That awkward as hell feeling when you like a shipcest blogger but they seem to be pro irl incest? I don't want to be rude, but at the same time, "Full marriage equality"??????? Really now?.. u seriously have to let go of the idea that "man" and "woman" are totally separate. u have to be comfortable w the idea that identities are way more complex than a binary. if u wanna break the binary u HAVE to accept that there are identities thatll blur and coexist in ways that are only truly contradictory if ur still adhering to the gender binary u claim to reject. sometimes women are gay men. sometimes men are lesbians. these are not impossible and theyre not contradictory, theyre just experiences that exist because man and woman are just 2 genders out of countless others, not opposites

More on Annie and Mary...

Like the Twins...these two women are mirrors.

Both of their clothing colors reflect their respective twin lover.

Haint Blue for Annie, which feels reflective of both the indigo planted in the south and hoodoo, as a color painted on the ceiling of quite a few southern porches for protection.

....Shades of pink for Mary are colors that represent the contrast between the 'pure white,' acceptable womanhood she presents and the true self still coming through as a lighter diluted shade (clever-clever) of Stack's red.

They both perfectly match the energy of their twin, posturing and mouthy for Mary and Stack, more laidback in grown settled comfort for Annie and Smoke.

I also hope y'all recognize that *both* twins avoided their loves because of something substantial in the way of their own misguided care.

Stack insisted that Mary pass, which is an act of love in his eyes, so she could have a privileged life.

He didn't push her away because he didn't love her.

He pushed her away because he *did*.

In Smoke's case, it was because of the shared trauma with Annie of losing their infant son.

Again. I keep seeing takes that act like Stack didn't love Mary, but he absolutely pushed her to pass *because* he loved her.

She just didn't want to pass because of her stubborn love for him, and called his bluff.

It's clear these vamps don't have glamour powers, or they would have gotten invited in easier.

And don't forget that Stack and Mary's liaison with what one tiktoker called a symbolic pact spell (and I agree!), in that bit with the 🤤...At least the *human* aspects, were consensual.

Smoke and Annie aren't necessarily meant to be seen as the better pairing, IMO...just a contrast.

The fact that Smoke left Annie, while she performed most of the spiritual care and emotional labor alone...even after their shared loss (though Smoke did respect the charms enough to wear and take care of it until he no longer needed it).

Still, they are both apt reflections of the men they both love. And like the brothers, they are opposite sides of the coin. Where Annie calmly imparts spiritual warding clues, Mary is full of blunt verbal bite.

Where Annie is resourceful and wise, Mary is misguided in her attempt to use her white presentation to be protective of her "kin".

I'm gonna say something else you may not like but it is rarer to see Black men with attractive white women in love contexts, in mainstream media than the other way around, because white men tend to steer the gaze in that space...Which is why if there is interracial love portrayed it's usually a WOC, and most often she is ambiguous in appearance. I'll never forget the weird racist incel posts about Finn and Rey in The Force Awakens (whew!).

Mind you, I've already explained the proper gaze within the text of the movie in that time and space Mississippi in 1932, for Mary is a white-presenting Black woman because that one drop rule was very much in effect and violently enforced if white people found out they were "tricked". ...And thankfully, (and with much earned respect, people rarely correct themselves on social media) Cindy Noir also took back her post insisting that Stack wasn't in love with that "white woman".

I am old enough to remember both my white passing elders and black listings for the rare white actress who played a Black man's love interest in film (as in they did not work after even "playing" that back in the day).

So, though the entire movie is gonna catch strays from racists, I guarantee some very salty nazi incels are big mad about H. Steinfeld and also coming for her..

As for Annie, I'd like to hope to continue to see her be part of a reset for standards of beauty in love and love scenes. Wunmi is just so objectively stunning in whatever context... I am WILLING her to star in a traditional romcom or pure romance with a hot lead. It's just so much baggage entangled in the gaze on both leading women, I wanted to get this down.

It's funny how in fanfics, people write Clark giving parenting advices to Bruce, when in the comics (see: World's Finest: Batman and Superman) and other media (see: Young Justice), Bruce is the one giving parenting advices to Clark, and he is always very serious about it.

After all, Bruce has been a father figure and mentor for longer and more kids than Clark. Of course he doesn't need to call Clark for help to learn how to take care of his kids, Clark is the one calling Bruce for help when he has an issue and Ma Kent is busy.

When it comes to romance in KnH, some jinmao shippers are like "you're reading this all wrong, maomao is an unreliable narrator" uh, yes, she is, but she never lies about her discomfort or how trapped she feels when Jinshi makes some unwanted advances. like, it's not because Maomao lies to herself that she does this all the time, even the least attentive reader will notice when this happens. a lot of you act like Maomao is a tsundere.

She really takes a LOOOONG time to like Jinshi back, and it's a gradual process, so much so that they only get together after [SPOILER ALERT] five fucking years after they met.

I'm a jinmao shipper, but unlike a lot of them, I CRAVE the slow burn, the delay, the maturation of the relationship. im not the desperate kind that thinks maomao started liking Jinshi right after he bought her from The Verdigris House.

So I repeat, just respect Maomao's temporary lack of reciprocity, nothing more than that, TEMPORARY.

I think an severely underrated perspective of the Traveler comes from Peach the ghost and I think she’s the best for being something along the lines of an atheist /lighthearted

Like you’re so right girl, we don’t know much about the Traveler and probably never will, so we probably shouldn’t make our speculations into divine scripture.

I enjoy how her criticism points towards the Traveler not being much of a god people would want, much less an all powerful god who is so wise and knows so much about what it’s like to be a sentient human/ghost/eliksni/uluran/etc., it can predict the future and create a perfect predetermined fate for everyone.

She’s also right that if you cling onto the idea that the Traveler is an omniscient being that can craft purpose, without ever considering other perspectives on it, you’d have to come to terms with the fact that it would be an intentionally massive jerk for its behavior (and you’ll probably want to cut away at the imperfections of your people and combine their will into a single being who will hunt it down)

And above all, she’s right that we really shouldn’t hold what we think the Traveler would want for us above what we want for ourselves and we shouldn’t hold narratives we crafted of it to fit our feelings towards it as a singular, indisputable truth. We live for ourselves first and foremost, not for the Traveler’s approval. It’s probably just as lost as we are.

Also in regards to some recent lore about her watching Osiris with strand:

I love, love, LOVE when Destiny drops what seems to be a throwaway line in lore that came out years ago, only to revisit it later and turn it into something meaningful for the future. I start jumping up and down when I’m able to spot connections to old lore, I love it!

Guys make sure you think about how awesome Peach is at least once a day and remember, be a gardener when it comes to other perspectives on the nature of existentialism/spirituality/religion/divinity! Okay, I've officially watched Arcane. Might be at risk of becoming a LoL fan. But I gotta say, people really misundersood the sex scene. It is one of the most thematically conclusive scenes in season 2. Cait finally lets go of her Jinx obsession, allowing herself peace while also helping the woman she loves. She wanted Vi to be someone who would agree with her, who would reinforce her ideals and actions. But in this moment, she shows that she accepts her. Her past, her flaws, and whatever the future holds. She chooses her over revenge. And in Cait accepting Vi, we have the opposite. Vi begged her not to change at the beginning of the season and yet she did. She forced herself to focus on revenge until it swallowed her whole, and Ambessa molded that into a fine weapon. But Vi changed her for the better. To someone who could find peace and make the changes they both wanted. And when Vi kisses her, it's a show that she accepts her too. She accepts the changes. And she's embracing the one thing she wanted this whole time- a family. Instead of chasing something she'll never get back, she accepts that things have changed and embraces her future. In a way, she's accepting her own life.

Also, the scene literally occurs in a jail cell. Yknow, the setting where they met to begin with. It represents new beginnings for them both. A moment in which they embrace each other and all the flaws and struggles that come with. They have plagued each others' minds all season and now they literally start over, allowing each other to focus on the battles ahead of them.

I'm Major. I'm a writer for the LU fandom, and the creator of the LOZ Exodus Links meet AU and have been on tumblr since early 2023.

I've been seeing a lot going around about how the space feels a little quieter. Now then, it once did back in 2020 - 2022, and I feel like it should be addressed. Because yes, while we all did have more time in 2020 due to reasons... Fandom has been on the decline for a while now.

The thing with fandom is that we are the creators of our space. Without people to create, without people to push those creations when they are made, we dont have fandom. And the most important person in fandom is you! Now I know about the discord's and communities have made it harder on the non-community spaces to gain traction because people reblog into communities and the creators dont see that!

"But major? I'm just me, what can I do?"

That's exactly it, you are you! You can do whatever the hell you want in this space that we call fandom. (As long as its not being rude. I'll fight you on that one.)

Write that story, draw that picture, stick three pencils together and laugh at it while thinking of silly little stories and headcannons for your blorbos. Do whatever the hell you want to create.

"But, major, my art is bad, or I can't write, or I can't draw." Or more recently, "AI is taking art, why should I bother?" Ive seen it, I've felt it. I get it.

First off, stop putting yourself down. You deserve to treat your art like its something special because you created it!

A living, breathing person. Like you. Created it. From nothing but a blank page. And that is amazing.

I know it's scary. But the beauty of creation is that we have to start somewhere. And we grow and build these creations together. The only way to improve at a skill is to keep working on it. Artists of all forms take years to hone their craft. I've been writing in fandom spaces for over 8 years. I still feel like I've got so much to learn.

And if you dont want to create, that's fine, give those who do spend time out of their days and weeks to make something for you to enjoy some love.

Second, Creators already in the space are People like you and me.

Living, breathing people. They are not content farms. This isn't infinitely scrolling short-form content.

Authors and artists are usually 1 person teams working from a desk in their rooms, or on their phones on the bus - There are so many places people create from. I've created stories on my lunch breaks at work.

We are not machines, we are people with lives. And People need to be acknowledged. And as much as creators say that they dont do it for the comments or the kudos or likes. As people in these spaces, it's awesome to have these conversations with people who saw what they made and had to say something.

And in this day and age, people have forgotten this. People have forgotten that the creators in these spaces are also people who want to enjoy the content too.

"How can I make something?"

I asked myself that years ago when I first joined my main fandom. I wanted to create something in honour of the fandom I love so much.

I found a piece of art that resonated with me so much that I literally wrote the entire accompanying story in like a 4-hour daze. It's not the best. But it's mine. And it conveys the feeling that the artwork gave me. I sat on it for weeks because I was scared out of my mind that the artist wouldn't like it.

What im trying to get at is, You have the ability to take your unique perspective and turn it into something awesome. And, please. dont put yourself down. You have the ability to make something beautiful. Because it is unique to you.

So, I hope you'll consider creating something. Or reblogging something so that if you dont want to, someone who does, finds the inspiration to do so.

Cause if theres one thing ive learned, fandom is a community. And a community is a group of people who feel at home.

Okay, let's say Q is drunk. He and Bond went out for after-work drinks after a week of truly Horrendous Workplace Nonsense (including but not limited to: multiple colleagues dying, miscellaneous bureaucratic bullshit, politicians being annoying, and Mallory being Himself).

Q is extra stressed, so he drinks a wee bit more than is his wont, and he gets kinda sloppy-drunk. And Bond has to help him home (while Q is very uncooperative and grumpy about being helped).

At some point, Bond loses patience with Q resisting his help and nearly falling down the stairs as a result. He just slings Q over his shoulder, fireman style, for the trip upstairs to Q's front door.

And this annoys Q (he feels that his drunken dignity has been Impugned) so he retaliates by just...biting Bond's bicep. Hard.

Bond immediately jolts like he's been hit by lightening.

This reaction penetrates even Q's extremely sloshed cognition, and he's mildly repentant, thinking he must've accidentally bitten an old injury or something and actually hurt Bond.

Meanwhile, Bond is the whole 'i think i have couvid' meme. He's so horny about this.

But he can't do anything except put Q's entire messy self to bed, make sure there's a bucket by the nightstand in case of Drunken Vomiting, and then...retreat to sit in Q's living room and stare at the wall while Horny Gripping the sides of the armchair.
