Hello! If it's okay to request/ask, A transformers animated request. TFA Autobots x Human Reader, can be Romantic/Platonic
Reader, A very normal human, who keeps moving out, every time they get to a city/town/place, because of different species of aliens keep appearing (Yautjas, xenomorphs, anodites, friendly ones, hostiles, neutrals, etc.) and they either befriended it and/or deal with it
They also have albums or pieces of stuff that's given or dedicated to or from their alien friends and they've been visited by their alien friend(s) and sometimes with Alien's friends/family
Now, this is an interesting request. Thank you for the request dear anon, here is the transformers animated x human reader that you requested
Note: this can be read as romantic or platonic, but I wrote this with platonic in mind
TFA Autobots with a Human Reader that's friends with a lot of aliens
Finally, after moving out of your last place, you can finally get a break from aliens. Don't get you wrong, you liked your alien friends...but, sometimes, it's a bit exhausting meeting aliens every time you moved.
Thankfully you managed to get a long deserved break in Detroit. Sometimes, your alien friends visit, and you welcome then with open arms into your apartment.
You thought you weren't going to see another alien again...that is, until one day, you were out getting groceries and saw the alien outside...with alien robots... "Fuck." You muttered under your breath as one of the robots get you out of the way
Optimus Prime
Tumblr media
When you first told Optimus that you've befriended aliens before after you had gotten to know the Autobots, he was a bit inclined to believe you
That was, until you showed him your photo album filled with photos of you and your alien friends/family
To say he was shocked was an understatement
He was curious by the aliens you called your friends, and asked you questions about what species they were. He had only read about some of them back on Cybertron, but most were unfamiliar to him
Admittedly, he kinda wanted to see them up close.
He didn't anticipate that his wish would come true
Optimus stared at the creature infront of him - well, alien infront of him.
Optimus couldn’t believe the sight. You were talking with an alien— well, another alien — as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
He’d never admit it outloud but he felt himself jump slightly as you introduced him to your alien friend, trying to ignore the immense staring from it(them?)
Eventually, he gets used to your alien friend(s) as they visit more often. He even befriends some of them himself!
Of course, he’s still wary sometimes but he’s on friendly terms with them
Your alien friends are, in turn, also friendly with him, and don’t dislike him at all
Ratchet
Tumblr media
Ratchet didn’t believe at all when you first told him. He just thought you’d gotten crazy
To say his jaw dropped when you actually showed him evidence was a complete understatement
He didn’t think you had actually befriended some of the aliens, even making some of them family. He’s seen a lot through his life but this, this was the first time he’d ever seen it
He recognized some of the species you had befriended, he’s seen his fair share of aliens too during his time. Because of that, he’s bewildered yet again when you say you’ve befriended one of the dangerous ones.
Safe to say, you’ve earned his respect
When he first saw one of your alien friend’s visiting, he was alarmed at first
It was the middle of the night. The others had already slipped into recharge, and the only one awake was Ratchet. The gurmpy medic thought he was alone as he worked in the medbay, grumbling about how untidy it was after Bumblebee had messed it up.
Then, he heard a loud thud and an undescribeable sound. His electro magnets pop out of his forearms, incase of self defense
He walked out of the medbay, looking around until his optics landed on a shadowy figure. He prepared himself as the figure walked out the shadows. However, he quickly came to a realization when the figure - ahem, alien, fully became visible.
He let out a sigh. Your friends really needed to pick a better time to visit.
Your alien friends and family didn’t like him at first, due to him scolding them each time they visited in the middle of the night. But eventually, they grew to respect him when they realized he simply cared for you - in his own grumpy way
He also grew to respect your alien friends and alien family, as they genuinely cared for you
He isn’t friends with them, but he is on okay terms with them
Prowl
Tumblr media
Prowl, like Optimus, he was inclined to believe you when you first told him
He’s read about a few alien species, as Yoketron most likely taught or told him about some, and while a few you mentioned were friendly, the other most were not that friendly
You managed to convince him after you showed him your photo album
He asked you question after question, wanting to know more about the aliens you grew to think of as friends and family
He found himself wanting to talk to them. He only saw your bond with them through the photos you showed him, but he could tell you all were close
His wish came true after you introduced him to your alien friends
You watched as Prowl and your alien friend talked animatedly. Prowl was clearly curious behind that visor, and was asking your alien friend questions left and right.
Thankfully, your alien friend didn’t seeme to mind - actually they looked like they were enjoying answering the Autobot’s questions
You couldn’t help but smile as they continued to talk. It warmed your heart to see them getting along so smoothly.
Your alien friends and family like Prowl. He’s respectful with his questions, good mannered, and has a kind demeanor. He’s definitely their favorite
Prowl’s on very good term with them, as they sedate his curiosity by answering his questions
He’s friends with some of them and is on very great terms on them
Bulkhead and Bumblebee
Tumblr media
Bulkhead and Bumblebee were very fascinated when you told them you had alien friends and even alien family
They’ve never read about other aliens, let alone seen one themselves - so when you show them your photo album their optics light up like kids in candy shops
Bumblebee is pointing out things left and right and chatting your ear off, very eager to know more about these cool aliens
Bulkhead’s also pointing some things, but he’s more meek and shy as he asks you questions
When they actually meet them, they’re definitely looking at them with sparkles in their optics
You let out a sigh as you watch Bumblebee chat off one of your alien friends ear off, their annoyance evident.
Thankfully, Bulkhead wasn’t as bad as Bumblebee, as he was shyly asking questions - to which, your other alien friend happily answered.
You were just glad they hadn’t annoyed them. Though you can tell Bumblebee’s stepping on thin ice
Your older alien friends definitely take up the roles of the auncles. Teaching Bulkhead and Bumblebee all about their culture, fighting techniques, and teaching them other things that they were tuaght during their youth aswell
Most of them are on good terms with Bulkhead, as the gentle giant’s demeanor was often endearing to them
Bumblebee’s on thin ice but they endure him for you

Tumblr media
Thragg was holding Terra by the collar of her shirt as his eyes glanced at the ground, looking for the Anodite. His offspring were handing Eve and Mark, but they sent the child away with the anodite, believing she would get away. He knew that his arm had gone through the ginger's chest, as he had been aiming for her heart. Gwen had gotten separated from the child, who saw how bad shape her aunt was in. So she quickly flew, leading him in another direction so she could take time to recover. The child was squirming while clawing at the Viltrumite's hands, which were in vain. Tears were streaming down her face as she was trying to be brave, but her whole body was trembling.
The male grunted before bringing the child closer as he spoke in a monotone voice, "Where is the anodite? I know that was not enough to kill her kind." Growling before spitting in his face, her eyes narrowed as she spoke, "Go eat your own dick!" His eyes narrowed before headbunting the child, which caused her nose to break. Screaming out in pain, he did not stop there before pressing his free hand against her chest, breaking a rib. Coughing hurt as her whole body felt like it was in pain. Her tears continued to stream down her face as she remembered other times something like this had happened.
One time, when Gwen was babysitting Terra, they went on an adventure exploring ancient ruins on Earth, which turned out to still have magical properties. They would have been trapped there if the child had not been small enough to fit through a crawlspace to get the artifact before someone called Hex and Charmcaster could get to it. Another time, a creep was hitting on her auntie, so Terra went running up to her, coming between them as an excuse they needed to leave right away. The child had done her best to help out Gwen whenever she needed help, taking her side when she had been in a fight with Allen by threatening to punch him in the eyes again, since she had done it as a baby. Or when some awful alien named Sunny was looking for Gwen, she lied, covering up the fact where Gwen was.
However, this time was different. Her breathing was shallow as it hurt breathing, and the child gritted her teeth before spitting blood in Thragg's face. The seven-year-old growled even though she was in pain from a broken rib and fractured nose. "Go to hell." The older male alien just looked frustrated as it appeared the child would not give away the location of the injured Anodite. "Fine, have it your way, child." This time, the male twisted the child's leg until it was bent in the opposite direction. A blood-curdling scream left Terra's lips that filled the air.
Thragg knew if he slowly broke every single bone in the child's body, it would draw out the Anodite from its hiding place. "Your arms are next." Sweat was drenching Terra's outfit, as she was trembling from the pain, her head was spinning, and her eyes were seeing stars. Still, the child knew she had to be brave even though her eyes were puffy and blood was clouding her vision; she had endured more before, Mommy or Auntie Gwen would come rescue her.

Made the mistake of reading past posts by other people about the desire for a Gwen storyline where she just snaps while I already had five billion ideas in my head and now just the image of a 90% Gwen 10% Argit storyline, within OV and with some of my shit going, is drifting through my head....
Start off with Gwen and Kevin coming back to Bellwood during a school break- Kevin very openly thinks they should have gone somewhere else because the ongoing semester has been a bear for Gwen, but Ben misses her and she hasn't seen her parents in a while so Gwen insists
Three episode build-up
First episode focuses heavily on Gwen and just how things are at home, with a mother whose expectations are too high and who disapproves of what Gwen is down to her DNA, nonetheless her life choices, with a side helping of hero stuff.
Second episode goes back to a Ben focus, but Gwen and Kevin are still around, still helping out, and so get to be there when it's revealed that the villain of the week is a Max bastard, come around to start shit because fuck that old man specifically. The episode has a good amount of Gwen still feeling like she's second fiddle to her cousin, and ends with her noting how she supposes she should be grateful she at least wasn't just forgotten about like their new relative, but it's clear she doesn't actually feel better and that the reveal of Max's past 'escapades' has shaken her and her remaining faith in her grandfather
Third episode is just a complete beast of a 'stop the nasty villain' episode, everyone is getting their teeth kicked in on all sides, Gwen ends up going nearly full Anodite to end the fight. Kevin checks up on her while the Plumbers gather the villain up, and while Ben starts out doing the same he's pulled away when the cameras show up and people start talking about what a great job he did stopping the threat.
At which point Gwen- already stressed from school, and her mother, and the family drama, and the fight, and her preexisting shit- pulls a Kevin
Full Anodite mode, alternating between vanishing off- where she just works herself up further, caught up in her own head and the bullshit she's been dealing with- and showing up to just level shit. There has been too much on her plate for too long, and while she's been letting out bits and pieces before, now she's just letting it all out on who or whatever her brain is circling like a busted rc car. The bullshit with her mom? Level shit. The bullshit with her grandpa? Level shit.
Her strip of carnage is less expansive than Kevin's was, but there is no 'I'm a threat so I'm avoiding you/you should avoid me'. We already know that when she gets angry she's got no problem with hurting the people she loves, and this is kicked up to eleven here. The boys get their shit wrecked when they try to stop her, whether it's by talking her down or fighting her down.
To say tensions are high would be to understate things by a fair margin
Ben is shocked to be hit with the full extent of how everything from dealing with her mom to his fame have been affecting her, having his own mini crisis within the crisis. Especially once she does him real damage. These boys see the inside of a hospital at least once.
Kevin isn't shocked by shit but he is very unhappy with the situation and worried about her
Seeing that the power of love has failed, and the power of combat has failed, Max brings up the power of murder
This time around it's Ben who's upset at the idea of just giving up on this person he loves who has snapped.
Rook is sorrowful at the idea, but sees the reasoning in it, she is incredibly dangerous and they haven't been able to stop her
Kevin, meanwhile, to add to Ben's shame, immediately puts Max on the floor and makes it clear that he is not afraid to add one old man to his body count. There will be no killing his woman on his watch.
Alas, what can they do? Clearly an impossible problem, but they have to do something. They need an impossible solution.
Enter the Argit chunk of the situation.
I'm picturing, like the Ultimate Kevin arc, we get two episodes and then a two-parter finale
End of the first episode we get Max implying that she might be too much for the boys to handle, end of the second we get the 'we are not killing her' confrontation, beginning of the finale we get another failure to break her out of this spiral she's locked herself in
The boys get their asses handed to them again, Rook is still not sure they can stop her, Ben is desperate, and Kevin- Kevin bundles everyone in the car and heads for Argit's
The other two are not convinced, especially when Argit hears that they want help with Gwen and immediately shoots them down.
"Red hates me, is rampaging, one of the most powerful fuckers on this planet, and I can't quill pure energy." "Yeah, but she's unwarded."
At which point Argit begins refusing much more emphatically. It's not mentioned what that means or why it's relevant, but it is made clear that he is Very Against whatever the implication is, to the point that Ben offers to pay him for his services and he gets pissed at the mere suggestion.
In the end it takes Kevin begging and "You know I wouldn't ask if there was another option" to get him to reluctantly agree, making it clear he's only doing so for Kevin's sake
They find her about to level the Morningstar estate- which they all agree wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't the chance there were innocent staff and/or pets inside- at which point Argit steps forward, tells her to stop, and... she does.
Her response alongside the following events make it very clear that he's controlling her, as little as he can get away with but enough to keep her to from hurting anyone
We get our explanation when Gwen demands one- that Charmcaster killed her, Ben, and Kevin, that he warded Kevin after they were brought back, but because the other two weren't they're vulnerable to being controlled with magic. Demands to know since when can he use magic and why hasn't he before are brushed off with a 'this isn't my first time' and a subtle camera shift to Kevin
The end of the arc doesn't come in fighting, Argit makes sure of that, but in talking her down (much like he tried in the Rooters flashback with Kevin)
There's a lot of Gwen getting shit off her chest she hasn't really let herself deal with before this- from the betrayal that comes with all the secrets in her family to just how big an effect the shit with Charmcaster has had on her and beyond. There's a lot of validation (yes her grandfather is a piece of shit) alongside calling her out (just because shit's crap doesn't mean you get to take it out on everybody else) and offers of help dealing with shit
That last bit mostly comes from the boys, Ben's got apologies for days for not realizing that his spotlight was casting a shadow on her, Kevin's always out to support her and more than happy to help her get space away from her mom, Rook's all for helping her find a decent shrink because clearly she needs to be able to talk about this shit with somebody. Argit's got a whole list of places she can go off-world to get away from her family and responsibilities and take an actual fucking vacation, and offers to give her mom a piece of his mind if she wants.
Gwen gets to, to a degree, process and release her feelings in a healthy manner and it's enough to help bring her out of her spiral and back under control, there is much hugging and apologizing and a strong sense that things are going to improve moving forward
We end with Ben joking noting that clearly not getting warded was the smart idea, and Argit huffingly herding him and Gwen into the car, saying that they're going back to his place for a warding whether they want one or not

Ben 10 headcanons because nothing in this show is ever explained (this is ignoring the omniverse retcons)
1: Kevin has had at least three mentioned plumber badges, Magister Labrid’s that was later confiscated, the one he received on duty from Magister Prior Gilhil and the one that originally belonged to his father. Due to all the switching around of badges, it’s a little confusing to figure which one he uses. I like to think he uses his father’s, which I believe his mother would have kept, and requested it be repurposed as his.
2: The crew has stated not all alternate versions of Gwens are anodites, so I believe the “spark” Verdona talked so much about was unlocked by Gwen’s practice of magic that she started when she was 10.
3: Kevin, due to having a job and his own apartment, is most likely emancipated. His mother probably agreed because she’s just grateful to have her son back and nothing else.
(Warning sad and dark headcanon ahead!!)
4: Kevin’s hatred for his stepfather always seemed somewhat… unjustified to me. I had the idea that maybe Harvey, well…abused him, whether physically or emotionally, and that his mother never knew (sorry). This could further explain why he ran away and was under the belief he was kicked out and unwanted.
5: In the future Kevin and Gwen are married and Devlin is there, but, for some reason (probably complicated life stuff) Gwen is Devlin’s stepmom instead of his bio one. But he still calls her “mom” and he’s still her son. (Also Gwen and Kevin probably didn’t have any kids together out of fear of what would happen if an anodite were to try to carry an osmosian)
6: another future one: Ben’s love life is canonically a train wreck. So I picture he’s had two divorces, one with Julie and one with Kai. Kenny came from the second marriage.
7: Future Ben has a Dad Bod no I don’t take criticism.
8: Gwen started liking Kevin (even though when they first met again as teenagers he was literally running guns) because the stress and pressure of being Little Miss Perfect got to her and this was her way of breaking away from that. Call it an extreme teenage rebellion that resulted in a wholesome relationship.
9: At one point Mrs. Levin and Harvey got divorced (I personally wouldn’t stay married to the guy that ran my son out of the house)

Time Travel
Requested on Quotev
Pairing: Kevin x Tennyson!reader
Genre: Angst, Fluff
Characters: Kevin, Y/N, Ben, Gwen
Words: 2367
A/N: Y/N is Bens sister.
Description: When Y/N is kidnapped by a time traveller for revenge, its up to Kevin, Ben and Gwen to save her.
Being the sister of Ben Tennyson wasn’t the easiest thing in the world. You're always getting used as leverage or kidnapped by his enemies and sadly, you were becoming to get used to it. However, things became more complicated when you struck up a relationship with Kevin. Both of them would get into fights together about who would be the one to save you. These fights had become more and more frequent over the past few weeks and you had had enough.
“I’VE HAD IT! You both are acting like children! Fighting over who gets to save me! Has it ever occurred to you that you wouldn’t have to if you bothered to teach me self-defense, eh?” You stood up from the sofa and glared at the both of them before storming towards the front door.
“Where are you going?!” Both Kevin and Ben stood up and began to walk towards you. You glared at the both of them . “Somewhere where the both of you aren’t!” You slammed the door behind you and began walking towards your car. You had no idea where you were going to drive to but you needed to clear your head. Sliding into the drivers seat and turning the ignition, you placed your foot on the accelerator and gently eased onto the road.
Tumblr media
You slid into the parking lot of Mr. Smoothie and turned off the ignition. You rested your head against the steering wheel and let out an agitated scream. “Why can’t they just realise that both of them can work together?! They don’t always have to fight each other!” You stayed in your car for a few more minutes before getting out and walking towards the entrance of Mr. Smoothie.
A bright blue light engulfed the parking lot. Confused, you turned around and scoped out your surroundings whilst signalling your location on your plumber’s badge. Footsteps sounded behind you and you whizzed around, hands up in front of you for self-defense. A loud laugh rumbled throughout the air as a man, a little taller than you, walked out of the shadows.
“Really, Y/N? You think doing that is going to save you?” The man towered over you in an attempt of intimidation. You stared up at him, unfazed. “No, but I know that my brother, the wielder of the Omnitrix, his cousin, an anodite and my boyfriend, an osmosian, will travel to the ends of the earth to find me and kick your ass.”
The man let out a growl before grabbing your shirt in his fists and lifting you up to his eye level. “That osmosian is the reason I’m here. A long time ago, he took something….someone dear to me. I’m going to do the same to him.” A loud cackle invaded your ears as the blue light surrounded you once more, engulfing you and whisking you away.
Tumblr media
Ben and Kevin were still bickering with each other after you left. They were stood toe to toe with each other, both of their nostrils flaring with frustration. “She’s my sister, Kevin! Of course I’m going to want to save her!” “What about me?! I’m her boyfriend! She relies on me to keep her safe!” Ben opened his mouth to answer but was interrupted by his omnitrix flashing. He rolled his eyes and twisted his omnitrix, a green map showing up. “It’s Y/Ns coordinates. Why would she be sending us this?” Ben and Kevin both looked at each other with fear in their eyes. “Tennyson, get in the car now!”
Tumblr media
Kevin sped around the streets of Bellwood until he reached your coordinates. He got out of the car immediately and looked around, Ben following his lead. “Y/N!” In the distance, he seen you in the man’s clutches being engulfed into the blue light. Kevin ran as fast as he could, Ben following behind, but he was too late. You disappeared right before his eyes and he was too slow to save you.
He sunk to his knees and punched the concrete beneath him, over and over. “Kevin, stop!” He kept going, anger and frustration striving his punches. Ben pulled him up and slapped him across the face. “Snap out of it, Kevin! You’re not going to be able to help her if your hurt!” Kevin closed his eyes and nodded in understanding.
“Now, we need to figure out who that man was. He seemed to have some sort of travelling powers.” Kevin’s eyes widened in realisation as Ben kept talking about the plan to get you back. “Tennyson, shutup. I know who’s took her.” Ben tapped his foot against the floor as he waited for an explanation. “It was a long time ago, back before I met you guys. I was crazy with power. Somebody set a bounty on this guy so I went after him.”
Ben nodded, signalling Kevin to keep talking. “I went to his house and knocked on the door. As soon as that door opened, I absorbed silver and punched whoever was in front of me. I looked down and saw that I had killed his wife. She was dead instantly.” A small tear ran down his face as he remembered how horrible he used to be. “His name is Larry. He’s a tech genius and he’s been after me for years, but I’ve always been one step ahead of him. Larry built time travel tech so he could find me in any time, anywhere. He’s finally caught up with me.”
Kevin held his head down in shame as Ben walked towards him and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. “You’re not that guy anymore Kevin. You’ve changed. We will find a way to get Y/N back from him, I promise.” Kevin nodded his head in appreciation. “I think that the first port of call should be Gwen. She’s got that big spellbook so maybe There’s one about time travelling.” Ben agreed and they both walked back towards Kevins car.
Tumblr media
You groaned as you regained consciousness, a pounding headache attacking you. You tried to hold your head but found that your hands were tied tight to the arms of your chair, the same with your feet. Taking a deep breath to calm your quickening heartbeat, you looked around the room to try and find something that would help you get free.
You seen a large nail sticking out of a pillar across the room and smiled. You began to scrape your chair towards it, relief filling your body, when the door in front of you swung open causing you to scream. “Do you really think you’d be able to escape me, Y/N? We’re not even in the same year anymore. There isn’t anywhere that I wouldn’t find you.” Larry walked behind you and pulled the chair back to its original position.
“What do you mean we’re not in the same year?! How is that possible?!” Panic began to fill your body as his words sunk into you. Your chest began to heave as your breathing became heavy. Larry stepped in front of you, kneeling down to your height. “I’ve developed technology that helps me travel through time. I’ve been trying to catch up to Kevin for years but I’ve never been able to make him suffer, until now. You’re the most important thing in his life, Y/N, and I’m going to take you away from him, just like he did to me.”
Confusion washed over your features. “What do you mean? Who did he take from you?” Larry stood up and took a deep breath. “He came to my house looking for me, and found my wife. He killed her and left her body for me to find. I held her in my arms and vowed to get revenge on the person that murdered her; and that is exactly what I am going to do.”
“No! He’s not like that anymore! He’s changed! He’s a good man! Please don’t do this!” Tears began flowing down your cheeks as he came towards you with a tray of torture tools. A smirk washed over his face as he took a small knife from the tray and lunged towards you.
Tumblr media
Ben, Gwen and Kevin had gathered together all of the ingredients from the spell. “Surely with all this time travelling he’s been doing over the years, there’s got to be consequences. He can’t just travel through different years and not expect anything to happen. Time has got to catch up with him sometime, right?” Kevin and Gwen rolled their eyes as Ben rambled on.
“Hey, Gwen. Thank you for doing this. I know it’s going to take a lot out of you and I just want you to know how much I appreciate this. Y/Ns the most important person, and knowing that somebody has her because of me….it breaks me apart inside.” Gwen looked up at him and smiled. “You don’t need to thank me, Kevin. We all love Y/N and we’d do anything for her. We will get her back.”
Kevin leaned down and hugged Gwen. “Now, guys, how in the hell are we supposed to know what year she’s in? I don’t think there’s any sort of map that tells you something like that.” Gwen carried on mixing the ingredients together whilst looking up at Ben. “There isn’t a map, but there is a spell. A very easy one, actually. All I need is something of hers.”
Kevin reached into his pocket and held out your plumbers badge that had fell out of your hands. “Will this work?” Gwen nodded and took the badge, pouring the ingredients over it whilst chanting out the spell. Her eyes began to sparkle pink with her anodite power as the spell progressed. Ben and Kevin stood back against the wall as the room was overcome with power.
Tumblr media
In a matter of seconds, Gwen was gone and the room was empty apart from the two boys. “Alright, I think it worked. Now, where would Larry be keeping Y/N?” “His house. It’s the perfect place for him to get his revenge. Me going back to the scene of the crime to make me suffer, it’s got to be there.” Ben headed towards the door. “Then what are you waiting for? Let’s go.”
Both of the boys ran as fast as they could towards Larry’s house with Kevin leading the way. He rounded the last corner and stood in front of a stone house, dark and forgotten. Ben eventually caught up with Kevin and rested his hands on his knees, catching his breath. “Are you sure they’re in there? It looks abandoned.” A scream erupted from the house, which they both identified as yours. Kevin was the first to head towards the house, opening the door with one kick and running towards your screams. Ben followed quickly behind, his omnitrix ready for battle.
Your screams became louder as the boys headed deeper into the house. “Hold on, baby, I’m coming.” They stopped when they came to a wooden door underneath the staircase. Kevin and Ben looked at each other before shoulder barging the door open.
Tumblr media
Your eyes widened as the door was busted open. However, you let out a breath of relief when you seen Kevin and Ben standing in front of you. Kevin began to move forwards toward you but was stopped in his tracks by Larry holding a small blade to your throat. “Stop right there, Kevin. If you take one more step, well, I suppose you know what will happen next.”
You and Kevin both locked eyes and you could see the worry consuming him. You nodded slightly, signalling you were Ok. “I’m alright, Kevin. Don’t worry.” You winced as the blade was pressed harder against your throat. Kevin tensed up as he seen you in pain. “How does it feel Kevin? Knowing that the person you love is going to die, but there is nothing you can do about it.”Kevin took a step forward. “I wouldn’t know because that’s never going to happen.”
At that moment, Ben lunged at Larry as Kevin ran towards him. The knife was knocked out of Larry’s hands as he hit the floor, leaving him defenceless against the wrath of Kevin and Ben. Larry crawled back until he hit the wall. “Please, don’t hurt me. I don’t want to be in anymore pain. I just wanted you to know what I felt when you took away the woman I love.”
Kevin knelt down in front of Larry, a slight smile on his face. “I’m not going to hurt you, Larry. That’s not who I am anymore. But I am going to leave you with the fact that you could have caused me that pain and you failed.”
Kevin stood up and ran towards you withBen following close behind. He knelt down in front of you and untied your legs whilst Ben untied your arms. You fell into Kevin’s awaiting arms, a small groan of pain escaping your lips. “I’m so sorry this happened to you, Y/N.” You shook your head and gave a small smile. “You don’t have to apologise, Kev. You weren’t to know that he was going to take me.” Kevin brushed a few strands of hair away from your face and brushed his thumb across your cheek.
You could see that there was still worry and shame evident in his eyes, so you leaned up and placed a sweet and gentle kiss on his lips. “You’re not that guy anymore, Kevin. You’ve changed for the better and I am not going to blame you for anything that happened back then because it wasn’t the true you.”
Kevin gave you a beaming smile and kissed you, this time deeper and more passionate. “Erm, guys. Don’t you think we should get home before you start doing any of that?” Both you and Kevin laughed before he lifted you in his arms and carried you out of the door.
“I’m glad you guys were finally able to work together to save me.” Ben and Kevin both looked at each other with small smirks. “Yeah, don’t be expecting it every time, sis. One of us is always going to be more protective of you.”

Name: Cynthia “Thea” Ashley Levin
Nickname: Thea (prefers to go by this nickname than her real name), Cyn, Cynthie, Cee, Levin Jr, Mr.Blunt
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Birthday: 7th February
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Ethnicity/Specie: American - Human/Anodite/Osmosian
Personality: Intelligent, Bold, Smart-Mouthed, Impulsive, Instinctive, Arrogant, Temperamental, Stubborn, Focused, Helpful, Brave, Wild Streak, Protective, Blunt, Romantic
Hobbies: Calligraphy (Writing in this style has an extremely calming effect on Thea), Hip Hop Dance, Mechanics, Automobiles, Is it bad to say she likes math? (It’s logical, practical and makes sense, the addition of letters just made it more enjoyable), Car Shows, Martial Arts
Family:
Gwen Tennyson - (Mother/Despite Thea being very different to her mother, loud and impulsive, the two still get along well. They like to have intelligent discussions, and Thea often goes to her when asking questions about something, knowing her mother will give her honest and truthful answers. They also like to study magic together, and enjoy reading books in the same room.)
Kevin Levin - (Father/Very much a daddy girl, Thea takes after her father quite a bit, in personality and in many interests. Ever since she was little, she’s loved cars thanks to her father, and the two like working together in his garage and chatting. Kevin taught her to be  a tough one, and tries his hardest to make sure she never takes a path like he once did.)
Zed - (Pet - Anubian Baskurr/While Thea doesn’t mind Zed much, the two don’t interact much due to Thea not personally into dogs, more so cats. They have a civil relationship and Thea does help take care of Zed when asked, but the two have been known to comfort each other when something is wrong.)
Ben Tennyson- (First cousin once removed - “Uncle”/Thea and her uncle have a very fun relationship, and she often goes to him about issues she doesn’t want to discuss with her parents, knowing he is a good third opinion to listen to. She admires how brave and outgoing he is, and does look up to him as a hero, but also has her fun uncle.)
Julie Yamamoto- (First cousin once removed-In Law - “Aunt”/Julie’s soft and down to earth nature is something Thea appreciates, in a family full of daredevils. Her aunt has a way of comforting Thea in a gentle manner, without making it feel like she is pitying her. Though that being said, Thea finds her hidden feisty side fun to see whenever it comes out.)
Jay Tennyson- (Second cousin - Like Siblings/Ever since she first held her baby cousin, she has felt this drive of protection over him, and the two act like siblings all the time. They tease, bicker, have fun and share secrets here and there, and are very loyal to each other. Her protective attitude has been growing though, ever since finding out Jay has been bullied, and when Jay starts developing feelings for her rival, Vanessa Morningstar. Subconsciously, Thea struggles to see her baby cousin growing up and not needing her as much, which makes Thea feel a little worthless at times. That being said, the two love each other, and will forever remain loyal, no matter what.)
Tundra, Orion, Vale, Neva, North, Crystal, Alaska, Micha, Storm, Gray, Raine, Arlo, Zodiac and Lux - (Second cousins/There’s quite something to have a cluster of cousins like this, but Thea loves them nonetheless. She loves to visit them, and hanging out with them whenever they’re on earth. She has a different dynamic with each of them.)
Max Tennyson - (Great Grandfather/Thea has always found her Great Grandfather to be a cool and chill man, and a very wise person to go too when needing help with something. She likes listening to his Plumber stories, and the people he’s met throughout his life.)
Xylene - (Great Grandfather Figure/While Xylene is more of a great grandmother figure for Jay, that doesn’t mean Thea and Xylene don’t get along. Xylene’s bold personality is something Thea can admire, and the two like having talks about tech and crafting.)
Verdona - (Great Grandmother/Thea has a bit of an odd relationship with her great grandmother. On the one hand, she likes Verdona’s wild and fun personality, and the two like to get into some crazy chaos together. Though on the other hand, she knows Verdona is fond of her because she is an Anodite, and while she appreciates Verdona’s help with her magic, and understands that Anodites have a different lifestyle to humans, it’s sometimes hard to deal with Verdona when it comes to earth related parts of Thea’s life.)
Frank Tennyson- (Grandfather/Thea likes to tease her grandfather playfully very often, but she is still pretty respectful towards him, as he’s helped out her parents often when she was growing up. He’s also been known to get her thoughtful gifts to her to cheer her up, knowing the kind of things she likes.)
Natalie Tennyson- (Grandmother/Natalie’s personality was something Thea could actually appreciate here and there, as Natalie had ways of keeping Thea in line before doing something dumb while growing up, and helped the girl listen to her parents when she would fuss here and there. The two like to discuss things about Thea’s future, as Natalie is great at organizing and has good suggestions for universities in Thea’s future.)
Ken Tennyson- (Uncle/Thea loves her uncle, as his kind and understanding way of life has always helped her when she’s going through something. And, much like Julie, sometimes it’s just nice to have a down to earth member of the family.)
Jade Levin- (Grandmother/Ever since her son gave her a grandchild, Jade has loved and adored Thea since. She often helped Kevin and Gwen whenever Thea’s Osmosian powers sparked up, giving them tips that she learnt from when raising Kevin. And since Thea acts a lot like her father, Jade knows how to talk to her, and what things she likes and dislikes.)
Harvey Hackett - (Step-Grandfather/Despite Kevin’s unsure views of Harvey, he has allowed the man to be in Thea’s life, and the two do get along. Harvey was a little nervous at first, due to his past with Kevin, but he tries his best to support Thea, not wanting to make the same mistakes he made with Kevin, and this has built some kind of bridge between him and his stepson in important moments.)
Friends:
Feike - (Friend/Crush?/Due to Feike’s background, him and Jay often visit him when needing information in the criminal world, though her relationship with him is far more complicated than that. At first, he very much flirted with her pretty often, giving his player lifestyle, and she mostly just ignored it, used to those comments by now. But things slowly began to change after they developed more of a friendship over time, and they got to know each other better, especially after she decided to go on one date with him. She found that he’s a lot more caring than he lets on, and despite his criminal background, he has morals and lines he won’t cross. This has led to her having some kind of crush and romantic side relationship with him, which she never thought would happen due to the fact she said she’s never date a street boy...but he does treat her far better than any other guy she’s met and dated. But the two struggle with their feelings due to Thea’s personal issues, and Feike fearing he’ll have nothing if he leaves his criminal life behind for her.)
Malax - (Friend/Her and Malax have a very bro-like relationship, often teasing and chatting about their hobbies with one another, getting along fairly well. Malax is also one of the few that can hold Thea back when she’s angry or frustrated, and gives her a needed slap of reality when no one else can.)
Rook Rilla - (Friend/The two get along fairly well, though Rilla’s blunt and dry way of speaking has annoyed Thea from time to time, but she often gets away with that as Thea can appreciate it at times, and knows Rilla means well. That being said, Thea will always tease her when seeing Rilla daydreaming over someone.)
Etherea’Liss - (Friend/Thea was quite hesitant with Etherea at first, as her and Jay had an experience with Zs’Skayr a while ago before meeting her. But she came to feel sorry for Etherea and her situation, and admires her desire to make her people proud, and to show the outside world that her kind are not bad. There is a bit of a struggle between the two, due to Etherea’s shy personality not mixing well with Thea’s out there wording, but sometimes Thea can give her that needed push to try something.)
Azmuth - (Family Friend/She finds Azmuth to be pretty grumpy and doesn’t get him very often, but the two like to have intelligent conversations, and he has praised her on her academic work, even giving her a few pointers here and there.)
Neutrals:
Vanessa Morningstar - (Rival/ It’s a bittersweet thing with these two ladies. To outsiders, their relationships doesn’t make too much sense, as people can’t understand why they’re rivals, and why they often pick on each other. It’s never clear who started it, but whenever they’re in the same room you can feel tension. Vanessa often picks at Thea’s temper and impulsive nature, knowing Thea is running from her problems, while Thea picks at Vanessa’s pride, thinking Vanessa acts too stuck up and knows she’s covering up something. It doesn’t help when Vanessa and Jay start catching interest in each other, at first Vanessa doing so just to tease Thea, but now feeling something for Jay. Thea’s afraid Vanessa will break his heart and hurt him, or that she’ll have to deal with Vanessa for the rest of her life if they get properly serious. But she knows Vanessa makes Jay happy...and a part of her just doesn’t know how to handle her baby cousin growing up. And in many ways, perhaps she gets aggressive with Vanessa, because she’s one of the few people to have the guts to point out the flaws Thea is running from.)
Enemies:
Medusa - (Enemy/Thea hates this woman, mostly because of how she reflects Thea in many ways. Medusa took special interest with Thea when noting how similar they were, the girl reminding her of her past self. Because of this, Medusa has this idea that Thea should become like her, to push down people to never feel weak again, perhaps because of her subconscious hatred for who she used to be. Typically Thea ignores what most villains say about her, but Medusa has a way to get at her fears and emotions, and that’s hard for to handle.)
Eldrigma - (Enemy/Thea didn’t like Eldrigma right off the bat, and thought he was just some new villain lucantic with a dumb plan to take over the galaxy or whatever. But after hearing thoughts from others, and certain signs popping up, she’s starting to understand that there is something more to this man’s story that they don’t know. That doesn’t mean she’ll pity him, and will do whatever it takes to stop him from hurting others.)
Vesper - (Enemy/Thea has a very odd view of Vesper. On the one hand, that chick is terrifying and her need to drain mana from living things freaks Thea out, also being an Anodite full of mana that Vesper has threatened to drain from her. But on the other hand, Thea does feel upset for her, and how Vesper was casted out by the Anodites for being sick and broken. A part of Thea wants to help, but the other half was to keep her distance.)
Professor Alate - (Enemy/Hates the dude and thinks he’s plain creepy, there’s no secret there. It doesn’t help that he targets Jay so often, and has made it clear what he wants to do with the boy if he ever catches him. Alate is just someone who can easily creep her out and ruffle her emotions, but she just can’t do the same with him. He always has a counter and comeback for her, and she really doesn’t know how to handle him. But that doesn’t stop her from trying to keep him away from her friends and Jay.)
Vilgax - (Enemy/Due to hearing many stories about him, Thea was a little intimidated by the guy when he returned from the dead, working with Alate. But when it became clear Vilgax was struggling with how much time has past, and his worth in the eyes of today, Thea likes to crack jokes about him and will fight him. That doesn’t mean it's easy to tussle with the dude, but compared to Alate, she would prefer to fight Vilgax any day of the week.)
Sciros - (Enemy/The moment Thea saw Sciros, and how he interacted with Feike, she knew she didn’t like him. He creeps her out, and she knows there’s some kind of dangerous dynamic between him and Feike, where the man has a grip on him. And while she has tried to talk to Feike about it, he’s made it clear it’s not her place to discuss such matters with him, so for now she tries her best to be there for Feike. But that doesn’t mean Thea won’t give the man glares whenever she sees him around.)
Representing Song: Miracle - The Score
Skills: Spell Casting. Mana Manipulation. Hand-To-Hand Combat. Anodite Form. Energy/Power/Matter Absorption. Supernatural Strength/Stamina/Endurance. Mechanic/Technician. Tactician. Levitation. Mind/Mental-Powers. Mathematical.
Weakness/Flaws/Fears: Automatonophobia (Fear of ventriloquist dummies, animatronics, wax statues, essentially anything which falsely represents a being). She hates the idea of losing her sight, hearing and touch. Subconscious Athazagoraphobia (Fear of forgetting and fear of being forgotten. She’s not good with the idea of being useless and left behind, which ties into her overprotective and slight clingy nature, but right now she doesn’t realise this). Slight Philophobia (Fear of falling in love or not being able to maintain a relationship. Despite going on plenty of dates, they often go wrong and she has had her heart broken many times). Her impulsive and blunt moments can get her into trouble, often getting into arguments and fights that she doesn’t back down from. She sometimes struggles to control her temper and outbursts, and has said things that hurt people she cares about, often regretting what she said very quickly. Her overprotective nature can be a bit much at times, especially with someone like Jay, as she has subconscious fears that he’ll be hurt without her protection, and there’s even a subconscious desire to be wanted and needed through this. She’s not good at taking blame, and has a habit of pointing fingers.

Ok, first question about Luckyboy!AU, Rook has a girlfriend? As far as I know in cannon he doesn't even have a love interest? thought that might be my fault since it's been years since I've watched any Ben 10 series (really have to rewatch some eppisodes here :P) Who is she and what is she like? Has Rook ever taken her girlfriend in a date to the coffee shop? How much of a tease is Ben with Rook when he isn't on a date? And how much of a wingman is he when he is in one?
How is Ben's social life outside his Nekomata persona by the way? I imagine he still has some friends since he's a charismatic extrovert, but with how different everything is here compared to the prime timeline, I can't see who he might be friends with besides Julie.
Now, let's make some questions that aren't about Ben :D With the amount of invasions that Earth has had over the years is the general public privy of the existence of aliens as something more than just tourists that one almost never sees, or do they know but only aknowledge it when they see an alien in person? How is the general people view of aliens regardless?
Also, does Gwen 10 have good or bad public relations? Like, does Will Harangue berate her and turn the public against her, or is she lucky enough that he's focused on Nekomata and not her? How do the humans see her, as a hero, a child soldier, a menace, a necessary evil?
Also also, how do the Plumbers play in the whole PR thing? Do they manipulate everything so the humans have the view they think is the healthiest between humans and aliens? Do they only play damage control whenever alien activity is reported to the public? Are they known or are they still an underground organization? How does the public view them as, considering they're basically intergalactic police that aren't the most competent, specially considering that some countries have beef with their own police forces?
Now, to leave all of the political and heavy talk behind, how often does Ben play with Ship and Julie? Like, they're friends, obviously Ben gets petting privilegies and becomes a pet sitter whenever Julie has to go on a tournament and can't take care of them herself. PET SHENANNIGANS MUST ENSUE THERE, AND YOU CAN'T CONVINSE ME OTHERWISE XD
Also, I imagine a scenario where Kevin and Gwen enter the coffee shop unaware that the other is in there and Ben does everything in his power to force them to sit on the same table, reminding both of them that this is a true neutral zone and "Please don't break anything here and remember to play nice, if you manage to get through this without punching eachother I'll give you a discount on your next coffee", which is a very good offer if they think about it. Meanwhile Argit is waiting at the bar watching over the situation "Bet you 10 bucks they'll be shouting over eachother in 5 minutes" "Bet you it takes them 10 minutes"... It takes them 7 and a half minutes exactly and they can't decide who wins the bet. "There's no way they're getting out of this hating eachother any less" "As long as they don't break anything and don't bother the other clients, I count it as a win"
So Rook had an established relationship in Omniverse with Rayonna, she was introduced abit later in the series when Ben and Rook with to Revonnah. It was a very 2D relationship, just put there maybe cause of the whole shipping fiasco between Ben and Rook(?) don't take my word for it ;;
For the Lucky Boy! AU, they're together, but it's been years since Rooks been to Revonnah, crime never takes a break, neither does he. So his relationship with Rayonna is very flakey, they're on the verge of breaking up, buuut due to Revonnahgander traditions, they're together still. (pulling this out of my ass ;; )
Rook ends up mentioning he has a girlfriend at some point, it was just a casual thing, Ben won't bring up the topic because the way Rook talks about Rayonna makes him feel a little bit iffy towards the subject.
Outside of work and the Nekomata persona Ben's a little awkward in the social circumstances. At that point his social battery's almost completely clocked out. So unless he's dragged out by his friends, Julie, his old soccer mates - although it's happening a lot less now, since school finished a while ago and they're moving on with their own lives- (i refuse to call it football), Alan, if they both end up clocking out at the same time. OR, Rook. Sometimes Max if he's around will invite Ben for lunch or an afternoon snack run. (Mr smoothies, with a "healthy" dose of chillie fries. Best way to lure Ben out.)
Hell yeah, let's get down to the world building buisness, my favourite cup of tea.
Humans are very knowledgeable about alien existence, you'd have to be pretty ignorant to not believe in aliens. (I mean, lets face it, in the world we live in today, I bet, that if aliens did show themselves, some group would just say they're government actors, or russian/chinese spies. Comical, but sadly a realistic scenario...)
With the amount of invasions that have happened, and the daily attacks- normally done by humans with access to alien tech- Humans are quite fearful of them. Which has urged the plumbers to keep the aliens that live on earth down underTown.
It's not all humans of course, just most. Media influence has also pushed the feardar way up.
Will Harangue, surprisingly uplifts Gwen 10 to the eyes of the public, he's also much more focused on Nekomata. (bad news= views= good news). In Harangues personal opinion though, he'd prefer no aliens at all. So he does let his badmouthing of Gwen slip sometimes.
They do a lot of damage control, their original goal was to keep alien life hidden from the public until they(the people) were deemed ready, however, not so easy when an invasion happens nearly once a month. At least it's all limited to Bellwood. For now...
The plumbers are known to the public but aren't like your typical police force- you can't just call them. But they're always around on patrol. The police aren't exactly fond of them cause "They're terking our jerbs". But they have a joint thing going on, the police handle the human crimes, unless alien tech is involved, and the plumbers handle the alien crimes.
The public views them as an iffy subject, not exactly hailed as heroes, but more of a neutral, they're here to stay I guess, kinda thing. The focus is on Gwen mostly, as the poster child(adult) of the plumbers. (this is where I really wanna separate reality and fantasy, cause like, the issues with the police at the moment is major sooo, eh, it's a touchy subject matter)
Yes to this one. When Julie's away Ben and Ship play. Ben and Julie don't meet up often, work and the vigilante life make Ben way too busy, buuut when they do meet up Julie will pop by Bens apartment - Ben makes sure nothing incriminating is around if that's the case - , or they'll hang out at the dog park, and watch the dogs go ballistic around Ship.
For the pet scenarios, visualize them to your hearts content. I got some cats laying around for my reference... even though they mostly sleep- lazy bastards.
Yes to this too! Argit and Ben would totally make bets- Ben being an anodite can sense Kevin and Gwens emotions and when they're gonna break out into a fight- So he always wins the bets. Argit has learned to not bet too high when it comes to that- if he actually forks up in the first place- .
In the case Kevin and Gwen had broken out into a fist fight, Kevin obsorbing the marble counter, Gwen turning into fourarms. Ben nearly broke his cover trying to prevent any fights, until a coworker had stepped in and promptly kicked them both out. (maybe I'll design some coworkers)
Now to get me some mint tea, cause my fingers are about to freeze off ;;

Serious talk: do you ever stop and consider how Carl and Frank Tennyson grew up with trust issues? I mean, a father always being away for work, hiding from them about space and aliens. A mother who was somehow cold, that looked like she expected something from her kids, something they couldn’t understand.
I imagine Frank being the “man” of the house and taking care of his little brother, cooking for him, having him dressed for school, etc. He had to grow up a bit faster.
And then, one day, they wake up before first day of college, their mother is gone and their father has to tell them the truth.
And they are just... mad. To both of them, for lying for hiding them the truth.
There’s no “it was for your safety” that can save them, and their relationship just breaks then and there.
I imagine they didn’t talk with Max for years, Frank had his first kid and somehow they met to talk things out.
I like to think Max promises to retire from Plumbers, just for the possibility to keep in touch with his kids and the families they were forming, to be part of their lives, show them he could be a good parental figure.
And they KIND of forget about everything, but can’t just forgive him.
Carl, especially, can’t forgive him, and every time he comes over and bonds with Ben, somehow he hates it, because he’s like “you were NEVER there for me and now you’re trying to “””steal””” MY son, why wasn’t I the one you taught how to ride a bike?”.
And Frank, who has a grudge with his mother, because she just left like “lol ur not special like me good riddance”. And he hates aliens and really, REALLY hopes his kids too don’t show any sign of being anodites, because that would mean they could leave too??
Both the Tennyson brothers are dead afraid their kids will leave them, just like their parents did. And that’s something that’s tearing them apart, but who can they talk to about it if not each other?
I have a lot of feels for these two men who live everyday wishing things were different from the start and hoping their kids won’t just forget about them and leave.

bUCKLE UP FUCKERS I THINK I’VE FINALLY FIGURED OUT A PROPER WAY TO FIX THE NARRATIVE THAT IS HEX’S ENTIRE ARC
and to a lesser extent gwen’s owo
after several fucking years
this gets really fucking long even for me
Since this is all on this blog now and tumblr deleted a lot of shit I’ll break down my imagined arc for him really fast from os- to the beginning of ov especially cuz some of my followers deb haven’t seen ben 10 past the original series so here we go
i just really want all my concepts in one place so this might get a lil long ahhhh
Hex and Charmcaster used to live in ledgerdomain, Adwaita the turtle bitch with a flaming mana head attacks and Charmcaster’s dad and Hex’s bro is all like I’m gonna protect my fam so he sends Hex with a nine year old charmcaster to Earth and
spoiler alert
spellbinder fucking dies
Hex is torn by this and spends the next several years of his life trying to find the power to defeat Adwaita, and even made a few failed attempts but survived Adwaita’s wrath. He eventually started to dive headfirst into some dark magic and it completely corrupts and changes him to the hex we see today, with grey skin and a giant ass tat on his face, don’t get me started on his eyes and his million other tattoos
He runs into ben on his quest with power, ben, gwen and granpa max ruin his day a fuck ton and then charmcaster gets involved. Hex was not a good caretaker to her and as her vengance and rise to master magician...ism she betrays hex and yeets on out despite getting fucked again by the amazing tennysons
The two have a heart to heart and live together again before Charmcaster and Gwen go fuck up Adwaita in the arc i can’t quite remember other than INFINITY BULLSHIT SOMETHING SOMETHING EVIL BAD GUY WHO KEEPS CHANGING INTO DIFFERENT FORMS SOMETHING SOMETHING ALIEN X
Gwen chooses not to tell hex about his neice and he spends a lot of time failing to find her and falls into a depression for what I think was for at least a year before he discovers Friedkin University and it’s giant library, and it’s secret summoning circle
so he does whatever he can to get a job there and gain full access to the library, which includes donating his entire collection of rare magical books to the library and he nails a job as a professor
i yada yada’d over a lot of stuff and i feel bad but this is where we get into the nitty gritty so if you just wanted my summary then leave no w
So instead of the episode starting with Hex and Gwen already knowing who the other is and it gets weird, we could have Gwen joining this professor’s class because she heard from a lot of people that his class was good and he knew a lot about his topic and of course Gwen being an Anodite/magic caster herself she enrolls in the class, with Hex using a fake last name like Castere
i can’t remember what it used to be i’m sorry
and the minute Gwen sits down to see the class  here come in hex and she is fucking shocked
and hex probably saw the student list and he is looking hella smug knowing that she’s somewhere in his classroom
and when he starts asking questions of course gwen answers and answers correctly  and tension builds in the room as they back and forth with his increasingly difficult questions and Gwen answering them perfectly, and the two are staring each other down
and when hex asks his final question Charmcaster of all people is in his class and interrupts gwen and answers it
and it throws the both of them off guard
Hex has to pretend she’s a student and does the whole “Ah yes our Charming young student is correct”
they go through that dialogue about the Staff of ages and Hex finishes class early, disappearing in a cloud of smoke  Gwen tries to chase down charmcaster but not yelling through the entire classroom to do it
gwen in her secret lair with kevin use spells to check for... spells or mind control and find none yet are suspicious of the fact that both Charmcaster and Hex are there so
they call ben and rook and the next few parts ensue
the thing with helena sucks and i hate helena
hex runs off and bumps into the team where he gets slammed into the nearest tree by a fucking alien turkey and he gets interrogated
hex manages to talk his way out of Ben’s hold by saying he hasn’t done anything wrong and has no reason to detain him and of course hex is right because he’s done his time and has every right to be here
he gets interrogated anyway and is asked about charmcaster and they go through the dialogue over charmcaster that hex goes hey i don’t know why she’s here but i’m glad she’s alive which the former he’s totally lying about
Rook tells him about how she’s unstable yada yada yada hex leaves and they debate whether Hex is actually turning good or not and where their priorities should lie and they decide charmcaster because as they have no fucking clue where she is and what she’s doing
we get to the honestly really good next few minutes of dialogue between hex and charmcaster
like the last bit of good writing before we see hex get turned into a fucking totem so she can use his library to find the staff
gwen drop kicks charmcaster and a fight ensues, where she discovers charmcaster turned hex into a totem and gwen, being the hero she is, tries to steal hex back with her
does she trust him? No
but he does he deserve to be turned into a totem to be used for whatever plan charmcaster has for him? also no
they mange to kick charmaster out through the library but charmcaster manages to grab the totem from gwen before she gets sucked away into where ever Gwen sent her to
and at least then GWEN GETTING THE FUCKING LIBRARY WOULD AT LEAST MAKE MORE SENSE I MEAN COME ON but instead of it being her responsibility to the library its her responsibility to try and get it back to its original owner where she is starting to think maybe he was actually trying to become a good person
three??? several??? a lot of months pass and hex spends a lot of time with Darkstar the bitch and Adwaita the jackass
we can all assume hex tried to strangle adwaita at least once without success
ANYWAY
we start the ep with kevin moping about his magic stolen car that i forgot to mention but its not important and gwen is spending her time in the beginning of the ep researching how to get hex back because he deserves to be free man
ANYWAY THAT GOT MESSY  GWEN LOOKS FOR THE CAR, FINDS IT AND OH NOOOO IT’S A FUCKING TRAP AND SHE GETS TURNED INTO A TOTEM AND ZIP BAG TIME
where she encounters all her enemies and at least she has more reason to try and zap hex because well he still might be evil and he is way too damn close and oh nope we got no powers
shenanigans ensue and while in the bag  hex and gwen get to talking because honestly are either one of them going to talk to darkstar or adwatia and she soon gets to learn about Hex’s real motives behind going to Freidkin and then finally they decide, hey maybe if we work together we can get out
and they come up with the idea of a trap when charmcaster sticks her hand in the bag to get the charm
and THEY WORK TOGETHER TO GET OUT OF THE BAG
bonding ensues and it begins the start of a uh
teacher student relationship???  at least not evil magic man vs smart kickass anodite girl
is all of this perfect???? probably not but  its better than what the show gave us hopefully
also we don’t talk about that one weird romance ep with ben other than hex and charmcaster were literally 10 feet away from each other and should at least have gotten a drama shot between them but whatever who am I to judge the writing of omniverse other than the entire essay i wrote here

She Never Felt Alone
Part of the Cat of a Different Color series
With Allura all healed up, the team decide on their next move. It was supposed to be a quick in and out mission. Instead one of their own ends up captured while another ends up at deaths door. Can the team save them both before it's too late?
Part 1: Just Kitten and Get Out
Things seem to be going fine, then they don’t.
“Come on. Hold still for just a few more seconds.”
<Why did I agree to do this, again?>
<You said you wanted to spend more time together.>
<More time with you. Not him. And certainly not while playing dress up.>
<You look adorable though!>
“He’s right, you do!”
Merla hissed at both Blue and his paladin.
“Yeah, yeah. You're all done, mopey cat. What do you think?”
Merla turned to the mirror and looked herself over.
“Has she always been like this or is it Keith’s influence?” she heard Lance whisper.
<If anything, she influenced Keith. Also, you know she can hear you, right? Cat ears.>
Merla snorted and turned to the side, still looking in the mirror.
Well, she supposed it wasn't nearly as constricting as the armor, and the train felt light enough that it wouldn't tangle with her legs or weigh down her tail if she needed to run.
She'd still rather not wear it.
Lance’s bedroom door opened and the three looked up to see Keith standing in the doorway.
He blinked at the scene in front of him, bemused. “What are you doing? And what is Merla wearing?”
Lance smiled and reached over to adjust the train of the cheetah’s red and white dress. “I'm making the cats fancy clothes. You know, so if we have another party like on Arus.”
“Why would they need fancy clothes?”
“So they'll look fancy. Look at them, running around naked like wild animals!”
“They technically are wild animals. Physically, at least.”
“That doesn't mean they have to look it. They don't even have collars!”
“Merla bit Shiro the one and only time he tried to put a collar on her. He almost needed stitches. Speaking of which, how did you get that on her in the first place?”
Lance winked at him. “What can I say, I have a way with the ladies.”
Keith sent him an unconvinced look. “Blue talked her into it?”
“He may or may not have had a hand in it,” Lance shrugged.
“Thought so.”
“So what do you think? Merla likes it!” Lance said, holding his arms out.
<I did not say that.>
Keith shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips. “I think it's unnecessary and pointless, but by the looks of it you're going to be making the cats entire wardrobes.”
“Why not? Blue’s practically got his own closet back at home filled with lil cat clothes.”
<Seriously?>
<I like looking pretty, thank you very much. And don't act like you don't like to be pampered in your own ways.>
<That is not the point!>
“That's… I don't know what that is,” Keith chuckled. “Anyways, play time's over. Allura and Shiro want us all on the bridge.
<Freedom!> Merla cheered, phasing through the clothes and darting out the door.
The three stared after her before Lance carefully picked up the dress. “I guess that's one way to get it off without messing up the pins.”
“I’m sorry, Princess, did you say we ?” Keith asked, turning to Allura.
“I’m going with you. I’ve traveled through the Galra transportation hubs many times with my father before the war began. I know more about them than any of you.”
<She’s got a point,> Pua agreed.
<Oh please, she walked around with an escort. She’s never had to be sneaky. Hunk has way more experience sneaking through military buildings than her. Plus that was a long time ago. They’ve probably changed floor plans since then,> Merla snorted.
“Princess, I’d rather you stay here,” Coran said.
<Agreed,> Ryou huffed.
<By the Anodites, Merla and Ryou agree on something,> Chip hissed quietly to Blue and he shook with witheld laughter. <Is it time for the Great Shadowing?>
“I’m a part of this fight against Zarkon as much as anyone. I’m going. Does anyone have a problem with that?”
The paladins all looked away from the princess.
<Me!> Merla chirped. <Ryou too. Keith, tell her that!>
Keith glared down at her. No, he mouthed. He liked living, thanks.
Coran turned to Shiro with a worried look.
Shiro shrugged. “Fine. Suit up.”
Coran shrieked and the paladins shot Shiro shocked expressions.
<Come on, guys. The princess knows how to fight. She’ll be fine,> Blue growled.
<Love, being able to fight is low on the list of necessary skills for a spy. The best spies don’t even have to fight.>
<I’m with Blue, you guys are being too hard on her,> Pua snorted.
<I have a bad feeling about this,> Chip sighed.
“He’s still looking. I think he’s waiting for a signal or something,” Lance whispered.
“I got it.” Hunk crawled out from under the console and held up one of the sentinels. He used the wires on it’s disconnected arm to make it greet the Galra on the screen, pretend to type at the console, then point at the Galra, then give him a thumbs up.
The Galra held his hand up in acceptance before ending the call.
<I can’t believe that worked,> Chip said as Hunk sighed.
“Nice job, Hunk.”
“Thanks,” Hunk said, giving Lance a high five with the robot hand.
“Okay, download complete,” Pidge announced and everyone crowded around her.
“What’s it say?” Keith asked.
“Nothing. This place doesn’t have any useful information. Just a schedule of the ships coming in and out.”
“Well, I guess this mission was a bust,” Lance said.
“Let’s get back to the Castle,” Shiro commanded.
“Hold on. Pidge, do you know where that ship is headed?” Allura asked, pointing at the one that had just arrived.
“Um, it’s scheduled to be here for about a half an hour, then head off to Central Command.”
“That’s where they have the information we need, and I’m going to sneak aboard that ship and get it for us.”
<By the Anodites,> Merla groaned.
<Called it,> Chip sighed.
“What? No way!” Lance exclaimed.
“How are you going to get in?” Keith asked, looking skeptical.
Allura pulled off her helmet. “I’m going to walk right through the front.” She closed her eyes and her skin faded to a soft violet and her limbs stretched until she was more than a head taller than all the paladins.
<That’ll help,> Ryou noted as the paladins gasped. <Still a terrible idea.>
“How the heck did you do that?” Hunk asked.
“The Alteans are a chameleon-like people who can blend in with the local populations. It’s the ability that’s made us great explorers and diplomats throughout our history.”
<Actually, chameleons change color mostly in response to mood or to regulate temperature. A better comparison would be certain cephalopods, like cuttlefish.> The cats turned to Blue, who held up his nose. <What? Yeah, I know things. You got a problem with that?>
<Once an organic nerd, always an organic nerd,> Merla purred, cuddling up against him.
<Got that right!>
“No, just one at a time, and I will need a change of costume,” Allura replied to Lance, Hunk, and Pidge as the cats refocused. She turned to the Galra Shiro had knocked out. “I can use his uniform as a disguise.”
“I can’t let you go in there alone.”
“Excuse me?” Allura turned to Shiro with a defiant expression.. “I do not need your permission.”
<Oh snap!>
<Chip, no.>
“It’s too dangerous. I’m going in with you.”
“You will stick out like a choferiak’s nose.”
“You’re going to need that nose, princess,” Pidge stepped in. “Shiro’s hand is made from Galra tech. It’s the only thing we have that will allow us to interface with their systems and gather intel. I can monitor the download remotely from here.”
<If only we had someone properly sneaky that could work Galra tech!>
Merla bit down on Blue’s ear.
“Fine, you can come.”
“Uh, you guys better hurry up if you want to get on and off before the ship leaves for Zarkon central,” Hunk pointed out.
The two turned to go and Keith asked, “How are you going to get Shiro on board?”
The two shared a look.
“Oh! Laundry cart!” Lance explained, earning confused looks all around. “Like, you know in those break out movies when the prisoners hide in the laundry carts in order to sneak out! Shiro could hide in one of those crates they’re loading onto the ship and Allura could push it onboard! Like a laundry cart!”
Keith and Allura still looked a bit confused, but Pidge nodded. “That could work. Might be a tight fit. I'm pretty sure those things aren't filled with cloth.”
“It's our best bet though,” Shiro sighed. “Alright, Allura, get changed.”
The princess got to work pulling the Galra’s armor off while Shiro turned to the others.
“You guys stay here and stay hidden. Pidge, try and see if you can get any other information out of here.”
“Right.”
He turned to Ryou with a smirk. “You wouldn't stay here even if I told you to, would you?”
Ryou snorted and pressed up against his side.
“Didn't think so. Just stay close. We don't know what would happen if the Galra got their hands on one of you.
<Could they even keep us contained?> Pua asked.
<Doubtful, but we still should be careful,> Ryou replied.
“I’m ready,” Allura said, coming in fully armored.
“Alright, let’s go.”
<I wanna go on record saying that this is a terrible idea.>
Merla couldn’t say she hated being right. Actually, she loved it. What she did hate, however, was when being right came with a cost.
Things had been going fine. They’d snuck in, quietly taken down the sentinels guarding the room, discovered that the Galra had somehow been able to tap into a new source of quintessence (or at least she hoped it was a new source. If they had once more reached the Lifelight then the team had more problems to worry about then they’d thought), and stolen a vial of refined quintessence off a cart.
And then the weirdo in the hood that reeked of dark magic appeared next to Keith and everything went downhill.
<Keith!> Merla growled. She pounced at at the druid that blasted Keith, but they teleported away.
They appeared next to the vial of refined quintessence Keith had dropped when he flew back and picked it up.
“Okay, plan B!” Keith shouted, leaping to his feet and drawing his bayard. They both charged the druid, only for them to teleport away again after setting the vial on a new cart.
After nearly getting her head sliced off on accident, Merla fell back, watching Keith chase about the appearing and disappearing druid until they disappeared and didn’t come back.
<Where’d they go?> she hissed, looking around.
“There,” Keith called, jumping aside as violet lightning rained down on them.
With the druid’s focus on Keith, Merla jetpacked to where the druid was. She latched onto the shocked druid just as they tried to teleport again.
She felt her armor fall away and her physical form disintegrate as her quintessence was pulled along with the druid. She felt her quintessence brush against that of the druid. She felt their pain-surprise-confusion-pain-fear-curiosity-pain-anger-curiosity-pain-fear-anger-pain-curiosity. She felt them return to the physical plane and she returned to her physical form, digging her fangs into their shoulder.
They let out a shout and blasted her off with magic. She flew backwards, slamming into a case of quintessence. She heard Keith call out to her as the glass shattered and the quintessence poured over her.
Then everything went white.
“I think we’re in trouble.”
“You think?”
<Now’s not the time for fighting,> Ryou huffed.
Allura looked around the room before taking a few steps back. “Okay, stand aside.”
“What? Why? What are you-”
Allura rushed forwards, slamming the door off the track and plowing into the guard standing outside. The boys followed her out as she yanked the gun out of the unconscious Galra’s hands. Ryou sent an impressed look to the helmet embedded into the wall before turning to his paladin, who was gaping at the princess.
Ryou snorted as she asked, “What?”
Shiro just looked her up and down.
He finally snapped out of it as a group of sentinels turned a corner and began charging them.
“Let’s go!” They took off down the hall and Shiro called into the comm, “Pidge, fire up the Green Lion! We’re coming in hot!”
They stopped as a pair of sentinels appeared in front of them. Allura tried to shoot them and Ryou dropped to the floor to avoid the blasts that flew out and hit one of the sentinels behind them. Shiro quickly stepped in to take down the two. As the others approached, Allura grabbed one of the fallen and tossed it, knocking down the others.
“I thought you said you’d traveled around the galaxy,” Shiro said, grabbing the gun from her and turning it around. “I mean, you fly a spaceship. How could you possibly not know how to hold this correctly?”
“I’m tense. This is a tense situation,” Allura snapped, grabbing the gun in one hand and his arm in the other before dragging him away.
They paused as the realized no one was following them. They turned to see Ryou still collapsed on the floor.
“Black, come on. We need to get moving.”
The liger whined, but didn’t move.
“Ryou, what’s wrong?” Shiro asked, coming to his side.
“Secure hatches. All personnel take positions for departure.”
Allura looked up at the announcement before shoving the gun back into Shiro’s hands. She scooped Ryou into her arms, saying, “We can’t stay here.”
“R-right.” Shiro took the lead. He made sure Allura was keeping up before calling into the others. “Guys, something’s wrong with Ryou.”
“He’s not the only one. All three of ours suddenly just collapsed before disappearing on us. Pua and Chip were gone right away and Blue only stuck around long enough to tell Lance they’d gone back to the lions before disappearing as well.”
“It’s not just Ryou. Chip, Pua, and Blue were also affected,” Shiro explained for Alluras sake.
“What could be causing this?”
“Your guess is as good as mine. Ryou, you should head back to the Black Lion and rest.”
Ryou gave a weak growl and pawed at Allura’s shoulder.
The princess gave him a sad smile and pressed her head against his. “We’ll be okay Black. Go on. You’re in no condition to fight.”
“She’s right. We’ve got this. Head back. Once we get back to the castle, Pidge can run a diagnostic and hopefully figure out what happened.”
As Ryou finally relented and disappeared, Pidge called through the comms, “Shiro, we’re at the Green Lion. We’re going to-”
Shiro gave her a moment to continue before calling her name.
“Sorry, I'm fine.”
“You collapsed! She collapsed, Shiro!” Hunk added with a worried voice. “Lance is helping her into her seat because she can barely stand on her own!”
“I'm fine. It's just Chip. I can feel her better in here. It's… They're hurting bad. It’s like pain and exhaustion and numbness and lightheadedness all rolled into one. I… I don’t…”
“It’s okay, Pidge. Can you guys fly?”
“Yeah, we’re heading out.”
“Good.” Shiro ducked as laser fire shot past them. “This way!” he told Allura turning them down a side hallway.
“Are you alright?” Allura asked.
“Yeah, just worried about the lions. Do you have any idea what this could be? I didn’t think they could get sick.”
“Neither did I. But then, we never thought they could speak or create other forms either. My father had always just assumed it was an odd result of mixing the material the lions were made of with Altean science. A sort of accidental AI. To think that they could be thinking, feeling creatures capable of intelligent communication is… astounding! I don’t think my father ever had any idea of what they are capable of, let alone Coran or I.”
“Then what are we supposed to do?”
Allura bowed her head a little. “I suppose all we can do is what you suggested. Have Pidge, Hunk, and Coran run some tests and hope for the best.”
Shiro nodded with a shaky breath. A shot nearly grazed his side and he shook himself. Right, focus. We need to get out of here and then I can worry.
Allura turned to shoot at the sentinels chasing them as Shiro turned a corner and called out, “The escape pods are up here!”
“Formulating navigation. All crew assume secure hyper-speed positions.”
Panting, Allura pulled the Galra helmet off her head. “Hurry! We can't leave once the ship goes into hyper-speed!”
“Sh-Shiro.”
“What is it?”
“I… I think we know why the lions are so messed up.”
“Why?” They ran into the escape pod hanger and Shiro set his hand on the door controls to shut them. “Hunk?”
“Shiro,” Lance said. “I think Merla’s dying.”

coool coool coooooool, just realized that tumblr has a tag limit after ive already written a miniature essay in the tags of both this post and the other post and ive lost a lot of both of them. gonna try and recall everything i said now lmfao (plus the tags that DIDNT get deleted out of existence, so the part thats formatted weird is bc of that and sorry for the wall of text lmfao - the commas were tag breaks)
the way u put it abt kevin dying alone just like a rat in the gutter and ben waking up and looking for him… GOD kill me thats SOOOO good n emotional ARGH, im having so much trouble imagining how gwen would react bc like… she has NEVER gotten that close to a situation like that, like ben has gotten pretty close. hes killed ppl before (even if cannon never mentions it :/ ) and been killed, and hes left ppl for dead and been left for dead, and whether the show acknowledges it or not hes pretty well versed in this stuff, we can guess how he would act pretty easily, but gwen…. gwen to me kind of seems to live in a tower to speak, shes been around dangerous and in danger and been threatened and seen her loved ones get hurt many times , but she also seems to have lived a relatively sheltered life, whether by the way she was raised or by her own anodite heritage just. making her mind somewhat different from humans, something more free and less easy to be hurt, so then if u have her kill somebody COMPLETELY ON ACCIDENT while simultaneously being COMPLETELY AT FAULT, (and yes in canon i think shes also killed ppl but she never rly had any reaction to it), man… how would she react? to killing one of her only friends? to killing her boyfriend?, ben starts yelling at her and does she freeze or does she argue or does she break down?, i think she doesnt face any "official" consequences - like u said i think its swept under the rug, i think at BEST ben petitions to have her put on trial but its a closed trial in plumber court, no cameras and handpicked jury, rook at least seems to be friendly with kevin tho that was at the car show and friedkin, and max… well. max has signed many a death warrant, he was the one that both opened the null void portal for kevin and he barely reacted when phil was thrown into the void in os, if his granddaughter killed somebody well…, frankly even tho max acted hospitable to kevin in uaf it never seemed that he particularly cared for him to me, he acted like an adult should meaning he was hospitable and welcoming, but there wasnt any genuine attempt to reach out or anything, so i think while he might think it sad that kevin died and might think his manner of death particularly gruesome, his first and only thought is about gwen and ben (and also how to not let this get out), and then… would kevins mom (i never count harvey since it seems he and her are long divorced and i accept kevins retelling of his past as truth and not harveys), but anyway would kevins mom even BE told?, certainly not by the plumbers whom quite frankly we KNOW did nothing for her after devins death, at least not anything substantial - they dont keep tabs on her and kevin, which is why max didnt know kevin or his whereabouts, and she seemed completely forgotten about after devin died, so i think she would just be left in the dark again. it would have to be ben who tells her, and i say that bc i genuinely do not believe that gwen would have the guts to face her ,
forgot to mention but i think even if gwen were put on trial for it, and even if she completely admitted guilt, i dont think she would get in trouble for it. or, if she did, it would be like lowest possible security plumber jail lmfao. it would be declared a tragic accident that she had no way of knowing would happen and that would be it. it wouldnt even mar her record, or if it did it wouldnt affect any of her prospects in the future and would be completely hidden from all official public records. max is powerful enough for that lol
oh - my agenda was like... an anti-shipping agenda actually? lmfao. basically, i dont think gwen and kevin should be together, and gwen killing kevin would only further that lmfao, especially if it was, say, subconsciously done - she was mad at him, she shoved him out the ship "as a joke", causing his gruesome death... well, you might see how that furthers my agenda lol. but no, i think gwen and kevin were an awful ship, even in cannon - gwen often ignores and disregards his thoughts and feelings, constantly seems to not think about how his past might have affected him and the way he thinks and acts in the present, and seems to enjoy, well... hitting him. or, at least, getting physical with him. kevin, for his part, isnt as bad, but he refuses to open up and he is a very poor communicator and allows gwen to walk all over him. all of my points have cannon basis, but i, personally, am very bad at formatting my thoughts and writing them out, and that, combined with the way that fans of gwevin often come for my head when i so much as suggest they might be better with other people, has sort of dampened my desire to create a post about it lol. this opinion might come as a surprise since i do on occasion rb gwevin art, but its for the art and not the ship lol.
I don't have the emotional fortitude to write it, but the brain does sometimes mosey over to the potential aftermath of simple shit like 'the Omnitrix is programmed to prevent its wielder from dying', 'Ben is known to occasionally get the wrong alien', and 'falling from great heights is very bad for your health' coming together after Gwen shoves the boys out of the ship during Showdown to result in one dead Kevin.
Like damn but that could be one dramatic and painful storyline.

Random: Reasons people don’t have blood siblings in my UAF-brand shit (as opposed to my Rooters-compliant shit)
Helen’s parents died when she was like one, even with a Kineceleran mom that is not enough time for more kids and thanks to the whole ‘half-human’ thing she was the only one that came out of her clutch
Pierce’s mom discovered during pregnancy that it was not a good idea for her and while she and Pierce both came out fine in the end, his parents both agreed they were not rolling that dice again
Cooper and Mike both fall into the same ‘young mutants are very high maintenance’ category
The powers are weakest when they’re babies, yes, but when those powers include psychometry and give the child migraines? Cooper was a very overstimulated and often pained baby, which meant a whole shitload of crying at all hours, and it wasn’t until his technokinesis got strong enough to notice that anybody figured out why. Again, not rolling those dice again.
Mike everybody knew was a mutant from the start- you can’t exactly miss that your newborn has extra mouths- but young Anodite caloric needs, plus a metabolism that shouldn’t function, plus eventual teething (which didn’t exactly go quick)? His infant and toddler years were spent scrawny as hell, constantly hungry, more often than not in pain, and veering between ‘exhaustingly loud’ and ‘worryingly quiet’. Again, not again.
(Fun Fact: Gwen also has the young Anodite caloric needs going on and always has, but since her metabolism isn’t running under the assumption she’s a particularly ill shrew it’s been much more manageable. Part of who she ended up in karate was because her parents kept trying to get her into different sports to hide disparity. Which leads into why Ken ended up having to drop his own athletics, because after a point they just ran out of money to spare and then the money was going into their college funds.)
Manny’s parents, in a break from tradition, did not have a painful reasoning. They looked at the place they already had above the butchershop and went ‘we can fit precisely one teenage Tetramand in here’. If they’d had space for two they probably would’ve gone for another, but between themselves and Manny’s grandma and a lack of desire to buy a new place just to have more kids, they stuck with one and have never regretted the decision.
Elena’s parents were in a similar boat, but they made their decision before having a what they considered a permanent place to call home. Their thought was more ‘if we only have one child, we can pour all our resources into that one basket and give them the absolute best start we can’. So they did, and again, never regretted it.

Quick ficlet because words and also I’m hungry.
~~
Okay, maybe, maybe, they’d gone a little bit overboard planning this meal. Taken what was originally intended to be a simple fifth anniversary celebration of the defeat of the Highbreed, and expanded it somewhat. How could they not? With so many people to feed, mutants and hybrids both, that you had to break out a grill to meet demands, and if you were going to grill you may as well barbeque. Then, if you were going to barbeque, then you of course needed brisket, and if you’re paying for brisket, well, Julie’d been wanting to try to make duck confit ever since Herve’s mom introduced her to it. And of course, if you were paying for brisket and duck you may as well splurge on some good seafood too. Wasn’t like Kevin couldn’t afford to foot the bill.
And then things spiraled.
“Okay,” Julie said as everybody crowded around the tables she, Pierce, Manny, Elena, Alan, and Kevin had worked to fill with everything from red rice to slow-roasted pork to fresh crab, “if it’s on a patterned bowl or platter, it’s spicy. If it’s got a flag next to it, none of us are responsible for any damage done by the spice level.”
“They’re trying to kill us,” Ben joked, initially at the empty space that had once held his cousin, and then to Rook.
“And it’ll be your own damn fault if it works,” Manny said, Pierce following behind with more information.
“Everything on the right table is kosher, middle table has dairy, left table has pork and shellfish. Nobody should be allergic to anything. If you want dessert, that was Mike’s business.” There was a moment’s pause as he swallowed an unholy bite of food. The meal portion of things had, understandably, taken a good while, he and Gwendolyn had been raised better than to wipe out the snacks provided, and young Anodites were just not built to skip lunch. Really, it was lucky he’d waited for things to hit tables.
There had been a silent agreement from the start they would get the first run through the selection and even before Julie opened her mouth they’d been grabbing plates.
“Upstairs, first door on the right. I may or may not have bought out three patisseries.”
“I knew there had to be a reason Kevin kept you out of prison besides paranoia.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Help yourselves,” Alan said, rolling his eyes, “and if you have a problem with anything…”
“No we don’t?”
“Exactly.”

You know what? Just because you’d be able to talk my ears off with LuckyBoy!AU, I’m gonna keep asking you about it with long asks so I can get long answers (I love reading long answers since they give out so much info and speculation, while leaving room for discussion as well). So let's have a chat through asks so neither of us have anxiety(?) while talking to each other in messages.
Who would be some of the regulars when Ben is working at the cooffe shop? (I also love this au XD) Would Cooper, Rook, Gwen, Max and/or anyone else go at the same time as a group and have a casual conversation with the barista? Would Ben accidently gain confidential information about the Plumbers this way? I wonder if he would be famous between the aliens and humans near Undertown as one of the few humans that's actually chill with every alien regardless of appearances thanks to knowing Gwen with the Omnitrix from before?
I feel like Ben purposefully avoiding Cooper as his vigilante persona would start as a measure to avoid his identity being exposed (I belive it was Cooper who exposed him in UAF, right?), but later would develop into a troll play, waiting for him to finally find him and play a prank there.
Would Ben play pranks on Will Harangue for giving him bad publicity to the humans? I mean, it's not like he can just appear in front of a camera and tell his side of the story, he would be captured instantly, or interrupted at the very least; and he having his own social media wouldn't work too well since he isn't a tech genius and the Plumbers could track him down.
Also, what has Gwen done that they think they need Ben to protect them from her? Like yeah, in OV there's a lot of property damage, but they don't believe they need protection from him (at least I don't think so), so she must've done something big in order for that to happen.
And now an ask that isn't directly related to Ben XD Who would be some of the people leading an investigation against the vigilante, trying to discover his identity as well as species? Like I imagine Rook would be more of an addon to said investigation, being on the lookout but not actively investigating everything that Ben has been involved with, and Gwen has a lot on her plate, so let's not let her join said investigation.
Oh oh oh, I just thought about it, if Ben could be considered an Anodite in this AU, what happened when Verdona appeared in that one episode of AF? Did she manage to find Ben in the first place and almost but not quite take him away? Does the rest of the family know he's an Anodite and what are their thoughts about it? If they don't then how would Ben explain some of the magic things that he does and someone witness?
Ohohoh, buttering me up are ya? Well you're in for a brain dump.
Ok, first I gotta say: The alien cafe is separate to the plumbers (the plumbers have their on cafeteria, but like to indulge in other food sometimes, and non-instant coffee.)
So I was thinking, one of Ben's regular coworkers is Alan Albright. Reason for this is because Alan is not allowed to go on missions often. He's too young. I mean I know they definitely have child soldiers in OS- buuuut Max's influence has put a stop to that. He's seen how it affected Gwen. So, Alan is put on easy patrols in low crime area, in the city.
Alan, however wants in on the action, so Max had suggested the cafe. Ben and Alan have a very brotherly bond, and Ben (outside of his vigilante life) has been swaying Alan's opinion on both, the plumbers and his alter ego.
Manny, Alan, Helen and Cooper- When not busying himself with the tech lounge- (sorry, Pierce is still dead in this), will often come by the cafe, they sit in a booth and discuss things. Most occasions Ben is invited to sit with them.
When Gwen pops by their interactions are brief, Ben would try to tease her about anything and everything under the sun. "See Kevin lately?" "Oh, got beat by the walking glow stick again, huh?" "Geez, another jail break? 3rd time this week!"
Normally he gets a fiery reaction and a nasty retort.
Of course Ben would take every opportunity he can to get info. At first it wasn't intentional, he'd just eaves drop on a few conversations that interested him. As time goes by though, he's found that a lot of people, plumber, criminal and just outer space travelers, are more than happy to unload some gossip. Ben is very much delighted by that.
He's not exactly famous, he's well known for being a friendly person, yes. But not all throughout Undertown.
ain't cooper the blond dude with some kinda telekenetic power that ended up turning into an almost Kevin duplicate? (i'll fix that) NGL I forgot he grew up in UAF.
Pretty sure the one that exposed Ben was the nerd who was voiced by the VA of Robin (TeenTitans/Go). Now that you bring it up though, that guy... Jimmy, is someone to be avoided, cause he's a snoopy guy. Who also hangs out at the cafe a lot to get details. Always ends up harassing Ben cause he knows Ben has all the juicy gossip.
And yeah Ben would totally take advantage of it to mess with the poor kid.
Definitely. Ben would mess with Will Harangue as much as possible. Especially when he goes live. Ben won't confront him personally, or do anything that could possibly reveal his indentity. He's got a lot of unique mannerisms that his family could quickly pick up on, there's also his voice, although muffled by the mask, if it's recorded enough- it's another identifier.
So that leaves Ben with his sticker trail. They're very bright, almost blinding, so Ben's stickers are an annoying inconvenience. He could also use a weak spell that causes it's victims to yawn/sneeze. Maybe he'll hang in the background briefly and wave. Just some of things he does to get under Harangue's skin basically.
Gwen:
So, you picked up on what I've hinted at. Good.
Before I go into Gwen, I'll say this: The plumbers are stationed on Earth to protect humanity. That means the aliens who have immigrated are less of a priority. That doesn't mean that they're completely unsafe, the plumbers still patrol Undertown and look after the people- just less so.
Aliens that leave Undertown especially- Normally they're ushered back by a few Plumbers standing guard- those that pose a threat or seem to pose a threat are dealt with by the plumbers. Which isn't too bad, just a slap on the back, a fine, maybe jail time.
Unless you run into Gwen. Who is much more intimidating, much more brutish, she won't exactly hold back. So- she hasn't got the best rep with Undertown. She's still a hero. Known throughout the universe. Just not a kind one.
On several occassions, Ben(vigilante) has had to step in to get her to back down from dealing with criminals.
The plumbers don't have a lot to go on with the investigating. Ben doesn't leave any DNA trails, cause anodites have no DNA. No hair strands, no finger prints, no blood. Even his stickers. They got nothing, nada.
That doesn't mean it's completely hopeless. A clean hit to Ben has on more than one occasion shocked him out of his anodite form, reverting him back to human (which is why he has the glasses and face mask, as a just incase scenario.) Sometimes even spooking/shocking him can make him human again. If his focus is messed with he's human, kinda deal.
So the plumbers are aware of this. They do their best to be as violent and destructive when they see Ben. They're attempts usually fail unless they have someone competent enough with them, Ie; Gwen, Rook.
Villains are also aware of this. So risky buiz am I right?
In regards to Verdona; honestly, I feel like having her know about Ben's existence as an anodite would kinda nerf this whole thing completely. Verdona, I bet, would be a massive gossip. Although her contact with Max is limited, he'd hear about it eventually. Game over. There's also Sunny, who would take advantage of this information and spread it across the universe.
So instead maybe Verdona pays a visit later rather than now.
She'd also be less inclined to take Ben back home, I like how Verdona is indifferent to Ben but loves Gwen, I wanna keep that aspect.
To explain any magic happenings that his family or friends have spotted, he just says he's practicing to be an illusionist. Or he broke a glow stick, or his has glitter in his pocket. (He always has something retaining to magenta hidden up his sleeve.)
Hopefully that got all your questions answered for now!

Turns out this fic from this morning wanted a part II. More Argit, more Mike, more Erinaen necromancy.
~~
The Ra- Argit, if he’s staying in his home he should use his name- Argit’s apartment isn’t anything impressive. Past the loading bays, up the stairs, first door on the right. Only door on the right. There’s a livingroom immediately when you get through the door, a kitchenette on the other side of it. First door on the left down the hallway is a bathroom that Mike’s tempted to go for as soon as he knows where it is. The Bellwood base isn’t nearly as worried about prisoner hygiene as he would like. But, he doesn’t want to give the impression that he needs anything. At all. In an ideal world he would have complete control over this situation and he wants it to looks like he does.
The place smells like flowers.
“Kev’s room is the second door on the right,” Argit says as he beelines for the kitchenette, “you can use it if you want, just stay out the chest in the closet. Or you can just have the couch if you’d rather.” Mike settles down on the far end of the couch, forcing himself to relax and lounge against the arm.
“I think I’ll take the open bed.” The forbidden chest has him curious.
“A’ight.” He takes something out of the freezer and fiddles with the oven. “You want some tea? Not like, tea-tea, but honestly better in my opinion.” Fuck it, in for a penny in for a pound.
“Sure.” Chewing his inner lip, Mike glances around the place, taking in the knickknacks, machine parts, and loose fabric lying around. That was something he’d need to look into, new clothes. His outfit is wearing heavily in places he really doesn’t want it to. “What’s in the first room to the right?” He can see it from the couch, a sign on the door that he can’t read but seems suspiciously like a ‘do not enter’ sign.
“Weapons I doubt you know how to use, potion and spell components I doubt you know how to use, and books I know you can’t read.” That last bit gets Mike’s hackles up. He can read more languages than he can speak- though that’s not too difficult, it’s only two and a half.
“Try me.” Argit chuckles again, leaning over the counter that separates the two rooms with a toothy smile.
“Like the enthusiasm, kid, but it’s not a judgement thing. They’re in Erinaen, and given they’re the only things in Erinaen on this planet odds are you can’t read them.” It was a logical argument. The bastard. “I’m not gonna put anything in your tea, if that’s good with you. Just straight soggy bark water.” This time Mike is the one chuckling.
“I didn’t realize I was quite that evil.”
“Better to try something alone for the first taste. It’d suck to find out you would’ve liked something better without milk and sugar and shit.”
“It’d suck worse to not get the necessary calories in.” Which, alongside his stomach, reminds him- “What’s for dinner?”
“Lasagna,” Argit replies. “Honestly forgot all about dinner until you showed up, but you’re wasting away at least as bad as me so, food it is.” Mike nods as both the kettle and oven go off, Argit handling the latter before filling a mug and small bowl. When he returns to the kitchen, he places the mug on the coffeetable rather than hand it to Mike directly, watching carefully as he picks it up, and settles in on the opposite arm of the couch. “How many calories you need?”
Fuck, why did he mention calories? Mike shrugs.
“I get hungry,” he says, knowing as the words come out his mouth that it’s not going to slide. In an attempt to give himself a moment to think of an proper answer, he takes a sip of the golden liquid in his mug and about dies. “Holy shit, what is this?” Argit looks too amused.
“It’s good for you, aids in healing.” It’s like he just tried to drink the world’s citrus supply, and that must show on his face because Argit stands with a chuckle and brings him a pot of sugar. He manages to only dump half of it into the mug. “Now, just how hungry are we talking?”
“That really isn’t your business.” Argit leans back, gazing down his muzzle at him. It’s fairly impressive, how somebody who can’t even be five foot and who Mike is near certain he could turn inside out if he had to can make him feel like a little kid being interrogated for stealing books from the library.
“Oh, so you have a healthcare provider I can send you to?” Mike does not, and apparently this shows on his face too. “Until tomorrow morning I am your healthcare provider, and as long as people are going around expecting to be able to get care from me I am gonna do a damn good job. That means knowing how much I need to feed you so you don’t starve while in my care.”
Mike glares at him. Argit glares back.
It burns to break first.
“I don’t have exact numbers anymore,” Mike says, “but I used to be able to knock down a lasagna on my own easy.” Argit nods.
“Then we’ll start there. I’ll get the leftovers reheating after the lasagna comes out, hopefully between the two you’ll be good for the night.”
Mike, honestly doesn’t know how to respond. That’s about the sort’ve response he’d generally gotten from the better doctors, or from his father and uncle. Not people. Argit snorts and pats his arms, so clearly he’s just being incredibly expressive tonight. He’s going to have to work on that. Clearly been wearing that helmet too long.
…fuck, he forgot his helmet.
He was just falling right to pieces, wasn’t he?
“You’re not the only mutant around here,” Argit explains. “Fuck, you’re not the only mutant in the building. I know plenty about how much we can put away.” Oh. Okay. Mike never really bothered to research Levin’s little friend more than learning he existed and what he is. Still, it’s always nice to have other mutants around. Argit laps up some of his own tea. “Any other health shit you want handled, since you’re already here?”
He shouldn’t say any more. This is already a precarious situation and Mike doesn’t like other people being in control of things. But, he’s about eighty percent sure Argit isn’t going to turn out like Charmcaster- for one thing he hasn’t even flirted a little with him yet- and the lack of healthcare these past several years hasn’t been good to him he knows. If Argit could help with one thing, well, maybe it’s worth seeing if he can help with the others?
“You know about the seizures,” he starts, just to make sure he covers everything.
“Kevin gets those too, so I should be able to set you up with some preventative measures and some stuff for recovery.” Mike nods.
“I need, so many calories-” he’d started eating people half because of the calories “-I can’t really taste things, talking hurts. Mostly things along those lines.” Argit makes a concerned chirping noise and scoots closer.
“That’s fucked up,” he says, “mind if I take a look?” Mike already knows what he’ll see, he’s got more teeth hidden around than any horror movie monster. “You don’t gotta.”
He opens his mouth.
Argit whistles when he looks inside.
“Damn, Mike-” he tenses “-some of these things needed to come out yesterday.” And relaxes again. He’s used to getting teeth pulled, with how difficult it is to keep them clean at the best of times given their layout. They grow back in a week or two anyway. Argit backs away, and muscle memory alone has him presenting the mouths on his palms for inspection as well.
Teething had not been pleasant in the Morningstar household.
Argit takes it in stride though, tutting over the state of them with the same calmness he’d tutted over the ones in his proper mouth. He’s all seriousness when he backs away, visibly turning the situation over in his head.
“Okay,” he says, “I can’t do anything about the tasting thing. There’s just, not room on most of the surfaces of that mouth for tastebuds. I have never before seen a person with teeth on their tongue and I can almost understand you draining the energy from people given how much of a bitch it has to be eating with those chompers.” Mike nods. It is a bitch. He stopped eating popsicles at five, when one stick got stuck and Elena and Cooper had to help him work it free. Plus, though Argit isn’t necessarily being tactful, he’s still being nicer about the matter than the vast majority of people who experienced that array in any capacity.
“A lot of them need pulled though, from mouth and palms, they’re just in too bad of shape. Either you can go to a specialist for that, or I could probably get Kevin to do it. None of them are in such bad shape it should be anything more than a good yank each.” Mike raises an eyebrow.
“You’re suggesting I let Levin pull my teeth.” Argit shrugs.
“You don’t gotta. Just saying he probably could, as long as I was there to numb the pain and speed the healing. Or I could recommend you to somebody with more experience in the matter.” Mike rasps his tongue against the teeth on his palate.
“I’ll consider the matter.”
“Good, just leaving those is asking for more health complications down the road, and you’ll probably have a better time eating proper food once they’re gone.” Probably.
“And the calorie needs?” He’s just been living with those his entire life. ‘Hyper-accelerated metabolism’ is in big bold letters on multiple pages of his medical files. Nobody’s been able to do anything before but now there’s a little voice in the back of his head whispering that hey, Argit is magic, and he’s trying to help, just maybe
Argit shrugs.
“I can’t know if it’s abnormal unless I see your appetite and powers both in action. And even if it is, I’d have to do research to see if it’s a mutant thing or an Anodite thing.” The hackles go up again.
“I’m fairly certain Gwen doesn’t have this problem.”
“No,” Argit says easily, pausing for more tea. Mike also takes another sip. It’s much nicer with the sugar. “But the problem might be Anodite-specific. Knowing details like that can give me a baseline to figure out and fix the core problem, or at least work out a way you can manage it better.”
Mike hates that that makes sense. He nods anyway.
“But you could help me manage it,” he asks. Argit shrugs again.
“If I can’t figure it out myself, there’s enough necromancers out there it’s likely somebody has a clue and I can get the information from them, adjust it to fit your needs.” He looks at Mike over his bowl. “Listen, I have been managing all of Kevin’s chronic shit since we were kids. This?” He gestures at Mike’s everything. “Is nothing compared to that walking disaster area.” He smirks a little. “Swear he’s more cancer than man some days.” It shouldn’t be funny, but the offhanded way Argit says it, like this is in no way special or dangerous, makes Mike chuckle. The idea that he can do enough with magic that cancer is hardly worth more than an offhanded comment is, nice. That little bit of hope gets bigger.
He’d really like to stop being so hungry.
“I would appreciate the help,” he finds himself saying. On the other end of the couch, Argit sighs into his bowl, then raises it in acknowledgement, giving Mike a smile.
“Then you’ll get it,” he says, then breaks into a small smirk, “as long as you don’t go punching my familiar anymore.” Mike pauses.
Blinks.
Then laughs.
“It’s a deal.”
