I have been going back and forth on wanting to get involved in wire wrapping (mostly for Trees of Life) My son mentioned a friend making small wire trees, and almost immediately after that, I saw wire wrapped trees on Temu. So my hyperfixation settled into place, and I started learning how to make trees. I like making very small ones.

hello i have the geology flavor of autism an am so so normal about honkai star rail an have not stoped thinking about the myriad celestia trailer so im going to make a thread of fun facts about the gems/minerals each of the stone hearts are named after topaz: ❥ topaz is naturally colorless but gets its color from elemental impurites ❥ the word topaz comes from the greek word Τοπαζος (topazos) ❥topaz is most commonly used in jewelry ❥ its the state gemstone of Utah! Aventurine: ❥ Aventurine is a form of quartzite ❥ the word Aventurine comes from the italian word a ventura meaning by chance ❥ its a mineral! not a gem! ❥ green aventurine is the most common Jade: ❥ Jade is actually the common term two diffrent minerals, nephrite an jadeite. ❥ nephrite is usually darker than jadeite due to it haveing more amphibole an jadeite having more pyroxene ❥ the word jade comes from the french l'ejade meaning kidney area Sugilite: ❥ imma be honest i havent heard of this mineral before the trailer droped an thats probably because its very new as it was discovered in 1944! ❥ sugilite was discovered by Kenichi Sugi who it was named after ❥ most sugilite is purple or pink Agate: ❥ Agate is the common term for the banded variety of chalcedony ❥ the word comes from the ancient greek word for the dirllo river, Achates where it is said to first be discovered ❥ Agate is formed from lava an volcanic rocks Pearl: ❥Pearl is not a mineral as it comes from living creatures making it an organic material ❥ pearls are made of the same thing shells (an tums!), calcium carbonate ❥ natural pearls were most commonly found in the persian gulf Sapphire: ❥ Sapphire is the blue variety of corundum, the second hardest mineral on the mohs hardness scale ❥ the word comes from the greek word σάπφειρος (sappheiros) but back then was talking about lapis lazuli ❥ Sapphire is one of the minerals used on sand paper! Amber: ❥ not a mineral, it is fossilized tree resin so it is organic material ❥ 90% of the worlds Amber is located in Lithuania ❥ the word comes from the arabic word anbar Opal: ❥ Opal is a mineraloid because its naturally occuring but doesnt have the crystaline structure of other minerals ❥ the word opal comes from the sanskirt word upala meaning jewel ❥ Opal is the national gemstone of australia Obsidian: ❥ Obsidian is classified as a rock since it is formed rapidly cooling lava ❥ this baby is VERY sharp it was used in paleolithic times to make cutting an hunting blades and was used as surgical tools ❥ the word comes from the latin lapis obsidianus

going out of order here but when have we ever done things orderly in this blog. The Dark Kingdom! With a whole-ass extra group of girls! because me! info below
We start of course with "Queen Beryl", which is nothing more than Metallia donning a humanoid form to command her generals, finding it easier to control them herself than risking the real Beryl reincarnation fucking it up by remembering that she had used her. She's the only member of the Dark Kingdom that DIES dies, everyone else reincarnates after all is over (same way the core cast does) and recover their memories between the Makai Tree and Black Moon arcs, a mini arc of their own based on the PC Engine visual novel THAT I NEED TO PLAY I HAVE IT DOWNLOADED I'VE JUST FOCUSED ON OTHER STUFF LOL.
The Shitennou! and the... Shitenjou? I am old school and Four Heavenly Kings is a fucking mouthful, so in the AU they're just the Dark Kingdom Generals. Like the Senshi, they all have to transform into their General form first to access their powers. Mio loses access to her Morganite persona in her second chance, unlocking the full power of Sailor Earth instead. They all also have different colors compared to their canon looks - I used the colors of the real corresponding gems for each.
Morganite/Mio is the youngest of the Generals and the real reincarnation of Beryl. I don't need to go over her y'all know her she's Sailor Earth girl has like 7 posts about her alone already lmao. Her focus is gathering energy, but she goes more for places where people already gather more than more planned stuff.
Jadeite/Hayato is 17, second youngest of the Generals, impulsive and hotheaded. His focus is on gathering energy, favoring groups of people focused on something in particular for his purpose and working with a single Youma on it. He has power over wind.
Azurite/Kanami is 20, flighty but maintaining a sense of elegance, theatric. Her focus is gathering energy in groups, but she uses a team of 3 Youma for her tasks and usually keeps her distance from the plan. She has power over water. She is based on the OG anime Youma Thetis, who was frankly too cool to just be a Youma lol.
Nephrite/Masato is 19, dramatic and theatric to a greater degree than Azurite, with a fondness for astrology. Said fondess is his primary tool on his focus - finding the Silver Crystal, using the trajectory of the stars to select locations where it might be and place a team of Youma to investigate. He has power over light.
Fluorite/Sayaka is 19, focused and no-nonsense, which puts her at massive odds compared to the dramafest that is literally everyone else. Being her is suffering. She's somehow Nephrite's bestie despite this. Her focus is also finding the Silver Crystal, but unlike Nephrite she scouts out locations herself assisted by a single Youma. She has power over electricity. She is partially based on Codename Sailor V's Fluorite, just butch and more involved.
Zoisite/Anji is the gay backstabbing twink we all know and love, the only difference is that he doesn't actually kill any of the other generals he just steals credit and targets lmao. He's 22, and is in charge of strenghtening Youma, but as it doesn't take much of his time he likes to crash on everyone else's duties to be annoying. He has power over flowers.
Kunzite/Shinkou, 25, is still in homosexuals with Zoisite, very much in love, they can be disgusting when together the man loves his man. Away from his bf however he's just as no-nonsense as Fluorite and constantly has to scold the other Generals to focus more on their tasks. His focus is on finding Princess Serenity's reincarnation and deal with her as soon as possible, knowing of the risk she poses to the Dark Kingdom but having a vague memory of something horrific related to her. He has power over ice.
Albite/Yorine, 30, is the oldest of the Generals and the most dedicated to Metallia - knowing the truth behind her identity. She is quiet and stoic, but goes with the flow of everyone else's antics with incredible ease. She's the only full OC in the lineup, and her focus is creating parasite Youmas - Youmas that can take over a living host and form a body from it. She has power over fire.
You also get to see the civilian/untransformed form! For 6 of them at least Albite doesn't change eye or hair color and y'all know Mio's gonna be part of a different lineup.
NOW FOR MY FAVORITE THING, NAMES.
Jadeite is Shiokawa Hayato - Shiokawa roughly means "salt river", while Hayato is in hiragana and so can have multiple meanings.
Nephrite is Sanjouin Masato - just fully lifting his OG anime alias, I take what I'm given lmao. I did get to find out what his name means! Sanjouin would roughly be "Temple of 3 Items", Masato is "holy man".
Azurite is Kakihara Kanami - Kakihara would mean "oyster source", Kanami is "melody/performance of the sea"
Zoisite is Ozawa Anji - Ozawa means "small swamp", Anji means "compassionate apricot". Anji is also an unisex name, which I feel goes with Zoisite's femme vibe.
Kunzite is Inokuma Shinkou - Inokuma has the kanji for both boar and bear because subtlety is dead for me, Shinkou means "dawn light". Shinkou goes by the nickname "Shin", matching with his PGSM incarnation before he awakened his memories.
Fluorite is Haibara Sayaka - Haibara means "hazelnut tree source", Sayaka is in hiragana because I simply liked the name for her lol.
lastly, Albite is Iwamoto Yorine - Iwamoto means "real rock", fitting for the rock guys, while Yorine is a more classical/older name, meaning "sound of an era".
After the Dark Kingdom arc, they all return to a normal life and become casual friends with the Senshi (and closer friends to Mamoru and Mio), and keeping their powers, they help out the Senshi when they have to take care of bigger stuff.
#Drops's Art#Sailormoon#Sailormoon ReStart#Dark Kindom#Queen Beryl#Queen Metallia#Jadeite#Nephrite#Zoisite#Kunzite#Mio Kuroki#I will tag the others too so yeah#Azurite#Fluorite#Albite

Hey so for Mothers day I wanted to do a well known Syncretist Goddess
The Mother Goddess

Mother Earth also known as the Earth Lady, Gaia, Tlaltecuhtli, Pachamama and Kallirugadh, is the primordial earth mother, the source of creation, and a powerful, dual-gendered deity. Like Gaia, she is the ancestral mother of all life, deeply connected to the earth and its fertility. She is often envisioned as a powerful being emerging from the soil, embodying the interconnectedness of all living things. Similar to Tlaltecuhtli, she can be seen as a monstrous, yet life-giving force, a being who both gives and devours life. Her dismembered form or body is believed to be the basis for the world, mirroring the Aztec creation myth.
Mythology: The Mother Goddess is the wife of Cernunnos, involved in the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth. Cernunnos' birth at the winter solstice represents the start of the new year, and his symbolic death in the fall mirrors the dormancy of nature. At Imbolc, his impregnation of The Earth initiates the cycle of growth and fertility, ensuring the continuation of life. She is both a nurturing and demanding force, requiring respect and offerings to maintain the balance of the world.
Devotional Acts

Local Celebration
Pachamama Day: celebrated annually on August 1st, is a traditional Andean festival honoring Mother Earth, or Pachamama. It's a time for communities to express gratitude for the Earth's bounty and to make requests for the coming year. Andean cultures across South America, where people honor the earth and its natural forces, Celebrations often include rituals like digging holes in the ground to place offerings, pouring drinks and throwing coca leaves, and burning sacred items as a way to honor and thank Pachamama
(based on the)New Fire Ceremony: Every 52 years, a celebration of a new era takes place, similar to a new year, featuring a bonfire, stories of the past era, and tea boiled in a cauldron placed atop a statue of Tlaltecuhtli, using her stomach as the cauldron.
Gaia Day: either as a celebration of Earth day or as a reference to the name of the Greek goddess Gaia, organizations, like Gaia Movement USA, use "Gaia Day" to refer to a yearly commitment to environmental protection.
the balance between humans and nature, is central to celebration Mother Earth. returning to the Earth what has been taken from it, ensuring continued harmony even if thats form differs

My posts
Seasonal reblog: a post about Donna Summer and Disco Demolition Night.
I seem to have crashed a bit and taken a week I couldn't really spare to rest a little (while still going to physical therapy three times). This compilation of Maria getting in my way for five and half minutes shows a bit of the next SH2 commentary, but that's about as far as I've gotten.
I am now developing quite a little Steam library of deep-discount games I have no time to play, as is traditional. This week I learned that the Epic platform is a thing, and also that it has Alan Wake 2 as an exclusive, or else I would own the latter by now. The rest of Alan Wake, I got for $5. When will I play all these games? Nobody knows, including my physical therapist who wants me to get up and stretch every fifteen minutes.
Meanwhile, Ian's band has a new YouTube channel; he talks about a special song here. He doesn't know when I have time to play these games either; he's the one who got me to buy Silent Hill 4 off GOG.com.
Reblogs of interest
Remembering Marsha P. Johnson, Stonewall, and her activism (I hadn't seen the Pay It No Mind arch before; it's beautiful).

I’m going back and reading past couple chapter Jadeite Ginko and… okay I’m having some thoughts, including on the name of the fic now.
Zhongli breaks his cover so to speak, with Childe, with the melancholy of relating to an ancient species of tree. Something so connected to everything else, yet so alone. That everything around it, the world and the creatures it once knew have changed and vanished. “Like everything he knew was long gone too”. In addition to surviving the archon war, he’s also here now. So very alone. Ginkos are ancient. They predate bees, are pollinated by beetles- and the beetles that pollinate them today are not the ones they once lived alongside. They’re a beautiful thing. But such a lonely one too.
And here’s Zhongli. Morax, guardian of Liyue. He talks about how anchoring everything to it would be needlessly cruel, but. Doesn’t Zhongli seem to take that role? Teaching and protecting everyone else here. Trying to get to the bottom of everything while sharing little of the burden with others Zhongli aren’t you a Ginko anchoring itself to everything around yourself? And I just. Feel bad for him. And I feel like we’ve seen that mounting stress (things aren’t good enough, needing to do better than standard issue, the incident with Xingqui and just). Yeah.
Started this whole thing wanting to rotate Childe being gay for his mountain maiden, speaking of just the. “If he was something like the Mountain Maiden, something anchored to the earth the same way wood spirits were anchored to the trees and water spirits were anchored to the rivers and oceans- Just what would something like this- What would it feel like to him...?” God that’s a fun part to read and go insane over. Noticing the actual physical pain and. God. Childe is Noticing Things. His crush is a mountain spirit who’s home got attacked with negative energy specifically trying to kill him.
God. You’re driving me insane. Thank you for the fantastic chapters. -☁️

The Sweet Track
The Sweet Track is a Neolithic timber walkway, located in the Somerset Levels, England. It was originally part of a network of tracks built to provide a dry path across the marshy ground. The Sweet Track ran between what was then an island at Westhay to a ridge of high ground, close to the River Bruce. The remains of mounds have also been found at Westhay, indicating the remains of a settlement.
About 1.6 kilometres (1 mile) long, the Sweet Track was discovered in the 1970s CE during a peat excavation by Ray Sweet, (who also gave the track its name). Using dendrochronology (tree-ring dating) the track has been dated 3807/3806 BCE. For many years it was thought to be the oldest trackway in Northern Europe, until 2009 CE when a slightly older one was discovered in Plumstead, London.
The Somerset Levels are an area of wetlands and peats. The conditions of such areas can naturally lead to the preservation of organic materials. Materials become encased in a wet and airless environment, thus preventing, to a degree, decomposition. Wooden artefacts and structures have been recovered from the Levels, as well as the two well-preserved Iron Age villages of Glastonbury and Meare.
The track would have been built by a community of Neolithic farmers living in small settlements. Farming had spread from the Middle East and by this point was firmly established in Britain. According to pollen evidence, the whole of Britain would have been covered in forests at this time. The Neolithic peoples would have burnt and cleared the forests to have the land on which to grow their crops, mostly grains. A fair degree of organization is evident in the stockpiling of wood and construction of the tracks, and some members of the community would have had to have skills in woodworking. Using stone and flint axes, the trees for the track were cut on dry land with different cutting techniques used, depending on their age. Older oaks were cut vertically whilst younger trees tangentially. Modern research has been carried out using replica axes and the cut marks have also been studied to establish the methods of cutting used. The planks of wood were put together in the marsh, the final construction taking about a day to complete. Long poles were driven slantwise into the ground and then planks were laid in between, held in place by vertical pegs. The planks were made of oak, ash and lime. The poles and pegs were made mainly of hazel and alder. There are also remains of another track, known as the “Post Track”, which dates 30 years earlier than the Sweet Track, 3838 BCE. It ran roughly parallel to the Sweet Track, possibly used by the builders of the Sweet Track as an access route.
Artefacts have been found beside the track, among them, pottery and axe heads including one made of jadeite. Whether they had been deliberately buried, perhaps as an offering, or just lost, remains unknown. There have been many Prehistoric trackways found in England, but more than half reside in Somerset. Included in these are the Abbot's Way, Eclipse, Honeygore, Meare Health and Garvins tracks. They were constructed using varying styles, such as corduroy - laying short logs parallel to each other and side by side. The Sweet Track is the most well-known of these. It has been declared a scheduled monument (of national importance). Most of it remains in its original location and requires constant conservation to keep the wood in its damp condition. There are reproductions and a donated section now resides in the British Museum, London.

I mentioned before about my hc/theory of the Jade Emperor's true form being that of a prehistoric frog/amphibian (post here) due to him in lore being at least as old as the Carboniferous Period.
Also I thought it'd be funny for the literal King of the Universes' true form be tied to those little lucky jadeite frog statues

But I've also seen some super cool ideas regarding the mythos where Nüwa and him are related. As per research done by the amazing @dorothygale123; the Jade Emperor's origins are pretty flexible since he was made up on the spot to cover a guy's imperial butt.
My palaeontology brain likes the idea of the Jade Emperor having snake/frog features due to being so old that the lines sort of blur - snakes only evolved about early-Jurassic period from leggy lizards, and "frogs" as we know them came about a bit earlier in the mid-Triassic. It also lines up with my family tree idea of him being Nezha's grandpa + Nezha having snake features.
Also it still makes the dynamic between him and Xiwangmu hilarious;

So for Nüwa? What if she were related to the Jade Emperor, not exactly as his daughter, but something older. Like how Yaoji (Erlang's mom in later mythos) is the JE's sister, perhaps Nüwa is amongst these siblings? A family of rain/weather gods with cooled blood, and one little snake discovering that she had an amazing ability whilst playing in the primordial clay?

Speaking of the Senshi/Shitennou pairs. I was kind of curious why those stones in particular, right. Kunzite and zoisite are so unusual that I think only gemstone aficionados know them, and even though jadeite and nephrite are somewhat more commonly known names IIRC it still made people mess up the mineral names back in the day.
Well, uh, so, it was alleged that Takeuchi-sensei chose them to match the character and personalities of the senshi they're partnered with, so... Excuse me while I go overthink this and have a meltdown in suffering.
In the first place, supposedly the "inner senshi" are officially meant to be called "guardians"/"guardian deities" (守護 or 守護神). Haven't seen the raws, so I can't confirm, but that's what the JP media says. The term "Shitennou", as many are already aware of, are originally a term used to refer to a set of 4 Buddhist guardian deities.
If true then it just feels like they're all intended to be perfectly matching sets from the start, and it just never made it into the story.
I read that Sailor Moon was originally meant to just end with the Dark Kingdom plot, so maybe sensei intended to have a Romeo and Juliet sad ending where everyone just dies in the end?
These are all based on Japanese gemology guides (same as what I used to research for the Shitennou knight titles), since I imagine it's more likely to be the one Takeuchi-sensei had access to. These may differ from international ones.
(Warning: Long post)
In the manga sensei specified that the zoisite is the blue one, that's also known as "tanzanite". The blue variety of zoisite, among other things, means "calm and intelligence".
The connection to Ami/Mercury's character is very straightforward and obvious.
In terms of romance, a zoisite also means "subdued expressions of love". It really makes me think of how gentle this pair looks in the splash art sensei drew.
Kunzite means "premonition of a lover". It's specifically oh dang when I saw this because Minako was "special" among the senshi in the way that her character vibes are based on "love" (because Venus, goddess of love), rather than the original elemental name attached to the planet. It fits enough to make you pause and wonder if this it truly a coincidence.
The planet venus originally has the element of "gold/metal". The gold is reflected in her design somewhat, but her senshi identity is more related to "love". The other girls' names matches their planets' element names. E.g Jupiter = mokusei = wood, Ki(no) = wood/tree. Mercury = suisei = water, Mizu(no) = water.
Also Venus's relationship with Kunzite ended up being the one who got the most hints actually shown in the manga, so... I do wonder.
The two jades are less overly specific like this, especially Nephrite, but well.
Jadeite is the native jade from Japan, and has been long used to make magatama since ancient times. As such it's always seen as a deeply spiritual stone, that can protect against and/or ward off evil. A perfect match for Rei, who is a miko. One wonders if sensei chose the stone because of Rei being a miko, or if she made Rei a miko after choosing this name for the one matched with her.
Edit: Japanese Wiki claims Rei being a miko was based on Takeuchi-sensei's personal experience as a part time miko. So then Jadeite had to have been named/chosen to fit her, if this theory is true.
Not to mention that Akuryou Taisan, the evil-banishing spell, is something that she uses quite often.
Nephrite is the most confusing one here, because I'm not really able to find the connection. That's why I initially had strong doubts about the rumour/claim about the gemstone names' connection to the senshi.
In the gemology guide that I referenced, its meaning is "charm of maturity". I suppose Mako has always felt like she's older than the other girls, because her hobbies (cooking and home decor) feels really motherly.
Other than that and the stone being a deep green colour similar to Jupiter's senshi outfit I'm not entirely sure. (in the manga, sensei says nephrites are "always deep green" even though IRL that's not the case)
----
Just my additional comments after reading everything that I did:
In terms of colour, I like to think Jadeite is a red jade. Not just to match Rei, but in the manga Jadeite's stone is always coloured the darkest (it's almost all-black). Of all the various jades, red is one of the darker-toned ones.
The shading can be arbitrary, especially if sensei was just tracing from reference photos. Dark green jadeite also exist, so for all I know this is intended to be green too.
But if I use the logic that the stones are matched with the girls' character, I think red just fits the best. In gemstone language the red jade means "tenacity" and "willpower". Green jades tends to be associated with things like harmony, prosperity, luck, and so on. It doesn't feel very Rei-like.
Also, the nephrite jade being a "soft jade", it's associated with very cuddly meanings such as "warm" or "gentle", which makes me laugh even more than the "wisdom" one.
Unless, again, these words are more attached to the matching girls' character, rather than the guy in question, because yes I think Mako is definitely very warm and gentle and fluffy and very huggable.
Although other-coloured zoisite varieties were said to have different meaning, it looks like blue is the predominant zoisite colour in Japan. A lot of Japanese gem sites tend to automatically just say "it's blue" while describing zoisite, even though there's obviously other colours out there.
Sensei did specify it's "blue zoisite, a.k.a tanzanite" in the manga, so I think she's aware of the other colours having different meanings attached. Some articles also had mentioned Takeuchi-sensei's family runs a jewellery store?
I wonder if this is why Crystal went with the gemstone's healing properties for Zoi's title though, because the gemstone words overlaps too much with Mercury in a very in-the-face way. The other meanings are Hope, Mystery, Pride, and Noble, and maybe those don't make very good title names? Like, the only viable one is probably Hope, though I feel like it would be even more confusing if Crystal said Zoi is the "Knight of Hope" or whatever.
Another thing about Kunzite is that its meaning also include "pure and everlasting love", but the website caveated this that this is a saintly kind of love (for the gem's association with Holy Mother Mary). So it's not necessarily something to get overly excited about in terms of SenShi headcanoning, but, well, it's there.
"Shitennou" in Japanese pop culture is generally used to just mean "4 very important people", so it didn't have to actually mean anything. Like, a few samurai in history had their "shitennou", who are just the best 4 generals serving under them. Most famous being the Tokugawa shitennou, but other samurai lords actually have their own so-called shitennou. It's just that if the senshi are officially named "Guardians", then this changes the context.

Favorite WN Quotes - Bonus: Priest
[Quotes & Propaganda below]
Quote 8: TYK Regrets
“One only knew autumn when the cold rain came; parasol trees dying of old age; the suffering of the cold under a thin blanket; wasting your lifetimes away… all belated regrets in the end, regrets that we hadn’t met sooner” - Faraway Wanderers
Submission: This is the quote that convinced me to read Faraway Wanderers because I read it on tumblr and then heard it in the audiodrama trailer and I thought it was so pretty that I knew I had to read this novel. It is written at the end of Chapter 29 where Wen Kexing discovers that Zhou Zishu only has a couple more years left to live and it’s quite heartwrenching
Quote 9: TYK Affection
“As long as your affection for me is as mine for you, I will not let it be in vain” - Wen Kexing (he writes this on Zhou Zishu’s palm), Faraway Wanderers
Submission: The classic WenZhou quote. Makes me want to cry every time I read it
Quote 10: Qi Ye Soulmates
“The first lifetime, a stone appeared, turning into the burial mound of a hero, feelings unable to be broken. The second lifetime, a boulder split, ferrying a predestined love across the Bridge, a pair of mandarin ducks flying off together. The third lifetime, a jadeite burned, vowing to abide by an invaluable oath, eternally following each other in life and death” - Qi Ye, Chapter 1
Submission: This is the opening paragraph of the novel. It goes unaddressed in the rest of the novel but it is heavily implied to be describing Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi’s several centuries of tragic soulmate-ism
Quote 27: Look at Me?
“Won’t you turn back and look at me? If you turn back and look at me just one time, even if you were to ask me to climb up to the roof and jump off, I’ll do it.” - GuoMen
Quote 28: Reflection
“I fantasize about seeing my reflection in your eyes one day, just one look, I’ll be willing to do anything that is asked of me, even pulverizing my body and shattering my bones no matter how many times…” - Lie Huo Jiao Chou
Quote 29: No Betrayal to be Had
“Whatever he wants, I’ll give it to him. If he wants my life, I’ll stake my life for him… there’s no betrayal to be had.” - Liu Yao: The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect
Quote 30: Droplet of Water
"If one's heart is small, all their sufferings even as large as a house, can only be crammed into that small corner. But if one's heart were as vast as heaven and earth, then even if their troubles were as large as a mountain, they would become nothing more than a droplet of water in the endless sea." - Liao Ran, Sha Po Lang, Chapter 26

-
The bus pulled away behind Ami as she stepped out onto the cracked sidewalk outside the Hikawa Shrine. Her glasses caught the light, obscuring her vision for a moment until she shaded them with her hand and peered up at the lovely shrine among the swaying branches of the trees.
It was long enough after the school bell rang, so she was certain that she'd find Rei here in her shrine maiden's dress—without a doubt still deep in her own head. Ami had been getting worried about her since their last meeting of the three sailor guardians in the hideout under Game Center Crown. She'd been brooding, more so than Ami had seen her before, lost in her own head and pretending every time the subject was skirted that she was fine.
But Ami was observant—and she knew Rei needed someone, no matter what it was that was really on her mind.
As if to prove her intuition she saw Rei's figure just as she'd predicted, sitting with her back to Ami, kneeling on the flagstones in her shrine maiden attire. The two crows that always seemed to be near here were there, and as silent as she was herself.
One of the crows brushed its head against her hand without a sound save for the soft rustle of its feathers as its wings subtly fluttered. Ami bit her lip, her steps carrying her closer before she finally spoke up. "...h-hello Rei."
Ami watched Rei's shoulders move as if she had let go of a held breath. She stroked her fingers over the crow's head, and didn't yet look back at her.
"Hello, Ami."
"I'm sorry to intrude while you're working," Ami tucked her hair over her ear before walking over to kneel beside her and leaned forward to try to catch her eyes. "but I was worried about you."
Rei laughed softly, but Ami could hear that it was forced.
"Worrying about me? Don't be silly. I'm just fine. Though I appreciate the concern." She stood smoothly, tossing her long, dark hair and fixing the hems of her garments.
Ami watched as the crows took off to flutter into the air—one landing on Rei, but the other rather surprisingly landing on her own shoulder with a trill that Ami couldn't help but feel was incredibly sad.
She stood slowly with a tired smile. "You're welcome. But Rei, I don't want to intrude too much in saying this and I don't think Usagi noticed—but it's pretty clear something's on your mind."
Another little laugh and a toss of her hair. "Usagi wouldn't notice if someone dropped a piano on her head. Well, you came all this way, the least I can do is get you something to drink, right?"
She stroked the crow on her shoulder briefly before starting toward the house and beckoning for Ami to follow.
The crow's companion on Ami's shoulder made a squawking sound to urge her along, and Ami hurried to follow with a nod of her head. "Thank you! I'm afraid I haven't had much to drink today…
She'd been too busy worrying. The oppressive weight in the room, stemming from Rei's silence and the chaos of the last few days was palpable. Ami couldn't blame her, she was tense too. That incident with the man behind all those monster attacks that ended in his death was still fresh in their memories, the vague 'mission' they were all following as guardians, and the feeling in the air that Jadeite's death wouldn't be the end of the monsters flooding their home any time soon—it was almost too much to bear on top of trying to keep it all secret from everyone.
Was it getting to Rei too? All she had been able to do through the meeting was worry with every fretful glance Rei's way. Despite the way her classmates used to say she was cold—Ami's heart couldn't bear to see a friend hurting.
-
Rei carefully bustled around the kitchen, pouring glasses of iced tea for herself and for her guest. Ami. She hadn't been expecting her to show up, but she probably should have predicted it. If she hadn't been so distracted, she would have.
But of course, she's here because I'm distracted, isn't she? She's one of the smartest people in Tokyo of course she'd notice. I really thought I'd been hiding it well, though.
Phobos hopped off her shoulder, sulking in her birdlike way as she hunkered down on the nearby counter to watch her pour the tea.
Rei sighed and set the cups down on the table, sitting down opposite to Ami.
"I'm sorry that I worried you, Ami."
Ami was idly petting the top of Deimos' head when the cup set before her, and she turned her deep aqua eyes her way with another of her small and often hesitant smiles. "It's alright. It's been a hard week, hasn't it?"
The image of their fallen enemy flashed through her mind again, his body consumed by the flames conjured from her own hands.
Rei took a steadying breath. The vision was the one that kept returning to her, time and again, since that day.
He was an enemy. He wasn't even human.
Right?
Rai took a sip of her tea. "Well. The week's been pretty quiet since we sent Jadeite packing, right?"
The look on his face when the flames took him looked human enough. None of the demons we've all exorcised before looked quite so… She didn't know how to put it beside human.
Ami's nose wrinkled very slightly.
"It's true, we haven't heard much in the way of new activity—but Luna doesn't believe he's working alo—" She paused, jolting a little when Deimos made a heartbreaking sound and fluttered up into the air off of Ami's shoulder. "Oh…ah, oh dear. I hope she's alright. But Luna doesn't believe he was working alone…it's only a matter of time till things turn chaotic again I'm afraid."
Rei held out her free arm for Deimos to land if she felt like it.
"I'm sure. That's the life of a guardian, I suppose. At least that's what Luna's been telling us."
A lifetime of battle. Of victory or defeat. Of killing.
There was no other word to describe it. What she had done to Jadeite wasn't exorcising a demon. She had killed something. Someone.
Someone evil, certainly. But still someone.
And he wouldn't be the last.
A shudder went through her as she took a sharp intake of breath.
Ami noticed, the sudden presence of the girl's surprisingly warm yet analytical stare falling upon her again. Deimos hopped onto Rei's arm before Ami spoke again.
"That's what she's been telling us—it's a grim responsibility, isn't it? To fight…protect Earth, and to protect a princess we haven't met yet…"
"It is," Rei agreed. "But it's our responsibility. It's what the powers we were given are for. If we didn't do it, we wouldn't be worthy of them."
Despite her words, the moment played in her mind again. Why did it have such a hold on her? Why did he have such a hold on her?
It felt like I knew him.
The thought came again, not for the first time, from some deep part of her mind she didn't quite understand. Never with any elaboration or clarity—it'd flickered into her mind like a sparking flame not long after the fire had burned the man to charred flesh and bone.
I wish I knew why I can't put this behind me.
Ami nodded slowly.
"It's true, we wouldn't be. I'm not going to stop fighting for the princess we're looking for…n-nor am I going to just let monsters ravage my home. But—it doesn't make it easy, right? We're still just…teenage girls doing our best."
"Maybe so," Rei sighed. "Even if I'd prefer otherwise. I guess we all start somewhere. Maybe eventually all of this will just seem… routine."
Ami chewed her lip for a moment before she said the thing Rei was dreading, hoping against all hope she hadn't picked up on.
It was a vain hope.
"You mean killing? I should hope not…" Ami closed her eyes with a sadness in her smile. "I mean…the day that that becomes rote routine—would we be any better than the enemy? I think it'll weigh on us no matter what."
Ami flexed her fingers against her undrunk tea, watching as Phobos finally fluttered over to join them with a flutter of wings. "I'm still a little shaken about how that battle ended."
"You are, huh?" Rei huffed softly. Of course Ami had picked up on it. Unlike some people, Ami wasn't stupid. Quite the contrary.
But if Ami was still shaken by it… maybe it was alright to talk about it, if only a little bit.
Ami nodded, opening her eyes again but leaving them downcast into her tea. "He was trying to kill us—but at the same time he seemed desperate."
Rei bit her lip. Desperate. She wasn't wrong.
"Like a rat caught in a trap," she murmured back.
That look in his eyes when she'd burned him away…
Fear, absolute terror, desperation and hurt—and some flicker of something else.
"And then he died…but he didn't die like the youma we'd been facing," Ami's brow furrowed. "He didn't vanish in a puff of miasma while cursing us to his final corporeal breath and fizzling away. He died like…like…"
The daughter of a doctor certainly had seen death before.
"Like a human being," Rei said, giving voice to the awful thought that had been turning in her mind since then.
Ami nodded.
"Like a terrified human being. It kind of brought home that not every enemy we fight is gonna be…I…I dunno. Some demonic amalgamation of the concept of personal fitness or something. Some of them are human as we are."
Slowly she raised her glass to her lips, taking a hesitant sip as Phobos and Deimos shuddered in perfect unison.
Rei's gaze lowered, staring at the ice cubes in her tea. At anything besides Ami.
"I feel like I might be a murderer."
There.
She'd said it.
"I helped you land the finishing blow," Ami murmured as the sound of the ice in her tea clinked. "I cast the spell to obscure things so you could sneak up on him. If you're a murderer, I'm an accessory."
Her breath shuddered softly before she continued. "But...it's a war, though. We don't know the true nature of the enemy we're fighting, we don't know our whole purpose—but we're soldiers. As horrible as it is, it's not quite murder."
Suddenly, her hand was on Rei's, squeezing it in slightly shaky fingers. "Even if it feels like it. And you're not the only one who's shaken by it. I'm here too…I want to be here to help."
Rei caught Ami's fingers and squeezed them back. It was silly, maybe… but knowing she wasn't alone in her feelings… it helped.
"Thanks, Ami. I…"
She stumbled over her words, not knowing quite what to say.
Ami's fingers curled around hers and squeezed them reassuringly.
I hope she can feel what I mean. I feel like something's got a vice grip on my chest whenever I try to get my feelings in order.
"It's okay, Rei—you're welcome." Ami said quietly. "Anything you have to get off your chest, I'll listen. And if you don't want to…or can't, I'll keep you company alright? My mother's working late today—she won't notice if I'm late coming home."
"Will it be okay if you're not studying tonight? I hate to ask that of you."
I hate to ask that of you, but I don't want to be alone.
Ami tucked her hair over her ear with her other hand, her smile as warm and kind as ever.
"Of course. I'm more than prepared enough for the next tests…and I can always catch up later. It'll be alright."
Rei gave her a hesitant smile. The first she'd managed to paint on her face all day. "Then, if you wouldn't mind, I think I'd like the company."
Just a pair of teenage girls hanging out.
No, a pair of newly minted soldiers.

🌟✨ Makai Tree: Roots of Destiny – Chapters 15 & 16 ✨🌟
Guess what? We’re back with two new chapters, ready to set your heart aflame and your thoughts drifting like petals on the breeze! 🌸🔥
Chapter 15: Shadows Breaking Beneath the Light – Mamoru’s trying to ignore that pesky little thing called feelings while watching Usagi radiate like a walking sunbeam. But, spoiler alert, it’s not working. From a leisurely day at the park to the ominous presence of dark shadows (classic Mamoru), the tension is growing, the light’s dimming, and the monster fight is just a heartbeat away. But hey, Mamoru’s still got this beautiful tragic hero vibe going, right? (No pressure, Mamoru, you’re gonna need a lot more than that to keep Usagi safe!)
Chapter 16: Lanterns Against an Eternal Sky – Tanabata night at the Hikawa Shrine, where stars and lanterns collide, and Rei’s feeling every bit of that star-crossed tension. But guess who’s also lurking in the background, teasing her in that infuriatingly captivating way? Yep, Jadeite (with that piercing gaze of his), and their forbidden connection? It’s practically glowing. ✨ Now, with a creepy Cardian weaving her haunting song, it’s Rei’s turn to set the night on fire—literally. Let’s just say things get heated (and we don’t mean just the fire attacks) 🔥💫.
The emotional pull of fate, unspoken connections, and stars lighting the way? Yeah, it’s all here. 🌙
Read these chapters on: 💻 Wattpad 📱 Archive of Our Own 💻 Fanfiction.net
The Makai Tree: Roots of Destiny just keeps getting deeper, darker, and so much more complicated (but in the best way possible)! 🌿💫

This is how I personally divide up each season of the original anime into sub-arcs, and my own names for them. Legit, these are just the names I always associate with each run of episodes, there are probably better fitting titles out there though.
Sailor Moon Classic
[001-013] Classic 01-13: Jadeite Arc
[014-024] Classic 14-24: Nephrite Arc
[025-035] Classic 25-35: Rainbow Crystals Arc
[036-046] Classic 36-46: Dark Endymion Arc
Sailor Moon R
[047-059] R 01-13: Hell Tree Arc
[060-074] R 14-28: Rubeus Arc
[075-081] R 29-35: Esmeraude Arc
[082-089] R 36-43: Wiseman Arc
Sailor Moon S
[090-102] S 01-13: Kaolinite Arc
[103-111] S 14-22: Eudial Arc

[112-119] S 23-30: Mimete Arc
[120-127] S 31-38: Mugen Academy Arc
Sailor Moon SuperS
So, I honestly struggle to view this seasons as having four arcs like every other season. It actually divides quite neatly in two halves. Nevertheless I sort of have a mid-way point for each sub arc.
[128-138] SuperS 01-11: Amazon’s Trio Arc Part A
[139-149] SuperS 12-22 : Amazon’s Trio Arc Part B
[150-158] SuperS 23-31: Amazoness Quartet Arc Part A
[159-166] SuperS 32-39 : Amazoness Quartet Arc Part B
Sailor Stars
[167-172] Sailor Stars 01-06: Nehelennia Arc
[173-181] Sailor Stars 07-15: Iron Mouse Arc
[182-188] Sailor Stars 16-22: Siren & Crow Arc
[189-200] Sailor Stars 23-34: Galaxia Arc

AxZ Week Day 5: Poetry
@senshixshitennouweeks
In Silver Millennium, Serenity hands her a slip of parchment, claiming she found it tucked into the hollow of a tree where she had met with her beloved Endymion (she suspects that she was simply playing matchmaker).
The words compare her to a pool of water on a hot day, keeping refreshing, serene, and reflective in pleasing rhyme and meter.
Though it’s short, it’s words stir something in the princess of Mercury and she wishes to know who made such lovely phrases on the tiny blue planet that Serenity is so fond of.
Soon, Serenity brings her more messages that flatter her about her mind and her ambitions, mentioning her beauty to punctuate the writer’s fascination with her.
She never finds out who it is, though. The Silver Millennium falls soon after.
He’s in the library, looking for inspiration for a new energy gathering scheme for their great ruler. His last plan had backfired spectacularly (Video rental stores were not an antiquated idea; it was novel and retro!) and he was going to find something full proof. Beryl was getting impatient.
He pulled a book from the shelf and opened it. A piece of loose-leaf paper, folded into eighths fell from between.
Curious, he picked it up and unfolded it.
I wish to share my words, read the lines of text, to let others know my dreams.
The words stir something in Zoisite and, against his better judgement, pulls out a pen and scrawls a reply, trying to match the number of syllables and give it some kind of rhyme scheme.
Your words have found me now, and filled my heart to the seams.
It’s a simple poem, nothing he’d want to show anyone, but at least he got it out of his system. Putting the paper in between the pages of the book, Zoisite puts the book back and heads for the music section. He’d always been interested in that, so maybe something would inspire him.
Just as he turned the corner, a girl with short dark hair and blue eyes turned the corner and took the book he had just replaced.
The two of them stand awkwardly a week after their second (really third) meeting. They could sit down in one of Crown Arcade’s many booths, especially since it was a slow day, but that would mean sitting across from one another or, God forbid, beside one another.
She’s still not sure trusting him is a logical decision.
He’s still not sure if she even wants to talk to him.
The tension is thick and cloying, a sensation like wearing an old frayed sweater by a campfire.
“So… um… you like to read?”
It’s a dumb question. Between the three books she’s carrying and the reading glasses in her pocket, anyone could see that.
“Yes,” she answers simply. There’s no malice in her voice, but no feeling either. It’s a simple fact.
He retreats to his room when he returns home, trying to write his heart out on a yellow legal pad and trying to take his mind off how Mizuno could even tolerate him ever again.
It’s all chicken scratch though. Even simple fluff poems about flowers being pretty seem to be hard for him to write.
A call from his prince draws him out of his stupor and into battle against a leftover creature.
It’s a bulky, bulbous monster called a Daimon that was apparently made by science.
“Are we winning?” Nephrite calls after his sneak attack completely fails.
“Do you want the truth or one of those little white lies to make you feel better?”
Jadeite’s frustration is understandable, if the improvised bandage on his leg is anything to go on. Mars’s fire seems to have no effect on the creature, Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Moon are pinned by the Daimon’s onslaught with Nephrite and the other senshi are still trying to make their way across town.
“Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!”
Glittering streams of water streak at the creature, enveloping it in ice and suddenly, Zoisite’s mind fills with descriptions for the attack and for the trickling otherworldly harp strings that accompany it.
Even when Sailor Moon purifies the creature in a dazzling display, Zoisite’s attention is still on the Senshi of Water.
The muse has struck him hard and maybe he can work up the nerve to thank her.
She recognizes his words when he submits to her, on a sheet of green paper, a poem about Hermes.
He recognizes her’s when he sees her handwriting in her little blue notebook.
Soon, little notes are passed between them. Verses plucked out of the ether to make little compliments.
Soon, they’re talking at length of wordsmiths and writers; who they like, who has the best descriptions, which would fit with music, which writer sounds like they would have voted for Shinzo Abe. Soon, it grows more intimate. Love poems, shared between the two of them, games that become heated the more passionate the poetry.
And the two of them begin to wonder when their games will be played to a work of their own composition.

Watched the Dark Kingdom musical today:
"I am the immortal Queen Beryl!" You're a heckin' Christmas tree. Last year I took a photo of you covered in tiny Ryo Bakura plushies and posted it with a bad "Deck the Halls" pun. (And it still gets notes occasionally!)
(Okay so she doesn't look like a Christmas tree yet in that scene but she WILL. I have Thoughts. Ideas, even. 😈)
I don't even ship Minako and Kunzite (like, at all), but Namikimichi no Koi is 🥹 (But now I'm imagining Classic!Kunzite as the "how do you do, fellow kids" meme XD)
Usagi grabbing at Kunzite- sorry, "Kun Saitou"'s sleeve during Saikyou no Couple Gundan is kind of funny to me considering that Yuuta Mochizuki was the next Tuxedo Mask, 😂
48:54 HOLY CRAPNOODLES BERYL. "If perhaps there was someone with a grudge against you, it would be nice if that very person could kill you..." You're not exactly being subtle there!! (AND you look like a Christmas tree under that disguise.)
50:38 There it is... the only acknowledgement of KunZoi in the entire continuity 😂
54:30 The original Sailor War!! Luna and Artemis got to join in, which I didn't remember from the album version. (Speaking of which, I'm not sure what to do with them in the save? Should I Simmify their human forms or just make them cattos? Maybe I'll do a poll...)
1:06:24 Nooo not a NnK reprise right before Kunzite kills Venus 😭 (it counts as a reprise if it's just an instrumental right? Am I using the right word?)
1:07:55 Aaashkrgubdksjgbdskfghrsdlrg 😭
1:11:52 "There's just one gentle person I want to see once more" AND IT'S HER 😭 aaaaaaajrngljzh they love her so much, she is Their Cornflake
1:25:05 The Shitennou randomly got into a fight during the curtain call?? Kunzite won, so I guess it was something like "winner gets to be in the next musical", XD. And I thought it was cute when Zoi and Jadeite helped him back up when he fell after doing that somersault, but then I rewatched it slowed down and they actually tripped him as he was about to land??? Zoi, how could you? 🤣
And now I have La Soldier stuck in my head. 😂
(This is the video I was watching, just so the timestamps match up.)
