[ ride ] Izumi pushes Itachi down and climbs on top, holding eye contact the entire time…
"Izumi-chan??" Itachi flushed, staring up at her with wide eyes. Oh, this was definitely a risqué position indeed, he did not know why she had suddenly appeared in his bedroom so. The night cast long moonlight through the window, Itachi's hair a black flower blooming underneath his head. There were creases in his face where the pillowcase had been pressed, and a strand of hair caught in his mouth. How did she get in here? For a moment Itachi wished he had the byakugan to see if there are anyone around, instead of merely relying on his ears and intuition to glean their privacy. She was warm over his nightclothes, silky indigo jinbei of nightjars flitting across night sky. "...What is it?" He whispered, alert.

A suit for Kafka. Suit designed specifically for Kafka. Kafka's suit.
Summary: After the Meireki kaiju was defeated it was time to celebrate. But when alcohol flows people ask stupid questions and then try to test a theory.
Rating: T, very strong T
Warnings: Use of alcohol, people being drunk, Unsafe attempt on the use of katana and a gun, swearing, OSHA is crying.
Read on AO3
A/N: This is a crack idea. IDK man I'm very sleepy, this took me like 3 hours lol. I wonder if I should just stop writing lmao. Have fun! Reblogs and comments much appreciated, thank you
The Meireki Kaiju has been defeated. The destruction and deaths uncountable but they did it. Japan will need to rebuild and lift itself from the rubble but it survived. The celebration was huge.
As soon as the majority of kaiju carcass was removed and some rubble pushed off to the side and the heroes had time to recover parades were thrown. Everyone who had direct hand in the final battle were made to participate. That meant Captain Ashiro and Narumi, Vice-Captain Hoshina, Kikoru Shinomiya, Reno Ichikawa and most importantly - Kaiju no. 8.
Kafka didn't want to go. He still struggled with accepting the fact he would never be human again and still had troubles maintaining human form. Most important - he just didn't feel like he deserved as much attention as everyone wanted him to get.
"You deserve it, sir!" Reno argued.
They all gathered in Hoshina's and Narumi's hospital room to discuss the upcoming event.
"Yeah, you dum-dum, you were the one who punched through that core!" Kikoru reminded him.
"I don't know guys, it was everyone's effort, if it wasn't for all the troop members–" Kafka tried to defend himself but then got interrupted by Hoshina.
"It's not just a vanity project," he said. "The more you show up as a part of Defence Force, the harder it will be for the Brass to eliminate you."
"Late Director General Shinomiya believed in you," Mina added. "While Director Itami plans on honouring that I'm not sure if he would fight as hard for you if HQ changes their minds."
"They are trying to protect you with the power of public opinion!" Narumi threw in. He barely said anything until now, scrolling social media and at the same time testing the special glasses the R&D department made for him to offset the damage to his eyes. "You better strike that iron while it's hot. People are going nuts on SNS over you."
That was a hard argument to beat.
"Alright, I'll go." Kafka had no choice but to give in.
And so the parade was held as soon as everyone recovered. Afterwards the victors were invited to a party in their name. Kikoru was sulking because she was still not old enough to drink with everyone. It wasn't really a problem until later in the evening when all the adults were slowly going over the 'tipsy' stage.
Hoshina and number 10 were bickering (yes, the suit came with Hoshina as it wouldn't stop yapping to the techs and everyone decided to let the Vice-Captain babysit it), Mina was going off on karaoke machine with Shinonome singing 'Pink Pony Club'.
"Heeeeyy, Izumooooo," Kafka rolled over to Haruichi. "Can't you seriously talk to your folks and make me a better suit? Why is my release force a fucking 2%. I'm the strongest kaiju in all history man!"
"Didn't we have this conversation before? It's still skill issue!" Haruichi replied, trying to push Kafka's face away. Seriously, strongest kaiju in history was a light weight apparently.
"But what if it isn't?" Aoi suddenly spoke up. He had his usual stoic expression on but those who knew him could tell he was close to wasted.
Both men looked at him. "What do you mean?" Haruichi asked.
"What if because Kafka is a kaiju… he can't wear other kaiju?" Aoi said slowly.
His companions slowly processed his words and ended up still confused.
"That makes sense!" Hoshina suddenly spoke up, approaching the table.
"It does?" Kafka slurred out.
"If you think about it, you're the most powerful monster on Earth and you hide behind a disproportionately weaker kaiju turned into a suit," Okonogi joined him. "On some subconscious level your body must be rejecting it."
"Exactly that!" Hoshina nodded along.
"Huh." Kafka stared at his beer.
"I guess, if we could use something from your body… we could make you a fitting suit," Okonogi thought out loud.
The men exchanged a look. Immediately, Kafka had his kaiju arm on the table.
"Okay, just hold still, Hibino," Hoshina was already unsheathing his katana.
"Wait, whoa, hold on a second!!" Okonogi yelled.
"Cut it off!!" 10 yelled.
Haruichi and Aoi were on Kafka's side holding onto him just in case.
"Captain!" Okonogi called for Mina.
Captain Ashiro looked up from the next song selection and approached the group. "What's going on?"
"We're trying to get a sample of Kafka to see if we can make a suit for him and have his battle release force higher!" Hoshina explained.
"Oh, I see." Mina nodded in understanding.
Okonogi was about to sigh in relief to have someone take control of the officers but then Mina reached for her pistol. This time everyone jumped back.
"Captain?!"
"Whoa!"
"What?" Mina asked confused.
"We don't want Hibino to explode, Captain," Hoshina explained kindly, using 10's tail to take the gun away from her.
She sulked.
"Let's just get back to karaoke, Mina," Shinonome suggested gently dragging her away.
When she left everyone sighed with relief.
"Now, where were we?" Hoshina turned to the remaining officers. Everyone got into position again. "Suck it in, Hibino!" The blade reflected a spark of light as the Vice-Captain raised it up. "On three! One! Tw–"
Suddenly everything got covered in ice. "What the hell is going on, sir?!" Ichikawa appeared in the door way back from the toilet with Shinomiya behind him. "Are you all insane!?"
"Boo! Killjoy!" Iharu hollered, he was one of the few spared from the ice. Immediately, he got bonked in the head by one of Ichikawa's floating frost guns.
"I left for five minutes!" Reno scolded everyone.
"You tell him, Reno!" Kikoru joined in.
"This is so irresponsible! You have to first secure the limb before you cut it out so you don't bleed out!" The ice around people began to melt, while Reno encased Kafka's arm in ice. Appreciative chorus of 'ooohs' responded to him.
"Yea—, wait what?" Kikoru blinked confused. "WHAT?!"
Before she could give up a shadow loomed over her and then precise blows have been delivered to all by one and only Vice-Captain Hasegawa. Kikoru looked up at him. When did he—
Her eyes fell on Narumi who was holding his phone up, with a wide, shit-eating grin on his face. No doubt he recorded everything. He gave her a thumb-up.
She sighed. Adults were so stupid after alcohol. She swore she wouldn't be drinking any of it in the future. None.

DNI
The following blogs as well as others have been reported for stalking/sending asks despite being blocked/smearing us on there blogs/mocking our posts:
sassykinzonline • sasori-rp • shisui-uchiha-rp • itamis-multi-muses • kushina-uzumaki-rp • naruto-uzumaki-rp • naomi-the-scrivener
Blogs that consistently stalk the anon blogs and their respective other blogs, know the full details of our personal blogs, and bash us while making silly posts on "how to deal with hate comments" while openly smearing us for not wanting to role-play with them.
I advise caution when approaching those blogs as a few of my mates have seriously considered deleting their blogs thanks to them, and the Sasori-RP blog is very demanding. (A few of my mates were psychologically evaluated by Sasori-RP mod the first time they talked on discord, and Sasori-RP mod INSISTED my mates be seen by therapists after five minutes of discussion. It made them very wary of her from the start. Fugaku-Uchiha-Anon instantly blocked Shisui-Uchiha-RP because of demands, and he felt distinctly uneasy role-playing with this person) If you decide you do not want to continue to role-play with either of the above blogs due to feeling a strong sense of discomfort, you will be bashed publicly. I am amused they need to smear us because we were uncomfortable role-playing with them, matters tended to in private. No roleplay situation is a contract in blood. If at any time a roleplay situation becomes suffocating, there should be no pressure on anyone to continue. That was the situation with the above three users. We (especially a main anon blog) were feeling intense pressure to continue to roleplay with Sasori-RP and Itamis-Multi-Muses while feeling uneasy. There were asinine demands being made by them to live up to their standards and "" anon was on the brink of deleting her "" rp blog. "She" nearly did it, while dealing with a nervous breakdown. Her friends had to persuade her not to, and she took an extended break from her blog because she could not handle the above blogs' pressure and demands. I have heard of others blocking Sasori-RP and Itamis-multi-muses as well, for the same reasons (said in private). Many of you know what transpired on January 29, of the harassment and doxxing threats sent to a few of us. My mates have been forced to file police reports on the above users and others due to they still stalk us and bash us on their blogs. There is an ongoing police investigation. There are others who belong on this DNI list but currently they will be left out of my rules.
The above blogs are very aware of the fact that we do not want to have anything to do with them and we have requested them to STOP stalking us yet they persist. They blocked a couple of us recently, but they did NOT have us blocked previously. They still do not have a majority of us blocked. Recently we have reason to believe they sent us Asks, of an unfavorable nature.
Please try to understand. The above blogs' know about my mates' personal blogs. Blogs that are not advertised. They dug deep through our existing blogs to find out this information. And they made it known they know.
There are others who are connected to past dramas which we are also looking into.
Despite this post that @obitoanon has posted they persist in their stalking. We are waiting patiently for results with IP addresses from the police.

Ramblings and crazy theory time about GK chap 265 “Keyhole”
So Golden Kamuy is back with a chapter that really make me...
Tumblr media
...okay, I’m curious, very much so, really, I just can’t resist. I feel so called out watching Tsukishima and Koito trying to overhear what Tsurumi is going to say to Sofia and Asirpa...
Anyway, let’s start.
The covers shows us an image framed by a keyhole, a reference to the chapter’s title and to how some characters will spy from a keyhole and learn of Tsurumi’s past, because that’s what the image depicts, Tsurumi holding his baby while his wife hugs him from behind.
Tumblr media
Tsurumi is basically wrapped in love, it’s clear is wife loves him and the way the baby rests against him, while perfectly normal for a baby, seems almost to suggest the baby too is hugging him.
It kind of reminds me a painting from Gustav Klimt, of which is often shown only a part of it, a woman hugging a child, as if it was meant to represent motherly love . The full painting is actually called ‘The three ages of a woman’ and features three women in varying stages of age, symbolizing the cycle of life.
Tumblr media
This scene seems to leave out the old woman and paint Tsurumi in between the woman in the spring of her life, Fina, and at the beginning of it, Fina... but in a way symbolically Tsurumi can be ‘the old woman, which in the painting is in an aura by herself and with a desperate expression, who now gets finally included between the other two.
Tsurumi is the only one of the three who got to grow old and he’s clearly desperate for his loss. Sure, in the image he looks like his younger self, but the image is basically symbolizing how, through a keyhole, we’re looking at him talking about his past. The real Tsurumi that we would see if we were to look through the keyhole is older, alone and desperate... and in a way the younger Tsurumi shows a bit of this.
We can see the left corner of his mouth is up, but the same can’t be said for the right one. Even his eyebrows are slightly raised, in a bittersweet expression. This is not Hasegawa, this is Tsurumi remembering his beloved ones, this is Tsurumi remembering what being Hasegawa felt like, the joy of being with his family and the pain of having lost it.
But okay, enough with my speculations on the cover, let’s start with the story.
Kikuta, Tsukishima and Koito, who were sent out by Tsurumi with the excuse to check for the others discover that the soldiers who were on foot had reached the planned meeting spot but the same can’t be said for the three men on horseback (who were tailed by Hijikata).
Kikuta suggests to split and look for them, and Tsukishima tells Koito to stay there just in case the three of them will show up... which they won’t do as, below Tsukishima’s balloon we can see on image of the three of them lying on the ground, efficiently disposed off by Hijikata...
Tumblr media
...who, however, is starting to show signs of his age as he’s panting and has some blood on his face, a sign it wasn’t an easy battle. Hijikata, joined by Ariko and Kantarou, plans to search for the 7th in order to get Asirpa back.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Sofia’s men plan to search for her.
Now... let’s go back a moment.
Remember how Kikuta told Koito and Tsukishima they should split and search for the men and Tsukishima told Koito to remain behind?
Well, this caused the three of them to go for separate ways, unsupervised by each other.
Koito, who has noticed how Tsurumi has reacted seeing the photo Sofia had, feels curiosity bubbling inside him and decides to go back into the church from a side entrance so as to spy on Tsurumi’s conversation only to discover Tsukishima had anticipated him and is now trying to peep from the keyhole.
Basically that was why Tsukishima told Koito he should stay back, so that Koito wouldn’t go with him and Tsukishima could freely spy Tsurumi.
Honestly I wonder if Kikuta too is taking care of a personal business, maybe not spying Tsurumi as he might already know of Tsurumi’s family, but it would explain why he told the others to split and wanted to go search for the riders when it was safer to assume they were killed and just give up on them. Or maybe Kikuta is the only one who’s doing actual work.
We’ll see.
Anyway Koito and Tsukishima show their maturity by arguing, each saying the other is there to spy Tsurumi because they don’t believe in him.
Tumblr media
Koito though, tries to deny it, but Tsukishima, with a vein bulging as if he were quite angry, points out how Koito was now able to talk to Tsurumi normally...
Tumblr media
and how this might be a sign that a distance grew between them in his heart. So okay, pot, I present you a kettle in denial. You do your best trying not to be a pot in denial as well.
Tumblr media
Anyway Koito has no words to counter but, in that moment, they hear Tsurumi telling Nikaidou to go stand outside and keep everyone else away from the church then, as soon as Koito is out, Tsurumi checks the church AGAIN for intruders, forcing Tsukishima and Koito to comically hide under the desk, making really clear he doesn’t want anyone to hear the discussion he’ll have with Sofia.
Tumblr media
I should probably mention Tsurumi’s face is always kept heavily shadowed... but if this is to keep his expression in the dark or Noda actually plans to redraw it for the volume version... well, this is up to speculation.
We’ve a flashback then, showing how Sofia, before exiting from Hasegawa’s house, spotted the photo of herself, Kiro and Wilk about to be burned and retrieved it. That’s why she still had it.
As the flashback ends Sofia wakes up to see Tsurumi seated on what seems to look like a clergy throne. She realizes her hands are tied (and she seems to hold something in her hand but maybe it’s just me)...
Tumblr media
...and then notices Asirpa gagged next to her.
Tsurumi stands and removes Asirpa’s gag, warning her though to keep silent as he would prefer not to treat her roughly if he can help it.
We can see the gag, which was nothing else but her matanpushi, had left marks on Asirpa’s face as Tsurumi, who had placed it back around Asirpa’s forehead says it suits the brave and beloved child of the Ainu.
Overall Tsurumi seems gentle with Asirpa... if this is because she’s a child and it reminds him of his daughter (it’s an effect she had on Nihei as well) or he’s just pretending to win her favour... well, this is something we’ll discover in the future.
Tsurumi then comments he’s glad they could meet it again and the visual in this is very interesting as we basically see only his eyes since the lower part of his face is completely blackened and what little we can see of the upper part is covered in swirling lines that seems to hint to an emotional storm.
Tumblr media
Giving his back to Sofia he also says he’s glad he could met her again which causes Sofia to ask him who’s him.
Tsurumi comments it’s no surprise she couldn’t recognize him as they had both changed and their previous meeting took place 18 years ago.
I’m a bit confused by this.
The official timeline says they met in 1891. 1891+18=1909
However the story started, always according to the official timeline, in 1907 and, supposedly, only one year went by, placing us in 1908. Have we... lost a year somehow?
Whatever, Tsurumi calls Sofia ‘Zoya’, showing her the photo but it still doesn’t ring any bell in Sofia. However, when he asks her if she has forgotten about his family too, commenting all their photo were burned that day and all that remains to prove they were alive are their finger bones. As he says so he shows two bones, one clearly belonging to Fina and the other so small it should have belonged to Olga.
Tumblr media
As he mentions their names the visual shows how Tsukishima, who’s eavesdropping outside, connects them with the finger bones he saw in Tsurumi’s possession.
Those names ring a strong bell in Sofia as, with a shocked expression and panting (we can see the small clouds her breathing made around her, signifying she’s panting) she recognized him for Hasegawa-san.
Tumblr media
It’s worth to remember Sofia always felt an intense guilt for Fina and Olga’s death, so her reaction is completely understandable. Those deaths in a way changed her life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsurumi’s brain leaks as he thanks her for remembering them.
‘Oboete ite kurete arigatō’
憶えていてくれてありがとう
“Thank you for remembering”
Tumblr media
Asirpa knows Hasegawa’s story as she was told about it by Kiro. Her interest though is for the people in the story as she asks Sofia if that picture portrays her father and Kiroranke and if it was taken in Russia.
Sofia seems still shocked and doesn’t reply.
Tumblr media
Koito, hearing this, is surprised Tsurumi had a wife and a daughter. Tsukishima’s veins are popping out as if angry as he makes a sound of disbelief (はあ ‘haa?’) in a strained font.
He doesn’t seem positively impressed Tsurumi too had a past life and people he cared who might have influenced his choices. He possibly might have wanted Tsurumi to be solely attached and devoted to his men.
Tsurumi goes on, claiming after Kiro died they found some letters in his belonging, letters that he received from Sofia when they were writing each other while Sofia was in Akou prison.
Tsurumi suggests he and Sofia should join their knowledge together and tell Asirpa everything about who killed the Ainu and why Wilk had to die so as to taka away Asirpa’s ‘itami’ [傷み “Pain, grief, distress, damage”]. ‘Itami’ is actually in between brackets.
Tumblr media
As he says so we see an image of Asirpa with a serious expression and an adult look.
It’s not the first time that, when the situation is serious, Noda depicts Asirpa as if she were older, her eyes slightly squeezed so as to take away the roundness that makes them look like the eyes of a child and her lips shadowed as if she were to wear lipstick.
And it’s such a sharp contrast with his words because the child he’s talking about doesn’t look like a child anymore because she’s forced in a situation that’s not fitting of a child and she will likely required to show a maturity a child normally doesn’t possess.
On a sidenote, as said before, Tsurumi has acted polite and ‘kind’ with Asirpa so far, but there’s to keep in mind in the volume version of chap 211 there was the implication Tsurumi came to believe it was Wilk who shot his wife and daughter.
Tumblr media
Does he wants revenge on Wilk through Asirpa?
It doesn’t mean he necessarily have to want to kill Asirpa, he might want to ‘destroy’ Wilk as a father figure in her eyes and then take her as a replacement daughter. Wilk took his own child away so Tsurumi might take Asirpa in exchange.
And this might gain him Asirpa’s cooperation. Though, considering he planned to jail her in such a terrible place always in the volume version of chap 211, I really fear he doesn’t have nice intentions toward her.
Tumblr media
I really, really hope things will go well for Asirpa, I don’t want her to be hurt... but I’ve to admit I’m also really, really, REALLY curious to hear what happened... hoping it’ll be the truth and not the result of Tsurumi manipulating information.
We’ll see.
It’s interesting Tsurumi said he and Sofia has to piece together what they know... as if he doesn’t have all the answers... which might mean he’s either lying or he wasn’t there when the Ainu were murdered.
I’ve always wondered, honestly. Murdering everyone wouldn’t get him any close to the gold, so it seemed weird he could have ordered to kill those Ainu. At the same time, unless Wilk chopped everyone down to disguise himself among the corpses, the damage done to them seemed the one that would be caused by an explosion.
We know Wilk didn’t do it and I honestly can’t think of Kiro doing it considering how reluctant he is at killing Ainu.
Did Tsurumi men attempted on doing something without him being present and things went wrong and everyone died but this caused Tsurumi not to know what happened?
I’ve always wondered if Ogata knew more than he let out... but he could have discovered things from either Kiro or Tsurumi so this isn’t telling us much.
Can it be that something happened that wasn’t caused by either Tsurumi or Wilk or Kiro, like other Ainu getting involved, fearing Wilk and the others would cause a war?
I’ve always liked to suspect Asirpa’s uncle but, of course, who knows?
Really, I can’t wait to know the truth!
...on a sidenote I wouldn't be surprised if Noda were to decide to keep us on hold a little longer and show us, in the next chapter, what's doing Sugimoto, or Ogata, or Hijikata. We'll see.
On another sidenote... even though I fear Tsurumi might hurt Asirpa... I feel really bad for him in this chapter. The pain for losing Fina and Olga should have been terrible, him being the only one to remember about their existence. In a way it should feel like a relief to get to meet Sofia, someone else who knew them and cared enough to keep on remembering them. ;_;

Ice Sword Training [Sakurai & Itami] @cloudykoya
cloudykoya asked // Sep 15 · 11 days ago
Looking at Sakurai “ are you really that dumb to go into the throne room without knowing how to use that sword “ Itami said looking at him .
Tumblr media
“This sword was given to me by Ember’s uncle, and I intend to save her with it, but…” Sakurai replied, determined but Itami was right. He was struggling with holding the sword after using it to take down some soldiers on the way, made from Ice Dragon lacrima from Kaito, it was now so unstable it was even freezing up his arm.
“Ice and fire are the elemental weaknesses to my planet magic, somehow I had better control of it when my father brainwashed me with his magic,” he admitted with a sigh. His father King Asterius had used his Machine Supremacy Magic to turn him into a perfect solder, he was able to take back control by healing the affected area of nanobots in his brain with his old memories brought back to him by fighting his best friend Kazuto.
“Itami, I need you to help me control this power with your own, please spar with me!” Sakurai requested of his sister. While she was created by their father as another backup heir, her heart was also pure like his, he needed her help as an ally. Anything to help him save Ember later, even if he had to train for now.

"Look, I said I made a bet that I can't pay so I need you to bring as much yen as you can!" Osomatsu cast a despairing glance over his shoulder, gripping on tight to the phone cord in hand. The two men who eyed him from the table where he had been allowed away from to make his call were yet vigilant, their gazes not having once shifted from the red clad NEET.
It was just another day at pachinko-
-or it was meant to be, at the very least.
There was a slight pause on the other end of the phone and Karamatsu responded as though in confusion.
"I'm afraid I cannot be of much help in this regard, Osomatsu. The least I can do is hang up*."
The first born all but fell back. "Wh- wait, don't-!" Too late, the line was cut off and he was left to the mercies of the casino guards and its owner who looked him over.
"Does your brother not have enough either?" The slightly taller, far more intimidating Karamatsu look alike seemingly leered and Osomatsu paled.
"N-No way, he's got tons more than me-! I just need to get the bastard to lend me some, that's all!" The first born searched his pockets before jamming a few yen coins in the telephone box and tightened his grip on the plastic receiver still in hand, punching in the numbers before managing to flash a wink and the money sign with his free one as a show of further reassurance. "Once I explain things properly, he'll come over for sure!"
The Karamatsu look-alike simply smiled, eyes alight with amusement. "I do hope so, your sake." Osomatsu grew faint and had nearly forgotten to reply when the line was picked up on the other end.
"Good afternoon, this is-"
"Ah- Karamatsu! Listen, you've got to help me out here-!"
"Osomatsu? I thought you said you couldn't pay...?"
The first born forced a laugh as the "other" Karamatsu drew nearer, the two guards following suit as they listened in on the call. "A-About that, you must have heard it wrong. I said-"
"I'm sorry, it's quite loud where you are. Call back when you're in a quieter space."
"Can't really do that right now- wait, don't hang up!"
There was a pause on the other end and Osomatsu stood, nearly frozen as he awaited what felt to be the inevitable click of the receiver. None came, and the eldest all but collapsed when the second born's
voice came through again. "... Is everything alright Osomatsu? It isn't like you to be so out of countenance." The first born internally wept with relief and he forced a grin.
"Didn't get that last part, but no. Nothing is alright right now! I'm seriously troubled Karamatsu, and there's nothing I can do over here-!"
The second born gave a contemplative hum before duly responding. "Well, why don't you try to calm down for one? Screaming on in such a manner is quite unbecoming, especially when one is in full view of the public."
Osomatsu blinked before raking a hand through his hair. "Ugh, I don't have time for your painful bullshit right now! I need you to be serious for once-!"
"Eh- I wasn't- I was being serious for once, Osomatsu!" Karamatsu frowned despite knowing he couldn't be seen. "You sounded as though you were in much distress*, so I thought it would be best to settle your nerves first before we can properly talk!"
"I am in distress*!! Karamatsu, you don't get it- I'm going to die if I can't pay off this bet!"
"And I told you before that I can just h-"
"Don't hang up the phone!!"
Osomatsu was on his knees now, gripping onto the carpet with his free hand. "You- okay, fine, be painful, whatever- just- just help me!"
"Ah- I understand now!"
The first born shot upright, eyes bright as he grinned and held tight to the receiver. "You do?!"
Karamatsu nodded before affirming with a smile of his own. "Yes! Wait for a moment Osomatsu, I'll be back soon with Iyami*!"
This time Osomatsu really did fall back, the execution of the Showa move and its quick recovery shocking all those around him. "No, that's not what I said-!"
"Then what did you say?!"
Karamatsu narrowed his eyes, annoyed by the others "antics". "Explain it to me properly Osomatsu, otherwise I can't be of any help!"
"Why are you getting upset?! I'm the one who should! My life is on the line*, Karamatsu, I told you-!"
"Then leave it, Osomatsu*! I don't know what more you want me to say to that!"
"For the love of- that's not what I meant, you idiot!"
The two paused, seething on their ends. Karamatsu recollected himself as he leaned back against the wall of the hallway, repressing a sigh. "... Osomatsu," He started again, voice calm despite his irritation. "I believe I stated this before, but it would be to both of our benefit if you could call from a quieter place."
The first born groaned, shaking his head. "And I told you that I can't- I'm stuck* here Karamatsu, there's nowhere else I can go."
"Just run* if you're in such a hurry then..."
"What part of 'I'm stuck here' do you not understand?!"
There was another pause, and Osomatsu sent out a fervent prayer that the other would at last catch on-
-however his next words proved that it would be far from such a prospect, much to the first born's chagrin and mounting despair.
"W-Wait, Osomatsu, y-you're not...?"
"Yeah," The eldest deadpanned, rubbing his eyelids as he stated for the fourth time. "I'm going to die over here if I don't get help real soon."
"Why didn't you say so in the beginning-?! Where are you, Osomatsu?!"
The near shriek forced a wince from the first born and he grimaced as he drew the phone back from his ear, shaken from his fleetingly apathetic state. "I did say it, from the very start-! Nevermind that, just get over to the new pachinko place that opened up a week ago with as much yen as you can!"
There was a rustling of what appeared to be paper on the other end of the line and Osomatsu repressed a sigh as he awaited the second born's response. The Karamatsu look alike and his guards who the eldest has until now forgotten were standing nearby at last made to address him again, the "other" Karamatsu unable to hide his amusement from such an animated exchange.
"I suppose he must be coming after all?"
Osomatsu gave a start before he turned to the other, plastering on a brilliant smile. "You bet he is! After hearing all of this, there's no way he won't." As if in confirmation, the second born's voice came through again and the eldest beamed in relief.
"Forgive me for taking my leave of you, but I'm back now."
"It's fine, it's fine. Did you get the yen yet?"
"About that..." Karamatsu lowered his voice and the first born strained to hear him over the ongoing din. "Osomatsu, are you still within the casino?"
Osomatsu repressed the urge to roll his eyes, affirming once again. "Like I said, it's not as if I can leave!"
A pause- then...
"Alright, well, do not panic if the one or ones who have assailed you are yet within your presence, for earlier I have hurried off to make a call with Todomatsu's phone. The police will be arriving there shortly-"
Osomatsu's eyebrows nearly shot up to his hairline. "The what?!"
"Osomatsu, you don't understand the gravity of your situation-"
"No, no, no, I do know that very well, thank you very much-!" The first born crouched down to the floor, hissing as he covered the receiver. "Karamatsu, are you crazy?! You're the one who doesn't understand! I told you, just bring the yen! That's all I need, not the police-!"
The second eldest nodded though declined, much to the others distress. "It appears as though you have managed to entrap yourself within the company of a notorious criminal group, the likes of which have recently attempted to take root here in the city not too long ago. They're from overseas, and the police has been steadily attempting to find their location- and it is only through this call that they were able to do so now." Osomatsu paused again, eyes widening as he took in the full extent of the others words.
"What, you mean... This is an illegal pachinko parlor run by a mafia gang or something?!"
"Yes, I have had it affirmed so." Karamatsu's confirmation was grave though his voice softened a bit. "Worry not, I have seen to it that the utmost care will be taken in transporting you out of there. I informed our brothers and we will soon be making haste to the hospital nearest your location to await your arrival."
Osomatsu blinked, taken aback. "Wait, hospi- Karamatsu, I'm not actually physically dying! That was just me being over dramatic!"
"Y-You sounded so certain of it, though..."
"Please don't tell me there's an ambulance on the way."
"... It's a bit late to call it off..."
Osomatsu slapped a hand over his face, giving an exhausted sigh. "... What did you tell them...?"
Karamatsu milled for a moment in silence, quietly twining the telephone cord round his finger. "That you were in dire agony from having been apparently impaled somewhere as you had asserted multiple times that you were in fear of dying... I took that to mean you were fearful of the blood loss which had ensued from such an attack, and reported it as such..."
"So you said I was stabbed and bleeding out, then..."
"That is what I said..."
"... and the police and ambulance are on the way here."
"Yes..."
"... and those guys know I took all their money and lost it to a foreign criminal gang and they'll never see it again."
"Correct..."
"... Karamatsu, give me one moment."
Osomatsu set the phone down atop the telephone box and turned to the Karamatsu look alike, eyes grimly set. The change in demeanor took the other aback for a second before he regained his even expression, gaze cool as he gave an unassuming smile. "Yes?"
"Can I see your knife?"
The "other" Karamatsu blinked, gaze hardening at once. "If you mean to try anything, I would heavily advise against it..." Osomatsu was not to be deterred.
"I'm not. I just want to see it for a bit."
The two guards shared a puzzled glance with each other as the Karamatsu-look alike considered the NEET's request before nodding in agreement, if only out of due curiosity. "Very well." He soon had it extricated and held out towards the first born who accepted it and steeled himself as he rested his palm upon the counter-
-before bringing the blade down upon the center of his hand.
A strangled shout escaped him as his grip loosened on the handle and it took a second before the guards were in an uproar around him, the Karamatsu look alike at first unable to do little more than gaze with widened eyes until he was forced from his reverie when another cry was elicited from the NEET as one of the guards wrested the knife free from the first born's hand.
"You- just what were you thinking?!" The "other" Karamatsu failed to mask his shock and Osomatsu merely grit his teeth as he winced, allowing the other guard to drag him back from the counter and haul him to his feet, spilling crimson from the marble onto the carpeted floor. Once he recovered enough however and the burn in his hand gradually began to subside to a dull ache, Osomatsu managed a weak grin much to the incredulousness of the others.
"D-Do I still owe you?"
He was met with stunned silence from all around and the guard who yet held to him released his grip, allowing the first born to lean against the counter as the trio contemplated his fate. At last after what was a seemingly interminable amount of time, the "other" Karamatsu gave a confused nod, looking the first born over with no less incredulity than he did prior. "Er, no... No, you do not. Did you imagine I meant for any physical harm to be done to you had you not any means by which to pay me...?" Osomatsu managed a chuckle, albeit a weak one.
"Too many words..." The Karamatsu look-alike made no comment, reiterating in a manner he believed to be concise.
"Did you do yourself bodily harm under the belief that you could avoid such a thing being done by our own hands?"
"Still too many words- but yeah, sort of."
Osomatsu was quick to add upon seeing the other frown, plastering on a grin. "Uh, hey so- does this mean I'm off the hook then? Can I go home now?" The Karamatsu look-alike glanced over at his two guards and gave them a curt nod, dismissing them. Osomatsu leaned fully into the counter to keep from sinking onto the floor with relief as the pair departed and the "other" Karamatsu studied him for a bit, not yet moving away himself. The first born met his gaze and shifted a bit after a while, grin slipping with nervosity which was barely masked in his voice. "You still need something?" He cast a brief glance at his injured hand, allowing another weak chuckle to escape him though his countenance paled. "Do I need to uh, do it again or-"
"No, no, that will not be necessary!" The Karamatsu look-alike cut in before he heard the others inquiry in full, shaking his hands and his head as though willing the first born to desist in mid-attempt. Osomatsu blinked, taken aback upon hearing the other decline- before his eyes widened with mortified horror upon hearing his next words.
"It was far from it to begin with- never once did I have it in mind to do you any harm-!"
It was in this moment, before the first born could even attempt to respond, that the front doors of the casino were flung open with a slam and a swarm of policemen flooded the floor, attempting to overtake the guards which braced against the attack before launching into the offense of their own accord. The last that Osomatsu could recall before his vision faded to black from the blood yet spilling from his unstaunched wound and his shock from the complete lack of necessity of his attaining of it was a pair of paramedics who managed to reach him amongst the tumult and made haste to borne him away as the world slipped entirely from view.
"It sounds like it took forever for to calm them down..."
"That is to be expected, of course. We were all under the impression that your life was in grave danger."
The first born cast the second eldest a distraught look and Karamatsu paused, appearing uncertain for a moment. "Yes? What is it that yet ails you, Osom-
"I- I didn't have to stab my hand."
The statement all but sent the other reeling back and Karamatsu gripped onto the hospital railing for purchase, eyes impossibly wide. "Y-You what? We were under the impression that that was- Osomatsu, you- why would you ever even deign to do such a thing?!" The first born glanced away edgewise, brushing a finger under his nose as he offered by way of explanation.
"Well, y'know how you said you called the police and the ambulance was coming and all? I figured that I'll try my luck in getting out of there alive by..."
"... By stabbing yourself." Karamatsu completed his sentence for him, both horrified and incredulous. Osomatsu nodded, concluding swiftly.
"Yeah. See, the thing I didn't know though was that the guy who runs the place- and sort of looks like you by the way, don't ask me why- apparently wasn't planning on doing anything at all?"
Karamatsu mulled over his words, shaking his head as he mumbled. "In other words, you went to such an extent that even he in all probability had not surmised, thus rendering you being interred in this hospital with an actual injury to tend which could have been prevented from being obtained had you but made to inquire as to what your fate would have been before proceeding to go forth with impaling yourself."
"Didn't get all of that, but yeah! That's pretty much what happened."
Osomatsu grinned, rubbing a finger under his nose. "The good news though is that those guys probably feel bad and won't try to kill me for a while!" The second born repressed a sigh, shaking his head.
"How have you been able to last throughout the multiple tribulations of life until this present moment, Osomatsu...?"
"Hey, that goes for all of us y'know?! Especially you!"
"Heh... So you say, but you-"
"Karamatsu you've fallen off the roof more times than I've been unable to pay you guys back, and that's been more times than I can count." Osomatsu deadpanned and the second born flushed, frowning.
"That is not entirely true-"
"It is! Just the other day, you-"
"You steal our money nearly every instance you get-"
"-and we almost decided to board up the-"
"-not to mention failing also to properly explain-"
"-just to keep you from-"
"-were lucky that it was me who answered the phone-!"
"Can you two be any louder?!"
The pair fell silent at once as the door was slammed open, revealing the third born who stood there, hissing. "We can hear everything from the hall! There are other patients here too and some of them are trying to sleep!" The eldest pair winced, lowering their gazes to the floor as Osomatsu rubbed the back of his head with his uninjured hand and Karamatsu leaned against the wall where he stood, crossing his arms. Choromatsu's gaze softened once the duo had calmed and made his way over to the side of the hospital bed, looking the first born's bandaged hand over with evident worry. "How do you feel, Osomatsu-niisan? Did they-" He reached forth, pausing as though reconsidering before laying a tentative hand upon the others arm in all manners of gentleness, much to the first born's surprise. "You weren't hurt anywhere else...?" Osomatsu blinked before flashing the third born a bright grin.
"Nah, I'm fine Choromatsu! You should've seen the fight I gave 'em though, I knocked the guy around everywhere but he still got me in the end! Talk about lousy luck, right?" The third eldest cast a furtive glance up at Karamatsu who casually made to avert his gaze by studying the window blinds before Choromatsu turned back to the first born, frowning. "They- the doctors said the knife was poisoned, Osomatsu-niisan."
This elicited a screech from the eldest who nearly fell faint again. "It was what?!" Karamatsu turned back at once and strode over to the other side of the hospital bed, ashen.
"D-Does that mean he could've truly...?"
Choromatsu nodded, attempting to appear grim though the watering of his eyes had blatantly shown otherwise. "I-I didn't tell the others since they wouldn't be able to handle it. They cried so much already, s-so... "
And it was at this that Osomatsu panicked, heart sinking with remorse as he flailed and did his utmost best to reassure his two younger brothers who were both in tears now, forcing a wide smile as he gazed between them both helplessly. "A-Ah, it's alright now you guys! See? I'm just fine!" Osomatsu flashed the pair a grin in turn as he did his utmost best to assure them as the younger two gazed at him, downright distraught- and soon the first born's eyes were filling up with tears at this as his own expression fell, the pair all but entangling themselves in each others arms as they latched on and sobbed against him.
"Stupid Aniki-!"
"Y-You shitty e-eldest...!"
And Osomatsu, who had nearly as much cause if not more to fall apart as well began wailing right along with them soon after, doing his utmost best to cling onto them both.
"G-Guys, I'm so sorrry-!"
"... Ah!- I forgot to inform that young man who stabbed himself in my casino that the knife he used was dipped in poison-!"
-.
-.
Casino Karamatsu leapt up and sped out the door of the office he was in, much to the surprise of its one other inhabitant who bolted upright in his chair from where he was resting half-asleep with his arms folded atop his desk, sending papers scattering everywhere as the announcement jolted him from his reverie. "A man who what...?" Casino Osomatsu yawned, blinking as he gazed at the papers fluttering back down to his desk before his senses sharpened- and he all but flung himself off his chair and hastened out the door, calling after his subordinate who had already disappeared from sight.
"Wait, we already left the- we have guys who can do that! Don't- The water's too deep- Karamatsu-!!"
    -. -.
"Dear young man who courageously though needlessly mutilated himself in my casino..."
The paper was torn to shreds as Osomatsu did his utmost best to reign in a scream, scattering the former letter to the wind. "That's something you should have said the second after I stabbed myself, not three days later-!!"

👀 (your blackjack Itachi for my Izumi, please~!🥹❤️)
Itachi smiled, the tear troughs below his eyes shifting a little. "Oh! Izumi-san." He carefully put down the little metal watering can, cheerfully decorated with a smiling sun. The sun caught him in a sunbeam of warm gold, giving him an unfair amount of domestic charm. Absently petting the plush leaves of the potted white windrose he began to speak again. "Izumi is a dear friend of mine, and yes, I believe she is rather cute. Her smile lifts all the spirits of her company, just like Shisui's. I hope she's having a good day. The weather's so nice in Konoha, I was thinking of taking a walk..."

I wanna say that he had a bunch of injuries that kept him from getting momentum? It could've been something else but I remember he was constantly hurt
i’d argue he’s wrestling a rougher style in japan than the WWE, the only thing i can think on with WWE is that he took more time to learn promos/travel rather than actually wrestle? either way, not a scooby.

Butterfly [51]
summary Do it yourself
“Man, can’t believe the school year’s almost over. We should go on a trip during the break,” Shikamaru declared, crossing his arms behind his head. He flopped onto his back, stretching his legs out.
“Where were you thinking, Nara-sensei?” asked Itachi, looking up from his sketchbook. Kiba lowered his phone to peek at them, listening in on the conversation.
“Dunno.... maybe Hakone? An onsen sounds nice,” mused Shikamaru. Kiba grimaced. He aimed a kick at Shikamaru’s thigh.
“We’ve got a million hot springs around here. Yufuin is like... 40 minutes away. Why would I go all the way up to Hakone?” retorted Kiba. Itachi wasn’t as violent in his protest, but he nodded as Kiba spoke.
“I bet Haruno would want to go,” grumbled Shikamaru.
“I bet she’d call you an idiot too,” snorted Kiba.
And then, at the same time, they turned in the direction of the door to yell: “HARUNO!”
Sakura appeared in the doorway, a cardboard box on her hip.
“Either way, I can’t go. I’m busy during spring break,” she told them.
Kiba and Shikamaru snuck glances at Itachi, hopeful smiles stretching their mouths. But their expressions fell when they saw the bewilderment in his face. Shikamaru very carefully nudged Itachi’s back with his foot.
“What are your plans, Haruno-sensei?” Itachi questioned. Sakura reached into the box to pull out a poster. It was light blue with glittering snowflakes creating a frame. In the middle was a bejeweled ice skate.
“Stars on Ice Japan Tour 2018,” Itachi read the English, squinting a little without his glasses.
“I’ll be in Osaka and then Yokohama,” she added.
“You weren’t going to tell us?” asked Shikamaru, reading the dates. She would be gone for all of spring break. Sakura lowered the poster, eyebrows rising.
“I just did,” she replied. “Weirdo.”
Kiba made a face at her back as she turned around to head back into the house.
“She’s always doing this,” sighed Shikamaru.
“Yeah. One day she was all-” Kiba raised his phone to his ear. “Hey. I’m getting married. Lol.” He mocked her in a high-pitched voice.
“I can hear you!” Sakura called from inside.
“Good! I hate you!” Kiba shouted in response. Kiba and Shikamaru exchanged a long look. Then, sighing, Kiba sat up to clap his hand on Itachi’s shoulder.
“Alright, Uchiha-sensei. We’re in crisis mode,” he whispered.
“Crisis mode?” repeated Itachi. Kiba shushed him. Itachi looked to Shikamaru. But Shikamaru was sitting up too, his expression weary as he nodded along.
“You gotta pick up the pace, man. Especially if she’s going to be seeing all those skaters,” Kiba hissed. When Itachi gave him a blank look, Kiba huffed. He typed something into his phone before throwing it at him.
Itachi barely managed to catch it by the tips of his fingers. It was open to an image search.
“Look! Look at how buff all those skaters are! And it’s, like, statistically improbable how good-looking each one is!” Kiba whispered loudly, casting nervous looks over his shoulder. Like Sakura would be hovering over him, listening in. Itachi lowered the phone. Shikamaru was nodding.
“They’re all hot,” he agreed in a low voice. He flexed his arm, giving Itachi a pointed look. Itachi glanced at his own arm, then at the phone. Then back up at Shikamaru and Kiba. Who were staring holes into him.
“Um.”
Itachi typed a few words into Kiba’s phone. He looked up the website. And then he held it up for his friends to see.
“All the tickets are sold out. For every show,” he told them.
“Guess I’ll die, then,” declared Shikamaru, falling onto his back again.
Yoshino held out a paper bag. Sakura peered inside. There were pocket warmers and energy drinks.
"Take care of yourself, Sakura-chan. I wish you weren’t going alone," Yoshino fretted.
"Let me give you some spending money. Buy yourself a nice dinner," Shikaku declared, digging in his back pocket for his wallet. Shikamaru grabbed his father’s arm.
“Mom, Dad, you don’t have to do this every time. She’s not a kid,” sighed Shikamaru. Yoshino reached out to rub her hands up and down Sakura’s arms.
“I know. I know. It’s just... well, you understand me, right, Sakura-chan?” Yoshino said. Sakura smiled.
“I get it. Thank you, Oba-san, Oji-san.”
Sighing, Yoshino pulled Sakura in for a hug, stroking Sakura’s back. “Why couldn’t we have had a beautiful, sweet daughter like you instead of that rude son?”
“Hey!”
The flight to Osaka was short. By the time the attendants served drinks, it was time to begin the descent into Itami Airport. Haku met her at arrivals, bouncing from foot to foot as she dragged her suitcase behind her. He pulled his black mask down to reveal his grin.
“Hey,” Sakura greeted him, throwing her arms around him. He squeezed back just as hard. But she felt something hard against his chest. She pulled away, already glaring at him.
“Are you-?”
She didn’t even get a chance to finish the question. Because Haku reached into the front of his jacket. He hooked his thumb into the ribbon and pulled out the gold medal he had won at Worlds. He waved it back and forth like a pendulum.
“You seriously wore that all the way here?” she demanded.
Haku nodded. He let it drop back under his shirt. Sighing, she reached out to ruffle his hair.
“You’re unbelievable,” she declared.
“Yeah, I know,” he retorted.
They had lunch together, Haku talking a mile a minute as he caught her up on everything. She had missed the first couple days of rehearsal because of work. Sakura knew that Tsunade would have excused her without hesitation. But it felt wrong to be missing so many days, especially since it would be the last few days she would see the seniors. So she had stuck around until the last day of the spring semester and even attended graduation before taking the next flight up to Osaka.
“I can’t believe Karin-chan’s retiring. I feel old!” Haku groaned, reaching for her plate. Sakura pushed it over to him so that he could steal the last of her salad. She slapped his fingers away when he began reaching for her cookie, though.
“Okay. Anyone I should keep an eye out for?” she asked. Haku gave her puppy dog eyes when she opened the plastic and tore off a hunk of her cookie. She didn’t offer him a crumb. He made a face. Crossing his arms, he rested his elbows on the plastic table.
“Nah, not really. Everyone seems pretty cool,” he replied.
They hung out for a little while longer. They made a little detour to visit Kobe Harborland. They took a couple selfies in front of the ferris wheel, which Haku spent the taxi ride editing and filtering to look just right.
When they arrived at the arena they ran into one of the other skaters in the parking lot. She hugged Sakura, chattering nonstop about how nice it was to see her. This continued on as they entered the lobby. They flashed their ID at security, who pointed them in the direction of the locker room. Sakura waved at Haku as they parted between the men’s and women’s locker rooms.
The one-sided conversation stopped short when Karin spotted them. She pounced, grabbing Sakura in a hug. She kissed each of Sakura’s cheeks, leaving lipstick marks.
“Прости,” Karin apologized as she rubbed at the red with the edge of her sleeve.
“That’s okay, Karin-chan. It’s good to see you too,” laughed Sakura.
Stars on Ice had reached out to Sakura many times throughout her career. It had surprised her when they had contacted her again this year. After all, there were dozens of young skaters who were in the spotlight now. Why reach out to someone who had retired? And rejected them dozens of times before?
But they had been thrilled to have her. And as one of the staff members gave her the rundown, Sakura was surprised by the amount of freedom she was given with her programs. As soon as the meeting was over, someone dashed across the rink toward her. She barely recognized Mangetsu before he collided with her.
“Hi!” she exclaimed as he squeezed her in one arm and Haku in the other.
“Get off me, you old fart!” Haku snapped, shoving him away. And then he struggled to pry his arm off of Sakura.
“Relax, Shimizu. We were friends first, right?” Mangetsu goaded him.
“Hi, Hozuki-kun,” Sakura laughed. She threw her arms around Haku, squeezing him against her chest.
“Don’t be jealous, little Haku-chan,” she teased in a baby voice.
“The both of you suck. Lemme go!” snarled Haku, flailing his arms around. But Sakura held tight. And Mangetsu held onto the both of them, cackling as Haku began spewing profanities.
Sakura showed off the new choreography to Karin. But as she did a triple-salchow, she miscalculated the distance and botched her landing. She skidded on the ice, giggling as she rolled onto her side.
“You okay, Haruno?” called Karin.
“My butt!” groaned Sakura, still laughing.
Mangetsu did a wide loop around her, waiting for her to get to her feet. But when Sakura held out her hand, he drew closer. He grasped her outstretched hand and pulled her to her feet. Once she was steady, he swung her in a circle around him. She released his hand, grabbing the opposite one as she completed the loop.
Mangetsu pulled her in closer, but she pushed off his chest, rolling her eyes at him.
“Maybe we should’ve done pairs,” he suggested, releasing her hand.
“No way. We would’ve killed each other,” she pointed out.
“You’re right,” he conceded, chuckling. "But you’re tiny. I bet I could lift you easy.”
A look crossed Sakura’s face as she considered that. She tilted her head a little. Skates slowing, she looked in Karin’s direction. The redhead was by the edge of the rink, chatting with Suigetsu and one of the Chinese skaters. She had mentioned on more than one occasion that sometimes Suigetsu would lift her. And then they would joke about having her replace his ice dance partner.
“Wait, let’s try it,” Sakura suggested. She held out her hands. Mangetsu grabbed them, lacing their fingers together.
“Alright. On the count of three,” he told her.
Everyone turned to watch as Mangetsu lifted Sakura into the air, his arms shaking a little. But as her elbows locked, Sakura found herself held rather securely in a press lift.
“Am I heavy?” she called down to him, core and back muscles tight as she tried to keep steady.
“Not really,” Mangetsu replied.
“Wait, how do I get down?” Sakura then wondered, realizing that the rink was suddenly a couple meters away from her feet. She began giggling, and so did Mangetsu. Their arms began shaking from the movement.
“Help!” she laughed.
Haku and Suigetsu glided over. Suigetsu said something to his older brother while Haku approached Sakura. As Mangetsu began easing his arms down, Haku wrapped his arms around Sakura’s legs. She tried to stop laughing at how ridiculous the situation had become. She sagged against Haku when her blades finally touched the ice.
“This is like how cats climb up into trees and can’t get down,” Haku remarked.
Sakura turned, already lunging from him. But Haku had read her body language and began skating away. She hurried after him, arms pumping at her sides. When she finally seized his shoulders from behind, he kept going, dragging her along after him.
“Conga line!” Sakura announced. Karin caught up to them, grasping Sakura’s shoulders. When a fourth skater joined in, he threw them off balance, sending them tumbling onto the ice. Sakura sat there, laughing and laughing until her stomach hurt. Haku laughed right along with her, barely protesting when she slapped his arm a couple times.
“Feeling nervous?” Karin asked as she fixed the buttons of Sakura’s costume that Saturday afternoon.
“A little. But also no,” replied Sakura.
“I heard the tickets sold out right away when people found out that you were joining the line-up,” Karin teased just a little. And Sakura looked over her shoulder at her. Karin stuck out her tongue before she gave Sakura a light slap on her back. Her costume was all secured.
They could hear string music playing as the introduction video played on the big screens. She and Karin made their way into the tunnel. It led straight out onto the ice. And in the darkness, she could make out the packed stands. Black silhouettes crowding together.
One by one, they played a short clip for each performer. And then they would do a short lap around the rink before heading back out, just to whet the appetites of the audience.
A staff member with a clipboard tapped her on the arm, urging her forward.
The ice was dark as she skated out of the tunnel. She could hear the whispers and rustles of paper as she glided out. And when the purple and white spotlights flickered on, screams erupted all around her. Sakura threw her arms up, beaming.
People had brought along signs with her name on them. They shook them, waving their hands as she moved past them. She did a lap all around the rink. It was smaller than what she was used to, but it was nice that the seats were so close. She could finally see the faces of all the people in the audience.
Including Itachi, who sat in one of the VIP seats at the very front. Her eyes widened as their gazes met. And she wondered whether she had just been seeing things. But when she glanced over her shoulder, he was still sitting there. Shaking her head a little, she forced the smile back onto her face.
“Oh, Itachi-kun, she looked right at me!” Mikoto said, shaking Itachi’s arm a little. It took a second for his mother’s voice to process in his brain. Itachi looked over at her, at the way Mikoto held the pamphlet in front of her mouth as she spoke. Her sparkling eyes. And he laughed a little.
“Yeah, Mom. She did,” he agreed with her.

Tarot cards, huh? Not exactly something Masamoto knew a lot about, but they’d definitely heard of it before. They knew some self-proclaimed psychics, at least, though had never dabbled in it themselves. Not for any particular reason- they just hadn’t had much of an opportunity.
“That’s very interesting.”
It seemed like something Juzo was passionate about, which was good to note. It wasn’t something Masamoto understood, so their next question was genuine curiosity rather than a need for further conversation.
“What is it like? I never, ah, learned a lot about fortune-telling.”

Hana: Dai Suki Da Yo
Shinsuke was dressed in a black suit with a red tie, his hair up. "I see everyone!" He said excitedly. "Everyone on different brand from me."
Missy was wearing a black dress with a cherry blossom pattern, with a leather jacket and pink heels. She was coordinated and beautiful as always, she had her hair done in traditional Japanese style. "Exciting baby I can't wait to meet your friends."
They arrived in the rental car at the event. Backstage he kissed Missy sweetly. "I leave for now Hana. You stay here, I come back." He smiled. "I go be Japanese." He teased before he pecked her lips again and left her, headed for the curtain.
Akira Tozawa, Kairi Sane, Shinsuke, Asuka, and Hideo Itami all sat on the panel. All dressed up, all looking sharp. Shin talked to Asuka as they waited for the interview to begin.
Missy saw Asuka and she had to fight two feelings. Excitement because she was a huge fan of Asuka but also slightly jealous.
He turned to Kairi, whom he gave a hug. He smiled hugely at the small brunette. Missy twisted her dress wondering what was going on.
The interview began and the five chattered happily in Japanese. At one-point Miss Kiss was mentioned to Shinsuke and he smiled broadly, his eyes crinkling as he nodded and answered. Asuka giggled and patted his shoulder.
Missy had no idea what had just happened, but she heard her name and she saw Shinsuke's smile. She giggled to herself.
Her name was mentioned several more times throughout the interview. The other wrestlers mentioned her, and Shin would grin, they were seemingly teasing him about her. Missy didn’t understand the words, but she did the tone. They were teasing him about her. She twisted her dress some more she had no clue what was going on.
The interviewer asked for a group photo and they all stood, striking poses. Shin squatted to the ground like he did in the ring, one arm under him and the other in the air.
Missy smiled and giggled. HE was adorable. She couldn't help it, but she moved to the wings of the stage and smiled at him.
He left the stage with Asuka at his side. He spoke to her in japanese and motioned at Missy. She talked to him before he translated. "Asuka say she excited to finally meet Shinsuke girlfriend." He smiled. "They tease me about you. Call my King of boyfriend style."
Missy squeaked. “Hi, I’m a huge fan of you.” Missy said to her for Shinsuke to translate, but she couldn’t help but feel jealous he could talk to her more than he talked to her. In fact, they did talk but he never told her he loved her.
Shin translated to Asuka and she smiled, relayed that she was a fan of Miss Kiss too. Soon all the Japanese stars were crowded around, all wanting to say hello to Missy. Missy felt very out of place but was excited. She clung to Shinsuke though slightly scared.
The crowd thinned out and left them alone. He smiled and kissed her. "Everyone tease me for being boyfriend now." He said. Missy laughed. “oh I’m sorry am I cramping your style king?” She teased him before giving him a kiss.
He smiled against her mouth. "I don't mind!" “Mmm good.” She said kissing him as her hands moved down to grip his ass.”You certainly don’t mind when we have sex.” She teased him again.
He winked at her. "I don't mind!"
Missy giggled kind of devilishly and squeezed Shin’s ass. She kissed him again and her phone went off it was a text m Becky. “Mmmm what do you want girl.” She asked.
He took her free hand and placed it back on his ass, grinning. "What she want?"
“Ohhhh.” She eyed him and squeezed his ass again. “Well I’ll be double dipped in blue bird shit and hung on the line to dry.” She said surprised. “Becky and Sami Are dating and want us to go on a double date with them.”
Shin blinked at her several times, his face confused. "What?"
“Becky and Sami are a couple they want us to go on a double date with them.” She said, not realizing what he was confused about.
"No no got that. Bird shit?"
“Ohhhh it’s really old saying where I am from, my grandad used to say it. It means that I’m really surprised.” She blushed. “I really need to talk like a normal human around you.” She leaned over and kissed him. “So double date?”
"Yeah!" He said. "Sound like fun! Where we go?"
“Hmmm Becky says a local restaurant that sells American food and fancy stuff she sent the address. Then something about a walk through a local park cause cherry blossom trees.”
"Oh, sound fun!" Shinsuke said. "We cuter couple than them." He smiled as he took her hand, leading her to their car.
Missy laughed. “Yes, we are longer couple than them too.” She kissed him. “I love you.” She said to him as they got into the car.
He grabbed her hand and squeezed it before he took the wheel. "Show me directions."
Missy got kind of quiet. “I can just plug in the phone for the GPS.” She replied to him and squeezed his hand back, but was quiet,
At the restaurant he parked the car, opened her door for her and kissed her hand. Then he opened the restaurant door for her.
Missy giggled. “and they say chivalry is dead.” Missy walked in and looked around for Becky and Sami. “okay a red head in Japan shouldn’t be hard to spot.”
"Two red heads!" He laughed. "I see them!" He took her hand and lead them to the back. He spoke to them as he pulled out her chair for her, waiting for her to sit before he slid her chair forward.
Missy smiled. “Thank you dear.” She kissed his cheek. “Hi you two! So when did this happen?”
“Oh well I finally bullied Sami into manning up and asking me out.” Becky laughed. “How goes it with you Shin? You’ve been together for a while now.”
Shinsuke winked at Becky. "He good guy. Even if married to Kevin." He teased. "We good." He smiled at Missy. "She met my Haha. I show her Japan."
Becky laughed. “I hope that he doesn’t make me fight for Sami.”
Missy laughed heartily. She reached out to take Shinsuke’s hand. “His mother likes me, she keep making jokes about us getting married and about shin getting me pregnant.”
Shin shrugged. "Haha want grandbaby. She like you. Today Asuka tease me about getting married."
Sami spoke up. "I heard her say you're no longer a swinging bachelor, Shin."
Missy looked at him and then at Shinsuke. “What does that exactly mean.” She said to him and staring at Sami.
Becky smacked Sami. “Do you always have to make drama.”
"You know Shin's has just always been the Rockstar. The big guy. The man everyone wants. And he's finally serious about someone."
“Oh yeah.” Missy laughed. “I certainly hope he’s serious.” Missy laughed nervously.
Becky shook her head. “Oh Sami now you went and shook her confidence.”
Missy squeezed Shinsuke’s hand. “No, I know Shin loves me.” She said.
He nodded. Sami talked to him in Japanese and Shin nodded. "I'm sorry, I don't mean anything by it. Just you know, everyone thought Shin was going to stay single forever. You pleasantly surprised all of us. Okay I'll stop talking and digging my own hole." He laughed, speaking to Shin in Japanese again.
Missy smiled. “Yeah he certainly surprised me.” She nuzzled him. “But it’s been wonderful, I really do love my Koibito.” She leaned over to kiss Shinsuke. She wondered what they were talking about.
Becky smacked Sami’s arm. “Awwwwww they’re adorable.”
He kissed her back. "You two cute too!" He said. "You kiss her, Sami?" “Yeah kiss kiss kiss kiss!” Missy chanted to encourage them. She nuzzled Shinsuke. She felt so wonderful, to be here with him, to be his.
Sami smiled and leaned over to kiss Becky's cheek. "We're not quite at the kissing stage yet."
“Oh Shinsuke moved pretty quickly with me in some aspects.” Missy said to him. “Didn’t take long for us to uh fall into certain things.” She giggled and patted his chest.
He made a face and shrugged. "You just so cute. Won me over quick." Sami smiled at him. "King of Smooth Style. One day I hope to be a smooth as you, Shin."
Becky laughed. “You can only joke.”
Missy giggled. “You are absolutely adorable, you stole my heat the first time I fell asleep on you.” She giggled mad stroked his hair. Shins is good at so many things including sex.”
Becky ohhhhed at them and smacked Sami.
Shin smiled. "You no tell all my secrets!" He put his arm around her, resting it on the back of her chair.
"Me and Sami aren't that far yet." Becky said.
“Oh no I’ll keep those a secret.” She laughed. “Ahh yeah I mean shin and I waited a until we took that step, you’ll be there.” She said them. Missy decided to lean up and kiss Shinsuke hard.
He kissed her fiercely and smiled against her mouth. The waitress came, and he broke the kiss. "What we eat? You pick." He asked. “Mmm two 10 ounce Kobe beef steaks, and a blue Hawaiians for us please! And steamed bamboo for my side dish.” She Said to the waitress and Shinsuke.
"What she say." He smiled to the waitress for Becky and Sami ordered. The waitress left and Shin turned his attention to Sami. "You take my advice about shirt?" He asked.
Sami laughed. "That was lame Shin! Even you couldn't pull that one off!" Shin shook his head and looked to Missy. "Hana, what my suit made out of?" He asked.
Missy laughed. “I dunno shin polyester?” She asked him. “What are these boys up to.” Becky shook her head.
"No. Boyfriend material." He said, smiling broadly. Sami groaned.
Missy giggled and then snorted in laughter. She snorted again and blushed. “Oh noooooo.” She groaned.
Shin smiled, wrinkling his nose as he leaned over to kiss her.
"See! King of Smooth Style!" Sami said. "He even made that lame line work!"
Missy kissed Shinsuke back. “Mm he most certainly is.” She kissed him again. “Of course, Sami it helps that he’s actually cute.”
"Sami cute, like puppy." Shin said, making Becky laugh. "He dances like puppy."
"We’re gonna fight, Shinsuke. Again." He teases.
"When I first come to NXT," Shinsuke said, "he looks at me like puppy look at owner." Sami's mouth hung open.
"Maybe I was a little star struck but I'm over it now!" He laughed.
“That’s hilarious, Sami makes googly eyes at every man who is better than him. I tease I tease all I’m good fun.” She cuddled up against Shinsuke. “I love you baby.” She cooed at him.
He leaned over and kissed the top of her head. As he and Sami began talking about their first NXT match. "I must use bathroom." He said, moving to kiss her before getting up and leaving.
Missy saw Shinsuke leave. Missy sighed and looked glumly over the table and she grabbed and took a big drink from the glass she had.
"What's up buttercup? You look bummed." Becky said. "I thought you were having fun." Sami said.
“I just...sometimes it’s hard sometimes. Shin and I really love each other but...well it’s been a couple months and he barely says I love you to me.” She sighed. “I mean I feel it, I see it and he’s so wonderful and I really like him, like I wanna be his wife one day like him.”
Sami nodded. "I spent some time in Japan and the Japanese are very funny people when it comes to love compared to Americans. You know with Americans, you date. You get intimate. You say I love you. That sort of thing. Japanese people tend to try and show it more. You know, acts if service, gifts, that sort of thing. And where and American would say 'I love you', they usually say something equivalent to "I like you' in our language. Does he say anything when you tell him you love him?"
“Mmm well sometimes he says dai suki da yo sometimes. “she said to Sami. “And I actually didn’t really know that.”
Sami made a surprised face. "Oh, that's serious. " Missy looked surprised. “Yeah what does that mean? Serious? Like how?”
"That's something that's usually saved for super serious couples. Where someone would usually say I like you, or I like spending time with you, or I love you, he's saying all of that in one sentence. Missy, he's pretty serious about you." Sami said, looking at Missy.
“Oh my god really?” She asked. “I mean oh god I...” Missy sniffled. “Oh...” She sniffled.
Sami nodded. "Missy I've known him a long time and he's dated around and stuff, but I've never known him to be this serious about someone."
Becky raised her eyebrows. "Wow! And look at you Sami! Brainiac! I never woulda known all of that!"
Missy smiled broadly. “Do you think he’ll pop the question anytime soon?” She asked curiously. “Not that right now well I dunno. Just wow.” She squealed. This made her feel so good about this.
Sami shrugged. "I dunno. He's told me before his parent's marriage was arranged, so I don't know how he feels about marriage."
“Mm yeah I figured something had happened like that when we met his mother.” Missy said. “But Thanks Sami for the lesson. I appreciate it.” Missy wondered what was taking Shinsuke so long.
Shin made his way back to his seat. "Sorry. Fans found me." He said as the waitress arrived with their food. He sat down, and Becky and Sami were staring at him. "What?" He asked as their food was being passed out.
"Nothing!" Becky said, grabbing her fork.
Missy blushed. “Ahh yes beef!” Missy said trying to cut the awkward conversation and the moment. “It’s tasty the best I heard.” Missy leaned over and gave him a kiss.
He kissed her back, looking around at her and their friends. "What I do?"
“Nothing sweetie absolutely nothing.” She lied. “Just we had an interesting culture lesson.” She smiled. “Some pretty crazy stuff goes on around here!” She covered up.
"Oh! America very different from Japan." He agreed. "Food look tasty." Becky shot Sami a look.
“A lot of things are different but it’s what makes the world an amazing place.” She said before kissing Shinsuke hard. Soon after they went to the park it was alight with paper lanterns and the trees were lit up so nicely. Missy and crew were slightly tipsy.
"Trees lit up for you my Hana." Shin said, taking her hand. "
What does that mean, Shin?" Becky asked, her words slightly slurred.
"Flower." He replied. Becky awwwwed. "Sami says I'm his gold. Like at the end of the rainbow! Ain't that sweet, Missy?"
“Awww Sami that’s the cutest!” Missy squeezed Shinsuke’s hand and she stumbled a bit. “I call Shinsuke my Samurai because of the DDR song that he played the night he asked me to be his girlfriend.” Missy leaned Against Shinsuke.
They walked up a small footbridge and when they made it to the top, Shin stopped and took her face in his hands, kissing her sweetly. Sami and Becky walked ahead into the grouping of cherry blossom trees.
Missy kissed him back sweetly melting into him she placed her hands on his chest. “Tonight has been perfect.” She whispered.
He nodded. "Very nice." He bumped her shoulder with his, gesturing towards where their friends had wandered. Sami and Becky were kissing.
“Awwww they’re kissing!” Missy cooed. “Japan certainly has a way of making things magical.” She said to him, she looked up at him. “Dai suki da yo.”
Shin looked at her with wide eyes. "You google my words?" He teased.
“No I had a culture lesson.” She said to him. “Dai suki da yo Shinsuke Nakumura.” She leaned up and kissed him.
His hands slid around to the small of her back as they kissed. "I love you." He said in his heavy accent."I love you Missy Baxter."
