Good morning, everyone! Lovely day for some map progress pictures, wouldn’t you say?

I am currently in the process of creating my very first commissioned map for the amazing author (and my dear friend) Jaclyn Kot! She has already written two amazing books: “Between Life and Death” and “Between Sun and Moon”, and this map will appear in her … 3rd? 2.5th? Book. 😅 I will be proofreading this book soon, but I know as much about it as most at this point!

But of course, for my first map project, I get one heck of a challenge- instead of one big map, technically I’m creating 9 teeny tiny maps as this world is made up of tiers- almost like a big cake! And there will be a special feature at the end which I’m keeping between Jac and I for now. 🤫

But here is what I have so far:

Tier 1: the “God” tier, where Jac’s very popular MMC lives in his big spooky castle!

Also, the map is made of two pieces of large paper that will be digitally connected later.

Tier 2: The “Paradise” Tier, inspired loosely by Hawaiian landscapes. There’s also a town with a tavern that used to be a cathedral.

Tier 3: The “Mountain” Tier- not as nice as tier 2, but is still meant to be a good place to live. There are farms and forests here. And cows. 🐮

And that’s it for now! I am currently working on the 4th tier which should be done soon! Here is the entire completed map so far.
