I think it's easier to read bing an ben if you go into it with the expectation that the characters are just the most fucked up main characters to ever be. And knowing that It's way more... unhinged than the prior series. I'd call the portrayal and vibes.... an artistic choice. Definitely romanticized noncon, but it's really meant to be fucked up and it's better if you don't go into it thinking otherwise.

#i stick it out because i love meatbun and because i think sometimes it's beneficial to read things that make you uncomfortable #i kind of hate the pairing but if i switch my mindset to “expect it to be fucked up bc it's meant to be that way”#it's bearable #im a little over half way through vol 4 and like. im not as uncomfortable as vol 3 #and her progression makes sense kind of..#im just trying to give it a chance to change my mind #the thing that keeps me going is knowing authors don't have to write characters to be likeable #as long as they serve a purpose in the story they're trying to tell... i can hate them but it doesnt make the story bad #ive only ever DNFd one book and it was a western author with some really... annoying content #it really grated me #bab doesn't do that to me so its fine 🤷
