on a special offer at only RM1250 that makes it a steal.
Overall, this really is positively the very best budget automatic vacuum actually. It's much cheaper in comparison with Ecovacs and Innobot i70, that your the surface of the brand styles budget range from RM2500 -3500.
