17. “I can’t sleep, can I stay here?”

You and Jack lived in separate apartments but just a floor above him. You met, in a long story short, he nearly hit you with his car pulling into the parking lot, so he asked you out and then you both started dating how many months later.

It was nearing midnight and you had went to bed at ten since you were exhausted from working on a presentation you had to do tomorrow at work, but you just couldn’t sleep. You tossed and turned for those hours hopeless and getting frustrated checking the clock almost constantly seeing as time passed quickly and you started counting how many hours you had until you had to be up, so you decided to just go bug jack, which was never the best route to go. He was not a happy camper if he was woken up before his alarm went off. He cherished his sleep more than anything that’s why if you ever did activities meant for night you did them during an odd hour during the day.

You threw the covers off your body putting on your slippers and grabbing a few blankets wrapping them around you grabbing your phone for an alarm and your keys walking out of your apartment going up the flight of stairs going to jacks apartment knocking on the door waiting for somebody to come as you heard someone grumbling and things falling as the door opened slowly, “it is too damn early for you to be here.” Jack said rubbing his eyes as you pulled the blankets around you tighter, “I can’t sleep. Can I stay here?” You begged seeing the upset look that you woke him from his slumber and he opened the door wider, “I promise I’ll sleep on the couch.” You said as he closed the door locking it and turning the lights off in the living room and he guided you to his bedroom slamming the door as he pointed to the spot that was designated as yours for when you spent the night, “don’t bug me.” He said huffing out a sigh getting comfortable in bed as you slid under the sheets throwing your blankets over your side as jack turned to your side moving closer to you, “goodnight,” you whispered as he grumbled the words back to you.

I actually did cross paths with Eichel, and let’s just say… the cringey vibes are very real. He definitely had that big ego, easily irritated energy, especially if things weren’t going his way. I remember being at a spot in Buffalo where a few of the guys were out, and he was not in the mood to be approached. Someone tried making small talk with him. nothing crazy, just a casual “hey, good game tonight”, and he full-on rolled his eyes and barely acknowledged them. It was giving “don’t talk to me unless you’re important.” I CANNOT STAND WHEN PLAYERS HAVE HUGE EGOS LIKE THIS. so yes bunny, You're vibes are very much right.
